atp i’m kinda fifty fifty on whether dany goes genuinely dark or whether she does similar fucked up shit (ie burning KL, sacking cities with the dothraki, & killing aegon vi) before attempting some level of redemption (in her eyes & her followers eyes) by going out in an ultimately useless attempt to destroy the others. like. i think the idea that she goes out trying to stop the tide of others (probably near the trident) and her people & maybe the riverlands are touched but the north is just kinda like “that was functionally useless & also she did still fuck up the crownlands” would fit george’s idea of “light and dark both” while also fitting with the general anti war, anti violence stances of the book.

because…part of why i don’t think she ever goes north or plays a huge part in the long night is because i think that “dany destroys the others with her blood magic dragons that george has compared to nukes” doesn’t really fit with the story? i think it’s notable that jon treats ghost like a genuine, beloved pet and not a war machine & all the violence ghost has done has been his own love of jon - my dog has barked at people when he can tell i’m uncomfortable! they’re good at picking up at our underlying emotions - and this is similar to summer as well. bran explicitly forgets to treat summer as a war machine bc he’s too busy enjoying the feeling of running & hunting and doing wolf things! vs robb is implied to use grey wind to kill & it’s part of why he eventually sends grey wind away - he’s unsettled by the violence he’s caused & made grey wind cause. i think when arya gets back to the riverlands, it’s not just her mother’s violence she will have to contend with, it’s nymeria’s as well! vs dany…explicitly wants to use the dragons to conquer. so going out in a blaze of glory that does nothing to change the tide of the war, the last scion of house targaryen trying and failing to escape the clutches of a prophecy that has plagued her family for hundreds of years but at least she tries to escape unlike her family…fits with where i think characters like tyrion & jaime are going where the point is even though they do genuinely evil shit, they at least attempt a breakaway even if it’s not wholly successful.

i reserve the right to wildly change my mind on this as i keep reading tho!!! it’s just where i’m feeling in asos. she is very similar to tyrion in that she is very much of her house & embodies her house’s weaknesses & sin while also having its strengths. and given that george is very fond of tyrion and has mentioned being fond of dany…i know a lot of us bitch about how it feels like tyrion won’t get a proper “comeuppance” for like, the sheer amount of sexual abuse he partakes in bc george doesn’t have as great of an idea of consent as the average person under 50 does rn or even like, the average woman/gay has lol, and i’m wondering if he’ll do some similar “an attempt at an eleventh hour redemption” thing with her.

pandora does not remember her first words or any special event, however her parents like to tell stories about her childhood! how she was a messy eater as a toddler or how she used to kick her younger brother after she lost a game. she adores warren, by the way! they cling a lot to each other and pandora, up until this day, still kisses his cheeks without any hesitation. the girl used to have tons of animal plushies on her bed, barely having any space left for her. and let me tell you, nobody was allowed to touch them!

this might be a surprise, but she loves healthy snacks such like fresh fruits. during quidditch practise she likes to eat apples and drink a lot of water. it's not like she does this on purpose or if she's on a diet– she just simply isn't into super sweet stuffs. she isn't a picky eater, tho!

she is TERRIFIED of losing her family! if she doesn't get a letter back from her parents in time, she starts to panic that something did happen back at home. it's kind of an unhealthy trait of her. she is an easy going, warm hearted person but she CAN get scary once somebody tries to harm her loved ones. fire is definitely part of her character as she would use any unforgivable curses withouth hesitation in order to protect them.

i think it's safe to say that she is a quidditch fanatic 😂 she's pretty much updated on the teams and most recent matches. flying is her all time favourite subject in school. she tends to beg her parents to let her go to quidditch matches. also, to people who don't know her that well, it might a surprise: she is full of history of magic facts. we both know it's because of her parents lmao and potions is dead boring according to her

she remember it when she saw her two baby cousins for the first time! she adores them as if they were her own siblings. the two girls are both muggles and they attend regular schools but nymeria loves them so much! as kids they were always together. the three girls have a matching set of cat plushies which they used to sleep with 🥺

honestly, nymeria does get jealous! especially after becoming official with someone or an actually good friends. deep down she's afraid they will leave her behind just like her birth parents did and she wants to label them as "mine". but she doesn't really show it and hides it pretty well. maybe does some scary starring but nothing more than that. dealing with emotions is not her strongest point as she tends to ignore them... but once it all builds up, she lets it all out and breaks down crying. on her own, away from everyone. as an adult, she works on her communication and does share everything what's on her mind to maxim! her wrong judgement of the boy gave her a good lession lol

as a teenager, her friends (the girl gang) is totally her source of happiness. and the letters she gets from home! later on, maxim is a huge part of it. they're like two puzzle pieces. and she's totally that type of person who is in love with her job! reaching the auror career is something she's proud of and she enjoys every single day.

