Finally using up the oregano stalks I dried the last time I moved house. I let them sit in the dyepot for a couple days on a low heat and then another day or so while I tried to figure out what to use it on. Settled on the recently frogged bulky sweater yarn, since 1) it's white which is really the only color I will never make a sweater out of, so any other color would be a distinct improvement, and 2) I don't really know what color dried oregano stalks give, especially 18 month old ones.
Mordanted with copper directly in the dyepot with the dye. I've been throwing in one skein at a time to try and get some variety. First one seems to have come out light brown after just a couple hours in the pot, so I'm hopeful I can dye all the skeins, and maybe some of the ones I leave in longer will get darker. Light brown is fine tho. Goes well with dark brown, which is the other color I've already got for this sweater, from the Jacob's fleece part.
I also finally finished plying the last of the yarn. I spun all the old rolags and had partly plied it when I gave up on my wheel. Came back to it only because my roommates moved my wheel and the drive band (cotton at the time) came off. I put my old drive band (rubber ? Idk, stretchy grippy plastic) back on and it spins way better than it had been.
This doesnt surprise me a ton, I had suspected that I was having an exceptionally hard time treadling bc the yarn was clearly just sliding along the wheel rather than turning the flyer sometimes. Im glad this helped, I can kind of spin again on it now that it takes less effort. Not much, but at least enough to ply a hundred yards or so. Idk how much longer that'll last. Maybe I could still use my floor loom, too. Of course, I would have to finish warping it to try 🙄.
#really hoping the partially threaded warp will survive moving#also hope the loom will survive moving. the front roller is super fucked up and i never did figure out why#it just falls off sometimes#also did a little more packing and took down my foldable desk so i could relocate the boxes there which has been nice#and was able to finally see if the height works with my powerchair which it does !!! yay#now i will need a new desk for the computer but wont need a table for prepping food which i was stressing abt#natural dyeing#oregano stalks#spinning#bfl cross

Assistant's head hurt from looking at the screen all day. Their eyes burned, and they closed them for a few seconds. It didn't help much though. Their eye drops were already empty, but they couldn't find the time to go to the pharmacy and buy new ones.
They let out a long yawn. God, making the schedule for next week so their boss ahd at least some free time wasn't easy. So many meetings and appointments... An one hour brake every day just wasn't enough...
They took a sip of their coffee- their fifth one that day- and looked down at their notebook. They only needed to make a few more calls... Maybe they could move some of the appointments to the week after..? But that would mean more calls, more work and less sleeping.
They couldn't say when they fell asleep, but they woke up on the couch in their office with a warm blanket over them. A steaming cup of tea sat on the small coffee-table.
"Good morning", said a deep but calming voice. Villain was sitting at their desk, looking through their notebook, their messy notes and all their open tabs on the computer screen.
For a few seconds, Assistant didn't know what was going on. "Good morning", they yawned.
Villain smirked. "Feeling better now that you've slept a little?" They wrote down something on a light blue sticky note and pressed it against the whiteboard.
"Yeah..." Assistant sat up, rubbing the sleep out of their eyes with the back of their hand. They took the tea and sipped on it. It was a little bitter, but not bad.
After a few moments of silence, villain spoke up. "I saw that you were sleeping on the security cameras, so I moved you somewhere more comfortable." They typed something into the computer. "Looks like i wont have much free time next week."
Assistant wanted to get up, but their head started to spin as soon as they stood, so they sat back down. "I tried", they croaked.
Their boss hummed, low but, in a way, comforting. "No worries. I'll see if I can move some meetings around and make some time for myself." They typed something again. "Lay back down and get some more sleep."
"I'm not tired anymore", assistant yawned, making their lie even less believable than it already was. They heard villain chuckle.
"I'll only make a some calls, Right hand will handle moving the meetings. You don't have to do anything. It's not like you're awake enough to finish any work anyway."
Assistant let out a sigh, and murmured a faint "thanks" before flopping back down on the couch. As soon as their head hit their pillow, they fell asleep again.

They Hung Up
Masterlist
Summary: August can always fix your problems, especially when someone is ripping off his princess.
Warnings: fluff, ddlg, daddy kink
A/n: inspired by my chat with ebay this morning. Apparantly ebay will charge buyers import and customs VAT on items that aren't even being imported into the country... or going through customs. And they don't charge this at checkout they only charge it when they take the actually money. When i told the lady thats stealing your taking more then the agreed amount from my bank she hung up on me telling me to 'speak to the tax office'
Taglist: in reblogs.
"No but you cant charge import tax on something that isn't being imported.... No they cant that's illegal look I just want my money beck for the tax-what do you mean no?!... Hello? Hello?" You could have cried you were so angry and upset. You closed locked your phone screen and sniffed shaking your head in frustration.
