As always, she spotted Auggie before Auggie spotted her - those windswept bronze curls, the color of sunset and rust and sunflowers. The color of happiness. Wanda raised her hand as Auggie shot out of the gate, and heard Auggie give a burst of delighted laughter as she ran so hard into Wanda’s arms that it nearly knocked Wanda flat. “Mommy!” her daughter squealed, hugging her tight around the neck as Wanda lifted her from the ground. “Missed you!” 

Wanda’s heart melted. She kissed Auggie’s forehead half a dozen times, swinging her around in a broad circle while Auggie kicked her short little legs. Her back was already aching by the time she sat Auggie back down, but it was worth it to see the brilliant smile Auggie offered, her dimples appearing. “I missed you too, rybochka. So, so much. Did you have a good day?”

They walked hand in hand, carefully weaving through the throng of cars in the pick-up lane, while Auggie regaled her with all the wonderful things they’d done that day in class: they practiced counting with colored blocks, they watched an animated video about life cycles (“It all comes from the sun, Mommy!”), they had a reading circle, and they got to help Miss Nakia decorate the classroom for open house. 

“I got to clean Harper’s tank, Mommy!” Auggie gushed, talking about the black moor goldfish Nakia kept on her desk. “She swam in little circles and watched me, and I got to put three stickers on the tank!”

“Wow,” Wanda said, suitably impressed. “That’s amazing, baby. What stickers did you pick?”

“I put a rainbow, a yellow flower, and a heart. I wanted to put shark stickers on her tank but I worried that maybe it might scare her because she’s just a little baby goldfish.”

Will Auggie talk to Wanda about her being nervous about meeting her sister?

“What if they don’t like me?”

Oh I'm sure she'll talk Wanda's ear off about it, but whether or not there will be a scene with that, I'm not sure yet, it might just be something that definitely happens 'offscreen' so to speak, but I'm sure it happens!

Tiny normally confident Auggie being super shy and nervous around her big sisters.

Is Wanda a little worried about them meeting and how it will be for Auggie and for them?

But also protective mama Wanda not wanting Auggie to feel rejected?

Yeah I'm pretty sure Wanda's worried about everything rn; she's been feeling fairly optimistic about it all rn with how happy Auggie's been since meeting Vision, but she also knows there's still a lot of unknowns with the rest of Vision's big family. Wanda's family's always been small so she's not sure how to navigate it, and worried how Auggie will take it all, but she's also happy that Auggie has such a big family, and having heard so many of Vision's family stories, figures that Auggie will be even happier once she knows the rest of the family. But Wanda worries about everything anyways because she's Wanda and she's a mom and that’s what she does.

Auggie is pretty confident as a baseline yeah, but will probably be a bit shyer at first with her sisters. She warms up to people pretty fast though!
