Kaysha what's her role and why do you decides to pair her with leo

Love interest (I KNOW THROW THOSE TOMATOES BUT HERE ME OUT) but I feel like Leo needs someone who like treats him like an actual person. Not dutiful heir, or responsible put-upon older brother, or powerful ninja. Someone accepts Leo for his flaws & quirks. In turn Leo comes to see for all her flaws, she's a genuinely good person and it's ok to have an identity outside roles.

I didn't want Kaysha to have the exact same personality as Leo, I wanted her to have her own little arc of becoming a kunoichi & her self worth beyond the tangible. She also NEVER becomes a mutant. But also I find their dynamic to be cute. Bubbly feisty go-getter x dutiful leader like....it writes itself!

I always think about Kaysha in the rottmnt but I rarely consider thinking what her arc could be in the 2012 turtles. It could be the same as her 03 version where she doesn't know about the turtles until the City at War, and from there it serves as a catalyst for her ninja training.

But I was also thinking she could be another type of fighter in the 2012 version: one who doesn't use weapons or fists but with her spirit. She values trust and communication and wears her heart on her sleeves so she get frustrated at how the turtles treat one another or how April and Donnie don't know how to express their feelings towards another. Not saying she'd be everyone's therapist but she sets an example of what to do and what NOT to do.

Marianne "Maria" Mauveine (blonde), Zora Josephine "Muse" Wallace (right, formerly Kaysha Wallace) and Marcus Dubois (left).

Since there's a crossover with tmnt and power Rangers - my two most favorite franchises - I want to revamp my OCs for them. Maria used to be Maria Sanchez though now she's renamed Mauveine (a shade of purple). Blonde isn't her natural hair color it's just her preferred one since shee likes dying her hair. She's still the purple ranger.

I changed Kaysha's name to Zora (Neale Hurston) and Josephine (Baker, yesterday was her birthday). If you know a bit of history those names should be familiar to a certain movement: the Harlem Renaissance. I thought about nicknaming her Harlem but I feel like Muse is better because what's an artist without a muse? Or Catwalk since she's a fashionista.

Marcus is their mutual friend and is NOT a ranger or a mutant or anything. He's just the obligatory normal friend. Think of Jimmy Olsen + Tucker Foley (without the Fartman's influence). He's named for Marcus Garvey and W.E.B. Du Bois.

Tallulah an oc I made for Monster High id part werewolf which technically makes her a monster but she can't turn into one. She doesn't even had werewolf traits she is human. Her sister on of the other hand can turn into a lycan.

In my au Lloyd's mother is not Misako but a lady named Bashira. She was frozen in stone and had Lloyd taken from her bc her village feared her son. Misako and Wu tried years to find him and that's where the first season comes up where Lloyd learns of his mom. Also bc Misako x Garmadon is so fucking BORING

Because of the shoddy way Arcee and Blackarachnia were written it motivated me to give my female OCs complicated backstories and personalities that didn't revolve around a guy or manpain

After s8 and such Lord Garmadon comes back and shacks up with Odette's family. Her sister Leilani befriends him and Garmadon may have a chance to redeem himself even if he can't access his human form anymore.

In my version of The Amazing Spiderman Gwen Stacy lives because it's my oc Vesta that gets kidnapped by Green Goblin and dies. She comes back in Homecoming as Wolf-Spider in a grand rescuing Michelle from a similar fate; reuniting with Her world's Peter but can't be with him bc she's now helping guard the multiverse from Scarlet Bitch

On plan I had for Rosslyn (my oc for alpha teebs on machines) was for her to be a clone of Mr. Lee's late wife Rosanne. But this was scrapped bc it was too obvious a twist plus I doubt Lee would clone his own wife.

Noelani was originally conceived as Chris Thorndyke's teenage sister and would replace him as the main human. I changed so much of her by then especially to distance her from that shitstain.

An idea I had for Jojo Part 9 was for Jolyne Kujo's mother (Jotaro's ex) to be the main antagonist. Her goal was to avenge Jolyne's death by leading a campaign against stand users seeing them as too dangerous, as well as plotting to wipe out the rest of the Brando family so they can't hurt anyone ever again. My main JOJO, Josephine "Josie, wouldve opposed her alongside her friend Gia Brando (Dio's granddaughter), Josuke 8 and Yasuho.

💞 VI - The Lovers : Sympathetic relationships, sexuality, self-discovery, solidification of personal beliefs, facing moral choices.

Okay so a lot of Lovers traits shape the KayLeo romance in that Kaysha comes to understand Leo's frustration and goes out of her way to not give him a hard time. But he reassures her that she's not a burden then she says he shouldn't shoulder all the responsibility either. So learning to come to a better understanding allows Kaysha to prove her worth as a ninja - to hopefully be on his level in terms of skills and not to get into his shell.

Moon: Kaysha at first thinks being a ninja is cool and easy stuff but she finds that it is a lot harder than she imagined. So there are times she actually loses her patience when she fails and feels like giving up. Then mething bad happens Leo gets thrown out the window that causes her to take her training more seriously. She's also afraid she might not measure up as they face bigger and powerful threats.