"Princess what's wrong?" You snapped your head to your daddy, august was scowling. You could see the aggravated look as he took in your tears. Your daddy never liked you wasting them on other people. Your sweet pure tears were only meant to be shed for him! Every droplet was his to pull from you, be it tears of rapturous pleasure or shed from being spanked for being naughty.
"August? I? they hung up on me!" You hissed quickly running over to him tucking yourself into his thick frame pressing your head into his chest trying to soak in the smell of his aftershave. The spicy scent was heady and a little overbearing, you could tell why. Under the spice was the metallic twang of blood and deep sooty smell of fired bullets. You both loved and hated it, as safe as it made you feel remembering just who and what he was if frightened you, one day he could be hurt.
"Who? Sweetpea?" He purred softly needing to calm you down before he could make heads roll. His arms encircled you squeezing you tightly and he rested his chin on your head the began swaying with you slowly.
"The support desk! They charged import tax! And nothing was imported! Daddy I was careful and-and I checked and double checked there was no warning not on check out or nothin' then they took another ten dollars on top and now my bank is angry and charging me for going over!" You said quickly panicked that he would be mad at you for spending too much again.
"Okay pumpkin slow down... Tell daddy what's going on slowly... Don't miss anything out okay angel" he said pulling you back a little to let you catch your breath. But you quivered and opened your mouth wiping at your eyes before trying to argue.
"Yeah but!?"
"Shh shh no buts take a deep breath... Now out, good girl now start from the beginning" he coaxed slowly cooing at you as you took a few breaths and calmed, settling down n his arms feeling safe and secure, even if you were still angry.
"I got that lamp with the shelves... It was fifty four dollars and ninety nine cents" you started explaining from the beginning and waited for August to nod.
"Yes I know, I remember you showing me to see if it would fit in the corner" he spoke remembering the little pull cord box lamp and three shelves, you wanted it for the internet router and house phone to sit on so you had more room for snacks on the side table.
"Well I got it and paid but then when paypal billed me they charged sixty four dollars and ninety-nine cents... I messaged them and they said it was import tax!" You cried out getting yourself all angry again, cheeks puffing out sweetly as you huffed and growled even throwing you hands up in frustration. August made to speak but you continued your tale of the mean support desk and their money thieving ways.
"I looked it up and cos its coming for inside the state I don't have to pay! So I called and they said I had to because the shop was registered outside of the USA! But its wrong! They're wrong and when I asked for my money she hung up on me! She said I have to talk to the tax office people!" August frowned that wasn't right and he knew it. It was clear you were being taken for a fool. These bastards were at it all over the place he'd seen some of it on the news, instead of tax evasion as we know it there was a new crime. Stealing tax from buyers and classing it as profit. Because its tax most people don't question it.
"And then my bank sent me this! Saying I was over my limit and in the minus! So now they are taking twenty dollars when my next allowance goes in!" You cried quickly pulling up an email on your phone from your bank showing a notice of charges you now had on your account.
"Its not fair I didn't do nothing wrong daddy but now I'm loosing the tax and twenty dollars of my allowance!" You yelled and began sniffling again your lip wobbling. His heart melted as he watched you try so hard not to break down and cry again. You were being his big brave girl.
"Okay pumpkin i will sort this out give me the phone" he said plucking the phone from you then turned around heading to his office.
"But you cant! Its a withheld number-" you said sniffling following him one hand fisting the back of his jacket as he strode through the pent house to the secure room.
"Oh come on sweetheart don't tell me I'm going too soft and you've forgotten just who your daddy is~" he cooed opening the door and ushering you to the small teepee in the corner that had a large iPad and a few fuzzy scatter cushions .
"Go sit and watch YouTube or something okay? Let daddy fix this mess" he said pulling your headphones from the drawer and handed them to you ushering you to the small cozy spot he had made you.
You watched as he plugged your phone into his computer and made a few quick clicks before picking up his own phone and dialled a number with a smug look the clicked his fingers at you pointing to the headphones wanting you to pop them on and stop worrying. You pouted but slipped on the large pink headset and pretended to loom at your screen and select a video in reality you were listening to your daddy.
"Yes you wouldn't recognize it. How? Well this is a government number, you just told a young lady to inform us about taxes?" You flicked your eyes up at him grinning hearing the professional growl to his voice the 'daddy means business' tone that made you quiver with want and fear. It never meant good things, most of the time he used this tone when you were a bad girl. You only hoped the mean woman on the phone felt bad now too.
"Why yes, yes she did a miss y/n yes that's her. I would like for you to put me through to head office" you bit your lip hearing him begin his assault. No one not even the lady on the phone and her jargon would out smart your daddy!
"Pardon me I'm sorry I'm Mr Walker...I work for the tax office in her state and have decided to open an investigation about tax fraud over the issue, we have had many complaints... oh yes she informed us of everything, she was distressed over the tax miscalculation? Which has caused her to go over drawn on her account and incurred charges" he spoke firmly and turned looking to you as you giggled watching him in his huge leather spiny chair. You gasped when he frowned and pointed a finger to your iPad clearly telling you to stop being nosey and watch your videos.