she has a gentle and warm smile so maybe it's something that can make her loved ones happy!

you know how Nymeria tends to get quiet, but she freaking adores duelling. it's like she doesn't have to share her inner conflicts yet still such an fun way to express her feelings. when she gets angry, her spells are more powerful and dangerous. she's also really talented in dada and charms! potions is something she doesn't really like but it's an important subject for the auror career so naturally, she takes it very seriously.

I am glad you like them all! I think Martin writes masterfully complex female characters and all of them (major or minor they might be) are some of the strongest, well-rounded and complex characters of the series ✨

Whilst I do have preferences mostly due to my own taste on characters; I appreciate all of them, may they be villain, heroes, anti-heroes or what else; also because I feel like these categories fall short to inscribe one or several characters to them as they are determined women fighting in a world were it was either fight and win or fight and die. So I do try to stay as neutral as I can, taking into account every aspect of what has made them follow a certain path.

For example in my meta about the responsibility of the Stark girls in the whole matter of Nymeria I have considered both Arya and Sansa’s side of the matter as well as Cersei’s (going as far as to point out how, in that kind of environment, a woman, a mother — especially a queen — had every right, with what she knew, of demanding that the men eating wolf who had wounded her son was put down; even tho we dislike it for our own modern sensibilities and because we know the truth of how the matters evolved; x).

Or when I speak about why the Starks are most probably meant to end up on top it’s because they have an advantage neither of the others seem to have had: a good example. They had a Ned Stark (with all the eventual mistakes he made).

Or like when I defend or take into account some choices Daenerys made (whilst I see a dark path ahead) based off the trauma she endured, considering some of her choice-making as a result of coping mechanisms and the lack of a good and efficient example, her youth and the people that advise her (that are not always up to the task).

I am happy you enjoyed my Venus meta (x); it is only one of a longer series (for example I have another meta which considers Sansa and the mythology figures that are linked to her, xx; or how the history of Osiris/Isis/Nephytis/Horus can be paralleled to Jon/Sansa/Arya/Bran, xxx; as well as a meta paralleling Daenerys with Cleopatra, xxxx) still ongoing (as I am writing an Orpheus/Eurydice with Lady Stoneheart and Arya).

the book itself tho brings me lots of fun! always enjoy the ride and still get fascinated at certain parts. ofc, there are also parts that reveal, ugh, not the pretty picture of what grrm does to female characters he isn't interested in and other stuff like that or simply smth that can entertain you only during the first read (that's maegor's reign for me personally) but generally i love this!

though, as a dany stan first and key five stan second, i do wish grrm finished the main story first and only after that went having fun writing as many spin offs and additional lore stories as he wanted. had he done so, we would already have the whole journey of our main characters and could have so much fun, e.g., by figuring out all the fascinating parallels between dany and her ancestors. but alas, that's not how it went, unfortunately.

tldr; it's not perfect but very, very good! antis can bite me but also i would actually trade f&b for twow (and ados if the girl is allowed to get greedy lol) any given day.

I have read some theories and predictions about post-resurrection!Jon but I’m not a fan of any of them.  I don’t think that “Jon will come back a bad boy to fit in Dany’s taste of men” for example.  And some other speculations sadden me because they say Jon will come back sterile or having lost his memory.

About Jon and Sansa reunion tho... I've thought about it a good deal.  Especially about these passages:

Robb took them all the way down to the end, past Grandfather and Brandon and Lyanna, to show them their own tombs. Sansa kept looking at the stubby little candle, anxious that it might go out. Old Nan had told her there were spiders down here, and rats as big as dogs. Robb smiled when she said that. “There are worse things than spiders and rats,” he whispered. “This is where the dead walk.” That was when they heard the sound, low and deep and shivery. Baby Bran had clutched at Arya’s hand.

