Note
Had 2 ficlet ideas for Song of a Usurper that I've been trying to wright but haven't been coming out right.
First is Tonio and Piper meeting up near what looks like a bandit camp next to one of the seals, which is actually inhabited by the Teeth in the Dark who have similar camps near the other seals as well on Damien's behalf. The two of them are actually aware of who the Teeth are, partly because some of their lower level members have ended up in the way of their heists recently. They compare notes on the group, with Tonio explaining who they are, the fact that they went dark years ago and shouldn't be this strong a force now, and explains what he knows of the Seals, while Piper identifies their new emblem as a coyote, which Harmonia doesn't have, so it's now clear that their comeback was likely facilitated by an off-worlder.
Then Agent Zed (who's on comms since he's Piper's mission control guy when she's in the field) chimes in with the reveal that according to the readings he's getting compared to a normal copy of the game, the seals are weakening, possibly deliberately considering the Teeth. So, they're gonna have to prepare for a ghost apocalypse. First on the list is finding ways to actually fight ghosts, which shouldn't be too hard given the fact that the Grid has access to the Danny Phantom universe and its technology via Anchor Timmy's server.
Second involves Hoopa (the one Ash knows from that one movie) ending up in Harmonia because he tends to wander and explore now that he actually can and the whole Digital Multiverse thing added a whole bunch of new places to explore. He finds Tama who's having a Bad Time (as is typical in this arc) and decides to help.
By summoning Pokemon.
Because that's his solution to everything.
He ends up summoning several of Ash's traveling group's Pokemon (notably including Pikachu, Kirlia and Miku's Ghost Meowth), several of Team Rocket's Pokemon (plus the Doodoll that follows them around who they haven't realized they could probably catch no problem yet. 'cause they're idiots), the Pichu Brothers (lord help us), a few of Ash's pokemon from Oak's Ranch, and a wild Absol. He also nabs Jub Jub and his Smallfry friend kinda-sorta by accident. This results in the usual Pichu Brothers Short misadventures with an added dose of Memes, which to Hoopa's credit does take Tama's mind off of Things for a while, and by the end they're in a big napping pile in the castle garden. Well, most of them are napping. Absol's fully awake and alert, keeping watch over all of them and a bit tense in preparation for something, though she is still being part of the pile.
That's what Nimbus and Ash's crews (and Boopkins) see when the Trainers come to pick up their Pokemon (none of them were too concerned about things since Pikachu has access to the Avatar group chat and explained right away what happened. Well, Boopkins was still worried but he's Boopkins). Obviously they're all happy that Tama's feeling better, even if it's only for an afternoon, though Ash does note that Pichu Brother episodes tend to come right before the kind of Big Events that end up in the movies. The fact that Absol's on high alert also isn't a good sign given the species' Whole Thing being the ability to sense incoming disasters. After naptime's over the Pokemon get recollected, though Absol refuses to leave Tama's side and Hoopa and the Pichu Bros also decide to stick around for a while (no reason for them not to, they are wild after all).
So Nimbus's crew is now at least aware that something is coming, though out of everyone involved they have the least idea what, and Tama now has a big, fluffy, highly competent, precognitive bodyguard.
(and of course they now have Hoopa hanging around, who'll probably respond to the incoming ghost apocalypse by throwing Legendaries at it until it's no longer a problem. Because according to Hoopa Logic if you can't solve a problem by throwing Pokemon at it you're just not throwing enough Pokemon)
Oh! I love both of these SO MUCH! If it's cool with you, I'd love to write about both of them!

I'm With Him And This Is Real Life, Honey
Thank you all for your enthusiastic responses! This is a Spamano One-Shot which I originally wrote for the dearest @someone-you-do-not-know, as part of my Rake Courtship AU, vaguely set in the Regency or preceding Georgian era.
If you want some general backstory for this AU or read another piece of unbearable Spamano longing and Lovino never getting what he deserves, partially because he won't allow it to himself - here is another One-Shot set in the same AU.