"Yes I am aware of that but the shop is registered overseas, it doesn't export from overseas... so there is no international import tax due." He continued spinning around in the chair making a few notes on the large paper pad in front of him.
"Yes that's why I'm calling I've been on your website and your policies are in fact breaking the law and infringing on the rights of consumers. Do you understand? What you have done is illegal and fraudulent and I can see it isn't the first time so I would like to speak to your head of office now- thank you" you quickly looked down as August spun once more and grunted at you pointing to the door with a scowl catching you eavesdropping again.
"Poppet either watch your videos or go and have some lunch" he said covering the mouthpiece on the phone making you pout and flick your legs at him and cross your arms stubbornly. You wanted to watch!
"Decide or I will decide for you" he said raising his brows at you but you just huffed pleading with your eyes at him to let you stay and listen.
"Right lunch it is come on up! Off you pop go make a sandwich and have some juice" he said holding out his hand for the headphones.
"But I want to see you tell them off daddy!" You huffed non to impressed at being set out of the room so quickly.
"No, now do as I've asked daddy will be out in a few minuets this wont take long" you held his gaze for a few moments before you lost your nerve then stood with a pout handing him your headphones and left the room closing the door when you were told to.
It was twenty minuets alter August came put of the office and padded to the kitchen seeing you at the breakfast bar swinging on a chair whislt munching a chocolate spread sandwich a few candy wrappers on the side and packets of chips and un touched apple. He sighed giving you the stink eye but didn't say anything. You found a loop hole he said lunch and sandwich... he hadn't specified what type of lunch and sandwich.
"All sorted poppet! Your being refunded and getting compensation which will be debited into your account in forty eight hours" he said rounding the breakfast bar snatching the apple opening the cutlery drawer fishing out a knife.
"That's quick daddy... I thought they can only do it in five days?" You asked watching as he sliced the apples and began cutting the core out for you.
"Oh princess its amazing what people can do when they think the big bad tax man is on to them~" he chuckled at your face as he placed the apple on your plate. You didn't want to eat it but you would . Quickly. Because if you left it too long itd go brown and you would whine about it, get a warning and end up having to eat it anyway.
"Will you get in trouble? you pretended to be the tax man daddy" You said cautiously lifting a small apple wedge to your mouth and nibbled it.
"Me? Of course not daddy has many different identities love, and I can use them when I want love... besides we just uncovered a company that not only evades tax but it stealing it!" He grinned. If there was one thing he liked it was justice. Everyone should pay their dues. Especially someone who rigs a system to benefit themselves.
"And.. My bank charges?" You asked still unsure if he will be mad a you for over spending...Again
"All gone, daddy will cover them princess; now just how much chocolate spread is in that sandwich?" He said leaning over your plate trying to pry apart the two slices of bread.
"Err a little" you shrugged still eating your apple whist trying to smoosh your sandwich and hide the super thick chocolatey layer.
"Mm hmm there's more chocolate then bread poppet~" he hummed unimpressed but let it slide, again you'd found your loophole, the last thing he'd do is punish you for being a smart ass. It could save your life one day.
"Sorry daddy" you said whilst pulling the plates closer to yourself protectively worried he would steal our chocolate.
"Oh don't be poppet once its gone its gone its you that will miss it not me" he chuckled and spun around crossing the kitchen to make his own lunch. You grinned happily, what had been a bad day was getting better and better! You were getting your money back, compensation, your daddy was paying your and charges and you got to keep your chocolate spread! What more could you ask for? Well there was one more thing you could ask for.
"Daddy can I have a puppy?"

Heya, it been awhile XD
As always, I've been enjoying your fluffy snippets, but if you're up for some angst...
Ruby is a newly graduated Huntress following up on a child trafficking ring in Mistral m, which ends up taking her to Atlas. There she stays at 'The Glass Unicorn' and meets a maid called 'Cinder'. A woman who has long given up on her freedom and what it means to be a Huntress...
Otherwise, if you're still enjoying the fluffy side of things, some fluffy BeesSchnees is always good XD
Ruby sighed as she looked between a paper in her hand and to the hotel standing in front of her. For a moment, she was a bit confused on what The Glass Unicorn had to do with any sort of child trafficking ring. However, the name of the woman who owned this place came up more than once on the ledgers of that old barn. And if she wanted answers, she was going to need to start her.
Rain started to pour from the sky as Ruby walked into the hotel, pausing for a moment as she felt out of place. Sure, there were hunters and huntresses from all over, but even for Atlas standards, this place was higher end. Everywhere she looked, all she saw was an excuse for wealth to be displayed. Once she regained her composure, she walked up to the front desk. “I need a room.”