How would the writers do Jora, Kaysha and Vanessa dirty?

They wouldn't have any meaningful development or simply erased from the story just for the crime of being black female characters lmao but to be more specific:

Jora

- She wouldn't even exist because there's no named black female characters in the classic continuity lol

- lighten her skin tone

- Suddenly Cured

- ends up turning evil because hey if her powers are considered bad in other media than SHE has to be bad too

- her origins are retconned to alien heritage because heavens forbid we have a protagonist who is actually full-human or have their own motif

- only role to be a member of the ben harem

- written off as worthless & undeserving of the hero's love

- weak and useless because she's shy and timid and totally incapable of fighting back

- no growth or development

- her powers are played as a joke

- slimmed down to look like a literal Black Gwen

- last minute paired with alan or cooper as a consolation prize even though she has a close friendship with those two

- used as an obstacle to gwevin/benlie/whatever

- nerfed or nothing

Kaysha

- Would be slimmed down because fat people doing exercise and combat are too "unrealistic"

- food jokes and how unattractive she is; she's trying too hard to be feminine

- whitewashed

- Her relationships with the other turtles and characters wouldn't get any attention in favor of having her interact only with Leo

She and April have a love triangle/straight hate each other even though Kaysha was the first outsider to support April & the Ninja Turtles

- flirts with EVERY guy even ones she canonically sees as friends or brother-figures

- the dumb bimbo instead of a kind bubbly kunoichi who takes her duties seriously

- total jerk to everyone around her even her love interest

- tries to force her views on other people

- secretly evil/working for her father Regis Blackgaard (whom in "canon" she hates with icy rage)

- hates people of other religions & atheists

- or she is a hypocritical zealot who looks down on connie, eugene and katrina

- Token who simply exists to solve all the white people's problems while getting nothing in return

- only exists to be Jason's love interest; has no character arc outside of romance

- her former past as a nun and her current career as an artist gets no attention at all

- somehow hates all of Jason's past love and takes any moment to talk down to them

- easily accepts j*ll*an's nonsense and become insta-besties even excusing the latter flirting with her husband

- all of her quirks such as her using an umbrella in broad daylight, love of coffee ice cream, and desire for adventure are erase in favor of...

- ...becoming the local Fun Police all because she's a bit more serious and mature than majority of the cast

Personality

Most iterations of Kaysha depicts her as a bubbly and passionate young woman. Her biggest flaws can be her hidden insecurities and tendencies to be a drama queen. She can also get frustrated easily if things don't go her way. Later on, she becomes more patient and brave, learning to keep herself levelheaded on missions and real world. A true romanticist at heart, Kaysha always tries her best to see the positive side of things. She has a thing for "shipping" people and encourages folks to find their true love. Not much can bring her down.

Abilities

In every continuity she's in, Kaysha does not develop superpowers. This leaves her with normal human weaknesses and limitations.

Her preferred weapons are bladed war fans and tanto, and she is adept at close range. She lacks long range and is not a fast agile fighter, so she relies on quick thinking, stealth and evasion tactics.

Another skill she possesses is using her knowledge of fashion to create intricate disguises. This is especially helpful in undercover missions. Her friendly demeanor allows her to communicate with allies easily.

Backstory: Her backstory involves her being a vocal opponent of the Purple Dragons, unwilling to see her brothers fall victim to gang violence. Due to the nature of the franchise the exact story of how she met the turtles changes. Typically, she would meet them either completely on accident or they save her from a bad guy and her curiosity gets the better of her and she goes to look for her mysterious rescuers.

- She doesn't trust hair salons

- Kaysha is a fan of baseball, even thought of giving her a bat as a mean weapon but I didn't want to copy Casey's schtick

- Kaysha never turns into a mutant, I don't want to change a fundamental part of her character

- In Bayverse Kaysha is a blogger who highlights urban legends and cryptids

- 2003!Kaysha appears in s1 but does not know about the turtles yet. She does find out in season 2, which later kicks off her arc of becoming a kunoichi

- 2012!Kaysha is by far the youngest at around 14 years old; most others are 17/18 depending on the Turtles's age range

- Originally she was going to wield a katana to match up with Leo before I decided to give her a personal weapon

- She was also going to be the long range fighter but a found a lot of girl characters have long range/arrows so Kaysha has a melee weapon

- The Tessen idea came from the 2012 meaning; the significance for Kaysha's tessens is her confidence and comfort in her battle style

- Rise!Kaysha uses hearts in her design (shoulders, face shape, earrings)

- 87!Kaysha is a roommate of Mona Lisa and not paired with Leo

- Kaysha was written to be a love interest for Raph before I switched him with Leo

- Her original color was cyan/light green because she was something of a replacement to Venus de Milo

Screw it im sticking to candy colors ✌✌✌ i wanted to add a touch of green to signify her allegiance with the Hamato clan. Even plastered the symbol on it?l! Tbf given her personality she wouldn't be wearing dark muted colors & the show has bright colorful characters anyways so I guess why not? 🤷 I got rid of the mask since it didn't look good but overall im super proud of this design! 😁😁
