Hello 👋,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Aziz, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea to help my family find safety and reunite with our mother. 😞
The ongoing war in Gaza has torn my family apart. My mother and newborn sister are stranded in Egypt, while I, along with the rest of my sex family members, am trapped in the midst of the genocide in Gaza. We have not only been separated but have also lost our home and are enduring unimaginable hardships. 💔
Your support can make a difference. Whether by reading our story, donating, or sharing our campaign with others, you can help us reunite, find safety, and start anew. 🙏
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for your kindness, compassion, and solidarity during this difficult time. ❤🍉

Hey! It’s me again (your new fan of smth, anyway). I really enjoy your small posts and saw the one abt chatty mood so.
I see so many fandoms on your page. Do you maybe have a list of your personal loved characters, like your all time favourites?
If you don't wanna answer it's fine, I don’t want to burden you anyhow. I just felt like getting to know a writer that I like and who is a tad bit more active.
idk if you're prepared for the can of worms you've just opened, but considering you asked, I'll try not to hold back. I've got my top 5, plus a few honorable mentions - just for you <3
HONERABLE MENTIONS;
Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan) - I had such a phase for a while (one that lasted about 25 fic oneshots). As with most, he was the reason I got into aot in the first place. The rest is history.
Poe Dameron (Star Wars) - Again, huge phase (14 fics long this time). What can I say, I really liked that spunky pilot.
Thorin Oakenshield (The Hobbit) - Proud owner of my longest fic series (both in word count length, and how long it's taken to write - I started it in hish school, and I've been out of school for four years now. smh.)
Kenny Ackerman (Attack on Titan) - Like nephew, like uncle. I just think he's sexy.
Number 5 spot is held by our one and only BMI hero - Taishiro Toyomitsu! (My Hero Academia) (art by @/fittsythesnail)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just think he's neat LOL. He's so soft, and he makes me so happy - tbh he's such an underrated fave of mine. He'd make sure I was always well fed, not just full but full of good food - something I often lack. He's very loverboy coded to me <3
Number 4 spot is taken by - Ser Harwin Strong! (House of the Dragon) (art by me)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harwin is running in circles in my mind right now. He's the only selfship I've got with such an intense storyline. idk if it's something you can get behind, but hey if not you might be by the time I'm finally able to write anything for him.
Number three is our commander - Erwin Smith! (Attack on Titan) (art by @/veggiebr0th + @/54prowl)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erwin is probably the character that's truly stood on this list the longest. And hardest. I love him a lot. Probably too much. I definitely find writing for him fun, especially when it comes to darker, grittier themes.
The newest character on this list takes out spot Number 2, no doubt aided by how fresh the love is - Kyojuro Rengoku! (Demon Slayer) (art by @/fittsythesnail)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What can I say. He set my hear ablaze.
And our last spot, Number 1, is taken by the one and only - Arthur Morgan! (Red Dead Redemption 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just love him so so so much. So much that I can never sit down and write anything I'm happy enough with to publish. I hate how I can't write anything for him, because that mean's I can't really enter the community - ik it's not the only way, but it's the way I know best. WHICH THEN MEANS I can't really make mutuals to talk to. ABOUT HIM. Honestly that might not be a bad thing, because I probably wouldn't shut up.

1-4
(It seems that the show was ending, since both boys made a gesture of... introducing someone?) Yoru and Enko: Ladies and gentlemen, Kaito, the crafty, and our ice queen, Kumiko! (The whole space went dark, the show started with blue lights and the dry ice did its thing as if it were smoke… one of the spotlights pointed upwards, there was a fairly tall boy with a fairly worked body, in addition to being visibly tattooed, and although he still had his mask on, he was apparently quite attractive) (As the music started, Kaito threw himself into the void towards a net, and while he did his thing, the boys who were in the last number threw the girl, who was also wearing a kitsune mask, into the air in an elegant way, joining the boy)
Uzui: (He was very excited when he admired their coordination) Wow, what a flamboyant show! Rengoku: Yes, is a pretty elegant how her little body flew in the air Ren: It wasn't even a flea... Obanai: Are you still here? Ren:(Behind the mask) ... Yup. Shinazugawa: Didn't you have left? How annoying you are... Ren: At least I don't have the misfortune of having the face of a mad dog (his tone was mock) Shinazugawa: Excuse me? What did you said? Tsubame: Hey, hey, what's going on here? Rengoku: Wow, are you an illusionist too? Obanai: How long have you been here, monkey girl? Tsubame: Oh, sorry, can't you think of a better nickname or insult? (she crouched down and stood intimidatingly in front of the group, she was even taller than Sanemi) Can't you, snake boy? Uzui: Are you always that intimidating, girl? You are going to scare away every suitor you have Tsubame: Men? Marriage? (chuckled) I couldn't give a shit more about men and even more so about marrying one… between us, I don't play for that team (it was the first time she lowered her mask a little… she had beautiful violet eyes for such a girl intimidating) now, enjoy the rest of the show… oh, and don't think we don't know their uniforms… (she the mask back on as she pirouetted away, that was the end of that conversation between them) Ren: If I was you, I would listen to her, bye again ~ (he left as he pirouetted away, too) Rengoku: (in a serious tone) What she wanted to say about our uniforms? Obanai: The Demon Slayers Corps is a secret organization not recognized by the state... How they know? Uzui: She is just bothering us... Just enjoy the show, right, Sanemi? Eh? Sanemi? (After Tsubame and Ren had left them, Sanemi's attention was focused on the show and for the first time he was genuinely interested, watching how both boys did pirouettes in the air, the coordination, the elegance… the girl had now The kitsune mask was removed, but as in other previous cases, her face was not completely visible, but she had blue eyes like the sky, almost turquoise. Her blonde braids also moved with the movement of her jumps and she apparently had a fairly large tattoo although we couldn't see what it was.) Uzui: Hey, is a gorgeous girl... is the first time in a long time that I think a girl can be genuinely is beautiful, after my wives, of course Obanai: I don't know, I don't care... Rengoku: Mmm her eyes sounds me familiar... but whatever, I support Tengen's opinion Obanai: But you don't have any wive... Rengoku: I don't care, I support him too (Sanemi was concentrated watching the show. Kumiko and Kaito were holding on to some hoops, there were also fabrics hanging, and they were jumping from position to position. She had lowered the scarf that was covering her mouth, but now she had taken out a pair of fans and covered herself with them, giving a somewhat flirtatious but beautiful show at the same time) Person 1: How beautiful she is... Person 2: Yes, but had you already seen him? How attractive he is~ (Kaito was like the second or third person, after the fire girl and the strong giant, to fully show his face, in fact, he not only had a good body, but he was also an attractive young man with white hair and amber eyes. From time to time, he would cast a flirtatious glance at a pretty girl in the audience)
Person 3: She is an angel~ Person 4: He is probably a heartbreaker, but he is still handsome as hell~ Person 5: I would like to sleep with her... (It was a rather dirty comment for the taste of some who were there, it was the same man who got upset with Tsubame, and although the Hashiras were not close to him at that time, Ren was back at his side and for the first time in all the show that his passage was a bit gloomy. The show continued and it was a quite impressive acrobat act) (In the middle of the acrobatics, both Kaito and Kumiko got a little closer to the audience, each one on their own… and at one point Kumiko approached the Hashiras, staring Sanemi in the eyes, taking the fan out of her face… sure enough, it was a beautiful girl, and time had frozen for a few seconds when they exchanged glances)

Do we know which pillars had final selection together? Like Giyuu and Murata did it together, and possibly The Kocho sisters went through it together. Mitsuri or Obanai were probably the last ones out of the 9 to finish it. What do you think?
