I prepared this ask in the Notes app only for Tumblr to not let me copy and paste the text so here’s a screenshot bc I’m not typing all that again lol

there’s this funny trend i see in trafficblr art, in that, when there’s a lineup of every past winner, most players will be surrounded by symbols that were relevant to their POV, and perhaps drawn with the last emotion they’d felt just before death (or maybe just whatever emotion the artist most associates with the character). The winners might be doing something, or in a pose that reflects how they won—there are a million ways to make a life series winners’ piece. What’s funny about it is that no one ever seems to know what to do with Scott. He’s most often just standing there looking mildly disgruntled. And for the symbols he’s most depicted with, it’s typically poppies, which are only relevant to the first season; last life scott does not place any importance on poppies, poppies dont ever come up beyond a brief interaction in episode 1, and jimmy as a whole is less relevant to scott’s pov in last life than he is in every other season.

not that this is an issue with the art; the pieces are beautifully done, it’s just representative of how little fandom discussion there is about scott’s win thematically. Most discussion I see are about the watchers and how they hate scott for defying him or whatever, but watcher lore is not discussion of the series itself as much as it is a fan creation that is retroactively applied to create meaning.

Scott’s Last Life win, to me, was achieved through accomplishing what Third Life Scott could not.

Scott spent 3L waiting for his day one ally to die. He kept Jimmy at a distance, often fully gearing himself up first before backtracking to help Jimmy along. There’s a funny disparity in episode 5, where Jimmy spends the entire episode trying to get good enchants on his iron armor, while Scott sets up a villager and gets good enchants for the full diamond set that he’d already had in storage, in about half the time Jimmy took trying to accomplish his own goal, iirc. This disparity is also something scott acknowledges with the “I’ll always be more powerful than you” line, but it’s been a while since ive written a post like this so i unfortunately do not have the episode number memorized on that one anymore. But Scott goes on to explain that he’ll always have better armor and weapons, which is why Jimmy could never kill him. This is all to say that Jimmy and Scott do not stand on equal grounds in their alliance, and, more importantly, Scott does not depend on Jimmy. The progress Scott makes in Third Life is entirely his own, with Jimmy as more of an afterthought than a teammate.

This is what landed Scott his all time lowest placement. After Jimmy dies first, Scott loses sight of his priorities and dedicates his remaining time alive to avenging Jimmy, rather than focusing on his own longevity (like he’d go on to do in future seasons). And, in that way, Scott’s attitude towards Jimmy (disposable, going to die, unreliable) was an indirect contributor to Scott’s low placement.

In contrast: Scott could not have won Last Life without Pearl. Scott has to rely on Pearl from day 1, having only two lives to start with himself. Pearl gives Scott two lives total. Pearl and Scott are almost always together. They made it to the final four by each other’s side. And that forced day 1 reliance on pearl breaks down the role scott typically assumes (*he’s* supposed to be the person people rely on, he’s supposed to be the one bringing everything to the table) which curbs his tendency to see himself as above others, which then allows for the most genuine happiness i have ever seen him have in an alliance.

The comparison between the way Scott talks to Pearl and the way Scott talks to Jimmy is like night and day. Scott doesn’t compliment or otherwise say anything supportive towards Jimmy (save for the “I believe in you! MCC has trained you for this moment!” during Jimmy’s dare to flare attempt) until after Jimmy has already died. With Pearl, however, Scott is much more open about his care towards her, saying that she’s his best friend and that he loves her as early as episode 2. There’s more examples but between last life and third life, Scott’s attitude towards his primary ally is completely different, and i think it’s symptomatic of Scott allowing himself to love and be vulnerable rather than keeping himself at a distance. And i think that it’s so special that scott won the season where he was so close with his day one alliance, directly because of his day one alliance.

because, to me, one of scott’s defining characteristics is his self reliance. He will have allies, yes, but he often assumes a supportive role and acts as a supplier. He doesnt like taking things from other people. Last Life is different because Scott relies on Pearl, too. It’s also not a coincidence that last life is the only season where scott is normal about jimmy but that’s a different post

tldr yes scott won last life with the power of love but not in the way people say he did (ignoring the boogeyman curse was strategy ☝️)

I SHOULD NOTE, though, that the boogeyman curse was still a fail. Although purposeful, Scott receives the penalty and apologizes to his team. He says he just couldn’t bring himself to do it. I do think that his words here aren’t fully honest— he’d admitted earlier that this choice was fully for strategy. But I also think his apologetic attitude here is genuine. Scott is a perfectionist, he needs to succeed; failing, though purposeful, still hurts. He feels the need to apologize. It means so much to me that his win in last life directly follows the choice to fail on purpose. I’m insane though idk

third life scott embodies scotts flaws while last life scott is him overcoming them 👍 is what im trying to say 👍 last life scott is everything that third life scott could not bring himself to be, in allowing himself to love and depend on other people and overall just be a person.

