"So I'm cleared?" You asked, sitting up on the table.
"Yes Mrs Severide, you may now return to full workouts, sexual activity and carrying more than 20 pounds. Take it slow, if anything is painful or feels out of the ordinary, please give us a call," Dr Calhoun replied, "how does that make you feel? Mentally?"
"Honestly, a little nervous."
"Why?"
"What if something happens?"
"From everything that I have checked, there is no need for concern. If something happens, we're only a call away. If its after hours, head to Med and have them page me. If there's something wrong, and I don’t think there is, but if something happens, we will take care of it. There's no need to worry."
"Okay. So I'm really good to go?"
"Absolutely. My last word of advice because I've been doing this for a while and I now have two of my own, use a good lube or try it in the shower for the first few times. It makes all the difference."
You chuckled, "Thank you Doctor Calhoun, for eveything."
"If you ever decide to have more children or need a GYN, give me a call."
Dr Calhoun left the room and you collected yourself and Alexis to leave your final OB appointment for the foreseeable future.
After arriving back at your car, you placed Alexis' carseat in the base and called Kelly.
"Hey, how'd it go?" Kelly eagerly answered your call.
"Good, all cleared and good to go. You home from shift yet?"
"Just leaving 51. Meet you at home?”
"Sounds good, see you soon. Love you."
"Love you too."
“Kelly, you here?" You heard rustling in the bedroom.
“Yeah, hold on.”
The rustling continued.
“What are you doing?” You laughed.
“Found it,” he exited your bedroom holding a box.
He followed you to the couch, a now sleeping baby nestled in the crook of your arm.
“Whatcha got there?”
“Katie sent us some stuff from New York for Alexis.”
“Katie working today? We should FaceTime her to open it.”
“How long has Alexis been asleep?”
“Almost an hour. I fed her before my appointment and she slept the whole time.”
“How lucky are we that she’s a damn good sleeper?”
“So lucky.”
He looked at the unopened USPS box on the coffee table.
“So calling Katie?”
“Let’s do it, I’ll see if Alexis wakes up when I pick her up.”
You picked Alexis up as Kelly started the FaceTime call to his sister. Alexis awoke, but was her usual calm self as soon as she opened her eyes.
“Hi Alexis!!” Katie smiled as she answered the FaceTime call.
You took Alexis’ arm in your hand and gave Katie a little wave.
“We wanted to wait to open the package until we were with you, but I guess FaceTime will have to do,” Kelly laughed.
“Actually, let’s wait to do it until I’m there.”
“How long will that be?”
“About 30 seconds,” she giggled, knocking on your apartment door.
Kelly practically ran to open the door and hug her.
“How long has it been?” He chuckled.
“Too long,” she smiled, hugging him back.
You invited Katie in and spent the rest of the day hanging out and catching up, before finally opening the package. It was filled with NYC and Manhattan-related gifts along with a white envelope on the bottom.
“What’s in there?” You asked, curiously.
“Open it,” she smiled.
“Tickets to the Blackhawks game?” Kelly was giddy, he was so excited.
“They’re for tonight, I’ll babysit. You guys have fun,” Katie grinned.
“Katie, I- I- I don’t know what to say,” you started to tear up.
“Don’t say anything, I’m happy to do it. I’m gonna go check into my hotel and I’ll be back in time for you guys to get to the game.”
“Kelly are you ready?” You called into the bedroom while bopping Alexis.
“Yup, I’ll be right there.”
He walked out of the bedroom with his Blackhawks jersey in hand, wearing one of those undershirts you couldn’t help but fall in love with.
“You gonna carry that at the game too?” You giggled.
“Don’t want Alexis to spit up on it. Put it on when we leave,” he laughed, taking your daughter from your arms.
“Katie will be here in like 30 minutes. I gotta curl my hair and do my makeup and get changed.”
“Already found something for you to wear,” he smirked, “it’s on the bed.”
You walked in to the bedroom to find your Jonathan Toews jersey and your favourite pair of jeans on the bed.
"How did you know?" you laughed.
"What can I say? I know you well, babe."
You changed quickly and fixed up your curls.
"Katie's here," Kelly called.
"Be right there."
Quickly, you threw on some mascara and lip gloss before going to the living room.
"You look good babe," Kelly smiled, handing Alexis off to Katie.
You leaned over and kissed him, feeling a little more like you wanted to stay in rather than go out.
"There's, uh, breast milk in the fridge, her schedule is on the counter. Um, Sylvie's number is on the fridge in case there's any, uh, problems," your mind distracted from the kiss, you couldn’t help but giggle.
"We'll be fine. You guys have fun," Katie smiled.
You gave Alexis a hug and a kiss on the cheek, "good night baby, mommy loves you so much."
"Good night Alexis, daddy loves you to the moon and back."
Watching Kelly love Alexis was something that made you fall in love with him more and more. Having a stable husband with whom you shared a child with was something you dreamt of since high school.
Kelly grabbed his jersey and followed you out the door.
--
Walking out of the United Center back to Kelly's car, you were exilerated, but exhasted. The Blackhawks had just snapped their 5 game losing streak, and won with a 4-0 shoutout. That was the perfect end to your first night out after becoming parents.
"How you feeling?" Kelly asked, "you up for Molly's or are you done for the night?"
You stopped at the car, leaning into Kelly for a kiss, "What about something else?" you smiled.
