Differences in localization and the original pt. 1

I am starting a series of posts with the goal of familiarizing players with some of the differences that localization creates for us in contrast to the original.

Some moments are radically different, misleading and causing controversy, while some do not change the essence of what is happening, but are still noticeably different

Disclaimer: these posts will be written solely for the purpose of familiarization; I do not force anyone to play the game in Japanese, because you are free to choose the version of the game that is comfortable for you. I just noticed some moments and want to share them with you.

The localization of Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) is essentially good, but there are some moments, IMHO, that I personally would not adapt or change in any way

One of the most serious changes, which, in my opinion, should not have been touched at all, is Mitsurugi's (Edgeworth) phobias.

As if case 1-4 never happened.

In the Japanese version, when examining the files in Mitsurugi's office, Naruhodō will be perplexed about the need for such high shelves - they could collapse during an earthquake.

････おかしいな。アイツ、 地震がニガテなはずだから……

Okashī na. Aitsu, jishin ga nigatena hazudakara……

...That's strange. He's supposed to be bad with earthquakes...

でもさ。地震が起こったら、 部屋中にファイルの雨が降るね。

demo sa. Jishin ga okottara, heya-chū ni fairu no amegafuru ne.

But if an earthquake happens, files will rain down all over the room.

In the localization (for some reason) at this point Mitsurugi was given a fear of heights. For what reason... I don't understand

Next, another big difference is Naruhodo's food preferences

In the Japanese version, Tomi the clown offers him miso ramen (which is cooked in chicken broth and miso), which Naruhodo refuses and says that he prefers tonkotsu ramen (cooked in pork broth and boiled pork is added to it).

In the Japanese version, reading the menu of the vending machine, Naruhodo annoyedly comments that "there is not even oolong tea". He literally names the tea he likes!

In the localization, he is disappointed that the food in the vending machine is too... ordinary, and he was expecting something that is not usually sold there (popcorn).

Naruhodō University

Case 3-1 is very rich in information about the young Naruhodō, including the name of the university he attended

In the Japanese version, it is Yumei University (the same university where his ancestor Ryunosuke Naruhodō studied during the Meiji era - then it was called Yumei Imperial University), which creates an important reference to Dai Gyakuten Saiban (The Great Ace Attorney)

And the last one for today, a conversation with Mask in the detention center

When Yusaku (Ron) tells the story of the allegedly lost vase, Naruhodō makes a comment about the absurdity of his story

(... I guess the story is a bit vague...)

The localization decided to make a reference to Naruhodō's education in the field of art, and he compares Mask's story to the surreal paintings of Dali.

A nice addition, but still different from the original version.

In total, in my opinion, 3 unsuccessful changes out of 5.

Drogi Pamiętniczku.

Zaspałam do pracy, bo nie mogłam zasnąć. Niestety. Obudziłam się napalona, co jest miłą odmianą - dawno nie byłam przez ten stres. Problem taki, że plecy mnie kuuuuurewsko bolą.

Plan na dziś:

1 zrobić pracę zaliczeniową nr 1 - edycja nagranego dźwięku i doklejenie jako-takiego wideo. Montaż. Przed weekendowym zjazdem wysłanie do oceny

2 zrobić pracę zaliczeniową nr 2 - tak naprawdę to zaliczenie nr 3, i jest z dupy, bo dowiedziałam się o nim na poprzednim zjeździe i mam na nie, aż 2 tygodnie i jest upierdliwe, pewnie czasochłonne, i pewnie nieprzydatne są te umiejętności. ALE wolę robić to, niż trudniejsze zadanie, które faktycznie muszę wysłać do oceny przed 7.07.2024 xD

3 zrobić pracę zaliczeniową nr 3 - zaliczenie trudno-łatwe, tj. zrobienie prac w programie, którego nie ogarniam, a więc nauka programu od podstaw. Niby na łatwych przykładach, niby proste to-to, ale szlag mnie trafia, gdy myślę o tym, że ile zajmie mi ogarnięcie poruszania się w tym środowisku podczas, gdy w innym programie (który znam i w którym pracuję) ogarnięcie tego zadania zajęłoby mi może 1 popołudnie. Grrrr... A muszę to-to oddać jak najprędzej.