Summary for this One-Shot: After Antonio's and Michele's wedding has been crashed by Michele's former suitor, Lovino urges Antonio to go after his former fiancé and Lovi's cousin, if only because if Michele's father Salvatore finds him first, there will be bloodshed. They find Harry and Michele, sadly just in time to witness their elopement wedding, which will complicate things further. This is the night after that Lovino spends in an inn room with Antonio. I also made a little playlist for Spamano and Sicire in the AU, if you'd like to listen to "Would you be so kind" whilst reading Lovino's suffering.
Here's the fic - enjoy!
It was a quiet night. No wind that howled, no rain that pounded. They were the only guests at the inn – It wasn’t shabby enough that they all had to share a single room, vermin not included, and not classy enough to carry gossip to where it shouldn’t be. Not that Lovino had ever been in an inn. People of a certain class always stayed with one of their own, that was what mansions were for. Everything about this was so beneath him.
But now he wished he had simply bitten the bullet instead of drawing the line and insisting on separate rooms. He’d rather have shared a room with these two sources of his malcontent than having to listen to their bed creak through the walls. Already a pillow over his head and he could still hear the creak of wood and the slap of skin on skin.
“I’m not sharing a room with you two knobheads! I don’t care, I’ll pay for it myself!” He had protested an hour earlier or so. “I’ve had enough of you as is, for all I care I never need to see either of you for the rest of my life, but a night’ll do! I’ve been a witness against my will to your we-” He had stopped himself, suddenly aware that there was no need to bellow details about the place. No need to blow their cover
“Well, kind of you to give us the privacy,” Michele had replied and there seemed to be genuine surprise in his voice. Of course, overshadowed by how pleased he and his lover had seemed by the implications.
He didn’t even end up paying for it, but his cousin’s rotten lover. Not that Lovino had much money on him, as he had left in a hurry, but Antonio hadn’t been allowed to pay either. Simply thinking of the entire charade made him want to retch again.
Michele had taken Antonio’s hands and looked him in the eyes when he said: “You’ve already done far too much for me to ever repay it. Please, Antonio, don’t make my debt any greater. I’ve caused you enough hurt as is, let me be the bigger person now.”
Bigger person, his ass. A bigger person would put their money where their mouth is and not fuck his new husband within earshot of his old fiancé.
Christ alive, why was that stupid candle still burning. The light it produced wasn’t much, but he could see Antonio clear enough as he laid next to him in bed.
Because of course his luck was just so that there was no more than one bed in each room. At least Antonio wasn’t talking to him. He had rarely spent a moment in silence with him ever since his father had asked to spend time with him and Michele.
Antonio was mute now, as he stared at the ceiling. He had his arms crossed over his chest, stripped to his undergarments and shirt like Lovino, who could see dark curly hair peak out at the top of his shirt. In his sculpted face – Lovino still couldn’t believe his cousin had chosen to bang someone who’s face looked like an entire carriage accident over this – the brows were slightly knitted and the full lips had a hint of a pout.
He couldn’t imagine how Antonio felt, but wouldn’t want to switch places with him. A twinge of guilt came over him to have dragged him into this whole affair. What concern should it be to Antonio if the man he was betrothed to ran off with someone else and incurred the wrath of his monstrous father? He was no longer Michele’s fiancé and was not obligated to care for him anymore. And yet he did.
There was another twinge and it took Lovino a moment to realize it was jealousy. Underneath fondness for Antonio’s selfless nature, it was jealousy that it had all been wasted on Michele. His stupid cousin got betrothed to a sweet, hot, rich, important guy and then he blew it, he would have deserved it so much more than Michele. He deserved to be fawned over and cherished and spoiled rotten, he deserved to have a husband who was as kind and doting and hot as Antonio. Instead he was relegated to be the best man and agony aunt, the company that Michele couldn’t be and now he was in bed with the hottest man he’d ever seen and wasn’t even allowed to touch him. Relegated to hear his cousin screw his lover in a second-rate inn and hiding underneath the pillow as not to hear the muted throes of passion...
He could see the hairs on Antonio’s strong arms. He realized he’d been staring at Antonio the entire time and felt his face burn up.
In that moment, he could hear something that sounded like a pent-up moan from the other side, followed by some laughter.
Antonio’s eyes squeezed shut for a moment, face scrunched up in discomfort. He sighed through his nose as he relaxed and his eyes opened again.
Great, now he could even hear them suck face in the silence. Antonio’s own expression turned from displeased to awkward – and he turned to Lovino, who felt panic well up in his stomach and fan out to his limbs.
