So I was the one who requested Kung Lao with a breeding kink- 😏 and now I’m here to request Kung Lao with a reader that’s smaller then him. Like he can easily pick them up and their hand is smaller then his. Like reader would be able to wrap their hand around his pinky. ((I have a friend who can do that and I think it’s really funny))
The things I'd let this man do to me. Every single position. Any time of the day. Anywhere. In the shower, in the kitchen, at the octagon, my mom's house, ANYWHERE.
SFW/NSFW hcs of kung lao with a size kink
Tw/cw: kung lao has a size kink, a very big size kink, reader is like 5'1 bc I'm 5'1 and I'm definitely not self projecting, piv, belly bulge, he hugs during sex it's rlly hot, AFAB reader, uh yeah you get it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sfw
Kung lao is very cocky so I feel as though he'd be the type to lovingly make fun of you. Like, as your boyfriend he'd comment on how small you are compared to him and how you can't reach things on higher shelves and need his help, things like that. But as SOON as someone else makes fun of your height, he's beating the shit out of them
Going off the last one, he'd definitely put items on higher shelves JUST so that you'd ask him for help. He genuinely loves being helpful to you so putting you in an innocent situation feeds his ego
He'd definitely introduce you to all of his friends too. He does this thing where if you're standing next to him he'll put his arm on your head and use you as an armrest
Johnny definitely hits on you a lot and whenever he does Kung Lao just gives him a glare. Hes the only person you guys hang out with that Kung Lao doesn't trust you with. It's not that he doesn't trust you, he absolutely does, he just doesn't trust him
Raiden and you are definitely good friends and he's around the same height as Kung Lao. Because him and your boyfriend are close, he lets Raiden poke at your height a bit, but he never does. If anything he just comments on how cute you are compared to everyone else(why is everyone in mk so FUCKING TALL DUDE)
If you ever get into a dicey situation, let's say with Johnny, and Kung Lao is behind you, he's picking you up with complete ease and putting you somewhere safe so he can beat the shit out of him
Sometimes Kung Lao just picks you up and carries you around. No reason. No warning. He's either carrying you bridal style or over his shoulder. He just does it for shits
Nsfw
Oh my god he's so into you being smaller than him
He can just swing you around and overpower you so easily
He's obviously not gonna do anything you're uncomfortable with, he's very big on consent and your comfort and you guys ALWAYS have a safe word
But he will put you in a mating press and hold you there. Like, you're not moving.
That's how it is with every position, he lets you move your upper body but your waist is his to control
Absolutely loves when you ride him. Because of how small you are, your tummy always has an imprint of him inside you. It literally drives him insane and he cums so easily when he sees it
When you're doing missionary, he'll wrap his arms around your waist and lower himself onto you. He'll be hugging you as he's pounding his cock into you, but he's singing you so many praises
He'll be whimpering into your ear (yes he whimpers) and he'll be telling you how good youre doing. "you're doing so good for me", "such a tight pussy, all for me, right?", "you're gonna make me cum if you keep it up"
If he ever plays with your clit when he's inside you, you'll clench so hard he cums immediately. Then hes embarrassed by how easily he comes undone from you
He can't get over how sweetly you treat him, both in and out of bed. When you're having sex, he gets so turned on by all of your moans and soft praises
He definitely likes to 69 you but he also likes lotus every once in a while. He loves to be able to feel your body so close to his and he picks out positions specifically for that reason
If you guys live together, you're having sex every night. Kung Lao has an incredibly high sex drive and when you're not around to help him out he lashes out a lot
He'll be training with the other monks and he can't focus because of how horny he is. Raiden caught onto it and knows about Kung Laos needs, he teases him about it a lot but understands
It got to the point where Raiden recommended having you come with him. Maybe if you were in reach at any given moment it would make him feel better
So you went with him. And those few days you did were absolute disasters. Kung Lao didn't get anything done because the thought of you seeing him working out turned him on more than usual. So he'd be picking you up and running to a quiet place just to fuck you. Over. And over. And over again.
Eventually Raiden realized you coming with was a mistake and you had to leave. Not without Kung Lao crying and pleading with Raiden to let you stay
At this point Kung Lao doesn't even care about anything other than you. If you were to tell him to do anything, he'd be on it in seconds. He doesn't even care if Liu Kang approves of it, but luckily for you both he understands how it feels(cough cough kitana)
Long story short, he's a simp.
Honey Trap
AN: Fifth fic for @moonknight-events’ MK Bingo! This is probably a little silly (and likely not very well-written) but it was fun to come up with and write so irdc lol 😌 Hope someone other than me enjoys this!
You stumble across Marc while he's camping in a remote part of the woods and he's (understandably) suspicious of you.
(Un-beta’d)
Rated: M+ (this is smut so, you've been warned) Prompt: Hiking Words: 2,427 Pairing: Marc Spector x F!Reader Warnings: references to death, attempted murder, knives, frottage, please let me know if i missed anything. AO3
——————
Marc doesn’t trust you.
Your story about wandering off trail and getting lost was plausible, sure, and you looked harmless enough, but he'd been around long enough to know that looks can be deceiving.
Still, what was he to do? If you really were telling him the truth, you needed help. He couldn’t just let you wander around alone in the dark. What if something happened? What if you got injured, or worse, killed? No, better to assume the risk, to give you the benefit of the doubt. Plus, it certainly made it easier to keep an eye on you. You’d been so grateful, thanking him profusely and promising not to be a bother. He’d waved this off of course, trying to ignore the way his stomach flipped when you smiled at him.
It’s late now, the moon full and high in the dark night sky. You’re sitting on the other side of the fire (his fire), your jacket zipped to your chin, arms wrapped around your legs as you try to get as close to the flames as you can without burning yourself. He tries not to keep looking at you, at the way the firelight makes you glow, but every time he looks away, his eyes inevitably drift back. There’s something about you, he’s not sure what but, it makes him feel…uneasy. Everything about you seems normal but he just can’t shake the feeling that he’s missing something. His stomach rumbles at this thought and he briefly considers that he might just be hungry. With a sigh, Marc digs into his bag, searching for the rations he’d packed. His eyes meet yours over the fire as he pulls a packet of jerky out and shakes it.
“Want some?” he asks, holding it out to you.
You hesitate, eyes dipping to study the nondescript packet in his hand. He swallows thickly as you unconsciously lick your lips.
“Thanks,” you say finally, smiling as you take the food from him.
He nods, pulling out another and tearing it open. Marc’s eyes scan the surrounding darkness as the two of you eat, the slight crinkling of the ration packaging replacing the silence.
“So,” you begin, studying the strip of jerky between your fingers. “You come here often?”
His lips quirk slightly at the joke but he just shrugs. “Not really, no.”
You hum, carefully chewing a bite of jerky. “Could’ve fooled me.”
He meets your gaze, unease settling in his gut. “How do you mean?”
It’s your turn to shrug now, pulling another strip from your packet “You just seem very…prepared is all.”
He sniffs in amusement, relaxing slightly. “Yeah well, people do tend to be at least slightly prepared when they plan on camping in the woods.”
You scoff, swallowing your mouthful of food. “I wasn’t planning on camping though.”
“Maybe not,” he agrees, taking a sip from his water bottle. “But you clearly had no idea what you were getting yourself into by coming all the way out here. Seriously, who hikes without a map?”
You snort, shaking your head at yourself. “Valid point. Obviously, I’m an incompetent buffoon.”
Marc bites back a smile, pulling another piece of jerky from the packet. “Well at least you’re aware of it.”
“I’m so aware of it,” you laugh, putting your head in your hands.
He hums, his eyes drifting to you again across the fire, watching as you (presumably) mentally berate yourself for getting into this situation. What would’ve happened had you not run into him? If you had run into someone else? With no supplies, would you even have survived the night? A wave of sympathy washes over him, and he frowns at himself for going soft on you so quickly.
“What brought you out here, anyway? If you don’t mind me asking.”
You look up from your hands, eyes tired but bright as you smile somewhat fondly. “My brother.”
Marc raises an eyebrow. “Your brother?”
You nod, reaching for your pack. You unzip it and pull out an understated urn. His stomach sinks.
“Oh,” he croaks, his throat going suddenly dry. “I’m…sorry for your loss.”
“Thanks,” you whisper, turning your attention to the urn in your hands. “He would’ve liked you, I think. Calling me out for being unprepared and all that. He was always looking out for me.”
