O Flora, of the Moon, of the dream. O little ones, O fleeting will of the ancients... Let the hunter be safe, let them find comfort. And let this dream, their captor... foretell a pleasant awakening... Be one day a fond distant memory.
The Moon Presence descending is still one of my all time favourite scenes in a game, its hauntingly beautiful and chilling. After all that time you're faced with the architect of your undying night and unless you take a very specific set of steps, it embraces you as its new surrogate child, tying you forever to the dream.
I also find its appearance enthralling, its weird elongated body and exposed ribs, the tendrils of its tail like the roots of a plant and a writhing mass of tentacles on a face like the hollow of a tree

So.... End of Critical Role Campaign 3 Recap
Sorry, this is gonna be a little long!
All of the gods are going to be reborn as mortals. Cleric spells, etc. still work.
The gods' champions (including Vax and Opal!!!) are returned to Exandria to resume some of their "normal" lives, while also encouraged to seek out the gods' mortal forms and to maintain their temples. Opal is still stuck in the crown though.
Predathos is going to starve to death out in space, or will seek out another world's gods to devour. *shrug*
Deanna has made peace with Pelor before his rebirth.
FRIDA is a were-robot and will be under Chetney's tutelage. In addition, they're going to visit Aeor and will try to find FCG's coin.
Opal is reunited with the Crown Keepers
Fearne is still bound to her demon "friend"
Vox Machnia want to visit Ruidus (omg?!)
There are plans to open up travel and trade to and from Ruidus
Orym healed Planerider Ryn's arm with Seedling.
Laudna wants to grow old with Imogen, but does not want to be immortal. Lieve'tel used Divine Intervention to make this so. (And now Laudna and Imogen are married!) They're eventually going to get their cabin in the woods, with a stable for Flora and a mule (or maybe a donkey?) for Laudna.
Imogen's mom is okay. She's going to try to reconnect with Imogen's father and begin her path of apology and redemption.
To quote Liam O'Brian: "Lieve'tel will find Cerkonos and rock his world!"
Braius has turned his back on Asmodeus, but Asmodeus is not done yet with Braius. Braius is counting of the rest of Bell's Hells to have his back should the Lord of Hells come for him. He's going to focus on his art, and lets Jester convert him into following the Traveler. (If nothing else, it's good to have more allies.) Jester encourages Braius to stay and work at the Lavish Chateau.
Ashton wants to walk the world and discover new stuff and make new friends, after they figure out his new brain situation. Fearne is eventually going to go with him. He is also invited to visit the Kryn Dynasty, and is on their radar. They take jobs as muscle on archeological digs, finding interesting things for Essek and their other friends.
Fearne also wants to spend some time in the Faywild, getting to know her parents and learn Fatestitching from Nanna Morri. (Gods help us all...) She also still REALLY wants Chetney's eggs, in particular the one owned by Caleb. She's also going to try to find a way to release Opal from her crown.
Prism is now a student at the Conservatory in Jrusar
Dorian reconnected with his mother. Dorian and Orym are going to spend the rest of their lives together, but they're going to take things day-by-day. Dorian keeps in touch with the rest of the Hells and the Crown Keepers and goes on adventures with them.
Dariax and Deni$e are both in Zephrah, and have made up.
With Keyleth's blessing, Orym is taking a little step back from being the Savior Blade.
Nanna Morri has lifted her deal with Orym due to her reach not extending to what happened on the moon.
The Crown Keepers have officially finished their mission to talk to Keyleth! Hooray!
Chetney, in addition to advising FRIDA, now has a whole new generation learning the ways of "Poc-O-Pea" woodcraft.
Ira Wendagoth and Nanna Morri have also rekindled their relationship. Ira reminded Fearne that her father's allies are going to hunt her down for slaughtering him. Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Imogen visits each of her friends in their dreams.

