[ULTRANGELTOBER 2024] Day 5 - Chalice

"At the time of the crucifixion, the angels descended from Heaven and with their wings, covered Christ's bleeding wounds. Uriel also dipped his wing in the blood flowing from Christ's flank and filled a chalice with it. He fled to Ethiopia and sprinkled it all over the country, and in every place where a drop of blood fell, a church was built."

This prompt was simply the perfect excuse to make a picture for my favorite piece of Uriel lore in the world—regarding his association with the chalice and also with Ethiopia, which inspired his design in my novels.

LETS GOOOOO-- HERE'S THE MAIN CAST FOR THE MEANING VIVERE!

This is a story I've been working on writing lately!

It follows a recently deceased person being brought back by an angel out of pity. The only problem is that he suffered a lot of head trauma-- causing amnesia-- and the angel can't stop the decay process. To repay the angel for life, all they ask is two things: to live, and to work as an embalmer at the morgue the angel runs. Jonathan then has to figure out what the angel means by living, while also juggling a lost and torn sense of identity and a rotting body.

Here's also a little preview to how the first chapter is coming along:

With all the grace of a rusted gate, he began the process of standing from the stool. He stumbled when his leg snapped back into fluidity. His face met with a tile wall and gave it a fresh new paint job. His arms reached out to balance himself a second too late. By the time he pulled his face off the scarlet wall, his legs had loosened and he was standing upright.

“Devil’s Garden” is a universe I share with the bestie @hellosunnycore☀️ In this world, magical girls are not just a part of daily life but idols and an entire subculture onto themselves. Magical girls are also not just girls, as Saints (the common term in this world, along with Angels) of all genders can be found.

Here are some of my OCs in this universe:

Cosimo ✨ 21 ✨he/they

Cosimo is a film student, rollerblader, and proud saint. Initially a bit nervous about taking on this role, he quickly embraced it after a tumultuous encounter with a handsome, mysterious angel. Before he became one himself, Cosimo wasn’t all that interested in the saint culture, with one exception: the beautiful Saint Valentine (belongs to @hellosunnycore). He’s trans masc+agender and best friends with Oriana and Obi. He’s dating a guy named Gabriel who goes to a different college.

Oriana 🌷22🌷she/her

Oriana is a fashion student and saint (though she prefers to call herself a magical girl). Being a magical girl was the thing she wanted most her whole life. The day she gained her powers was a dream come true for her. However this excitement quickly turned to reality as she realized there was a lot more to this than what she bargained for. Her dream is to become as powerful as her idol, Saint Valentine. Oriana is a trans woman, she is childhood friends with Cosimo and is dating Obi.

Obi 🦇 21 🦇 he/him

Obi is an art student and saint who runs his shop of goth+punk jewelry and leather goods from his dorm. A child of immigrants, he struggles to balance out his many identities and the ways they overlap and clash. Obi is a trans man. He met Oriana and Cosimo in their third year of high school.

Uriel 👁️��🗨️ 24 👁️‍🗨️ they/them

Not much is known about this saint, other than their extreme strength and the fury in their convictions. They have reached a higher level of sainthood and is referred to as a guardian. A mysterious fire broke out one day in their shrine, a place that was used to house orphans and which had somewhat fallen into disarray after their followers began to gather in masses. Nearly all inside died. The survivors were healed by Uriel’s tears. Uriel is agender.

Borzoi ⛓️ 28 ⛓️ she/her

Another mysterious saint, her real name is unknown. Due to past abuses and trauma, she finds it extremely hard to trust anyone and she puts on a cold exterior to protect a deeply wounded heart. Borzoi is a cis woman. She has a brother who she lost contact with in childhood and a toxic yuri hatemance with @hellosunnycore’s OC Charlotte

DC OC | Uriel Morningstar

Uriel Morningstar is the eldest Morningstar sister and daughter of Lucifer and the angel Bethesda. Like Angeknight, Uriel has divine and angelic powers. During the Hell War, her father asks for her and her sister Makayla's help in both fighting and keeping their youngest sisters Elyon, Azriel, and Myra safe.

Though she rarely leaves Heaven, during the time she does spend on Earth she goes horse riding and enjoys painting.

I've been in such a dnd mood 😭 Trying to create clothes for my cleric is so tiring because I make her clothes one work and the next week, I finally decided on her god and was like "shit, her clothes aren't gonna cut it."

Here's her first design that I drew! I'll probably post more as those drawings are more done lol

Her name's Uriel! I wanted to give her a twist if I was going to play a healer and made it where people had to pay for her healing powers lmaooo

Our first session was quite a banger. I killed another player :D It's ok, they stole money from me.