The blonde woman looked Ruby over for a moment before noticing it was a huntress in front of her. With a few quick clicks on her keyboard, a card popped out of her computer. “Room 402. Meals will be brought straight to your room. And dont bother talking to the staff.”
Ruby looked at her curiously as she took the card. “Why not?”
The woman looked directly into Ruby’s eyes. “Its not their job to talk to anyone.”
Ruby sighed and put the card in her pocket, turning to start heading up the stairs. She looked around as she walked, all the patrons seeming to enjoy everything the hotel offered. It all reminded her of why she was doing this: to try to make the world a better place. And right now, Atlas was not that better place.
Ruby watched a few of the staff bring out meals to the patrons, along with anything else they needed or cleaned up any messes that were made. The longer she watched, the less convinced she became that this hotel was going to be the link to this ring. Everything she found always became a dead end and this last lead of hers seemed to be no different.
“What do you think you’re doing?!”
Ruby looked up at the third floor, watching one of the patrons yelling at one of the maids. She tried to get a better look, making her way to the stairs on the opposite side as she watched the maid drop to the ground to pick up the food that fell on the ground.
“I’m sorry, I didnt mean to-”
“Didnt mean to what? Give lousy service?” The patron spat at the maid, pushing past her and knocking her over. “Lousy maid bringing over half cooked food…”
Ruby watched the maid move her hair out of her face as she started to scrub, hearing a small sigh escape from the girl. She felt sorry for the girl, walking over to her. “Ah… miss… I was hoping I could ask you something.”
The maid didnt look up, seemingly avoiding eye contact with Ruby. “I-I’ll make sure your room is cleaned once I’m finished here.”
Ruby knelt down and picked up some of the fruit that had spilled. “That’s not what I was going to ask about. I was hoping you might be able to answer a few questions I have about this place.”
The maid stopped and slowly looked up at Ruby with tired eyes. “Y-you’re a huntress…”
“I am. What is your name?”
“Cinder.”
Ruby smiled and extended a hand to Cinder. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Cinder smiled for a moment, then it quickly disappeared as she quickly started to work again, keeping her head low. “I’m… I’m not allowed to talk to you. Please, go to your room and I’ll bring you your meal.”
Ruby was about to speak until she heard a voice coming from behind her.
“Cinder, you’re needed in the kitchen.”
Ruby watched as Cinder stood up and started hurrying off past her, making her way downstairs. “Do your staff always get treated like this?”
The woman from the front desk stood behind Ruby, shaking her head. “Only that one. She’s a bit of a… problem. The only reason I dont fire her is because she’s one of my daughters. She knows she’s only to be seen, not heard. I’ll make sure she wont bother you again.”
Ruby watched the woman turn around and head back downstairs towards the kitchen after Cinder. At this rate, even if this ended up as a dead end with the trafficking ring, then maybe there was something else that she could fix.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cinder winced a bit as she brought a tray to room 402, doing her best to keep from moving the collar that was around her neck. Everytime she messed up, all she could feel was that familiar sting. And every time, it hurt. She adjusted a small cloth she had around her neck, hiding the scars from the collar. She quietly knocked on the door, praying that whoever was in this room wasnt going to treat her like the rest of the patrons did.
Ruby slowly opened the door and smiled a bit at Cinder. “I was wondering when you’d come around.”
Cinder looked away a bit, holding out a tray to Ruby and staying quiet. The pain from her last punishment still lingered around, and she was terrified to be caught talking to anyone now.
Ruby noticed and sighed, taking the tray. “If you’re not going to talk right now, then maybe you can help me out with a few things in my room. There’s a few spots that could use a bit of cleaning.”
Cinder nodded and slowly walked into the room, pausing once she saw Ruby’s weapon laying down on a table. It wasnt the first time she had seen a hunter’s weapon within easy grabbing, and wasnt the first time she had the desire to reach out for it.
Ruby noticed and walked over, picking up her weapon and smiling a bit. “Like weapons too? You can hold her if you’d like.”
Cinder hesitated for a moment, wanting to reach towards the weapon. She stopped half way and sighed and she pulled her hand back. “I… cant.”
“Why not?”
Cinder didnt answer, looking away from Ruby. She didnt know how to tell a huntress that she had to get away from her family. That she’d do anything if it meant not being with them anymore.
Ruby sighed and sat Crescent Rose down. “You… wanted to be a huntress at one point, didnt you?”
Cinder froze on the spot. The thought had occurred to her, and there was that one huntsman, Rhodes, who taught her a few things, but he disappeared when she was younger. “Y-yes… but its… more than that…”
“I’m not sure I understand.”
Cinder looked around nervously before pulling down the cloth around her neck and pulling up the sleeves of her outfit. Scars lined her wrists while one scar circled her neck exactly where her necklace, the collar she wore, sat.