Marc grunts, uncomfortable now at the turn the conversation has taken given what had happened to his own brother. “Sounds like he was a, uh, good guy.”
You nod, meeting his eyes over the fire again, the soft smile on your lips making his heart skip. “He was.”
The two of you talk a little more, the topics now lighter and less serious. When you start yawning so often you can barely keep the conversation going though, he decides it’s time for bed. He insists that you take his sleeping bag, knowing your thin jacket isn’t enough to keep you warm until the sunrise. Once you agree to take it, he settles down beside the fire, pulling the hood of his jacket up over his head. Your soft snores meet his ears in no time and he smiles to himself, glad that he was able to help someone without using violence just this once.
He stares into the fire, watching as the flames dance, as they devour the kindling he’d thrown in earlier, as they burn through the sticks and branches he’d collected. His eyes droop, head bobbing gently as he tries to stay awake, knowing he has to keep an eye on things (on you). He thinks he trusts you, or he wants to at least, but he just can’t seem to shake that feeling. Could he really trust himself though? After everything he’s done, after everything he’s seen? Perhaps it’s you who should be afraid of him.
His thoughts spiral, taking him in directions both logical and illogical. He lets himself get lost in it, in the scenarios, in the possibilities, each one more unlikely than the next. At some point, he must doze off, though, because the next thing he knows is the weight of a body on top of him with a knife to his throat.
It’s you. Of course it’s you.
Damn it, he should’ve known, should’ve listened to that niggling feeling inside him that told him not to trust you.
It’s dark save for the moonlight—you must’ve doused the fire before making your move on him.
“I’m sorry about this,” you say, grimacing down at him somewhat apologetically. “You seem nice, and I actually kind of enjoyed talking to you but, unfortunately, I have a job to do.”
Marc swallows thickly, the action pushing the blade a fraction deeper into his skin. “To kill me, you mean?”
Your face loses some of its softness as you shake your head at him. “That depends on how cooperative you are.”
He grunts, saying nothing as he tries to assess just how bad things are for him.
“See,” you continue, leaning in a little closer, the delicious scent of you invading his nostrils. “I need information.”
He waits for you to continue, eyes scanning your face for any tells, any flickers he can use to his advantage. When he doesn’t respond, you sigh in disappointment, frowning theatrically.
“Please, Marc, I don’t wanna have to slice up your pretty face. Just tell me what I need to know and I’ll be on my way.”
He clenches his teeth at your condescending tone. “What do you wanna know?”
You smile softly at him and he curses himself for the way his heart skips a little; what the fuck was wrong with him?
“Tell me about Operation Windstorm.”
He needs to figure out how to get out of this. He can’t just push you off of him, can’t use his legs to flip you over, not with that knife so close to his carotid artery. One wrong move and he’s dead.
So he stalls.
Marc snorts, raising an eyebrow at you. “That’s it? Of all the jobs I’ve pulled, that’s the one you wanna know about?”
You continue to smile down at him, as if you know exactly what he’s doing. “I couldn’t care less, to be perfectly honest but, my client wants to know so, until I get paid, I guess I do too.”
He grunts, resigned to the fact that he has no choice but to give you exactly what you want in the hopes that you don’t slit his throat afterward. So he tells you every detail of that job, answering every question you have, and just when he’s beginning to think this just might not end well for him, he feels the pressure of your blade ease ever so slightly.
He wastes no time, taking control and flipping you over, knocking the knife from your hand and causing it to skitter off into the darkness. Marc traps you beneath him, your arms pinned above your head, his knees bracketing your thighs. You’re not giving up without a fight though and wriggling beneath him, trying somehow to use the position to your advantage. You try to lift your leg, brushing your thigh against his groin; the clench of his jaw makes you smirk.
“Stop it,” he orders, embarrassed by how easy it was for you to rattle him.
“C’mon, we both know you don’t want that,” you tease, looking down at the slight bulge in his jeans. “Has it been a while, honey?”
He growls, your breathy chuckles sending shivers up his spine as you continue to move beneath him. “Shut up.”
Or what?” you whisper, somehow managing to extricate one of your legs and curl it over his hip.
“Or this,” he says through gritted teeth, grinding his erection against your core in an effort to turn the tables, to work you up the way you’re working him up.
It works, your eyes fluttering, lips parting in a sweet little whimper as he grinds into you slowly, over and over again. He groans when you meet his thrusts (as well as you can anyway given your position), the heat blossoming in his gut. He leans in close, his hands still pinning your arms to the ground as he gets lost in you, in the feel of you, in the way you look beneath him.
“Oh fuck,” you breathe, panting as every press of his hips sends delightful waves of pleasure through your body.
Marc hums in agreement, his lip between his teeth as he hovers over you. You want to kiss him, to taste him, to devour him. So you do, pushing yourself up to capture his lips, your tongue claiming his mouth and pulling another groan from him. You arch into him as well as you can, pulling his body even closer with your freed leg as you continue to move together. The friction is delicious, like heaven, and a part of you never wants it to end. You wish you could flip him over again, ride him fast and hard, his strong fingers digging into your hips as you pull him apart and put him back together over and over and—
Your release slams into you at the thought, a choked moan slipping from between your lips as he keeps moving, prolonging your bliss. Marc watches you as you come, the look in his eyes is greedy as your body shakes, your face contorting into something ethereal, almost otherworldly. When you come back to yourself, you meet his eyes again, your chest heaving slightly as you try to catch your breath. He looks like he wants to eat you alive, the wildness and lust in his eyes visible even in the darkness. You shiver with pleasure, chewing your lip as you let your gaze drag slowly down his body. You wish you could see more of him, his windbreaker doing nothing to compliment his undoubtedly amazing body.
“Who sent you?” He pants, as if he hadn’t just given you the best orgasm you’ve had in years.
Your eyes flick back to his at the question, a lazy smile curling the edges of your mouth as you begin to move against him again, silently begging him to come for you. He swallows thickly, his body tensing with every brush of your hips, his fingers clenching and unclenching around your forearms. His eyelashes flutter as he watches you, his mouth slack with pleasure. Then he groans, giving into you, into this, his body curling even more over yours as he buries his face in your neck. He ruts against you, his movements somewhat uncoordinated as he chases his release.
His body twitches above yours as he comes, his moans muffled slightly by your neck. Just as you’re mourning the fact that you didn’t get to see his face, you notice his hold on you has slackened a bit— enough to turn the tables, you hope. Still dazed from his orgasm, it takes him a moment to realize what you’re doing as you begin to wiggle beneath him, and by the time he does, it’s too late.
Marc grunts as you push him onto his back and straddle him, your hands pinning his muscular arms to the ground. After everything, you should probably kill him—he’s the type to hold a grudge, the type that’ll try to hunt you down—but you just can’t bring yourself to do it. If nothing else, it’d be a waste of a pretty face. Instead, you kiss him, relishing the taste and feel of him one last time before pulling away to smile down at him.
“Thanks for the tumble, honey,” you whisper, climbing off of him with a chuckle.
By the time he comes back to himself, you’re gone and the sun is just beginning to peak over the horizon. Marc groans in frustration, running his hands over his face as he tries to figure out what the hell just happened. He should be pissed, he thinks, for so easily falling into your trap but, somehow, he isn’t. He sniffs a laugh, shaking his head at himself as he moves to get up.
Later, when he’s packing up his gear (including the sleeping bag he’d let you borrow), he comes across a folded, non-descript piece of paper that he knows must be from you. He unfolds it, his fingers fumbling slightly in his haste. For a moment, he just stares, his eyes tracing the lines and curves of your parting words, words that make his lips quirk in a smile.
See you around.
Hi can I please request Yandere Alphabet for MK please 🙏💗 I really enjoyed reading your Redson version
Yandere Alphabet: MK
(Let’s Start Over!MK is now available to chat with!)
Authority: Do they see themselves as above their obsession?
No, not in the slightest. MK views you as his equal, even if he won’t always treat you as such- he’s got the powers and the staff, after all. Why not just leave the hard stuff to him?
Bread: Can they cook or bake? Is Y/N responsible for their own food?
MK cooks and delivers noodles, so he’s obviously got some skill in the kitchen- I like to think that cooking with Y/N (and Pigsy) is a frequent bonding activity for him. Although, he does enjoy just making things for them as a surprise.
Cruentus- How do they respond to Y/N being hurt, both slightly and severely?