When the spirit stepped out of the open tomb, pale white and moaning for blood, Sansa ran shrieking for the stairs, and Bran wrapped himself around Robb’s leg, sobbing. Arya stood her ground and gave the spirit a punch. It was only Jon, covered with flour. “You stupid,” she told him,“you scared the baby,” but Jon and Robb just laughed and laughed, and pretty soon Bran and Arya were laughing too.

The memory made Arya smile, and after that the darkness held no more terrors for her. The stableboy was dead, she’d killed him, and if he jumped out at her she’d kill him again. She was going home. Everything would be better once she was home again, safe behind Winterfell’s grey granite walls.

The first passage could be a foreshadowing of Sansa being the first Stark to meet post-resurrection!Jon:

“There are worse things than spiders and rats,” he whispered. “This is where the dead walk.” 

When the spirit stepped out of the open tomb, pale white and moaning for blood, Sansa ran shrieking for the stairs (...)  It was only Jon, covered with flour.

It happened the same with the second passage:

In some sense the black tomcat of the Red Keep could be a representation of Jon, the cat is even called “black bastard”, and when the cat brushed Sansa’s leg, it scared Sansa in a similar fashion than Jon playing to be a Ghost back in the Winterfell Crypts.  We can even say that the black tomcat acts like a ghost wandering around the castle reminding some people of Rhaeny’s kitten Balerion.  

And in the third passage we see how the true Sansa Stark slipped out from the Alayne Stone persona at the mere mention of “some bastard son of Eddard Stark's.”  And at the mention of a member of her family safe and sound, Sansa thinks how sweet it would be to meet him again:    

She had not thought of Jon in ages. He was only her half brother, but still . . . with Robb and Bran and Rickon dead, Jon Snow was the only brother that remained to her. I am a bastard too now, just like him. Oh, it would be so sweet, to see him once again. But of course that could never be. Alayne Stone had no brothers, baseborn or otherwise.

This is another hint that a first Stark reunion between Sansa and Jon is rather probable.

Another hint is that with Lady’s death and Jon’s death, Sansa and Jon could be each other missing part, since Sansa lost her direwolf and Ghost lost its master.  In summary:

Jon’s direwolf name is Ghost;

Jon literally died so he also is a ghost himself; and, 

Sansa’s direwolf was killed and is mentioned as a “shade”, which is a synonym of ghost:

Summer’s howls were long and sad, full of grief and longing. Shaggydog’s were more savage. Their voices echoed through the yards and halls until the castle rang and it seemed as though some great pack of direwolves haunted Winterfell, instead of only two … two where there had once been six. Do they miss their brothers and sisters too? Bran wondered. Are they calling to Grey Wind and Ghost, to Nymeria and Lady’s Shade? Do they want them to come home and be a pack together?

This passage about “direwolves haunting Winterfell” is very telling, specially because haunting is what spirits do, and Ghost & Lady’s Shade stand out among the wolf pack.

So all of this could be also a hint of Jon and Sansa retaking Winterfell and start howling calling the rest of their siblings to come back home, to be a pack again.      

This imagery of “Ghost and Shade haunting” is repeated in a Victarion’s chapter, as it was pointed out in this post.  

Two sleek galleys sail from Meereen and Yunkai south toward New Ghis for supplies and legionary reinforcements, but encounter the Iron Fleet in Slaver's Bay. And curiously enough, it is vastly speculated that Victarion may have died and came back to life thanks to the Red Priest Moqorro.  The same way it is vastly speculated that the Red Priestess Melisandre will perform some fire ritual to make Jon come back to life.  So we can say that Victarion is also a ghost.  And both Jon and Victarion have a hand burned.

So, I’m sure that Jon and Sansa will meet again and we have textual evidence that they will team up to retake Winterfell.  How will Jon come back to life?  It is not certain.  Some theories say that he will be more beast than man for a while, since his soul will inhabit inside Ghost until he resurrects.  And since Sansa has a long training in taming beasts, she will do well with post-resurrection!Jon.  There are also some theories about Sansa taming Beast!Jon with her singing and helping him heal and bringing back his humanity.  I agree with those theories.

Daenerys always had two soulmarks. Neither of them was her sun and stars. This was a fact that always made her sad. How could Drogo, the love of her life, the one who gave her love and a child - dead in childbirth - not be her soulmate?

She wished for the Gods, the old and the new, to change the mark on her shoulder blade to a stallion running on a field of stars.