A VERY fun era for Jude! she was more active than usual on tiktok and instagram!

Compared to Killing Me Softly she looked like she actually enjoyed this era and was promoting it! She was all smiles the entire duration!

Many SongBird’s were nostalgic for her earlier eras with this EP. The tracklist reminded them of Love Letter, which was released in 2016. The music video was reminiscent of the mv for Purple Nights, while the fits were somewhat similar to Lover Girl’s outfits. Due to the throwbacks fans received, many began to worry and speculate that this would be her last release and that she’d be retiring from the music industry. However! Daphne squashed the rumors saying; “Namjoo is already planning her next release. There’s no way she’s retiring anytime soon. So, stop worrying and speculating.”

so addictive landed on itself at number 10 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart! And Fall In Love at 7 on Billboard’s Top 100 chart!

Fall In Love reached 70 million views within the first 24 hours of its release.

Off Script Shenanigans 

Warnings: None. Humor, wholesome content.

Word Count: 1,513

Brief Description: The Welcome Home cast is alive and live alongside humans. You have been contracted to be their Caretaker, tending to their needs, schedule, and keeping them from (getting themselves into) bad publicity. The gang has some downtime on set, entertaining themselves or each other with nonsensical activities to pass the time as the Technical Director works on fixing the issues.

The studio was as energetic as ever. Production had halted due to technical difficulties that needed to be resolved. You lazily sat on one of the deck chairs, elbow on the armrest, cheek leaning against your palm as you scanned across the set and watched some of the cast members. You were glad to get a break and off your feet.

[Eyes first land on Sally]

Sally was going over the script, suggesting certain scenes to be revised with the Director, and penciling in changes.

Sally: “I just think we really should include a song during this scene, making it more—lively, ya know?”  

You overheard her conversation, chuckling as the Director gave her a puzzled look. You weren’t sure how much more ‘lively’ the show could be with the beautiful array of bright colors and every other episode already containing musical numbers. “Oh! Maybe even a dance sequence—”

[Eyes pan towards Poppy]

You watched as the red fluff of feathers hummed to herself, sitting near a basket of props. You couldn’t tell what she was doing exactly, but it looked like she was probably knitting something? Well, she had her hobbies outside of teaching children their ABC’s.

[Next, you saw Julie]

Julie: “Howdy-ho neighbors! Come tour the Welcome Home set with me!”

A small smile formed on your lips as you watched the bubbly puppet hold her phone slightly above her face as she chatted with fans on her live feed.

Your eyes trained on her for a minute as she walked about, introducing some of the wardrobe designers and makeup artists that work on her outfits, looks, and so on. As she moved on, you kept watching as Julie draped an arm around Wally’s shoulders before he could snatch up one of the apples sitting at the spread table, adjusting her phone so both were in the frame of view.

Julie: “Wally Darling, say hello to everyone!”

Wally: “Well hello dear neighbors! Hope you’re all looking forward to the next episode.” He waved, smiling.

Barnaby soon came up from behind the two with a large grin, saying hello as well. You could tell the chat was going absolutely insane getting to interact with them. You giggled at their antics, happy that they got to spend some time with people from all around the world, even if it wasn’t during one of their face-to-face meet-and-greets.

Probably one of the many things you admired about them.

Although sometimes crazy (and difficult to handle), they were always dedicated to entertaining the masses with wholesome content. On camera anyhow. It was your job to make sure no scandalous rumors ended up in the media; constantly protecting their image off screen. You’d hate to see the show canceled, especially since you were dedicated not only to the basis of the show but because you deeply cared for them.

Julie: “Oh! Barnaby, someone asked how many things you’re able to juggle at once.”

Barnaby: “Well, let’s see. Hey, lil’ buddy, toss me a few of those apples will ya?”

Julie released her light hold on Wally, flipping the camera so she could point the phone toward the pair. She stepped back as Wally began gently tossing a few apples in Barnaby’s direction. The blue mass caught them with ease, beginning to juggle. 1…2...3…4….

Barnaby: “Ha! Too easy, c’mon, toss me a few more.”

Julie: “Oh, oh! Someone also said to make it more challenging.”

Wally: “Guess we just have to give our dear neighbors what they’re asking for.” He muses, scanning the spread table and grabbing one of the bananas, then tossing it toward Barnaby.

Again, catching it with ease, Barnaby chuckled as he nodded toward the soda cans. Wally picked one up, tossing them his way.

Barnaby: “…5….6!” The juggling continued, items being tossed a bit higher to make some space as he caught and tossed, and tossed, and tossed.

Julie: “Think you can handle any more?”

Barnaby: “I’m the Great Barnaby B. Beagle, nothing can stop me now!”

Wally looked over, pondering what to toss his friend next. He decided on some sunglasses, then grabbed one of the bowling pin props and a small stress ball out of a box one of the stagehands was carrying as they scooted by.

