Hogwarts Houses

Vanessa O'Connor (Teen Wolf)

I actually asked my readers this question at the end of Breathe for Me, and they all agreed that Nessa was, above all, a Slytherin.

She is not above going behind her friends backs to do what she thinks is the right thing.

She has schemes on top of schemes on top of more schemes. She is always scheming. She is not afraid to bluff around with werewolves.

She values fraternity, one of Slytherin's core but arguably more underrated traits. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her friends and she always has their back and interest at heart.

However, she also shares the Ravenclaw value of wisdom, believing whole heartedly that knowledge is power. Those that seek it oft find themselves in the house of the raven.

Serina Seda (Star Wars)

Serina is a mediator. Her goals when it comes to conflict are to ensure that there is respect and understanding in both sides.

She is hardworking and holds selflessness within herself and others in great esteem, and struggles with personal desires and wants. She is usually the picture of patience, especially in comparison to her more impulsive and ferocious counterpart, Ahsoka Tano.

However, as the war progresses, the badger's predatory instincts awaken.

Make no mistake of her peaceful nature - Serina is not above displaying ruthlessness is battle. She will take the high ground to fight for her cause. She will match her opponents for everything they have - she views it as a sign of respect for battling such an adversary.

She is much a Hufflepuff because of her inclusive and open-minded nature. Her friendliness and wellness cannot help but extend to those casted out by others, even reaching so far as the dark side of the Force.

Louise "Lou" Hammond (X-Men)

The first thing that Lou Hammond did when she fell through Blooper's portal and arrived in the year 1960 was learn everything she could about the world she now lived in. History became her most focused subject, something she came to excel in.

Her reading and writing range was not as rounded as others her age - spending most of your childhood on the run did not give her time to get much of an education - but she tried to sharpen her mind however she could. She collected old books on her travels and practiced her reading and writing with blunt and sometimes half empty writing tools she could find in her travels.

She valued maintaining her skills as well as maintaining her survival through the years, which helped in aiding herself and other street rat mutant children in blending in with humans, back before the Sentinel program grew to the extent it did when she left the year 2021.

She evaded questions with her charm and wit, eventually surpassing the rest of her peers by the time she graduated (two years after coming through Blooper's portal). She was given a scholarship for her academic achievements and was entering her freshman year in University when she met Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, who looked remarkably younger from when she has seen them last.

Still, knowledge was power and she was able to offer up both her telekinetic abilities and her skills of deduction to the X-Men's cause, all the while keeping the true source of her knowledge close to her chest.

Kindred Blanche (Fairy Tail)

I've talked about Kindred's heart of gold but let me put it into perspective. What you call a god complex, Kindred sees as fighting for people's second chances. To become something or someone different than what destiny and past traumas forced them into.

She is the older sister type, not only to her natural born kin but also to every stray that she sees on the side of the road. No kid should be left behind and so she's the one who picks them, takes them home, settles them in a room and takes care of them.

Kindred may look and act fearless but it is only because someone needs to stand strong in the face of evil. Her legs might shake and her voice might break every now and then, but the true sign of a Gryffindor is that they persevere.

Kindred's the type who will extend a hand out to her enemies after a fight. She will visit them in the infirmary and apologize for going to strong. She backs up her words with her actions, and always follows through on her promises.

She has a lot of nerve for someone so young, asking so much of people but she always gives back. Her loyalty, and the loyalty of her Guild, is easily won by gestures of almost stupid-levels of bravery but it is a loyalty that is worth more than entire kingdoms could conjure.

Ask of the day: what order do you write in? Front of book to back? Chronological? Favorite scenes first? Something else?

I'm sorry it took so long for me to answer, I saved the ask in my drafts but I forgot that it was on my main blog so it has been left sitting amongst the Taylor Swift tag games that I have yet to participate in 💕😊

What order do I typically write in?

I'm usually boring. My brain isn't big enough to pull any tricks like flash forward or anything like that, so I write chronologically, front to back. Standard stuff.

However, there is one signature move that I like to pull out in both my fics and original work and that is the Prologue.

The Prologue is where I always start, where I always focus on writing. I might list the general overview of scenes, or have events in mind that I would like to see in the story but I don't actually write anything until I finish the Prologue.

Most of my works have a prologue that takes place before the main plot:

- Lessons of Needles and Blades: The prologue opens during the Battle of the Long Night/ The Battle of Winterfell and than ends on a cliffhanger when Sansa Stark dies with the last prayer on her lips, ultimately sending her back to the past where the main plot begins.

- a more savage narnia (than the one you left behind): The prologue opens up a year before the events of Prince Caspian takes place where Caspian and Sylvia are finally told the story of the Old Narnians, foreshadowing their eventual meeting.

Other works in scaffolding that feature the prologue taking place before the main plot include:

Born in a Thunderstorm: The prologue opens during a thunderstorm and features the birth of the OC, Carina Gunner, eleven years before the fall of Wall Maria and the main plot takes off.

