Y/n sat by his front door, tying his shoe. He was gonna go on a walk today. It was a nice day afterall.

The fellow stood up, putting his hand on the knob. That was until his friend, Puppycat, walked up behind Y/n. The creature crossed his arms, making its noises.

"Where are you going?" The cat lookalike questioned.

"Im just goin' on a walk... I also have to pay rent.. I might go to the cafe close by though." Y/n responded casually, mumbling the last part. Puppycat wordlessly followed behind.

The 2 left the apartment they lived in. It's been alot more active since the new tenants moved in. Y/n has yet to speak to any of them though.

Until today that is.

Y/n and Puppycat walked around the building to the landlord's home. While walking the pair saw another guy. He was sort of tall, had green hair, and a cat mask.

"Oh that must be one of the neighbors." Y/n noted. Puppycat kept a blank face.

"He looks stupid." Puppycat mumbled, earning a look from Y/n.

The man, Y/n, and Puppycat came to the same stop. Their landlord's house. The 3 awkwardly stood there before the man started talking.

"I didn't know pets were allowed in the apartment." He chuckled. Puppycat could only let out a seemingly offended whistle. You just chuckled too.

"Oh Puppycat isn't a pet. He's kinda my… roommate?” Y/n fiddled with his hands awkwardly. "He pays rent."

The stranger tilted his head at that before he perked up, remembering something.

"Since we haven't met 'til now" He took a step back and bowed. "My name is Marvin. Marvin the Magnificent!" He established proudly.

Y/n grinned at Marvin’s… eccentric nature.

“I’m uh- Y/n!” Y/n spole, trying to mimick his tone. Marvin stood back up with a smile and shook the other’s hand. Once they were done Y/n looked at the door.

“Cardamon sure is taking his time…” he noted. That’s when the door swung open revealing a small child.

“You 2 are here to pay rent?” the boy asked tiredly.

After the pair paid they were about to go their separate ways. That was until Y/n stopped.

“Don’t ask him to come with us-” "HEY MARVIN WANNA COME WITH US TO THIS CUTE CAT CAFE?!" Y/n interrupted, waving his hand around in the air calling for him. Puppycat gave a low growl at his friend. Marvin jogged back, nodding once he was close enough to the 2.

As the 3 walked Y/n and Marvin talked about their lives. Marvin explained his profession, his brothers, and where they moved from originally. Y/n didn't let alot slip out about him. Just small stuff.

“Have you been to this cafe yet?” Marvin asked.

“I used to work there. I got fired though for uh… sleeping on the job.. I hear its under new management so thats cool!” Y/n replied, trying to hide a bit of embarrassment.

The trio arrived at the small cafe to see that it was basically empty. Besides a well dressed man sweeping. He wore a red dress shirt and a black vest.

“Oh welcome to the cafe. Go ahead and take a seat, we’ll be right with you!” He warmly welcomed them.

Marvin and Puppycat took a seat at a table while Y/n crouched by them to pet some cats.

“Minnie! This ones my fav.” Y/n told Marvin, holding up a black and white cat with rather droopy eyes.

Puppycat only glared at the animal.

After a bit of waiting a male came up to the trio. He looked similar to the man in the vest, but he had not as neat hair and wore an apron.

“My names Natepai! Can I uh- take your order?” He asked in a soft tone.
