ok ive slept on it i feel like i can talk about the ep better now... basically whats craziest to me is that if any of it was intentional it could be so good. i dont think wed ever actually get a season where the bad kids r protrayed as in the wrong, but if they were a little more self aware the ways that theyve also been overtaken by rage could be seen. gorgug especially, and especially because it was channeled through porter's mentorship, who the bad kids can conceptualize as manipulating gorgug but not the rat grinders. its interesting because esp w/o their favorite npcs this season the bad kids have rlly closed in on themselves and become a lot more codependent, seeming to constantly suspect anyone new of possibly betraying them. which in a meta way makes sense, cuz its players v brennan, but in universe it comes across as crazy paranoid and cliquey and theyre just so unaware of it that any way it could have come across as interesting comes across as frustrating instead. like a lot of what they do and say to the rat grinders comes across as straight up bullying, and they genuinely seem to derive pleasure from putting them down. which again, in a meta way makes sense, but in universe it makes u wonder WHY were meant to find the rat grinders dislike of the bad kids so horrible when the bad kids hatred is justified. even kipperlily at her worst thoughts -- those are thoughts she shared in therapy. are we meant to begrudge a 17 year old girl speaking to her therapist about her feelings? not even actions, literally just thoughts in her head? that she was again sharing, and probably couldve worked through if not for magical interference, confidentially in therapy? were meant to hate ruben, who doesnt even LIKE kipperlily either, who didnt start becoming the person the bad kids seem to hate until AFTER he died and was magically resurrected changed. why? oh because hes an enemy and this is a battle episode and hes on the field. ruben acting in what is quite literally self defense and being told "you were a waste of time" and having no idea whats going on and responding "what do you mean? youre killing my friends!" i swear to god if that insight check on buddy hadnt been a nat 1 i think we honestly would have gotten a whole different episode

i am so glad that its not just me who went "hans landa has some homofag shit going on"

because see you all know im constantly on that yaoi cocaine so i thought it was just me being average anime fan again but HANS LANDA FROM INGLORIOUS BASTERDS IS A HOMOSEXUAL! what tipped me off personally is the fact that the entire movie hes incredibly confident and suave and never stumbles in his speech. his actor is purposeful with what he does and the only time he stumbles is when hes doing his monologue to rainer to propose a deal and says the name "hermann". I hadnt heard his voice falter or stumble in the slightest for the entire movie it really stuck out to me. And whats more is when hermann is shot that is the only time in the entire movie that Landa expresses any degree of genuine shock and weakness. Now this can be written off as him realizing that Rainer is not making good on their deal, but the thing is that he says "I made a deal with you gentlemen for that mans life". It's a very strange thing to say, since I think that Landas selfishness and ability to turn a blind eye to others suffering by accepting things because theyre not happening to him it is a key component to his character. Landa is not the type of man who would say that he made a deal for another's life in this situation. if he was only shocked about the deal being broken, he would just say that theyre breaking the deal, but not say a line that suggests that he thinks that the deal was more for hermanns life than his own. A thing that my bro (LMV) pointed out also is that in the beginning Landa says that he knows what people can do once they abandon their dignity. This is of course meant to be taken by the farmer as him being very knowledgable with the places that Jewish people could be hiding, but in the context of him being gay this gets a greater meaning since it creates a double meaning where he also is admitting that he understands because hes a "rat" himself. Landas character is a whole 'nother enchilada, but to boil it down he is an incredibly selfish man. He's not a monster with no critical thought and only vile hatred towards Jews fueling his engines; hes a human and a monster by choice. I think that theres a common misconception that showing the humanity in a horrible person = symapthy for that person because to me I think it only makes them more terrible in my eyes. Landa is a human just like us and couldve done the right thing, but he still chose the wrong thing to do. He could've pulled a hugo and done all he could to kill the nazis around him or sacrifice his life to not be apart of the evil regime or literally anything except what he chose to do, which was undoubtedly the worst option possible; become fucking colonel nazi. when i watch a supernatural horror movie I often cant bring myself to fully hate the demon because it feels like hating a tornado. Yeah i hate it destroyed my house and im scared of it but i cant really hate it since what did I expect its a tornade it was born to do that lol it cant really do anything else. but Landa doesn't get this pass and recieves my full unadulterated hatred. He isnt a monster with no critical thought who was born with no other drive than to kill and slaughter, he's a man just like all of us who actively choses evil because he's selfish and vile. Yes, he has motives. yes, it wouldve been much harder to do the right thing. but at the end of the day he still chose the wrong thing to do. and to me that makes him so so much more incredibly sickening because he couldve done good, but he simply continues to choose evil everyday because thats easier and more advantageous to himself than doing whats right. And in essence it would be incredibly in character of him to be a "rat" who acts as a "hawk" because he was born in a hawks nest, might as well play the part and stay within it. He is mentioned as a womanizer a few times, but I personally believe that Landa would create this rumor himself to put away any and all suspicion of him being gay, since I think thats the natural first thing someone would do if they were gay and trying to hide it.

