"I... can't accept your gift..."

Amber was stunned when she heard the Third Born, Avatar of Envy say that to her when she held out the gift for him to take.

Both Amber and Levi were in the human realm at her apartment room. Diavolo thought it would be best if she had gone taken a vacation in her realm after she had been thrown into the past and had been stuck there for months on end.

The brothers would visit her from time to time whenever they had the chance to. Amber had told Levi to come visit her in the Human Realm for something important. That being wanting to celebrate his birthday with him here.

She thought he'd be happy to get a gift from her like he always does but he didn't expect him to reject her gift. Instead of being sad, she could sense something was wrong.

"Levi... Is there something wrong?" She asked him as he refused to make eye-contact with her.

This made her more worried as she set the gift aside as she took one of his hand in hers.

"Levi? Please tell me what's wrong. You're always happy to get a gift for me. Why not now?"

Levi remained silent for a moment before sighing.

"It just... doesn't seem fair." Amber heard him say as she tilted her head in confusion.

"What do you mean?" she asked to which Levi gently grasped her hand.

"I just don't find it fair to celebrate my birthday because... we weren't able to celebrate yours since you went missing." He inhaled and exhaled before continuing.

"I even planned ahead on the places i wanted to take you on your birthday and i even had a gift for you yet I couldn't give any of those to you..."

Amber heard him trail off as she slowly removed her hand from his to cup one side of his face to make him face her.

"Hey... It's okay. We can still go to those places anytime. We don't have to wait for my birthday and you can still give me my present when we go back to the Devildom."

Levi listened to her before he looked down and sighed, nodding.

"I know we can. I just..." he let out a shaky breath before slowly pulling Amber into a hug, burying his face on her shoulder.

"I missed you... so so much." He mumbled.

He held her tight as if afraid that he'll lose her if he didn't keep her close. Amber gave him a sad look before hugging him back.

"I missed you too. I'm sorry for disappearing out of nowhere... Just know that I'm not going to leave you anytime soon and besides it's hard to get rid of someone like me so easily so you're stuck with me for a long long time!"

That was enough to Levi to crack a smile as he chuckled, lifting his head away from her shoulder to look at her.

"You really know what to say." to which Amber shrugged.

"You could call it a specialty of mine." She giggled, leaning onto him slightly.

Levi's smile widened even more as he played with her hair while remaining in each other's embrace. After a while he spoke up.

"Can we stay like this for a little longer?" Amber heard him as she nodded.

"Of course! Oh and Levi?"

"Yeah?"

"Happy Birthday. I love you." She told him, hugging him once more.

This was enough to make Levi get rid of all his worries, smiling even more as he hugged her back.

"I love you too and thank you... for everything."

It was fine, well, you can’t be for sure..

It had been weeks after ultramarine nails tear through the warping paper to reveal the smooth white coloured box. His orange hues sparkling in such joy, his legs still slightly sore from jumping up and down so much. Lucifer had managed to cut off his bankings, only agreeing to open it for more reasonable needs. So as fans swarm and drained the sales of the console, Levi could only stare at disarray.

Puffy and teary eyes, nose stuff, leaving small sniffled here and there, left you weak at the knee. The more you stared at it, the more tempted you were to give anything for your little sea monster to stop his whimpers.

“You’re the best!”

“Mm, love you too~”

Or so you thought..

Day after day, it had been nothing but eyes glued to the same pixelated bodies of the platform formulated mmorpg. Not once had he flinched at the subtle touches grazing upon his skin. Your lips ghosting over his ear, warm breaths fanning over the outer shell as you whispered. Nothing.

You were so pissed yet not wanting to cause a scene, decided to just doodle, sketch and write in your notebook. Thoughts one by one coming together, lyrics slowly forming in your head about wanting to kick the shit out of that plastic box that would even make Cerberus cowar. One verse turned into two and a chorus, though the sound of the clinking sword within the screen was nagging at you, ‘causing your sudden departure towards your room for some peace and quiet.

This went on for days, you staying in your room and only coming out for the nessentials, too occupied with your unfinished song. Your missing presence and aura now alerting the gaming Levi. Checking his clock, DDD and displaced watch, knowing you should have came in by now. Yet nothing. With a sigh, he got up and pressed pause for the first time in days before walking out into the halls.

The dread of sleep slowly got to his nerves, eyelids itching to shut the moment he even lays on a flat surface. With his best affords he managed to reach your door, though he was a bit disappointed to see an empty room with nothing but crumpled and balled up paper decorating the floorboards.

Strolling in, amber eyes trying to get accustomed to the dimmer lighting, before a shimmering light of white attracted his attention. Your notebook, opened and on display, letters and number of your handwriting aligned in paragraphs. Reading it gave off rhyme and rhythm, Levi squeaked a little when noticing the similarities of the descriptions and behaviour of the male in the song matching his all too well.

Cogs turned and turned before a bright light bulb shined. The corner of his lips tugging into a frown. He had been neglecting you, he prioritized his leaderboard over you, but to keep the efforts of not causing a riot, you kept to yourself, burying your feelings within you. It must have been eating you alive, bite after bite, slowly getting to your mind, yet you were patient enough to wait for his return.