“What the fuck are you looking at me for?!” he asked him and buried his face in the mattress, hoping it would swallow him. He could still hear the damn bed creak. “It’s not my fault!”
“S-Sorry …” Antonio apologised. Great. Simply great. He could hear Antonio clear his throat.
He tried to visualize what was going on in the other room, in the hopes that his rotten cousin and his troll of a lover would be enough to exorcise his feelings of desire. Sadly, whenever he tried, his mind too soon drifted off and kept the steamy fantasy with a tanner body underneath his own fingertips, full lips ghosting over his own body, rough but gentle hands gripping his hips, his own fingers running through wild, curly hair -
Lovino screamed into the mattress. “I’ll kill him, I’ll kill him tonight, and if I don’t I hope his dad strings him up by his own entrails, he deserves it,” he muttered into it.
“Are you alright, Lovino?” Antonio asked and Lovino considered biting himself through the entire bed and then the floor to escape the situation.
He lifted his face but didn’t face Antonio. “These two have not a bone of shame in their entire body,” he said as he stared into the dark, since Antonio’s body blocked most light of the candle in this position. “We should just have bid Michele good riddance and washed our hands of the entire thing. He’s clearly enjoying himself as is, that ungrateful bastard.”
Oh god, as if the universe itself wanted to mock Lovino, he could hear the sounds on the other side increase in frequency. He gritted his teeth.
“I mean …” Antonio sighed again. “It was the right thing to do, Lovino. It’s not always easy to do the right thing, but still you do it.” He could hear the smile in his voice. “And I guess it is their wedding night …”
Something almost slipped Lovino’s lips, but he bit it back. There was no need to tell Antonio what he had seen the night before Antonio was supposed to marry. No need to increase his suffering.
“You’re being a saint about this,” Lovino said. “If I was you, I would have walked already. To do it with you around … aren’t you mad?” He’d be mad if he was Antonio. To be betrothed to someone who doesn’t want you, have that fiancé kidnapped at your wedding day and run after them only to barge in on their elopement wedding … If he was Antonio, he’d curse everyone he ever met. Lovino included – after all, he had spurred him on to run after Michele.
“I mean …” Another sigh, this time more of an angry snort. “I would prefer to not have heard it, but … what is done is done. Pretending that it isn’t wouldn’t change much, I can fool myself. I don’t need Michele for this.”
Lovino’s brows furrowed while the rest of his features softened. I wouldn’t have fooled you, he thought. Maybe he should have run to him the night before the wedding. To hell with Michele and his secrets, Antonio would have deserved the truth.
The noises from the other side had stopped. At least that torture was over. Lovino turned on his back and clutched the pillow against his chest instead. “You are a saint,” he said. “Michele doesn’t know what he’s missing.” He didn’t dare look at Antonio. “And I’m the fucking Virgin Mary for putting up with all of it!”
Antonio laughed. “Yes you are. Thank you, Lovino. I appreciate it and I’m sure that Michele does so, too.”
He snorted. “Psht. Yeah, sure.”
“When you get married, I’ll be your best man, yes? To pay back all you gave me.”
Lovino’s heart sank into his guts. “Yeah, sure.”
Antonio put the candle out. “Good night, Lovino.”
Lovino stared into the dark. He could hear indistinct murmurs from the other room between the lovers. “Good night … Antonio.”

Southern Magnamiel:
"Chaos!"
A miniature blizzard saturated in darkness cuts through the mountain air, blowing apart a particularly large crowd of ghosts before they can do anything to the family of cats and pair of Lakitu tourists they'd cornered. As the strange spell finishes, its caster is revealed; a lanky brown cat in strange half-armored red and white clothes and a ragged cape. She turns to address them.
"There's a guard house two streets west, you'll be safer there."
The group makes haste after taking a few brief moments to thank her for saving them, and once they're gone she glares up at the unnatural storm.
After she'd found Tiresias's note, Dapple's fine-tuned adventurer's instincts had intuited that things were about to go to shit, most likely due to whatever the hell Damian must have been doing that involved messing with everyone's heads so they'd ignore the massive red flags he'd been waving around. So, she'd begun making her way through the mountains towards Devos, changing into her old outfit (though not her old species) since her usual dress isn't exactly Proper Adventuring Attire.