Wally: “…7…8….9….”

You continued to watch, tilting your head up slightly as Barnaby’s juggling began to waver and then steady.

Barnaby: “Let’s make it an even 10. Toss me one more please.”

There weren’t many other options readily available until Wally saw one of the saran-wrapped sandwiches on the table. Picking it up, he tossed it but misjudged the distance as Barnaby jolted to catch it. Stepping forward, he caught it, but it threw off the balance of the juggled circle and the items began slightly leaning more and more until Barnaby began staggering toward you.

You perked up, stiffening. You noticed he was moving toward one of the cables on the floor, which was unfortunately not taped down to prevent a tripping hazard.

Caretaker: “Barnaby, wait—”

Too late.

Barnaby: “Whoa--!” The puppet’s foot was caught underneath the cable, the apples, banana, sandwich, sunglasses, bowling pin prop, stress ball, and can of soda flying in your direction.

Everything crashed down around you, save for the soda can, which plummeted right in front of you. The sheer velocity of the aluminum can hitting the ground had enough force to burst, a steady, but violent stream of soda onto your face. (Did everything that went wrong have to be an overly exaggerated gag bit?)

You held your hands out to try and shield yourself, aggressively coughing as you accidentally inhaled the fizzy beverage through your nose. After what felt like an eternity, it finally stopped blasting in your face.

Both Wally and Julie were immediately by your side, asking if you were okay, while Barnaby repeatedly apologized from the ground. You could hear the commotion around you as Sally ran to grab a towel, Poppy squawking in concern somewhere in the background.

Wally: “Care, are you okay?” He asked, reaching over, and gently placing a hand on your arm. “Are you hurt—” He stopped, eyes widening slightly as you began to laugh under your breath, which soon turned into loud, boisterous laughter.

You didn’t quite open your eyes since the soda stung, but you couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Doubling over, you just couldn’t stop yourself from cracking up. Both Wally and Julie sighed in relief, smiling as you confirmed you were okay. As you calmed down from your fit of laughter, you thanked Sally for the towel and wiped your face.

Wally: “Well, I’m glad you’re alright Caretaker. It’s also nice to see you having more fun.”

Julie: “Yeah! You have such a wonderful laugh! You should do that more often.”

Barnaby: “Pfft—you call that a laugh? It was more of like a goose hon—” His mouth shut automatically as you gave the blue puppet a warning glance. “Uh.. ha, ha, ha. I mean, your laugh is fantastic Care!” He backtracked before standing and looking you over. Placing his hands on his hips, he shifted his weight to one leg, smiling down at you. “But, it does sound refreshing to finally have you let loose.”

You shake your head, wrapping the towel around your shoulders.

Julie: “Oh! Right!” Julie swapped her phone camera again, leaning closer and placing you both in the frame. “Hey, hey neighbors! Crisis averted! They’re A-O.K.! But let me also introduce you to the most important member of the Welcome Home Cast! This is our dear Caretaker! They work super hard!”

Wally: “That’s right. They always take great care of us.” He adds, leaning closer despite the threat of getting his felt sticky.

Sally: “And they’re super cool!”

Barnaby: “Not to mention, a real spitfire.” He nudged your shoulder gently once he made his way to you.

At this point, Poppy, Eddie, Howdy, and Frank had appeared, joining in the cascade of praises. You were a bit too stunned to speak, not quite used to being complimented so much. You definitely weren’t anticipating this. You were skeptical at first, but their words were truly genuine as each of the cast members looked over to you with smiles reaching all the way up to their eyes. You heard and saw the swift pings of comments from the fans, not being able to read all of them, but catching a glimpse of the ‘hello Caretaker’, ‘keep doing your best’, and ‘you’re incredible’.

Caretaker: “I… thank you….” You replied sheepishly, feeling your face begin to flush. You reached up, grabbing one of the ends of the towel that was wrapped around your shoulders, bringing it up to your nose to hide the blush that had formed.

All cast members, in unison: “No, thank YOU, Caretaker!”

[Bonus]

You would later clean yourself up and ended up scolding Barnaby, Wally, and Julie about the dangers of carelessly tossing so many things in the air without properly considering their surroundings. Someone could have seriously gotten hurt after all.

Hey there lovelies. I hope your Monday wasn't too crazy! I'm gonna keep it short tonight because I am nodding off.

I know sometimes we do things when we're not feeling very well that we regret. I know sometimes we get so far progress wise, but then we revert a little bit because the day was just too much. Sometimes we even say or do things that hurt others, even if we don't mean to, but it happens.

Just remember lovelies that that doesn't make you a bad person.

We all make mistakes. We are all human, and none of us are infallible.

You are going through so much. You are dealing with the stressors of the day, of the week, of the year, of the country, of the global climate, hell you're dealing with the stressors of keeping you and your loved ones fed, and clothed and sheltered, or maybe you're dealing with a physical ailment.

