It's been a long day, and it's time for Rook to get some well earned rest. But what does that look like exactly?

Do they have a special outfit they sleep in? What does their sleeping spaces look like? Are they full of pillows and blankets, or are things more sparse? Do they have any sleep "quirks", like hogging the blanket or talking in their sleep?

Bonus question: Big spoon or little spoon?

Torva is a Big Boy and he gets hot when he sleeps, so when he's somewhere safe and comfortable? He's pretty much naked or wearing as little as he can. Probably some loose pants at best, and if he's wearing a shirt it'll probably be gone by the time he wakes up! He's pretty good at sleeping comfortably with very little in the way of pillows/blankets though! :) he likes to be big spoon bc he likes to wrap himself around whoever he's sleeping with (he also snores, but surprisingly quietly. It's very cute.)

Vena sleeps naked, and when questioned about it, he's just "What, you think I can't defend myself? You think I haven't killed someone while naked?" He is also capable of sleeping sitting up in his armor, but if he's able to somewhere safe and comfortable? Pillows. A canopy would be nice too. If asked if he's big or little spoon, he'd answer "A knife." (He's a little spoon though.)

Feli loves the classic silk nightgown under the flowing dressing gown look, but he's also a clothes thief. He will steal your shirt and sleep in it and if you ask he will lie to your face and say its his. He LOVES lush comfort, so mountains upon mountains of pillows and blankets. Bury him in an avalanche of comfort. He is THE biggest blanket hog, and he tends to starfish on top of you rather than be big or little spoon. Use his partner as a pillow~

when it's rook's turn to cook

Dinner time! And it's Rook's turn to cook. What does Torva, Vena, and Feli make? Are they good cooks? Do you think the other companions look forward to their meals, or do they make themselves scarce when dinner time comes around?

Torva is a Passable Cook, but not a great one? He's good at throwing together big, hearty meals that feed a lot of people with minimal ingredients, though! He can be a bit heavy-handed with seasoning, though, and he gets distracted so, uh... stuff burns sometimes. He and Bellara bond over requiring a chaperone in the kitchen.

As Vena has difficulty trusting people, he's a pretty solid cook on the basis of just. Insisting on cooking for himself for the most part! Ngl he's probably pretty weirded out by how readily the rest of the squad trust Two Career Assassins to cook for them at first.

Felicien is first and foremost a perfectionist, and as such he not only cooks, he cooks like he's cooking for royalty. He's also Orlesian, so he's kind of insufferable about it. But once you've had real Orlesian butter, you can't really go back.

If you had complete control over the decor in your Rooks' rooms at the lighthouse, what would they look like? What kind of items and decorations would you find in their rooms? Would they get a real bed, or just keep sleeping on that sad little couch we get in-game?

Bonus question: If they could choose their "spot" literally anywhere in or around the lighthouse, would they hunker down somewhere else?

I, personally, would LOVE for one of these bitches to have a bed. Torva is too damn big for that stupid little couch!!! Bring in a fuckin bed!!! But unfortunately, it likely does not even occur to him to get a bed until someone suggests it. Other than that, he doesn't have a lot of personal effects, but he absolutely keeps that wooden gryphon toy, among a few other personal trinkets. Absolutely drags in a little table for card games. He's definitely the type who acts like he doesn't really know what's going on and then sweeps the pot. Davrin probably heard from Evka and Antoine not to actually bet against him, and Dav took it as a challenge.

Feli is used to a certain degree of comfort, he will not tolerate that couch for longer than a single night, if even that. YES, he lived as a mercenary for a while and as such is used to sleeping rough, but why would he do that when there's an option? He ALSO worked and lived in a number of lavish brothels!!! Give him a goddamn feather mattress or give him death! Over time, he'd furnish his little parlor with a lot of plush, fancy furniture. He'd get himself a kettle, because he likes tea (and likely a whole little bar and some shelves just for all his different kinds) just an ABSURD number of froofy pillows and blankets, and he'd definitely need more than just a single wardrobe for his clothes. Maybe a nice rolling rack. Varric calls him Highness for a reason.

