We know a lot about how Michael's PTSD affects him but what about the other Archangels?

Basically everyone is handling it better than him, they never had his codependency, weren't as involved in the visceral parts and aren't trying to convince themselves he's dead and thus aren't making more grief for themselves just to repress it.

He's just the estranged brother to the rest, even the still real pissy ones see him at least every couple centuries for awkward diplomatic reasons, Zadkiel and Lucifer hang out semi-regularly.

(Expect for Michael, they haven't seen each other since the Fall, but this post isn't about him)

They aren't unaffected obv, but its sutler and more about his absence than the event itself, and the looming threat now hanging over their heads.

However there is a narrative representation of this change I think you'd be interested in! The Original Sin brought suffering and evil into creation, as the pillars of reality they risked their grip of their domains slipping out of control.

They had to reflect all of what creation was, absorb a bit of the blow, swallow the consequences of Lucifer's mistake. Become worse for it.

The changes sunk in bone deep, they struggle to imagine the time before they thought like they do now. But they do remember, being different once, it haunts a lot of them, some the deeper anger they harbour for Lucifer, is from that whole psychological horror.

Raphael; Archangel of Life, Keeper of Balance, and Death

Raphael gained a callousness with little respect for those you refuse to accept the the cycle that they institute. They are patron of plague just as agriculture, of health and rot, bringer of life and death; and in the most patient understanding way they can put this, Get Over It. This is what balance means. There is no life that doesn't require the death of others, sometimes, between you and bacteria, its not your life that triumphs.

Their authority is honestly a more immediate threat than Michael's, who's iron grip is at least restricted to Heaven and the heavenborn culture we struggle to relate to. Raphael is the enforcer of our limits, its thanks to them we will not evade the walls of Heaven and Hell for long.

A cruel but natural evolution from Raphael's role as the flora that limited humanity in the Eden period. The cage transformed to be more suited for the free of will.

Uriel; Archangel of Stars, Keeper of Knowledge, and Hunger

Uriel's always had a strange blind spot, no more privy to His plan than any of their siblings. That gap turned into a clawing aching blackhole that refuses to be sated. They are the holder of His wisdom and yet they are denied this with no recourse. What good are they if they don't even know what the goal is.

This is appetite and ambition. Flame that continues to burn through whatever you feed it. This is the breadth knowledge that will always eclipse the amount you can know. This is the gaps in your memory. This is staring into the void of space and realizing you will never touch any of it. This is the expanse of time from before and after your little blip of existence that you will never be apart of.

Curiosity taut fraught by bitterness and desperation. A gatekeeper who themselves are not allowed to know what they guard. Is this penance? Uriel wonders, for failing their post in Eden, having to bare ignorance as defence after proving inadequate themselves.

Gabriel; Archangel of Progress, Keeper of Revelation, and Malice

Gabriel is at heart a paragon, they will do what is right no matter what. This also makes their mindset simple with little room for nuance. In the rise of sin came with it division, the categories of allies and enemies. While before there was only good, but its given way to an entirely black and white view of the world. They have no tolerance for those that threaten what is good.

They do not listen, nor will they feel guilt. They carry God's very word, what could you add? Nothing else matters. Cutting you down is what is right. It's a breeding ground for war and brutality, for anything is justified against an enemy. A hero does no wrong.

Quick and efficient to a fault, they leave people deemed unworthy behind. Never stopping long enough to second guess. Acting entirely on gut instinct that demands the purging of the undesirable. Sever every hitch and fib until all is plain uncomplicated truth.

A twisted nostalgia they drag behind as a they race forward to regain the simple glory of being Eden's protector, before there was deception, before they knew a brother's betrayal.

Jophiel; Archangel of Beauty, Keeper of Passion, and Bloodshed

Jophiel wears her heart on her sleeve, she experiences emotions and sensations at such an elevated intensity that they cannot be refused or repressed. Compelled in a thousand different ways to bring them into the world, if only to get them out of her. She paints, she dances, she sculpts, she cries. She learned that beauty meant a lot of things, can come from a lot of places.