Come with me, Anon. You've unlocked an attempted timeline. Watch your step, it may get dark down here. Ultimately, I've done a lot of guesswork, but we're going to weave our way through each Pillar. I'd like to open this post by declaring this spread a lie:
Tumblr media
A brief key: Corp ranks: From lowest to highest: Mizunoto -> Mizunoe -> Kanoto -> Kanoe -> Tsuchinoto -> Tsuchinoe -> Hinoto -> Hinoe -> Kinoto -> Kinoe Pillar criteria: 1. Be the strongest user of your Breath (this is perhaps implied) AND 2. Defeat one of the Twelve Moons OR 3. Defeat at least 50 demons and be of the Kinoe (10th of 10) rank. Commentary on the timing of both here. Abbreviations on references: Chapter and number: C# Fanbook 1(published July 2019): FB1 Fanbook 2 (published February 2021): FB2 Light novels (of which there are three so far with fan translations very kindly provided here): LN Tomioka & Rengoku Gaiden manga by Ryoji Hirano (compiled December 2020, though the Tomioka Gaiden was written earlier): GD A note on timing: based on the Hand Demon's comments and some seasonal indicators, my unofficial but best guess for Tanjirou's Final Selection is early 1915, and I'll be using that as a loose frame of reference. Please note that 1915 has never been expressly noted in canon material. Calculation of ages will also be kept somewhat loose and simple, and calculation of canon events and seasons are my best attempts at consistency.
Also, I have found no indication of how often the Final Selection is held, but given the number of Corp members and how quickly they get killed off, I have to work with the possibility that it happens multiple times a year. That makes the likelihood of Pillars having done it at the same time a bit lower. However, Giyuu says multiple times “that year’s Final Selection” (C130), which does make it seem limiting, so it could be that Tanjirou’s group really was a small batch. A note on sources: This post will rely heavily on GD details, but it is worth noting that the GD must be taken with cautious consideration. While Gotouge might have given general approval on a lot of it, some little details are directly incongruent with canon (for example, see my note on this translation post about the Rengoku hair color confusion). One more note: in my scribbled notes I referred to life changing traumatic events as “The Big Sad.” That is funny so I shall avail myself of the same shorthand here.
Himejima Gyoumei: The Big Sad occurs when he is 18 (by my calculations, 1906), he meets Oyakata-sama when he is age 14 and not yet showing signs of illness (C135, C139). Unclear how quickly he underwent the Final Selection, but he became a Hashira at age 19 (C138), but he rescued the Kochou sisters and sent them on their training way (LN). Shinobu had to have been 11 at the oldest (I assume). Unclear when and how he’d have learned Rock Breathing, a long established Breath technique. (Side note: Amane might had been expecting quintuplets when Kagaya trotted off to go save a gentle giant in jail.)
Uzui Tengen: For reference, he is the same age as Oyakata-sama. He left the ninja at age 15 (1907) (mentioned in C87 with somewhat unclear wording, clarified in FB1 that it was when Tengen was age 15), and seems he’d have met Oyataka-sama upon becoming a Pillar not long after passing the Final Selection, which was probably a breeze for him. They might had been age 15 or 16 at the time, making this 1907 or 1908, I find 1908 more likely because it takes place in cherry blossom season (C87). See more on my attempted Uzui timeline here.
Tomioka Giyuu: If it wasn’t just that he met Sabito at age 13 (C130) but that he also went through the Final Selection with him (and Murata, C185) at that age, then he did it in 1907. If we assume a year of training, then 1908 at age 14. As Murata doesn’t seem to show the same kinship for Uzui, I assume the timing was not at the same time, but if the Final Selection was limited to one year, then it’s possible Uzui was there and just didn’t cross paths with anyone, because ninja. It’s unclear how long Giyuu was in the Corp before becoming a Pillar, but at least by 1911, the year Kanae died, as they are seen together at a meeting (C168).
Kochou Kanae, Kochou Shinobu: The biggest clues we have to work with are that Kanae was 17 when she died, and Shinobu was 14 at that time (Taisho Secret, C162). They started training at the same time (LN) (1806 at the very earliest, based on Himejima’s career path, which would put them at ages 9 and 12, or possibly 1807, at ages 10 and 13). If we assume a year of training each, then they very well may have done the Final Selection together either 1907 (ages 10 and 13) or 1908 (ages 11 and 14). This does double them up a bit with Giyuu and Sanemi (perhaps), but even if we assume only one Final Selection per year, they didn’t make much of an impression on each other. It’s also possible Kanae finished her training earlier than Shinobu did (under a separate cultivator Himejima introduced, LN), for she was very quick to rise to the rank of a Pillar, seeing as she’d have died by 1911. As we don’t have specific timing on Sanemi (see below) and don’t know that she was a Pillar by the time of her appearance in Sanemi’s backstory chapter of the LN, it’s hard to pin down the timing any more than that. Shinobu would had become a Pillar by 1913, age 16 (GD). We can also use all this to surmise more timing about the other Butterfly Mansion girls. Aoi, Kanao, Kiyo, Sumi, and Naho were all present before Kanae’s death (C163). Kanao would had been brought in sometime between 1908 and 1911 (age 9~13, likely on the earlier end given the more stark height difference from short Shinobu, extra chapter Volume 7), and Aoi was already there (Taisho Secrets C162, FB2). Aoi, despite having lived with the Kochou sisters so long, was a Water Breath user (FB2), and this is far before she’d have gone to the Final Selection, so I assume she was living there and commuting to her cultivator, which is why it may had taken her extra time to complete her training. With this being an arrangement instead of an adoption, that’s perhaps part of why Kanao was considered a sister while Aoi was not. More interpretation of all of this on an attempted timeline of Shinobu’s life, and an attempted timeline of Aoi's Corp involvement.
