Kingsglaive Legends 2023! Organised by @calling4glaives
Day 2: AU & Life After (Feat. Luche & Nyx, Pelna, Crowe, Libertus and Drautos)
I’m classing this as an AU even though it will appear in my fic, because I am intending most of the Glaive to survive… so it’s kind of AU but most of the main plot of the game and film still happens
Little context: at the start of The Long Night, Cor and Titus buy a penthouse apartment in Lestallum and they get bunk beds to accommodate their close friends and “family” so that they all have a safe place to live and don’t have to worry about accommodation themselves… also there’s a little teaser to Violet and Nyx’s relationship ☺️🥰
A year into The Long Night
Luche climbed the stairs to the apartment he shared with the rest of the Glaive, he’d just got back to Lestallum after a supply run.
He unlocked the door and pushed it open, being hit by the strong smells of curry being prepared in the kitchen, Libertus was working with Crowe to prepare the evening meal for everyone, there were a lot of people living in this apartment, so Libertus was hard at work, throwing various spices into the large 2 handled pan, while Crowe was carving up the Dualhorn steaks into bite sized cubes.
“Hey, Luche!” Nyx stepped out the bathroom, he had clearly just had a shower, “how’d your supply run go?”
“Ok, not great, we didn’t get much, but I did manage to bring back some more resources for the Power Station, so it wasn’t a complete loss” Nyx clapped him on the shoulder while Luche looked around, it seemed to him that they were the only ones in the large apartment at the moment. “Where is everyone?”
“Pelna was called to help Monica with some communication problems, Drautos and Cor had a meeting with Holly, Violet was helping Iris at her shop and the Kings friends are still out on a mission, most of them will be back soon” Nyx pointed over his shoulder to the bathroom, “we’ve still got some hot water and you’ve got time for a shower if you want, dinner is probably going to be another hour or so”
By the time Luche had showered and changed most of the others who lived in the apartment had arrived; Titus was now helping Libertus and Crowe prepare dinner, Cor was discussing something with Pelna and Iris was bouncing her nephew on her knee while Nyx and Violet sat together on the opposite sofa, Violet saw Luche leave the bathroom and gave him a smile.
Luche had been so unsure about the apartment at first, the idea of so many people sharing a space was bound to cause issues, but he’d been wrong, so far there had been no problems, the people who could cook took it in turns to cook the evening meals, and if they needed help, others would step up, but there was never any arguments or shouting. Everyone offered to help Violet and Nyx with their son if he was crying, or they offered to babysit him, like Iris was doing now, just to give them an hour or 2 to themselves. The house work was everyone’s responsibility, you cleaned up after yourself, it was only fair, and everyone was responsible for their own belongings.
Luche sat down next to Iris and reached over to her nephew, who was laughing and clapping every time she bounced her knee, Luche tickled him under his chin and he squealed happily before he took hold of Luche’s finger and looked at him, he had the same rich amber eyes as his mother and aunt but he had his fathers hair colour; an unkempt tuft of slate grey hair covered the top of his head.
“You always grab my finger when I do that” Luche spoke to the baby boy, who cooed in response
“He likes you Luche” Iris said “isn’t that right!” She said and she gave her nephew a tickle, now that his attention was back on her she began pulling faces, making him laugh even more than before.
Luche leant back on the sofa and looked at the group, Titus, Lib and Crowe were working together in the kitchen and Cor and Pelna were joining them on the sofas now that their discussion was done, they had become a family over the year they’d been living together and although times were much harder now, Luche wouldn’t change it for anything

hear me out vampire x vampire hunter ffxv au.....
nyx is a vampire, his village was attacked. His mother was killed but him and his sister were bitten but they managed to get away.... but his sister couldn’t handle it...so she didn’t make it.
Nyx was struggling but he could control his urges, he was actually taken in by a vampire hunter, Regis. He is head of his clan...he knew Nyx was a vampire but took him in anyway because he saw the potential. It came with its ups and downs but Nyx became in debt to him and promised to watch over his son.
Nyx watches over Noctis to keep him safe and out of trouble, which comes with its troubles because its Noctis we’re talking about... He has prompto and the boys to get him in/out of trouble.
poor nyx has his work cut out for him, god forbid its a new moon...and thats when he has to go away from everyone because his urges get alittle wild. He also suffers with trauma from his village and sister too... oof
aside from angst, vampire nyx acting as a vampire hunter and body guard to protect Noctis. And he has to fight other vamps, werewolves and other dark entities...but he prevails.
sliding in my oc because reasons,
she’d be a vampire hunter/ mercenary, she was tasked with kidnapping the prince for money. She was bored and had nothing better to do so she accepted it, course she didn’t count on running into nyx.
They crossed blows and she found out he was a vampire, of course she lost their little battle and was locked up. He later comes and questions her, why didn’t she snitch on him.
she simply states that would be a dirty win, she could have done that....but she likes fair fights. though human to vampire fight...isn’t really fair.
stuff happens and she gets a chance to redeem herself, but she’s warned and she blows it off. Noctis’s home is attacked and things happen.. Noctis is taken and Nyx’s little secret is blown..but not by her.
so thus begins a quest of nyx, my oc and few dorks as they try to retrieve noctis.... Oh yeah prompto has collected a shite ton of garlic and stakes so just incase nyx tries something he’ll stabby stabby.

Prompto was just a child when Pakhet Ulric popped up in his life, asking about a photo of a cat he took. He was so used to being ignored by his classmates that he didn’t know what to do... Now, Pakhet is hellbent on being his friend. Prompto treasures her friendship and will do anything to maintain it, even stomping down on his own heart when he began developing feelings for her.
Nyx Ulric didn’t expect to become a father at the age of 16 in Galahd when he found Pakhet, and he sure as hell didn’t expect to adopt another kid when they moved to Insomnia. But here his kid is, dragging around this heavyset freckled blond, and Nyx just can’t help feeling his heart swell with affection for the two cubs. The Hero will do just about anything to make sure these two have a happy future together, even if it means toughening up a certain Chocobo-looking boy so he can look after his precious cub. Astrals know that Pakhet looked after others more so than herself.
It helps that Nyx fully approves of a relationship between his favorite brats that transcends friendship.
A Prompto/Galahdan!OC cause I’m weak for Chocobo looking boys and cocky Heros... Expect a lot of world building about Galahd and its culture.

