The only daughter of the esteemed Allen family, everyone always had rather high expectations for Aria. They're someone everyone knows and most people like.

Alex Ruinde (he/they)

Queer/genderqueer | 17 years old | Born July 20th (Cancer)

The oldest son of the disgraced Ruinde family and the school's local freak. Alex has always sort of been an outcast, and they're perfectly fine with this.

Mathew Mckoy (he/him)

Cisgender bi | 15-16 years old | Born September 18th (Virgo)

The bastard son of William Mckoy, a somewhat well-known lawyer. Mathew's a rather well-behaved young man, though his fear of being outside of the norm often leads to him being rather boring.

"Then why don't you?" Alex replied; looking away from Mathew's gaze. He'd rather be anywhere else but here, anywhere where he's not forced to bear his heart and reveal the fears that embed themselves into his life so deeply, anywhere where he doesn't have to listen to Mathew's next words.

"Because I care, Alex. I care about you so much it hurts. I want to be your friend, I want to be with you, be there for you when you're hurt, be the one to make you smile."

TAKING THIS OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT WHY I VIEW ALEX AS THE SUN AND MATHEW AS THE MOON

Cheerful sun x gloomy moon dynamics are great and all but...

Alex burns, when the anger and other repressed enotions get to be too much he lashes out and burns those around him, horrified of what hes done, he pulls away.

And then there's Mathew, a moon who hides behind Alex's light, not scared of being burned but of not being good enough for his friend; when Alex pulls away, Mathew moves closer.

Alex hates Mathew's presence, he hates Mathew but...does he? How could he? How could he hate the boy with black hair and crooked teeth who still manages to light up the room with his smile? How could he ever do anything but care for him? Care for him so deeply it burns not Mathew, but himself?

God mathew and alex suprise me sometimes with how well written they are djdhhd (i wrote them) like god

The way what happened hurt them both, how betrayed alex felt, and how torn mathew was, he didn't want to pull away he was forced to, how alex avoided mathew for years because mathew avoided him for a few weeks, how old wounds are ripped open as new ones form, but they learn to heal...together.