Hunter's Dream – Three third cords

the flora/fauna thing is especially vexing once you clue into it. corpses bloom with molds and flowers when they die in the chalice dungeons or the nightmare (which are probably the same place). humans transform into beasts when they drink too much blood (subtle). the unused "great one beast" intended to be used in loran is called "silverbeast", with the loran silverbeasts being "kin of the silverbeast". the earliest incarnation of the great one beast was in the bloodborne alpha, where it was known as "fauna the silverbeast". the doll has a very, very small chance of saying a little prayer that refers to something NAMED flora (and not just "flora" the concept):
"O Flora, of the moon, of the dream. O little ones, O fleeting will of the ancients..."
unlike "fauna", flora does not appear anywhere else. most people assume its the name of the moon presence. or one of its names? it has a lot of names for something unnamed. anyway, there are gods of flora and fauna, maybe.

"Ode to a Nightingale" by John Keats (read by Michael Sheen)
My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains         My sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk, Or emptied some dull opiate to the drains         One minute past, and Lethe-wards had sunk: 'Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,         But being too happy in thine happiness,—                That thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees                        In some melodious plot         Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,                Singest of summer in full-throated ease.
O, for a draught of vintage! that hath been         Cool'd a long age in the deep-delved earth, Tasting of Flora and the country green,         Dance, and Provençal song, and sunburnt mirth! O for a beaker full of the warm South,         Full of the true, the blushful Hippocrene,                With beaded bubbles winking at the brim,                        And purple-stained mouth;         That I might drink, and leave the world unseen,                And with thee fade away into the forest dim:
Fade far away, dissolve, and quite forget         What thou among the leaves hast never known, The weariness, the fever, and the fret         Here, where men sit and hear each other groan; Where palsy shakes a few, sad, last gray hairs,         Where youth grows pale, and spectre-thin, and dies;                Where but to think is to be full of sorrow                        And leaden-eyed despairs,         Where Beauty cannot keep her lustrous eyes,                Or new Love pine at them beyond to-morrow.
Away! away! for I will fly to thee,         Not charioted by Bacchus and his pards, But on the viewless wings of Poesy,         Though the dull brain perplexes and retards: Already with thee! tender is the night,         And haply the Queen-Moon is on her throne,                Cluster'd around by all her starry Fays;                        But here there is no light,         Save what from heaven is with the breezes blown                Through verdurous glooms and winding mossy ways.
I cannot see what flowers are at my feet,         Nor what soft incense hangs upon the boughs, But, in embalmed darkness, guess each sweet         Wherewith the seasonable month endows The grass, the thicket, and the fruit-tree wild;         White hawthorn, and the pastoral eglantine;                Fast fading violets cover'd up in leaves;                        And mid-May's eldest child,         The coming musk-rose, full of dewy wine,                The murmurous haunt of flies on summer eves.
Darkling I listen; and, for many a time         I have been half in love with easeful Death, Call'd him soft names in many a mused rhyme,         To take into the air my quiet breath;                Now more than ever seems it rich to die,         To cease upon the midnight with no pain,                While thou art pouring forth thy soul abroad                        In such an ecstasy!         Still wouldst thou sing, and I have ears in vain—                   To thy high requiem become a sod.
Thou wast not born for death, immortal Bird!         No hungry generations tread thee down; The voice I hear this passing night was heard         In ancient days by emperor and clown: Perhaps the self-same song that found a path         Through the sad heart of Ruth, when, sick for home,                She stood in tears amid the alien corn;                        The same that oft-times hath         Charm'd magic casements, opening on the foam                Of perilous seas, in faery lands forlorn.
Forlorn! the very word is like a bell         To toll me back from thee to my sole self! Adieu! the fancy cannot cheat so well         As she is fam'd to do, deceiving elf. Adieu! adieu! thy plaintive anthem fades         Past the near meadows, over the still stream,                Up the hill-side; and now 'tis buried deep                        In the next valley-glades:         Was it a vision, or a waking dream?                Fled is that music:—Do I wake or sleep?
