It has come to my attention that there is to be a poll-based competition to determine the best alternate Omnitrix wielder. I will, of course, be reblogging the relevant polls when they are posted, because my loves we need to make this Argit vs Gwen in the finals!

Darlings, it does not matter! Even if we fail, we must try!

Gwendolyn, who doesn’t even get to keep her Omnitrix in a crime against her, cannot be allowed to fall behind interlopers such as Albedo and NoWatch!Ben!

Argit, who is criminally underrated amongst this fandom despite the host of possibilities he grants, must taste victory to bring balance and honor back to us!

There’s no doubt in my mind that Gwen, being the more popular of the two and focus of very popular AUs throughout the history of the franchise, will have plenty of you aiding her in the form of propaganda and bribes- as is encouraged by the runner of this competition- and so I will leave her in your capable hands!

But Argit, we sadly know, has fewer of us in his corner compared to several members of the competition, and so I call on all of those who are fans of the character, of the potential of the AU, of justice amongst this fandom, to join me in uplifting our rat in analysis, theory, fic, art, and of course- in his own spirit- as much bribery as we can manage!

As protests against a government built on systemic racism, police brutality, and the unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless black men and women continue to erupt across the world, we have been forced to reevaluate how we can all do better. This past week we have largely not covered any new music, as much of our staff has been out protesting and making their voices heard. And as Friday, a day typically reserved for new music releases and playlisting, rears its head, we wanted to approach our weekly #NowWatching playlist different.

it’s 2021 and i still have to deal with stupid comments on my stuff calling ashley seaver a jj replacement seemingly just because she’s Blonde like yeah That’s not insulting to Both characters whom you appear to view as nothing but The Blonde(tm) with no actual defining characteristics beyond that. 

When Seaver magically becomes the Media Liaison in my next rewatch i’ll give you that one, till then, bother to watch and you’ll notice she was actually put in Prentiss’ role, but go on, sure. 

And you know what? Ashley didn’t get much of an arc b/c cbs are sexist pricks who fired Nichols after asuring her she still had a job and didn’t even bother to Tell her before they announced it to press, but in her time on the show Seaver evolves from a woman who ended up where she was out of some misplaced guilt and urge to give penance for crimes she didn’t commit nor even Knew about when they were happening, and by the time she leaves she’s come to terms with the fact that it’s Not her fault and she has nothing to be sorry for. Not only that, but she’s come to terms with the fact that she can in fact have positive feelings towards her father because her time in the unit taught her these people actually Do have other characteristics than the evils they commit and she Doesn’t have to condemn herself for having feelings towards her father that aren’t total condemnation and hatred, as the memories she has of him aren’t necessarily some big fake story she’s painted in her mind. Sometimes you do everything right and you still don’t win, she learns she did nothing wrong, and she passes that wisdom on. 

Y’all are just showing your own biases by calling her a jj replacement, they don’t hold the same job, have little to no substantive similarities beyond their hair colour and their backstories are Very different, so very different, it’s hard to list their commonalities at all. It also leads to questions of how Exactly you view JJ and how poor the general perception of her as a character is if Seaver is actually tagged as a JJ clone by a bunch of you. 

(and, for the record yes she Was a Prentiss replacement which is why this is Deeply hilarious, Brewster was originally going to get the boot way earlier than she did in S6 and her and Seaver weren’t supposed to even meet, but they kept pushing back Brewster’s exit and they ended up in the show at the same time as each other. Again. Seaver was never a media liaison, if you’d remember that episode where they make Garcia fulfil that role it may help to remember they decided to ditch that role in the team full stop. After Seaver leaves JJ becomes a profiler, ironically replacing Seaver’s place on the team as profiler actively because she couldn’t return as the previously axed position of medial liaison, which just adds a while boat load of delicious irony into this whole situation... JJ is literally a replacement for Seaver, not the other way around). 

Though, for the record, hating one woman because she’s not a different one isn’t actually a valid reason to hate somebody either, like, when was the last time i ran into somebody with such great disdain for one of the guys because they’re not Another guy in the show? I can honestly say the only time i saw that was from the same nohotch/nowatchers who were also busy making twitter accounts trying to convince brewster to kill herself, so uh... we don’t call them valid.