"You up for that? You just got cleared today," he asked, kissing your neck. He knew you wouldn't say anything unless you were ready.
"Bassinet is finally in Alexis' room. Seems like a great time to test things out again."
"You look so good tonight baby, we'll do whatever you want," he smiled as he went back in for another kiss.
The traffic home was a nightmare, but by the time you got to the apartment, you were ready for anything.
"We're home," you smiled, opening the apartment door.
Katie was asleep on the couch, but woke at the sound of your shoes coming through the door.
"How'd it go?" You asked, going to check the baby monitor.
"Been up every 3 hours since you guys left, but she just went down about a half hour ago if you guys want to get some sleep," she yawned, packing up her purse.
“You need a ride to the hotel?” Kelly asked.
“I have an uber a few minutes away, but thank you.”
“I have another day before I’m back on shift, wanna meet up and do something tomorrow?”
“That sounds great, I’ll text you guys when I’m ready for the day.”
You and Kelly both hugged Katie before seeing her out of the apartment. You watched her get on the elevator and then locked the door behind you as you entered the apartment.
“Shower or bed?” You laughed, pulling him closer for a kiss by the collar on his jersey.
“Whatever you want baby,” he chuckled, pulling your jersey off, “it’s your night.”
You grabbed Kelly by the hand and led him into the master en suite. The bathroom door clicked shut and Alexis started to cry.
“Shit,” you started to laugh, resting your head on his chest.
“I’ll get her, put her back down. I’ll met you in there in a few.”
Kelly left the bathroom for the nursery and you started the water. Throwing your clothes on the counter, your hand brushed by your scar. Healed up and mostly pain free, it was still a reminder of what had to be done to bring Alexis into the world. You stepped in the shower, wincing at the feel of the water being a tad too cold, and turned the temperature to more suit the steamy theme of the evening. Kelly returned, already having left his jersey in the other room.
“How’s the baby?” You asked.
“Good, pacifier fell out of her mouth.” He mindlessly undid his jeans and removed the tank covering his chest.  He looked back towards the shower.
“Damn, you’re-“ he was almost breathless. The two of you had been intimate all throughout your pregnancy, but the morning sickness wasn’t as attractive as you naked in the shower.
“You gonna join me?” You didn’t have to ask twice, he was gonna obey the first time.
He finished undressing and practically leapt into the shower. With a flick of the wrist, he tipped your chin up to make eye contact with him. Backing you in the shower’s wall, he placed his other hand on the tile for support. He leaned in and the passionate kisses began shortly after.

You're everything I never knew I needed. │Frank Castle x Fem!Reader
I’m fully aware of the inconsistency in my writing/posting. I’m even more aware that there are many similar fics, but... It’s never enough. I just had to. I’m a sucker for our boy Frankie taking care of his girl. Hope you’ll enjoy it!
pairing: frank castle x fem!reader
word count: 2k
warnings: swearing, mentions of blood, period pain
summary: Your period came unexpectedly just as Frank comes to see you after being away from NYC. It's pure fluff.
Tumblr media
Not everyone can say they're friends with the most badass vigilante in New York City. You and Frank have forged an unbreakable bond over countless nights spent stitching up his bullet-ridden body. He'd crawl to your balcony like a wounded animal seeking shelter, and you'd nurse him back to health.
Your friendship was simple, you took care of him, and he took care of you. He'd fix things around your apartment, like the water heater that blew up or carry your groceries to your apartment. But it wasn't just his actions that spoke volumes. You could see something in his eyes when he looked at you - a hidden feeling.
Sometimes, Frank's PTSD would get the best of him, and he'd lash out at you. But you knew it wasn't his fault. You stood by him, no matter what because you knew what he went through. You were always there for him, no matter the cost.
You never told Frank how you felt about him, but you didn't need to. He knew, just like he knew, how much you meant to him.
 ...
It's been a while since you last saw Frank. He had told you he would be out of town for a bit, which left you stuck in your apartment with nothing but your thoughts and the TV. You'd become accustomed to being on call in case he needed you, causing you to lose touch with most of your so-called "friends." But you never gave a damn about them. Frank was the only one who mattered in the big apple.
You had expected tonight to be just another dull evening spent munching on chips and binge-watching another crime docu-series on Netflix. You had passed out in bed, cuddled under the blanket you used to cover Frank with after a long stitching-up session.
But at two a.m., you jolted awake to a familiar pain stabbing your gut. You didn't bother tracking your period calendar because you hadn't been with anyone for so long that you stopped caring about when it would come.
Shit. You cursed as you realized your bed was stained with blood.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuuuck. This can't be happening. Today was the day you had to pitch your new designs to your most critical client, and the last thing you wanted was to deal with the aftermath of a messy period. You had no time to wash your sheets, deal with the cramps, or even shower at this godforsaken hour.
You needed relief fast, but when you reached for your painkillers, you remembered giving them all to Frank when you stitched him up a few weeks ago. You searched through your first aid kit for anything to alleviate the pain, but in haste, you knocked the whole thing over, spilling everything onto the tiles.
Arrghhh. You were furious at this point, knowing the nightmare was just about to begin. Over the years, you had become used to being dependent on painkillers; otherwise, your period would kill you. Your ob-gyn had tried everything to ease the agony, but nothing worked, and contraception was out of the question. You always kept your prescription pills close by for emergencies, but not this time.