Blooperverse: The prologue opens during a Sentinel raid of a secret government facility, resulting in the deaths of OC, Lou Hammond's parents and the origin of her powers, six years before the main plot takes off.

The Seda Series: The prologue opens during the Apprentice Trials where we are introduced to our OC, Serina Seda as she graduates from a Youngling to a potential Jedi Padawan, foreshadowing her eventual assignment to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi a few months in the future.

To me, the prologue kind of shows pieces of the story that is vague enough to not give everything away but detailed enough that it gives the readers insight into the setting and characters, prompting them to read on.

OC Ask: how would you think your Lou Hammond would interact with my Ian Moone?

Would they be friends? Allies? Enemies? Some sort of pain-in-the-ass but I-love-you-the-same?

🔀 Ian Moone (Azrael, Angel of Death) / Louise “Lou” Hammond (X-Men)

Ian always seems to pop up wherever war and conflict is afoot, so if I had to guess, I could imagine her siding with Erik/Magneto in the aftermath of X-Men: First Class.

Which probably means that Lou and Ian would be considered enemies and would definitely face off in a fight since she would be one of the X-Men that actually stands a chance of surviving a hand-to-hand encounter with the Angel of Death.

However, by Apocalypse (the 80s), I can imagine that with the disbanding of the Brotherhood, Magneto's reclusiveness, and a common enemy on the horizon, Ian and Lou would find themselves uniting against Apocalypse.

They probably would have settled things between them back in the 70s because by that point - what with most of Lou's friends/enemies being hunted down by Trask Industries or being caught up in Vietnam - everyone would have just been relieved to know a fellow mutant who's still alive.

By the 80s, I can imagine them getting a drink at the pub and revelling in their old face offs like "remember the last time I threw you through a wall? good times" or "remember that time you broke your hand on my face?"

Ian has a soft spot for kids right? That will be the factor that will probably unite them - preventing Trask or any other player in the game from manipulating and experimenting on mutant children.

So to answer your question, yes. I believe that Lou and Ian would be enemies, tentative allies united under a single purpose against a common enemy, departing with a fond relationship of pain-in-the-ass but I-love- you all the same.

Lou, in a strange way that only former foes could, would miss Ian when she's gone and would remember their fights with a smile and drink in hand.

X-Men OCs: What Wishes They Would Make?

Louise "Lou" Hammond ||

I think that Lou would wish for peace between mutantkind and humans.

She just wants to teach her students to love themselves without them getting attacked whenever they leave to visit the local mall, is that too much to ask?

To come home to Alex and not be dreading the call for another mission.

She just wants her friends and loved ones to live as normal people while still loving themselves as they are: mutant and proud.

Johanna "Jo" Ferguson

For Jo, she would definitely wish for her father to be alive, and for him, her mother and her uncle to join her safely in the past.

She wants the best of both worlds - the family that she made in the 80s following the fight with Apocalypse and for the family she lost in the future to the Sentinels.

She just wants them all to be together and happy, wants them to know a world where they don't have to smuggle themselves over seas to escape Sentinels, or don't have to build a mutant underground to help each other survive.

Casey Cassidy

Casey was a bit difficult. Of course, she would want to see her mother again but what she secretly wants more than anything is to be stronger, tougher.

After graduating from Xavier's Academy and going through the second biggest heartbreak of her life, she envies the way that her friends carry themselves.

She wants to be as indifferent to things as Jo and as accepting as Lou. She wants her heart to harden to such things as love and betrayal, to rejection and heartache.

OC ASKS: For another Athena and Lou crossover, where would they go and what would they do on this UK trip!!

I'm both intrigued and excited to hear your thoughts and I would love to talk more crossover headcanons with you, I absolutely adore this little friendship AU between Athena and Lou!!!

Okay, so first stop is England, and Athena will take Lou to all the tourist-y things in London, but then will show her her favourite underrated places - including bookshops.

She'd take her to Brighton beach first then London.

If tours are going on at Oxford and Cambridge Athena takes Lou there as well.

They go to Wales and stay in a pub hotel for a bit.

Then they enter England again and Athena would show Lou her hometown in Blackpool, ignoring her parents, so they go there then up to Scotland.

Athena hasn't been to Scotland before, so this time it's a new experience for both of them.

They’d do a lot of exploring and get lost a lot lol in every county

I think they'd make it a month long trip.

Since they don’t go to Northern Ireland, it’s more of a Britain trip lol.

When Lou Hammond was a little girl, her mother used to read her 'Alice in Wonderland' before bed every night. Than her mother was killed by the Sentinels, along with every other staff member in the secret government building Lou was raised in.

Years later, Lou and her friends were hiding out in an abandoned manor in Scarsdale, New York when the Sentinel scouts discovered them, forcing Lou and her best friend Johanna Ferguson to take drastic measures.

