Wright has a famous defense attorney for an ancestor, you say?  My, how far the apple has fallen from the tree.

While my knowledge of my family’s history is limited to the past few generations, I have it on good authority that the Edgeworths’ lineage can be traced back to Victorian Era Britain, part of which coincided with the Meiji Period in Japan.  I can only make educated guesses, but the possibility exists that Mr. Naruhodo crossed paths with one of my own bloodline.

Dear Nymphiawatch,

My, my.  What a troublesome question you present me with.  Am I, someone who has taken the lives of countless people, guilty and innocent alike, qualified to call myself a father to young Simon?  I’m hardly what one would call a good role model for the boy.

I suppose I can take credit for saving his life on two occasions and providing him with a home and protection, on the other hand.  It’s still rather difficult to see myself as a father figure, but I certainly agree that I fit the description far better than his father.  It truly boggles the mind, doesn’t it?

In a perfect world, he wouldn’t have needed me in the first place, but that’s not the world we live in, is it, Anubis?

Dear Nymphiawatch,

While I appreciate the compassionate wording of your letter, I don’t recall ever stating that I disliked the Steel Samurai.  I’ve simply grown tired of being viewed as a devoted fan of the show.  I find it to be uniquely well-written for a production targeted at children, and I feel no shame in recognizing something so rare in today’s entertainment media.

In any case, you need not inform me that even the most mature adults can have childish tastes.  I happen to know one who loves tiny marshmallows, but would be beaten within an inch of her life before admitting to it.

My father...was a proud man.  I don’t claim to understand his reasons for doing what he did, but I am willing to believe he acted out of love for me...love and pride.

I've decided to forgive everything he is sorry for when we see each other again.  His actions were selfish, but I don’t believe he ever intended to create as much trouble as he did.  I suppose I will know the answer soon enough.

Co-Mod: It depends on what kind of mood I’m in.  On a good day, I’m a lot like Moe -- happy, fun-loving, and willing to laugh about the silliest things.  On a bad day, I’m more like Dr. Grey, getting angry about everything and wishing things could just work out for me somehow.  But most of the time, I’d say I’m most like Vera Misham -- artistically inclined and passionate about certain things, but sort of reclusive around others.  We can’t all be Athenas, I guess.

As for my relationship to the other Mods, I’d say it’s good, but not super close.  We haven’t even communicated beyond occasional Discord chats, but that’s working out fine for us so far.

Mod Kristoph: I’d like to think I’m closest to Apollo; determined to get to the truth, snarky, and kinda loud. Thankfully, I don’t have any daddy issues like he does.

Co-Mod: See, now, there’s a question worth answering.  For characters in Dai Gyakuten Saiban with different names, we’ll probably stick to the ones given in the Ace Attorney Wiki.  We’ll still answer your letter if you use the other names, of course.

Well...how can I put this?

The animation of the console sprites might have been improved, but at this point, I don’t really see a reason to change our 2D sprites, plus I don’t know of any good place to find the newer ones on the web.  If you do, please let us know!

Co-Mod: Thanks a bundle!  If I’m not mistaken, 2011 is the year this blog originated, but it apparently started on a different website somewhere.  That’s all I know for sure, unfortunately.  I’ve loved it ever since it started, so I’m super glad to keep it going and keep it “funky”!  I highly recommend playing the games, by the way, or at least watching a playthrough of them.  They’re a lot of fun either way, plus they’ll help you understand some things about the characters you meet here.