Ruby frowned when she saw the scars on Cinder, picking up her weapon and heading out of the room. “Stay here.”
Cinder nodded and sat down, terrified about what was going to happen. She had spent years trying to figure out how to get away from the madam, but all of her attempts at obtaining a weapon to get away had failed. And now, an actual huntress had seen the marks that had been left, the reminders of each of her failures on running away, each mistake she had made while working.
It wasnt long before Cinder heard muffled shouts from outside the room, her sisters and the madam clearly angry at Ruby. She cowered a bit, thinking she knew exactly what to expect: Ruby was going to let the madam in just like everyone else. She’d believe the lies that were told, that she was a troubled child that was taken in by the gratitude of the madam’s heart, that she was a thief and a liar that everyone had to keep an eye on. Even after the shouts died down, she still waited, flinching as she watched the door open.
Ruby rushed into the room, blood dripping from her scythe as she grabbed her things. “Cinder, you’re coming with me.”
Cinder felt a bit confused, hesitating for a moment. “You… want me to come with you?”
“Well, currently you’re unemployed and have nowhere to go. You can either stay here in Atlas, maybe find your way down to Mantle and find a job, or you can come with me and I can help you become a huntress. I can at least teach you how to defend yourself and others from the grimm, maybe even help you take the exam for your hunter’s license. Give you a new start.”
Cinder was still a bit confused, but followed after Ruby, pausing as she saw the madam laying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. “You killed her…”
Ruby sighed as she kept walking. “She attacked me first. I thought all of this was going to be a dead end, but it seems like I ended up on the right track after all. I know you were bought through a child trafficking ring, and I know you’re not the only one she had purchased. If you can help me get a bit more proof, I think I can put an end to this. I know its a bit late and there isnt much I can do about what had happened to you, but I can at least help you with your new freedom now.”
Cinder sped up to catch up to Ruby, sticking close to her. “But why help me? I’m… I’m just a nobody. A kid that was sold into this life. I dont deserve any kindness.”
“Because if I cant help someone, then what’s the point of being a huntress?” Ruby stopped for a moment, pulling out her scroll and holding it up to Cinder to take a picture. “And besides, the world is already cruel enough. I think its time we try to make it a better place.”

Stockholm syndrome - read on ao3
Tagging: @lokitonypeter @just-things-things @thegreenmetblue @someonepostedart @andacheesyoneliner @bluestarker @lilcoffeecup @useless-fanfictions-for-mcu @tnpt @sarcastich
Sorry, I meant to put this on a scheduled post and it posted anyway so I'm reuploading it.
*-*
Peter doesn't know what he expects when he walks into the interrogation room, but its not Tony Stark.
The man had been missing for over a year -his case now collecting dust with the other cold cases.
The man who once owned Stark Industries -the man who was nominated hottest man alive five years in a row, most eligible batchelor, billionaire playboy.
Peter has seen him on TV, had read the tabloids, the magazines. Tony Stark was worshipped by most, and many people claimed he was taking over the world with his high tech weapons.
The man Peter was looking at now was not that Tony Stark. This man was thin, malnourished, pale. His hair had grown out from an obvious at-home cut, his face scruffy with an unkempt beard.
He was wearing ratty jeans held up by a belt that looked ready to snap at any second, and a tshirt that looked like it hadn't been washed in years.
Peter didn't know what to do. What to say. He shut the door behind him, making his way over to the once-great man.
The man that had been missing for nearly two years.
"I'm detective Parker," Peter started, keeping his voice soft as he sat down in the chair opposite Tony, setting the file down in front of him.
The man didn't even acknowledge Peter. "I'm with the New York police department, I'm gonna be in charge of your interview. Can I get you anything to drink? Are you hungry?"
He waited for Tony to respond, but after a while it was clear he wouldn't.
"Can you tell me what happened the day you went missing?"
The man is hunched in on himself, looking down at the table between his wrists.
Peter sighed. "Hey, Tony, its alright now. You're safe here."
"M'not."
Peter almost missed the mumble. He sat up a little straighter, leaning into his elbows on the table.
"He's not going to get you here," Peter said, trying anything to get the man to open up to him.
"Yes," the man whispered. "Yes he is."
"I promise, he wont," Peter said. "You're safe here. No one will get you."
This time, the man lifts his eyes, looking at Peter with a desperate gleam.
"He's gonna come back for me," he said, voice gaining volume as his hands begin to shake. "He's coming for me."
Peter shakes his head. "He wont-"
"He promised!" Tony snapped, slamming a first onto the table. Peter jolts, eyes widening. "He promised he'd come back for me."
Tony's eyes fill with tears and he quickly wipes them from his cheeks as they fall.
"Tony," Peter said, feeling his chest tighten. "He's not going to come back for you."
Tony shook his head. "No, no, you're wrong. Beck-Beck told me he loved me. He told me- he's coming back for me."