But it didn't change. Remained the same. Two wolves near one another, one grey as a storm sky and the other as white as snow, the female being with the head under the male's throat, both of them howling to the sky, where a red black dragon was with its open wings, as it was about wrap them into its warmth and protection.

Dany always knew she was the dragon, but she had no idea who could be the the wolves.

When she met Daario, she tought about the mark, but the charming men was one of the few people, cursed by the Gods to not have a soulmate.

Of course, Dany knew, that even tho soulmarks were sacred, most part of royalty and member of great houses, usually don't end up with the ones their souls belongs to. It didn't stop making her sad, because maybe, just maybe she would never live enough to meet them.

Where they live? Westeros? Essos? The Summer Slands? In wich part? This world is so big. How could I ever find them? When would I have time? I'm a queen. My people comes in first place.

When she heard the wolf howling at the distance, she could feel that a part of her was gone, angst filled her soul and members to the point wasn't easy to breath, she just didn't know why.

Jon always manteined a secret close to his heart. Something, he didn't tell to anyone, neither Robb, much less to his father. The only one who knew was Arya, his little sister. His heart.

Usually, the soulmate's mark appear when someone turns ten and two. For a bastard to end up having such a sacred bond, Lady Catelyn would take it as blasphemy.

Of couse, Jon always believed would be someone else and not Arya, his little sister, his half-siter, the one who always makes him laugh. She was a child, much younger to be half of his soul. Maybe would be a Karstark? Distance cousins of the starks. Maybe a bastard serving and devoting his or her life to House Stark. There were innumerous possibilities. (He was curious about the dragon, but after knowing that could represent a Targaryen or a Blackfyre, Jon's wish to remain it secret became even more serious).

But everything changed when he saw Ghost, and then Nymeria, he knew, he just knew, it was her. It was Arya. The one who was as wilfull and wild as her wolf.

It was the only single thing, he kept secret from Arya. She would know someday, after seeing his mark, but Jon was selfish enough to want to tell her goodbye, and not having her last memory being with tears rolling down her cheeks, but of a bright smile on her face.

He couldn't protect her. He couldn't and must not have her. One day she would hate him. One day Arya would be disgusted to share the soulmark with her bastard brother. But one day wasn't the the present, and in the present he would welcome the happiness.

He was truly cursed, as all the bastards should be. He was dirty. Having a sister as a soulmate. Disgusting. He deserved the Wall and all the stones in his path.

It didn't change that he always belonged to her. All his heart and soul since Arya said "I love you, Jon" for the first time. At time, he didn't expect that would turn to be much stronger than it should be.

When he heard about Ned's death, Jon felt his heart stop. The soulmark was still there. Arya was still alive.

Alive. Alive. Alive. Breathing. Warm body. Her laugh still existed. He could still hear it.

The relieve barely existed, because after this all the scenarios was running down his head. Was she beaten up? Starving? Haressad? Lost a member? Prisioner? Raped?

He had nightmares about every single thing about what could be happening with her. The only scape was the worrying, terrifying scenario with the Others, and of course, the wildlings.

And then he met Ygritte. Someone with red eyes, but a fierce and stuborn spirit. Something that reminded him of a little girl with the eyes of a wolf and a passion for swords and flowers.

Was not a secret that there were plantiful cases where someone ends up with someone who isn't your soulmate.

There were rumours Lady Catelyn wasn't Eddard's soulmate. Rumours that Lady Catelyn and Lord Stark smashed down easily.

Maybe he could have loved her if he hasn't taken the black.

"Would you bed your sister?"

He didn't answer. Would he ever? When Arya be older enough, would he desire her as a man should desire a woman?

And then, he died. He betrayed the Night's Watch and he died. He died thinking about her. About the last memory he had with Arya. Stick them with the pointy end. He would never see her face again.

It was one of a lot of regrets.

Arya Stark was not romantic. She was too young, she just wanted to play with her friends in Winterfell, and be with her siblings. Happily ever after.

The first time she heard of soulmate, was her sister saying that hers would belong to a shining knight prince like the songs and they would marry and have beautiful babies together.

Arya said it was stupid. How could you love someone without knowing them? Sansa replied telling that Horseface probably wouldn't have a soulmate in first, and if it had, would be someone as ugly as her.

Arya cried that day, and vengefully put Sansa's new dress in the stables.