4 odkleić ceny od książek, które kupiłam dla mojej mamuni. <3 Kupiłam jej wczoraj całą serię Chmielarza (tj. 2 tomy, bo pierwszy już dostała ode mnie miesiąc temu) i jakąś książkę z pogranicza kryminału-horroru-dreszczowca. W piątek dostanie ode nas te książki w podziękowaniu za opieką nad pieskiem przez cały semestr (ostatni zjazd mamy, oficjalnie).

5 wypełnić wniosek o stypendium i jeszcze dopytać Panów z infolinii o kilka aspektów. Na przykład czy mam podawać właściwy koszt, czy koszt po odjęciu VAT.

6 zastanowić się czy ja w ogóle chcę wysyłać ten wniosek w tym momencie? Czy ja w ogóle chcę sobie samej to robić? Bo to oznacza kolejny semestr zapierdolu zdwojonych obrotach. A już teraz jestem koszmarnie zmęczona. Z drugiej strony - w ten sposób mam szansę na zdobycie wykształcenia/kompetencji i skorzystania ze wsparcia, na które w ramach różnych innych stypendiów nie mam szans po prostu (ze względu na wiek, na staż studiów, na dochód ect). I to wykształcenia w realnej perspektywie - do 6 mc mam dyplom i zawód, nie muszę czekać kolejnych 2 lat na ukończenie studiów, dostanę na tym etapie już papier potwierdzający kwalifikacje...

7 zastanowić się, gdzie zabierzemy jutro mojego przyjaciela z okazji jego urodzin. Cieszę się, że się spotkamy, ale nie mam czasu tego planować.

8 znaleźć jakąś smaczna alternatywę do przywiezienia mojej siostrze i szwagrowi na urodziny.

9 nie wiem czy to pisałam... Albo jak dawno to pisałam? Ale miałam tyle obaw rok temu związanych z moją siostrą, jej ciążą, porodem i przyjściem na świat mojego siostrzeńca. I nad tym, jak moja decyzja o bezdzietności rzutuje na moją siostrę (to jest pole w którym nie dam jej swojego wsparcia popartego doświadczeniem). I nad tym jakie będę miała relacje z tym młodym człowiekiem, czy w ogóle przełamię się by przebywać z takim dzidziusiem (bo boję się przebywać z dziećmi)? I czy on mnie polubi? Czy znajdę sposób by nie bać się bliskości z dzieckiem osoby, która jest moją najbliższą rodziną? I czy w ogóle będzie chciał ze mną się spotykać? I jak zmieni się dynamika rodziny. I tak dalej. Ale dziś, po prawie roku od powiększenia się naszej rodziny o nowego człowieka z takim... chyba zaskoczeniem (?), mogę sobie samej z przeszłości i każdej osobie, która być może będzie się bujać z takimi lękami i wątpliwościami jak moje sprzed roku: znajdziesz sposób.

Kocham tego małego bączka - tak naturalnie po prostu powiększyło mi się miejsce w serduszku na tego małego człowieka. Nie boje się go. Wciąż mnie zachwyca - ILE RAZY GO WIDZĘ - jak bardzo SWÓJ on jest. Chce mi się śmiać i płakać ze wzruszenia, jak widzę jego buźkę. Coś niesamowitego! Jak wehikuł czasu po prostu! I mam wrażenie, że to jest coś mojego, bo do tych uczuć nie mogę zabrać nikogo. Rzecz w tym, że synek mojej siostry ma dolną część twarzy po niej, a górną po Szwagrze - kolorystyka na ten moment to jasny blond i niebieskie oczka (czyli jak u mojej siostry, ale gdy mój Szwagier był młodziutki też miał blond włosy - oczy ma ciemne) Patrzę na tego maluszka i nie mogę tego nie widzieć, co za układanka! Co z puzzle z genów! :D Zabawne jest w tym głównie to, że moja siostra tego nie pojmuje, a rodzina ze strony Szwagra nie widzi w ogóle w małym podobieństwa do jego mamy (do naszego taty, a dziadka chłopca - owszem). Kształt oczu chłopca i łuków brwiowych ma po Szwagrze - to jest ewidentne, to nie jest dyskutowane nawet :D, wszystkie strony rodziną są w tej kwestii zgodne. Ale tu mam swój przywilej: ja przecież od 1,5 roku swojego życia budziłam się obok mojej siostry, widziałam jej buzię, jej uśmiech, widziałam jak dorastała i dojrzewała. I faktycznie: teraz jej uśmiech jest inny, szczęka jest inna, oczy są inne. Ale gdy była malutka to jej uśmiech, to wykrzywienie usteczek do płaczu, jej drąca się mordka i pysie rozjaśniające całą buzię były kropka-w-kropkę jak teraz wygląda jej synek. Po prostu idę razy widzę jak on się porusza, tj. no jak jest dzieckiem i robi rzeczy odpowiednie dla malutkiego dzidziusia to mam TAKI MINDFUCK bo widzę na żywo coś, czego nie widziałam od lat, a co rozpoznaję wyraźnie i jednoznacznie, coś co myślałam, że mogę zobaczyć tylko na zdjęciach i starych filmach. A tu szok: uśmiech mojej malutkiej siostrzyczki żyje w 2024 roku!