Her manic episodes before could get a bit volatile. But after the range of emotional expression widened and deepened, once suffering was added to her spectrum her stability spiralled. These far extremes were not spared from magnetism. They could not be refused or repressed; now skin could break, could be broken, in rage, in despair, in desire - she had to get them out of her, she had to make them real.

Beauty means so many things. There is carnage in her wake.

Zadkiel didn't have a role in creation, for reasons they still don't know. They once had hope that eventually they'd be able to leave their mark.

They don't why they were soaked in the same creation as their siblings, just to be made to rest eternally. Bearing the name Architect as nothing but a hollow title.

They keep their faith, they have nothing else to block out the thoughts of meaninglessness, of waste; that they have no reason for continuing to exist. They have no other reason to believe there's any point to them at all. Expect for faith, faith doesn't need proof, or trust. They clutch it tight in shaking hands, clasp together and close to their heart.

What good is faith without tribulation?

Futile sacrifice, pointless waste, useless potential, missed opportunity, crushing unbearable hopelessness.

Misfortune Zadkiel carries with them, inescapable random meaningless tragedy. They pray the grace and kindness they bring is enough for you to find your peace despite your fickle woe; they pray you offer to others the same. ~

Jophiel is the most viscerally aware, upset and scared of how she been changed and holds it hard against Lucifer, Raphael is on some level disturbed by how their entire attitude towards living things was restructured into a constant potential threat but has decided not to worry about it, its buried real deep down there, Uriel's trying real hard to distance themselves from their desperate need as something apart from them, which works until it doesn't and they're yelling at Lucifer or whoever out of crippling insecurity, Zadkiel is dealing with it like they deal with everything, reciting prayers until there isn't any room for bad thought, they love their big brother.

How I Manifest

Hi lovlies!! Someone asked me to share my manifesting routine so here it is, i hope you will find it helpful ^-^ 𓆩♡𓆪 I have a routine for morning and night, I use the ''Routine'' app for my routines and i have been gatekeeping this app for so long because i really love it and i can get everything done with that. 𓆩♡𓆪My morning routine involves a lot of self-improvement, self-care etc habits inside of it, including visualisation, affirming, journaling. 𓆩♡𓆪VISUALISATION: I use the pinterest app for inspiration. I have lots of moodboards based on what i want to manifest, for example material things, 2024 goals, dresses and jewelries i would love to have, dream body, relationship goals etc. I give myself 10-15 mins to visualize what i would like. I do this both morning and night. 𓆩♡𓆪AFFIRMING: Before visualisation, i do affirming. I use the premium version of the ''I am'' app. I sometimes use the themes on the app, sometimes i use the photos i designed myself for my manifestations for the wallpaper. I wrote a lot of the affirmations myself but i use the ones in Tumblr and created some of them based on the subs i listen to. I do affirming two times in a day scheduled, other than that times i do it whenever it comes to my mind. Like if i have a fear, i just affirm otherwise. 𓆩♡𓆪JOURNALING:Okay, i do journaling for my affirmations just to relax my mind because i love to write. It is therapeutic for myself. I also write my scripts this way. I only do journaling when i feel like it in the night routine. 𓆩♡𓆪SUBLIMINALS:I use many many subs. I love silent subs the most because i can watch series, have breakfast or study while listening to them. I prefer them more than the other ones. I have a very spesific music taste so i do not enjoy most subliminal channels's musics. I can share a list of the subs i use if you guys want to, let me know ^-^ 𓆩♡𓆪ACTIVELY TRYING: I know we can manifest anything we want effortlessly but i do not enjoy sitting around and doing nothing about it. I really do love the feeling of accomplishment when i finish a 5 hour study session, 1h of Chloe Ting workout or cleaning around our house. So i also manifest to have more self-discipline. I love to make effort, but you do not have to. It is just how i prefer. Of course i do not want to make anything harder for myself to manifest obv. I am just putting into work, for example i love working out but suck at diets. I do my workouts and i manifest my diet to get healthier and better ^^ 𓆩♡𓆪TAKING BREAKS: When i feel like i am doing ''too much'' or trying so hard, i let go. I take a few days off from my routines. Because i do not want to block my energy. I assume, and i let go. 𓆩♡𓆪BELIEVING:BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Trust the law, IT IS LITERALLY A LAW. Just, trust the process.

