Welcome now to Stefan's bedroom! 

This set includes 26 items to create a cozy and welcoming bedroom! You will find the same wood swatches and color from the previous Stefan's sets. I've also made a recolor of Domaine's beddings (double and single bed) to add a more diversity for beddings!

Special note, the stool is actually functionnal like a regular chair, but I've added a slot onto it, so you can use it as a small table too! I really like this piece, I had one as a child, like a lot of you i guess, and it was nice recreating this famous piece here!

Some items share the same textures so make sure to have the packages finishing by "texture" in your mod folder :)

As storytellers, realism and continuity are important to us, and they're sometimes hard to achieve within the confines of the game. I’m personally a big fan of posing Sims in open doorways, and unless you want to be limited to the CC options that exist, you’re stuck having to make some poor Sim walk in and out and pausing at just the right moment for the desired effect. But it’s actually very easy to edit a door in Blender to make your own open version!

I initially learned about "posing" objects from surelysims' Wicked Whims posing tutorial, which I highly recommend as a whole. However, it might be a little overwhelming to learn a whole new posing system for the sake of a screenshot or two, which is where this tutorial is meant to come in. Some of my explanations might seem overly simplistic, but I wanted it to be approachable even for beginners. I am far from an authority on using Blender or making CC, and I'm sure there are flaws in this process or easier ways to achieve certain things, but it works well enough for my purposes and I hope it will work for yours too. 💗

Now, onto the tutorial...

Figure out what door or gate you want to create an open version of. If it’s from the vanilla game, all you need to do is make note of its name. If it’s CC, find the package in your mods folder, make a copy, and paste it into My Documents > Sims 4 Studio > Mods. This will allow you to find it in S4S in the next step!

Open S4S. On the main screen, make sure “Standalone Recolor” is checked under the “Object” button, then click the button.

A new window should pop up (if it’s your first time doing this, it may take a while to load). At first, it will show every single object in the game. If you know the name of the object you’re looking for, you can use the search bar to find it. You can also use the filtering options to narrow the selection down by category, game pack, and whether it’s vanilla or custom content. Here, I’ve filtered the search to only base game doors. Once I find the door I want to adjust, I click on it and hit “Next.”

This will pop up a window prompting you to save a new file. Place it somewhere you know you’ll be able to find it easily later and name it accordingly. This file will ultimately contain your mesh edit, so you don’t want to lose it! I suggest placing it in a dedicated folder, on your desktop, or in your Mods folder directly.

On the next screen, you’ll be looking at the contents of the package itself. For this tutorial, you don’t need to worry about grabbing anything but the mesh. Click on the “Meshes” tab and then “Export Mesh.” You’ll again be prompted to save.

Open the mesh file you just saved in Blender. (If the view is funky to start, I recommend hitting 1 on your keyboard’s number pad to get a forward-facing view.) [It should also be noted I’m using Blender 3.6, so my screenshots and the location of certain settings may be different than in earlier or newer versions.]

You’ll see that there are actually multiple meshes involved (and the number can vary from object to object). Right now, we’re only concerned with the “rig.” If you’re familiar with posing, you’ll know that all Sims have a rig that is used to move different parts of their bodies around. Objects also have a rig, and objects that can open will have “bones” that control their moving parts. So click on “rig” and then change “Object Mode” in the bottom corner to “Pose Mode.”

Now, if you hit A on the keyboard, it will select all bones and you can see where they’re located. As far as I can tell, all doors have two bones that control their swinging movement. They both do essentially the same thing. I tend to stick with the top bone, which is called something like “bind_doorSwing.”

Pro-tip: If you’re having trouble seeing or selecting the rig's bones, you can change the view on the right side of the screen to “dope sheet.” Then when you save the position of the bones, just like when posing a Sim, by selecting all with A then clicking I and selecting “Location & Rotation,” the list of available bones will pop up there.

Rotate the door open using this bone or bones, if it’s a double door. On double doors, I recommend rotating each side individually rather than trying to rotate them together, as you may get unexpected results. You can use the R+Z combo on the keyboard to limit the direction of movement. (You can also use this in combo with numbers to swing them more precisely. For example, if you want a 45 degree swing, you can press R+Z+45.) Specifying the Z axis allows you to only swing the doors open and closed while restricting their movement in other directions.