Even little wounds like paper cuts are met with worry, bandages, and lots of comfort. If you’re on the younger end, he might even kiss the bruises or scrapes.
If you’re hurt seriously? It’s like a switch flips, albeit temporarily. He’s absolutely vicious towards anything he considers a threat, willing to outright shatter the bones of his enemies to keep them from endangering you.
Disengage- What’s their response to being ignored?
Worry and concern. And then smothering Y/N until they either tell him exactly why he’s getting ignored, or they give up and return to “normal”.
Enclosure: Where do they keep Y/N?
As a noodle delivery boy with a one-room apartment, MK doesn’t have anywhere to keep you, nor does he have a way to get you to his room without alerting anyone.
Facade: Are they good at hiding their true intentions?
Yes, to a certain point. He’s pretty decent at pretending that this is all part of being a hero, trying hard to protect someone he loves. But then there’s little cracks running through those defenses, his clones performing surveillance well into the night, his insistence on Y/N sleeping over for weeks on end, his attempts to scare suitors off… the closer you look, the worse it gets.
Garment: Do they take control of Y/N’s clothes?
Nope- not unless he’s demanding them to wear one of his jackets when the weather gets cold. Also, trashing anything “revealing”. Aside from that, he’s pretty respectful towards their choices.
Handicap: How do they handle Y/N being or becoming disabled?
If they start disabled, MK is an absolutely sweetheart about the whole thing, bringing you your pills in the morning every day, making sure you eat after taking them, keeping you hydrated so you don’t experience nausea/headaches after the dissolve in you. He’ll insist on pushing your wheelchair, or even outright carry you wherever you need to go. Making food that won’t trigger your Sensory Processing Disorder, bringing you new clothes that won’t make you itchy, etc.
If they become disabled, MK blames himself for not being a better hero for you and triples down on his protectiveness, potentially even locking you inside for days on end to prevent your condition from being worsened again.
Intertwine- How physical are they? Do they enjoy skinship and touch?
Eleven out of ten, here. MK’s hands are always on you. Your wrists and head and hair and back and waist, hugs and pushes and pulls that keep you where he wants you, ready to drop everything and cuddle you at a moment’s notice. He just needs affection so bad.
Jaunt: Are they willing to take Y/N out? Where do they go?
Yes! He wants to take them all across Megapolis and show them so many cool things. Museums and cheese tea stalls and pop-up events and the zoo and every fun thing he can think of that might make you smile and laugh- without putting you in any form of danger.
Kindness: What brings out the best in this yandere?
You. His family. Being a hero. He won’t ever stop being a kind-hearted young man, no matter how severely his obsession might swell.
Limitation: What holds them back? Work? Family obligations? Physical weakness?
Yes, yes, absolutely no. He still has to earn money and save the city/world and spend time with Pigsy and Mei and Tang and Sun Wukong. He’s a pretty responsible kid in spite of everything, which means he’s far from the worst potential yandere- if you have a good enough heart to save innocent people at the risk of your life again and again, you aren’t going to be that bad of a person, even if they’re struck lovesick with obsession.
Morals: What lines are they not willing to cross?
MK won’t resort to any form of physical punishment, not even ear-dragging. No (intentional) gaslighting. No harming your friends and family, unless they prove to be a serious threat to you. He wouldn’t withhold affection or love, nor would he smear your reputation or destroy your livelihood.
The point of him obsessing over Y/N is to keep them safe! He doesn’t want to hurt them at all!
Nausea: Can they tend to an illness, or would they rely on a doctor?
If the home remedies that Pigsy has taught him don’t work (unlikely) he’ll resort to a doctor’s professional advice- probably Mei is the one who foots any fees, just to lend a hand to her best friend.
Obcordate: What reminds them of Y/N?
Sunflowers, towering blooms that represent warmth and adoration. Sugary drinks to binge during movie nights. White lilies, symbols of innocence and sweet-natured souls. Marshmallows, soft and squishable and sweet.
Pacify: How do they comfort Y/N? Do they even bother trying?
Movie nights with lots and lots of snacks, soda, and junk food. Monkey Cop, for something mindless and fun. Some of Mr. Tang’s scholarly lectures, for interesting background noise. And cuddles.
Queue: Do they have something of equal or greater importance to Y/N?
His friends. His surrogate father. Megapolis. The world. He can’t just throw that all away for one person, as much as he loves you.
Redemption: Could they grow out of their obsession and make amends with Y/N?
Season Four would redeem him. The Ink Curse shreds him a brand new hole over his obsessiveness, about how it’s hurting him and Y/N. How he’s a worse hero for it, how he prioritizes his obsession even over people who are in more danger, how he’s butchering his training by skipping to spend time with them, etc.
And it actually works. MK realizes that he needs to back off and work to overcome his obsession, for both him and Y/N to be happy. It might not ever fully leave, but it does get much better.
Sobriquet- What nicknames do for they have for their obsession?
“Mèimei”, for someone he views as a little sister. Dídí for someone he views as a little brother. And he hopes that you’ll repay the favor and call him “Gēge”.
Troop: How many people do they obsess over? Is that obsession spread equally?
Just one- Y/N.
Underdog: Who‘s on the yandere’s side? Would they help out?
Mei, who agrees that Y/N is a big cutiepie and needs to be protected. Pigsy and Tang, who want their surrogate son to be happy. Wukong, who just doesn’t want the kid to lose someone he loves. All of them are willing to “babysit” on occasion, too.
Vocalize: How do they justify their actions?
MK will just say that anything he does is for the sake of “protecting” Y/N, and he believes it with all his heart. It doesn’t help that none of his closest friends call him out of any of his more unethical actions for a very long time.
White Whale: Why do they pursue Y/N, exactly?
They’re sweet and precious and helpful, and he doesn’t want to see the world so carelessly rip that away from them. MK lost a lot of his innocence and gained trauma, and he’s intent on keeping them safe and sound and mentally well, even if it’s by destroying anything that dares threaten to harm them.
Xanthous: What do they really want?
Unconditional love and support from someone he cherishes.
Youth: How old is Y/N in comparison to them? Younger, same age, or older?
Younger by at least a year. MK wants to be someone’s “big brother” so bad. He takes that role very seriously, too. Holding your hand as you cross the street, tucking you in at night… even as a yandere, he’s kind of a sweetheart.
Zealous: Do they pursue Y/N doggedly, or are they more laidback and casual with their approach?
He’s rather dogged, honestly. There’s an almost sweet enthusiasm to his protectiveness, like a guard dog who just wants the praise of his master.
Author’s Choice 1: Would anyone else go yandere for this specific Y/N?
Yes. Pigsy and Tang both insert themselves into Y/N’s life as father figures, agreeing with MK that they need to be protected, if not outright sheltered. The kid is sweet and polite, offers to help constantly, is always volunteering in community projects and lending a hand to those in need.
How could they let the world rip up something that is so unabashedly good?
Author’s Choice 2: Do you have any AU’s involving this character?
Aside from Primal Moon, the afore-mentioned Let’s Start Over!
Basically, several after MK’s adventures end and he’s grown up, a notably innocent and sweet kiddo comes along and meets him on Flower Fruit Mountain, having taken the mantle of ‘Monkey King’. (I’ve also considered calling him ‘Monkie Knight’ in this AU given the whole ‘working for the king and fighting for good’ thing. Still ironing it out!)
He decides to start training them so that they can one, intent on teaching them everything he knows. MK tears out an itty-bitty portion of his power and stuffs it into Y/N, allowing them to wield the staff. Once they’ve mastered enough of his skills to wield it, that portion gets pulled back out. (And Y/N is out to bedrest for three full days, just in case it hurts them.)
The new Monkey King/Monkie Knight seems kind, and really he’s not all that bad-
But MK is trying to relive his story through Y/N, and constantly impedes their own journeys to make them safer. The hero is basically forcing someone else to avoid the traumas he went through so he can feel content, as though his own traumas never occurred.
And this works out decently, until Y/N starts going their own path by redeeming a villain that MK never thought he’d see again.
Eldritch Abomination MK Theory
OKAY. @the-punning-ubus
I just want to say reading these tags are SO validating, because I have my little "MK was an eldritch abomination thing pre-hatching from stone" theory and seeing someone else come to pretty much the same conclusion feels good.
I've been meaning to write a proper theory post on this for a while, so now is as good of a time as any!