Snippets P.1
Rated: PG-13 (References to nudity)
Word Count: 1,631
Summary: Noctis finds Aurelia (an OC) bathing in the Myrlwood pond in the middle of the night and joins her. Though, the situation might be more than either bargained for when both of their insecurities surface.
Purpose: What's a purpose?
Insecurities
————
Aurelia hissed as she lowered herself into the cool water from the pier, her muscles protesting the dramatic temperature fluctuation. Holding her breath, she reminded herself she needed to bathe— especially after the grueling trek here. Myrlwood may have been beautiful, but the terrain was not suited for amputees and had taken a heavy toll on her body. As she began to relax, she allowed herself to sink deeper into the water, the chill catching her breath more than once.
Part of her wished she’d asked someone to come along with her. Someone to help her keep her balance and make sure she didn’t drown. Normally she didn’t have to ask, Gladio offering her help as she needed it. The giant man’s patience and kindness when it came to helping her had made her time with the group easier. Now, however, he was gone— off on a trip to find himself while leaving Aurelia exhausted from trying to keep pace with the group. Sure, she could have asked Noctis to help her. Yet, there was always a voice at the back of her head who told her again and again that the prince would find someone better.
To her, it was better to suffer without the shield’s kind hand than to ruin her prince lover’s image with her disability.
“I feel like it’s a little late for a swim.”
Aurelia jumped, her attention snapping to the wood pier just above her. The prince leaned over the edge to look down at her with his signature unreadable expression. His hair was unkempt and his hands tucked tightly into his pockets. When she said nothing in return, Noctis lowered himself into a crouch before sitting. He tossed his feet over the edge of the pier and leaned back on his palms, his gaze turned towards the night sky. Aurelia chewed on her lip, noticing that his boots weren’t laced. He’d come to find her in a hurry. “You didn’t think to ask?”
“Ask what?”
“For my help.”
She swallowed nervously, finding it difficult for her to answer his question. Of course she’d thought to ask.
The two of them were quiet, Noctis keeping his attention on the stars above while Aurelia kept her balance. It was the first time they’d been alone together since Gladio’s departure, a thick air of discomfort lingering around them. Perhaps it was only Aurelia’s imagination, or maybe the voice in her head was right. That her leg’s burden was too much for the prince. “I’m okay, Noct,” she murmured, moving herself away from the wooden dock.
Noctis sighed and shifted his weight, his elbows balancing on his legs. Myrlwood Falls was well hidden, a pool of water filled with bioluminescent fish and protected from the monsters that roamed. It was quiet enough here he trusted that Aurelia would be safe without an escort— he swallowed as he turned his attention to her. Her balance in the water had grown better since the first time his group met with her.
Admiration and adoration filled his chest, though the feelings were quickly swallowed by grief. He pushed the feelings down and grabbed the heel of his boot, easily pulling it off. “Do… you miss Gladdy?” he asked quietly.
Aurelia glanced over her shoulder. “Yeah.”
The prince said nothing as he continued to remove his shoes, balancing them carefully on the edge of the pier. His socks joined them, then his shirt. Aurelia watched as he stood, Noctis’ cheeks growing warm as he slid his bottoms down. It wasn’t that he was embarrassed to be naked in front of her. Instead, it was his inadequacy compared to Gladio that made him nervous.
Ignoring his insecurities, Noctis carefully lowered himself into the water. His muscles tensed as the cold shocked his nervous system, but he forced himself to move towards Aurelia. “Let me help,” he murmured. Aurelia hesitated to take his hand when he offered it, her eyes searching his. Noctis felt his chest pang and moved closer to her. “Aure…”
Saying her name encouraged her enough to take his hand. Aurelia balanced easily against his palm, thankful for the support. Noctis was patient, his touch gentle as he assisted the best he could. The work of it was mindless, his thoughts wandering further and further away to Gladio. He knew how his friend felt about Aurelia— the shield frequently wearing his heart on his sleeve.
I’m gonna marry that girl, Gladio had said. Noctis hadn’t thought much about it then as he examined the stab wound Aurelia had inflicted, knowing all too well that Gladio’s heart couldn’t keep pace with his needs. He sighed thinking about the memory and found Aurelia’s hand caressing his cheek. “You okay, Noct?”
Her question caught him off guard, his head tilting back as he looked up to the sky. They couldn’t have been in the water longer than fifteen minutes, yet it felt like an eternity. His gaze falling back to Aurelia’s, he felt his heart skip a beat. Opening his mouth, Noctis found himself unable to lie to her, the words forming a lump in his throat as he tried desperately to tell her he was okay— that he was fine. And still, he couldn’t.
“Gladio really cares about you.”
The words poured from him after a few painful seconds, and Aurelia blinked absently. “I… care about him, too, Noct.”
Unable to put it back in the bottle, Noctis bit the inside of his cheek and let out a soft breath. “Not like that, Aure,” he whispered. Aurelia tilted her head, her brows knitting together. Noctis swallowed and carefully pulled her hand away from his face. “He really cares about you.”
“I…” Aurelia shook her head, unwilling to believe what Noctis was telling her. And yet, quipped the voice in her head. Hot and heavy, the images came crashing down on her: Gladio’s hands pulling her flush against him and his lips meeting hers. How he’d lifted her, feeling her succumb to his lust crazed touch. “I’m sure that’s not true,” she managed to choke out.
“Aurelia,” Noctis sighed. She shook her head once more and began to move herself towards the pier. He followed her, his hand catching hers. Aurelia used him as a crutch, only letting go when her hand met the wood of the dock. The prince examined his palm and took an unsteady breath.
“I love you, Aurelia.”
Time seemed to stop, Aurelia’s heart pounding loudly in her ears. He couldn’t love her. He was engaged and she was in a relationship. Noctis Lucis Caelum was, without a doubt, the king of this continent— and here he was confessing his love to her. Aurelia’s hand lashed out, her palm meeting the king’s chest.
“No, you don’t.”
Noctis gripped her wrist, his hand trembling. “You can’t tell me how I feel about you, Aurelia,” he whispered, pulling at her hand to silently ask her let him come closer. “I know what I’m feeling.”
“No,” she hissed, pushing against his chest. Her voice broke as she repeated herself. “No, you don’t. You can’t.”