Whatever it is, you're dealing with A LOT. We all have bad days.

Making mistakes is how we grow. Give yourself some grace lovelies, you deserve grace too.

Anyway, that's enough out of me, goodnight crew, I hope your dreams are sweet, and your rest is full.

It's a clichéed response, but Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. Damn but I loved Gideon (the character) from the start and I wanted to know more about her.

Also Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett. My favourite of his so far!

4) A book I’ve read twice (or more):

Do mangas count? Because I've read the Fullmetal Alchemist series by Hiromu Arakawa quite a number of times lol

5) A book on my TBR:

The rest of the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. I only read the first novella so far, and I'm hooked!

6) A book I’ve put down:

I tried to read The Well of Time a couple of times, and I've never quite managed. I don't know why it just doesn't click with me.

God, so many. I'd be curious to read anything by R. F. Kuang, like the Poppy Wars series and Babel.

I was a big fan of the Bartimaeus series by Jonathan Shroud. Barty is still one of my favourite narrators ever.

I have the tendency to lend my books to my friends, does it count? For one, I got two of them hooked on the Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson that way. I have a friend who would really like Uprooted by Naomi Novik too, but I haven't had the occasion to lend it to her yet!

11) A nonfiction book you own:

I like reading history books these days! So I have a few of Martin Wall's books about Anglo-Saxon history, and couple of books about the Viking age and the Roman era too.

I have an idea for a fnaf fan game that is inspired by poppy playtime

It’s called 4 Nights at CatNaps

Plot: One Day before poppy playtime chapter one poppy was still in that case and she decided to take a long nap and when she was asleep in her dream she find herself in a weird place and she is in a office she looks at the logo on the top that says the smiling critters daycare when poppy doesn’t remember that type of daycare she gets a phone call she picks up the phone and it was Ollie one of poppy’s friends telling poppy she’s in a nightmare where she won’t wake up for four days and the smiling critters are coming after you except for one and the only way she can wake up is by surviving 4 nights and that’s where poppy gets the grab pack and gets prepared and that’s where the game begins

Here’s what each night will have but each night more smiling critters will join

How they work

Bubba Bubbaphant- He will randomly appear in your office with a big calculator behind him he will then have her answer every preschool math problem for example 4 x2=? Press the number pads on the keyboard to get the right answer but get a wrong answer then bubba bubbaphant will get mad and jumpscare you

KickinChicken- He will be randomly appearing from the left or right hallways if you briefly see him on either left or right door shut the left or right door to prevent him from coming to your office if you don’t shut the left or right door he will come at your office and jumpscare you

PickyPiggy- She is always hungry and she will appear coming from the center door if you see her at the center door use the flare gun and shoot her away from the center door if you don’t shoot her away she will jumpscare you

Hoppy Hopscotch- She will appear at the carrot house she moves three times before she is gone at her house if you check the cameras and she isn’t here and if you check the right hall she will be running straight to your office if you see her running to your office shut the right door to prevent her from coming in your office if you don’t shut the right door she will come to your office and jumpscare you

Bobby Bearhug- She will randomly appear at your office getting ready to jumpscare you as the exposure goes up but you have short amount of time to give her a bobby bearhug plush and have her leave the office for her to snuggle with her plushie and then the exposure will reset all the way back down again but if the exposure goes all the way up she will jumpscare you

CraftyCorn- She will randomly appear at your office with an unfinished painting she needs only one color to finish the painting and 6 paint cans will appear in front of you click on the correct color and her painting will be finished and she will leave the office but give her the wrong color the painting will be messed up and craftycorn will jumpscare you

DogDay- He will randomly appear in your office and is the only smiling critter that will help you through out the night with four ways he will give you + 4% power, exposure freeze, radar, fast time, he will have you take your time to choose and when you pick one he will let you be and leaves the office.

CatNap- He’s the main villain of the game and poppy has the gas mask ready for her he will appear in many ways first he will appear at the left, right, and center hallway use your flare to see which door he is at and for example if he’s at the left door shut the left door to prevent him from coming to your office. If you don’t shut on the correct door he is in he will come to your office and jumpscare you. Next he will appear at the ceiling vent coming to your office if you see him at the ceiling vent use your grab pack to close the ceiling door if you don’t close the ceiling door he will come to your office and jumpscare you. Lastly catnap will randomly appear at your office exhaling red smoke when that happens put on the gas mask to have catnap disappears and leave the office and red smoke will disappear if you don’t put on the gas mask he will appear right in front of you and jumpscare you.