Shinazugawa Sanemi: Unclear when The Big Sad occurred and how long he was on his own before Masachika found him and set him up with a cultivator. Unless I missed something, neither Sanemi nor Genya’s flashbacks provided an estimate on timing. Since a lot of Big Sad Stuff occurs when the characters are 13, I used that as a frame of reference, putting it around 1907 (Genya would be age 8). That gives Sanemi time to wonder around and build a reputation for himself as that kid stringing up demons without Nichirin weapons, to learn Breath under a cultivator, enter the Final Selection (maybe around 1908?), and do things on his own a while before his first encounter with the more experienced Kanae and reunion with Masachika (LN), who we don’t have ages for, but I’ll assume he’s 1~3 years older than Sanemi. They got a rocky start and Sanemi would have required time to build a friendship and then reach Kinoe rank at the same time before taking on Upper Moon 1 (LN, C168). Since Kanae, who is the same age as Sanemi, is a Pillar by this time, I’m going to guess he’s around age 16 or 17 (1910~1911, in which case, Kanae is soon to die after he joins the Pillar ranks. Himejima would have needed a little time to observe them together (FB2), but this didn’t necessarily have to be when they were both Pillars) (C168). Plus, Sanemi has already gotten to know a whole lot of dead Corp members by this time and has grown a touch cynical about the Corp (C168). By this time, Oyakata-sama is about 18~19 years old, and his illness has progressed somewhat dramatically between this and Uzui’s flashback. He can still see out of one eye, and Kiriya is with him, age 3~5ish. I’d place him closer to 5, because he looks too tall to be a 3-year-old (C168).
Rengoku Kyoujurou: We can only guess how old he was when Ruka died, but for reference, if assume Senjurou is around 13 in 1915 (based on him being a 1st year junior high school student in the Kimetsu Academy AU as stated in Volume 9), he needs to have been both old enough to have waved a wooden sword around in the yard with daddy as well as fall asleep at mommy’s futon and not have many memories of her. Shall we say, age 4 or so? Putting Kyoujurou at age 11-ish? 1906-ish? Actually, based on the Rengoku Vol. 0 chapter about Kyoujurou’s Final Selection and First Mission, I might put it slightly earlier than that, because the kid needed to hit his growth spurt. But, I do believe that the happy flashback of Shinjurou takes place while Ruka is still alive, as Kyoujurou states that Shinjurou started to change after Ruka’s death (GD). In Rengoku Vol. 0, Shinjurou is still attempting his Pillar duties, but with a lot of cynicism, and he’s already telling Kyoujurou that neither he nor Senjurou will ever be any good. 13 seems like a pretty average age for joining the Final Selection, if we assume this is the case, then it would had been around 1908, making Senjurou around age 6. We could even give it an extra year and still be safe, I think (putting it at 1909, though I supposed I put Sanemi around 1908 for a Final Selection too, though it doesn’t seem they’d have encountered or had much recollection of each other. This is kind of making me lean 1909.) Kyoujurou trained Mitsuri for six months before he became a Pillar (GD), and she didn’t take up the sword until she was 17 in 1913 (C123). Seasonal indicators in Mitsuri’s kimono (C123) suggest that her matchmaking fiasco took place in spring, suggesting that Kyoujurou became a Pillar around autumn/early winter 1913 at age 18. That means he took a more average amount of time to become a Pillar, and Shinjurou dwindled a long time before before just plain giving up.
Iguro Obanai: He was rescued by Shinjuro in 1906, when he was 12 (C188). This would had been right before Ruka was dying or shortly after it, when Shinjuro was still making himself go to far away locations (Obanai was on Hachijo Island, a pretty fair distance away, FB1). Frankly, Obanai probably wasn’t the strongest it, and it likely took him a while to gain enough strength to survive the Final Selection, but he’d likely have been very motivated to do so. Since it five years is the average amount of time it takes to become a Pillar (Taisho Secret, C91), I feel comfortable assuming he became a Pillar by no later than spring 1914 (later than Kyoujurou, comfortably earlier than Mitsuri (C124), long enough to develop a good rapport with Sanemi and even Uzui (FB2)), and may have passed the Final Selection around 1909 or 1910, around age 15~16.
Tokitou Muichirou: The Big Sad was in summer 1912, when he was 11 (C118). The big question on my mind is how long he was in recovery before picking up the sword, because he became a Pillar within 2 months of that time (C87)—not from the Final Selection, from picking up the sword, because he is that much of a genius. That must had been a super, super busy two months. However, we also know it couldn’t have been that soon because he’s not pictured among the Pillars in late 1913, when Kyoujurou attends a Pillar meeting in Shinjurou’s stead (GD). It’s also implied that Kyoujurou is his senior, not his junior (C122). We also know it couldn’t have been that recent either, because of Muichirou’s established relationship with Tetsuido, his former swordsmith (C119). It’s implied that Muichirou asked for a lot of new swords, and Tetsuido would have had time to observe his wear and tear (that had to have been a lot for how many demons he must had gone through in only a two-month period). It’s not clear how often Muichirou has gone to the Swordsmith Village personally, but based on the falling maple leaves in the flashback, by guess is that he last saw Tetsuido in late 1914 (other seasonal indicators put the Swordsmith Village arc at around early~mid autumn, 1915, when Kanamori is taking over for Tetsuido on Muichirou’s newest sword request). So, this places Muichirou becoming a Pillar anytime between late 1913 and mid-1914. There’s no indication whether he or Iguro became a Pillar first, but since Iguro sees him a child and therefore somewhat sympathetically hopes he doesn’t die (FB2), I’d like to think Iguro was prior. The second fanbook also makes note that Muichirou hasn't been a Pillar very long so his impression of the others is more shallow, so this also makes it seem he was the most recent addition. We know for certain that Muichirou and Aoi were at the Final Selection at the same time (FB2). If we assume Aoi is the same age as Kanao, making her around 14~15 when she entered the Final Selection, and also meaning she spent 3~6 years as a Butterfly Mansion resident before taking part in the Final Selection. There is, again, the matter of what Muichirou was doing for at least 1.5~2 years before picking up the sword. Were his injuries really that severe? Was he comatose (or close enough to that state)? What I think is that, since his body “remembered the anger” and he worked hard enough at strengthening himself to cough up blood, he focused on physical conditioning and using a wooden blade before taking up a real sword, and the new bandages (and muscles) were due to intense physical training (C121).