“Is it because I’m not Gladio?” he asked, his heart sinking. Aurelia gave a frustrated cry, a hand coming to her mouth as she fought with herself to keep from crying.
“Noctis, no—”
“Or is it because I’m not Nyx?”
Regret filled Noctis as soon as the question left his mouth, his jaw clenching when he saw Aurelia’s bottom lip jut out. And still, he held his ground. He knew she was more than capable of telling someone she loved them. His mouth filled with bitterness, recalling hearing her voice echo down the hall of the Leville hotel in Lestallum. I love you, she’d cried. And I hope whatever happened to you, you knew that. I love you… and I’m sorry I didn’t say it sooner. Noctis remembered the night well, having found her on her balcony.
“Noctis,” she gasped.
“It’s fine, really.” His voice was hushed and laced with venom, his expression hard. Noctis took a deep breath and wet his bottom lip, his face softening. “I just…” he started, his voice a hoarse whisper now. “I need to know why you want to pretend I don’t have these feelings for you— that I’ve had these feelings for you for months now.”
Aurelia pushed harder against Noctis, tears beginning to spill over. “Because, Noctis!” she shrieked, her body wracked with sobs. “You’re the prince— the king! And I’m me.”
Her tears stung Noctis more than her words, the echoed sound of her cries reverberating through his head. She repeated herself, and then again, her strength failing as her tears consumed her. He let her cry, his hands catching hers. It wasn’t until she’d calmed herself that Noctis spoke, his tone calming. “That’s why? Because I’m the prince of Lucis?”
“King,” she exasperatedly corrected him. “You’re the king and I’m only me.”
She sucked in a sharp breath, choked by her residual tears.
“We aren’t in a fairy tale, Noct. It doesn’t work—”
He didn’t let her finish her sentence, his lips crashing into hers. Aurelia whimpered weakly and pressed the heel of her palm against his chest. Noctis could only deepen the kiss, holding her close until she was no longer fighting him. With a soft sigh, he broke the kiss and leaned her back into the pier’s post. “It doesn’t have to be a fairy tale, Aure,” he murmured. “You just have to accept how I feel.”
Aurelia shook her head, giving a final shove against Noctis’ chest. His lips met hers again and he lifted her against himself, the water making it easy to support her weight against his body. “I love you,” he breathed, his hands hooking behind her thighs. “Let me love you, Aurelia.”

*rubs hands together* you ready for this? I'm a numbers bitch, so those bullet points will be numbered. NSFW ask meme numbers: 3-7, 13, 17, 18, and shared kinks/fetishes for our good fam Sam and Darcy. And let's spice it up by adding Nyx and Bri. Have fun 🌞🌞🌞
And I am the bitch who really went at it @oc-musings so enjoy this steaming pile of sin I wrote on a Sunday morning.
N*sfw under the cut.
Ship meme n*sfw edition
Sam and Darcy
How often do they have sex?
Everyday Well, on a weekly basis, more or less three to four times a week. Though this would be different if they’re actively trying to get pregnant. Sam would faithfully follow Darcy’s cycle, and she even blocks evenings on his calendar during her ovulation period to remind him that he has someone to do, and that someone is her.
(Once, in the middle of a night out with Nathan and Sully, Sam had to excuse himself when the alarm on his phone off, and it is almost hilarious that Darcy changed his alarm tone to Careless Whisper, and Nathan’s like, “What the fuck is that?” to which Sam casually replies, “Gentlemen, I believe that is my cue to go home and make love to my wife.”)
Who is louder/noisier?
Surprisingly, Sam is louder lmao. Darcy is really not much of a screamer but a whimperer, so his groans and grunts are louder than the noises she makes. And she likes it, the way he sounds so hungry for her, the way she makes him feel good. The weight of him. The danger.
...Okay, maybe the only exception is when Sam makes Darcy come hard. One would think someone just got murdered in their bedroom.
Who is more sensitive?
Darcy. She has a lot of ticklish spots, and boy oh boy does Sam enjoy teasing the living shit out of her.
What’s foreplay often like?
An intense, sensual mess. Their mouths are made to worship. This is how they sing hallelujah. Sam is a giver, so what choice does he have but to give her all he has? And so he makes every kiss count, every touch, every moan as if it were his last. As if it all weighs fifteen years of him being apart from her. He explores the space of her skin like a man starved and colonizes it. Finds home in the warmth between her thighs until she is screaming his name. Finds no rest until she is coming on his face. And she lets him exhaust her like this. She always, always lets him.
But Darcy is a giver, too, and she refuses to let Sam do all the work. She returns the kisses with her own, leaves one for every scar that marks his skin. She may not be a woman of faith, but this is how she likes getting on her knees. Wraps her pretty pink mouth all over him. Her tongue is soft and warm, and he is harder than ever. She swallows when he comes. And he lets her savour him like this. He always, always lets her.
And god, the sight of her taking him in, the bob of her head, the sweet delicious pop is enough for Sam to lose his fucking mind.
Favorite place to have sex?
Kitchen. Sam likes going down on Darcy as he pushes her to sit on the countertop, her legs over his shoulders, her hands all over his hair. Fucking her with his mouth is his favourite way to start his day. Heck, fucking in the kitchen in general is and will always be their favourite way to start their day. Then they get to have pancakes afterwards. I mean, mornings done right tbh.
Do they have sexual nicknames or titles?
Nothing in particular, actually. Although, Sam realizes that Darcy gets to call him “Sam” only when in bed and he kinda digs that.
How long can they go?
Depends? Normally, 2-3 rounds, tops. They’re not getting any younger, so. 😂
What are their safewords?
Cheese and/or pasta.
Shared kinks/fetishes?
Roleplay! (Their ideas are almost hilarious like... hot priest Sam inspired from Fleabag? Darcy’s idea. Darcy as a sexy wartime nurse, and he an injured soldier? Definitely Sam’s.) Also, bondage to some extent! (I’ve mentioned it here before but Sam isn’t really a fan of roleplaying any form of physical violence with Darcy.) And also watching each other masturbate? Is something they find impossibly hot?? Bonus if Darcy does this in her lingerie????? God help their thirsty ass souls???
Nyx and Briony
How often do they have sex?