He's a master of manipulation and words, so of course he's going to be able to keep the rumor solid with no leaks.

I just think that Landa definately was homofag for Hermann and personally like the movie a lot more with that in mind. Because not only does it add more meaning to his words and give you even more insight into his motivations and ideas and character (especially with the thought that he knows how it feels to be hunted. so instead of helping those who are being hunted he becomes a hunter himself) but also it makes the ending so much more satisfying. because personally I agree with literally everything Rainer says like I dont care i think all nazis should die and be tortured with no mercy they chose this fate when they chose to be a nazi. They have motivations for why, but we all have motivations for why we do the things we do. the right thing is almost always harder to do than the wrong thing and the matter of fact is that they chose to be a nazi instead of anything else in the world so they deserve no mercy. ngl im so glad rainer carved the swatstika on Landas head because I was going to throw a fit if Landa deadass just got off scott free. And i think it's actually a fitting substitute punishment to death too since Landa has to spend the rest of his days with a permanent reminder to everyone that he's a horrible person and suffer the consequences that come with being a horrible person (everyone hates him and hopefully punches nazis everyday SO TRUE!!!!). And i think if hermann was his lover thatd make his punishment even better. Since he had to witness the love of his life be shot before him and live the rest of his life knowing that he caused his lovers demise. His plan caused the only person in the world he loved more than himself to be killed and scalped and he just has to live with that forever now. its sooo much better i think that kind of torture is soooooooooo deserved tbh to me itd be a fate worse than death because id look at my hands and think to myself "i did all of this to make sure wed live together. and i still failed. what was this all for?". its so fucking well deserved ITS SO RIGHTEOUS!!! EVERY HORRIBLE THING LANDA DID WAS FOR FUCKING NOTHING BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY HERMANN STILL DIED! I still see people shitting on Techno for destroying L'manburg, saying how it wasn't actually corrupted and Techno is 100% in the wrong. But like, L'manburg has always been corrupted and I'm glad Techno helped with it's destruction.

Pre-L'manburg was a drug van and the territory they claimed was to keep people away from it. The walls were originally built to keep them safe from law and justice, not from war and outsiders.

L'manburg, while it was the best era, still was hella bad. It's self appointed president saw that his people didn't really listen to him, so he tried to rig an election. He failed and then when ahead to form a rebellion, forcibly take over, then bomb his own country.

Manburg's president exiled his political opponents to ensure power, killed a spy without a trail, and just didn't care for his citizens.

New L'manburg is arguably the most corrupted era of L'manburg, the Butcher Army was a group of individuals who's acted outside of the law to kill people they didn't agree with. And funny enough, everyone in that group all held a goverment position, the goverment was the Butcher Army.

They robbed one of their citizens and placed him under house arrest for refusing to sell out his friend, they dragged another citizen along with them in their crimes, and they tried to kill a man without a trail.

And I know that people want to see Techno face justice so they excuse the whole execution thing, but the dude could have at least been given seat in court to explain himself before they sentenced him to death.

There's also the argument that Techno refused to see the good L'manburg brought, but L'manburg betrayed him during he Pogtopia war, then later stole from his friend and dropped an anvil on his head. He doesn't have to see the good in country that's done nothing but harm him. And plus, the only good the L'manburg did was a ghost making the server a little prettier.

There was no economic benefit from L'manburg, no social benefit either since they all were already friends, and no real personal benefit for anyone besides the president and his cabinet. The only good that L'manburg brought was fun memories, nothing else, but even then L'manburg has far more bad memories tied to it then good so I'm not even sure if that counts.

I get the L'manburg holds sentiments value, but that doesn't exsuces it's crimes. I get that people want to defend it but all I ever see in L'manburg's defense is the same string-thin arguments being repeated. Until I see genuinely good point, I'm 100% on Techno's side, down with the goverment.

i rocked back into the couch, laughing at what chris had said. he was sat next to me, very comfortably, as we chatted amongst ourselves. we had been very close friends for a very long time and i was over the moon that he'd invited me to travel with them for this tour as the videographer. not only did i get to expand my portfolio but i also got to connect with my best friend and his band.