For the ending after 4 nights are complete poppy then sees the bigger bodies version of dogday chained up and legs gone and poppy walks to him and dogday tells her you were always a determined kind and sweet girl…the girl you were once were before you were killed by the scientist and become the doll you are now….the prototype has made the toys gone to a complete massacre….huggy wuggy…mommy long legs…catnap….boxy boo….pj pug a pillar….bunzo bunny…the mini huggies and mini critters….miss delight and her sisters….all toys that worshipped the prototype for their revenge except for you and me….and poor kissy missy…she was forced to take revenge with them…everyone was killed….the monsters that were once children including what we were….before the scientist killed them and turned them into those toys….poppy feels sad and remembers it all and says i remember all of that too….they killed everyone…the guilty….the innocent….didn’t matter….i remember their cries….what’s going on….why is this happening….what are those things….poppy teared up and began to cry dogday then says I get what you mean….that….thing….catnap….the prototype is his god….and this is what he does to heretics….listen poppy….i know how you feel….but we can’t lose hope…one day someone will come to playtime co….set you free from your case….and then help you to kill prototype….but…you and your angel can fix this without me….it won’t be long until those mini critters eat my insides and kill me…it won’t be long till I die….but…I know you’re always determined poppy…. And poppy wipes her tears and smiles softly saying your right…I am determined….the prototype has to die….for this…for everything….and someday…..someone….will let….me……out……as the post cutscene shows poppy still in her case until the shadow of the former employee shows up opens the case with the blue hand and the lights flickered for a couple of seconds with poppy’s eyes open and as the screen turns black she says offscreen you opened my case…… and that’s where the game ends

Ok, I didn't realize until now this sheep fella is an official Poppy Playtime character for chapter 4 I thought it was a fan oc, my bad Though watching the trailer and seeing them, I have a slight theory It's extremely small theory, but I think it could hold some water Ollie, the kid that we talked to in chapter 3, I think this new sheep character could be him We never saw Ollie in chapter 3, and he sounds like a kid Though if we think logically, all the kids would be dead, or if they are alive, most likely adults by now, by how much time has passed from the hour of joy to the start of the game Ollie being a toy is the most likely, and this sheep could very possibly be him That was really all I have to say about this Can't wait for chapter 4, very excited I also really like this sheep character's design, very nice (Boogie Bot will always be my number 1 favorite tho)

Seeing the Floyd perspective on the relationship makes me want to see the Creek perspective, especially the period where they were divorced. But also: Goddamn. This relationship really is the happiest either could get huh. I mean, Floyd could and CAN do better if he wanted, but I think it’s sweet how they chose each other.

After Trolls 1 (a brief summary for the non-trolls fans following along at home: he was almost eaten by King Gristle so he sold (what he thought was) his entire species to save himself. He gets eaten by a BIGGER monster but he makes it out, somehow. Don’t think about it too hard) he lives alone in the woods for several months, before returning to Troll Village. People do NOT want him around, because, you know. Do I need to explain it? But Poppy let him back in, because she “feels bad for him” or whatever, and also they used to date so she thinks she has to. So he has a home, he’s back in his old pod, he even has his old job back! But no one wants to be around him, and he’s got only himself to blame.

Creek does NOT blame himself. He’s NEVER at fault, it’s always someone else’s. He devolves further into misanthropy, while still keeping up his at peace, Zen facade. He hates everyone. He hates Poppy. He hates Branch.

He tries to get back to how he was, establish himself as a musician, on top of teaching yoga. He gets a lot of fans, but he’s still pretty... controversial, to say the least. How could he not be? He was almost responsible for hundreds of deaths. But worse things haven’t stopped people from stanning. Look at your real life Twitter trending tab if you don’t believe me!

After all tribes are at peace, he makes an off colour comment about how rowdy and loud Rock trolls are when someone stops by his yoga class and disrupts it for his much more well behaved Pop students. Obviously, canon typical racism is a pretty big no-no, so he gets a lot of flack. Hence, the collab with Riff, which doesn’t actually help his reputation at all because Riff immediately took to Twitter to call Creek an asshole.

Then, Creek decides he’s been going at this all wrong. he doesn’t need to bend over backwards to make himself look better; he just needs to make the people he HATES look WORSE! As much as he hates to admit it, Branch is actually pretty spotless (and is, you know, dating the Queen, so...). But, he has FOUR brothers, two of which are single and one of which is infamous for whoring himself out. The adoring public are more willing to crucify their idols for victimless sex scandals than they are for genuine atrocities. This is when Creek pays someone (several someones, actually, but only one of them was successful) to seduce Floyd, record it without his knowledge, and send Creek the footage so he can leak it and tank Brozone’s reputation. We’ve been over how this didn’t work out for him in the way he wanted, but that doesn’t mean it was entirely a waste of time. He broke Floyd a little more.

