I promised you that I'd post my drawings, right? Well, I've already made some, in preparation of this year's actual ArtFight event.

All my characters are now updated! That means mostly that their descriptions are updated. I also gave some of them new main images though! Also, there's an entirely new character.

But first:

Look at her! She's so beautiful! I'm actually really proud of the hair, because I struggled with it so much. But she actually resembles Marilyn Monroe now! Mission accomplished!

The Guardian of the Deku Tree (The Legend of Zelda Series)

I came up with her when Tears of the Kingdom came out. Because of the whole time travel scheme in the game, I felt like creating an OC that would be there across all time to connect Zelda in the past and Link in the present. A timeless creature, if you will. Also, I fell in love with the concept of the Zonai. She isn't really a Zonai, but still. I then got obsessed with a YouTuber who was playing an Ocarina of Time randomizer, and so I got the idea of making her the Guardian/Sage/Spirit of the Deku Tree, because the Deku Tree is pretty much one of the most eternal things in the series. And also... Wood elves and dryads my beloveds...

The Weapons and Intel Expert of the New Squidbeak Splatoon (Splatoon Series)

This is just my love for Octolings and Splatoon in general and my obsession with Splatoon 3 combined. I freaking love the music, too, my gosh... She's there from the very start in Splatoon 1 because I have a very special connection with the first game. I know it doesn't full make sense but I believe in the principles of Shrödinger's Canon. In Splatoon 2 she definitely uses dualies, but in Splatoon 1 it's still a modified octoshot.

The True Halfling (The Lord of the Rings)

Half hobbit, half elf, this is a true halfling. With her being half elf, she got the choice of immortality and she chose to be immortal. She spends her days travelling and learning about different cultures, specifically their songs and music. Legend has it that she's the last creature still alive who can harness the magic of old.

The Feral Lynx (One Piece)

He actually has a name! His name is Lux Jirou! While he's still with the Black Cat Pirates, he goes by his first name Jirou, but once he deserts from them, he goes by his last name Lux. My boy has a very funky lynx devil fruit that lets him do cartoon logic style things because One Piece is One Piece and, judging by the one canon lynx in the series and other animal devil fruits, Oda couldn't care less about biological accuracy, so... Funky lynx boi. In the live action, he's Kaya's bodyguard and, one time when Klahadore finds Kaya crying to fluffy big cat Jirou, Kaya lies and says that this his her pet lynx named... Bowie! Yes, this is a David Bowie reference. Also, he's a Zoro ship. And he joins the Heart Pirates later :)

The Lonely Daughter (Encanto)

Behold! It's Bruno's daughter. You probably already know what that entails, she develops some issues after her father leaves. Her name is Soledad which means "loneliness" but Pepa thought that name was cruel after Bruno left, so everyone calls her Soles now, which means "suns". Wanna know what her power is? Water. With a hint of clairvoyance/scrying. But we don't talk about that :)

The Princess of Hearts (Disney's Alice in Wonderland / Descendants)

What can I say - I love the animated Alice in Wonderland a normal amount. I created her for a Roleplay like, I dunno, six years ago? Over six years? She's the daughter of the Queen of Hearts and her King and she's a Wonderland citizen through and through. Delightfully whacky and fun but also a little creepy. And she loves her tea, spends a lot of time with the Mad Hatter and his friends at his tea party. I tried to import her to the Descendants universe once or twice but I just never found a faceclaim that fit. Her name was originally Alice, but I don't know if the Queen would really call her daughter Alice or if she even knows the name of the girl who caused a ruckus at her court, and also that doesn't fit the Descendants naming scheme :)

The Botanic Monster (Undertale)

Well, I had a hyperfixation on Undertale when I was young. Like. Really young. And I kinda got hit in the feels about it again. Sans ship, probably. Dryad-adjacent thingy. Lives in Snowdin and is constantly cold. That's it for now. Look at my girl :) Well, my first draft of her anyway. Kinda feeling like making her anthro because what else is new. We create cat girls here sir. Dryad/cat hybrid? Maybe some sort of panther or other tree-adjacent cat?

The Cheshire Kitty (Disney's Descendants)

Curse you, Dolly, why did you have to enable me? So yeah, Cheshire Cat's daughter. Queen of Hearts' daughter's bestie, maybe? Absolute menace. This is also a picrew, you can find it here!