Depends if they are not deployed in the battlefield, but under normal circumstances, they do it.... twice a day lmao.
Who is louder/noisier?
Briony. She’s a screamer and Nyx enjoys the shit out of it especially when she calls out for his name. Gods. He likes to let the rest of their neighbours to know that someone is getting the best fuck of their lives and it is happening in their goddamn room.
Who is more sensitive?
Still Briony. That’s why she’s always a weeping, heaving mess because Nyx definitely makes the most out of this.
What’s foreplay often like?
A disastrous mess. Kisses, all teeth and tongue. Her fingers scraping his scalp, the curve of his back. Nyx is a generous man, and so he lovingly returns the favour by giving her the pleasure she deserves with his hands and mouth. All for her, all for her, all for her. He likes the way she writhes when he fucks her with his deft fingers. He likes the needy way she moans his name. And he likes it best when he gets to devour her like a man starved until she is begging for her to fuck her senseless.
Favorite place to have sex?
Kingsglaive HQ shower room when no one’s around. Briony’s sofa. The library.
Do they have sexual nicknames or titles?
Nyx calls Briony his “little vixen.” Briony often calls him “my hero” in bed, and it’s actually the only time Nyx doesn’t mind being called that.
How long can they go?
Five! Nyx has the stamina of a mighty stallion, much to Briony’s dismay, but she tries to keep up, pee in between rounds, hydrate, go back to bed, and return to the fucking of her life.
What are their safewords?
Whiskey (Briony’s suggestion, because then they’d automatically think of their feline Messenger lmao)
Shared kinks/fetishes?
Nyx actually likes being tied up and being dominated by Briony, so... there’s that and a lot of that.

The Vanguard - Chapter 7
Happy Holiday Season, y’all. I’ve been doing some writing that I’ve forgotten to post. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve I hope to have up over the season. Hopefully, the girls will be back in full force along with a new story that I intended to be one chapter per Chocobro but probably will be longer because my brain takes off sometimes.
Get ready for angst and backstory.
XXX
Eirwen had been silent since the incident several hours before. Gladio had steered her away from the training area of the Citadel and into the back garden in hopes the quiet and seclusion would give her some peace. For hours he had watched her pace, absently trailing fingers over the stone walls and leaving a trail of ice behind her. Finally unable to watch her self loath any longer, Gladio had dared to speak and ask her where she wanted to go. Her answer had been a vague “anywhere that’s not here” before he had handed her his extra helmet and they sped off through the busy streets of Insomnia. She had followed him almost blindly until she heard him rattle his keys as he opened the door to his apartment - conveniently across the street from the building Prince Noctis had recently taken up residence.
The apartment was entirely decorated in dark leathers, navy blue, and dark wood. Photos of scenic mountain views and pictures of his family were scattered along the walls. “This is...impressive,” Eirwen paused as she caught sight of the floor to ceiling custom shelves that housed an incredible number of books - most bound in hardbacks with titles covering subjects ranging from history to culture to largest number of war and strategy books she had ever seen outside of that section in the Citadel library. She also noted the fair number of fiction books scattered throughout and couldn’t help but see that more than one seemed to be romance novels. Trailing her finger over their spines, she was shocked to see how immaculate the collection was - no creases or signs or weather and absolutely not dust to be seen.
Keys clattered somewhere behind her as Gladio deposited them into the bowl by the door and removed his heavy boots. “Bit of a hoarder when it comes to books. Coffee or tea?”
Pulling an old leather-bound tomb from the shelf, Eirwen scanned the pages of a guerilla warfare strategy written in Ancient Lucien. “Milk?”
“Coconut.”
Nodding, Eirwen carefully thumbed through the yellowing pages. “Coffee, then.” Various sounds of cabinets opening and shutting and then of a brewing coffee pot filtered around her as she scanned the old runes advising on the importance of partners and scouting teams.
Minutes late, Gladio handed her a steaming cup of fresh coffee that was just the right shade of dark caramel. He took up residence on the couch beside her, careful not to touch her but remaining close enough that she might know he meant to offer her comfort if she needed it.
Looking at her now, Eirwen looked nothing like the ice goddess she had appeared to be earlier in the day. Currently, her skin was flushed pink from worry and the heat of the coffee, her blue eyes bright with something akin to anger but without such force. She had tucked her legs under herself and curled into the corner of the couch as if trying to take up a strategic position to protect herself. Gladio had never witnessed such power before today - not even when King Regis had renewed the power that held up the wall protecting the city of Insomnia. It was incredible to think that any mortal could wield such power.
Exhaling, Eirwen closed the book with a sense of finality and caught the slight jump from Gladio out of the corner of her eye. Rubbing at her forehead, she forced herself to speak evenly. “You’re scared of me now?” She hoped she hadn’t sounded angry when Gladio was the only person who seemed willing and eager to listen to things from her perspective without jumping in and trying to give her advice. He was her partner in battle.
“Scared of you?” Gladio readjusted himself so that he more easily faced her but did his best to appear relaxed as he reclined his arms across the back and sipped his cooling coffee. “I’m not afraid of you, snowflake. I’m worried for you. There’s a big difference.”
A humorless laugh escaped her. Leaning forward, she twisted the length of her pale locks between her fingers and focused on controlling her emotions so as not to turn the Shield-in-Training’s apartment into a meat locker. “Don’t worry about me. I’m always ready for battle.” In fact, punching something sounded like a wonderful idea at the moment.
Finishing his coffee, Gladio deposited the cup onto the coffee table before making a show of giving her his full attention. “I’m not doubting your training and abilities - a few rounds with you on the training mats has proven you’re more than capable in that department. What happened earlier between you and Amira has me worried. I felt...whatever that was that you pushed out at her. I watched her freeze over. I saw your expression when you pulled yourself back out.” He didn’t ask her to explain, nor did he demand answers or promises that she wouldn’t do the same to him.
“I don’t know what to tell you, Gladio. I can’t explain it. It happened once, years ago. Amira…” trailing off, Eirwen raked her hands through her hair in frustration as if hoping to pull the words from her head. “It was like she
me when I was completely broken - or at least patched me back together. I wanted to try to do the same for her but I couldn’t find it, I couldn’t find what hurt her.” Tears of frustration threatened to spill from her eyes and she angrily wiped at them. “I couldn’t do the same for her. What good is this power if I can’t even protect the people I care about.” Forcing herself up from the couch, she marched over to the large window looking down on the busy streets below and pressed her forehead against the cool glass hoping to calm herself down. “She’s the only family I have.”