Forty-three minutes had passed, and you were already showered and dressed in fresh pyjamas. The sheets were washing, and a hot cup of chamomile tea sat on your nightstand. But the pain was creeping in, gnawing at you with every passing moment. All you wanted to do was wrap yourself in a fluffy blanket and forget about the world. You tossed and turned on the bed, but the pain persisted. At the realization that you probably wouldn't be fit to get up at 5 and get to work at all, you started panicking. How were you going to cancel the pitch?
My boss is going to fucking kill me.
Well, she might if your period doesn't kill you first. After another 20 minutes, your silent sobs turned into horrific cries from pain. And just when you thought things couldn't get worse, the familiar knock came.
Knock. Knock. You looked up and saw a hulking figure peeking through the curtains on your balcony. It was him.
You got up slowly, your feet planted on the ground as you made your way to the balcony door.
Frank knew something was wrong the moment he saw you. He could see the pain etched all over your face. Your puffy red eyes, thick, comforting blanket hugging your shoulders, and forearm holding your belly as if it offered support told him everything.
"Hey, baby girl," he said, his voice breaking as he saw you in such agony. "Is everything alright?"
You said nothing, still gazing at him, unable to process that he was really standing in front of you. His hand reached out, gently wiping away a tear from your cheek.
"Hi Frankie, uh... is something wrong? Are you hurt?" He couldn't believe your words. You were in obvious pain and still asked if he was okay. Another piece of his shattered heart glued together at the thought of your kindness.
His hand still on your cheek, he spoke again. "Nah, I just got back to the city. I drove by your buildin' and saw you were up. I figured I'd check up on ya," he said, his voice full of concern.
You cracked a smile, knowing that Frank was always looking out for you. He was the one person you could count on, no matter what.
A visible frown formed between his brows as he realized you were barely standing on your feet. Without warning, you wrapped your arms around his waist, burying your head in his chest. You were so small compared to him. He gently stroked your hair and held you tightly, feeling the heat radiating from your body. He knew something was wrong because you were never hot. He had felt your icy cold skin whenever he touched you, even during the hottest summer days. Without question, he lifted you in his arms and carried you across the room to your bed.
"Frankie, I'm cold," you said, your voice trembling.
"Shit. You might have a fever," he said, his face creased with worry. "Why you ain't wearin' no socks, baby girl?"
Usually, you would melt under his sweet nicknames, but you couldn't even blush right now. He reached for your sock drawer, pulling out the thickest and fluffiest pair of socks he could find. He gently put them on your feet, making sure they were snug.
"You take any painkillers yet?" he asked, his eyes scanning your face for any signs of relief.
You shook your head; you could barely speak at this point. Your body felt like it was being ripped apart, but you refused to give in. "I ran out of meds. Nothing I have is strong enough," you managed to say, gritting your teeth.
A loud scream left your mouth, making Frank sit beside you on the bed and instantly wrap his arms around you. He hugged you from behind, letting you weigh into him. One of his palms rested on your forehead, wiping your cold sweat from the burning skin, and the other squeezed your hand placed on your belly.
Frank's eyes narrowed as he watched you writhe in agony. "I gotcha," he said, his voice low. "Just tell me what you need."
You shook your head again, unable to focus. "Just stay," you pleaded.
"I'm not going anywhere," he whispered in your ear. "I'll take care of you."
Another hour passed. You still lay there, your body racked with pain. Frank did what he could to ease your suffering, but he knew it wasn't enough. You started to fall asleep but remembered you couldn't be late for work.
"Frankie?"
"Yeah?"
"Could you please set my alarm for 5:30 am? I can't be late; I'm pitching a new proposal to a client."
"Is that the big one you was tellin' me about last time?"
"Yeah, it's important," you mumbled again.
"I will." No, he won't. There's no chance you're going to work in such a state. When you finally fell asleep, he knew he couldn't let you go to work in the morning. He took your phone and dialled your boss's number.
You had her saved as "Your Highness," which always made Frank chuckle when you called her that.
Your boss picked up on the first ring. "Hi, it's good you're callin', the-" She started, but Frank interrupted her immediately.
"Mornin', ma'am. It's, ugh, Pete, actually. Sorry to bother you so early, but my girl won't be in today. She's, uh... under the weather," Frank said in a gruff voice.
"Oh dear, I hope she feels better soon. I was about to text her and tell her the client postponed last minute. She can take two days off; she hasn't used any sick days yet. Please give her my regards," the boss replied with concern.
"I will. She needs some rest. She'll call ya back when she can."
"Of course. Thank you for letting me know, Pete. She mentioned you a bunch of times. It's good she has someone to take care of her."
"'Course, ma'am."
Frank made one more quick phone call before he heard you moving. He rushed to you only to find you frantically searching for work clothes.
"Easy there, darlin'. Your presentation got postponed. You got two days off now."
"What? How?"
"I called your boss. Told her you were sick."
"You did what?!" You were surprised and angry.
"Relax. She said you could take your sick days. You go back to bed and get some rest."
"Really?" A huge weight just dropped off your shoulders. "Thank you, Frankie." You were relieved and grateful.
Ding. Dong.
"Who the hell is that?" you wondered aloud.
"Lemme get that. You go back to bed," Frank said, already halfway to the front door.