Redux/AU: Jelena, the Auxiliary Detective

The bitch is back. The original bitch. Bitch here being short for boss bitch because that's what she is. What if Jelena were a default part of the Investigators? She and Justus would constantly bicker and I am here for it. Is she an OC? No. Has she gained the title of honorary OC? Absolutely. What a queen.

AU: Vicky, the Resistance Spy

What if Vicky's mum and dad had gotten divorced and her mother had taken her back to Germany? What if Vicky had grown up there, never joined the WAAF and never joined the SOE. And what if she met Newkirk on a night out in Hammelburg, accidentally stumbling into the Heroes' organization and putting her life as a civilian on the line for the love of her life, for as much as he lied to her?

Redux/AU: Evelynn, the Not-So-Human Singer

First concept for Evelynn's non-human form! She obviously wouldn't walk around like this in day-to-day life, but in the magic-ish realm, this is what she looks like. She's a fairy! Picrew can be found here!

Redux/AU: Celine, the Glitch in the System

After watching Who Killed Markiplier, in my YouTube-obsessed mindset, I thought to myself: "Hey, what if Celine had been dragged into Mark's mind along with Darkiplier?" And so, Ego!Celine was born. I don't really know how I'm gonna redo her but I wanna redo her. Or at the very least I wanna revive her.

Who is going through the Horrors™? Tie-breaker!

Yes, we have a tie. Alas, I cannot let that stand (I can, I just thought I'd give you guys another chance to take control). To make the decision a little simpler, I'll be giving more info.

DIANA is an actual child. She's fifteen in her first "canon" appearance but she might be younger or a little older during the creation I will make. Still, that is a CHILD, on her own, in a dark forest with murderous wolves. My girl has no spellbook or weapon or anything and we're assumind she can't transform into a bird for whatever reason, so she's grounded, to top it all off.

VICKY is being hunted by actual soldiers. Maybe dogs too, as in German shepherds, big boys. If she gets caught, she WILL be shot because she's wearing a British uniform in WWII-era Germany and is supposed to be on the German side - at least that's what they think. And while she may be getting shot, it doesn't mean she's getting shot immediately. Oh no, there's a nice little institution called the Gestapo that would like a word with her and they're into torture. If the bullet won't get her while she's trying to navigate a pitch-black forest, the psychological terror will.

Day Twenty: The Trees Have Eyes (Location: The Woods/Forest)

Shadows of the trees cast illusions, the cracking of sticks cause hairs on the back of your neck stand. The wind howls which sounds of a voice, and the birds no longer sing. The woods are creepy, desolate, and you find yourself lost in the sea of their trunks. What happens when your ocs are stuck in the woods?

INFO for those not versed in the world of One Piece: The Seducing Woods are literally alive. Imagine Wonderland but worse. The flowers are alive, the trees are alive, everything is alive, and it's trying to kill you. Also, there's a witch.

Alright, here we go. I went by their general color scheme, traits and ranks as well as general vibes to assign them a gem, placement, weapon and dance style. The fusions are a topic for another day so that this post doesn't get too long. I might even create them in Gemsona Maker or something. For the dance style, I chose mostly partner dances because they were simply more common in the 40s, I think? I know it makes it a bit difficult with fusing, but I like that, because the have to put actual effort into synchronizing the different dance styles.

Colonel Hogan

Hogan is a Hessonite with his gem on either his throat or forehead. Hessonites are military leaders and very high-ranking, similar to Colonels in the army. As for his gem placement, I couldn't fully decide on one. The gem placement on his forehead would put emphasis on his intellectual side and his insane plans. But there's also the possibility of the throat placement. This is only speculation, but I think a throat placement would be about the power of words and we all know how much Hogan loves to wrap people around his finger. I'm not really sure what his weapon would be since most of the heroes usually only use pistols. But I settled on a spear. A spear can be used for both precise stabs and brute-force smacks overthe back of the head, embodying both sides of Hogan's plans: Calculated but insane and sometimes you just have to wing it. As for his dance style, I looked into popular dance styles of the 40s and settled for the Mambo.