And of course, a few hours in, all hell breaks loose, and quite literally from the looks of it. A thick layer of sickly green clouds hangs over the entire continent, blocking out the sun, with the only breaks in it being nine swirling, glowing vortexes that are hemorrhaging ghosts. Mostly cats, of course, but a massive number of the various monsters and magical creatures that inhabit Harmonia as well. If she remembers her geography lessons properly, the nearest of them is somewhere above the border between Magnamiel and Luminos, while the largest is in the middle of Devos, maybe a bit to the west. That one makes the most sense as her target, especially since she'd been going there anyway.
Path now set, she takes off at a run.
-------------
Eastern Devos
...Yeah not sure what to actually put here so I'll just say that Tonio and Piper are making good use of their new ghost-hunting tech and fighting their way across the kingdom towards either the castle or the seal, depending on where Damien/Disc is at the moment. They're being guided by Tonio's "intuition" (aka undiagnosed clairvoyance), so they've got a good idea of where they need to go but I don't.
------------
Cilcia's Capital
"Hold your ground, men!"
The battalion of royal guards do their best to keep formation in the face of their spectral enemies, bravely defending the civilians behind them with blade and shield and song as they evacuate to the designated shelters. They're vastly outnumbered, however, the force spread thin across the sprawling city, and they're slowly but surely losing ground.
And then a massive blur of greens and browns surges in, the telltale glint of polished steel on either side of it, and dives straight into the spectral tide, sending the ghosts into a frenzy that causes most of them to take their attention off the soldiers.
After several moments of chaos punctuated by unholy shrieks and the clashing of blades, the ghosts scatter, revealing the battalion's savior.
What they see is a brown, vaguely birdlike creature as tall as a building, draped in a heavy green cloak with a matching (and rather stylish) wide-brimmed hat. A light brown scarf with ragged ends trails behind it, waving in the wind, and in its three-clawed hands is a pair of long bladed weapons with oddly shaped handles... recognizable to some as the separated halves of a massive pair of gardening shears. When the creature is first revealed, one of these blades is stabbed clean through the ghost of a Cymbal Troll, which seems to be absorbed into it.
It looks out over the group, its glowing blue eyes seeming to pierce into their souls, then nods once and runs once more down the street, leaving them to wonder exactly what sort of god just saved them.
As he runs, ClearAll grumbles under his breath. Just his luck that he'd decide to come here for a change of scenery the exact same day that some moron decides to start up some kind of ghost apocalypse. And worse, if he's correctly reading the code signature of the static interference that's blocking his portals, he knows exactly which moron it is. It had admittedly taken him a few minutes to recognize the signature, but to be fair it'd been well over a decade outside the computer and relative centuries inside, and the program in question hadn't been particularly memorable apart from the company they kept. Even now he couldn't remember the poor fool's name.
Rolling his eyes, he briefly goes over his list of priorities. Firstly, the thing he's been doing; traveling through the city and aiding anyone who's being overwhelmed by the ghosts, mostly by gathering the wayward souls into his shears to deposit into this world's afterlife once it's re-sealed. Steps two and three are to actually do said re-sealing and kick the moron's ass, the order depending on which makes sense to do first at the time, hopefully with the aid of this world's heroes.
He'd love to go beyond an ass-kicking, frankly, but while he feels that the moron's time has long since passed his programming disagrees. Of course, given just how many powerful people this scheme would piss off, he felt confident in predicting that their time is at least fast approaching.
His gaze flicks to the side, detecting a mass of incoming deaths that Need Not Be, and he shifts trajectory and readies himself for another bout.
------------
Luminos Castle, moments after the ritual
As the bizarre green clouds roll in, Ash tears his gaze away from the panicking Admin and her patient, closing his eyes to get a good look at what's happening in the sky with Aura Sight, and gasps.
"Incoming!"
Less than a second later, the vortexes appear and the ghosts come pouring out. While most of them spread out across the continent, large clusters seem to specifically target the Capital cities of each kingdom (except, rather expectedly, in Devos and Desiderio), and as a result the castle is about to get absolutely swarmed.