Once you’ve got the doors swung open to where you want them, hit A to select all bones, then hit I and select “Location & Rotation” to save the position. (If you’re a poser, this maneuver is already familiar to you - and you know how important it is! If you skip it, the new position won’t save and the doors will revert back to closed.)

That’s it! You don’t have to do anything else to the mesh. Save your file in Blender. If you want to keep it separate from the original door mesh, save as instead and name it something different. (This is why you may want a dedicated folder, since the number of files does add up!)

Reopen the package you made earlier in S4S (or simply return to it if you’ve kept it open). From the same place you exported the mesh, you will now import the edited mesh. Hit “Import Mesh,” navigate to your edited Blender file, and you should now see your edited door replace the original. Since it’s the same mesh, all the swatches will still work perfectly with it.

You’ll notice that you’ve only replaced the “LOD 0 (High)” version of the mesh. When you click the drop-down menu, you’ll see that there are also medium and low detail versions, as well as shadow meshes at all levels of detail. If you’re only making an object for personal use, you don’t have to worry too much about LODs. You can probably just import the same mesh into LOD 1 and LOD 2 and be fine (so long as your computer isn't a potato). And if this is just for you, I honestly wouldn't even touch the shadow LODs.

The only other thing you might do is go back to the “Catalog” tab and alter the object name so you can find it easily in the game catalog. You can also edit the description, price, etc. if you so desire. Hit “Save.”

Test in game! If the package isn’t already in your Mods folder, move it there. As long as you didn’t mess with any of the tags, it should still be in the door section of build mode and work perfectly as a functional door. The door swinging animation will look different, and you could probably get rid of it if you wanted, but that’s above my current skill level and I don’t think it’s really necessary for our purposes. If all you need is an open version of a very specific door for storytelling purposes, it gets the job done.

These steps can also potentially be used to create open versions of other in-game objects like gates, books, chests/boxes, etc. I’m only just beginning to experiment with minor mesh edits, but once you get the hang of it they can often be faster and easier than trying to line up the best circumstances to get the perfect shot in-game. I might make more tutorials for small edits like this that help with storytelling realism and continuity in the future!

Sul sul! I hope everyone is doing well! 💜 I'm back with some totally original posters and a couple of announcements!

My daughter has been home for a few months now. She's healthy and happy, so I'm also happy. I'd planned to go back to work at the library this month, but that...did not pan out. So I've been busy working on some alternative avenues to support us.

This Simblr is almost three years old and I've always been adamant about never monetizing it. I still am. For me, this is all about having fun, sharing my creativity, and being part of an amazing community.

SO i made these humble edits of ios skin twoish years ago and figured i should give them a bit of a face lift by giving it the same treatment wisteria got: supernaturals to go with it, an edited lip texture, an eye set to go with it(2) and the tongue actually shows up now like intended!

i kept the shade range down to the essentials this time around, adding an extra light and extra dark shade to the defaults. 1 & 4 are io’s original colors, the rest is a variety of different trapping actions stacked onto one another.

NOTE: the zombie and vampire default come with an overlay mod! and the werewolf skins are correlated! please check out the hyperlinked instructions given by the respective creator ‼ also, these use the same packages as the original release of the skin, make sure to remove them first!

Super Pottery Set - Texture Completer Set

@clstldrmr83 recently asked for these texture files I was using for the @sunmoon-starfactory Dishware Controller packs, which reminded me that I actually did make them with matching the Super Pottery Set by @fireflowersims in mind and went ahead and did the recolor packs for that set as well. No point in holding onto them when they can be released now, right? Right!

You may notice that Reds, Blues, and Greens are missing from these and that as intentional as those colors already existed in the original pottery set textures, I just made a matching Blue Leaves one and then all the other color variations.

Bonus "Skyrim Glazed White" textures as well. All compressed. Textures base credits to Funktasm at Nexus Mods.

So I stared fresh with a new, sticker-style tribute of Tech! In his season 2 attire! He slayed it in his skinny jeans.