Now I don't claim to know a goddamn thing about how time passes in this fuckin show but A MONTH??? I guess I can see that in the sense that he left, was gone for a while, I think it's like 11 episodes he's gone because he leaves during episode 13 and he arrives at North Academy in episode 24. But therin lies the question, is that chronological? Because the duel off between Bastion and Jaden happens before that and that's how they decide Jaden's representing them in the school duel and Sheppard comes to the conclusion they should use a first year student in the spirit of competition because he's been informed that North Academy is using a first year student, WHO IS CHAZZ. And like, we know from episode 24 that Chancellor Foster's plan to use Chazz was totally premeditated, like did he say they were using a first year student before he like fuckin shanghai'd and bogarted Chazz into North Academy or after? In which case, episode 24 would have happened chronologically before the duel off, and time has clearly passed between episode 24 and even just the cold open of episode 25, like the school duel was not the next fucking day after he got to NA like I highly doubt that.

But anyway, yeah, when he got to North Academy he could've spend a couple weeks there before the school duel or something, that would make that feel less insane a time jump aksksk but bro had me fucking shook for a second like how much of that month was him stranded in the middle of the ocean??????????? 😰 Hopefully not very long but my god I will not be able to rest 😭

(And I mean I don't think they ever say where it's at specifically in the anime, at least I know in the dub they don't to my recollection. I couldn't say if they do in the sub or not. hiloy is a trader who had aotg, need and the rest of the songs that leaked in 2023. apparently he played aotg and need during a discord voice call and some of the people listening recorded them with their phones and leaked the snippets, which obv went viral. this prompts hiloy to try to sell the songs to someone, but he doesn't find anyone and in the meantime the snippets go more viral. so hiloy gives up and organises a groupbuy. the songs are aotg and drama queen and the cost is 2300 dollars. in the discord server there's so much drama and server is nuked like 3 times cause people got in just to report it. in the meantime someone else leaks the fw 2012 demo. the quota is reached in 2/3 days and the next day, once the actual money had been converted into bitcoins, he sends the songs. once the songs were posted the group buy realise that they were not HQ files and everybody turns on him. many participants ask hiloy to organise a second groupbuy for need and tiwycf but someone else, probably the same person who leaked fw 2012, leaks those as well. a few weeks later, hiloy leaks the fw tv demo cause he says it's useless to gatekeep now.