"Tony, he didnt love you, he abducted you," Peter explained, voice soft with sympathy. "He left you. He's not coming back."
"He is," Tony says wetly, sniffling as tears flowed freely from his eyes. "Hes coming back, he told me he'd come back. He loves me. We're in love, can't- can't you see?"
Peter doesn't know what to do. He's never had a case involving stockholm syndrome before. But Tony's getting upset, and there's a strong chance he'll get violent.
Peter -thinking quick on his feet- decides to change tactics.
"I believe you," he says, watching as Tony settles at his words, blinking at Peter. "I believe you, Tony."
Peter glances down at the file in front of him before pulling out a sheet of blank paper and settling it on top of the closed folder.
"How about I help you find him," Peter suggests softly. "He probably doesn't know you're here, but I can go get him."
Tony glances around the interrogation room, realizing what Peter means.
"Yes, I want Beck," he says.
"Okay, good," Peter smiles. "I can go out and find him for you, and bring him here. Do you know where he lives?"
"He doesn't want anyone to know," Tony shakes his head. "He gets upset when people come to the door."
Peter nods, faking understanding. "Do you think if I told him I knew you, he'd come to the door?"
Tony seems to think for a moment before nodding. "Yes, he will," he says. "Beck is probably looking for me. He's probably so worried. I never leave the house. He's probably wondering where I am."
"Where do you two live?" Peter asked. "Do you know?"
Tears fill Tony's eyes as he shakes his head.
"Thats okay," Peter reassured. "He drove you, didn't he? You guys drove to the park, right?"
Tony nodded. "Yes," he said. "Beck wanted to have a special day."
"Good," Peter smiled. "Thats good. Do you know how long you drove for, before you got to the park?"
"I don't know."
"Thats alright," Peter said. "Do you know what kind of car he was driving? So I know if I see it?"
"Uh," Tony tapped his fingers against the metal table with anxiety. "Blue, and, and it was a truck."
"A blue truck," Peter repeated, writing it down. "Did it have a logo on the front? Maybe on the steering wheel?"
"I don't remember," Tony shakes his head, tears welling in his eyes again.
"Thats okay," Peter smiled. "You're doing great, Tony."
"I just- I just want Beck, please, I want to go home."
Peter feels his heart break at that, but he forces himself not to show it.
"I know," Peter nods. "I'm going to do everything I can to get him here, okay? I promise."
Tony gives a small nod, wiping at his eyes.
"What does he look like?" Peter continued. "I'll need to know who to look for."
"Uh, tall," Tony said. "Almost my height."
Peter gets a rough description of the man -Beck- from Tony. It takes lots of clarifying questions, but he gets enough to work with.
"Okay, thank you Tony," Peter smiles. "I'm going to have someone bring you some food and a blanket, okay?"
Tony looks up as Peter stands, tucking the file under his arm. "You're going to find Beck?"
"Yes," Peter nods, heading for the door. "You stay here, okay? Someone will be in soon with something to eat."
He shuts the door behind him and locks it before leaning his back against it, heaving a sigh.
"How'd it go in there?" Rogers asked, stepping over from the bullpen.
"He's bad," Peter sighs, stepping away from the door and running a hand through his hair. "I got a description of the man and the vehicle he was driving. I want to get a BOLO out on both."
Rogers nods, glancing at the door before following behind Peter.
"Do you still have the number of that psychologist? The one that works with victims of stockholm syndrome?"
"Yeah," Rogers nods, rifling through his desk as Peter drops into his chair. "You think the guy's sympathetic to his captor?"
"He's in love with him," Peter sighs, filling out a BOLO from his computer.
"Jeez," Rogers whistles.
"Give the psychologist a call, have her come over as soon as possible. The sooner we get Tony to realize what's wrong, the better. I'm going to work the streets, see if I can find this Beck guy."
"Sure," Rogers says, picking the phone up from the receiver and pinching it between his shoulder and ear as he types.
"And see if we can get him a sandwich or something," Peter said, already heading for the door.

The Case of the Blue Sweater | Tom Hiddleston
Pairing: Mob!Tom Hiddleston x cop!reader
Style: one shot
WC: 10.7k
Warnings: crime, alcohol, drinking, implied sexual content (very much so), uhh, theres no blood, also NB: THIS STORY IS INCOMPLETE AND I WONT BE THE ONE TO FINISH IT! (story is also unedited to please dont hate me for any mistakes)
Summary: Hey so I read your Mob!Tom x reader and it got me thinking.. Could you write a Fic where Tom is in the mob but the reader is a cop? And like they’re secretly dating but technically the reader has to make it look like they’re hunting him down but they really aren’t? (If that makes sense) Idk I feel like I just need this in my life rn 😂😂
A/N: i got this ask back in january i think and i jumped on it right away, but at some point tumblr deleted it so i cant tag who asked (and i know this wasnt anonymous bc i remember but i never put it in the doc annoyingly). anyways, i started writing it, got to 10k words and lost motivation and never finished it. i really like the AU but nothing ever really happened.... im so sorry. I hope you enjoy what i have ^_^
A loud ringing paired with the loudest on and off buzzing from your phone vibrating on the nightstand is what pulls you out of your slumber. The sounds screech in your ears and you reach over to stop it, to just slide the button over so that your ears can stop bleeding. However, as you lean out of the arms wrapped around you, their grip strengthens and you’re dragged back into the chest of the man sharing your bed.
