I've been thinking about collective grief a lot. It seems that everywhere I look, people are stuck in one of the stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, and sadness are the motivations behind so much of the upheaval we're all facing daily. Most of us touch the edge of acceptance, only to get burned by another terrible thing in the news or our communities. It's difficult to imagine how we'll all heal when the challenges just keep coming. Today I'm reminding myself that this is all temporary. I'm working hard to release the things outside of my control, and holding tight to the inner knowing that pressure is how diamonds are made. 2020 has been a time unlike any other in our lives. Disillusionment, grief, and disappointment are now daily events for most of us.
