Me, still on about my OCs: -so anyways you could draw comparisons between Derrek and Lawrence in that they were both wielded by the sword more often than the other way around and now they don’t know what they’re doing with their lives, but that would be like comparing Melanie and PB just because they’re old and get attached to people despite themselves. While Derrek is a somewhat active character, Lawrence is nearly entirely passive, and this plays through his entire story, in that almost everything he’s done has been because someone else told him to. When Sean brought him back, him choosing to help raise the kids was a turning point for him, and as much as he may think he’s fallen back into exactly the person he used to be, the family that found him has changed him. The very fact that he feels guilty is probably a growth, and as much as he may compare himself to Geryon, that’s a very significant place where they differ. To steal a phrase I’ve used before, g’s spent his entire life digging someone’s grave. Either his own or someone else’s. Geryon has always been a somewhat active character (even if he seems passive half the time, in practice), and he isn’t sorry for a thing he’s done. He has regrets, of course, but those are because the actions he chose hurt him later on, or, in some cases, got him killed twice, from different parts of the chain of events. Similarly, Ericke’s only regrets came back to bite him, and-

Just remembered that hereditary magic that went through a bunch of the Phalgon fauns where like. Stereotypical syrens who would be able to draw people in w their voices? That but it didn’t matter what they sang. And it would creep into their voice whenever they spoke, too. The Lady of Phalgon Deep is silent for a reason.

Selis started as ‘kid who you will find in your dumpster’ to ‘fluffy kid who you will find in your dumpster and is hard to miss because they’re wearing more neon than is morally allowed and proud of it’.