Kanroji Mitsuri: As previously mentioned, failed matchmaking and starvation seems to have occurred in spring 1913 (C123), I’m assuming she passed the Final Selection by autumn-ish that year. Since the Pillar meeting in early 1915 (where she meets Tanjirou) doesn’t seem to be her first Pillar Meeting (C45~46), I’m assuming it was only her second one or third on (putting her first Pillar Meeting around spring or autumn 1914). No particular seasonal indicators stick out about her flashback to meeting Oyakata-sama, but his illness seems to have progressed to roughly the same as Muichirou remembers (C118, C124). Muichirou, however, probably met Oyakata-sama on multiple occasions before becoming a Pillar, but he might not have as clear a recollection of his face from when he was in recovery. There’s slightly more progression of the illness at the Pillar Meeting when Tanjirou meets Oyakata-sama (C46), but not a dramatic amount. Still, it is unclear who is the most recent Pillar, whether it is Mitsuri or Muichirou (we just know Iguro was before Mitsuri).
So. That spread I said is a lie? Because it made a nice wrap-up and that chapter was released well before the KnY manga even ended, I don’t blame Hirano-sensei or the editors for not catching it. Still, it’s a lie because Giyuu is saying those lines to Shinobu in early 1913, when four of those “nine” Pillars he mentions aren’t yet Pillars. *drops mic*

     ᴠᴇʀsᴇ. kyojuro. my hero academia.
strength is not a word that means much in regard to the flesh.
The Blazing Hero: Rengoku      Quirk: Purgatory Flame
Kyojuro’s Quirk, Purgatory Flame, is an extremely powerful pyrokinetic quirk that has gained him notoriety as the Endeavor of the East. While Kyojuro doesn’t necessarily approve of Endeavor, believing a Hero should smile like All Might, he is honored to be compared to the Number 1 Hero (or Number 2 Hero, depending on timeline). Their Quirks work very similarly to one another, though Kyojuro does not display his in the same manner that Endeavor does to show his power. On the other hand he does summon his flames when he becomes excited, which is... quite often. He relies heavily on the speed and heavy hitting power of his Quirk as he tends to burn out after using too many large attacks.
He is currently the History teacher at Shiketsu Academy, and while he considered following in his father’s footsteps as a solely Pro Hero, after Shinjuro drove his Hero Agency into the ground after the loss of Ruka Kyojuro made it a point to help guide the newer generation of Heroes along side him. He can still be seen going on patrols and freely speaks with fans and the press. His goal is only to protect those that he can and inspire others to do the same.
     Notes:
Kyojuro regularly gets requests to join Agencies across Japan, but politely declines all of them. His loyalty lies with the students and fellow staff of Shiketsu.
No idea what his costume is yet. (Soon.)
His Ultimate Move is called Purgatory, after his namesake. It takes the form of a massive flame dragon that surrounds Kyojuro as he blasts toward his target.
He’s never actually met Endeavor, but would like to in the future!

Rengoku Perfume? Review of Primaniacs Demon Slayer collaboration
Ok, so being a Rengoku fan, I ordered this fragrance from Japan. It’s designed and sold by Primaniacs, who have done a lot of different anime-inspired fragrance lines over the years.
I wasn’t able to find too many English language reviews for what this fragrance is like, so I thought I’d write one for my fellow English-speaking Demon Slayer fans.
_____________________________
Also, to preface, I am not sure how to recommend you to buy this if you want it. For as much hype as these fragrances get on the English language channels, they’re notoriously hard to get. Most third party forwarding services won’t ship liquids overseas. I ended up buying this off eBay, but I think I paid about twice as much as the actual item costs if I purchased it in a boutique in Japan. (I really wanted to smell it!!!)
First, here’s what it looks like:
Tumblr media
Captured alongside some of the vestiges of my normie life, you can’t even tell I’m a huge weeb after dark. +1 for discreet aesthetic packaging.
I’ll translate how Primaniacs markets this product on their website, summarize some of the Japanese language reviews I read on it before purchasing, and share my personal thoughts about it, both sprayed onto a surface and on my skin.
Text from the website:
Like the burning red flame that dwells within his body, this fragrance spurs you forward in pursuit of your own justice.
Vigorous and lively labdanum spreads straight ahead for a scent that bursts forth and overflows with heat.
Reminiscent of his unwavering convictions, the aroma of spices billows up with great force.
A subdued astringency and bitterness come through in turns, illuminating the darkness in a noble way.
This fragrance holds a bright glow, like the undying hope lit in his eyes.
Notes:
TOP:Orange, Lemon, Labdanum MIDDLE:Coriander, Cardamom, Jasmine, Lavender LAST:Vetiver, Pine Tree, Amber, Musk
Other customers’ impressions:
I read some Amazon.co.jp reviews on this before purchasing and there were lots of recommendations for dosage and a large number of folks spraying this on their pillows. Only a couple of people were actually wearing this on a semi-regular basis.
“My family really hated it but I love it!” (my imagination conjured a teenage girl wearing this)
“Someone said this smells like the perfume you can get from Don Quixote.” (indicating a mainstream scent)
“I can’t imagine twenty-year-old Rengoku wearing this. It’s grown-up.”
“A surprisingly clean scent, it kind of smells like the Sauvage EDP from Dior.”
“It’s wonderful when you wear it to bed and wake up in the morning with the residual fragrance on your skin.”
There were a lot of other reviews and also many reviews on the Primaniacs site, but they didn’t give me a strong impression of what this fragrance is really like, so I didn’t include them. Several people felt that it was accurate to the character, though, which is nice.
My impressions:
I usually buy unisex fragrances and I purchased this with the expectation that it wouldn’t suit me. I don’t mind something masculine-leaning, but the notes pointed to a light, fougere sort of vibe and I just don’t prefer those.
Nevertheless, I really wanted to know what this smells like and I’ll splurge on perfumes sometimes, so I bought it.
This fragrance was vastly different on my skin versus sprayed on a surface. I really liked it a lot more worn on the skin.
On an index card (if you were to spray this on a surface or use to fragrance your room):
I sprayed it on an index card first and on the initial spray, it’s a fresh, clean scent. It has a little soapiness to it right away. It smells exactly like my husband after he gets out of the shower. The scent of a recently washed man.
After about another minute, you start getting citruses and the combination of the citruses and labdanum is highly nostalgic, but I’m afraid I can’t place it. It’s shaping up to be a fragrance that is designed for mass appeal, which is fine. The labdanum fades out of the top notes quickly, leaving citrus behind, and it doesn’t leave a distinct impression, quickly giving way to an astringent scent.
About five minutes in, you start getting something kind of sweet in there, which I am guessing are the floral middle notes. There’s something very slightly cloying that develops, and the smell of sunscreen lotion.