“Y/N.. ”

He chewed on his lower lip before clocking your pen, reaching for it and writing.

Me or the PS5, you say..?

“Tell me which of us is more your type~” You hummed while entering the confined space of the planetarium. You plopped down on the stone seatings, uncapping your fountain pen but before you could press down, you couldn’t help but stare.

The leftover empty spaces were filled. How?

“ My love, know I'm in for the long ride.. ”

        “ I'm not playing games of the wrong kind ”

That voice..

You snapped back around, those familiar orange hues, vibrant overalls and headphones. No doubt it was your little sea monster coming out the prison you deemed his room.

“ Could be keeping secrets and telling lies ”

        “ But I'm just online, and I can promise you ”

You scooted backwards, the pit of your stomach empty like the void, terrified of the possibilities if he got his hands on you. Anger was all you thought. There was no way he wasn’t. Eyes shutted, waiting for the impact of your back to the brick wall.

“ I'll never play ya, I'll find a way to ”

        “ Show you I'm grateful, so I'm begging you ”

The embrace of your hand clasped between the concrete seat and a palm caused you to open one eye. Nothing but Levi’s hand over yours, his face flushed to the point of no return as he hummed to the tune.

“ Two minutes only, you'll get a trophy ”

        “ I'm staying faithful ”

He turned back, his lips pressed into a smile, eyes swirling with sincerity. Red spread across your features as well, the lingering image of his face still engraved in your mind, leaving you in a giggling mess, corners shimmering in teardrops.

Reader will out of be gender neutral/Female. Writing for male readers have never been my strong suit and I best not make assumptions or lazily write how I think a man acts since I don't know how they do act in fictional situations.

No Oc or Oc insert, with doing oc it would be a long process of knowing every detail of the oc as well as their personality and then trying to insert it into the story. For Me that a bit of a Hassel to do and would take up to much time to do so I prefer to leave this out for now.

I do take sub or Dom readers, both are fine by me as long as you don't request anything to extreme. I will also let you know if the request is something to uncomfortable to write.

You can request up to 3-5characters or 1 dorms per ask. I wish to keep each ask nice an detailed as possible so I would like to only have a small amount to write for that way i can take time on each one without taking to long on it or half-ass writing it.

I will only write in 2nd person. 3rd or 1st person is a no go for me.

Dark topics are okay, I don't mind writing for them as long as you don't not request anything extremely serious or straight uncomfortable for others or myself.

I can and will delete ask that I straight up refuse to do, I have the will to do so especially it is something I don't agree with or not wanted on my blog. So be be aware of what you request.

The Gift

A very belated fluffy gift to my sweet friend Pandi! The cafeteria was loud as always, laughter and shrill shrieks of the lesser demons cutting harshly through the air. The smell of grease hung amidst it all, causing Leviathan to scrunch his nose in disapproval. He stood in the line for what felt like eternity, shifting his weight from one foot to the other, reaching for his DDD frequently, only to be met by a complete lack of notifications. He shoved it back into his pocket, disgruntled but not surprised. After all, why would the normie text him when his brothers offered much better forms of entertainment than he ever could. He was just a lame nerd and aside of Henry nobody would want to be with him willingly.

The dark spiral of his insecurities came to a halt upon overhearing a nearby conversation. Why did they even have to be so loud, geeze... But he heard the human's name and curiosity overthrew any of his initial annoyance, his focus now fully on paying closer attention to the chat as it went on.

“And then she tried to ask if she could pay next time, because she spent all her grimm on some weeby collectible or some shit, haha! What a joke!'

Punctuating his speech by a slap across the ass of the succubus on his arm, the lesser demon laughed as his little story came to an end. The venom in his tone, aimed towards the human, set Levi off more than the any of the words themselves, causing his horns to sprout from his temples without him even realising.

Soon he was looming over the offender, the dangerous glint in his amber eyes leaving no doubt that he was indeed infuriated beyond what could be fixed by simple apologies. His clawed hand grabbed the demon's collar, lifting him into the air with unexpected ease, anger fuelling his actions with strength that surprised not only him, but all the nearby bystanders alike.

Levi was known to mostly keep to himself, but he was a high-ranking demon after all and despite his usual reclusive demeanour and calm visage, he was not to be trifled with. After a short interrogation for more details he tossed the lesser demon aside and strode out, tail swishing behind him in erratic sweeps, unable to calm down until he found out more.

He spent hours searching for the human, but to no avail. She was nowhere to be found and he was certain that he looked everywhere. His legs ached and his chest hurt, worn out by so much unexpected exercise. He wasn't used to being out of his room so much after all and it already took all of his resolve not to just go back in there to chase it all away by gaming or venting out on the forums. Sheer anger was still filling him to the brim, almost as if he wasn't the avatar of envy but of wrath instead.