Sunday Morning Skinblend

Finally! My first skinblend. Although most of the credit has to go to Digi - I used her "Happy When it Rains" (style 2) skin as a base. The bodies are unchanged from Digi's originals. I just changed the faces. The faces feature @whysim Skin 42 eyelids courtesy of @serabiet, @lilith-sims's Buttercup nosemask and Golden Wings blush, @sixfootsims's tongue texture, @esotheria-sims' recolor of Tea Leaf's Azmarie lips, @pooklet's waterline and face shine, Digi's XOD eyebags, and @simnopke's subtle wrinkles for elders. There's also some shading on the cheekbones from a creator whose name I don't know, so thanks to whoever that is!

Keeping in the vein of naming skins after songs I was listening to when I made them - I dubbed this one "Sunday Morning."

-TU-EU all have fitness states! You can see them in the preview pics above.

-Elders have light wrinkles using Nopke's Subtle Wrinkles.

-comes in custom, geneticized, geneticized + towniefied, and Default versions!

-Youngins have more youthful faces! Here's a preview of the ages in the base tone.

-30 natural shades! All of Trapping's natural tones, select Alfred Askew tones (mainly the blue and green ones that I liked best), and cooler versions of the darkest Trapping tones. Every shade is tooltipped and the files clearly labeled.

Sonyasims Your Nature is a hair that was 4t2 converted by @entropy-sims. @brandinotbroke made a lower-poly version of it. Now I come to you with the FtM conversion of that lower-poly version, onto which I pasted all the recolors of the F version that I could find in @krabbysims invaluable database. None of the textures are mine, many thanks to the creators credited below.

All the hairs on this post are for CM-EM. The meshes are around 14.4k poly and retain the smooth-boning and animation of the F version.

The Dreams: hi pile three! I feel like you guys are not remembering dreams as much right now, or only remembering fragments. There are more nights where you feel like you didn’t dream. This is my pile that’s astral projecting at bed time, and this is part of why I picked up on less dreams (both purposeful and not. Some of you just started doing this). Whether through the astral or your dreams, you’re having adventures that are opposite your real life experience. The Dreams [CW for creepiness]: hi pile four! First I’ll say there was a strong link between this pile and pile 3, so if you feel drawn to it maybe check it out! You might also only remember little fragments right now. However, I feel you guys out of all the piles are having the most actual nightmares. my main is indeed bloodhound. i also whip out fuse, mirage, and to a lesser degree octane, but mostly i'm a one trick bloodhound. they were what got me into the game in the first place back in season 7 when i heard their 'i'm afraid of heights :(' voicelines (a cool hunter nonbinary character voiced by none other than allegra clark? sign me tf up), and even though i am Very Bad At Shooting and don't actually like battle royale-type games apex stayed my brainrot for over two years. the brainrot is definitely over now and these days i play it as a social thing, but that's how i acquired 2k+ hours lmao

also they released a magpiehound recolor called 'frosthaven' that i gleefully snatched up and have been wearing it ever since (ft the magpie holospray and the magpie mural on their latest map. i think they are catering to me specifically)

i am. truly Not Good. i am here just to clown and gossip and make poor life choices. my impulse control is too non existent for someone whose best skill is shooting a perfect outline around the enemy and not a bullet within

i had SO MUCH bloodhound art over on twitter good god. out of the following two drawings, the first one was bought out by allegra to sell as signed prints, and the second one was reposted onto apex's IG account, and in general this was the one time i genuinely had a blast on twitter interacting with all the devs and vas before everything went downhill both in respawn and on twitter lol. also i have to say, s10 and the whole White Raven thing fed me so. so so. SO well. the existential angst was incredible.

i participated in a couple of zines/projects as well! i have many thoughts about their canonical(!) respawn system and the resulting unimportance of death. adds to the existentialism and to bloodhound's religious themes

overall it was a very, very prolific period for me, and there are many pieces i'm still very happy with to this day