The lighter notes evaporate away after several minutes; the soap is left behind. There is something enduringly soapy about this fragrance, though soap is not listed as a fragrance note. So far, I haven’t perceived anything deep or dark about this. Something I saw repeated in the reviews was that this is a pheromonal, masculine fragrance, but this isn’t my definition of that. When I smelled it from the atomizer, I said out loud, “smells like teen spirit!” Hahaha.
About fifteen minutes in, you get some pretty faint spices and the soap finally starts to fade out a little (or I could just be imagining it because I’ve sniffed this index card about 75 times in the last fifteen minutes and just got used to it). Not peppery, more sweet. I’m hoping that the scent lasts long enough on the paper to find out what this will be like if I stuck it in my handbag for a while.
After about 20 minutes, you get a light, sweet musk coming through. So far, no sign of the pine or vetiver. Overall, the brightness has finally died down (along with the soap) and you have a relatively simple, light base.
Sprayed on paper, this reminds me a little bit of At The Barber’s by Maison Margiela, though I’ll note that I did not purchase that fragrance because the sample wasn’t for me. It’s versatile, clean, and fine for everyday use in small amounts.
Someone said they couldn’t imagine twenty-year-old Rengoku smelling like this, but I’d actually disagree. I think it would be appropriate for a twenty-year-old man to smell like this. Altogether, it’s a pleasant, slightly uninteresting fragrance. I probably would not buy this off a counter, only having smelled it briefly. That’s a personal preference. Labdanum and amber notes were barely present when sprayed on a card. However, it was a different story on the skin entirely.
Wearing on the skin:
Fragrances smell a bit different depending on the person, so these are just my impressions. You may have different results.
I applied this to my throat, nape, and wrist. Usually, I’d just do the nape, but wanted to get a strong impression of how this wears.
Immediate labdanum. A sweetish, slightly herbal smell came through immediately, with a hay-like impression of chamomile. Citruses evaporated right away. The soap smell was much lighter and there was a pleasant warmth there.
Pretty quickly, you start getting the spices and it combines back in with an interesting bitter citrus that faded out on the initial spray. It reminded me of herbal tea. The labdanum and spices came through much better on the skin. On the index card, these notes barely appeared, so I was skeptical.
It stayed like this for a while, a kind of lightly spicy sweetness. The sweetness never comes across as sugary, more floral and natural. While my general impression at this point is “spicy and sweet,” the idea of food never occurs. Again, a bit like herbal tea.
For a moment, this starts to meander into the sweaty realm. The spices really start to unfold after about twenty minutes and muskiness starts to come through. There is a slight sunscreen vibe there. It’s definitely very warm the whole way through. Spices die down in about 40 minutes and shift into a slightly astringent smell that I’m not totally into. Instead of giving it a fresh or mature vibe, it’s blending with a residual cloying sweetness (on closer inspection, I think it’s jasmine), hanging out in my sinuses and threatening a headache. There is no residual fragrance of soap.
Base notes are relatively true to form. Oddly, after about an hour, the soap popped back in to say hi for a few minutes, and then I finally started getting the pine and vetiver. An herbal note became evident and it settled further into a slight smokiness, very faint.
Fully dried and left to its own devices, there’s a distinct Japanese vibe here that I can’t fully place. When the musk goes into the background of the vetiver and pine, it really comes out.
Last thoughts:
For the first hour, I have the impression that we are discussing what Rengoku is like as a character. But after all of that has gone away and you’re left wearing the base of this perfume, it’s not at all bad. The thought that comes to mind is that this is what you smelled on the inside of the clothes of the man you love.
I’ll probably spray this in the winter and if I’m sad. It’s warm and overall makes me think of being out in the sun. It’s sweet, warm, and comfortably fragrant. It could be worn whenever/wherever you’d like.
Longevity isn’t great, about two hours. I applied before bed and did not perceive it when I woke up. The fragrance does not project and there is not much sillage (residual trail); my husband wasn’t able to smell it even though he was next to me in bed. This is a fragrance for you to enjoy yourself and I think it’s appropriate for younger people or folks just getting into wearing fragrance. I’d guess this is an eau de toilette instead of an eau de parfum due to the low longevity and limited sillage (slightly stronger than a body spray).
Do I think this smells like Rengoku? I think it smells like various elements you think of when considering his character traits and design. I don’t think he would smell like this if he were a real life person, but that’s dangerous territory to consider. :)
Anyway, thanks for reading this block of text. Hope this satisfies your curiosity! If you have any other questions about it, you can submit an ask.

12pm, Saturday, Shinjuku Station
This was also posted on ao3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/21695521
"Tomorrow!" Rengoku all but shouts by way of greeting. You turn to him, trying to look less shocked than you felt. Around you, the milling students show signs at having jolted at the history teacher's boisterous voice.
The late afternoon light streaming in through the corridor window bathes Rengoku in a deep gold that only strives to make him look even larger than life. The man himself was wearing his signature manic grin, sonic eyes focused on you.
He looked oddly out of place in the quiet school corridor, too vibrant for the tired air of students dragging their feet home from supplementary classes.
Before you are given the chance to answer, he continues. "Meet me at Shinjuku station! At 12pm! See you there!" Apparently having said his piece, he strides off past you, neither waiting for your response, nor looking back even once.
You watch him power walk away, stopping only to greet the students who call out to him as he goes.
What.
After standing there for long enough for your shocked brain to catch up with the rest of your limbs, you headed down the hallway after Rengoku. Upon reaching the staff room, you learn from a suspiciously animated Uzui that the man had already gone home. Resigning yourself to what seemed to be the inevitable push of Rengoku-induced fate, you gathered up your own things and headed home.
Perhaps this was normal Rengoku behaviour. You had absolutely no yard stick to compare him to, considering you have never met anyone like him before. For a moment, you considered not going.
But then again, you didn't have anything to do tomorrow in any case.
And then again, you didn't have his number so it not like you could have called him to cancel.
Tomorrow brought with it the blinding sun of noontime, and Rengoku Kyoujurou's equally blinding grin, easily recognisable even in the crowded rush of Shinjuku station commuters. Wrapped up in a large, conspicuous red coat,  the starched collar of a dress shirt peaks through the neckline. Spotting you immediately as you emerge through the gantry, he strides towards you on glossy oxfords. You feel, all at once, significantly under dressed.
"You look great!" Rengoku booms at you once he considered you significantly within earshot. You were in jeans and sneakers, but you appreciated the polite sentiment anyway.
It was only when you were leaving the house an hour ago that you realised that you had no idea what Rengoku even needed you on a weekend for. You had no idea what to wear, so you had just been hoping it was perhaps a relaxed faculty lunch or an extra tutoring session for any stray failing students, and decided that what you had on would do. Now though, you weren't so sure.