Obviously we have Wukong's "Not just anyone can wield my staff, but you did" from A Hero is Born and "The staff's just a big 'ol stick bud! It takes someone special to wield it" from 3x03, but there's also something in 1x09 Macaque:
Macaque: "Your staff kinda gives you away dude, not just anyone can wield that thing."
-
Macaque: "Ohohoh no, can't you hold the magic staff anymore? Well, you know what that means—there really isn't anything special about you. You're just a kid with a heavy stick."
-
-
The sweet irony of "There really isn't anything special about you. You're just a kid with a heavy stick!" followed immediately by MK lifting the staff again is not lost on me.
So, from s1 it was pretty obvious that Wukong didn't "give" MK any form of power, but we knew that already with MK being a monkey demon and all. I just think it's particularly intriguing that all of this was laid out in the same episode where MK proclaims "I am the weapon!". In all honestly, he probably was/is.
One of the main questions coming out of s4 is "why was MK created?"—Monkey King's stone was used to form another, but for what purpose? To what end? What reason was MK at the center of all these stories?
Well, here's my current theory:
MK was something in a past life, and that something needed to be contained—and so, to put a stop to past life eldritch abomination MK, he was then sealed away in the stone.
I think this scene in particular raises some alarm bells:
The stone cracks open, bursts with light, and then it closes—like something was put inside it. The scene could of course just be an aesthetic choice, or chosen to be this way for another reason we don't know yet, but it just feels so deliberate. A ball of light appearing from the stone, then another ball of light in the mystery woman's hands being revealed to hold a monkey, and then the stone reforming around the ball of light. I just can't help but feel there's something there.
Next I want to discuss the two key things that make me feel this theory has merit:
1.) MK has made a habit of breaking out of things he shouldn't be able to (the calabash in 1x05, the trigram furnace in 2x00, the scroll in 4x07, Destiny itself in 3x14) and the stone would be no exception.
2.) Every antagonist in this show has been sealed away in some form, then being released to resume their plans from before being sealed. Here's a list:
DBK was sealed under the mountain, and after being released continued his plan of world domination.
Spider Queen was metaphorically trapped in her fallen empire, and after being given the chance to rule the above world once again, immediately takes it.
The Lady Bone Demon was imprisoned in her tomb, and after being released prematurely (before learning the error of her ways), she continued her plan to destroy the world and create a new one.
Azure Lion was imprisoned in the scroll, and upon being released (by an unknown 3rd party), immediately worked to free his friends and then end the Jade Emperor's reign.
Now, I love foils, so MK breaking out of the stone he was sealed in, yet coming out an actually changed being unlike everyone else in this show, would be DELICIOUS:
Lady Bone Demon: ”No backup and no weapon? So, you’re plan is to fist fight a child?” Sun Wukong: “We both know that’s not what you are.”
(3x11 This Imperfect World)
-
Lady Bone Demon: "STOP! Have you forgotten? Destroy me and you destroy the host! Have you become so desperate to end me that you would sacrifice this blameless innocent child?" Sun Wukong: "You're giving me no choice! All the time you spent locked away, and you haven't changed a bit! I'm going to finish you, like I should have done a long time ago! I told you—you should have stayed buried."
(3x11 This Imperfect World)
-
Subodhi: "I have not brought you to your master. Although this is the stone from which Sun Wukong once sprung, it appears overtime, it was used to form another. A simple creature, with no past, no family, and no name. There is a reason you were at the center of these stories—a reason you can harness the power of the Monkey King himself!"
(4x06 Show Me the Monster)
-
(If you want extra fodder for this, please see this parallels post :3)
So, if MK were to hatch out of the stone—where *he* was sealed away—and he actually came out of it a "blameless innocent child" with "no past, no family, and no name", it would work exceedingly well. Wukong's not above giving people second chances, but if you use that second chance to try and destroy the world, you force his hand.
(Side note: it could also be the case that the stone was used to "reset" whatever MK was in his past life, and Wukong was originally meant to destroy whatever came out of the stone—which could be the reason he stayed at Flower Fruit Mountain for hundreds of years. However, when an child came out, a new being without a past or the memories of what it was before—Wukong choose to let it go. He choose to let it live a normal life—or even ensuring it could live a normal life—and it then found it's way to Pigsy. This definitely gets into real crack theory territory, but I did want to bring it up.)
Now, none of this is even mentioning the suspiciously MK shaped figure in the mural from 3x13:
Now, the figure in this mural is only shown when MK is also on screen, which is framing that drives me insane. Perhaps this is when they first caught MK's past life, then finally able to subdue him and seal him in the stone.
And so, if MK really was this terrible chaos driven abomination in his past life, what does that mean ✨thematically✨?
Well,
Sun Wukong: “Point is, mistakes happen, but so long as you leave the world in better shape than you found it, then it’s all good. Right?”
(4x01 Familiar Tales)
-
SWK: “ENOUGH! I’ve never let anyone dictate my destiny in the past, and I’m not about to start now. None of us are! We can’t change who we were yesterday or in a past life, or a hundred life times ago! We live with the choices we’ve made, for what matter is the choices we make RIGHT NOW! Only we decide who we are and what we do with the power we have.”
(4x07 Pitiful Creatures)
-
MK can't change who he was in a past life. He can't change that the roads all lead to pain. But you know what he can do? He can try. He can try and get a little bit better every day. He can try and help people. He can try and make the world better than he found it.
Maybe in a past life, MK caused just as must chaos and destruction as Wukong did in his past. Maybe he caused even more problems then he has as the Monkie Kid. But that also doesn't undo the good he's doing now.
Anyways, that's my "MK was an eldritch abomination thing pre-hatching from stone" theory. Hope you enjoyed
Dark but not dark spicynoodle swap? Anyone? Anyway Red who (to most people’s surprise) HATES courtnapping with a burning passion. Too many times has his lab been wrecked by some jerk and too many times his ‘free-dad’ plan been delayed. Because what? Someone wants to marry him?! He may not like mortals but credit where credit is due, the courting traditions are way better. Enter MK who, while asking for advice on ‘how to ask out a demon (Red Son) gets courtnapping as the nr.1 answer.
I super love this idea, Anon! XD
Red Son being the one to get kidnapped is always a fun twist, but the added backstory that he also absolutely hates the concept of it is just too good! It makes perfect sense, too. He's from a "fallen court" of sorts since his father was imprisoned and the kind of lost everything.. so other demons probably look on him as a sort of de facto heir of this powerful title of the Demon Bull Family. Once he came of age (and honestly maybe even before that) he probably had to deal with all kinds of creeps and power hungry demons who wanted him just for his title or just to be able to say they bedded the son of the Demon Bull King.... Obviously Red Son has less than zero interest in being some sort of trophy husband, so that didn't work out well for any of his would-be suitors. It probably backfired so much that he gave up on the very idea of having any suitors at all! I mean, he's got a father he needs to save and a family to restore, so why would he even bother with something so trivial???
Anyway, then comes an oblivious MK stumbling onto the scene suddenly discovering he was a secret monkey demon with the powers of the Monkey King all along?? Oh and the very same day he makes this discovery he meets the most handsome young bull demon with fire powers who just completely melts his heart (and tries to literally melt the rest of him too, but doesn't manage it thankfully)
I think in this version MK gets "the talk" from Pigsy about how demons might be coming after him now and he should watch out for "courtnapping" where a demon will just try to snatch him up and marry him. It's a pretty common expression of love, apparently. Demons are not subtle, nor are they patient.
Once the idea gets put into his head, MK cannot stop thinking about how he would go about courtnapping Red Son... I mean, he's a powerful bull demon, the son of his sworn nemesis, and who knows if he's even actually interested in MK?? ...Well, apparently the only way to know is to just go through with it, right?
Meanwhile, Red Son is probably tearing his hair out thinking about that cute monkey demon.. It's probably been centuries since he's thought about anyone in a romantic way like this, if he ever has, and the very idea of it is just driving him mad! Damn him, why did he have to be the successor of Sun Wukong??? Well, he thinks, at least he lives amongst humans so there probably won't be any kidnapping involved here... maybe he can try to court the monkey in a human way. What do they like? Flowers or something?
Cue the Monkie Kid falling out of Red Son's ceiling, having stealthed his way through the Demon Bull Fam's fortress to come and find him. He stands up quickly to see a startled red bull demon looking down at him, and he pulls out some rope and is just like 'Hello, I'm here to courtnap you. I think."