"okay but do you remember that one fall at the orchard when you tripped on that apple and ended up face first in the dirt?"

he laughed out and i sent him a shocked expression.

"i thought we agreed to never bring that up!"

i protested, the other guys around us sort of laughing along, them only half paying attention as they played a new video game. their focus was above our heads.

"but it was hilarious. i looked up for a split second and BAM! there you went."

he said loudly, being a little more expressive at the 'bam.' i shook my head at him.

"okay then, if we are ratting each other out about stupid shit weve done,what about that one time you got your hand stuck in the Christmas tree ties on your dads car?"

i said matter-of-factly. his eyes got wide.

"hey! that was an accident and you know it. we couldve taken my whole arm off!"

he said in his defense.

"i thought it was hilarious."

i said sternly back, smiling widely at him. he stuck his tongue out at me, a notion i gladly mirrored. then he grabbed me around the shoulders, pulling me to him. i screamed at the sudden motion, looking to vinny and rick who were sitting across from us for some guidance but they were to into the game.

ricky laughed out, looking at ryan for a second as he walked by. chris pulled me closer before licking a stripe up my face.

"ew!"

i said pulling away from him and wiping his saliva off of my face.

i said, grabbing his face and blowing raspberries into his cheek. he laughed incredulously, pushing me away from him.

he said mimicking my notion and wiping his face. i punched his arm lightly before swinging my legs into his lap, him holding them there and looking down at me endearingly.

i said back, shaking my head at him, nose scrunched.

he said, bringing his face closer to mine.

"i think im done for tonight."

vinny said suddenly, pausing the game. ricky sent him a look like 'wtf?' and watched him stand.

"im gonna go get some air."

he said and we all watched him walk off the bus.

"that was weird right?"

i asked and they all nodded. i had a good few chances to talk to vinny since tour had started and he seemed like a really cool guy. someone id be lucky to call a close friend by the time tour was over if not something more. part of me felt bad, like chris and i really where too much for him to handle in that moment. but this was how we always were. we practically survived our teens years together, losing touch for a bit but inevitably going back to the way things where when we found each other back.

"you guys mind if i go out there too?"

i asked and they all sort of shrugged at me, chris letting my legs go so i could stand. as i did i leaned down and kissed the top of his head.

"dont miss me while im gone."

i joked and he rolled his eyes at me.

"of course not."

i laughed a little bit as i descended down the stairs, pushing the door open and seeing vinny leaning against the bus.

"you okay?"

i asked softly, walking to him and rubbing my hands together. i had sort of forgotten how cold it had got. it was late fall after all but the bus was so warm and inviting i didnt even think about grabbing a jacket before leaving. i half shivered as i walked closer, his face being illuminated by the street lights outside the venue.

"uh yeah, everything's great."

he said a little condescendingly, kicking his foot into the gravel under him.

"im sorry if we were too much, i guess when we get together we have a tendency to overshare and its not for everyone. but i suppose thats what you get when youre comfortable with someone the way we are."

i tried to defend to him and he let out a short sigh-laugh.

"its no big deal, you guys really like each other. its cool."

i smiled.

"yeah, hes my best friend."

vinny nodded once.

"how long have you guys been together? i dont recall him ever talking about you before."

i drew my brows.

"together?"

i asked and he seemed just as confused as i was.

"look i get it, chris gets all the girls, being the front man and all."

he seemed a little jealous.

"but i dont think he ever mentioned you before tour started and then one day he told us about some girl coming on to film us. but clearly you guys are close so do you have like a, i dont know, like a open relationship type thing?"

i laughed a little bit.

"you think chris and i are dating?"

he half shrugged.

"well yeah, its kinda obvious."

i shook my head and took his hand in mine.

"vinny i can assure you that chris and i are just friends. if anything hes like the brother i never asked for nor wanted but got anyways. but life just does that sometimes."

he looked down at our connected hands and let go of me promptly.

"i guess it just doesnt seem like that."

he said a little hurt. i sighed and leaned against the bus next to him.

"it would be kind of weird to bring it up to him but i like someone else in this band, if you wanted to know."

i said, looking at him a little hopeful he was picking up what i was putting down.

"oh."

he said sadly. i sighed, i guess not.

"yeah, hes super cool, and nice, and ive really enjoyed connecting with him."

i shivered as the wind blew and he finally looked over at me.

"are you cold?"

he asked, ignoring what i had just said. i nodded a little bit, crossing my arms over my chest.

"just a little bit but i ll be fine."

he shook his head at me.

"no way, here."

he said taking his jacket off. at least he had long sleeves on. he placed his jacket over my shoulders, pulling it together in the front.

"thanks vin."

i said as we both returned to our positions against the bus.

