hot take:
crushing on/hyperfixating on fictional characters is a form of self-love. imagining yourself in scenarios, be romantic or platonic, with a fictional character is self-love. i've strugged since 2018 with depression and self-esteem issues, and the best way to remedy that is to be kinder to yourself, right? however, there's no one way to be kinder to yourself. but if your imagination can bring a character to life and tell you how hard youre working or amazing/beautiful you are, its basically you coming up with a conversation in which you're reassuring yourself what you want to hear. <3

Okay, just a little idea cause I'm bored and I got the urge to do something and was scrolling through my feed here.
I want to do a comic of Wukong x Oc or maybe a Wukong x Oc x Macaque.
(who's secretly a half-self-insert, but I'm cringing from embarrassment just thinking about it. But like my account is already of me obsessing over a fictional character, I think I already went past NOT being cringe and should be 100% embarrassed.)
I want to draw more and need to practice drawing backgrounds and things that I'm not obsessing over. Should I do a little comic of "The Isekai' Oracle"? Or do I make a whole new story? I already have one huge story "The Isekai'd Oracle" that I'm heavily focusing on right now. Then there's the small and just-for-fun "I Saw You Once In A Dream" that I do so I can post regularly here and not let it be dead. It's already a lot of stories and to add another is too much in my opinion but I don't mind making another story since this will be just for fun too. I like making stories after all. I just want to see everyone's opinion on this.
Also when I went over my notes for the story, and planning soon-to-be chapters for TIO (The Isekai'd Oracle.) I realize I accidentally created some tension between Macaque and the reader. But the tension and relationship is so good and I thought of changing it to a Sun Wukong x Reader x Macaque. I even made a cute name for them the Seer Duo, or what the reader will call them, the Seeing Buddies in the story. Then Macaque will always have to clarify that he doesn't see the future and acts annoyed, but in reality, he likes the name and uses it as a form of encouragement and affection towards the Reader, only to make the hatred between Wukong and Macaque worse cause they both blame each other downfall of the Oracle and seeing history repeats itself with the reader, and he's probably the only one who knows the whole truth about the Oracle and the reader-
...
Sorry, I had to rant about it cause this knowledge was killing me. I was trying and hoping to play them off as being friends but the angst of everything got me in a chokehold. You guys were waiting for the Reader to meet Wukong but a storm is brewing when Macaque shows up. Anyway, here is the poll...
I promise I am fine and this is not eating me up from the inside out.

I've been obsessed with MK and Nero. I know canon x oc is sometimes frowned upon but eh, it's just art and it makes me happy.
So here is MK reassuring Nero and a big doodle page with everything that makes me happy (mostly OC related 👀💖)

I couldn't think of much for today so have this one that's incredibly silly and short.
Day 4: Into the Mac-Verse
Macaque x Reader
You knew that magic was a powerful, uncontrollable thing to be respected and feared, but this was something no one could have prepared you for. Macaque had been aware of the risks around intensifying his shadow portals to attempt travel to further destinations, but you never could have expected he'd tap into other worlds. The beings he'd accidentally pulled into your own reality were equally surprised and indignant.
You'd counted eight "Macaque's" in addition to the original, but more were appearing with increasing frequency, leading you to predict there would be another before the hour ended. It was impossible to sort out much of anything with all their arguing, but you were doing your best to figure out where they'd all come from. Through isolated bits of conversation you'd put together that their realities mirrored and contrasted your own in ways that ranged from minor and ridiculous to massive and bewildering. A Macaque from a world where he and Sun Wukong were more or less switched was especially explosive.
It didn't help that more than half had some version of you they were trying to get back to, and a few who didn't had become smitten with you quite quickly. It seemed likely that a full out war of Macaque's was brewing.
Sitting heavily on the beaten couch within the Dojo, you were joined by one of the quieter Macaques, who sat down beside you to watch the chaos. He didn't look too different from your own Macaque; similar clothes, similar build… except for the most out of character glasses perched on his nose.
"So, what's your story?" you asked him to break the silence, watching as groups of nearly identical monkeys started to take sides and form teams to make their case. The bespectacled Macaque turned to you, and as with all the others, you had to pretend he wasn't just as handsome as your original. Though the lenses did frame this one's face quite nicely… Clearing your throat, you got right back on track, trying to imagine what reality might have produced the Monkey before you. "
Are you a… scholar?"
"What?" he snorted, adjusting the glasses with a smirk. Chuckling at the very suggestion, he merely shrugged and gestured to the frames as he answered your question.
"No, I'm just nearsighted."
---
Anyone else dig the idea of Macaque with glasses? No? Just me? Valid.