“Tom,” you say. A smile plays on your lips, the set of events not unusual for an early morning.
He nuzzles into your hair, places a wet kiss at the base of your neck. “Five minutes,” he mumbles into your skin.
You shake your head slightly, as much as you can with the limited space. “Can I at least turn the sound off?”
His grip slackens, making you able to reach the little way over to turn off the blaring alarm. The silence that comes with is welcome in every way, but the relief isn’t long-lasting when Tom drags you back into his chest, his nose quickly nuzzling back to where it was.
Two seconds is what it takes before he’s pressing kisses to your neck. Rough, slender fingers graze up the side of your body until they reach your neck, where they brush away your hair. With Tom’s easy access, the soft kisses slowly turn into something more, something rougher, and the use of his tongue causes a slight tickle to trail through your body.
“Tom.” You shift a little where you lay, taking away his access as you turn your head. In the shift, the man easily moves to trail kisses up your jaw, and as you whisper his name again, his lips connect with yours.
It’s a hungry kiss. He sucks at your bottom lip and his hand grabs your jaw, holding your head in place. You lean into him, kissing him back with equal fervor, however, you’re quickly dragged out of the bliss, when your phone goes off again.
There is no mistaking the death glare Tom sends the mini-computer. You chuckle slightly and push him off you to reach it. This time, it’s not an alarm, but a phone call.
Your boss’s call ID lights up the screen, and you give Tom a stern look as you press to accept the call. With the phone to your ear, Tom shrugs and moves under the covers. His hands trail down your body, teasing you as his fingers trace up your inner thighs.
“Y/L/N,” you say.
A grunt is heard from the other side first, then, “I need you to come in ASAP.” Your boss’s voice sounds urgent, desperate.
You check the clock. “I’m not supposed to come in in another hour,” you reply. “Is it that important?”
“Yeah, wouldn’t have called you otherwise.” It’s like you can hear him nod and roll his eyes at the same time. “We got a lead in the case.”
“What kind of lead? And which case?”
As your boss answers, you can feel Tom’s tongue on the inside of your thigh. In surprise at the feeling you barely manage to suppress the squeal that works up in your throat, and you miss your boss’s reply. (You don’t miss Tom’s smug laugh from under the duvet, nor how he continues to work his way closer to your clit.)
“Y/L/N?” comes from the other end of the line when you gain back… well, really some of your dignity, but mostly your mind.
“I’m here, sir.” You sigh. “Just something that happened that caught my attention. Cat nearly knocked down something made of glass.”
(You don’t have a cat, why was that the first excuse you could come up with? Your boss doesn’t know that, though, so it’s safe.)
“Didn’t know you had a cat, but that could happen to the best of us.” Your boss clears his throat. “The lead’s pretty good, but can’t say it over the phone so you gotta come in. It’s on the case about the Blue Sweater.”
You roll your eyes at the nickname of the case. One of the major criminals you were trying to take down is often seen wearing blue sweaters, and at a briefing you’d offered it as a code name; who knows who listens in on phone calls―they do seem to have a knack for being one step ahead of you, too.
But you don’t mention that to your boss. “Alright, sir, I’ll be on my way as fast as I can.”
“Make it less than half an hour and we’re good.”
“No problem, sir.”
Your boss is the one to hang up, and as you throw your phone down on the bed, Tom peeks his head up from under the covers. You send him a glare. “You should be happy you didn’t get started whilst I was on the phone.”
Your boyfriend smirks up at you. “Oh, you wouldn’t have liked that?”
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t like it.”
Tom shrugs. “You got time, right?” Though before you can answer he slides back under the cover, uses his hands to steady your hips and dips his head low. God, if only you had more time.
--
The moment the elevator door opens and you step out into the crowded office space of the police station, you hear your name being called. You wish you weren’t the head detective on the, currently, biggest case pertaining to crime bosses. Just once you wish you could come to work and not have at least five people at a time want to ask you a question or pepper you with information you already have.
You kind of wish you weren’t the head detective for another reason, too, but that’s a minor detail. Actually, that might be the reason you need to be the head detective; way easier to steer an investigation when you’re leading it.
Nonetheless, you have no choice in which cases you lead or not. And that’s usually the reason why there’s three people cluttering your desk as you sit down. You’re not entirely sure that’s the reason today.