A couple months pass. Creek continues to get in controversies that he could easily avoid if he simply stepped out of the spotlight, but he can’t, because he is addicted to clout and still believes he is never at fault. He finds out Riff has collabed with Floyd, and since Riff is one of the many, many trolls who are dead to Creek, he throws his little adult man tantrum and decides it’s personal, and he needs to take matters into his own hands. If you want it done right, you should just do it yourself. He starts frequenting Floyd’s favourite gay bar until by some miracle they’re in the same place at the same time. You know how things go.

Creek wakes up the next morning sore. Y'know, because of the drugs. Mostly. He’s alone. He’s mad, that his plan didn’t work. But he can still save it, and next time they run into each other he asks for Floyd’s number, saying how he really wants this to go further, he felt a connection. He did not feel a connection. Creek is not attracted to other men. They start dating, and he couldn’t be happier; not because he likes Floyd, obviously, but because he’s sure Branch is dying inside. I mean, yeah, Branch barely reacts any more past the first week, but he’s probably just really good at faking tranquillity. Creek knows how to fake tranquillity, too.

The relationship lasts, a lot longer than he thought it would, honestly. He thought it’d last a couple weeks at most, before Branch tried to kill him. But no such luck, instead, he’s stuck being couple-y, doing couple-y things, with a man he feels nothing for. They engage in a lot of PDA, and Creek buys Floyd a lot of gifts (that he insists were HIS ideas, NOT Floyd’s), they’re basically attached at the hip! And Creek genuinely thinks he’s on top of the situation. Poor, sweet, innocent Floyd, or whatever. He’s The Sensitive One! There’s no way Floyd knows what’s going on. He's be inconsolable if he did.

So when Floyd pushes him to prove how much Creek loves him, when he doesn’t, the only thing he can think of is to propose. He wasn’t sure what he was thinking. Honestly, he was pretty sure Floyd would say no, since they’d only been going out about half a year, and if that’s the end of the relationship, at least he could peddle it for sympathy points from the public. Unfortunately, Floyd is fucking crazy, and said yes.

Now Creek has a husband. He is still not into men, but he has a husband. He moves out of his pod and into Floyd’s mansion. This is it, he thinks. This is the rest of his life. He still keeps up the act, of course. He can’t have Floyd catching on. But he’s kinda bummed about his fate as a trophy husband for someone he feels nothing for.

He gets his first egg a month or two later, and is surprised to find that Floyd had a matching one. Creek might not care for Floyd, but he never thought he’d be a dad, and he gets. Emotional? He didn’t think he was CAPABLE of crying happy tears any more! Not that he’d let Floyd know, of course. The eggs hatch a month later (Floyd insisted on their names) and Creek is actually, genuinely happy. For a bit.

A month after that, four months into their marriage, everything falls into the open. Creek finds out that Floyd knew he never loved him, but he was playing Creek like 3D chess. And he’s mad, of course, but what is he gonna do, divorce Floyd? They have kids! Plus, you know, Floyd’s blackmailing him. “Tricking a man into marrying you and having kids with him” wouldn’t exactly be good for Creek’s reputation, not to mention how Floyd knows a lot of his personal embarrassing secrets now. From that point, things ramp up a couple notches.

No longer having to pretend everything is hunky dory in the privacy of their own homes, things escalate into all out warfare. And Creek can’t lie, it’s kind of an adrenaline rush, having to sleep next to the guy who you hate more than anything. Which is another thing that freaks Creek out! He actually hates Floyd more than Poppy, or even Branch! Don’t get him wrong, thinking about either of them for too long still fills him with white hot rage, but he doesn’t get the opportunity when Floyd’s wrapping his arms around him and acting all sappy in public, knowing they’re gonna go home and choke each other. Non sexually. Okay, maybe a little sexually. He’s still not into boys.

Then, they get comfortable. And things become too “real” for Floyd, who leaves, and divorces him, and doesn’t even try to get PARTIAL custody. Creek is shocked, at first, but then decides this is the best possible outcome. They’re no longer together, it’s NOT Creek’s fault, and he has sole custody of the kids he loves so dearly! Plus, he’s back on the market, baby! He can get back to cruising for fit GIRLS. He doesn’t have much luck. Partly because most Pop trolls still hate him (even if at this point it has dialled back to levels of the Azealia Banks Chicken Fiasco), partly because, at this point? He has no idea how to form genuine romantic relationships with other trolls that aren’t built on psychological warfare. He doesn’t even realise he’s doing it! Several relationships end in him getting dumped, with her friends and family encouraging her to leave him for “emotional abuse”, or whatever. He didn’t even mean it this time, honest! He just wanted to win, you know? He forgot the point of a romantic relationship is not actually to seek victory. But it’s so hard not to! He spent 18 months doing exactly that! Even when he “lost”, which was most of the time, he still got a sick thrill out of the hunt. A sick thrill he is now missing. He understands why Floyd couldn’t quit the coke, now. He tries not to think about Floyd any more.