Kinch

Kinch is a Peridot because of his technical knowledge. His gem is placed on his right palm which (in reference to Sapphire) stands for his external calm nature but sarcasm hiding underneath. I could also see him as a forehead gem. I think his gem weapon would be a screwdriver. Is that a weapon? It's sharp, that's enough for me. Or maybe a shield would also be an option. They need someone defensive on the team. I imagine his dance style would be the jazz-tinted Foxtrot variant popular in the 40s. It just fits his vibes.

Carter

Carter, I believe, would be an off-color Jasper. Why? Because of the color scheme and because Jaspers (and Amethysts) have some form of pyrokinesis. The reason why he's considered off-color is that he's going against his purpose and came out "wrong". He's more interested in chemistry than fighting. He's definitely a navel gem with how much of a sweetheart he is. For his weapon, I settled for a saber. I know it's kind of an unconventional choice, but we've seen him use one before when he impersonated that saber-duelling General who wanted to kill Klink. Also, he could coat it in fire and cause massive chaos with it. Finally, I think his dance style would be swing. It's fast, it's fun, it looks chaotic if you don't know what's going on... Perfect.

Newkirk

Now, Newkirk is pretty interesting. My boy Newkirk is a Pearl with his gem placed on his back. He's the second lowest rank in the gem hierarchy (which is a reference to his Cockney accent and its implications) and not a warrior. He's a performer - a magician, in fact, unlike the mass of other pearls. Now, the reason why I picked his back as his gem placement isn't because of the usual traits associated with it. I picked it because it's close to the chest, so close to emotions and impulsivity, but in a place that's a lot more vulnerable. The way I've always understood Newkirk's character is that his aggression comes from his hatred for the upper classes on one hand, but also from the fact that he doesn't want to be vulnerable. So his gem placement would represent that vulnerability he likes to hide. Also, in reference to Lapis, it's where his wings would be if he had them, giving a nod to his will to escape the military ranking system. But another neat thing is the fact that gems pull their weapons out of their gems. His weapon is a throwing knife and placing his gem on his back was also, for a large part, a way for me to reference one of my favourite Newkirk scenes ever. The only scene where we ever get to see him with his throwing knife and he keeps it strapped to his back somehow and pulls it out through his collar. His dance style, I think, would be Jive, the European variant of Swing. Fast, wild, oftentimes danced to rock...

LeBeau

Our tiny Frenchman is, of course, a Ruby. Just a small fiery bundle of anger. His gem is placed on his solar plexus, right between his chest (emotion, impulsivity) and stomach (compassion, love; and in this case food). His weapon is a pair of gauntlets that Newkirk likes to refer to as "kitchen mitts". As for his dancing style, I think it would be Tango. Sensual, romantic, lots of physical contact and just very fitting for him. An alternative would be slowdancing, but that's too slow for his personality.

Klink

Our dear Klink, I think, would be a Zircon. He just reminds me of Blue Zircon too much. I know Zircons aren't military gems, but Klink isn't really military-esque either. His gem would be round and over his left eye to mimic his monocle. Of course, his weapon is his riding crop. For his dancing style, it has to be Vienna Waltz. I mean, come on now.

Schultz

Schultz would probably be a quartz, maybe a Jasper or Chert. His weapon is a toy-style hammer. For his dance style, I think it would be influenced by German folk dance. Nothing too specific, just fun.

Burkhalter

General Burkhalter is an Emerald, the highest-ranking military gem. I feel like his gem would be either on his nose or bicep on either side, to show his aggression. His weapon would be like the helmet hammer thing Jasper has - which is how he got his scar. He got damaged by the shards of his shattered visor. Being a good and loyal Homeworld gem, General Burkhalter doesn't fuse.

Hochstetter

I believe Hochstetter would be an Agate. He's de-facto lower-ranking than Klink which is why I decided against my original idea of a Pyrope. An Agate fits him better either way since their purpose, according to Blue Diamond, is to be terrifying and Hochstetter is definitely terrifying Klink whenever he's around. His weapon would probably be a knife or an old saber. Something long and short for stabbing and maybe a bit of torture. Of course, Hochstetter also doesn't fuse.