He felt a faint stabbing sensation and he was almost certain it was fear, illogical as that would be. Why would he be afraid, really? Because something could have happened to her? Why did he even care so much, when surely it was one-sided? Giving up the search at last, he decided to head in, shoulders slumping down in defeat, his demon form finally dissipating as the rage inside him began to subside, replaced by the usual void and self-doubt.

As if he was even good enough to find her if she did not want to be found.

It was all pointless.

He did not bother turning on the lights, leaving the room lit only by Henry's tank, to help mask his shame. Levi headed towards his tub, shedding his coat and hoodie off, ready to submerge himself in the calming water.

He reached for the faucet, just about to turn it on, but decided to check the tub just in case he forgot anything inside, only to freeze immediately.

A tuft of auburn hair peeked from beneath his favourite blanket, the very human he spent all this time searching for wrapped in it, breathing lightly in her restless sleep. Leviathan yelped, clasping his hands over his mouth much too late to prevent the sound from escaping him and she jumped awake, bumping into his chin painfully, almost causing him to raise his voice again.

This time he managed to keep it in, blush tinting his cheeks at her sudden proximity, but trying to appear collected as he steadied her with his hands on each of her shoulders.

“Oh, Levi! You are home!” she exclaimed, still too dazed to realize how inappropriate this all was. She reached out to hug him, only then finally snapping out of it as she leaned away from him, her back against the side of the tub.

“W..what is going on with you? I looked for you everywhere! You didn't even eat lunch and it's so already so late we missed dinner too-”

A loud growl interrupted his chastising speech and he gripped at his stomach in a somewhat comical attempt to stop it from making even more noise.

She giggled, a sound so sweet to him that it made him freeze again, his gaze dropping away from her as shyness overtook his previous attempts at reprimanding her for her foolish actions.

“How did you know?”

“How did I know what?” he retorted, titling his head sideways and stealing a quick glance at her dishevelled form.

“That I did not have lunch. You just said it, but I do not remember telling you about it and it is not like you ever go to the cafeteria yourself. It's much too loud there for you, is it not?”

She wasn’t mocking him. She actually sounded like she cared enough to remember that about him, that he really did not like it there because of all the ruckus. But that was not important now, surely... Or was it? “Well, I went today, because they had the rainbow pizza special, and some idiots there were talking about you not being able to afford the meal-”

Leviathan's pupils widened and he nearly bit his tongue, interrupted by her hand pressed against his lips, making him unable to carry on talking.

She kept it there, reaching over the side of the tub with the other, flustered enough that the tips of her ears were dusted in a light shade of red.

He stared at her in a mix of shock and awe, quiet even after she removed her hand from him, placing it on the top of a neatly wrapped package with a blue ribbon on it, pushing it against his chest hastily.

“Don't say anything else, just open it!” she uttered, gazing at him expectantly while he held the box in his arms, puzzled and taken aback by the intensity of her stare.

He obeyed her request, carefully unwrapping the ribbon and the wrapping paper to reveal the case underneath, fingers shaking slightly as he went.

It was a gilded display package adorned by intricate engravings, beautifully sculpted golden-plated leaves of ivy coiling around the long-sold out extra rare limited edition Ruri-chan figurine that he was after for as long as he could remember, yet never able to get it.

Now it was right there, in his very hands and he had to look twice to make sure he was not just imagining it, his throat tight and heart threatening to jump right out his rib-cage.

He blinked several times, pushing away the tears in the corners of his eyes, unable to speak for a solid few moments, simply staring at the gift in front of him.

“Y..you got this, for me?” he stammered out, his voice coming out so high-pitched he immediately regretted trusting himself to talk while still in shock, a fierce blush burning on his face like fire.

Cupping his cheeks, she gazed at him lovingly and nodded, the sight of it alone making him gasp softly and he was unable to hold his tears back any further.

Setting the box aside carefully, he climbed into the tub, pulling her into a hug, hesitant fingers brushing though her hair as she snuggled up against him, warm and delicate and...

His. Leviathan exhaled, adjusting his position slightly, allowing his digits to brush against her jawline, a touch so fleeting yet so filled with all the repressed emotions he has been harbouring for her for longer than he cared to admit.

“That's the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me, but could you maybe promise me something?” His brows furrowed slightly as he asked, anxiety seeping into his thoughts once more before he even dared to follow up with the actual question.

“I am not one to make promises without even knowing what they're about, Levi. What would you have me do?” she chirped merrily, pleased with his reaction to the gift.

He swallowed, taking a few calming breaths before mustering up the courage to reply, biting into his lower lip a few times for the good measure.

“You'll have your lunch with me from now on, I can't very well have you skipping meals with a good conscience, even if it is for something this cool...” he trailed off, unsure if this would be something she would be willing to say yes to, clinging onto the faint hope that she might.

Crystalline laughter filled the room and she hugged him tighter, sliding her fingers between his as if it was the most natural thing ever.

“Sounds good! It's a date then!”

He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the sweet scent of her shampoo, pleasantly overwhelmed by a powerful wave of happiness, a joy so absolute he could barely believe it. Her last sentence an even better gift than Ruri-chan herself.

It's a date then!