on the one hand i don’t know why it matters if a 9 year old orphan is pretty or ugly like i don’t think that it’s the most important aspect of her storyline but then on the other hand the way ppl absolutely lose their minds if you suggest that arya is pretty is so crazy that i have to join the war on the side of pretty!Arya truthers. i see a lot of sansa fans in particular freak the fuck out about this and i have to wonder why? like do you feel that arya’s beauty may be a threat to sansa and somehow vicariously feel threatened by her beauty too? are you trying to gatekeep beauty??? it’s very weird. and i know some fans try to back it up in a feminist way by arguing that it’s bad to hypothesize on the looks of little girls but if they still insist on comparing sansa’s beautiful looks to catelyn’s beautiful looks how is that any different than arya fans comparing her to lyanna ? also the decora girlz line gets the romeo yotd2009 seal of approval if anyone was wondering. cepia has literally Never been on my radar b4 this and this is coming from a toy collector who does tend to lean towards the obscure (funnily enough my doll collection doesn't actually reflect this bc when most of it was acquired i couldn't afford expensive dolls more than once or twice a year (which a lot of the truly obscure dolls are) and i'm also an american girl collector so like. if i was getting an expensive doll i wanted her to be bigger than a barbie and thus i spent my jafra pullip licca and yue-sai wawa money on ag (obv two of those four are not like the others but in western doll-focused spaces i'd def say that licca and pullip are treated as 'oh that's the doll that beat out barbie in japan' or 'those are the ones w the wrists that break' instead of being actively collected and are basically equivalent to mga storytime princesses in terms of relevance despite being huge in their home country. jafra and yue-sai wawa you aren't arguing w me on no one knows them and i've actually been gatekeeping them both for a while bc i don't want to share them when i haven't even sunk my claws into them yet) but anyways my point is i do generally think i know my way around the non-mgattel (+ occasional jaks) lines but i only know abt these from cybr.grl's insta stories bc they used her as a consultant to more accurately represent decora fashion. and so obv i wanted to show up for decora girlz bc jfashion and western fashion dolls don't exactly have the best history but the fact that they're genuinely trying made me want to show up for them. i usually don't go for what i like to describe as mga face but i think the fact that they're meant to lean super into kawaii aesthetics helped me set that aside. my only critiques of them is that i got a 3 pack of the smaller blind box dolls w the rubber clothes as opposed to the taller more traditional fashion dolls w fabric clothes and 2/3 of my dolls had rooting issues although they were fairly minor, also irt to the stickers i get that that's a fun part for the kids but applying them stressed me out sm bc i wasn't sure they wouldn't fall off. i put them on as close as possible to how they were displayed in the promo images and one of my dolls was cat and she didn't just have stickers on her flat bangs, she had stickers in the curly part of her hair too and it just wasn't working out w those bc there was no way too fully connect them w/o having them positioned in an awkward way. also i don't think they thought the stands through irt luna as, while attaching at the neck is a good idea esp considering their proportions, luna has a bag meant to hang from her shoulder and there wasn't rlly enough room for both it and the stand between her shoulders and head. that said my nitpicks are all minor, i hope this line becomes a major success, and i plan on picking up the rest of it.

Micah absolutely makes his own edits of himself too. Everly sees them and thinks they're weak. She makes even better ones that got tons of hits on a secret account.

In retaliation, he records her doing electrical work and just generally existing, and proceeds to make private edits. They laugh over homemade and fanmade edits together, and it gets very romantic and they make out.

There are ABSOLUTELY fanfics about them too. Everly thinks the Micah Tate x Xander Dalton smut is the absolute funniest thing ever. She reads those out loud to them in a sexy voice. She probably perches somewhere high where they can't reach her.

Micah loves it, Xander rolls his eyes, and Grayson blushes in the corner somewhere and pretends he's not hanging on to every word.

totally might be wrong here, but I didn't think that being attracted to personality over looks and not getting why people are so weird about sex are enough by themselves to be asexual? cuz like, that still involves being attracted to people and possibly wanting to have sex, just in a different way that doesn't involve initial impressions as much.

Today I was helping run the booth for the local queer non-profit at the farmer's market and a woman told me that she would like a flag, pointing to our little bucket of flags. So I picked up the bucket and I brought it over and asked her which one she'd like.

"Well, tell me about them!"

"Oh! Okay! This one is the inclusion flag- its for everyone, including allies."

"What's this one?"

"That's the bisexual flag: it represents people who are attracted to two or more genders."

"Hmm... what about this one?"

"That's the nonbinary flag: it represents people whose gender isn't strictly 'male or female.'"

"Hmm... what's this purple one?"

"That's the asexual flag: it represents people who may not feel sexual attraction the way that others do."

She put her hand to her chest and got this really curious look on her face. "Tell me more about that!"

"Oh, happy to! So like if you're out with your bestie and someone real fine walks by and she's like 'omg look at him' and you're like 'girl get a grip?' Or like you just don't get what the 'big deal' is about sex or why everyone is so weird about it? But there's also room for like- you don't fall in love with the way someone looks, you're attracted to the person- their sense of humor and their kindness, or there's something about their personality that just makes it click for you? That's asexuality, too!"