Jo opened up a portal back in time and Lou lured the Sentinels through.

Now, Lou finds herself as Alice in the Wonderland that is the 1960s and she is determined to navigate the past in order to change the future to prevent mutant-kind's extinction.

An Abandoned Building in Scarsdale, New York ( 2021 )

A pair of rough hands jostled her from her dream and her eyes snapped open. The first thing she saw was a curtain of magenta hair. Two pairs of neon green eyes glared down at her and for a moment, Lou Hammond could not tell them apart from the hellish red ones she had left behind in her nightmare.

No, not her nightmare. Her memory.

She recoiled from those rough hands and scrambled back against the wall, almost kicking her friend in the process. Johanna Ferguson leaned out of the way from her flying boots with her nose scrunched up in disgust and pushed off the floor.

“Is she awake?” A sweet voice whispered from the darkness of the room. “Is she alright?”

Lou squinted in the dark and pushed her dirty blonde hair away from her face to see the other girl better. Huddled in the corner of the far side of the room crouched Casey Cassidy. Her friend peered back at her, waiting for a response from either herself or the angry purple-haired girl.

“Yes, to both,” Jo answered briskly on her behalf, the reply coming out as a rough rasp. “Now that we’ve checked off the list, we need to hurry.”

The last bit was directed towards Lou, who slowly slipped her jean-clad legs out from the thin, moth-eaten cloth she had been using as a blanket. She dug her palms into her eyes in a rough attempt to dig out the sleep that crusted them and groaned, “Why?!”

“Sentinel Scouts.”

That woke her up.

Lou lifted her head, her vision clearing up. “How soon?”

“We need a shield up. Now!”

Louise "Lou" Hammond Headcanons

Mutation

+ [ [ Note: her mutation is like a hybrid of Colossus, Emma Frost and Jean Gray. ] ]

+ Mutant Physiology:

Can convert the organic tissue of her body to any metallic substance that she makes contact with.

Her standard organic form is of a steel-like substance that is currently permanent on both her legs up to just above her knees and on both her arms to just above her elbow, requiring her to wear stockings and gloves to hide her mutation.

However, it is suggested that over time, she might be able to control it to revert back to her natural, human form completely.

It is easier and her preferred method to only convert separate body parts such as arms and legs to steel.

+ Psychic Force-Field Generation:

Can generate force-fields using psychic energy to protect herself and others from physical, mental or mutant attacks.

Her forcefields appear as bright blue translucent forms that resemble spheres (completely engulfing herself or others) or shield-like shapes (quick, frontal defences).

Her shields can deflect huge physical objects, weapons and debris as well as deflecting the impact from explosions, fire, water and poisonous gases.

Her force-fields can absorb both cosmic and nuclear energy.

They are completely impenetrable from physical, external forces (with some exceptions).

With a complete Force-field, she and others protected are impervious to psychic communication, influence or attacks.

Weaknesses

Metal Manipulation: Her metallic form and body parts are susceptible to mutations that involve metallic manipulation (e.g. Magneto's mutation).

Vibranium: Her metal skin is vulnerable to the anti-metal Vibranium.

Adamantium: Can be damaged when attacked by something made from or bonded with Adamantium (e.g. Wolverine's Adamantium-bonded claws).

Sleep: While asleep or unconscious, she completely reverts back to her human form, even her seemingly-permanent metal body parts. She is most vulnerable when she asleep.

Psychic Energy Absorption: Her force-fields absorb both cosmic and nuclear energy at the expense of the shield itself, damaging, weakening or even destroying it completely depending on strength.

Unable to Maintain Metallic Form: When using her force-fields, she is unable to hold a complete metallic form as the upmost concentration is used to maintain her force-fields.

Draining/Concentration: Maintain bigger and longer-lasting force-fields requires utmost concentration and is physically/mentally draining.

Airtight Force-fields: If being airtight, it may cause asphyxiation after prolonged use.

Origin Story

+ Louise "Lou" Hammond was born on February 10th, 2005 to parents Robert and Mary Hammond. In 2015, Lou (10) and her parents were located at a secret government facility in Portland, Maine when it was attacked by a group of Sentinels.

+ The entire staff was hunted and massacred, presumably for the mutant-related research centred in the building. Lou's parents attempted to evacuate her from the site but were caught and promptly killed in front of Lou.

+ When a Sentinel attempted to eliminate her, Lou's mutation was activated as a defence mechanism, causing her to produce her first shield. It was also when her physical mutation was activated, causing her arms and legs to take on a permanent metallic form.

+ Unbeknownst to Lou, her shield interfered with the Sentinel's sensors and they were unable to to properly identify her as a target, which caused them to leave soon after with the report that they finished their mission.

+ A few weeks after, Lou met fellow mutants Johanna "Jo" Ferguson, whose parents were previously part of the mutant underground and Casey Cassidy, whose mother previously attended Xavier's School.