Vena is used to sleeping basically anywhere, but yeah he's a tall boy and that couch likely wouldn't suffice for long. He gets grumpy. Hell, it might be a "gift" from someone else because they're sick of his attitude. It'd definitely take him a while to start furnishing it himself, just because he's not very used to having downtime. I think over time he'd slowly accumulate a couple chairs, maybe start a small collection of books and such. I think he's got a weakness for those serials Bell is so fond of...

I think Torva would be content with his cozy little cave with its water view (though he always wakes up in the middle of the night needing to piss like mad, with the water noises all night)

while Feli would probably like to go somewhere high up, maybe a room in that overlook in the main lighthouse. Give him some quiet solitude, some nice views, and maybe some big windows so he can throw open his lush curtains in the "morning" (however time works in the Fade) to get some sunlight.

Vena, i think, would also like somewhere high up, but for different reasons than just the view. He likes having a good vantage point, and lots of accessible escape routes. Yeah, there's the risk of falling forever if he makes a misstep, but that's part of the thrill. (Plus, if he dies because he fell out a goddamn window, he'd say he deserved it.)

Love is found in the strangest of places, often when you least expect it.

What's the story of your Rook and their love interests? Was there an instant connection between them, or was it more of a gradual build-up? What kind of dynamic do the two of them have?

Bonus question: What's their favorite things about each other you think?

I think Torva didn't really expect to be with anybody. He's got a lot of personal/body issues bc of where he came from, so he just... doesn't really see himself as a sexual entity, much less a romantic one, as a Warden with a Guaranteed Premature Expiration Date, but he is sort of drawn to Lucanis right away. The big soft eyes and the voice, and yeah the emotional struggle because Torva likes to help. I think he's just invested in helping Lucanis (and Spite) from the beginning, and over time the closeness starts to just... wake something up in him he's never really thought he'd have before. It's gonna be a lot of dancing around each other and almost-something, before one of them snaps.

Vena is a standoffish man who does not trust easily, and keeps most of the companions at arms length for a while, but Emmrich being such a bright, positive presence is... baffling for him, at first. Throws him for a loop at first, tosses those walls up waiting for The Catch, but he can't help but find himself charmed. Manfred definitely helps. He's fascinated by Emmrich, and where they both stand wrt the role they play in death. The before and after. There's something almost poetic about it, he thinks.

Feli is a bit frosty at first too, but he's actually sort of... craving a genuine closeness and connection with someone, anyone. He gets very attached to all the companions over time, becomes very doting and protective, and Davrin's stubborn self-reliance would drive him a bit crazy. I can absolutely picture them getting sharp and snippy with each other in the beginning. It probably baffles Davrin seeing Feli go from Icy Politeness (or swearing at him in Orlesian) to the most effusive baby talk when dealing with Assan. The softness will be directed towards him, too, eventually.

Feli also has a weakness for men capable of tossing him around a bit, so. There's that too 😏

i've been letting my playstyle sort of develop Torva's character a bit, bc it actually really goes along with the backstory i've loosely constructed for him!

he's a mage, but he doesn't fight like a mage. he throws himself full-force at the enemy instead of firing off at a range. he is mowing them down with his bulk and blasting them with magic almost as an afterthought

Tbh I'm not 100% sure yet, I'm mostly going on vibes, but I've been leaning toward Emmrich 😩 that old man has bewitched me

aaaand I'd put it somewhere within a 10 year time frame? I was imagining it taking place sometime during the events of DA2, probably between act 2 & 3, if that helps! He's been with them a decently long time, long enough to be fairly accomplished and have a reputation

i believe you get access to the mirror of transformation or whatever its called when you get to your base (i think that'll happen after dealing with the solas situation). it definitely exists tho.