And she got real quiet and seemed to think about it for a minute. So I grabbed our little informational sheet about different queer identities and handed her a copy. "If you want to do some research, this is probably a great place to start."

She thanked me and took an ace flag, stuck it in her hair.

Sometimes when you're online all the time, its easy to think that 'everyone knows about (topic), there's no reason to keep talking about it so much.' But while the people on the internet are real people, the internet ISN'T real life. And there are lots of people who do need to know that they do have community!

One of the jokes is that I'm a lot of people's 'patient zero' for discovering that they're queer. This is why.

imho one reason some ppl will try to dress ‘punk’ but totally miss the mark is they’re too caught up in still trying to look conventionally attractive/palatable. a lotta popular internet fashion/makeup is still pretty entrenched in a heavily-manicured ‘perfect’ look that straight-up isn’t compatible with a style that’s more about rejecting convention and embracing imperfection

Escaflowne Voice Meme Part 1

Encouraged by @fayrinferno, here I am, six years late for @drkstars-art's Escaflowne Voice Meme. I'm a newer fan, though, so you'll have to forgive me. I'd love for anyone else new to this or the fandom to join in!

Introduce yourself! When did you first watch Escaflowne? What brought you into the fold? 

I'm afraid to answer because...gatekeeping, but here goes.

My husband watched it on Fox back in '96. He heard about the kickstarter and bought the Funimation Blu-ray set and forced me to watch it, quite against my will, in July 2020. I didn't start liking it until the episode Van pushes Merle's head down. Even then I didn't pay much attention until the moment Van catches Hitomi near the drag-energist mine, then I died hard and reawakened a new woman. (Wish I were joking. Totally not.)

I'm now familiar with both the original English and the Japanese dubs. I like them all.

Who is your favorite character and why? Was it love at first sight?  Has any of their qualities or quirks swayed you on characters in other series? 

I relate hard to Hitomi. I was a green-eyed, annoyingly energetic, average-looking, and very boy-crazy teenager. I ran in track, dabbled in tarot reading, and crushed on many a tall boy with blue eyes. I even had a crush on the cute, tall track star (more on that later).

So, that said, who's my favorite character?

Van, obviously. There's something I just get about him. Perhaps because I was raised by a very manly, very stoic man. He just resonates with me.

Which side are you on? What do you think happens Post-Hitomi when she leaves? Who do you think will be the next opposing power? 

I'm on Van's side. I hope he keeps Basram in check.

Least favorite plot point? Was there something you think should have changed? What do you think would have made it better. 

Varie. I loved her and her black-green hair and also hated how she totally emotionally ruined Hitomi, blaming her for all the bad things that happened to Van and Gaea. Hitomi's going to need years of therapy to undo the damage she did with one conversation. We want to know what's with that green energist that Van gets?

Also, in spite of the fact that the scene where Van catches Hitomi changed my whole heart, I do not, in fact, fangirl over his wings.

OTP? What kind of art and fiction would you like to see? What are some head canons you have for them? What is you NoTP

Van and Hitomi. All the SFW art and fiction. All the head canons. Every iteration. I love AUs the most. I've read almost all the complete AUs out there.

I'd love to see more Dryden and Millerna stuff. And Gaddess with any other lady in the series. Also, I would totally read Hitomi and Folken.

NoTP? Allen and anyone else. He's so EWWWW.

Anyone with Celena/Dilandau, unless it's an AU. You have to really convince me that they've had a lot of therapy before they're healthy enough to have a relationship.

Merle and Van, obvs.

Lastly, Hitomi and Amano.

Storytime. When I was 15, I was in track, I was in love with the popular track star, and I wanted him to be my first kiss. BUT when we got close enough for that, he had a super greasy face that grossed me out. Also, he rejected a gift I gave him.

What did I try to give him?
