Appearance: A serious looking man with brown eyes and black hair kept in two braids. Has a smattering of freckles over his nose and wears what looks to be high ranking Fatui garb, though all Fatui emblems and paraphernalia have been removed.

Fighting Style: Uses his Delusion to absorb and re-release elemental energy as his own attacks. Specialized in taking out vision holders as a Fatui member. Otherwise, is very proficient with his polearm, enough to be feared even among the Fatui.

Story:

Born and raised in Snezhnaya, Kotik was raised with love for his country and reverence for the Tsaritsa

After his parent’s untimely deaths, he willingly joined the Fatui at a young age

Though he never received a vision, for his loyalty and strength he received a delusion and the new name Orazio from the Tsaritsa.

Years after making a name for himself, he was sent on a mission to take out a couple who were directly stalling the Tsaritsa’s plans. He was successful in his mission to end these threats before making a heartbreaking discovery that the two had a child. This brought back memories of his own parent’s untimely deaths, and seeing that he had just given a child the same fate as himself, Kotik became disillusioned with the Fatui, and began to question his own past.

He returned to Snezhnaya, returned to his Tsaritsa with questions about what happened to him as a child. The Tsaritsa answered his questions willingly, proving his suspicions to be true- the Fatui killed his parents, sentenced to death for speaking out against the Fatui and the Tsaritsa.

Kotik was enraged and left the Zapolyarny Palace, the Tsaritsa making no move to stop him while his once fellow Fatui agents fought him every step of the way.

He escaped, barely, and left Snezhnaya for good, and now hides his identity to protect himself both from the enemies of the Fatui, and the Fatui themselves.

Notes:

Kotik is a Russian term of endearment meaning cat.

Sad

Has probably fought Diluc at least once while Diluc was in Snezhnaya. Either ended in a tie, or with Diluc winning (with Diluc pissed that Kotik was so young at the time, and yet fought so well)

Commonly just called Blind or Unseeing by other Fatuus, both as a title, and as a remark on him being visionless

Though he was respected, most other Fatuus either feared or outright disliked him

If he had stayed with the Fatui, he could have been in line to become a Harbinger due to his fighting prowess and the Tsaritsa’s favor over him

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

some of kotya's best memories are from middle school, when she and shurik would constantly hang out and play together. she's made a lot of good memories since then, but these are the ones she treasures the most

conversely, most of kotya's bad memories are of her high school years. she also vaguely remembers when her parents died when she was in kindergarten & she got taken in by her grandma (which is a part of her story that somehow never got mentioned on this blog because it was never relevant. lol)

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

okay this one is actually kind of hilarious. hiding it under the cut because it made the post too long

you see, kotya was origianlly created as a joke fusion of 2 different characters (same for shurik) so her initial name was just those characters' names smashed together, and it sounded very stupid. as i began to flesh her out more the joke name inevitably started driving me insane so i decided to come up with something a little more like a real name.

her og design was something along the lines of "gruff looking mercenary / henchman guy", and i wanted to pick a name that would fit the vibe.

since i'm russian, i circled through some slavic names i personally thought sounded good, including but not limited to: mikhail, viktor, alexey, dmitri, and konstantin.

dmitri, viktor & konstantin were my top 3 picks and i was really leaning toward viktor but my wife pointed out that some random "baby names meaning" website listed "kotya" among nicknames for konstantin, and i instantly lost my mind, because how stupidly cute is that?

to clarify, the "kot" part of kotya is also the russian word for cat, and "kotya" is one of those silly affectionate words you can use to refer to a cat lovingly, just like "kotik" or "kotenok" (kitten). it just sounded so funny. konstantin is such a serious name, and it fit her so well, but she was also kotya. little kitty. i was obsessed.

as for her last name (beliy), it's just the russian word for "white", and i'll be completely honest with you. it's a breaking bad joke. my wife kept spamming me with tweets from this account:

and there you have it. the story behind konstantin beliy, localised as constantine white, and also basically meaning "white kitty" when written down as kotya beliy. she's been a silly little kitty since day one.

Thanks for the questions @ratracechronicler! I have a lot of characters (last charted more than 600 in the @converginglives) so I think I will answer each for three Balakhnov children care givers as they have a huge role in the series helping Sparks with the 33 minors suddenly thrust into his custody.

P: Personality1. what is their best personality trait?

Milyena - she’s a passionate and bubbly person. 

Zeynal - he loves new things and has a joy for educational debate. 

Ishmael - he takes joy in everything that he can.

2. what is their worst personality trait?

Stepan - can be set in his thinking

Kotik - depending on the day is whether she considers the fact she’s not good at socializing as her worst trait or not. 

Persape - she’s always expecting the worst to happen, it causes her anxiety a lot of times

3. what of their personality do others love?

Milyena - her creativity, since her abilities change day to day due to health, she can be creative on how to get things done.

Stepan - the fact he will sit down and listen to anyone who needs to speak, and call it ‘doctor-patient conversation’ even when it’s not medical as a way of promising to keep it private. 

Shadzadah - she’s a quiet person most the time and will use her lovely singing voice when offering comfort to one of the children. 

4. what of their personality do others envy?

Zeynal - his ability to adapt, accepting customs that are not his own with an ease not everyone in the building has managed to pull off. 

Kotik - her creativity in the kitchen! She’s great at coming up with new food ideas. 

Isa - their sureness in who they are. 

5. do they hate anything about their personality/about other’s personalities?

Isa - they hate how bitter they can be at people for themselves and they hate people who judge folks based on appearance and make assumptions.

Ishmael - he has a strong dislike of pettiness, in himself and others, it’s something he tries to overcome though he’s not sure it always works. 

Milyena - she hates how hopeless she feels on moderate to bad days, she hates how other people judge her because of her disabilities, seeing her as less because of them.