You were feeling better, but still in pain, so you crawled back to bed and waited for Frank.
"Who was it?" you asked, curious.
"Just a friend of mine," Frank replied as he handed you a package of pain meds. "A combat medic. He knows his way around this stuff."
"I thought you took care of the drug dealers, not became friends with them," you quipped, the first hint of humour in your voice all day.
Frank chuckled. "Anythin' for you, sweetheart."
You smiled at Frank, feeling grateful for his presence in your life.
You looked at him, trying to read his expression. "Frank, what does that mean? Anything for me?"
He hesitated for a moment as if weighing his words carefully. "It means I'll always be there for you, no matter what. I'll protect you, take care of you, and never let anythin' happen to you. You're important to me, more than you know."
You felt a warm sensation spread through your chest, and you couldn't help but smile. "You mean a lot to me too."
Your heart swelled with emotion as he leaned in and kissed you gently. "I'm not good with words, but I hope you understand," he whispered.
As Frank pulled away from the kiss, he looked at you with a tenderness that melted your heart. "You should rest," he said softly.
But you didn't want to be alone. "Will you stay with me?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course, darlin'," he replied, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You shifted over in bed, making room for Frank to join you. As he settled in next to you, you snuggled up against his chest, feeling safe and protected.
"You know," you said after a few moments of silence, "I never expected to find someone like you."
Frank tightened his arm around you. "What do you mean?"
"I mean someone willing to go to such great lengths to take care of me and protect me. Someone so kind and gentle but also so strong and fierce. You're everything I never knew I needed."
Frank's lips curved into a soft smile. "I feel the same way, darlin'. You're the one thing that makes everything worth fighting for."
You sighed contentedly, feeling more at peace than you had in a long time. As you drifted off to sleep, wrapped in Frank's arms, you knew that no matter what the future held, you and Frank would face it together.
For years, Frank had been haunted by nightmares, unable to find solace in anything. But with you by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope that he hadn't felt in ages.

A gynecologist convicted of federal sex abuse charges should face at least 25 years in prison for assaulting a "staggering number of victims" during a quarter-century career as a serial sexual predator disguised as a doctor at prestigious Manhattan hospitals, prosecutors say in court papers.
Their presentence submission in Manhattan federal court late Tuesday precedes a hearing next week when Robert Hadden's victims can deliver statements to Judge Richard M. Berman before he sentences Hadden next month.
"For decades, the defendant repeatedly leveraged his position of power to target, exploit, deceive, and sexually violate patients seeking medical care, many of whom were especially vulnerable," prosecutors wrote. "He committed serial acts of abuse against patients — all while hiding behind his power as a doctor and enjoying professional and financial success."
NY JUDGE SENDS FORMER OB-GYN ROBERT HADDEN TO JAIL, CONVICTED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING HUNDREDS OF WOMEN
Hadden, 64, of Englewood, New Jersey, was convicted in January of enticing victims to cross state lines so he could sexually abuse them. At trial, nine former patients testified.
Defense lawyers last week said in their presentence submission that Hadden should face three years in prison after not abusing anyone since he stopped practicing medicine a decade ago.
Hadden has lost 35 pounds and repeatedly been threatened with violence at a federal jail in Brooklyn, leading him to stay in his cell except to shower or call family members, the lawyers said.
At the trial, Hadden's lawyers did not dispute that he had molested patients, but they said he was already prosecuted for those crimes in state court, where Hadden pleaded guilty in 2016 to allegations that he had abused several women. That plea required him to surrender his medical license, but he served no time behind bars.
Prosecutors said in their papers that Hadden's "calculated career as a serial sexual predator" began soon after he started working in 1987 at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, which later became New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Trial evidence proved Hadden committed from 167 to 310 acts of sexual abuse or assault on dozens of patients as he honed his abuse techniques so the assaults would go undetected for over 20 years, prosecutors wrote.
They said he built rapport with victims in a private office decorated with pictures of his children and put them at ease by asking about their personal lives and talking about his family.
FORMER OB-GYN ACCUSED OF RAPING HUNDREDS HAS FACED THREATS, EXTORTION BY OTHER INMATES, ACCORDING TO LAWYERS
Eventually, he sought sexual gratification when he asked victims "detailed, inappropriate, and medically unnecessary questions and provided unsolicited advice and commentary about their bodies, pubic hair, masturbation, sexual activity, sex toys, pornography, and sexual partners," prosecutors said.
They said he devised ways to get nurses and medical assistants to leave him alone with patients in the examination room, where he pretended that he needed to "conduct a fake second exam, during which time he sexually assaulted patients."
Prosecutors said they learned that Hadden assaulted "a staggering number of victims ... under the guise of medical care."
He worked at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital until complaints about his attacks shut down his career. The institutions have agreed to pay more than $236 million to settle civil claims by more than 200 former patients.