Meanwhile, their fraternal twins, Brad and Angelina, wait patiently for their parents to get back together. Even though Brad was only 8 months old at the time of divorce, that’s like, 6 years for a troll, and he knew there’s no way in Hell they could stay apart. He just has to wait a bit for his Pops to come back home. Angelina, while having no opinions on whether they will or even should get back together, has already started reaping the benefits of having recently divorced parents at school. She’d be looking forward to having two Giftmases and two birthdays, if she knew what either of those were yet.

Then comes the reunion. We know what happens. They run into each other at a charity event for orphans, not that Floyd remembers what it’s for, since he’s been violently depressed for several months and is only there because Brozone (not specifically Floyd) were asked to make an appearance. They reminisce on their whirlwind romance, they get drunk, Floyd forces JD to remarry them. Creek wakes up the next morning with a brand new ring on his finger.

Creek’s first thought is that the rings look cheap, like they were the only ones they could get on such short notice, and he’s glad he never sold their original rings that he still has back in the mansion. Then, it sinks in that he has Floyd back. He means, that he’s back with Floyd. Which he feels totally neutral on. Negative, even. He’s definitely NOT thrilled that he’s got his perfect match back, and can stop trying to pretend to be someone he’s not. He hates Floyd. Grr! He gives up the act the second Floyd wakes up, and he sees Creek, and starts crying.

At first Creek thinks, aw shit, this was a mistake, we’re getting divorced again. He’s gonna be twice divorced before he’s 30, which is NOT a good look for him. Then they talk, for a while, until they’re on the same page. This IS what they both want. They want to be together. They want to constantly be at each others’ throats, sometimes literally. They want to always have to think, and plan, and make sure the other won’t come out on top. It’s more enriching for them than any other relationship could ever be. This is the first and probably only time they have ever been fully 100% honest with each other.

Except for the sex tape thing, obviously. Creek’s taking that to the grave.

They return to the mansion and Brad greets Floyd casually, as if it hadn’t been 3 1/2 months since they’ve seen each other. Angelina asks if this means they get to eat junk food again. Floyd arranges for a moving van to bring all his stuff back to the mansion that week, and Creek arranges for Brangelina to visit friends for the day.

Things settle down and after a week or two and you’d never even guess they divorced, if not for how they’re back in their honeymoon phase, and Creek has gone from insisting he feels nothing for Floyd to admitting he is psychosexually obsessed with him. He still says he’s straight, though. And Floyd is more than happy to live with that.

Just An Act

~part 4~

Prompt: You and Sebastian broke up following the events of 5th year. Now it is 7th year, you and Ominis are together and all seems well… until you and Sebastian are casted as lovers in a play.

Practice started in three days, and you and Ominis made the most out of that time while you had time and everything was calm. You both had unspoken feelings of anxiety about the upcoming weeks, both revolving around the same boy. You were both up in the library in the back corner of the second story, your head on his lap while you both studied for an upcoming quiz. These nights were your favorites, quiet, alone, candlelit and cuddly. Ominis made sure he held you tighter, reassuring both you and himself that everything will be fine. In reality, it was just a play, you two were probably making it out a lot worse than it really was.

“MC.. I know you’re falling asleep..there’s no need for you to try and stay up for me” Ominis smiled, running his fingers through your hair.

“It’s nice up here..” You smiled tiredly, “Plus, my room wouldn’t have you in it” You joked, turning your head to look up at him. He smiled, leaning down to kiss the top of your head,

“Are you nervous about the play?” He asked softly, putting down his book and holding your hand.

“A little.. you?” You asked. He nodded in reply. He was comforted by the fact that no matter how close Sebastian could get to you during the play, he knew you would always end up with him at the end of the night.

“You’ll be a great director” You reassured him, avoiding the obvious reasons behind both of your discomforts. You were nervous for two reasons… the first being Sebastian. It had been so long since you interacted with him, you wondered if it would be the same as it was before. And secondly, you didn’t want to make your boyfriend uncomfortable or uneasy. You knew you had to tread carefully. Although your thoughts were messy, your loyalty to Ominis was never in the question. He was your rock, and you were his star, both playing vital roles in each other’s lives.

“And you will be a great lead.. I will enjoy every moment of you on stage.. perhaps even being your number one fan” He whispered.

“Poppy might argue that.” You chuckled, squeezing his hand.

“There’s no competition there, little dove” He smiled, caressing your face. A comfortable silence followed, enjoying each others company for the remainder of the night. No words needed to be spoken, your bond was strong.

“Merlin!..” Sebastian sighed, alone in his room as he thought about the upcoming days. What did he want? Truly. He liked Octavia, but you were going to be right in front of him. How was that even fair. He raked his fingers through his hair, was he overthinking this? You two weren’t even friends anymore and here he was comparing you to his girlfriend!

