Dodgers Blank Mets 8-0!

Dodgers 8 Mets 0 W-Kopech (1-0) L-Severino (1-1)

The Dodgers and Mets split the first two games of the NLCS in Los Angeles. The scene shifted to Queens for Game 3 tonight at Citi Field. The Dodgers were ready early as Max Muncy drew a lead-off walk in the second. Teoscar Hernandez hit a nubber in front of the plate and Francisco Alvarez threw to second and Jose Igelsias didn't catch the throw. Gavin Lux moved the runners up with a grounder and Will Smith reached on an infield single, which plated a run. Tommy Edman hit a sacrifice fly to center to double the Dodgers lead. Meanwhile, Walker Buehler navigated through four shutout innings. The Dodgers got some insurance in the sixth as Tommy Edman singled and Kike Hernandez knocked a Reid Garrett splitter out to left for a two-run homer. Los Angeles kept adding on in the eighth when Will Smith walked and Kike Hernandez lined a single to center. Shohei Ohtani crushed a Tylor Megill cutter out to right for a three-run homer. Max Muncy added a solo blast in the ninth and Ben Casparius threw two shutout innings. The Dodgers shutout the Mets to take a (2-1) series lead tonight.

-Final Thoughts- Walker Buehler pitched through traffic all night and threw four shutout innings. He gave up three hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Michael Kopech put up a zero in the fifth, Ryan Brasier got in and out of trouble in the sixth, and Blake Treinen struck out two in seventh. Ben Casparius fanned three in two scoreless innings. Max Muncy, Will Smith, and Kike Hernandez had two hits each. The Dodgers hit 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base. The Dodgers got to rest the bullpen in the last two innings, which was big with three games scheduled in a row. Tomorrow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will face Jose Quintana in Game 4.

Nubbers is finally eating a tiny bit and drinking when I hand feed him. I keep him warm and clean. Just gave him a bath and then took tweezers and took all extra shed off of his feet and tail. He has a wound of some sort on his head, from when he was MIA for months! I am treating it daily with some cream and Neosporin! He is my baby! So amazing I have him back. Twins Somehow Get Past Red Sox In 12th.

The Minnesota Twins have fallen on hard times during a (10-20) stretch in their past thirty games. The Tigers have caught them in the American League Wild-Card race and they started their last road series against the Red Sox tonight in Boston. A pitcher's duel broke out to start the night as David Festa and Richard Fitts threw up zeroes for the first three innings. The Red Sox rallied in the fourth when Tyler O'Neill drew a lead-off walk and Wilyer Abreu singled. Trevor Story lined a run-scoring single to center to start the scoring. Richard Fitts threw five shutout innings and the Red Sox bullpen held up until the seventh. Byron Buxton lined a one-out single to center and stole second base. Trevor Larnach singled and Carlos Correa reached on a fielder's choice to plate a run to tie the game at one. Both bullpens held up until the twelfth when Byron Buxton led-off with a single and Trevor Larnach hit a nubber back to the mound to plate Kyle Farmer. Carlos Correa drew a walk to load up the bases and Matt Wallner lined a run-scoring single to right. Willi Castro hit a sac fly to right to put the Twins up by three. Connor Wong knocked in the ghost runner with a grounder in the bottom of the twelfth. Trevor Story struck out swinging to end the game and the Twins picked up a big win tonight.

-Final Thoughts- David Festa threw a great game when the team needed him to. He went five innings and allowed a run on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Caleb Thielbar got the first two outs of the sixth and Michael Tonkin got out of the sixth. Cole Sands struck out teh side in the seventh, Jhoan Duran fanned two in a clean eighth, and Ronny Henriquez struck out two in the ninth. Louie Varland got four big outs, Scott Blewett put up a zero in the eleventh, and Griffin Jax gave up the ghost runner for the save in the twelfth. Byron Buxton, Trevor Larnach, Carlos Correa, Matt Wallner, and Royce Lewis had two hits each. The Twins hit 6-for-20 with runners in scoring position and left fifteen men on base. Tomorrow, Pablo Lopez faces Kutter Crawford in Game 2.