What Is Pregnancy Nose? 3 Ob-Gyns Explain
The body changes a lot during pregnancy, from fluctuating hormones to a sometimes-hard and sometimes-soft pregnant belly. But a new social media trend is shining light on a physical change in pregnancy that has caught many people off guard: pregnancy nose. On TikTok, #PregnancyNose has more than 29 million views, with an additional 2.9 million under #PregnantNose. Each hashtag is filled with people sharing photos of what their noses looked like before they were pregnant and during pregnancy. The difference in many cases is drastic. One creator, whose username is heyosato, has more than 23 million views on their #PregnancyNose video. "I'm going to be so cute pregnant! I can't wait," the first photo caption reads. Then that image is followed up by a second photo where her nose shape is noticeably different. More recently, another user shared photos of her face after someone complimented her pregnancy nose. "Is cute in the room with us?" she captioned the video. Both videos have stirred lots of conversation on TikTok, with others sharing their experience with pregnancy nose or reacting that they've never heard of a nose changing during those nine months. So what's the truth? Is pregnancy nose real? Here's what the experts have to say. --- Experts Featured in This Article Monte Swarup, MD, is a board-certified ob-gyn in Chandler, AZ, and founder of HPD Rx. Kecia Gaither, MD, is an ob-gyn and director of perinatal services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. Lynae Brayboy, MD, is an ob-gyn and chief medical officer of Clue, a period tracker app. --- What Is Pregnancy Nose? Pregnancy nose is exactly what it sounds like: how your nose looks (and changes) while pregnant. Despite many people on TikTok being surprised by the change, your nose can be affected by a pregnancy, ob-gyn Monte Swarup, MD, tells POPSUGAR. Dr. Swarup says that pregnancy nose affects approximately 20 percent of pregnant people. Pregnancy nose is an umbrella term for changes in the nose during pregnancy, and experiences can vary. For example, some find themselves with a constant "runny nose," while others may have congestion or swelling or be more prone to a bloody nose, ob-gyn Kecia Gaither, MD, tells POPSUGAR. Why Does Pregnancy Nose Happen? The answer for why some experience pregnancy nose isn't fully understood, says ob-gyn Lynae Brayboy, MD. There are theories, however, as Dr. Brayboy points out. "There have been reports that it is a combination of high levels of hormones from the placenta and immune changes or sensitivities to allergens like dust mites," she says. As Dr. Swarup explains, the hormone level increase in pregnancy can cause blood vessels "to become dilated." As a result, there will be "more blood flow to parts of the body including the nose," which may lead to swelling and congestion. Is Pregnancy Nose a Cause For Concern? While pregnancy nose may be bothersome to some people, it's generally harmless, Dr. Brayboy says. However, some pregnant people should be aware of potential exacerbations of other medical concerns. "Any pregnant person with respiratory or breathing problems should be aware that the congestion can lead to something called post-nasal drip," Dr. Brayboy explains. And this can lead to an exacerbation of breathing issues, like an asthma attack. Also, facial swelling and swelling of the hands accompanied by blurred vision and headaches during pregnancy (particularly during the second half of pregnancy, from 20 weeks) should be flagged to a medical provider, as it can be a sign of preeclampsia, according to the Cleveland Clinic. How Is Pregnancy Nose Treated? When treating pregnancy nose, the focus will be on managing symptoms to minimize the discomfort during pregnancy. Laying on your back can make congestion worse, for example, but keeping the head of your bed elevated during sleep may help ease symptoms and help prevent interrupted sleep, Dr. Gaither says. Other treatments… https://www.popsugar.com/family/pregnancy-nose-explained-49054706?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr

Here we go again
My last post was two and a half years ago. I actually just realized that I never posted anything since being 41 weeks pregnant – I can't remember if that was on purpose (I can imagine myself not wanting to trigger anyone who's reading a fertility blog with details of a healthy baby finally appearing) or if I was so overwhelmed with having a newborn that I forgot, or if I meant to have a follow up post but didn't get around to it. Either way: I will continue to refrain from talking about the child I do have now on this blog, because it's not what I would have wanted to see when I was trying to get pregnant, but if you are curious about how things are going since then my husband and I have a podcast where we talk about it:
(That embed shows the latest episode, but you can click through to see all of them, including several about IVF/childbirth/having a newborn etc.)
Anyway, I am back here now because we have decided to try and have a second baby, which seems insane both because having one baby has been so hard but also because it would have been absolutely inconceivable (see what I did there...) to me a few years ago that I could ever have had the option to have more than one. I remember getting my "unexplained infertility" diagnosis and interpreting that as me being diagnosed with infertility (when clearly I am... not infertile). Might be good to look into calling that something else, medical community? "Unexplained pregnancy delay" perhaps? The point is, there's a difference (or at least there should be) between being diagnosed as infertile vs getting a doctor to agree that you've been trying unsuccessfully long enough that you can go ahead and get some help.
But now, we have 3 frozen (and confirmed genetically normal!) female embryos hanging out, and so we figured we might as well go for it. "In for a penny, in for a pound," my poor exhausted husband said one time when I wouldn't stop listing pros and cons of having a second. We haven't even really "decided" to try... we've just sort of waited long enough that we had to go in one direction or the other and we couldn't think of a good reason not to (and I at least really want a second kid if we can have one), so I made some calls and at some hard to define point those calls turned into a plan and now I am tentatively scheduled for an embryo transfer in January.
The plan will look something like this:
Tumblr media
But first, as always, some pre-work. I got my IUD out a couple months ago in preparation (yes, I got an IUD after giving birth, and oh boy lemme tell you did it feel weird doing anything to prevent pregnancies after so many years of trying to make them happen, but they really scare you with stories of people who get pregnant again so soon after having their first kid), had to have a couple normal cycles, and today I had to get a saline sonogram just to make sure the structure of everything is looking good.