#ask#spicynoodleshipping#dark but not dark spicynoodles#dark but not dark#Anonymous#I gotta write more of that story too#I originally wanted it to be like a rewrite of season 1 but with this spicynoodles dynamic in the background which would've been fun#but I got off the rails with it#as I always do haha
For the love potion fics, might i suggest Wukong having moments of clarity every now and then? Like for a flash, a passing moment he’s normal-ish, exhausted and confused about where he is. Seconds later has him returning to the delirious state. I’d even wager a bet to say that maybe Azure made the potion wrong and it’s having more of a debilitating effect on Wukong than it should. When making a love potion part of it takes a specified amount of petals from a special flower, this flower acts as a mind manipulator. Specifically it makes the mind malleable to accept the new flow of love coming from other ingredients in the potion. Instead of a few petals, Azure put the whole flower in, and now Wukong’s mind and body are fighting each other
anyways. Wukong being genuinely disoriented and scared cause he can’t stay lucid long enough to understand what’s happening to him and MK getting scared too >>>>
Anon: for the love potion au, can we have a sneak peak into what Wukong is experiencing? Obviously it’s a maelstrom of emotions and memories like a fever dream, and a burning need to find Azure but this doesn’t seem like an ordinary love potion, it seems more sinister or potent. anyways poor Wukong is deliriously reaching out towards the door or something, getting distant flashes of MK trying to soothe him or get some water into his system to flush out the poison.
Everything hurt. Everything didn't hurt. Wukong didn't know which- all he knew was that his entire body was on fire.
He needed to get somewhere. He needed to find someone.
He needed to find them. If he didn't find them, he would certainly die.
Wukong couldn't tell up from down. Sometimes he found himself crawling on the floor, reaching for the door. Sometimes he found himself in someone's lap, the person speaking with tears, begging him to drink the water that pooled into his face and occasionally his throat. Other voices occasionally joined the first, too rough against the gentler one.
Sometimes he heard voices, gentle cooing ones. Begging him to come, to come find whoever he was looking for.
Wukong had never been so scared in his life.
To be fair season 5 canon mk wasn't much of a mediator. In the jail cell he just changed topic, and when they're freed and shadowpeach starts fighting, Mk just moves in front to explain the situation to everyone else. Smart, not putting himself in the middle on purpose. (Though maybe problematic? Mk has this huge thing about ignoring/supressing problems and thinking that makes them go away)
true, MK can't really be one because he doesn't know the truth. and he probably understands it'll be futile. He's not so concerned with helping them find common ground because he's got his own stress going on. and he's sleep deprived. and afraid. and all that. so.
he's being a master of deflection and downplaying his own trauma and fear. MK has no clue how to handle his own emotions and believes keeping his mind busy with constant distractions is the right way to go. he doesn't want to confront certain things because he's afraid of what they'll mean or where he could end up going.
MK doesn't want to be this huge chaos bringer, he just wants to go back to wacky adventures like a saturday morning cartoon. poor guy...but he's definitely compartmentalizing for sure. something fierce. which is, obviously, just harming his own mental health and well-being.
he desperately needs someone to just tell it to him straight and sit him down and talk him through it. because that stress is having an affect on MK's body, too. He could also be taking on the stress of shadowpeach fighting. not mediating, but understanding that their feud is another topic that needs to be resolved. but it's too much for right now, so he doesn't do anything about it. he can't do anything about it, because he can't even help himself.
It's v problematic. Just like with Wukong, they both don't know how to speak about these issues. Wukong like. cannot bring up the subject and stick with it. He doesn't want to upset MK. and MK will deflect and avoid until he's blue in the face.
they sorely need Macaque to be there, because he's the only one that won't let them run or hide from their problems and their own fears. the danger and weight and fear is scary, true, but not facing it just makes everything harder. and there's so many assumptions. you don't know what's going to happen for sure. Macaque needs to tell MK this desperately 😂
LMK Heaven Needs Work Theories / Season 5 Ideas!
The heavens of the Lmk universe has been in need to fire some guards or update protocols. With the death of the Jade Emperor, they should know it's the time. I made them and us a small map of needed changes and more mistakes they've made. The episode the Revenge of the Spider Queen is the best example of this.
When the crew and Red s\Son sneaked around the palace, Peach orchard, and the alchemy lab is the best example of how low the security of the palace is. How mortals were able to sneak around the place is extraordinary.
They parked a huge ship at the front entrance, demons were running ramped around loudly, the orchard was being trampled, the lab had dangerous viles spilled and dark magics unleashed, and even worse the security that was there the lion guards were activated and running after intruders. None of this was quiet this was a huge amount of noise in a very quiet environment.
But where were the guards, the guys in charge of protecting this place? Why with all this noise was no one reacting to it. Either they got overconfident in their powers and did not see anyone else as being a real threat and did not have their guards out at all times. This is my most thought theory for it because they have shown time and time again to be overconfident and think they are the biggest fish in the pond.
The other theory is there was something going on at another place, either at another building in the realm or in further parts of the palace. A big event might explain it if they were loud enough maybe. It might also explain the lack of just other beings sure we saw some maidens and maybe scholars but other than that no other gods or goddesses were around.
Some might say it's just a show thing but Megaopolis has a lot of background art and characters this could have been a chance to have shown more of their ideas of the heavenly realm. A guard in armor a known figure or two just sneaking around. They did not do that here. Why?
ALSO with the aftermath of this damage, I thought of FIC IDEAS or even POSSIBLE IDEAS for SEASON 5 it's whichever you think it is!
With the Jade Emperor gone the realm need a new emperor but into someone can handle the power a full true leader might not be chosen for a bit. However, they might have a temporary leader until then. My thoughts instantly go to Erlang Shen.
We did not get to see much of him except for a few scenes. But this could be the chance. With how things work in the celestial realm they would most likely have the temporary Emperor aka Erlang Shen be handling issues like the aftermath of the Camel Ridge Trio's invasion, LDB, and most of all the crew's "rampage" through the palace and their "thieving". With their strong sense of what is right or wrong. The crew might be put on trial for all the destruction but with no thought of their good motives and reasons.
Maybe seeing too many parallels like many of Sun Wukong's former opponents have between MK and Wukong, they might feel threatened. Then my mind went to the golden fillet. it's how they handled Sun Wukong before why should it not work again for MK right? (That's their opinion not mine.)
But I also thought of Wukong getting blamed or taking the blame for what the others did while he was tied up. I can see the dragon lords getting mad and blaming Wukong for Mei's actions because he "obviously influenced her." NOT seeing that's just Mei's personality. With a conflict against heaven for the next season I can see more explanations of Wukongs actions during his time there and maybe, even more, incite into what happened during the "betrayal".
Whumptober 2024 - LMK fic
Like the rest of my fanfics:
' ' for thoughts
" " for speech
No triggers, don't worry, just some minor self-esteem issue
{honestly surprised how MK hasn't got trust issues yet, with how many times he's been tricked]
MK was in Flower Fruit Mountain, waiting for Wukong, who called him for something, but wouldn't say why. He patiently sat on the edge of the mountain, looking at the horizon. He hated being alone like this, with nothing to do, since it gave him time to think.
He tried to only think about happy things, like his friends, his family, what Pigsy was doing, revisiting the stories Mr. Tang would tell. But then, one of the tales made him remember about the calabash. Oh, the calabash. It was a HELL. Everything was “perfect”, sure, but it was so unnerving. He should've figured something was up sooner, he's so stupid.
‘I'm sure if it was anyone else they would've figured it out’ He thought to himself, sighing heavily in frustration. He then started thinking about all the times he was tricked. And there were many, where he should've guessed sooner. ‘I mean, what would a little girl be doing in the sewers, close to spider queen's lair?’
He brought his knees to his chest, hugging them tightly ‘And I shouldn't have trusted Azure so fast. Why would he be inside Monkey King's lair?! This makes no sense! Why did I trust him so easily?’
His thoughts started to spiral out of control, going from ‘you're so stupid, anyone else would've figured it sooner’ to ‘if I had known it before, none of my friends would've gotten hurt’. As he started to panic, he didn't notice Wukong getting closer, touching him in the shoulder when the kid didn't answer his name being called.
MK jumped slightly, tense as he looked at Wukong with wide and scared eyes, before realizing where he was once again and sighing in relief. “Oh, hey, Monkey King! Sorry, you gave me a scare. Did you find what you were looking for?” MK hurriedly sent a question in Wukong's direction, in hopes he wouldn't notice how he was tense before.
