Death is a mercy. Apple lives INCREDIBLY long instead, suffering for every second Maple can drag it out. Breathing problems, blindness, deafness, arthritis- anything Apple could possibly have, any injury, he has it. And can't die. Family and kin die around him, anyone he gets near either leaves him, gets hurts, or dies. Starclan eventually has to kill Apple just to get him away from Maple.

This is a reference post for me primarily, but TL;DR, when beginning the development of Star Haunt, it began as a post-story continuation/AU to a story known as The Chill In OleanderClan (a story I initially began in 2020 when I was 15) where a small band of the surviving clan cats explored into where the Twolegs lived as they'd lived isolated on an island and the clan cats ended up meeting some kittypets

Then I got the idea of these kittypets surviving without their owners after some sort of natural disaster and being left behind, now living as wildcats in an abandonned city while I was out on vacation. Then I started playing ClanGen since it'd just released and made PatchClan/then known as PlantClan. Then I started to develop a mini-story of a cat named Peachleaf, a cat who was the only one who could tell the leader of a clan was actually a ghost and she helped bring the leader-ghost peace to help her find her way to StarClan. I got all of these ideas around the same time mid-to-late-2022 so I then just decided to combine all of them together and eventually got to where we are now... with even more changes on the way to make it fairly unrecognizable from all of the 3 things it had been inspired from

But especially early on in "development", I felt I took a lot of inspiration from TCIO particularly... a lot of these similarities were scrapped later on in "development" though. But since I never plan on going back to TCIO, I've been wanting to reuse some of the old characters I still liked from it. So I decided to list out every single TCIO character and list if they inspired or have a (mostly accidental) parallel to a current Star Haunt character (similar story, personality, or role) and also highlight which characters I'm bringing over either as an ancestor cat or just a regular clancat as of today

Today I visited Britain's last remaining Oak bark tannery at Colyton, Devon. I've been commissioned to make a set of ladderback bar chairs with leather seats. The clients were keen to visit with me and select the hides and we got a full tour of all the processes, which was utterly fascinating. What are the cultural differences between the Orders? Sorry if you have anwser this before

I need to make a good in depth lore post some day but in simple terms I think politically/ personality wise the orders are like so:

Wind: Small, tight nit, least battle oriented, specialize in speed and evasion, most pro outsider, they often let outsiders join due to their small numbers and gene pool. This Order finds allyship very important as they believe that a good relationship with the other Orders is a great asset to have (this kinda gets fucked up by Onewhisker though).

River: one of the largest, well fed, known for being the most well groomed with beautiful silky pelts, they take great pride in this, most appearance/beauty obsessed, seemingly neutral on outsiders, but they absolutely despise inter Order relationships and kits. They have a long going feud with Thunder and they DO NOT get along well.

Thunder: Bravery and brute force are their way of life, the majority of Thunder cats are huge and buff, they take great pride in strength of mind and body. Pretty neutral about outsiders, but they have a deep seated bias against kittypets and River Order, kittypets because of the effects Star Oakbark had on the Order's opinions and River becasue of their long going feud.

Shadow: I like the idea of them being nearly nocturnal, choosing to do most work during the later parts of the day and into the night. They are by far the most battle oriented, they take pride in battle scars and often even name themselves after them. they are the most isolated Order, choosing to keep to themselves and they can very hateful towards outsiders and the other Orders due to their isolation

Blood: The most "woke" they love outsiders and will take in any cat in need. To them a powerful and scary exterior is very important, they refuse to be looked down upon or thought of as weak. They take pride in their accomplishments and adorn themselves in trophies from their hunts and battles. They are very tight nit, similar to WInd, and while they seem scary they are actually one of the kindest Orders.