I vaguely remembered doing one of these before my previous transfer – I just looked it up and here it is on my blog from 2020 – and recalled it being painful but pretty quick, so I went into the doctor today without much apprehension. Maybe I should have checked the blog beforehand (or maybe it's good that I didn't), because this was MUCH MORE PAINFUL THAN I REMEMBERED! And as with all lady-specific procedures, no one warned me that it would bleed afterwards but of course it did (and still is).
This one was also a bit weird because I did it with my normal OB/GYN (I've moved a few hours outside of NYC, which is going to make things... interesting), and both the doctor and the ultrasound tech kept commenting that they didn't understand why the IVF doctor was requesting this again since I'd clearly already had a successful pregnancy. One more piece of friendly advice for the medical professionals: knock it off. I can't tell you how anxious and paranoid it makes me to hear that you think I'm doing something wrong. Either you think it's the wrong thing to do (in which case you should clearly express that before I come in and help me find the right thing!!!) or you're just sort of idly expressing your curiosity out loud which believe it or not is not super helpful in this moment.
Anyway, it's fine. It's all fine. And that's really the reason I wanted to come back to this blog after 2.5 years away. It's kind of blowing my mind how different this feels compared to the first time. The procedure hurt but I didn't take it personally or like yet another slight against me from the universe. The communication and planning is confusing and annoying, but it's not stressing me out (if something goes wrong and I do this a month later... who cares?). And if the transfer doesn't work – if none of these 3 embryos work – I will of course be disappointed but I know I won't be destroyed.
If there's one piece of advice I could have given the me going through her first cycle, this would have been it: it will all be fine. If you want a kid badly enough, you can find a way to have one. Chill out and don't waste the next 3 years of your life being mad about it (because the following 3 years are gonna make you wish you enjoyed that alone time...!).
But I can't give her that advice, and I know I also can't give you that advice. Because people tried giving me that advice and I didn't want to hear it. Maybe I couldn't hear it.
So, I dunno. Here we go again.

Organized Crime Ring in Astoria, NY, in a neighborhood under the jurisdiction of 114th PRECINCT and in apartment buildings managed by CENTRAL ASTORIA, LLC. I have been the victim of TARGETED COMMUNITY HARASSMENT SINCE SUMMER 2016 because of my race and gender, I am an African American woman (because of a rumor / gossip mill started by staff at NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION while I was employed there from 2014 to 2016 I was made the victim of WORKPLACE MOBBING and TARGETED PSYCHOLOGICALHARASSMENT & TORTURE / EMOTIONAL ABUSE. Due to the illegal access and leaking of private, personal, confidential information by wiretapping / cloning / hacking of personal devices, accounts and illegal surveillance in my residence, etc. This includes leaking of confidential medical information (HPV diagnosis in 2008 (strains that can cause CERVICAL CANCER and an ABORTION I had in 2004) - ONGOING HACKING / MANIPULATION OF PERSONAL INTERNET - MONDAY, JUNE 26, 2023
In addition to the HATE CRIME element to the ongoing stalking and harassment there is a RELIGIOUS Zealotry / Nuttery / Judgmental / FUNDAMENTALISM / EXTREMISM element to my daily harassment as I am being harassed by mostly MUSLIM and LATINO people.
Based on facts / my observation, I would estimate that 9 out of 10 people harassing me on a daily basis are MUSLIM or LATINO, with MUSLIMS ranking number 1 (the majority being MEN and BOYS), MUSLIMS who appear to be from MIDDLE EASTERN / ARAB countries and countries on the ASIAN continent, such as BANGLADESH and PAKISTAN where the majority of the demographic is MUSLIM).
I am STALKED and HARASSED by WOMEN and GIRLS as well (again mostly MUSLIM and LATINO, however in lower numbers, seems to be a HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN led by MEN and BOYS, with their female counterparts ,associates, family members, etc assisting.
All of the tenants in my apartment building are involved in HARASSING ME DAILY mostly with NOISE HARASSMENT / SLEEP DEPRIVATION especially the 3 apartments surrounding my apartment. 2 of the apartments are occupied by MUSLIM TENANTS and the 3rd apartment is occupied by LATINO TENANTS.
The 3 tenants surrounding my apartment engage in DAILY NOISE HARASSMENT for obvious reasons, since our apartments share multiple walls they are the logical choice to engage in a daily NOISE HARASSMENT / SLEEP DEPRIVATION campaign because they have direct access to bang / pound / stomp / scratch on walls and ceilings (I live on the first floor), etc.
In order for them to do the realtime harassment, they have to also have VISUAL and / or AUDIO access to my RESIDENCE, as well as access to my PERSONAL INTERNET / DEVICES.
My relative's PERSONAL INTERNET, as well as my PERSONAL DEVICES have seemingly been HACKED / WIRETAPPED / CLONED, etc.
Often when I am searching the INTERNET, usually utilizing GOOGLE, the URL will include text and / or numbers, objects that reference a person, place, or thing from my life, a private / personal / confidential piece of information of a negative nature to SUBLIMINALLY / PSYCHOLOGICALLY HARASS and TORTURE.