You attempted to glance past him, but Rengoku's wide shoulders and even wider smile seemed to block everyone else from sight.
"You look nice as well," you say, gesturing to his prim ensemble. Rengoku smiles, if possible, even wider. "Thank you! Lets be off!" Turning sharply on his heel, he walks off into the crowd, leaving you to hurry after him, just as before, not once turning back at you.
"Where are the rest?" you ask, finally managing to elbow your way through the crowd to his side as he paused at a stoplight.
Rengoku turns to look down at you, tilting his head unlike a puppy. If, puppies could look so strangely intimidating.
"What rest? It's just us today!"
You blink at him as he begins to walk again, long legs carrying him farther and farther from you as you continued to hurry along. As you got closer, you realised he was talking, and had likely been talking for a while now.
"-And so I think it will be best if we hurry, as then we will be able to see all the fish, AND the penguin show!"
Fish? Penguin show? Hesitantly you asked again, "Rengoku-san... Where are we going?"
"The aquarium! Of course!"
Of course.
Rengoku Kyoujirou tells no lies, and certainly not enough base info, because you soon find yourself within the comforting dim lights of the aquarium's lobby, staring at the whale diorama hanging from the ceiling.
Why on earth did he drag you to the aquarium out of all places? You taught literature for heaven's sakes. Was he going to practice a lecture on the history of Japan's rising sea levels on you?
You heard that the school was planning a learning journey for the students soon, perhaps this was just the recce trip. You didn't find yourself much a fan of fish of any size or shape, thinking the expanse of water a bit overwhelming, and the traumatic memory of watching Jaws when you were only 7 leaving you with mild apprehension for live sea life in any proximity to you.
You said nothing of this to Rengoku, who seemed enthralled at the idea of staring at deep sea eels through twenty meter thick walls of glass, informing you (against your will) about nearly each and every specimen of creature housed in the aquarium. He was so pumped, he waived away your concern of paying him back for your ticket, with a laugh so booming you were sure he startled away a few fish (and some concerned parents).
At exactly 1:50pm, Rengoku straightened from where he had crouched down over the starfish tank, yelling mostly in the direction of the water about the creature's unique ability to regrow limbs "just like a demon!" (you never heard of mythical demons growing back limbs but thought it better than to ask).
"Let's go! The penguin show will start soon!"
The two of you managed to secure a good spot before the crowd started streaming in, thanks to Rengoku's timely actions. The penguins turned out to be absolutely adorable, easily bumping them up to the most enjoyable part of your trip.
Rengoku was unexpectedly quiet as you rambled on, happily recounting to him your favourite parts of the show, as you two followed the crowd out, with just enough timely grunts of approval to let you know he was listening.
As your excitement over the penguins died down, the two of you lapsed into a contemplative silence. You, wondering if its feasible to teach your pet crow similar tricks to the penguins, and him, wondering about whatever it is Rengoku thinks about.
Probably more fish facts.
The silence is broken far too quickly, with him declaring that the two of you should go get lunch. Agreeing readily enough, Rengoku leads you straight out of the aquarium, to your surprise. You had expected him to want to grab something quick at the aquarium's cafe.
Instead, he leads you to a quaint looking restaurant, still bustling with activity despite the late hour for lunch. The restaurant seemed to be populated with couples and groups of fashionable teenage girls, who fit in nicely with the flowery, delicate decor.
Rengoku sits ramrod straight in his ornate chair, ostentatious with his wild hair, red coat (still fully buttoned up), and shiny shoes, yet strangely he did not seem at odds with the gentle atmosphere of the restaurant.
"Do you come here often?" you ask, curious after listening to him recite a practiced order to the waiter.
"No! This is my first time here!" he beams at you.
"You seem familiar with the menu."
"I researched it! I heard this restaurant was popular with young women! I thought you might like it!"
You blink at him, surprised. You were touched at the gesture, and told him as much.
To your continued surprise, Rengoku does not throw you his signature shouted 'thank you!', but instead by way of response, gives you a pleased, serene, closed eye smile, that looked absolutely radiant on his handsome face. Compared to all his wild smiles before, this tugs at your heartstrings in a way that fills your cheeks with an embarrassing blush.
That moment of peace can only last so long. As the waiter returned with your individual meals, so did Rengoku's overwhelming enthusiasm.
"Delicious!" He exclaims, at full volume, completely ignorant of the scandalised stares the other patrons send him.
You hid your amused smile behind your spoon as you ate, trying to ignore the stares as well as he did. The food really was delicious.
Rengoku once again, waves away your attempts to pay, with the compromise that you can pay for the movie later.
Wait. Movie?
And so you went, to an afternoon screening of a newly released horror movie that Rengoku apparently, had booked seats for before. Was he planning to bring the students to the movie as part of the learning journey? You weren't even sure the kids were old enough to see it. Perhaps he's just a horror movie fanatic and wanted someone to watch the show with.
Not wanting to seem like a spoilsport but also not particularly enjoying movies like these, you went along with it quietly, paying for the tickets and buying a large bucket of popcorn for the both of you to share.
You both spend the movie sandwiched on either side between people in the packed theater. Rengoku watched the movie with studious intensity, while you stared at his profile, the popcorn, and the screen (between your fingers). Every so often Rengoku would lean in close to ask you if you were scared, and if you were doing okay, and if you needed him to explain a part of the plot you were studiously ignoring. He was using what he possibly supposes to be a whisper, although it could barely pass for a usual person's speaking volume, and was regularly and aggressively shushed by the people seating close by them.
Worried he wouldn't be able to hear your response from the screams of the actors on screen, you just shook your head or nodded in time to his questions, resorting to patting his arm to reassure him of your comfort, preferring not to reveal to him how scared you were of the movie.
Somehow you had expected to hate the movie more than you actually did. You actually spent most of it amused by Rengoku's undeterred 'whispers' and the subsequent low voiced shushes by the rest of the agitated audience. It certainly shaved off a lot of the possible tension. He also managed to get the plot of the movie completely skewed in the moments he attempted to recount it to you, and it only served to make the situation more amusing.
Rengoku offered to treat you to dessert in return for the movie, seeming to conveniently forget the entire point of you paying for the movie in the first place. At this point, you have gotten used to his steamroller personality and let him drag you to his dessert stall of choice.
Seated at a brightly lit shaved ice cafe, you watch as Rengoku carries over what looked like half the store's entire stock of shaved ice, piled high in a bowl that required both his hands to carry. The myriad of fruits and assorted cookies glittered adorning the dessert wriggled precariously as he sets it down in front of you. You had to lean to your side to even see Rengoku past the towering ice monstrosity.
Handing you a spoon, the man himself grins, manic, turning his gaze to his latest conquest.
