Introducing Vee

Vee is my Yuusona. During the start of the story they have a hard time expressing themselves. They’re also a bit of a “Goodie Two Shoes” Ace says. Always trying to do the right thing and cause the least amount of problems possible. Unfortunately for Vee, they’re a total problem magnet. Especially when they’re with a total mischief maker, a former delinquent tryhard, and a dire beast with an ego higher than the sun.

Vee and King portrait as my first finished art of the new year! 🎉🎉🎉

I wanted to explain how I was trying to translate their dynamic visually here so that blurb is under the read more!!!

The last pic I drew of them together (early 2023), which I wanted to call back to with the colors, and King's outfit, on this one, was meant to be something akin to something King would have made around the early days of his reign. Vee standing in as a great threat he has slain to promote his image, while in reality she was the main power behind him that lead to him getting his throne. From his perspective she was that tool that got him his position and in that picture she is being used as a prop for his image.

THIS pic around I wanted to make something showing more of Vee's side of their dynamic. King rests with a smile trusting no harm would ever come to him. In reality he never sleeps, this is just another game of his that she's well aware of. A symbol of his constant little tests. She's holding him in her claws and her head is only in frame due to being bent at an uncomfortable angle in order for his hand to reach her. He is not holding her to this discomfort although he is encouraging it. The light shines on King in the focus and center of the art while Vee is pushed mostly out of frame in order for this. most of her fades into and makes up the background while she glares, tired, and angry with no movement she can make.

Alright, in honor of Spiderman Across the Spiderverse, I ended up drawing my spidersona oc, Willow (Vee/Velvet as her real name) once again!! I absolutely love the movie to bits by their details and it’s been long since I drew her. So, what better way but to do the certain portal scene on jumping further to the multiverse?

I did two versions of her without the border frame and with border frame on it! Please click on both of them for quality because tumblr might kill it.

Grim, Adeuce, and Vee

Vee’s relationship with these three are pretty much how you would describe the Heartshackle dynamic in game

Vee cares about Grim very much and sees him as family. They take Grim and his aspirations to be a great mage really seriously. They tend to get super defensive when others make fun of him and treat him as a nuisance of sorts. It’s mostly out of projection since they themselves are used to being seen as a nuisance who won’t be able to do anything great. Vee has no complaints about being Grim’s henchhuman and even thinks it’s cool being the sidekick of a talking animal for a change. Vee has no problem taking accountability for Grim’s misdeeds but that doesn’t mean they don’t scold him when he does something wrong. Grim and Vee are glued to the hip as Grim usually rests on Vee’s head or shoulders, especially when he’s trying to be all high and mighty. Grim tends to talk for Vee a lot since Vee has the tendency to go mute or space out. Vee is really grateful for this in particular even if others would believe otherwise.

During Vee’s first meeting with Ace, they described him as “A cool, popular, and upbeat guy anyone would wanna be friends with.” They note that Ace would make fun of them to the moon and back if they ever admitted they were “charmed” by him. When his whole personality changed and he started to insult Vee along with Grim, Vee refer to him as a “Bully” of sorts. Things only got worse when he tried to duck out out of his punishment. Even then, Vee suggested as long as Ace and Grim washed 10 windows each, Vee had no problem doing 80, starting the track of Ace viewing them as a “Goody two shoes”. Vee started warming up to him more after Book 1, where they got to see a bit more of Ace’s serious side.

It was hard for Vee to pinpoint what type of person Deuce was specifically but after awhile they pinned him down as the “Reliable guy”. They do find his motivation to become and honor student to be admirable, even when his 180 personality switches kind of freak them out. Both of them are what Ace says to be “Sharing half a braincell” since both of them aren’t considered to be very bright. While Deuce and Vee tend to butt heads with Ace, when it comes to each other they usually end up on the same page. Both trying to do what they feel is the right thing. Compared to Ace however, Deuce is pretty late in figuring out what Vee is feeling in any given moment due to their lack of expressions and change of voice. Which leads to some misunderstandings where Deuce thinks he’s hurt Vee’s feelings in certain cases.

All three of them are majorly important to Vee. They are Vee’s first ever friends and the first people to ever show Vee such love and care and that made Vee like they weren’t a nuisance to be around. They are Vee’s favorite people, although they have a hard time saying that to their faces.