I was searching for this specific book when after I hit the search magnifying glass the URL automatically incorporated %3A in it (3A references an apartment I lived in in BRIARWOOD, NY where I lived when I was diagnosed with HPV. This 3A reference occurs often no matter what I am searching for. 3A also references the last apartment I lived in in MIDWOOD, BROOKLYN, NY where I lived 2 1/2 years ago and had my last GYN appointment. It seems to usually be done when STALKING HARASSMENT and ABUSE is elevated / escalated especially when I am posting online, reading about something online regarding my harassment and abuse, around my period / calling attention to HPV, etc.):
MOBBING: EMOTIONAL ABUSE IN THE AMERICAN WORKPLACE
Also at exactly 2:56 PM.
56 is a number referenced often, it is referencing my FATHER. THE DAILY NOISE HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN inflicted upon me, 56 references the age my father died from CANCER. I have strains of HPV that can cause CERVICAL CANCER. (see screenshot below)
Tumblr media
The last GYN appointment I had in early 2021 I had pre-cancerous polyps removed from inside of my cervix.
Due to the WORKPLACE MOBBING, STALKING and TARGETED HARASSMENT my physical health has been in decline since 2016, after the HARASSMENT began in my community in SUMMER 2026.
In the FALL of 2016 during the time I was working at the CONTAINER STORE, in CHELSEA, MANHATTAN I had a seizure in my home. By then the HARASSMENT started from NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION had been going on since LATE 2015.
The TARGETED COMMUNITY HARASSMENT in ASTORIA, NY had been going on since SUMMER 2016.
So, not only have I been enduring daily EMOTIONAL ABUSE / STALKING / TARGETED PSYCHOLOGICAL HARASSMENT since 2015 intended to inflict emotional distress, after years that HARASSMENT is obviously going to affect the TARGET'S PHYSICAL HEALTH as well, my immune system is being compromised / suppressed by the PERPETUAL HARASSMENT.
I have a pre-existing condition which if not treated with preventative care could turn into CERVICAL CANCER not to mention other physical ailments that are popping up that were never and issue at this level for me before.
On top of this, I am being PSYCHOLOGICALLY HARASSED / STALKED and ABUSED everyday in every workplace since 2015.
NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (2014 - 2016)
THE CONTAINER STORE (2016)
NYC DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS (2017 - 2021)
I am MOBBED out of every workplace, therefore I have no money, and no health insurance, therefore no preventative healthcare to REMOVE PRE-CANCEROUS POLYPS before they have the time to GROW INTO CANCER.
I believe whomever is responsible for instigating this HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN against me knew about HPV (I believe this is the major contributing factor of why this was done to me) and they knew what would happen to me with continued HARASSMENT and no healthcare otherwise why would all of this be done. It certainly was not done to help me because that is illogical. Doing all of this stuff to somebody is to precipitate negative outcomes in every aspect of the TARGET's life.

Importance of Vagina Tightening Surgery in Manhattan And NYC
A middle-aged woman or one that has already undergone menopause may experience a host of problems with her genitalia, namely the vagina. Unfortunately, most women fail to disclose the facts associated with the problems to their doctor. It is important to take the gynecologist into confidence and reveal the nature of troubles that have been plaguing the concerned individual for a considerable period. A majority of OB/GYN professionals advise vagina tightening surgery in Manhattan and NYC to look and feel young again. Additionally, the associated problems with the bladder and other parts of the reproductive system can be addressed effectively, which guarantees bodily comfort and peace of mind. Often referred to as vaginal rejuvenation, tightening of the vaginal walls is an invasive procedure that requires surgical precision and the expertise of a professional. The reasons for undergoing this surgery are varied, but the results are almost always effective in the long run. The gynecologist will recommend vaginal tightening surgery for patients who are discomfited by the following:- · Loose, flappy skin around the vagina that interferes with normal bodily functions · Leakage of urine that causes embarrassing moments when sneezing, laughing, and moving fast · Urinary incontinence with urine being leaked constantly · Reduced libido · Dryness of the vaginal canal · Pain experienced during physical intimacy · Lack of self-esteem · Sexual dissatisfaction Types of Vagina Tightening Surgery The right procedure will depend upon the surgeon who decides to perform a certain procedure according to the need. While the purpose is tightening the vaginal muscles, methods vary depending on the core problem of the patient. One may be advised to undergo any of the following, therefore;- · Vaginoplasty- This is a standard procedure wherein the vaginal canal is repaired with the adjoining muscles tightened appreciably. It is often done after normal childbirth, especially in women who have been through multiple child deliveries par vagina · Labiaplasty-The lax and loose flaps surrounding the vagina are trimmed and repaired to restore normal functionality. · Reduction of Clitoral hood- The additional tissue over the clitoris is removed by the surgeon to improve sensitivity · Vulvoplasty- The external genitalia is reshaped to ensure uniformity and distribution of tissue · Monsplasty- Excessive fatty tissue is removed from the areas over and around the pubic bone · Perineoplasty- The tiny area between the vagina and anus is strengthened via surgery. Patients have numerous questions that must be discussed with the surgeon performing the procedure. While many believe that undergoing the muscle tightening procedure will last for a lifetime, the truth is different. It is important to accept the fact that the results will not be permanent. A surgical intervention makes the results of vagina tightening surgery in Manhattan and NYC last for an appreciably longer period. Yes! Multiple types of non-surgical alternatives address the dryness of the vagina and restore its elasticity to a degree. The repair of loose muscles and tightening of the vaginal walls need to be done surgically to ensure perfect results.

