CROSSOVER INCOMING PT. 2: Althea and Hannah also end up at Grimmauld Place in Order of the Phoenix because Joseph and Lorelei are Order members and have begun to receive threats. How do you think Mattie would get along with them?

Mattie tends to be rather protective of her friends. She gets pretty jealous if her friends hang out with people besides her or make better friends with others. So, she'd probably be very wary of Althea & Hannah because what if the Weasleys like them better? They're a bit quieter, warmer, nicer. Ok, so she's actually pretty jealous of Althea.

But when the two are forced into cleaning together by Molly, Mattie starts to really like the Hufflepuff and despite being quite different in temperament, the two form a friendship. Althea finds Mattie after George breaks up with her and comforts her.

What’s one of your biggest accomplishments this year? It could be a story you finished, a story you started, an edit, an idea. Anything! 

I! FINISHED! PROVENANCE! AHHHHHH! Well, the first installment, but even that took me about 4 years haha. I’m really happy with the way it came out, and reading it back makes me happy because it’s youthful and hopeful and fun. 

Who is one of your favorite OCs from a different creator?

I actually want to give a shout out to @decennia​ for both Althea Abbott and  Socorro Sallow. I’m not sure if their stories are being written, but all the content and gifsets I’ve seen always leave me entranced. To the point that every time I see that specific gifset format now, I mentally go, “Ooh another one!” The interpersonal relationships with those characters really just LEAP out of the screen, especially with Althea and the other Hufflepuffs. (Of course, I may be partial as I am also writing about the Hufflepuffs lmao.)

Anyway, definitely go check out those gifsets and the other HP characters!

So one of the songs on my playlist currently is “Gonna Be A Legend” by...get this...The Phantoms. Not to be confused with Julie and the Phantoms, which also dominates most of my Repeat playlist atm. But I associate this song with Leela and the boys nonetheless, because it’s all about succeeding no matter the cost, no matter the obstacles. It even has Luke’s metaphor about being a wrecking ball, haha.

When Draco Malfoy inexplicably turns up dead, the only witness pointing brazen finger at Harry Potter as the culprit, Susan Bones feels that something is amiss. And she fears she is the only one, for as quick as they are to raise the Chosen One up, the masses are equally as swift in tearing him down.

With Potter's alibi just strong enough — along with more than one's fair share of suspiciously occurring oddities in the case — to buy him at least an audience with the Wizengamot, the only flimsy barrier between him and life in Azkaban, Harry's time is running out. It becomes not a question of who did, but rather who didn't — a question that holds Harry Potter's future in the balance.

Every player in the game had something to gain from either Malfoy's demise or Potter's imprisonment, and even more had nothing to lose. When adopting the face of another person is just a matter of a stroke of luck at birth or a drop or two of the right potion, the list of suspects becomes insurmountable... To anyone other than Susan Bones.

She had no idea what possessed her to blurt those words out. Perhaps it was the sleep deprivation from having stayed up all night with him in the library, poring over every book they had on dragonology and teaching him everything she knew about dragons (which was, to say, a lot). Or maybe it had been the gut-wrenching dread of watching him face down the Swedish Short-Snout. She knew it had something to do with the hug of gratitude in which he'd enveloped her, because no more than three seconds after he'd pulled away had the wretched question tumbled from her mouth: would you go to the Yule Ball with me?

Cedric Diggory hadn't given her much of a response so much as an awkward glance to the side before Althea was apologising profusely and making an escape so quick he would've thought it was Disapparition if he hadn't known better.

She'd wanted to be alone, and apparently, so had Theodore Nott, for when she'd found herself at the library nook – her library nook, she had previously thought, but was apparently deeply mistaken – he'd fixed her with that icy glare to which she'd become so accustomed. But then he saw the mortified flush of her red cheeks and her watery eyes, and for some reason or another, he softened. She was perhaps the closest thing he had to a friend (aside from Draco, if you could even call it a "friendship") at Hogwarts, and although he regularly teased her, he often did it in what he hoped she would understand was jest. He wasn't really a people person, but he knew better than to rub salt in wounds.

On a regular day, he wouldn't have cared much to ask about what was wrong, being of the policy that if someone wanted to share something with you, they'd do so, unprompted. But prompt he did, because if he were to choose, he would much rather be faced with the insufferably chipper and smiling Althea than this miserable husk.

As she reluctantly recounted to him the events that had transpired, he found his blood boiling, his jaw taught, white knuckles around his wand. He'd had never felt anything like it. Rage, yes. But this wasn't quite that.

It was in Potions when he asked her. And he never thought he would come to regret it, not with girls like her who were too kind and too good for their own... well, good. He supposed even the clever ones make mistakes every once in a while. It was just extremely unfortunate that his mistake happened to be Althea Abbott... In more ways than one.