Silence rang out through the apartment. Distant sirens and the sounds of city life filtered between the two warriors to break up the deafening quiet. Gladio, for all his reading and knowledge in how to handle emotional trauma when related to combat, loss, and injury, was at a complete loss. Another not so well kept secret of the Twins: bad family relations. To his knowledge, Eirwen had none to speak of. In the file Cor had given him in preparation for his first mission with her, she was listed as a ward of the Citadel until she had become of legal age. Gladio, on the other hand, was fortunate enough to have an actual family.
“You don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. I’ve got your back now, Eirwen - on and off the battlefield.” Gladio walked past her to the kitchen to put away the dirty dishes as he spoke, hoping not to make her feel pressured or closed in. “People care about you.” He had seen the way Crowe, Libertus, Pelna, and Nyx were with her and it was clear they had forged a bond that was deeper than camaraderie or friendship.
Across town and shaking from over exertion and residual tingles of forced magic, Amira leaned against the window from her perch. Purple lightning cracked in the distance each time her fingers twitched. It had been hours since the incident and she could still feel the sorrow in her heart left by Eirwen just before their connection snapped. The bone deep chill had left her almost as soon as it had arrived but now she felt oddly warm in a way that reminded her of post fever.
Nyx had been kind enough to make her a pot of gunpowder tea, piping hot and slightly bitter. She also vaguely noticed that he had switched on the radio to a low jazz to fill the ringing silence of her mind. He moved with familiarity and confidence in her home and she couldn’t help feeling both grateful and annoyed at the same time.
“You don’t need to stay.” She hated how quiet and weak her voice sounded but she felt the need to at least offer him a way out of the current situation. Other than Eirwen, she wasn’t really accustomed to anyone trying to take care of her even after her injury.
“And you don’t need to catch the flu pressed against the window, princess.” Nyx chuckled at the obscene hand motion Amira quickly shot his way and was relieved to see she seemed to be clawing her way back out of herself. “I’m not going anywhere until we figure this out.” When Amira opened her mouth to argue, he was quick to stop her and refocus her attention on the larger goal in hopes of getting her to face the current issue. “We’ll be called back into the field any day now and since you’ve been cleared, I need to know you’re in the right headspace.” If he couldn’t get her to consider the issue as a work-related problem, he would have no hope of getting her to open up about personal issues.
Nodding, Amira worried the warm mug between her fingers. “I told you, I felt something snap. I’ve never felt her so far away - not when we’re separated by thousands of miles.” Assuring her that the connection could be fixed, Nyx urged her to continue. “Whatever she was looking for...something seemed to break her heart.”
“I’m sure she’s just worried about you. The two of you have always had each other -” Nyx stopped short as his phone vibrated in his pocket. The only people that had his number were Glaives and other work associates and the only time it rang was due to some work related issue. Fishing it out from the pocket of his jeans, he was surprised to see Pelna’s name lighting up the screen. “Report,” he offered by way of greeting.
Amira watched and Nyx’s eyes narrowed slightly and his stubbled jaw clenched. Though Pelna couldn’t see him, he nodded several times and made agreeable noises to urge him to continue. After a few moments, Nyx ended the call and ran a hand over his suddenly weary face. This time, it was Amira who was concerned by the sudden quiet. “Seems we have a bit of work to do.”
“Pelna cracked the firewall and found some sort of list he immediately sent to Cor - who informed him that several emissaries from the Empire are planning a visit to attend the Foreign Relations Gala in a few days.” A crease had taken up residence on Nyx’s forehead as he repeatedly ran the conversation through his mind.
Shocked, Amira was silent for a moment as she processed the information. “They’re not planning a confrontation in front of a room of international dignitaries. Could they have realized that I copied that file?”
“There’s no way they’re that stupid. They’re up to something, though. Pelna also reported increased military activity at the northern border - encampments, patrol, the works.” Sighing, he leaned back against the counter and studied Amira closely. “Looks like the vacation is over.” He paused momentarily hoping to choose his next words correctly. “You’re not going to...like what I have in mind.”
Sighing, Amira pulled herself up from the window and stood to face her partner. “I rarely do,” she reassured him.
XXX
Unlike her Twin, Amira had grown up in what anyone on the outside looking in would consider a perfect home. Malcolm and Nadia Everet were the storybook couple - Malcolm hailed from one of the richest, self-made families in all Lucis while Nadia, coming from old Lucian nobility, had been raised as if she herself were next in line to the throne. When the two had married nearly three decades earlier, neither bride or groom had ever laid eyes on the other prior to meeting at the altar and both had approached the scenario as if it were a business transaction to further themselves and their families. When Amira had been born, she had instantly become the new bargaining chip for her parents and had been ushered through years of etiquette classes, ballroom dance lessons, advanced tutoring, fashion and beauty seminars, and all the formal parties her parents could drag her to. Amira had grinned and curtsied through it all, praying to the Six for a way out.
Things had remained tortuously the same until her fifteenth birthday. For years, she had begged her parents to allow her to train with her paternal uncle and member of the Royal Kingsguard, Declan - her justification being that she should know how to defend herself should her pedigree ever put her in harm’s way. Finally, after much pressure from her uncle, her parents had relented and allowed her to train two days a week for a few hours in place of the cardio workout her personal trainer had devised for her. Immediately, she had fallen in love with the raw violence and unstructured chaos that came from physical combat and had shown real promise for someone so young. Her uncle worked with her continuously had been able to nearly ensure her a position within the guard after her college graduation, even going so far as to go against her parent’s wishes for her by involving King Regis himself. She couldn’t have found anything more removed from her original life if she had tried - or at least she had thought until her training accident had sealed her fate.