But of course, the king simply looked at him, worried. He got a little closer and sat down, looking at MK, looking for what to say. He took a deep breath, putting one of his hands on his shoulder “MK, bud, I know you don't like to talk about your feelings, but take it from someone who has been doing it for too long, you need to talk to someone.”
Mk just blinked, not sure if he should or shouldn't talk with Wukong about it. What if he started blaming MK for being so naive too? He didn't think he could handle someone he admired so much to think he was guilty. What if he decided to no longer have his as a successor?
Before he could spiral further into his own head, a voice spoke from the shadows “He's right, you know, kid? For once” the six-eared Macaque said as he got out of a shadow on the wall, leaning on it as soon as all his body got out. “I thought we already had this talk, at the theater? How you should talk about your feelings? I know I was tricking you” in a lower voice he complemented with an “again” before continuing “but I was serious about it.”
MK got mad at the mention of him being tricked, small tears forming at the corner of his eyes “That's exactly the problem! I fell for your tricks, just like I fell for Lady Bone Demon's, the fake reality on the calabash and just like I fell for Azure's acting!”
Both Macaque and Wukong were taken aback by the sudden outburst, but before they could react, MK continued. “I was so stupid! I shouldn't have trusted them! I-it didn't even make sense for me to trust Lady Bone Demon, even if she looked like a little girl! I mean, why would a random kid be close to Spider Queen's lair?! And the calabash was so obviously a trap! Anyone would've figured it out sooner”
He started rambling, tears starting to stream down his face as he started to finally let his emotions flow. He started furiously wiping his tears, not wanting to cry in front of his mentor and his ex-mentor. He opened his mouth to continue, but Wukong interrupted him before he could.
“Hey, hey, MK, it's okay, none of these are your fault.” He motioned his hand in front of MK, trying to calm him down “you were just trying to help, anyone in your position would've tried to help a little girl. And Azure always had a certain… charm, in tricking people. And, I'm sorry, but you got stuck in what?”
MK calmed down, his tears not apparent anymore, but he was still sniffling a little “In the calabash” MK answered in a small voice, thinking that, if Wukong didn't blame him before, he would definitely be mad he got himself caught in the calabash, but Wukong just looked at him as if proud “and you were able to get out, alone, I suppose. Great job, bud! [I have no idea if it's hard or not, I'm so sorry if it's inaccurate:/] Look, MK, if you hadn't helped them, they would've gotten what they wanted in some other way. You did what you thought was right, and got everything back to normal when was wrong, and that's all that matter”
Macaque cut him out “AND! Don't forget that these two were originally Wukong's problems, not yours, so the fault is not yours, is his, since he's a problematic monkey” he teased, trying to lighten the mood for the boy. He added, rather awkwardly, if this was even possible for the simian “And I'm sorry that I too dragged you into my fight with Wukong, I shouldn't have tricked you, kid”
MK felt both shock and relief. None of them blamed him for trusting the others, didn't think he was naive for trying to help, even if it resulted in something worse happening. Wukong got up and ruffled his hair. “Don't worry about it, okay? Just keep helping others, and if they are tricking you, we'll just need to make things right again, as we always do, fix everything.”
Mk laughed a little as Wukong messed with his hair, getting up, his body less tense, and his confidence better “Thanks, Monkey King. Thank you too, Macaque” the shadow monkey just gave a smirk “Don't mention it, kid”
Wukong got up too, smiling at MK, happy that the kid was feeling better. They proceeded to look for what Wukong wanted to show MK, which was the whole reason he was even up the mountain.
this particular concept is harder to convey in canon form, so this mainly applies to gijinkas, but my headcanon is that the healthy weight for a (kirby/meta knight species) is fat. this is in tandem with the species having a voracious appetite. the appetite is much higher in youth and usually tapers off later in life (100s of years). also of note is that it's good for them to get a ton of sleep. like, domestic cat amounts of sleep.
kirby and sk for example are "chubby", they're healthy for their age (equivalent of their teens) and still in the stage of life with a BIG appetite. mk and dmk are basically middle aged and at the tail end of their biggest appetite.
mk would appear "fit" by human standards, but for his kind he is notably underweight. he was raised by adoptive parents unfamiliar with the needs of his kind, who prevented him from basically pigging out like he should have been (they meant well. they didn't know better). not only his physique but his height/overall size was slightly stunted from undernourishment. he is pretty small for his age.
obviously this has given him a particular relationship with food. most of his proper meals are quite healthy and light, but then there's the daily affogato and secret cakes... as a child, "treats" were rare. now as an adult, he can eat as much as he wants, but he still has this deep rooted compulsion to hide his indulgences and limit himself. he does not actually know that his restrained eating habits are unhealthy for him.
he also does not sleep enough. at all. chronic under-sleeper here.
mk would benefit from having someone to show him that he is actually the odd one out, and help him stick to a more substantial diet and sleep schedule. in my case this is dmk. once mk starts to fill out, he develops better stamina and even feels a bit more energetic and strong. he is healthier and happier. he is a bit self conscious of the weight gain, of course, but he has many many friends to reassure him and help him along.
this is mostly about mk lol, but to add. dmk is just a bit overweight. he is actually slightly bigger (borb)/taller (gijinka) than mk, thanks to actually eating very well as a child.
technically galacta is older than mk and dmk, but was sealed and put in stasis in (the equivalent of) his 20s or so. so he came out of the crystal still in the peak of his Massive Appetite. and galacta is a mountain of a man, so he needs to eat even more to sustain himself. not to mention the cosmic nuclear infection he's got going on that's eating him from the inside out probably sets off his diet some. galacta eats like an industrial trash compactor, and he's still just a bit underweight.
morpho is not of their kind, but just mimicking it. since they siphon energy from galacta to maintain their form, they purposefully keep it veeery petite to put as little strain on him as possible. if they were an actual borb, they would be considered severely underweight.
OKOKOK I DONT KNOW IF ILL MAKE IT BUT I NEED SOMEONE TO SO!
Pokémon!LMK!!!!!
Firstly this is going to be ESPECIALLY inspired by the anime since I’m watching it rn. And I barely know anything about Pokémon soooooooo….
ONTO THE AU IDEA
Mk gets woken up by Mei who wanted to be at his house to scare him when he got back from the poke-lab to get his pokemon, and the both realize he’s late as shit.
When they finally get there this really weird dude that’s obviously in a disguise is like “I’m the professor or doctor or smth I don’t really know, your late, have this random guy”
MK’s like, I’ll take what I can get, and takes Pokémon out it his pokeball (which is really intricately designed, especially the red bits, with a whole bunch of fire stuff) and it turns out to be a Chimchar which the professor seemed really impressed by (not the Chimchar part the part where Mk could get him out of the ball).
Also there was this one Pokémon master who’s main guy was an Infernape (the third evolution stage of Chimchar) and so Mk was like really excited about this.
They go on their adventure (Mei’s not old enough to have a Pokémon yet, but she wants to join Mk on his journey and her parents know they couldn’t stop her if they tried [and they did]) and meet their first gym, a fire gym.
✨Redson✨
MK’s got some more Pokémon at this point but starts out with Chimchar, in the same ball that he was originally in. Redson accuses Mk of stealing, Mk denies, they get into a bigger fight and turns out professor sketchy face was Sun Wukong (the aforementioned great trainer Mk likes so much [plot twist of the century]) “stole it” and gave it to Mk and now Redson is following Mei and Mk around like team rocket.
(Long story short, Sun Wukong breed another Chimchar and put him in a ball that could only be opened by someone worthy, someone Sun Wukong would train. Then either Redson seemed like a good candidate, couldn’t open it, and then they all got huffy he couldn’t so they kept him [until SWK stole him back] or DBK, PIF, and Redson just stole it [because it’s so powerful blah blah blah])
So now that’s happening, Mk is in touch with Sun Wukong, his dad Pigsy, and his dad’s husband Tang. Then Pigsy (being worried about his son) calls his old friend Sandy to help them (he’s a water type Pokémon breeder). This whole thing can happen before or after Mk meets Redson but yk (probably before but I was too excited about Redson).
Mei’s parents are visiting the town their in (on totally unrelated business what do you mean???) and woo yay it was Mei’s 10th birthday a little bit ago and now her parents asked her to watch over this one intricate pokeball (it’s green and while with dragon designs on the green bit).
