✨🍕💼🥊🧊🍀🧠💀 for oberon please :3
Another OC to add to the request list! It's time for Nathan’s husband and Lars’s little brother to take the stage!
✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Because it's been haunting me since high school!😭
Long story short, we read “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in English class, and I liked the name Oberon but didn’t consider using it for an OC. When designing Nathan’s husband, I jokingly thought about using Oberon because of the “Oberon and the Indian boy” thing in the story. (I know, bad joke.) And while I tried using other names, I kept coming back to Oberon! Didn’t help that I was always seeing references to the play too… Seriously, there’s even one in MotP! So, since I couldn't escape it, I decided to use it!
If you can’t beat them, join them!
🍕 - What is their favourite food?
Burgers. Oberon loves a good burger and enjoys trying new combinations of meats, toppings, and sauces. He also loves hosting family barbeques, where he’ll fry up as many burgers and other foods as his friends and family can enjoy.
💼 - What do they do for a living?
Now that the Bureau has been disbanded, Oberon is between jobs. He still works for U.N.I.T. but doesn't have a civilian job jet. He will be moving to Grimsborough with Nathan so their son can finish school before they move to Australia, as they always planned. Oberon is considering a few career ideas, but he hasn’t decided on one yet.
(AKA, I haven't decided on one yet!😅)
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Love: Performing. Oberon has always had a flair for performing and loves being on stage. He’s the drummer in Lars’s band, and along with that, he also enjoys performing in plays and doing magic acts. Some people claim it's because he’s named after a theatre character, but whatever the reason, Oberon loves taking the spotlight (but he will always share it with others).
Hate: Buying new clothes. While Oberon is very fashionable and loves dressing up, he hates shopping for new clothes because it means he needs to find ones that won’t irritate his scarred skin. He has learned which fabrics will and will not irritate his skin, but that does not always guarantee he’ll be comfortable wearing them. The fit of the clothes and how the fabric has been treated play a role in his comfort, so a clothes shopping trip is always a daunting task and challenging experience.
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
Pretty much. Some things changed slightly, like his hairstyle and the burn scars, but Oberon is mostly the same as what I initially planned for him to look like!
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
That I gave Nathan a kid before I gave him a husband!😅
Avi’s origins are actually older than my series. I created him for an unrelated crack fic I wrote before starting my series. In it, he had a different father, so when I decided to bring Avi back and make him canon in my series, I realized I needed to give him a new second father. So, Oberon Douglas was created as I always loved Lars’s character and wanted an excuse to give him more love!
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
It's a tie between his personality and design. I love that Oberon has similarities to Lars to showcase their connection but differences to set him apart from his brother. I also love writing him and Nathan together because their somewhat opposite personalities work well together. As for his design, while I’m terrible at drawing burn scars, I still love the avatar I created for his profile. The scars show that he went through so much in his past but didn’t let it stop him from building a future.
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
Claustrophobia - fear of small or tight spaces.
After being trapped under a support beam in a burning house, Oberon developed a fear of being trapped in small spaces. The fire part somewhat scares him, but being trapped and unable to get out of anywhere is what scares him more. He prefers wide, open spaces to small, confined ones any day!
Ta-da! Oberon’s answers are done!
I hope you enjoyed them and thank you for the ask!

What about HCs for Natheron and Avi? Snake-man, younger Explosion-man and their adorable son! If it's too many at once, that's OK.
Don’t worry; three isn’t too much in this scenario! And you know I love Nathan enough to give him two sets of weird headcanons!🥰
These answers are for my version of Nathan, as seen in my Criminal Case series! Now, let’s read about our snakey-boi and his family!🐍
Nathan
How’s their cooking: Nathan’s a good cook. I just hope you like spicy food! (He can make non-spicy food, he just enjoys watching Jones suffer through the heat)
It’s movie night; what movie do they pick: Horror. But if it's with his family, action or a kid’s move (if Avi is with him)
How would they hold up in a pillow war: Nathan is the last man standing in a pillow war. Avi is the only one who can defeat him (mainly because he lets his son win but don’t tell Avi that!)