"would your new dream guy do that?"

he half joked, i could still hear the venom in his voice. he was absolutely jealous. i thought it was funny because now he was jealous of himself.

"actually yeah."

he scoffed, hiking his foot up on the side of the bus.

"great."

he said looking away from me. i stepped closer and nudged him.

"he would because he just did."

he looked at me and drew his brows together.

"wait you mean?"

he asked, his face turning to that of shock. i nodded.

"god, yes. vin ive had a crush on you since i got here."

i laughed out.

"i didnt think you would like me back and then i realized just now that that was utter bullshit."

he half smiled.

"and whys that?"

he asked a little cocky.

"you were jealous of chris and that has only happened to me a handful of times in my life. once in highschool when my boyfriend said he would break up with me if i didnt stop hanging out with him. once when i graduated college and my then boyfriend accused me of sleeping with him. and right now."

he looked down a little ashamed.

"yeah i guess that wasnt fair of me to do. i just figured since you guys hit it off so fast that you were into him."

i laughed a little bit.

"dont get me wrong i love him with my whole being, but seeing someone go through puberty just does something to your vision of them ya know?"

i asked and he laughed back, nodding.

"okay, well if you really are into me, would it be stepping to far to ask you out?"

he said hopefully and i grinned widely at him.

"i would love that vin."

he sent me a tired smile in the dim street lights.

"may i also be so bold as to ask if i could kiss you?"

i let out a nervous laugh. i was really gonna let that happen huh? i nodded.

he stepped closer to me slowly, placing his hand gently against my cheek, running his thumb over it. his hands were rough and calloused from playing the drums so long but i didnt mind. it kind of felt nice. he looked deep into my eyes before leaning down and capturing my lips in his. all of a sudden it felt like home, like this was it, the thing id wanted for so long and never found. his other hand made its way to my waist as he deepend the kiss. i sighed into him, practically melting against his mouth like chocolate left outside in the sun on a hot day. when he pulled away he rested his forehead against mine and smiled like an idiot, one i gladly returned.

"fucking finally."

i heard from behind me, the bus door clicking closed. both of us turned to look, seeing ricky and chris standing there grinning from ear to ear. i had a mad blush splayed across my face now and was thankful that the light was behind me so it would be harder to see.

"how long have you been standing there?"

i demanded, walking to chris and punching his arm. he laughed in pain as he rubbed his arm.

"long enough to see the sparks fly."

he teased, pushing me back. i rolled my eyes at him.

"get your ass back in the bus."

i said opening the door and escorting him back inside. he made kissy noises at me as rick followed him up the stairs. i shook my head and turned around, jumping a little bit at vinnys presence behind me.

"rick had kind of been waiting for that for a while."

he said, looking up at the now closed door. i raised a a brow.

"oh?"

i asked and he sent me a bashful smile, scratching the back of his neck lightly.

"ive been crushing over you for a while too. and being jealous of chris just as long, rick's been pushing me to say something. i guess it just took one last little push."

he shamefully laughed out.

"at least now we're on the same page."

i said before standing on my tip toes and bringing him down to kiss me again, both of his hands going to my waist.

- He also got out! Only to be captured again. I wonder if he escaped because he wanted to deal with Emilia himself or if he just wanted to be out of naught monkey jail.

- We Wolf use this rope like weapon either, so either this is Wolf capturing him (likely motivated by Kipo in some way) or this is a new character that will teach Wolf how to use this weapon. I don’t think we’ve seen her use ropes for anything other than traps before. Stalky and those fight sticks were blundering weapons.

-Return of the dragonflies!

- Now did Dave convince them to help (since he speaks dragonfly) or did a frog lend them? If it’s a frog it could be Jamack since he knows his way around them, or it could be a mod frog.

-Also, Kipo and Wolf look some degree of pissed with determination. I’m not use to seeing Kipo be outright mad like this.

- When I was curious of seeing if we’d see more mutes like Dave, I didn’t mean it like this.

- The concept of multiple Daves, all be immortal/immune to dying by age is not only fuckin something, but it could also mean they have the key of filling in the history we’re not aware of.

GOD that’s such an emotional move, wanting to touch Kipo because it’s been heavily implied that was never a thing in mod frog society on the whole “no friends” basis. -The fact that Emilia and her crew were able to capture multiple different mutes in what we can assume is in a short time after the coronation is startling. She had a plan and it’s being executed well. She also has a lot more humans working with/for her which can’t be well.

- we see a scene where humans attack the Timbercats home and I do NOT feel well about it. Scooter Skunks were present there too so Idk if theyre helping Kipo or Emilia is forcing them to be on her side.