Her mother was so furious. Sansa started crying saying how unfair Arya was behaeving. Of course, Arya felt sad, and tried to apologize.

It didn't work. It never did.

Maybe Sansa was right. Maybe she wouldn't have one. It was not like Arya wanted one in first place. She told herself.

Of course, Arya felt surprise to know that Jon also had a soulmark after she told him what happend. "It is a secret", he said, "just between you and I. No one can know about it. Promise me?"

"Neither dad?"

"Neither dad."

"I promise by the old gods and the new." She repeated what her father always said be the most serious and ubreakable oath a man can do.

And then she asked to see. Was beautiful, located in his chest, right on the heart. Arya loved the wolves together, and the dragon, something like coming from the battle songs she liked to hear.

Then she remembered what it meant. Someday Jon would let her go for someone else. She would be truly lonely.

And she hated his mark that day. She didn't tell him that she disliked the soulmark. Was special, a gift from the gods, by what she heard. And Jon deserved happiness after all the cruel things she heard her mother saying about him and to him.

So just, selfshly, she asked him to never leave her, to take her with him when he finds out who it is. Jon laughed, and hugged her tightly, but didn't answer.

Arya Stark was seven at the time.

Lya Snow was a mermaid about to turn ten and two. One of a few who served and helped the Merling Queen in Braavos.

She would dance, and play the musical instruments, since she was not good at singing. Learning how to read a man, and his intentions. How to seduce and manipulate someone with a charming smile on her face and false promises of a good night. Of course, was just a training move. She wasn't attractive for men with her younger tiny body, but one day, when she gets older, those lessons would be truly important and one more weapon to use, just like she have seen The Merling Queen use it so many times.

Lya wasn't found of dresses, but the ones she had used, after finally being used to the silk, was refreshing and didn't restrained her body.

This is why she was dancing with the other mermaids near the moon pool. Giggleling while jumping and spinning gracefully. The day was coming to an end, the sky painted in different tones of yellow and orange when she heard the saillors talking about Westeros.

Something about the Black Bastard on the Wall. About treason and a lady being kidnapped.

Lya was about to get closer, to hear what happend, but then one of the mermaids held her hand.

"It is getting late, Lya. We should go before the Bravos start dancing."

Arya wanted to say no. She wanted to know about the wall. About Jon.

Lya just followed the other girl back.

She had a target to kill.

The next day, there were whispers about the body hanged in front of the sealord palace. The collar around the dead man's neck saying that it was a slaver trader.

Braavosi despise slavery.

Nobody cared.

Lya was taking a shower for the next day, when one of the girls take a deep surprised breath.

"R'hllor, Lya! Your soulmark is beautiful!"

Lya's world stoped. A girl shouldn't have soulmarks.

All the followers of Him of Many Faces should be devoted only to Him.

A girl couldn't have a soulmark.

Lya was half naked, running to the mirror in the bath room, and there was it.

Similar of one she had seen a long time ago, on the chest of a loved brother, but different.

A soulmark.

A girl have a soulmate.

Lya have a soulmate.

Arya Stark have a soulmate.

The girls were speaking excited around her, wanting to see closer. Arya just could look at her skin, near the belly bottom.

The white wolf's furr seemed to be flames, with little delicates details in blue, and there were wings on its back, barely open, close to the body. And its eyes... Its eyes were open while howling, the color of blood. Ruby red.

i've been meaning to ask this for a while but forgot, what's your stance on show!bran when he turns into the three-eyed raven?

i don’t really know how to feel about it because we didn’t get to see bran for so long, and then we got such minimal bran contact. i do think downloading all of the world’s (and esp your loved one’s) trauma’s in order to save the world would make anyone cruel as a way to cope. i also intuitively defend bran because EVERYONE blames him for EVERYTHING. sansa stans act as tho bran has an active interest in traumatizing sansa... even tho that scene was obviously included in that episode to compare/contrast dany and sansa by bringing up both of their similar traumas. jon stans are PISSED jon was exiled, and act as though bran personally betrayed jon, who was so good to him. and ofc, bran stole jon’s rightful spot. i don’t need to get into how targaryen stans treat bran because i’m sure you’re all aware. ACTUALLY i will get into it —

targ stans have blamed bran for aerys’ madness since at least season 6. they claim bran warged drogon and made him go crazy in the bells. they say he should’ve spoken up and said something about dany going mad and everything’s his fault bc he didn’t. they claim dany and jon are more important than bran. it’s his fault rhaegal died.... blah blah blah

jaime stans are the most transparent... bran deserved being crippled for stumbling into incest??? let young boys do parkour without ruining their lives 2020

most of the other stark stans weaponize bran in their arguments with each other. jonryas vs jonsas are always like ‘you don’t give a SHIT about bran’ to each other, but it’s never actually about bran.