Uncomfortable falling back into bad memories, Amira kept fidgeting in her seat and pulling at the garment she had hoped she would never wear. The couture gown had been stashed away in its original box since her parents had sent it to her over a year ago in hopes of enticing her back into the spotlight her family thrived in. The saving grace was that the dress was at least mostly black. Made of the highest quality black satin and an overlay of organza, the floor length gown possessed a custom fitted corset with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline that dipped between her breasts exposing a bit more skin than she felt entirely comfortable with. The draped split sleeves fell beyond her wrists, perfectly displaying the tattoo of delicate roses twisting and blooming down her arm, and a careful slit ran up the long skirt to her mid thigh on one side. Hand embroidered gold applique leaves and vines decorated the bodice and skirts while the sleeves and trims were encrusted with shimmering gold glass beads. She had paired the dress with a pair of black designer pumps with a scarlet bottom adorned with a criss-crossing straps that buckled just above the ankle and glittering gold and diamond drop earrings. She’d had to buy new makeup as she had avoided wearing it as much as possible in recent years and had opted for a heavy-handed winged eyeliner and a dark plum lipstick.
“If you pull continue to pull at the dress, you’re going to end up ripping it before we get to the gala.”
Sighing, Amira arched a perfectly filled in brow at her uncle Declan who was comfortably dressed in his usual Guard uniform of black slacks and dress shirt. He’d only added a jacket and patent leather shoes to his daily ensemble. “You know how much I hate this. I thought by becoming a Glaive I could wipe my hands of all this.” Contempt leaked into her words as she studied her black and gold manicure.
Chuckling, Declan straightened his jacket and offered his niece a knowing grin. His salt and pepper hair mixed with the warm gold of his eyes had always made him so much more inviting than her father. “Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten how to walk in heels already? I thought we raised you better than that.”
Immediately, Amira flipped him off with her glittering gold-tipped finger and flipped her half pinned up hair over one shoulder. “Please. We both know I came out of the womb wearing a pair of six inch pumps.” Thankfully, the sleek black vehicle came to a stop and the back door was opened by a smirking hero. “Don’t start with me tonight,” Amira warned Nyx as she slid across the leather seats and carefully out onto the sidewalk before the Citadel.
Flashing lights erupted from either side of her. As if flipping a switch, Amira smiled for the photographers pushed back her shoulders until she felt the familiar ache beginning in her spine. Declan was quick to take up her elbow as he too paused to allow the paparazzi a moment to capture his image. As the two moved forward towards the grand entrance, Nyx moved to her other side as if to shield her from the cameras. Speaking quickly, Nyx spoke just loud enough for the two Everets to hear him. “Many of the foreign dignitaries have already arrived but no one has spotted anyone from the Empire yet. The others are posted up inside and I will be positioned to see the entire ballroom.” Holding out a gloved hand to Amira, Nyx offered her nearly perfectly clear earpiece. “Pelna just finished these this morning. Don’t worry about it not picking up your voice if you speak quietly, it’s been calibrated to your voice specifically.”
Declan ushered Amira through the glass door before heading to the elevator and pressing the correct floor. “I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but your parents are here and they would like to speak with you. Try not to get blood on the dress.”
Groaning, Amira thumped her head back against the onyx wall of the elevator during her brief moment of normalcy. Tonight, she was once again Amira Everet, heir to the Everet fortune and darling daughter of Malcolm and Nadia. Of course, they had not been briefed on the plan the Vanguard and the Kingsguard were to execute. To them, their daughter was finally coming to her senses. “Six, I am going to need an entire bottle of champagne.” She could already feel the headache beginning to bloom in her temple.

Trick or treat!
Hi! Thanks for the request! ☺️💙🎃
I think I’ll share a little insight with you about my fic for this Trick or Treat! Mainly because I’m still working on the prologue of the main fic and I haven’t got enough of my current projects to share a WIP from 😅
Sorry in advance for the info-dump! I couldn’t resist 😉
Guard & Glaive is going to be a long multi chapter fic that has 2 main ships in it, Cor/Titus and OC/Nyx, there will probably be other ships added but at the moment it’s just them 2 for definite. Cid and Cor have a sort of father son relationship too
Titus is not Glauca in this universe either, I considered it, but as I developed his story and his connection to Cor and Violet (my OC) I decided that he wasn’t going to be Glauca because I didn’t want to hurt Cor and Violet like that 😆
The story is going to contain the canon events of Kingsglaive and the main game but shifting them slightly, some of the characters who die in the canon story don’t in mine and it’s going to be containing the alternate ending from Episode Ignis
I have also been developing my own cultural head canons for various people which I would really like to share too!
Titus and others from Cavaugh wear leather bracelets that symbolise various life achievements (on the left wrist it is black bands that are for age milestones, and on the right they wear custom made ones for various things… Titus has one in the colour of the Bisexual Flag, a black and silver one to show his first solo hunt, a black one with blue beads to show his bravery in Tenebrae and a yellow one with black and sliver beads to show he is married)
Galahdans in my story have certain traditions that revolve around cooking and food, one of them is when a Galahdan is wanting to ask for permission to marry their love, they invite their partners family to a dinner that they prepare themselves, it’s considered as a way of showing they are able to support and provide for their partner, some Galahdans go more extreme than others in impressing their partner’s family (looking at you Nyx!)

just kiss already | Gladio x Lianna
Prompt: #38 “You’re under the mistletoe so stop stalling and just kiss.”
For the lovely @singlebecauseofthechocobros – who’s cheered me up more times than I can count with her writing and who’s given my OC more love than I ever have. I LOVE YOU!
Set sometime in the Reunion Universe (a lovely Gladio x OC fic set during the World of Ruin -you guys should check out) where they’ve finally reunited and are all in Tenebrae…also pretend these two knuckleheads haven’t acknowledged their feelings for each other (so, really, just consider this a fanfic of a fanfic!).
Tumblr media
Lianna stares vacantly into the mirror as her adoptive sister braids her golden hair into a delicate chignon that sits at the nape of her neck. It only seems like yesterday that she was the one to fix Aeria’s hair for her first ball while her younger siblings, Noctis and Selene, fought in the corner about who got to sneak out first, but now Noctis is lost to the world and Selene is a prisoner in all but name. Since arriving at Tenebrae she’s barely seen her sister for more than a few minutes at a time, and never alone. Ravus is a hard man, but between the short words, Lianna can see that he respects his new wife enough to keep her safe, or she hopes at least, for Selene’s sake.
Aeria snaps Lianna from her thoughts with a quiet, “Do we have to?” as she finishes off the last twist by weaving a single sylleblossom into her bun. A dig at Ravus no doubt, something she knew better than to put past Aeria from doing.