"Lets dig in!"
You weren't even sure where all the food went.
Rengoku had just eaten a huge lunch at the restaurant not two hours ago, polished off most of the popcorn you bought (before the commercials even ended), and now was pretty much single handedly finishing off the giant bowl of shaved ice.
You had tapped out long ago, only managing to chew your way through less than a quarter of the thing, barely even making much of a dent in the now overflowing fruits and cookies. Even now, you couldnt rid yourself of the cloying sweet taste of the treats from your mouth.
Rengoku was undeterred by your lack of enthusiasm, shoveling large quantities of ice and fruit into his mouth in between exclamations of its deliciousness. You watched him in a mixture of awe and amusement at his battle with the dessert. You were actually a bit shocked that they sold an item so big at this store.
"Please! Have some more!" Rengoku implores you, speaking around the mixture of melting ice and syrup in his mouth.
You shake your head sheepishly in response. "That's alright, I'm already quite full."
Rengoku pauses his spoon for a second, considering you seriously, and the intensity of his gaze makes you squirm. Before you can say anything to fill the sudden silence, he gives an affirmative "HM!" and continues speed eating before the ice fully melts.
You two pass the rest of the time in silence, save for Rengoku's loud chewing. For you, this is normal. For him, it seems, not so much. You fret silently in your seat, wondering if you've offended him somehow. He did intend to treat you. Perhaps he felt annoyed that you didn't seem to appreciate the dessert?
The silence continued as the two of you walk out of the cafe, broken only by Rengoku telling you that since it's getting rather dark, he would walk you home.  Touched by the gentlemanly gesture and horrified at this new, quiet Rengoku, you give him an uncharacteristically cheerful agreement, and get a sharp nod in return.
You avoid looking at your phone on the train ride back, unwilling to offend him further, even though you could feel his intense gaze trained on you. A few times, he opens his mouth, as if to speak, and you turn to him quickly, as if to hear, but he only takes a deep breath and says nothing, mouth shutting with a clack.
Your anxiety was  at an all time high by the time the both of you reached the quiet street that lead up to your apartment block. You wondered how you were going to work together when you had somehow made even your most amicable mad at you. You also wondered if he managed to fulfill... Whatever it is he had set out to do today. In the end you got too caught up to the flow of it to ask, and he never said anything himself.
You turn to him, swinging your hands nervously. "We're here. Thank you for walking me back."
Rengoku shoots you one of his signature smiles, although it seems a bit strained. "No problem!"
You take a step back, intending to leave, and Rengoku follows with a step towards you. Another step back, he takes another step forward.
".... Well... See ya on Monday I guess? Thanks for today."
That seems to jolt him out of his reverie. "Ah! Yes, thank you! I enjoyed today very much!" he exclaims, at full volume, booming even louder in the quiet night.
You can't help but smile in return, feeling that the day's activities have made you rather taken with his idiosyncrasies. Even if you had no idea what the entire point of the outing was, you realised you had a surprising amount of fun. It was the first time you've been to an aquarium in years, and you certainly would never have watched that movie or eaten that dessert on your own accord. It's refreshing.
Rengoku takes another step towards you, and you're now close enough to see the fog of his breath. If you reach out, you can feel the material of his fancy red coat. He opens his mouth as if to say something, and gapes at you for a moment, before swooping down, and scooping you in a gentle hug.
You barely have time to process the warmth of his body around you before he leans back quickly, holding his arms rigid at his side.
"WELL THEN!" Rengoku shouts, shouting somehow even louder than before. "GOODNIGHT!"
Turning on his heel, he makes as if to stride away, but this time you're ready for it. Your arm shoots out, grabbing a fistful of his coat, and he stops immediately, one foot still hanging in the air.
"What- What was that?" you ask, confusion and shock melding together to irritation.
Rengoku turns, slowly, and when he faces you, you can tell that he's blushing all the way to his hairline, face dyed nearly the same shade as his coat. Immediately, he dips into a low bow, ponytail flopping with the movement.
"I'M VERY SORRY!"
You scratch your cheek awkwardly at the display. "It's okay, I'm not mad I'm just... Confused. Do you hug everyone after spending the day with them?"
Still bent at the waist, staring at the floor, Rengoku shouts into the pavement. "NO! I'M SORRY! I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN FOR A KISS BUT I... IM NOT STRONG ENOUGH! FORGIVE ME!"
You open your mouth, and close it, and open it again.
Sorry? Did you hear that right? Kiss? Who? You? Him? Kiss you?
Very distantly you hear yourself ask, "Why were you trying to kiss me?"
Rengoku peeks up at you from his bow. "Uzui-san told me that kissing you was the only appropriate way to end a date."
Uzui? Date?
"He..." You began, before switching tactics, knowing that anything involving advice from Uzui was sure to end up a shit storm. "This is a date?"
Rengoku straightens up slowly from his bow peering at you with his closest possible approximation towards nervousness. "Yes, it is!" At your lack of response he continues, "I have never been on a date before, so I asked Uzui-san for help! He seems very knowledgeable on the subject! He suggested I take you to the aquarium as it is a staple for dates! He told me of the restaurant to bring you to! He also suggested the movie!"
Rengoku paused, as if to gauge your reaction, but at your totally shocked to stone state, he continues on himself.
"I thoroughly researched the timings and sea life so I could show you the best of the aquarium while we were there! I also checked out reviews of the restaurant and their menu to make sure there would be items you would like there! I picked out the dessert because it had all of the fruits and cookies that I know you liked!"
"I... I just wanted you to have a good time," he finishes off, voice going uncharacteristically soft.
Now finished with his tirade he looks at you expectantly, eyes as intense as ever. Completely bombarded by the rush of information, you scramble to scrounge up a response.
"Why didn't you tell me it was a date?"
He does his puppy-esque head tilt. "Uzui-san says you would definitely know, as aquariums are a staple for dates!"
You were going to murder Uzui on Monday.
But then again, suddenly everything made sense. Rengoku's overly detailed itinerary for the day, his exceptional dressing, the restaurant, the walk home. You felt like an idiot for not noticing sooner.
Never in your wildest dreams would you thought Rengoku to have feelings for you. You had expected him to only see you as a fellow colleague, one who had joined the academy at the same time and were at most, buddies for that reason alone. Sure, he always tries to make time to talk to you at work, but you just chalked that up to how he is with everyone. Hell, you never even really thought you were in his league, fully aware of how popular he was with the student body and fellow teachers.
You bury your face in your hands, trying not to groan out loud at your own obliviousness. In front of you Rengoku shifts his weight from one foot to the other, obviously getting antsy with your silence.