(^ the second to last one is a reference to the fusehound confession scene, and the last one is related to one of my fics, wooden bones (forest deity!bh au))

shipping!!! miragehound was my initial and most prominent ship, and i will never forgive respawn for not expanding on their backstory (their mothers worked together COME ON. they might have met as children! COME ON!!!!! i have a whole series exactly about the What Could Have Been)

their backstory with boone also fascinated me for a very long time, and my friends and i spent many a yap session dissing the dude until we stopped and thought, hey, what if he really was Just Some Guy who made mistakes, what if he wasn't evil, and that's what pulled me right back into the brainrot when i was already starting to slowly recover from it. boone now has a very elaborate backstory and lore and i hope to god respawn never puts him in the games the way we did because a) they don't GET him and b) i don't trust the fandom with him lmao. i'm super down to blabber about him though just say the word. he's everything to me, my big, sad, hairy man

we also invented in-game stuff for him. he had abilities and skins etc etc (the top row of skins is his titan pilot backstory + talos era + 'default' in-game skin)

this diptych still lives rent-free in my head, i think i really won with this one

where miragehound and boonehound flourished, mirageboonehound wasn't far behind! i wrote how it came to be and all. also Рorn. so much Рorn. seriously.

also this was the first time i redrew the twelfth night as my otp. the second one was mouthwashing

fusehound was an absolute delight to watch blossom, especially since we know it wasn't planned and just Kind Of Happened. i felt that lmao. characters be like that. i'm a bit sadge they shelved the whole talos plotline in favor of romance but at this point i gave up on expecting good lore from apex, especially after they fired herr frozenfroh. i didn't draw fusehound nearly as much, BUT i do have one fic that was basically a dream i had lol

honorable mention goes to revhound!! this is the ship that went really hard with artists and writers. deeply painful, deeply compelling, absolutely incredible. mindblowing angst and just as mindblowing рorn, together or separately. best shit. the one ship i didn't write for because compared to the fandom's behemoths i never felt like i'd be able to contribute anything meaningful lol, i just got to sit back and enjoy

apex and bloodhound also REALLY, REALLY got me writing. i came into the fandom already relatively warmed up after a 170k fire emblem fic, but i ended up writing 200k+ for miragehound, mirageboonehound, and fusehound combined. i was unstoppable. it was insane. i've linked some already but you can peep them all here. bloodhound's pov was especially fun to write for, purple prose my beloved

also you asked me about heirlooms! i'm a lucky motherfucker who managed to get one set of shards from the 500th box and another from just the random 0.4% chance. so i have bloodhound's and fuse's as they are my most played characters :)

@zerographic made 10 awesome recolors for it in 2013

FracturedMoonlight remade Kate's mesh so that it's Pets Compatible in 2014 🎉 but it doesn't pick up the recolors 😔

I slapped Zerographic's recolors onto Frac's remade of Kate's mesh 2 hours ago 🥳 somebody out there probably did this already but I couldn't find it so...

          4t3 Conversion of ICFB's Summer of '59 Set

A 4t3 conversion of a Barbie inspired set for all your sims, made originally by IceCreamForBreakfast, now to ts3!

As a preparation for the (surely iconic) Barbie movie releasing on the next couple of weeks, I decided to convert this super cute set which I downloaded as soon as I saw on my dashboard! Hope you like it! Enjoy! <3

Known Problems:

There are two seams on the bikini top that I have no idea how to fix. They don't show up on Blender, Milkshape, TSRW, and not even CAS. just in-game, which is so annoying. I hope they don't bother you!

NOTES (PLEASE READ):

This set is quite low poly, since with most clothes I baked the textures onto sims' bodies with thornowl's technique, and that's the lowest possible polycount for clothes. The accs are also low poly. The only meshed clothes are Ken's shirt and both rompers, which are also pretty low. The children's swimsuit's skirt is really low poly so I don't even consider it, and the hairs are also gameplay friendly, they're about 6K.

Some outfits (and the sunglasses) have some beachy and tropical vibes presets for you to choose from, including the romper's flamingo one and the children's swimsuit leafs one (main presets for both)! Of course, all of them have recolorable presets as well! I hope you like them!

The hat has three versions: one for adults, one for children and one for toddlers. They're all unissex and hat-slider compatible! I adapted the adults' version to the Brigitte hair, so it'll fit nicely without having to move the sliders!

The sunglasses have two versions: a regular one, that works just like usual glasses, and one that works like a hat, which means you can move with the hat slider. As seen on the preview, I already adapted it to the Barb hair, but you can use it on whatever hair you want with no problem!

Now come on Barbie let's go partyyy!