Hilda & Helga

I'm grouping them together for ease. They'd both be Pearls, pretty obviously, because of the job they do. It only makes sense. Helga would have her gem on her thigh for her reserved and shy nature, whereas Hilda's would be on her stomach. I don't really know what their weapons would be. Maybe spears or daggers. For Helga maybe a shield. For some reason, I can see them enjoying tap dancing or the classic Foxtrot.

Vicky

I had to. You know I had to. Vicky is a Sapphire, no doubts about it. She's part of the aristocracy and the blue color scheme really fits her well. Aside from that, of course, her short and curvy stature. Her gem would be placed at her collarbone which apparently can come with any personality but is also tied to the association of "belonging to somebody else" or "not being their own person" which is fitting for Vicky since she's a spy and constantly pretending to be someone she's not. The "belonging to someone else" part is a parallel to the role of women in the Third Reich's ideology. Vicky's weapon would be a fan that she can shoot ice projectiles with. I wanted to give her a gun but I just don't think a gun should be the weapon of a singular gem. For a fusion, maybe, but not for a single gem. As for her dance style, she knows all the classic partner dances and has picked up some of the more unconventional ones too, so she's used to adapting herself to her partner and easy to fuse with. But if she had to pick her own dance style, it would be strongly influenced by the Minuet and take more of a form of Waltz if her partner dances something faster like Swing or Jive or Tapdance.

So, when I’m on a fandom kick and then I shift gears back toward another fandom, my brain starts trying to combine the two.  

And thus, I’m thinking about what gems and gem placements the Hogan’s Heroes team would have.  As well as what their fusions would be like.  And their fusion dances and weapons.  Like, I have so many ideas.

I also have no doubt that Carter’s gem weapon would be some sort of explosive.  Basically, I need Hogan’s Heroes Gem AU.

Cemeteries and tombs are the places we put our loved ones to rest, but in horror movies we find that final resting places are not so restful after all. Whether it’s ghosts, zombies, psychotic gravekeepers, or grave robbers ensuring no witnesses; how do your ocs go from mourning to trying to survive until morning?

OC Pride Challenge: Day 25

Today's prompt is Truth and who better to use this prompt for than the person living under a fake identity, Vicky aka Viktoria Brandt aka Zoe Allen?

It was a hot summer day at Stalag 13 and the prisoners were all wearing only the bare minimum of their uniforms, about as many hiding in the shadow of the barracks as there were enjoying the sun. Vicky, in an attempt to protect herself from the scorching rays, was sporting her newest hat - beautiful but not too attention-grabbing. She stood on the porch of the Kommandantur, overlooking the camp with a soft smile on her face. The door to the Kommandantur opened and Helga came out.

“Vicky?”

“Yes?”

“The Kommandant was wondering if you’d like some lemonade,” Helga told her.

“Lemonade? Always, always,” Vicky replied with a smile.

So, she came inside, taking off her hat and hanging it on the clothes rack. She followed Helga into the Kommandant’s office where Klink had already prepared multiple glasses.

“Ah, Frau Brandt!” he said with a smile. “I knew you wouldn’t say no to lemonade. If there’s one thing we Germans do well, it’s lemonade.”

“What about wars?” Vicky asked, more out of reflex of playing her character than anything.

“Wars, of course, wars,” Klink quickly threw in, pouring her a glass of lemonade.

The three of them clicked their glasses together and drank their lemonade. It was nice and cold, perfect for this kind of weather. On top of that, it reminded Anita of home. Her family had a country home and on that house’s property were multiple lemon trees. Their butler made the best lemonade on the planet from the lemons of those trees.

“You grew up in England, didn’t you?” Helga asked Vicky.

“Yes, I did,” Vicky replied. “But I prefer living in Germany.”

What a lie. There was only one good thing about Germany and that was her friends. And sometimes nature, maybe. But everything else, politics, the war… Klink wasn’t half bad, neither was Schultz or Langenscheidt or Helga. Vicky almost felt bad for lying to them with every breath she took.

Shortly after, the prisoners were gathered for roll call. Once everyone was dismissed, Vicky waited for a few minutes, then headed for barracks 2. When she opened the door, she found LeBeau at the stove, fixing up a meal, and Carter and Kinch at the table, playing cards.

“Hi, Vicky!” Carter called excitedly. “That’s some heat, huh?”