“Such an asshole..” he muttered to himself, although it didn’t stop his thoughts from wandering. He decided he needed some air, assuming the library was empty at this time of night, it was past curfew anyway. He threw on his robe, wandering out into the library, the silence reassuring him his assumptions were right. He made his way up the stairs, stopping dead in his tracks at the sight that greeted him. MC and Ominis, asleep together in the back corner. For a split second, his heart stung. It was easy to ignore these two when you’re avoiding them, but to see the reality was different.

He chuckled too himself knowing it was definitely you who had convinced Ominis to come out here after curfew. There was no way that innocent boy would even think to do this. However, the thought reminded him of the past. You hadn’t changed, still charming enough to get your way, still sneaky enough to manage slipping through the halls past curfew. Only a year and a half had passed since you and Sebastian would be in the same position, just down underneath in the restricted area. However being upstairs had shown your maturity, there was comfort in familiarity and not the unknown below. He shook his head, reversing back to his room with a heavy heart.

Today was the day! You and Ominis got ready together, making sure you both looked as good as possible. You wanted to look good because all eyes would be on you, and looking pretty would boost your confidence overall. Ominis, on the other hand, wanted to show off to a specific slytherin boy, proving his worthiness of you in his looks. You, Ominis, Natty, and Poppy all met up outside in the courtyard so you could all go together.

“I’m so excited! MC you look dashing as ever! It was definitely the right choice to make you the lead!” Poppy smiled, “your costar will be jealous!” She smiled, clearly not thinking of the weight those words held. Ominis bit his lip, unsure of how to even go about replying to the doe eyed girl.

“Poppy shush! I appreciate your compliment but you dont have to exageraste!” You smiled, avoiding the elephant in the room, trying to play it off.

“Everyone should be jealous.” Ominis stated, smiling down at you, making you blush.

You made it to the auditorium, students already gathering and waiting for direction. The four of you found yourselves secluded on one side of the room, waiting for the professor to arrive. Sebastian and Octavia stood parallel to you on the opposite end of the room, Sebastian letting his eyes wander a little too much, comforted by the fact there was no way Ominis could notice. You felt lingering eyes on you, but through the sea of students, you couldn’t tell if your mind was just playing tricks on you.

“Good morning everyone! I am glad to see you all this morning! We have lots of work to do!” The professor exclaimed as she made her wait into the room. The students all welcomed her with a combined “Goodmorning Professor!”

“First things first, introductions! I would like all of you to find your counterparts! For example, directors group up, set design group up, supporting and lead actors!” She smiled at the class. Ominis’s stomach turned at the thought, simply squeezing your hand before going off with Natty. You scanned the room, looking for your ex companion. You saw him kiss his girlfriend goodbye as she went off to find her people, you timidly approached him from behind, tapping on his shoulder.

“Sallow.” You greeted, anxiety creeping up on you. You hadn’t interacted with him in over a year and so much has changed. You secretly longed for his companionship again..platonically of course. He turned slowly, a slightly nervous look on his face. You can’t remember the last time Sebastian was nervous around you, it had been so long. He paused, carefully piecing his words together, or lack there of,

“MC.”

It was officially the most awkward thing ever. You glanced over at Ominis and found him looking down at the ground while Natty watched and narrated. You felt this awkward pressure to keep Sebastian at a distance, but you didn’t know how. Sebastian looked over as well, unsure whether he should keep his promise to Ominis or try stepping over the boundary. You both looked back at each other in sync, a small smile creeping up on both of you. Maybe you guys haven’t changed as much as you thought. However, the awkwardness definitely had not stopped, both of you standing awkwardly in silence. The professor noticed this and marched her way over to you

“Come on guys! You’re costars! Costars must get to know each other and form that special bond! Chemistry is important you know! Come on MC, I promise he doesn’t bite!” She chimed, trying to break the tension between you too. You both awkwardly smiled, the poor woman had no idea the chemistry that was once present between you two.

You both continued to stare at one another, waiting for the other to make the first move. However, that was definitely not happening.

“Alright you two! I’m sending you both off to fetch some supplies for us! Normally that would be another team’s job…but it seems you two need an extra push. Go on now! Off you go!” She insisted, practically pushing you both towards the door and then out. On your way out, you glanced at Ominis, mouthing the words ‘I’m Sorry!’ So that atleast Natty could deliver the message for you. You felt terrible, you knew Ominis would be anxious but there was truly nothing you could do in this situation, and you definitely were not allowing Sallow to ruin the play for you.

The heard the door lock behind you once you were both shoved out with a piece of paper scribbled with items you needed. Of course. Now there was really no way out. You looked up at Sebastian, repeating to yourself how Sallow would not ruin this for you and reminded yourself to be the bigger person.

“Shall we go Sallow?”

He stayed quiet, choosing his words carefully “Lead the way L/N”. You smiled, looking down at the paper and shoving it into his chest as you passed by him. He smiled, laughing to himself, the spot you touched him feeling as though it was set ablaze. It was just like old times..