Meeting the Big Three

( Rose is introduced to Akumu's business associates who helped build the Empire, however she soon finds out very unfortunate information )

They entered a large luxurious office with Akumu's hand placed behind Rose's neck, guiding her inside. "This is Scarlette, my daughter."

Kaili laid on the couch, stretched out like a large, content feline, his robe partially covering anything important, not that he would care nonetheless. He puffed on his hookah, and exhaled the smoke towards Rose's face. If she was bothered she made no move to show it.

Kaili found that intriguing.

"Ah, so this is the reason."

Kaili leans down to get a better look. He holds her chin up and tilts her head side to side, inspecting her features, blowing another purple cloud of smoke towards her.

"Hmm, doesn't seem like much. Tiny."

Akumu stood proudly with his chin in the air his grip from the back of her neck slightly tightened- the only indication that he was annoyed.

"The way Ive recreated her- she is exceedingly adequate."

Akumu looked at her, red eyes flashing with pride.

"An ideal weapon. She will be the model face for the New Order."

"She is just a mere child living up to her father's expectations."

Akumu and Kaili look over their shoulder towards the desk, unaware of the fourth presence in the room.

Uriel sat on a rather large chair, arms crossed.

"What makes her so special besides blood?"

Uriel stood up almost towering as he walked towards them wings spread.

"She's untrustworthy. Has she mentioned the Rebellion, who may I add, has been sabotaging all of our efforts of expanding?"

Uriel grabbed her front, lifting her small body in the air with ease. He glared down at her, the look so intense she had to look away. The first mistake she did.

"Yes, I know."

Uriel looks at Akumu confused, dropping her to the floor with a thud.

"You knew?"

Uriel spazzed as Akumu looks on calmly.

"Yes. Of course. She may not realize it..."

Akumu shifted his gaze to the redhead on the floor an aura surrounding him that made Rose's skin crawl.

".. but when they say the Overlord has eyes everywhere they meant I can see through each and every one of my contractors."

"Specially yours."

That was Rose's second mistake.

After the meeting Rose left in a hurry. She left through the fire escape, leaving a decoy behind that'll buy her some time as she made her way towards the secret base underneath the sewer systems.

It wasn't as gross as one would think. It was well decorated, reconstructed to fit over forty plus people. It held a great ventilation system- a few bunkers, a small lab, two training grounds, a compact cafeteria, and a highly classified tech room from things Rose brought in to help them.

Rose shoved the double doors open in a haste entering the meeting room for the rebellion.

"We need to relocate now."

Morgan got up from reading through files, confused from the sudden demand.

"What the hell? Why do you want us to relocate? What is going on?"

Rose packing, advising everyone else to do so which they did without a second thought.

"No time just get all of this shit and go somewhere, anywhere."

"Sinclaire?" Morgan watches her pace, shoving things in bags, or placing them in a pile.

"ROSE!" Morgan puts hands on Rose's shoulders to stop her from pacing.

"What is going on? What happened?" Rose looked away, guilt written upon her face.

"it.. it was me.... I'm the reason why he knows where we are each and everytime...if he can see through people who've made contracts with him what will he do with me? Someone who shares his blood? I'm a liability."

Morgan frowned knowing where this was going. It meant theyll be away from one another. No contact. No way of knowing if they are safe. Or when they'll be able to see one another again if ever.

Rose placed her hand on Morgan's cheek, gently coaxing the blonde back to reality. There was a saddened look in Rose's eyes as if she knew exactly what Morgan was thinking.

"I can't stay here and ruin this for everyone. We've worked so hard to get this far."

Even if Morgan knew the answer she still asked, "Will you keep in touch... outside of the rebellion?"

".. I can." Morgan perked up with that, "But it will be limited." That was Rose's third mistake.

Rose gave a small sigh and cupped the blonde's face.

"A kiss for the road?"

Morgan pulls her in, gently holding the back of Rose's head. Morgan gave her a kiss that deepened with so many repressed feelings she held for so long and now not knowing when she'll be able to express them.

Rose pulled away first with much reluctance, not caring if some of the other members of the rebellion where watching. She stared into Morgan's blue eyes before completely pulling away to grab her things. Then she left, crushing her key card in her palm.

Morgan watched Rose leave until she couldn't see the assassin anymore. With a nod of acceptance, she turns to everyone else.

"Alright, yall heard her! Get to packing, we will leave before sundown!" She barked out the order, everyone moving immediately before the command even left her mouth.

"Yes, sir!"