so yeah because of all this, i’m VERY reticent to EVER EVER give them ANY ground ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. this is why i call myself a bran stark rights activist haha. i thus don’t have an organic opinion on this, because i view everything through my LEAVE HIM ALONE lense.

there’s some eras i haven’t really dug into yet that i want to, so i’m sure i’ll get interested in other characters too, and my reread will likely throw some other shit in my brain as well. but this is what i could think of for right now.

For some reason I’m becoming really fascinated with my own character, Nymeria, because of everything about her- Her miserableness with the life she has right now, her swearing of revenge against the entire world due to the insanity her powers caused her, and her eventual possession by Aya, the “Vessel of Destruction” and shadow of Kaya, and then Nymeria’s final sacrifice: Killing herself, bringing Aya down with her to rid the world of Aya. 

i keep listening the song “The Song I Heard Somewhere” (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieRplpDRXJ8&list=RDieRplpDRXJ8&start_radio=1 ) and writing stuff in a almost-poem-idk-what-it-is-honestly-way. 

Hence yet again I made something similar to the last writing thing I wrote, which may be easier to understand whats going on? idk:

A bright light pierces the sky, A woman stands, Her face looking to the sky. How did I survive the keen blade which had been created to kill my kind? How did I survive the attempt on my life?

Upon awaking, realizing she had survived, She ordered the destruction of all “God Blades” which had been specially created to destroy the souls of the gods. With their destruction, Officially no physical weapon was now capable of destroying the goddesses. The assailant was found and executed brutally and personally by Nymeria.

Now with that out of the way, she was left to think on it all.

Her mind had officially been lost, twisting and turning into a desire for revenge. What had triggered this sudden insanity?

It may be that upon surviving a fatal blow, she realized something, That this world was cruel and unclean. That everyone in it had the potential to be evil. And by allowing her existence, Somehow it had wronged her. The insanity caused by the powers of the creator had now caused insanity to the goddess of time. It should have been billions of years before that point, however, But I suppose anything can happen, right?

Now swearing revenge against the world and Kaya herself, She began her revenge plan. Bring instability to the world, and then destroy it all!

(“Now, destroy everything!”)

Emerald eyes gleaming for once after billions of years of miserable living, She chose her path. Now her destiny is officially sealed. “Ever Changing Fate” Whilst destiny will never change, Fate, the chosen path, May change often.

Hence the name of this story, This story of the time goddess and a girl who found out something she never should have found. And the ensuing civil war, Theda will fall into chaos. And Nymeria will fall, She will be sealed away on a distant island in the middle of the ocean. And the story of the Destroyer will ensue years later, The goddesses will fall into sleep, And the world will go on without them, This story of the miserable life goddess Will finally end with Nymeria’s sacrifice five hundred years later…

I used to actually despise Nymeria as a character, yes even tho she was my own character I hated her, but that was meant to be a good thing because she was made to be hated. And she still is made to be hated. She’s still an arrogant, self-absorbed bitch. But I have a bit of sympathy for her because she honestly had no control over herself by the time the assassination attempt happened, her insanity was starting to take hold. It’s a mystery why her insanity so much earlier (as it’s only 996 T.C. by the time her insanity starts, which is 549 years before 1545, the beginning of my story) than the other goddesses insanity had their insanity eventually start, and even then Nymeria’s insanity acted very quickly and she had already basically just lost it within only a month. So, in a way you can feel bad for her, but she still had some self control and chose to do a lot of things on her own will and now instinctively in a sense, like she does it just on impulse and regrets it later, no, she doesn’t regret a lot of what she has done originally, at least not until she dies does she finally regret everything. 

The insanity of the goddesses causes them to wish to destroy the world because the goddesses powers are simply parts of Kaya’s powers, the powers of the creator, and the insanity basically makes them want to destroy, opposite to the powers being able to create. Whilst the goddesses’ powers are not actually able to create on their own and instead manifested based on their personalities and everything, their still power that was originally within Kaya and thus were originally creation powers.