“Yes, absolutely,” Vicky sighed, taking off her hat and fanning herself with it. “I much prefer the English summer.”

“Nice hat!”

“Thank you.”

“Wanna play with us?” Kinch asked.

“No thanks. You always beat me, I really need to save up my luck before I try to beat you again. - Where’s Newkirk?”

“Oh, that’s why you’re here,” LeBeau remarked suggestively. “He’s in the tunnels. Once you get back up here, I’ll be done, too.”

“Alright, thank you. You’re a sweetheart, LeBeau.”

“Go meet your boyfriend.”

“You know he’s not my boyfriend,” Vicky reminded him as she walked over to the bunk hiding the tunnel entrance.

“He could be if he was brave enough,” LeBeau commented.

“You know Colonel Hogan wouldn’t approve,” was the last thing Vicky said before climbing down into the cool tunnels.

That was the sad truth. Colonel Hogan thought it was too dangerous for them to be together. After all, Vicky had a husband and it was vital to them that that stayed that way. On top of that, they both couldn’t afford to be distracted. But they were good at acting like they weren’t in love when the situation called for it. When it didn’t, however…

Vicky spotted Newkirk in his workshop from afar, standing with his back turned to her. A smile across her face, she snuck up to him from behind, wrapping her arms around him.

“You really aren’t very subtle with your ‘eels, love,” Newkirk murmured. “I could ‘ear you all the way from the entrance.”

“Oh, come on, you could at least act like I surprised you,” Vicky complained, letting him go.

But Newkirk took her hands and turned around, pulling her closer by the waist.

“Sorry, it’s just I always pay attention to ‘eels, just in case my princess comes to visit. Nice ‘at, by the way.”

“Thank you, I bought it just last week. I figured you might like it.”

She stood on her toes to kiss him, tasting a faint hint of tobacco on his lips.

“So, why are you ‘ere?” Newkirk asked. “Just to see lil’ ol’ me?”

“Just to see you,” Vicky confirmed. “And maybe to hide from the heat.”

“Terrible, innit? I’ve been in Germany for a while now and I still can’t stand this blasted ‘eat.”

“And why are you here? Hiding from the heat too?”

“That’s why I’m stalling. But the reason I came down ‘ere is because Carter tore ‘is uniform and I don’t ‘ave the right yarn up in the barracks for whatever reason.”

“You probably used it all.”

Newkirk kissed her forehead, then pulled himself free and looked through his assortment of yarns, digging through his sewing crate.

“Peter, dear, can I ask you something?” Vicky said quietly, watching him search.

“Anything, love,” Newkirk replied.

“Do you think the Germans will be mad if they ever find out the truth?”

“You mean Klink, Schultz and the lot?”

“Yes.”

“They won’t find out.”

“But once this whole war is over, once the infantry comes marching in here, won’t we tell them?”

“Maybe, maybe not. But if we do tell ‘em, we’ve gotta be careful Schultz doesn’t faint,” Newkirk said with a grin.

Vicky chuckled lightly. “Right, you’re right. But I guess this whole problem is a question for another day, isn’t it? For now, I’d rather think about what LeBeau is cooking.”

Vicky starts off as this really sweet and careful young woman but with the kind of people she hangs around, she becomes just a little more unhinged every day. She's still really sweet and kind, but she can absolutely become a little shit like the rest of the Heroes if necessary.

Speaking of the Heroes, Vicky refuses to be called a part of their group. She has her own codename purpose that just so happened to lead her to work with the Heroes. Meanwhile, the Heroes insist she's part of their team now. Why wouldn't she be? She works with them on every mission, it's only fair.

There's quite the language barrier sometimes between Vicky and the Heroes. If feel like, generally, language isn't talked about much in the fandom and it should be talked about more. Each of the Heroes probably speaks their own version of English. Yes, even the Americans. You can't tell me they're all from the same region. So, there has to be confusion over words sometimes, especially about everyday works like "truck"/"lorry". You can't tell me that the Heroes always understand what Newkirk is saying in his Cockney accent. Poor LeBeau too. English isn't his first language and he has to learn multiple words for the same thing. Add Vicky and her posh accent to the mix and things get even messier. Most of the time, Newkirk can translate, but sometimes even he doesn't know some specific words.