“Have to what?”
“Have to attend this farce of a ball Ravus Nox Sourpuss is hosting? He’s not even hiding the fact that he’s basically the Nif’s lapdog.”
“Hey, at least he’s a hot sourpuss,” Norie quips from her seat at the boudoir.
Aeria scrunches her nose in undisguised disgust. “Whatever. Not into angry bionic men.”
“Ria,” Lianna admonishes gently, “while Selene’s position and safety remains precariously on the whims of Mister Sourpuss, I’ll attend as many of these farces I need to. Besides, as long as he upholds his promise to send supplies to Lestallum, I can look past—”
“You’re too nice Li, and one day it’ll be your downfall.”
“If you stare any harder, you’ll burn that dress right off, Amicitia.”
Gladio turns around in surprise to see Nyx smirking that shit eating grin of his he always does when he’s about to pull one over him during their spar sessions.
“You gonna talk to her or just stare all night?”
Gladio snorts and lifts the flat glass of champagne he’s been nursing in Aeria’s direction, “You’re one to talk.”
“The difference is Lianna wants to talk to you. Ria’s gotten over being happy I’m alive and back to being pissed that I let her think I was dead.” Nyx shrugs. “If you don’t make a move…”
“Don’t. Even.”
“Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t have a death wish. But, uh, not sure about those Nif lords circling your princess.”
“Right. Hold this for me.” Gladio shoves the now empty glass at the Glaive and makes his way towards Lianna.
Nyx chuckles as he watches the lordlings scatter like flies in the bulking presence of the Shield. His eyes meet Aeria’s from across the room, and for the first time in weeks, she shoots him a small smile, knowing full well that it’s because of him Gladio’s finally making a move. Nyx brings his hand up for a small wave, but she’s already turned her back towards him.
“Li,” Gladio starts off lamely now that he’s standing alone in front of the woman he loves. “Can we talk? In private?”
Lianna nods, they had to settle their differences eventually and now was just a good of a time as any. Leading the way towards the secluded balcony overlooking the blue fields, she stops only when the din of the ballroom is but a whisper. Lianna turns to face Gladio and finds her cheeks heating up. Despite their recent rift, she still finds herself intoxicated by the headiness of his proximity.
“Look. I shouldn’t have blown up on you and Ignis like that. I know—”
“It’s fine, Gladio.”
“No, it’s not. Hear me out. I just get, I don’t know, angry when I see you guys close like that and I get it, I don’t have any right to, but it’s hard when I—”
“When you what?” Lianna asks, blue eyes sparkling with both fear and hope. The irritation she felt from before melts into anticipation as she watches her usually bold friend glance at her shyly through thick lashes.
“Lianna, I— I care about you. Your friendship means the world to me but…” Gladio pauses, struggling to verbalize the feelings he’s kept under lock and key for so long. He takes another look at the princess, his princess, and brings his hand up to cup her cheek. He leans in a little closer, gathering the last remnants of his courage when—
“Just spit it out already,” Aeria heckles as she walks by the blushing couple that jumps so far apart Lianna’s back hits the marble parapet. “In fact, while you’re at it all pretty under the mistletoe, stop stalling and just kiss.”
Small shoutout to @lucianhuntress (Selene) and @owldearest (Norie) who’s OCs make a brief appearance.

“Sorry about that…” Eve huffs as soon as they’re out of Selene’s hearing range.
Noctis seems to be in a jolly mood despite his sister’s rudeness, but to Eve’s surprise, he laughs at her apology. Nyx shakes his head with an amused expression.
“She’s always like that, no need to apologize. But that was pretty mild of her,” Noctis notes, “I’m curious to see the scene now.”
Eve doesn’t reply, only thinking it must be a sibling thing. Nyx looks like it’s nothing new. He’s already used to the warring celebrity siblings. It’s amazing, though, how they can be all smiles and heartwarming lines on the papers and magazine covers.
“Ignore their quarreling. It’ll make your life easier,” Nyx says to Eve and earns a suffering grin from his employer.
“Duly noted…” Eve sighs.
They reach the studio lobby and Noctis gives a meaningful glance to Nyx, who holds back a grin and mutters something about “waiting over there”. Eve looks after him in confusion and realizes her pulse quickens as soon as she’s left alone with Noctis. It did nothing of sorts when Nyx was there.
“So hey, uhh, what time does the she-demon release you today?” Noctis asks, trying to sound suspiciously casual. He fiddles with his sunglasses, no doubt about to put them on before they step outside.
“Oh, I think they’re still shooting the ending scene and some retakes. Selene had something private scheduled later… I assume I’m not needed then,” Eve iterates the events in her boss’s calendar.
I hope, she thinks to herself. Days with Selene have been unexpectedly rough and full.
Noctis glances at Nyx, who is downright grinning at him now. His posture straightens and he looks back to Eve.
Noctis clears his throat meaningfully. Eve waits with raised brows, heart thumping in her chest out of nervous excitement.
“I was thinking… do you wanna go for that drink today?” Noctis wonders. The smile on his face belies just how nervous he really is. Being the CEO of Caelum Industries requires a good poker face, no matter what journalists or business partners throw at him, but this… this is an altogether different beast to conquer.
Eve barely holds back the surprised, delighted squeal.
“I could really use a drink after today,” she lets out a light laugh that rings in relief.
Noctis hands her his business card. Eve turns it around in her hands – it has another hand-written number on it.
“That’s my personal number. Give me a call when you get off work,” he says.
“Sure!” Eve holds the card like it is the dearest treasure.
They can barely contain their smiles. Nyx is just rolling his eyes and chuckling to himself a short distance away. He kept his eyes peeled on the awkward couple the whole time and it looks like his pep talk earlier didn’t go to waste. Or maybe it was the wondering out loud whether Eve would go to a dinner with him. That made Noctis suddenly realize he left his sunglasses at the studio.

Merry late Christmas to @sherniwrites! I am so sorry this took so long. I hope you enjoy it and you crush this New Year! Also I apologize for tweaking the prompt. I thought it was for NYE the whole time and when I reread the prompt I had written about 3/4ths of this lol. Anyway i love you girl and thank you so much for being a great friend.
Tumblr media
Original Prompt: : # 37 “You didn’t think I’d let you spend Christmas alone, did you?”