"I understand if you don't feel similarly," he begins in a voice too level to belong to himself, "I respect your feelings fully and am sincerly sorry if I have crossed any boundaries. Do not worry at work I-"
"NO!" you yell, cutting him off nearly throwing yourself forward to grab him in your haste.  "I-I'm happy, you told me this!"
Rengoku stares down at you shocked by your loud response, face twitching as if he doesn't know whether to smile or not.
Awkwardly, you step forward, gently wrapping your arms around him, holding them there loosely until you feel him hug you back. You hide your burning cheeks in the folds of his coat, and the two of you stand in that dim street, hugging for what feels like a lifetime.
Finally Rengoku breaks the silence. "So, does this mean the date was a success?"
"Yep," you smile into his coat, your voice coming out muffled by the fabric, but you're pretty sure he heard you anyway.
"Then, can we go on another one again soon?"
You nodded, pulling away from him to face him. He's wearing that heart throbbing serene smile of his, and you cant help but smile in return.
"Of course! Just... ask me for advice next time okay? Not Uzui."

Demon Slayer Season 1 Ending Explained: What’s Aboard the Mugen Train?
https://ift.tt/3a3a9Gq
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the most popular anime series to come out in the past few years and the title’s recent addition to Netflix’s anime library has allowed a brand new audience to experience the thrilling action.
Demon Slayer chronicles the journey of Tanjiro, a burgeoning Demon Slayer who sets out to bring down the powerful and deadly demon who is responsible for the death of his family and transforming her sister into a rabid creature. Tanjiro and his fellow Demon Slayers grow in considerable ways and learn incredible new abilities as they progress on their journey, which is far from over. Demon Slayer packs a lot into its 26-episode first season, but some serious revelations are made in the finale that will greatly impact what’s to come next for the demon slaying team.
What Are The Twelve Demon Moons Planning?
Demon Slayer’s finale offers a reprieve from action as Tanjiro and friends catch their breath and figure out their plan for the future. However, a chilling flashback shows Muzan Kibutsuji at his absolute most vicious. Frustrated with the unsuccessful efforts of Rui and the other Lower Twelve Demon Moons, Kibutsuji cleans shop and massacres the lot of them rather than deal with more frustration.
The lone exception is Enmu, who shows proper fealty towards the Twelve Demon Moon leader. Muzan rewards Enmu with a healthy dose of his blood, which gives him a tremendous boost in power, and informs the demon that he’ll get even more if he takes out Tanjiro. In a very impressive manner, the finale manages to both eliminate a number of major villains, but also position Enmu as the new major threat. It’s a better strategy for what’s to come than for Tanjiro to stumble upon some completely new enemy.
Who Boards The Mugen Train?
Demon Slayer season 1 concludes with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu learning that an enormous train has become the site of numerous casualties and demon sightings. The Demon Slayer Corps sends Tanjiro to rid this locomotive of its evil. This is the kind of story that could have easily been a single episode in season one, so it’s exciting to learn that the Mugen Train is actually a much larger obstacle for the team.

Upcoming Anime 2021: New and Returning Series to Watch
By Daniel Kurland
The final moments of the season conjure a real feeling of a chapter coming to a close due to how the Mugen Train literally separates characters from the rest of the cast. Season one carries a mysterious energy of never knowing a Demon Slayer may unexpectedly jump in to help Tanjiro, but that possibility vanishes in something like a moving vehicle. Tanjiro’s team of Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko board the train, but so does the Flame Hashira, Rengoku, as well as Muzan’s recently upgraded Enmu of the Twelve Demon Moons. It’s a strong mix of characters in a confined space.
What Is Nezuko’s Demon Cure Status?
Much of Tanjiro’s mission in season one of Demon Slayer is that he’s desperate to keep his sister, Nezuko, safe from execution and return her to her non-demon state. Progress is extremely slow at first and Nezuko remains muzzled for the entirety of the season and tricks like hypnosis need to be resorted to in order to keep her docile. Nezuko’s temper becomes more in control as the season progresses and Tanjiro is able to demonstrate that she does still have some free will left inside of her, but she’s still a long way from being back to normal. It’s unclear if Nezuko will get cured or if she’ll just find a normalcy in her demon state, but Tanjiro has become more protective of her than ever and their bond will absolutely be important in what’s to come.
Will The Extended Cast Be Back?
Demon Slayer positions Inosuke and Zenitsu as important fighters that accompany Tanjiro on his mission, yet they’re both still coming into their own as warriors, much like Tanjiro himself. The trio work great as a team, but much of the season has Zenitsu and Inosuke trailing behind Tanjiro. The final episodes show that all three of them put serious work into their Total Concentration Breathing techniques. Tanjiro’s progress is the focus, but it’s obvious that Inosuke and Zenitsu have also made substantial improvement. The two haven’t been given an opportunity to show off their new skills yet, but it’s likely that the Mugen Train will mark their first big test of strength.
Demon Slayer is a series that continually moves forward, which means many of its big cast of characters can get left in the past. Tanjiro has made some important friends along the way like Kanao, Aoi, and the other members of the Butterfly Estate. As Tanjiro and company board the Mugen Train and beyond, it’s likely that these characters from specific regions may not be seen again and that new allies will be encountered. However, it looks like the Hashira will only have a more important role in what’s to come as the animosity between the Twelve Demon Moons and the Demon Slayer Corps festers. Rengoku joins Tanjiro’s team as they board the train, but it’s unlikely he’ll be the only other Demon Slayer who offers support in the future.
How Does The Movie Fit In?
This finale is somewhat muted in comparison to some of the series’ bigger episodes, but the ending immediately teases the continuation of the anime’s story in the movie, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. It’s not unusual for popular anime to get supplementary movies, but they often feature extra stories that can exist on their own.
Mugen Train, however, adapts Chapters 54 to 69 of the Demon Slayer manga and is fundamental viewing for any fan of the series. The anime decided to adapt this story arc in a flashy feature film, rather than devote a handful of episodes at the start of season two to this material. Mugen Train’s structure will hopefully allow Demon Slayer season two to cover even more ground and tell a focused story through its episodes.
Is Season 2 Happening?
Details have been slim on a second season of Demon Slayer, with instead most of the effort going towards the anime’s sequel film, Mugen Train. Demon Slayer’s movie progresses the story along, but it’s far from the conclusion of Tanjiro and Nezuko’s journey. With the level of popularity that’s surrounded Demon Slayer’s manga, anime, and feature film, it’s all but inevitable that a season two is on the way.
Fortunately, new episodes could hit in 2021, perhaps by summer or early winter, but it may still be considerably longer until these installments make their way over to Netflix. Regardless, Demon Slayer’s story is only getting started and it looks like the most intense material is yet to come.