Who do they go to for comfort: In order, Oberon, his Dad, his grandfather, and Jones
Something small that they enjoy: When his husband has a cup of coffee or chai ready for him in the morning
How do they feel about physical contact by others: If it's his family or friends, he doesn’t mind physical contact but still prefers to have it in moderation. If its a stranger, the best he’ll give them is a handshake or a high-five
Biggest pet peeve: People who think they know it all and act like they’re superior
What’s something they like that may be surprising to others: Drawing and painting. Most people assume he doesn’t have many hobbies besides gardening, but Nathan loves bringing his ideas to life on a canvas. He made all the artwork around his house, and he has gifted artwork to family and friends
Any bad habits that they have: Talking too much about death. Nathan has creeped out way too many people by rambling about his fascination with death and the ways people can die
Do they like being in pictures: Nathan’s camera shy, but his family and friends always drag him into the frame, so plenty of pictures of him exist
Is there anything they’re bad at: Socializing. Nathan didn’t have many friends growing up and preferred to keep to himself. He’s introverted and is nervous when meeting new people, so he usually leaves the socializing to his extroverted husband
Something that disgusts them: When someone coughs or sneezes and doesn't cover their mouth
That’s our snake-boi done; now let’s move on to his explosive, magic-loving rockstar husband, Oberon Douglas!
Oberon
What they smell like: Shea butter and oatmeal due to the moisturizer he uses for his burn scars. Also can smell like smoke if he’s recently been around an explosion
How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc.): Unlike his husband, Oberon likes going to bed early and is a morning person. He sleeps on his stomach and sometimes his side because of the scars on his back and loves cuddling Nathan
What music they enjoy: Death metal, rock & roll, and Jazz
How much time they spend getting ready every morning: Thirty minutes because he has to apply his scar treatment cream and moisturizer every morning
Their favourite thing to collect: Lighters
Left or right-handed: Taught himself to be ambidextrous after sustaining burns to his right hand
Religion (if any): Agnostic
Favourite sport: Football (soccer) and archery
Favourite touristy thing to do when travelling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc.): Learning about a place’s culture and getting to experience it in-person
Favourite kind of weather: Autumn, specifically October, because it is, and I quote, “spooky season”
A weird/obscure fear they have: Not a weird fear, but Oberon is afraid he won’t be able to protect the people he loves. He nearly lost his husband and son and, ever since, fears the day he won’t be able to keep them or the rest of his family and friends safe anymore
The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: Shooting games. This man has accuracy!
And lastly, Natheron’s baby snake Avi!
Avi
What they smell like: Vanilla and chai because his soap is vanilla scented, and Nathan’s second favourite drink is chai, so there’s a pot of it being brewed at some point during the day
How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc.): Avi goes to bed early and isn’t a morning person like his father, Nathan. Avi curls up into a tight ball under his sheets and always has at least one stuffie with him to help keep away his nightmares and like listening to soft music to put him to sleep
What music they enjoy: Children’s music and anything his fathers play or sing, especially if it's Oberon
How much time they spend getting ready every morning: About 15 minutes with the help of one of his dads. If they let him do it alone, it would take 20-30 minutes
Their favourite thing to collect: Snow globes. Avi loves shaking them and watching the snowfall. He has them in many designs and themes, and his favourite ones are snow globes that also play music
Left or right-handed: Left
Religion (if any): Avi doesn’t follow any religions. His parents are waiting to let him decide when he's older if he would like to join a religion or not
Favourite sport: Football (soccer) and American football. He likes playing the first with his Dad Oberon and the second with his Uncle David Jones
Favourite touristy thing to do when travelling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc.): Collecting souvenirs/postcards and taking pictures
Favourite kind of weather: Rain. Avi loves wearing his raincoat, boots and carrying an umbrella. His favourite part about when it rains is jumping into puddles
A weird/obscure fear they have: Like Oberon, not a weird fear, but Avi is scared to lose his family and friends, especially his dads. He already went five years thinking Oberon was dead, and while he was happy when he came back, Avi is afraid to lose him again or to lose his other dad…
The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: Racing arcade games like Mario Kart
And thus concludes my weird headcanons for the Pandit-Douglas family!