Edited due to my error: “You didn’t think I’d let you spend New Years alone did you?”
From the inside of his apartment Nyx only had one wish: that his damn television volume could be turned up louder. Even though the sound from the monitor echoed throughout his living space at max volume, the noise was still not loud enough to block out the hollering and cheers from the city above. The sounds of fire crackers and chants filled his home, driving him a bit towards madness with every passing minute.
Normally, he would be out with his comrades, celebrating the ringing in of the New Year, but tonight he just didn’t feel up to it. A night in didn’t sound half bad.
Sipping on his beer and attempting to focus on the news displaying on the television, Nyx was lulled out of his trance when he heard a knock on his door. He sighed to himself, expecting it to be Libertus and Crowe, there to drag his ass out for a night of gallivanting and drinks. What he had not expected was fellow glaive member Rai Alsayf posted in his doorway with a bottle of champagne in one hand with two glasses in the other and a small bad slung over her shoulders.
“Rai,” he questioned, looking her up and down. She was out of her normal glaive attire and dressed in a long gold sequin gown that reached a little past her calves. The strappy heels added a few extra inches bringing herself almost equal in height to Nyx. Her long glossy black hair was straightened and hung down her back and the dress itself was a bit more open in the front than she probably realized. Or perhaps she knew exactly what she was doing.
“It’s rude to stare Ulric,” she laughed, inviting herself inside and trying to hide the red warming her cheeks. She could remember in great detail the last time she visited the glaives apartment. The memories alone caused her face to redden deeper. As she past her colleague, he closed his eyes taking in the intoxicatingly sweet perfume she had dabbed on her neck and wrists earlier in the evening. “What are you doing home? It’s nearly midnight.”
Her words snapping him out of his trance, he shook his head and shut the door, “I just didn’t feel in the mood for festivities tonight. Thought a night in sounded better.”
The woman turned to face him and gave him a look that expressed that she was not buying that explanation for one second. “I know you better than that. What is really going on?”
The glaive sighed and took a seat in one of the chairs he had at the dining table, “It’s not a big deal. Just after everything this year I really wonder if the next will be any better ya know? I mean we do our jobs; we fight the wars, and all for what? When does it end? People are up there cheering that this upcoming year is going to be different. But will it really? Aren’t they all the same?” He didn’t realize how he must sound once he spoke it all aloud but Rai did not judge him for it.
Instead she took a seat across from Nyx, placing her hand delicately over his, “It may not end,” she spoke truthfully, “But that doesn’t mean you don’t make an impact. Children get to grow up, people are able to fall in love, and the elderly can live out their lives peacefully. Now those may only be a couple examples but you make a difference. The whole glaive makes a difference. Just because it’s a new year does not mean things are just going to change. But the hope that they do and the hope that this New Year will be better keeps people going.” He met her eyes and she gave him a soft smile, “At least that’s what I have to tell myself.”
“Thanks” he replied, giving her hand a squeeze.
“Always Nyx,” she whispered, “Now,” she spoke enthusiastically and jumping out of her seat, “I have in my purse two party hats, a few pairs of beaded necklaces and some balloons we need to blow up but otherwise I have brought the party to you Nyx Ulric and we have about five minutes till the new year’s starts so we need to set up.”
Chuckling to himself he replied with a “yes ma’am” and put on every article she brought for him. Once the two had blown up a few balloons and adorned themselves with decorations, they stood in front of the television which was now displaying a live countdown.
60 seconds
“Hey Rai,” Nyx spoke, turning to her, “How did you know I was here anyway?”
The woman smiled a coy smile and looked at him, “Well I originally met up with the team; Crowe, Lib, Pelna, and of course Tredd and Luche were there too. When I noticed you were absent I stole a bottle of champagne and headed here knowing you were most likely sulking at home.”
45 seconds
“Well then why come all the way down here? I’m sure the party you were attending would have been a way better time than spending your new year’s here in my mess of an apartment.”
“You didn’t think I’d let you spend New Year’s alone, did you,” she asked raising a brow, “No one should be alone for any holiday and I figured ringing in the new year with you was the better alternative to having Tredd try and shove his tongue down my throat.”
30 seconds
“So you would rather me shove my tongue down your throat? Is that what I’m understanding?”
The woman rolled her eyes and shoved his shoulder, “You know what I mean. Although after everything we’ve been through this year…”
“Yeah,” he urged her on, moving towards her.
20 seconds
“W-well I just don’t know if ringing in the New Year with you as my first kiss would be such a bad way to start it off.”
Nyx was directly in front of her now, remembering all the days and nights they had spent together but never acted upon. How she drove him absolutely mad but made him the happiest he could be. How soft her skin felt on his and how melodic her laugh was when it filled the room. How she looked past all his flaws and cared for him for who he was.
10 seconds
“That’s crazy,” he started, making the woman’s eyes dart up to his in panic for a brief moment, “I was actually just thinking maybe you could be my new year’s resolution. We ring in the New Year and take it on together.”
“That doesn’t sound half bad Ulric,” Rai smiled, as both turned towards the television and listened for the roars of the city above praising the New Year and beginnings.
“Happy New Year Ulric,” Rai murmured, her lips inches from his.
“Happy New Year Alsayf,” he answered back before pulling her to him and ringing in the New Year right.

Eve, Nyx and Pelna hiked in the tall grass, down the hill from Coernix Station to Alstor Slough where their prey resided. They had not needed to walk very far to confirm that the catoblepas beast was chilling in the middle of the lake. It could be easily seen from a great distance away.
It was huge.
“That thing is bigger that the Archaean’s fist!” Nyx jeered as they were coming closer.
“And yet, it still loses to your ego,” Pelna said smirking.
Eve giggled.
“Very funny,” Nyx scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“She laughed.” Pelna shrugged, motioning towards Eve.
Nyx threw a we-will-discuss-this-later look at her and she skimmed back sheepishly. Eve could not have ever anticipated what a pain it would be to be twenty-four hours a day in the company of someone whose clothes she wanted to rip off.
Nyx was making the most of the situation. He enjoyed immensely seeing Eve’s cheeks darken in a blush at his nonchalant touches or bawdy comments. The sexual tension between them was building up and Nyx could not wait for the moment when Eve wouldn’t be able to handle it anymore.