One of Redsons Pokémon tries to steal it, but with the help from the Rayquaza inside the ball, Mei is able to defeat them. Mei says sorry to her parents for opening the pokeball, they say their proud of her and we’re gonna get it to her anyway (when she was older, but Mei always had a way with ruining their plans). Something something family.
I honestly don’t know too much yet (might reblog this later with more thoughts on the AU) but I do know I want Redson to go to Mk and Mei’s side (also Sandy is there) and maybe have like a Toph/Brock arc????? Again I don’t really know
I was specifically imagining that Redson actually deeply cares about his Pokémon and has nicknames for all of them, but only catches fire types. Aside from and Eevee who he plans to make into a Flareon but ends up accidentally making into a Sylveon because he coddles him too much or smth. Arc about him trying to find what makes him happy and trying to get his parents to not cut him out of their life pretty please with a cherry on top.
But that’s all I got so far…
#On the other: I think Wukong very much did abandon macaque first lol#But they abandoned each other (It's why MK and Mei not doing so is 👌👌👌👌👌)#And I think like. Why should Macaque have to bail Wukong out and put himself in danger with all of heaven because of what Wukong chose to d#This post almost has the opposite problem of ''Wukong is villainzied while Macaque is a baby boy'' like#Wukong wasn't a good person either (they both suck(ed))#But he changed#''We can't change who we were yesterday or in a past life or a hundred lifetimes ago! We live with the choices we've made for what-#-matters is the choices we make right now!''#Like yeah obviously Macaque was biased. (He says so himself: ''Everyone is the hero of their own story'')#But Macaque also steps in in s2 because Wukong LITERALLY abandoned MK chasing after another source of power.#SWK is making the same mistake he always has. And then MK in s2 is ALSO making that same mistake#And Macaque had to be a loser about it but it is very interesting to see it from his pov.#He steps in when MK is acting that little bit too much like Wukong in all the wrong ways. (2x07 4x09)#But maybe I think in general that ''antagonist'' is a better word to describe macaque rather than villain
ok, putting all this under the cut because I disagree with this assessment!
I think Wukong very much did abandon macaque first lol: Huh, i... do not agree. Yes, wukong stormed heaven for more power, but he was literally side by side with macaque. that's not... abandonment. that's literally not the definition of the word. the two relevant definitions of abandonment are a) cease to support or look after (someone); desert, and b) condemn someone or something to (a specified fate) by ceasing to take an interest in them. wukong only did the second half of definition b? mac wasn't condemned without him, and wukong fought with him until it was time to go toe to toe with the jade emperor. yes, wukong did let his priorities overcome his affections, but wukong didn't leave him. before the battle he even made a specific point to include & support macaque when the rest of the brotherhood didn't notice mac wasn't there, like, wukong did not abandon him. it wasn't healthy and wukong WAS getting worse but wukong did not abandon him. In a non-judgemental way, I genuinely don't understand where you're getting that from...?
I do agree that mac was not obligated to bail him out and didn't need to, no other comments there. it was literally impossible anyway, wukong was just taking it out on mac. 2/10 man could have handled that better
(I even think him saying "great! just what I wanted! A peach!" and then following with "aw, I really wanted that peach" as soon as mac leaves could not more clearly indicate that he didn't mean what he was saying, and was just angry. mac clearly did though... ouch. peach representing friendship… rejecting it in the heat of the moment… wanting it back as soon as it's ruined… you get the idea.)
#But Macaque also steps in in s2 because Wukong LITERALLY abandoned MK chasing after another source of power. Also... not exactly? under the previous definition a, yes, but abandon is a really harsh word. If he had actually abandoned mk, he wouldn't have tried to do the training astral projections for him! Of course, MK FEELS abandoned because wukong didn't tell him he was looking for a way to protect him. wukong doesn't communicate because he wants to protect people from the truth, and ends up hurting them worse than if he just told the truth. major character flaw spotted lol. Still, this is a lack of communication thing, not intent to abandon (and by the dictionary definition, you cannot abandon without intent). I think the word you're looking for is neglect: give less than the appropriate level of care to, rather than leave entirely.
Wukong is a deeply loyal character. He doesn't give up on anyone, (Even a smidge makes all the difference, anyone?) unless they break things off first (see the brotherhood). Or he has a really bad day. (F for macaque) Wukong thinks the world of his loved ones and would never abandon them, no matter how far (literally) he goes for them. But he has been neglectful of them and not given them the appropriate amount of attention or communication, especially in comparison to his own goals. It's a difference of synonyms, sure, but it truly means the world to me!
I guess at the end of it, you see mac and wukong as equal forces in causing the other pain, and I don't think that at all: wukong has genuinely good intentions that are NOT centered around himself, that are emphasized in the show. macaque absolutely does not lol. it may have been different in the past, but mac never showed interest in protecting anyone except wukong, to the point of not being interested in the rest of the brotherhood or the monkeys.
This gets more into a personal theory, but mac's whole trauma brain seems way more severe than just one friend breakup/murder, to the point where he appears to mostly look out for himself even in flashbacks. it could be just his personality, but part of me genuinely wonders if he was learning those lessons well before wukong. For a character that shows up in one chapter in jttw and has no backstory before wukong in lmk, i seriously implore you to consider this one... much to chew on!
((please note a lot of this topic intersects with my own pain and is highly personal. i will drop this conversation like a hot potato if it ends up upsetting me, just as a warning!))
Platonic Noodlefam Headcanons
(Pigsy is best dad, I’ll be the first to say)
Growing up with these three is wildly chaotic. MK’s boundless energy, Tang’s noodle shenanigans and Pigsy’s hair-trigger temper has definitely left an impact on you.
Probably, you’re some kid that Tang finds god knows where, and he thinks: “If Pigsy can raise a kid, I can too.”
And he’s not entirely wrong, because you do find yourself slowly assimilating into this strange little family. To even out this wacky high-energy trio, you quickly mature and become somewhat stoic, providing a steady rock for the others.
However, if you’re younger than MK, you’ll definitely provide him with another insecurity to overcome. Having someone who is younger than him be more mature and sometimes far more helpful can be incredibly demoralizing. Still, he’s a protective presence in your life, always stepping up to shield you from danger. Anyone who dares to lay a hand on you will; in short order, find themselves face down in the dirt.
If you’re older, he instead looks up to you as a stable and competent source of support. He cares for Pigsy and Tang, really, he does. But Tang can be petty and is somewhat dramatic, and Pigsy, though reliable, can be grumpy and blunt. You provide a constant in MK’s life, someone he can turn to and ask for advice without too much judgment.
Either way, expect to cover more than a few shifts while he’s out saving the city/world.
For Tang, you’re a motivator to be better, because he can’t let a child take his place as “the smart one”, though he eventually realizes that being mature doesn’t mean that you’re as well-learned as he is. In fact, forcing yourself to be mature and reliable all the time without any breaks is clearly grinding you away bit by bit. On your particularly rough days, he’ll take you aside and have you sit down with him for a while. He’ll read you some of the lighter stories from Journey to the West, giving you a much-needed moment to recharge.
For Pigsy, you’re another troublesome child. Refusing to take breaks or reject requests for help, you run yourself dry to lend a hand to others. I personally think a lot of people overlook just how genuinely capable and successful Pigsy is in canon. Raised a kid by himself while running a popular noodle shop, also by himself. He’s clearly very skilled and dedicated.
And experienced, too. You think he doesn’t know that you’re worn out, kid? That you haven’t slept in four days? Nice try. He’ll put a hand on your back and guide you to your room, standing in the doorway with his arms crossed until you finally lay down and pass out.
Spending time with Tang and MK together almost always results in you and your brother sitting side by side as Tang recites tales of the Monkey King’s journeys. MK usually has his head on your lap or shoulder, but he never falls asleep. He just sits there, fervently taking in each and every word. Also, expect to try lots of new food with them. Pigsy puts something new on the menu? You all are trying it together. A new food stall opens? The three of you are first in line. A limited edition drink comes out? Your little triad will be testing it day one.
MK and Pigsy are pretty much opposites, one grounded and down-to-earth, the other energetic and reckless. However, they clearly care for each other greatly, and make for a good team whenever they join forces. Probably you work at the noodle shop with the two of them, giving them plenty of opportunity to look out for you. MK will physically push himself between you and any unruly customers, ready to square off, but Pigsy is quick to grab said customers and throw them outside.