Niesamowite! I w ogóle ten malec jest niesamowity. Bawi mnie, że nie lubi dotykać trawi (rączkami czy nóżkami), ale uwielbia dotykać korę i liście drzew. Jest zafascynowany światem. I jest tak uroczy, że SZOK!

Nie budzi się we mnie instynkt macierzyński - nie, nic z tych rzeczy. Jak na niego patrzę lub jak patrzę na moją siostrę to nie ma we mnie ukłucia tęsknoty (jakie miałam latami min. patrząc na ludzi będących w związkach, kochających się) - jest radość, że młody istnieje i że widzę moją siostrę TAK BARDZO spełniona i szczęśliwą. <3 Serce rośnie.

I się nie boję, że młody nie będzie mnie lubił - KURDE, JASNE, ŻE BĘDZIE MNIE UWIELBIAŁ! Będę go zabierać na łódkę, na wyprawy w góry, na SUPa, do teatru. Będziemy się lubić. A jak nie będzie chciał - to się dogadamy, najwyżej dam mu przestrzeń, kocham go i chcę, aby był szczęśliwy.

Chcę zacząć w końcu sensownie zarabiać by w przyszłości nie być obciążeniem, ani dla mojego narzeczonego, ani dla mojego cudownego siostrzeńca.

Another old art from 2021.

In 2021, I had such an idea as OctoScouts.

As we all know, Barney was a scout, and I thought it would be cool if he started his own Scout movement. Honestly, I still think it's a good idea, if you want it could be my new AU.

Takara Tomy Arts iniciará a "Terceira Fase" de Himitsu no AiPri no dia 1º de agosto!

No dia 18 de julho, a Takara Tomy Arts, anunciou que a "3ª Fase" do arcade de Himitsu no AiPri começará em 1º de agosto. Nesta nova fase, o coord do time entre Himari, Mitsuki e Tsumugi será introduzido, os jogadores poderão desfrutar de lives com três pessoas.

Na "3ª Fase", acompanhando a história do anime onde Himari, Mitsuki e Tsumugi formam um trio, serão lançadas as cartas do coord "Secret Friends ∞ Buzzlume", possibilitando shows ao vivo com as três personagens.

A live com três pessoas pode ser jogada escaneando a primeira carta correspondente, semelhante ao recurso "Duo Live" na 2ª Fase. A música "We're The World", interpretada pelo trio Himari/Mitsuki/Tsumugi estará disponível para ser tocada no jogo. Os 2º e 3º jogadores também podem escanear cartas de seus personagens favoritos.

Existem várias cartas compatíveis com as lives de três pessoas , mas a carta "Secret Friends ∞ Bazzlume" é notável por permitir que os jogadores aproveitem o "Bazzlume Live" com as personagens em seus trajes originais.

■ Na "3ª Fase" novas Cartas AiPri das membras do conselho estudantil, Airi Mitsuba e Rinrin Shinomiya, serão introduzidas.

As cartas de raridade ★4 das duas personagens vestindo o "Bazzlume Coord", serão incluídas, e os jogadores poderão se apresentarem com a música da dupla "AISMIRIN" intitulada "Never Give Up Lover".

■ Introdução de "Cartas de Feliz Aniversário"!

Uma nova linha de "Cartas de Feliz Aniversário" estará disponível na "3ª Fase" de AiPri. Essas cartas apresentam as personagens vestidas com roupas exclusivas para o aniversário delas, que ocorre durante o período de funcionamento da "3ª Fase". Quando escaneadas, os jogadores podem desfrutar de uma live especial onde a personagem canta e dança a música de aniversário "Happy Happy Happy☆My Birthday".

■ Colaboração com Personagens da Sanrio confirmada!