There's one name Dr. Kameelah Phillips, an OB-GYN at Calla Women's Health in New York City, would prefer not to use in her operating room: Sims.
Depending on the context, the word can mean either a surgical tool, "Sims' vaginal speculum," or its inventor, Dr. James Marion Sims. Sims is known as the founding father of gynecology, but his legacy is fraught because of how he gathered much of his learnings — by operating on enslaved Black women without their consent or anesthesia.
Today, Phillips is "reclaiming" this story, she told TODAY. She prefers to call the tool "Lucy."
Lucy was an enslaved 18-year-old who almost died after Sims operated on her, attempting to fix her postpartum urinary incontinence, according to the Journal of the National Medical Association.
Phillips recalled feeling "shocked, appalled and disappointed," when she first learned about Sims' history over 10 years ago. In that moment, she said it was "a no-brainer" to stop using his name.

Tried to rewatch the Mindy project but cannot unsee all the fucking racism… black people are basically not present in the first season or 2 (before they replaced the all white female office staff with Tamara), but are constantly joked about. "I told him you were helping a little black kid" is used as an offhand joke as a made-up excuse for why someone is late, and it's so fucking uncomfortable, especially because I don't think a single named black character had appeared up to that point in the show (I'm not even sure about extras tbh), and yet black people were a CONSTANT punchline. Really disappointing that I ever didn't notice this, but I definitely won't be watching it again.

I do not know what act of random chance allowed my wife to hear a radio ad for the clinic that performed my hysterectomy six years ago, but every single day since then I've felt like I dodged a goddamn bullet.
I'm just... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry there are so many people looking down the barrel of a gun because someone thinks they only have value as a shell around a uterus.
(Personal medical story relating to gyn care, non-graphic, below the cut. Also link to the practice, because they provide gender-affirming care and actually believe people who say there's something wrong.)
I went to the Center for Innovative GYN Care, founded by two doctors who pioneered laparoscopic, minimally-invasive hysterectomies. I walked in with a fully written medical history, a statement I'd written about what I experienced, and my wife, who was prepared to argue on my behalf as well. Because she'd seen me ask and ask and ask for intervention and never get it, and we both fully expected that I'd be told I just needed to lose weight and brushed off like usual. I'd had an MRI beforehand, but hadn't seen the results yet.
The doctor spent about five minutes with us. He walked in, introduced himself, and told me that my uterine wall had attached itself to my abdominal wall and one of my intestines, and the tissue was continuing to spread, which was what was making everything worse. He told me unfortunately, the only treatment was a hysterectomy. I assured him that fertility was not a worry for me at all- I didn't want kids, I wanted to live my life with less pain. And then he believed me, and he told me his scheduler would contact me to get me set up for surgery. Two months later, I had a hysterectomy. Outpatient. Two incisions about a centimeter long, and a few weeks of recovery, after 25 YEARS of begging for someone to believe that something was wrong.
If you're considering a surgical option to limit your fertility (I'm not suggesting you can just run out and get a hysterectomy, they offer other options), or you have a gyn issue that you haven't found relief for, I would highly recommend contacting them. They work with out-of-town patients frequently, they have multiple locations in the DC/MD/VA area and NYC, and there are similar clinics in Seattle, L.A., and SF.

medical dramas June 2021
This is the in-between month so there should be more J-dramas out next season. I watched Hospital Playlist 2 (Korean) and Night Doctor (Japanese) recently and since they're both medical, I'll talk about them together.
Hospital Playlist 2
I really loved the first season of this. For once, we get a very well constructed hospital setting with multiple specialties (the main thing lacking is physicians, which is disappointing). The protagonists are a (female!!) neurosurgeon, liver surgeon, paediatric surgeon, cardiothoracics and obs/gyn. It's also one of those rare shows that have characters peppered across all levels of training, from medical students to specialists. It's probably the best reflection of a hospital setting that you'll get, and it's also very heart-warming. That said, the characters do feel very idealised (which is why my fave is probably the irritable cardiothoracics boss) and there's not much personal growth for them in the professional setting, and the focus is more on their personal relationships. The first episode of the second season was surprisingly dreary and felt like nothing was really happening. I'm hoping it will pick up pace (and complexity) after this, because it just felt like a very long and painful introductory episode.
Night Doctor
Starring Haru, Tanaka Kei and Sawamura Ikki - it's about a hospital that changed its ED shift work schedule and now has a dedicated cohort of night shift doctors. To date I still haven't figured out how the Japanese ED system runs. The scriptwriter had also written Radiation House, which I found complete bonkers from a settings point of view, but story-wise was okay.
This is as close as a series has gotten to Code Blue in recent years (my forever med drama fave), evoking the pace and chaos and stress of ED. What sets it (positively) apart from Code Blue is having characters in different levels of training: Sawamura's character ran a NYC emergency for a few years before returning to Japan, and he has the irritable and snappy gravitas for it. Tanaka Kei and Haru are both characters with several years' experience, but are still trying to find a way to reconcile their work and their emotional well-being (probably the most important part of personal growth apart from knowledge and experience). The other 3 are junior doctors who haven't worked in ED before. The first episode also rapidly established the very different outlooks, personal motivations and flaws of all 6 major characters without making them come across as entirely tropey and unrealistic. Definitely worth a watch! And man I don't miss the passive aggressive exchanges at handovers LOL.
