Happy (almost) one year to TWH!!!

I made my first post to this account on October 27th, 2023.. It was the original cover, so I decided to redraw it!

Thank you all so much for such an incredible year, I’m so thankful for everyone here, whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you only just found me today— thank you for being here and reading my little cat comic! I still feel baffled when I think about how many people have seen my work and decided to stick around, it’s so unreal!!! I’m forever grateful. You’ve all shown me so much kindness, compassion, and patience— I couldn’t ask for a better audience ❤️

Now, for the cover!

One of the biggest differences is… there are three additional cats in the new one! Wavestrike and Rampaw, of course, but also… Sailor! (who has an updated design) All three are very important characters within the story, and they deserved a place on the cover.

Other differences are Lambpaw’s design— his markings are different and the grays are slightly darker… this is his ‘teenager’ design! A lot of important plot points happen when he’s a teenager, and I wanted the cover to reflect that.

Aaand the last major change is the flower/plant that Lambpaw is holding. In the original cover, he was holding yarrow— which DID have plot significance at the time… but I’ve since changed a couple things and it lost its relevance. The new plant, however, is very very plot relevant. Yay!

Over the past year, I’ve managed to draw ‼️112 PAGES‼️

I’ve finally finished the refs for all of my alien oc’s! The story for them is basically just Star Trek, with them all being a part of the ship crew aboard the Name Pending exploration ship, and getting into different adventures

First up is Lotus Brant, Commander of the Name Pending. She can be both serious and a bit goofy when the situation calls for either. She is a Cryoreptilian, and has icy breathe that can reach subzero temperatures when threatened. Lotus grew up in a competitive environment, striving to outdo her predecessors before her, as is the culture of Cryoreptilians, who believe in growing your family legacy beyond what was set by one’s parents. As such she worked hard in her academy days to eventually become a ship commander for a galactic exploration team. She is also in a committed relationship with Orion Constelle, the Second in Command on the Name Pending, whom she met at the academy.

Speaking of Orion, here he is! As stated previously, he is the Second in Command aboard the name pending, and is more lighthearted than his partner Lotus. Orion is special because he is the only human to ever be a part of the intergalactic organization that authorizes their ship, among many other exploration crews. Because Earth is deemed unimportant, most ships steer clear of it, and as such don’t really know what humans look like. Most assume Orion looks like a normal human, but obviously this is not the case. Orion was found floating through space by an exploratory crew when he was a a baby, and no one knows how he got so far from earth, or how he could even survive out in space. Due to the unknown nature of humans, no one really questioned it much, not even Orion. So now he travels the cosmos with his crew, learning more about his past as he travels.

Now we have Tenor Verberas, the Third in Command aboard the Name Pending, though by the way he acted you would think that he was the Commander of the ship. His stuck up, no nonsense attitude made him quite unpopular at the academy (and today aboard the ship) but it’s also what got him as far as it did. Sonobats are looked down upon as a species, due to preconceived notions that they are savages who have no proper structure on their planet of Audia. Audia is a harsh planet, with barely any natural light and lots of great predators, so Tenor has excellent hearing and can create very loud sonic blasts for defense with his echolocation abilities. He can also fly with wings that are attached at the hip, though he tends to just walk instead. Tenor strives to rid himself of this stereotype by being generally up his own ass, and while he is skilled in combat and in intellect, he has grown the habit putting down those he deems lower than himself in order to prop himself up, such as Orion the human. Orion either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care, as he has been trying to get Tenor to join Orion and Lotus in a polycule ever since they began working together on the Name Pending.

Lunis Lepida is the Communications Officer on the Name Pending, and is responsible for all the calls coming in. Paradoxically, she is incredibly socially anxious and has a hard time keeping a conversation going. She only really became a comms officer because her mother was also one, and she wanted to follow in her footsteps. Lunis is a Mothosapien from Linsectora, and can lift three times their body weight with both her four arms and her prehensile tail. Mothosapiens can also fly, and despite their tall stature of (on average) 9ft tall, they can be very quiet when flying and hard to spot. Overall, she is a very sweet lady, just very shy and very powerful.

Navy Slutch is one of the two pilots on the Name Pending, and handles the flying the bulk of the time. She is an Aclimian from Climas, and is considered one of the last of her kind due to the dead nature of Climas and the fact that she is the first siting of one in almost 20 years. Aclimian had the rare natural ability to adapt to any climate they were placed in, regardless of its severity, at record breaking speeds. This lead them to be hunted for their skin, which could be made into weather resistant suits. This lead to their near extinction and to them being put on the endangered intergalactic species list. Navy was found on Toxis-B, a poison planet usually used as a garbage dump by other planets. She was cared for by the planets natives, the Toxiicxs, and as such has many of their attributes, such as toxic spit and the ability to live in poisoned areas. After learning that she was the last of her kind, she made it her mission to become a pilot and search the galaxies for others of her kind. Personality wise she is antisocial, preferring to spend her time either flying the ship or hanging out with her only two friends, Whickney and Sailor.

Whickney Bleak is the second pilot aboard the Name Pending, and mainly pilots when they get into situations that require open fire. This doesn’t happen often due to it being an exploration ship, not a military ship. Whickney still isn’t sure why he was assigned a non combat role, thinking he should be fighting evil and not documenting random planets in the middle of nowhere. The reason for his assignment is because he has an extremely hot temper, which is a problem when you are a Flambeaun, whose life forces burn up faster the more adrenaline they feel as a defense mechanism, meaning that Whickney in a combat area is a recipe for a quick death. He gets to use the ships guns sometimes, but he still wishes for a bit more action.

Sailor was found floating through space by the Name Pending, completely alone and having nothing but space dust floating around in their suit. Sailor can’t speak, so talks primarily through an unfamiliar form of sign language that the other crew members had to learn. Their unknown origin is that they used to be an American astronaut who was lost by their ship and left behind, stuck floating through space until eventually becoming a part of it. Due to their time floating aimlessly, they are very good at navigating the galaxy and as such has found a place among the crew as a navigator. Sailor gets alone best with Navy, both feeling out of place in the universe and like the only ones who understand each other (they are platonic btw). Also since earth is so unknown to any of the crew they don’t recognize his suit at all and just assume they’re some weird alien that they haven’t discovered yet. There is no body left in the suit, no name, no memories of loved ones, just the glowing light of space.