Pigsy and Tang obviously serve as the parental figures in this little quartet, but one is a lot better at it than the other. Tang will probably feel more like a cool uncle that comes to visit on holidays, but you’ve accidentally called Pigsy “dad” more than a few times. You should expect for any potential suitors to be warded away without hesitation. Tang will cry out about his ‘weak ankles’ and then “accidentally” trip and spill his noodles on whoever is bothering you. Pigsy will straight up launch a wooden spoon directly into the face of anyone who dares to hit on you while you’re working.
Altogether, you’re a surprisingly functional family unit that’s far from nuclear, but your differences only serve to bring you closer together.
🍒, 🥀, ⚔️, 🪄, 💫, ♟️, & 🧋 for anyone!!
🍒 (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?
for Fondue, Perihelion, and TK
Obviously Fondue gets along best with Bandee and Dedede! But I think he'd also like Adeleine, who he probably developed a soft spot for when she stayed at Castle Dedede. On the other hand, Marx would(and does) annoy the everloving daylights out of him, and he dislikes Taranza.
Peri would greatly enjoy Magolor's company, to the mage's surprise. It's good to know the Lor is in caring hands. It'd also like talking about technology with Susie, comparing methods and experiences. Though they'd dislike Marx's senseless disorder.
TK would really like Flamberge, a fellow hothead, and for some reason I think he'd be fond of Gooey? He knows a good boi when he sees one ig. DMK would frustrate and confuse him though. Are you Meta Knight or aren't you?!
🥀 (Wilted Rose) - Do they have a Soul form? What would it look and act like? How much control over themselves do they have? Is it still possible to save them, or are they too far gone?
for Pheonix Knight
Pheonix Knight indeed has a Soul form! Four flaming wings, giant clawed hands holding a bident crackling and kept together with raw energy, and harsh glowing eyes full of grief. For a Soul form he's actually very lucid, but fixated on vengeance, no matter who or what is in the way. As to if they could be saved . . . it was possible, but the only people who could have pulled him back couldn't find him, or weren't born, or had were the indirect cause of him falling down this path. In the end his soul was claimed by the Scarlet Butterfly, before it could be any further damaged.
⚔️ (Crossed Swords) - What weapon(s) do they wield or specialize in, if any in particular? Any special properties? Do their weapons have names or epithets? [e.g. MK’s Galaxia, Morpho’s Doomblade]
For Carmilla
Carmilla's a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, but she specializes in crossbow and throwing knives! None of her weapons have unique properties or names.
🪄 (Magic Wand) - Are they capable of wielding magic? Is it a learned skill, or is it innate? What sorts of spells can they cast? Do they possess any magical items or artifacts? [e.g. the Dimensional Mantle]
for Rosentine and Brocade
Rosentine's magic is all learned, and mostly works with plant and growth magic. She can also call apon the heart magic in the blue gems of her brooch and crown, which she uses to defend herself when need be.
Brocade's magic, on the other hand, is innate! She used heart magic mostly in combat, but learned healing magic as an adult to make sure her friends don't die doing their stupid shenanigans. She also wielded the crystal gun, which became an heirloom for the Royal Family of Ripplestar.
💫 (Shooting Star) - If they were to wish on a clockwork star, like Galactic Nova or Star Dream, what would they wish for?
For Perihelion
They would wish for knowledge, about technology, and about the people around them that they never fully understood. Maybe if they understood their peers more, or knew enough about technology, it could be free of the isolation brought apon them by their twin tails.
♟️ (Pawn) - Does your OC get possessed easily, or do they have the willpower to fight back against any possible attempts? Have they been possessed before?
For TK
Taurus has a very strong will, so at very least he'd put up a strong fight against any possible puppeteers. And he'd have a bit of an extra edge against Dark Matter as well, since he's spent the past ~7 years wielding a sword containing Dark Magic.
But he's not infallible. If someone or something was especially fierce in it's attempts, or just appealed to his ego, it's likely be enough to pull him down. He's been able to avoid situations that would put him at risk of possession so far in life, though.
🧋 (Boba Tea) - Come up with a Kirby Café item themed around your OC! It can be a savoury dish, a drink, a dessert, or something else entirely.
For Brocade
I think Brocade's dish would be a light, fluffy cake with lavender frosting, topped with whipped cream and diamond-shaped cookies decorated to mirror her wings. It'd come with a cup of herbal tea, with a special design on the teacup.
What do you think of the resolution of the Samadhi Fire arc?
I'll take this to mean the "Embrace Your Destiny" special, which effectively closes what I consider to be the first arc in Lego Monkie Kid!
Between liking it as a finale and liking it as set-up for the next season, I decidedly like it as set-up more (but there is plenty to enjoy about what they answered/resolved). I think the 3x13 flashback gives a lot of depth to LBD (which is then later paralleled to by Azure), and it answers a couple questions along the way, like: why? Why did the Lady Bone Demon do any of this? Why was she in her prison? Why is the Mayor in league with her? And ultimately, what is her destiny?
As far as those questions go, I liked the answers the show gave and how LBD's defeat was ultimately brought about (through standing together and with that unity bringing about hope/the future, something that was contrasted by MK's s2 arc and supported by 3x08 and 3x10, doing it together vs doing it alone).
The final confrontation of ideals is beautiful to me, boiling down to perfection vs imperfection (chaos?👀):
Lady Bone Demon: "You would allow this world to continue to fester and rot? The eternal misery of countless souls because of your sentimentality for mortal pleasures!" MK: "*yells* You can't judge things by they're worst qualities!" Tang: "This world might not be perfect, but it's still worth fighting for!" Pigsy: "Yeah! Sometimes it's that little bit of char that makes for a more flavorful meat! Even if it is a bit tangy." Sandy: "You said it Mo! The world may be full of darkness, but to let the light shine, all we need to do is stand together!"
Like this sentiment of an imperfect world being worth fighting for, and by extension imperfect people being worth fighting for, is one I love. It also ties in nicely with MK and his low self-esteem, (like, thematically, heaven knows he has not applied his "you can't judge things by they're worst qualities" mentality to himself), where you can still love/defend things that aren't perfect or wholly "good". This naturally affixes itself to Wukong, who has lifetimes of mistakes. At this point MK chooses to ignore and repress his perception of Wukong's flaws, but eventually, we're going to go the direction of loving people in all there imperfectness. Yes, even when someone has made terrible mistakes, you can still fight for them and care about them (4x08, 4x13).
Though, let me also talk about Samadhi Fire Mei and possessed Wukong! I love both of these concepts, and I love the way they were executed. "Don't use the flame Mei...Be the flame!" linking to 1x09 "You don't use a weapon....you ARE a weapon!" This idea of "using vs being" intrigues me, and I think it works in tandem with being controlled versus having your freewill. The Lady Bone Demon both used Mei and Wukong for her purposes, and her ruin was for them to be themselves. I think you can also view Azure with this lens—he was so focused on using the Jade Emperor's Power to change the world/revenge, he ignored actually being the Jade Emperor.
Overall, I think Samadhi Fire Mei does a good job of continuing Mei's arc (using power to protect those you care about), and perpetuating the pattern of her following in MK's footsteps. For Wukong, he's a character who always desires the ability to do whatever he wants. So possession is delightfully ironic for Wukong, you know. He keeps running off to keep MK safe, but running off is what also put his protege in danger, from his own hands no less ("Can't you see you're hurting the people who care about you the most?" - "Until I know what I am, what my destiny is? I can't risk hurting the people I care about—the one's I have left.").
And obviously 3x14 has one of my favorite scenes in the whole show, that being the "To pain" scene, which continued to blur the "good guy"-"bad guy" lines that have slowly been obscured over the course of Monkie Kid. I will never shut up about that scene. Doing what you think is right and giving it your best can still lead to disappointing and terrible outcomes.
And of course, they began "A Hero is Born" with a Tang narration about the past, and then ended 3x14 with a Tang narration about the present. I always love a good book-ending.
#yeah so you could say I think it was kind of good#I guess I should have talked about EYD more as a resolution but I struggle to view it that way#cause there's just so much damn set-up#but! It answered a lot of questions for me and did a good job wrapping up arc 1. So yeah I thought it was pretty good#Had it been the finale of the show I would NOT have thought it was as good as i do now#(not enough Wukong & MK resolution)#(but it also probably would have been written differently as a finale)#s4 is so special to me. it really is.#asks#lmk#lego monkie kid#lmk analysis