There's a series of flashes as the three Trainers let out several of their Pokémon.
Miku is the first to start dishing out orders, turning her attention to her oddly green-tinged Dragonair, "Night Concert variation G-7, with light show. Cover as much of the castle as you can."
Dragonair nods and shoots out through the nearest open window, and soon enough the air around the castle grounds comes alive as she weaves together an intricate, maze-like array of barrier moves, Tailwind, Aurora Veil, and even a few seemingly randomly-placed bubbles of Trick Room. While this blocks the main bulk of the spectral swarm, at least for now, several are either fast enough to have gotten past before the full blockade was up or crafty enough to make their way through without having to brute-force it.
Which is where the rest of the group comes in, having already gone outside to meet the ghosts head on.
"Golduck, Bob-ulk, Flash Cannon barrage!"
Exactly as Jet had ordered, the rage-fueled kappa and oversized purple mortar shell fire dozens of orbs of silvery energy up into the swarm which detonate as they hit, causing the weakest of the ghosts to dematerialize entirely and the rest of them to be scattered and disoriented. This makes them prime targets for the projectiles of the other Pokémon, though some ghosts seem to resist or outright ignore some attacks.
With another round of Aura Sight, Ash works out what's going on, "Guys, it looks like some of them have an extra type! It's probably based on what kind of magic they specialized in when they were alive."
That fits with my observations, comes a telepathic reply, Most of the ones that are ignoring our electric attacks are wearing Monaxian fashion, from what I can see.
The telepath in question is Jellibelum, Ash's fully evolved Donandan Water Starter. The Jellyfish part is now as large as Bob-ulk with eight tendrils coming off of it, four coming from the bottom "lip" of the bowl and acting as legs, while the other four come from the sides (as defined by the way the goldfish is facing) and all eight have three finger(or toe)-like phalanges positioned around an opening at their bulbous ends. The goldfish part's brainlike crest is significantly larger, and now attached to the jellyfish by what look like nerves, while the main body is now long and thin, with the tail fins atrophying to almost nothing (they're not exactly all that necessary now that the two organisms are one and the fish outright can't leave the bowl), while the dorsal fin is now long, white, and drapes horizontally like a cape, though with the pectoral fins doing something similar it all comes together to look more like a labcoat.
Anyway, with their new strategic knowledge they make reasonably short work of the ghosts inside the castle grounds, and with the blockade holding for now (especially with Dragonair continuing to refresh and redesign it even as the ghosts keep picking away at it) most of them head back inside to discuss what the hell is going on, and hopefully figure out a plan. Though a few Pokémon do stay outside to help the guards with any ghosts that do make it through, including Ash's Kirlia and Krookodile (because Dark Type) and Jet's Eevee (because Normal Type's ghost immunity).
(Also, Ash finds out about the interference that Disc is causing (whether intentionally or not) when he tries and fails to open a small portal so he can transfer in more of his Pokémon, and it's then confirmed when one of Melody's aides shows up to inform them that the Hyperlink Gate isn't working.)

I LOVE LORETTA OMG ANYWAYS DO HER AND TONIO DO LIL DINNER DATES??? WHAT DOES HE LIKE MAKING FOR HER???
-@love-overdrive
EEEEE YAYAYYAYAYAYAYAY !!!!!!
I’m glad you like her !!!!!
and they definitely go on dinner dates! I think that they first met at Tonio’s restaurant, where loretta went after “hearin’ all about it everywhere, hun!”
He makes her something different every time, because she loves food and traveling is one of her interests! So they love to cook and eat new dishes together!
She’s never been to Italy, but it’s on her list of places to go, so she was delighted to find authentic Italian cuisine right in morioh!

DiU AU where Tonio has an apprentice with the stand called Lemon Demon. They could've met when Tonio was travelling around the world and followed him to Morioh, and now they help him in his restaurant when there's a lot of people or he's sick.