- Emilia and her gang are fuckin armed to the nines. Not only crossbows, but darts filled with chemicals, and fire and a boat!? Not only does this woman not care that she’s going to kill a child but she does not care about collateral damage.

- Overall, it’s a much more serious and intense feel. Just about every scene implies danger which is such a turn from the first two seasons where there was danger, but Kipo and Co were trying to enjoy themselves to a degree.

oh yes, definitely. get ready for me to take this ask way too seriously:

i would leave most of the first season as-is because i loved it. art is the making of meaning, and s1 proved that it's art. it realistically showed family relationships, friendships, and romantic relationships, had a whole plot about not trusting the government, and in general had a natural depiction of life and its stuggles, whether through a family in poverty fighting to stay together and safe, a teenage girl fighting her stereotypes, a group of kids being bullied and saving each other with the power of friendship, coping with the loss of a friend at a young age, etc. AND it synthesized lots of classic 80s movies into a dynamic show with lovesble and (mostly) three dimensional characters.

season 2 was good. it really steered into the aftermath from the last season, which was for the most part really well done, especially when it came to Wills PTSD and Mike and Nancys grief (not to overshare but i lost a friend when we were 13, and the way Mike acted in s2 was spot on. he was angry and detatched and wasn't acting like himself, and felt like he was the only one actually grieving when everyone else acted normal. that's exactly how i reacted too). however. my rewrites would include: keeping hawkins lab as clearly Evil and not trustworthy, having nancy and jonathan not get together like that because that was WEIRD, having Max be a lesbian because i said so but still have her really connect with lucas because that bus scene was perfect, have el be less interested in just finding Mike for the first part of the season and then doing the max mike el jealousy skateboard fall yikes and then just change gears completely and go to chicago But instead have Els arc be exclusively about family and how family heals by being a direct opposite of her time in the lab. that means that the episode with Terry and finding Kali would be less about Revenge and more about healthy ways of handling the past, because that would fit in with the main point of the season (recovering from trauma). that means i would've changed the climax of the season to somethin else (dont know what!), but i think season 2 went too big anyway and the supernatural aspects of it got kinda muddy to me. i liked wills possession though.

season three wouldve been COMPLETELY different if i was in charge. FIRST OF ALL. the mall. i think theres an easy way to criticize the commercialization and the big flashy advertising of the 80s while still having a poppy, fun summer vibe. they got my hopes up SO high with the crooked politician, small businesses protesting the big fancy mall, and fourth of july cold war stuff, and then they shot them down like a big weird human flesh monster being shot down by fireworks. my rewrites would include: actually having a commentary on commercialization and capitalism and america instead of having a fucking New Coke sponsorship in the middle of all the action, having a child talk about why she loves capitalism for no reason, having hawkins lab guy from s2 and the u.s. military come save the day at the very end, etc. ??? just seems like common sense to me? if you're making the show specifically about america while some UHHH politically relevant stuff is happening in america while making that season??? maybe say something about it. just a thought. wow. ANYWAY, now that im heated, heres other stuff i would change: give Will a personality please. touching his neck every 3 seconds saying HeS hErE got old and we know from s2 that y'all can do better. the whole mileven breakup and getbacktogether thing.. heres the thing. i dont care about it? also, hopper losing all the character development from the past seasons just to be mean to Joyce and Mike (and El, honestly) for dumb reasons was bad and infuriating to watch. also nancy and jonathans dynamic was weird. they could've done a lot with nancys character but they instead did almost nothing. and THE RATS i hated the rats. we had some baller theories for season 3 that were a lot better than that. remember the one where the mind flayer spores that came out of will in s2 were in the ice cream, because summer is hot and ice cream is cold?!!! that would've been COOL to see (pun intended), and would've been a way better way of infecting the townspeople if they were so married to the zombie thing. and the monster of this season being like a dog made of melted bodies with a thousand legs that just chased everyone everywhere and did pretty much nothing was really really disappointing. boo. i really like the supernatural parts of this show but they really gave me nothing this season (except for one badass car flip i guess!) anyway. heres things i liked about the season that i would not change: max and el friendship!!! lesbian ice cream sailor befriends loveable moron steve harrington!! karen isn't as awful as she could've been and actually gets to be a good mother!! and they at least attempted a human villain made more evil by the big bad evil thing, like jack torrence and the hotel from the shining. i thought billy going Full Evil couldve been done a lot better, especially by. not having. a. redemption. arc... but i guess i respect that they tried? lastly, i have no opinion at all of dustin this season, despite him being one of my absolute favorites in season 1. same with joyce
