Dream's stage presence during the TWWTH tour was great, and frankly a lot more than I expected from a guy with little to no experience with live performances. I had no doubt he'd be good at it, but he truly blew me away. And the fact he was able to pull it off so soon after a major surgery that left him unable to walk on his own? Absolutely incredible

I really hope he decides to do another tour in the future, it would be awesome to see how well he could command an audience now that he has a better idea of what he's doing/doesn't have to rehearse through a recovery period

On Memorial Day weekend in 1949, the NY Times sent a reporter and photographer to follow an out-of-town couple on their first visit to the city. The resulting story appeared with the headline, "Young Couple on First Visit Here Breathless After Tour of Big City 'Wonders.'" The Boston couple was treated to a whirlwind three-hour tour of the Big Apple, including a stop in Greenwich Village with a street portrait artist.

"To a young out-of-town couple here for the Memorial Day weekend … New York is 'wonderful, fabulous, glamorous, beautiful, and any other adjectives you can think of,' " The Times wrote May 31, 1949. "This is our first time in New York," said the 25-year-old woman. "I just can't get over it. I thought Boston was big, but oh, my! The skyscrapers are so big and everything is on such a gigantic scale here. I really just can't get over it."

A street portrait artist sat with his easel at Washington Square South and Thompson Street and caught the couple's attention. A moment later, the woman was in a chair posing for a portrait while her husband looked on. "I always wanted to do this, " she said when the artist had finished.

I do not know enough about Lagerfeld's work to know what this has to do with the most recent Sketchy Yet Famous honoree, but Janelle Monae at least looks Artistic And Weird. Good for her!

Google says this is Met Gala co-chair Michaela Coel. The placement of the "pasties" and fringe-looking "skirt" beading remind me of Josephine Baker, but that's probably just my very specific frame of reference. Either way, love it!

I need to catch up on What We Do In The Shadows. Anyway, Harvey Guillien is fast cementing himself as one of the few Men Who Understand The Assignment every year.

As is tradition, my sister sent me JChas' look, and as seems to be tradition, it was a lovely and very Safe dress that I'm sure had something or other to do with the theme. That being said, I do think that shade of blonde makes her look like a mom who exclusively dresses little Brynleigh-Aynn in taupe:

when i was 15 i went on holiday to vermont with my dad for like 3 weeks and we were staying at various places across the state but i only had wifi like, 25% of the time so for most of the holiday it was just me and the ENTIRETY of shoujo cosette that i frantically torrented the week before we left. sitting there in this beautiful scenic cabin out in the middle of nowhere entertaining myself with the fucking adventures of gavroche and chou chou the dog

What a weekend, I'm happy to report that we made it home safe and sound. These last few days have been some of the best I've ever had and I'm so very grateful to have been able to experience everything!

Miku Expo rocked! The rave in New York? Freaking INCREDIBLE!!! The music was booming, the crowd was hype as fuck, and this little lady fuckin KILLED IT on the dancefloor! I always feel like my happiest, most genuine self when I'm dancing the night away all dolled up with some amazing friends💖

Travel, tunes, and time with friends...man, this is what it's all about. I can't wait for the next one!