I don’t have many ideas as what the stand could be, maybe it'd be similar to Tonio in that they have to cook something to achieve an effect, but this effect would be much more silly and probably less grotesque while also having much less "power" so to speak. It'd be funny for the morioh gang to guess what the effect would look like, they could even make bets on it xD
Maybe Tonio could also see them as sort of like the younger sibling he never had(?) Idk man I just want Tonio to be happy
- 👾💥
Ooooooooooo that's a fun idea
maybe instead of replacing the tissue like Pearl Jam it simply boosts the vitality. So while it's less graphic and disturbing, it isn't afforded the same sheer power as his

Had the idea that, much like how he didn't bother to reveal Tama's Blessing until he was directly asked, Lumiere knows that Dapple is originally from another world (like he said, he did hear everything about the Avatars' little adventure in the Echo Chambers), but isn't about to volunteer more information than he absolutely has to. That sort of knowledge is Power in an alliance this strained, after all, and he's clearly already seen where he stands in the pecking order.
On Disk's end, not only is he not aware of who Dapple used to be, that his rewrites don't work on her, or that she's the one harboring Tiresias, but he's also somehow completely oblivious to the fact that she thinks he's a creep (it helps that she's a performer and knows full well to avoid potentially offending royalty and possibly causing an international incident, so when she absolutely can't avoid interacting with him she's able to mask most of how she really feels while his own ego and confirmation bias covers the rest).
This also means that he doesn't yet know about Bolero and Peony being wary of him, since that directly came from Dapple's situation.
(and of course there's Tonio and (potentially) Piper as the ultimate wildcards, since Tonio's got similar defenses to Tiresias but was far less confrontational about it so Damien has no idea and Piper's both an Off-worlder and since her only substantial interactions with Harmonia have been with Tonio himself, her theft victims, and occasionally law enforcement, she and Damien aren't even on each-other's radars currently, unlike the other Avatars and their friends who Damien is at least aware are something he needs to account for potentially being involved when The Plan begins in earnest)
Ooo!! I love this a lot!! The idea of Lumiere knowing stuff that Damien/Disc doesn't purely because it slowly makes Lumiere assured in his reasoning that, yeah, Damien has no idea what he's doing.
Ough I love all of this,, eats it up

the only person destonio cared for all of his life was always lumine/fate. he never gave a shit abt anyone else but her. but then techni came into the picture, and bc at the time destonio was trying to better himself, he decided to open up to techni immediately. technicolour is probably the only other person other than fate destonio genuinely gave a fuck abt. destonio really does give a fuck. but only to fate and technicolour.

Had ideas for a few post-arc scenes that I don't currently have the energy to write;
-Ash setting Tama up with a provisional trainer license (basically lets her have Pokemon registered to her despite not being ten yet but she can't do Major Official Trainer Activities like gym challenges, contests, Battle Facilities, etc.) because the Pokemon who've been hanging out with her very much want her to be their trainer. Magcargo's kind of the odd one out since he's only been around her for like an hour cumulatively and he kind of got dragged into this without any idea what was happening but he's still interested because she seems nice. There's some concern about Hoopa staying since he has friends in Dahara City in Kalos... until he points out that Hyperspace Hole still exists and he can come and go literally whenever.
Pikachu officially passes on the role of the Pichu Brothers' chaos wrangler to Absol, in a slightly funny moment where he tries to be all serious about it and put his hand on her shoulder all dramatically, ruined by the fact that he's so much shorter than her that he has to balance awkwardly on his tail to even reach her shoulder (and further undercut by the fact that what he actually says is "they're your problem now. good luck". Also, there is of course much gushing over Gardevoir, Guardeon and Dragaurora's evolutions.
-One of the suggestions for Devos's situation is putting Tonio on the throne, which both he and Valiant are adamantly against because favored by the Muses or not a guy who's been a wandering outlaw and proud of it for nearly a decade is not a good choice for ruling a kingdom in turmoil. Plus having a Songbird as a king would just be weird.
-Kelsie gets Vitality set up in the infirmary and assures everyone that she's expected to make a full recovery eventually, though from what she can tell of how the whole healing flame thing is working it'll take anywhere from one month to three for her to wake up. Then when she's alone she calls Director K to let him know that her reports will be less frequent for the foreseeable future since with Vitality out of commission she's the only medic right now.
-Mr. L presents the completed Meme Suppression Bullets to Jayin, warning her that it will take a few weeks for the virus they're made out of to complete its work. She's not too fussed about that, they'd expected and planned for something like that after all, and sends for her firewalls and their assistants, leading directly into That One Post.
