Operation: H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.

I figured that this episode should naturally follow the previous post. Whereas in Operation B.U.T.T., Number One was forced to take a break on the beach, here we finally see him relaxing in an island paradise. Of course, it's still part of the KND Jamaican leader retreat. Moreover, this episode continues to make callbacks to Nigel's large rear and preference for Rainbow Monkey Underwear.

In fact overall, I like how so many disparate aspects of the show play a role in a relatively simple episode. We get more of Nigel and Lizzie's ongoing dysfunctional relationship, of side characters in the KND -- particularly Numhuh 10 and Numbuh 1 Love --and various plot elements from other episodes -- like the Hamsters and Nurse Claiborne's Apple Crumbles.

Also as a side note, we get a pan shot of the exterior of the Jamaican treehouse in Operation I.T.

I wonder in your Teen au what has Numbuh 10 been up to when Nigel returned

She was decommissioned after turning 13, so she didn't remember anything about KND or Nigel (he was already with the GKND when that happened). But Monty and his wife would visit often, so she at least knew who he was.

When they passed away, even if she didn't remember about Nigel, she felt a strong connection with him when they met again, and was by his side all day before the funeral.

Her and her family were about to step forward and take care of the kid... but since they lived in another State it took more than they expected to even have their request being taken into consideration.

And so Father arrived and got full custody.

She never liked the man, no matter what.

In the teen AU, she still has contacts with Nigel and sometimes she visits him to pass time together and keep him company. They usually stay at home and watch bad movies to have a laugh. Nice times.

Also yes, I totally was inspired by @socksandbuttons's Numbuh 10 design since I got this cute pic that time so AHA! Sorry Alex...

Weird headcanon that I have for the Uno family

There is this headcanon I have for the Uno family's powers and how thay work.

Basically the Uno family grows stronger every generation even if it skips a generation.

I based off this headcanon over the 4 fundamental states of matter

+ @fallen-gabrielle's berserker au(where Monty Uno has lightning powers)

Solid, liquid, gas and plasma. The states of matter change depending on how much thermal energy a particle has.

And the thermal energy is highest in plasma and lowest in solids.

Solid < Liquid < Gas < Plasma

So I based my headcanon on the 4 fundamental states of matter and that the thermal energy in the Uno family's power increases every generation.

Grandfather, the first of the generation has control over gas-like substances and limited control over fire.

Whlie Father, the next in the generation has full control over over fire(Fire is kind of a between state of gas and plasma. it isn't hot enough to break apart atoms completely. Correct me if I am wrong I am no scientist)

So in my headcanon, Nigel(Numbuh 1) and Numbuh 10(Nigel's cousin) can control lightning(Lightening is a form of plasma).

But the powers grow more unstable as it is powerful. So Nigel and Numbuh 10 are tickling time bombs.

Anyhow- so this is my headcanon! What are your headcanons for the Uno family?

And another thing, how did you come up with the idea of Numbuh 60 and Numbuh 10 having this interesting dynamic together? Their unlikely frenemy thing has surprisingly been fun to read, especially in your other fic where Wally got to play detective too.

Numbuh 10 and Numbuh 60 were characters I enjoyed, and I wanted to do more with them. Soooo, I decided randomly to mash them together to see if something could be done with it.

Numbuh 10 is the leader of a sector that deals with news/tv/broadcasting and known as the “Prettiest Operative”, so vanity was a theme to play with. But life isn’t black and white! Her assertiveness and boldness can come off as antagonistic, but I never once saw or intended to write her as an antagonist. That would’ve been too easy.

She is Nigel if Nigel never lost that “really cool hair” of his. And if you gave him his own half hour of airtime.

And I threw Patton in there because Patton is cool and fun! But he’s written/headcanoned being close or associated with the “Mooncrew.” I wanted to explore his development when in close proximity of another minor character that wasn’t Rachel, Fanny, or anyone from the Moonbase. The Arctic Base is on Earth, so Numbuh 10 opened up a way to explore his connections on Earth, which I feel he is closer with.

Patton is obviously some sort of military kid with all that doctrine drilled into him. He has a cheeky side we briefly see in CANYON but with Rachel and Fanny outranking him and being his “superiors” there’s a subconscious barrier of rank that holds him back.

However, Patton is on the same level as Earth sector leaders. That allows him to open up in ways he just can’t with Moonbase.

10 and 60 are books with set covers! One is a pretty girl that everything comes easy too, and the other is the no-nonsense drill sergeant who will make you run laps around the Arctic Base. They’re both judged by their covers!

And they both hate that. And with that commonality is a dynamic that can be explored.