i wanna ramble a little about my picks, so
the clock - i first watched this last december, ans i was completely in love. besides watching the wizard of oz as a kid (and i barely remember it), i wasn't familiar with judy garland's works, so i decided to watch the clock and i was completely in love, not only with her but also with robert walker and this film in general. it's such a great little gem, so earnest and so full of life, it immediately became one of my favorites. i just adore it
rebecca - one of the first classic movies i've watched (i think it was either the third or the fourth?) and it introduced me to laurence olivier, hitchcock, joan fontaine and gothic melodramas, all of which i adore. i feel so strongly about this movie, i can barely put it into words
this gun for hire - i had to include a veronica lake movie, and it had to be this gun for hire. i love noirs, and this one is such a perfect example, so well done, so distinct and so full of yearning, it just stuck to me
wuthering heights - the one movie that really got me obsessed with old hollywood movies!! i loved this so much i felt absolutely sick. merle oberon gave such a brilliant performance, im still mad that she didn't get an oscar nomination for this
the secret garden - i decided i wanted to watch more old hollywood movies starring teen/children actors this year, because i ended up really liking the ones i had already watched, and this one is easily my favorite. it's so beautiful, so well written, and it deals with grief and escapism in such a perfect little way. margaret o'brien was so amazing in this, and she was only 12!
hold back the dawn - one of my all time favorites. it stars three of my favorite people: paulette goddard, olivia de havilland and charles boyer. i am absolutely obsessed with him now, and this movie definitely contributed to it, but it was really olivia that made me fall in love with it. she breathed life into her role, and i rarely see anything quite like it. and the romance between her and charles boyer's character? outstanding. i rewatch their honeymoon scenes all the time. everytime i watch this movie i fall more in love with these three
hangover square - another favorite noir of mine! i watched this for linda darnell, but really, it's laird cregar's movie. linda is one my favourites, and she knew how to play a femme fatale like nobody else, but laird cregar gave one of the best male perfomances of the 40s in this (probably only behind jimmy stewart in it's a wonderful life for me). it blew my fucking mind. the last 30 minutes or so of this are out of this world. laird dying so soon after this was completed is a big tragedy to me, i would have loved to see more of his perfomances
ninotchka - i haven't rewatched this in a while so i cant tell for sure, but i remember ninotchka so fondly, it's almost becoming my favorite screwball comedy (and i absolutely love screwballs, probably my favorite genre). it's hilarious, but it goes above and beyond that. it's lubitsch, garbo and melvyn douglas at their very best. i just adore it
princess o'rourke - another screwball! this one is a little gem, one that i was very surprised to love this much. olivia and bob cummings are so charming in this, i dont really have that much to say about it. it's just very cute, very funny, very romantic and a joy. it has its flaws, but it's just so enjoyable that it's hard to care
history is made at night - my all time favorite. favorite actor, favorite actress and borzage, who is quickly becoming my favorite director, together. absolutely masterpiece. this movie has a crazy plot, but everything works so well together that it's hard to care. it's such a magical movie, that ties romance, comedy, murder and even a big tragedy in such a seamless way. charles boyer and jean arthur have amazing chemistry, it absolutely kills me that they never made more movies together. i could talk about this movie forever, but people really should just watch it, because it's impossible to explain it till you see it with your own eyes.
i was tagged by @norashelley (thank you!!) to share 10 movies that i love. not necessarily my top 10, but just some movies that have been on my mind lately
tagging: @dreaminginsteadofsleeping42 @wickeddarlings @femmehepbvrn @mariongayvies @gretagarbos @pepperonys @myrnaloysnose @carygrantsbeard @vampyrgender @downton-not-downtown-smh

No que Pensam as Mulheres
EUA, 1941
Ernst Lubitsch
7/10
Pausa Ligeira
Light Break
That Uncertain Feeling is a romantic and ironic comedy in the good style of the time and of Ernst Lubitsch. It features a regular actor of the genre, Melvyn Douglas, and a beautiful Indo-British actress, Merle Oberon, usually more associated with historical and dramatic roles, but who fits the role perfectly, with her exotic charm.
It's not Lubitsch's best work, not by a long shot, but it's also, therefore, a fun and ironic film, that's well worth seeing, especially for fans of the genre.
It was a light pause between two of Lubitsch's masterpieces, The shop around the corner, from 1940, which preceded it, and To be or not to be, from 1942, which followed it.