Finally, one last fun fact: Vicky loves embroidery. She absolutely adores it. If there's something Newkirk is sewing that could use embroidery, she's immediately on it. In her free time, she does crossstitch patterns.

Falling for Hogan's Heroes - Day 19: Felix

Vicky started putting all the mail back in the bag. Another one of these campaigns. This was already guaranteed to be fruitless anyways - which was good, of course - but what a waste of paper. At least this meant getting to talk to the prisoners some more. The post bag swung over her shoulder, Vicky said bye to Helga and walked over to barracks 2. As subtly as possible, she knocked on the door before entering. This was both the prisoners’ sign that it was her and something she did out of decency. After all, she did not want to walk in on one of them changing or something along those lines. They should have their privacy, at least from her. When she heard a response from inside, she entered. Immediately, Newkirk appeared at her side, quickly followed by the rest of the men.

“I have your letters, boys!” Vicky announced and placed her bag on the table.

What followed now was a little like Christmas. There was such a joy on the prisoners’ faces that it almost made Vicky like her job.

“What’s this?” Kinch asked, holding up a flyer he had pulled out of his mail.

“Oh, that”, Vicky shrugged. “That’s a gift from our dear friend Goebbels. You can sign up for the Luftwaffe again, doesn’t that sound like a jolly good time?”

“They’re trying to get actually good pilots again”, LeBeau chuckled. “Is there a letter for me?”

“Yes, as usual, your letter has been spreading its fragrance to the rest of the bunch”, Vicky smiled, suppressing a giggle.

She handed LeBeau his perfume-drenched letter before continuing to the rest.

“Carter, here’s one- AH!”

Vicky shrieked and jumped backwards, bumping into Newkirk who broke out into laughter. What she had spotted was a mouse sitting on Carter’s shoulder, staring right into her soul.

“Calm down, it’s just a mouse”, Newkirk grinned as he held her in place by the waist.

“Oh, right, you don’t know Felix yet”, Carter gasped as he picked the mouse off of his shoulder and held it in his hands.

“Felix?” Vicky echoed weakly.

“My pet mouse!”

“... You have a mouse as a pet?”

“He’s my best buddy! Do you wanna hold him?”

Before Vicky could answer, Carter was already getting closer. At the same time, Newkirk let go of Vicky’s waist and took hold of her hands, forming them into a cup.

“There we are. Now don’t drop ‘im”, he told her, keeping his hands beneath hers, probably in case she did drop Felix.

Carefully, Carter placed Felix in Vicky’s hands, causing her to turn solid like a statue. His whiskers felt tingly against her skin and the sensation of his fur made her shiver. But he didn’t move. In fact… he was tame.

“See, that’s not so bad, innit?” Newkirk asked, removing his hands.

“He’s… actually… kind of cute”, Vicky stammered.

“Right?!” Carter grinned.

“I still think you had better take him back.”

For the fandombend: how about Vicky Brandt in M*A*S*H?? 🖤🖤🖤

This is actually already halfway a thing! One of my many unfinished fics on AO3 is a crossover between Hogan’s Heroes and M*A*S*H. But let's say she's actually part of the fandom and it's not a crossover, for the fun of it.

I'm making Vicky Charles's actual cousin. That way she keeps her upper-class background. Plus it would be fun to have the contrast between them

Vicky still grew up in England but moved to the US sometime before the 50s. Maybe between the two wars?

I'm not sure what her name would be. Zoe Charlotte Allen like originally? Zoe Charlotte Winchester? Victoria Winchester so I can keep her nickname?

In this fandom, she'd be a nurse and a very caring nurse at that. She'd be at the 4077th before Charles and them being related would be a surprise plot twist, maybe after some buildup of "Why the hell did they click that quickly?" Maybe her name should be Allen then, not Winchester? Hm...

I feel like she'd get along super well with most of the main cast. A sibling relationship with Radar, gushing about fashion with Klinger, being very close with Father Mulcahy. She'd also be very concerned for Hawkeye whenever he's not doing well. Also, she'd try to sort of mediate between Charles and other parties during the time when he still has a bad reputation

This was actually super fun to think about. Let's hope this doesn't turn into an actual AU version in my head...