Um collab com os personagens da Sanrio foi confirmado. As sete personagens de AiPri aparecerão em novos trajes de colaboração inspirados nos personagens da Sanrio. Além disso, as ilustrações dos personagens da Sanrio também serão incluídas nas cartas.

Atualização 25/07: A Takara Tomy decidiu adicionar as My☆Dream na 3ª Fase do AiPri Verse. Assim como a adição das MARs e SoLaMi Smile, elas ganharam ilustração com novos coords, porém o gráfico delas no AiPri será o mesmo do jogo original. Também serão adicionadas algumas músicas de Idol Time.

I already said that every chapter has a line that does not leave my mind. For chapter 3 it’s : [“He’s been under quite a bit of stress the past few days.”]. Because I’d argue he’s always under stress, but right now it’s really extra stress and Niki knows him well enough to tell.

What gets me the most is that everyone just seems to move right past it. They barely acknowledge it, but I feel like it’s one of those “Tomys will remember that” moments. Like later on he’ll understand that why Wilbur is like that and then he’ll get that line.

Then there’s Wilbur trying to mend what he already messed up. I feel like he didn’t need to apologise. I don’t know if it had any effect at all because o don’t think Tommy minded (since he seems to find Wilbur being stuck up funny). (Never,ind he literally says so 5 lines later.)

Wilbur is actually in Tomys’ good books because he’ll never really scold him or tell him off (in the way his parents probably have) because he’s trying to gain something, so he has to hold back. I do love their banter.

Lastly there’s Q and Wilbur getting blinded again, this is the second time he has been blinded by something and then got surprised by Q. I wonder if he has been watching Wilbur and Niki talk (and then them talk to Tomys) from a distance (either outright spying or waiting to get Wilbur alone).

[With Quackity yanking him down by his shirt, Wilbur was forced to hunch over, stiffening when he realized just how close their faces were.

(In the back of his mind, he swore he could almost hear the sound of water lapping against the walls of the canals, and cool bricks pressed against his back.]

Streszczenie fabuły:

15-letnia Kagome mieszkająca we współczesnej Japonii zostaje wciągnięta do studni i przenosi się do ery Sengoku. Tak spotyka półdemona InuYashę. Stara się on odebrać Klejnot Czterech Dusz, który znajduje się w ciele nastolatki, ale ostatecznie klejnot rozbija się na wiele odłamków. Tak zaczyna się wspólna podróż naszych bohaterów, którzy muszą zebrać wszystkie odłamki Klejnotu. Ale po co on InuYashy?

W 4 tomie dowiadujemy się więcej o Miroku, który wkroczył na scenę w poprzednim tomie. Pojawia się też Naraku i Sango, także kto oglądał anime, ten wie, że akcji będzie coraz więcej.

A Ci, którzy anime nie widzieli, niech zostaną póki co przy mandze, bo ta - moim zdaniem - serwuje mimo wszystko lepszy klimat.

Rumiko Takahashi zadbała o to, aby czytelnik mógł wejść do głów poszczególnych bohaterów i poznać ich emocje. Co więcej, w mandze lepiej przedstawione zostały rozterki InuYashy. Żeby nie spoilerować powiem tylko, że w anime są one odrobinę bardziej przyziemne. Także tutaj plus dla mangi.

Wydawnictwo J.P.Fantastica wydaje mangę w powiększonym formacie, a grzbiety idealnie komponują się z innymi seriami od Rumiko Takahashi, tj. "Ranmą 1/2", "Kosmicznymi natrętami", "Syrenimi opowieściami" i "Zbiorem opowiadań".

"Inuyasha" to mix shonena fantasy z romansem, także polecam każdemu, kto lubi takie klimaty. A kategoria wiekowa to tylko 12+ 😉

Potem miałam dwie godziny do własciwej wigili to przeczytwłam dwa tomy jednej z mang co mi zalegała i musiałam zrobić przemeblowanie pułki bo miejsce mi się kończy xD

Na wigili nic szczególnego głównie jadłam uszka i kawałek ciastka ale szczerze na nic nie miałam ochoty do jedzenia aż tak większość kalorie to płynne bo piłam soki

Boje się jutra jade do rodziny i naoewno będzie koło 1500 kcal

Miłej nocy zagubione dusze i jak wam minęła wigilia pamiętajcie że jak jednego dnia zjadłxś woencej to nie przytyjesz i to nie jest nic złego <3