So even though the world really has done nothing to her, it was Kaya the entire time who had wronged her (albeit she never had malicious intentions, Kaya was desperate and didn’t think of how wrong this was to force part of your power onto someone else who has never before had this power unlike her whose had it for a few trillion years at this point), and basically she channeled the insanity into: I want to get revenge on Kaya and the world, and the easiest way is to destroy the world Kaya loves so much and then kill her!

So, yeah, ._. Nymeria is just messed up in the head.

She’s clearly got a lot going on. They’ve clearly lost a sense of themselves along the way, but I’m not sure that that that makes them “insane”. I think it just is more along the lines of them losing the idea of what it means to  have their job. Since they more or less control so many functions of reality and are supposed to be in harmony with humanity and everything that is tied together with that fact, and if they lose that control...

Well, it’s a mess.

It’s the story far too told in history in many cultures... where the gods, goddess, and more lose control and their sense of meaning the more they’re pulled from what it is that makes humanity— humanity in the first place. That’s why they’re always drawn to humans. We hold things that they do not and that comes to a cost for many people.

Arya still kissed Gendry, and with tenderness and affection. Her rejection was of his proposal, not of him.

As she says, "that's not her". Being a lady over a lord's castle with sons who will be lords and princes like Ned said in season 1. In season 7, on her way back to Winterfell, she comes across Nymeria, now wild and traveling with her wolfpack. Arya begs Nymeria to come with her and when Nymeria eventually turns away and leaves, Arya whispers, "that's not you." Nymeria is now wild and her true self. Arya understands that she is the same.

This doesn't mean she doesn't want Gendry, but she may still want him in another way. She cannot be the lady of Storms End, and it probably does not even cross her mind to ask Gendry to give up something so good that's happened to him.

He grew up lowborn in Fleabottom of all places. He's been at the lowest of the low and has always been at the mercy of those more powerful than him. He has had little agency in his life: working in the shop from such a young age, being sent off to the Wall, captured and working at Harrenhall, trying to join the Brotherhood only to be sold to Stannis and the Red Woman, sent back to Fleabottom to wait for Davos and waiting to be useful and do something with more purpose. For him to go from "nothing" to one of the highest positions in the kingdom is something vastly important for him to receive. For him to be legitimized and no longer refer to himself as a bastard??? An even bigger deal! Arya would never think to take away such an important opportunity from him. She would never ask him to, it wouldn't even be an option at that moment.

But what does he want most?

"They're a like a family. I've never had a family."

"None of it will mean anything if you're not with me."

He wants a family, and he wants it with Arya. He sees it in Arya.

"My featherbed is deep and soft,

and there I'll lay you down,

I'll dress you all in yellow silk,

and on your head a crown.

For you shall be my lady love,

and I shall be your lord.

I'll always keep you warm and safe,

and guard you with my sword."

We're in this stage of their story. And damn, I never even noticed the significance of the line: "dress you all in *yellow* silk". YELLOW IS THE COLOUR OF HOUSE BARATHEON (I am dead and done over here wow.)

And then we are yet to come to the second part of their story, Arya's counter proposal as told in the second verse:

"And how she smiled and how she laughed,

the maiden of the tree.

She spun away and said to him,

no featherbed for me.

I'll wear a gown of golden leaves,

and bind my hair with grass,

But you can be my forest love,

and me your forest lass."

In Season 6, Arya has a conversation with Lady Crane. She asks Arya to join the theatre company and travel with them. Arya turns her down and when asked where she'll go instead, Arya shrugs and says, "Essos in east and Westeros is west... but what's west of Westeros?" Whether or not she actually ends up sailing west of Westeros, Arya has a thirst for adventure and seeing the world. If she chooses this, she will ask Gendry to "be her forest love", that is to say, to travel the world with her. (That being said, she says this all before she knows her family is alive at Winterfell. Will she want to be away from them again? She tells The Hound she dies not plan on returning to Winterfell. Why? Time aka the next two weeks will tell and I can't wait to find out what's in store for our girl.)

Gendry is going to give it all up to be with her wherever she goes, whatever it is they do. And what's so important is that he won't even consider it to be giving anything up. the only thing important to him is Arya, his family - THAT'S what he would be giving up and right now, he doesn't even know if he can have any of that. But once he does...? WOW we are in for the riDE of oUR LIVES.