You plop down in your chair and stare up at the talking men in front of you. The three of them notice you quickly (after all, it was them that yelled your name) and the chatter dies out.
“I’m here half an hour early and I would love to know what made me skip my morning shower.” (It would have been morning shower sex, and you are a little very annoyed that you had to skip it.)
Your boss coughs, gaining your attention. “Briefing room. Five minutes.” The man looks slightly uncomfortable, but that’s not a big surprise. You’ve been told many times that you have that kind of face that makes people squirm; just something about you is, apparently, intimidating.
“Okay.”
And he walks away.
“You two doing at my desk then?” you ask your coworkers. The two men are your right and left hand in most cases, but this one especially. You wouldn’t even be half the way you are now if you didn’t have them. (Though how much that says, you’re not sure, because you really have nothing.)
“Well…,” starts Mackie. His hand goes up to scratch his neck. “...really we just naturally gravitate here.”
You squint at him, and divert your gaze to Evans (who you know is a shitty liar). Even though you’re not opening your mouth to say anything and he isn’t looking at you, you can see the big man trying to make himself smaller.
“We were gonna try and see if you’d left a hint to who you’re sleeping with,” he says, and despite the way he doesn’t meet your gaze, he says it so casually you’re actually taken aback.
“Excuse me?” You let out a huff, and shake your head. “My sex life is my sex life. You two” ―you point at both of them― “have no business with it.” You stand up from your chair and shake your head yet again. “And if you really think I’d leave evidence lying around, I gotta figure out how to let you know that’s not something I’d do.”
(And if you had, well, your career would for sure be over. If not worse.)
But with that out of the way, you make your way to the briefing room. Captain Cheadle, your boss, stands at the head of the table. In his hand, he holds a wireless presenter, and a few papers are scattered on the table in front of him. You take your place at the table, and as you do, your phone buzzes to signal a new message.
The captain gives you a shrug and that’s all the permission you need to fish your phone from your pocket and check the text.
[08.38] twh darling, you left something at your flat
[08.38] you you talking about yourself? that doesnt count
[08.39] twh that too but no, you left your keys
[08.39] you you doing anything today??
[08.39] twh you know i am, but i can get them to you
[08.40] you gtg but yes please or there are other solutions…
You let out a slight groan knowing you’ll have to figure out how to get your keys without actually meeting Tom. You can’t meet in public, and there are few places where you can meet without being discovered; there’s a reason you’re always at your apartment and never at his house. (well, you’ve been there once, but that was with work and it doesn’t count.)
Whatever his reply is to the latest text you sent, you don’t get to read (though you do feel the vibration on your thigh). Captain Cheadle has called for your attention, Mackie and Evans having seated themselves in the room as well, and you can’t do anything but pay attention to your boss.
“The tip we got is an inside tip.” The captain steps aside to let the projector show a photo of the biggest crime boss currently in New York City, Tom Hiddleston. As with every other photo he’s in, he’s wearing a fucking blue sweater. “The source is reliable, as we know of their work with Hiddleston, but we’re not sure if the tip is.”
He clicks to another photo, which is of the same man getting into a car. Only, he’s getting into the driver’s seat, something that is unusual for someone that has his own driver. “We can’t know if the tip is true or not, but we’re guessing there’s some truth to it.”
You roll your eyes slightly (not enough for the captain to notice). “Can you tell us what it is yet?”
Captain Cheadle nods. “There’s been a mystery woman in his life. None of his men know, but based on a lift in spirits and an increase in nights gone from his own house, they believe he has to be seeing someone. Rumor amidst his men, according to our tip, is that it's been going on for a few months.”
A knot tightens in your gut. A few months is a little less than correct, but yeah… It’s been six months since you started dating Tom Hiddleston. Off work, on a weekend, you met him in a bar, you got drunk and your mind didn’t work in any other way than tell you how hot he was and how good he made you feel. There was little persuasion needed for Tom to get you in a bed, naked, and screaming out his name. And so far, he’s managed to do it most nights since.
(The case had been assigned to you a month after your first encounter. You’d known his name well before you met him, but that hadn’t stopped you. And, even as his girlfriend, you had no evidence on him whatsoever.)
Yet, after six months of no one knowing anything, you’d been fairly certain you’d get away with it. At least until either one of you got enough of pretending. Tom has enough money for you to quit your job should it come to it, the only problem being that you don’t want to because you love your job.
“Did your source say anything about who the woman could be? Where to find her?” asks Evans.
You wait patiently for the reply. Your gut stirs with the thought that they’d know, that just your face (usually a poker-face no one could read no matter how much you panicked on the inside) would reveal you. But you aren’t revealing anything but being deep in thought, as you can feel Mackie’s eyes on you as your own flicker across the room and a frown has pronounced itself on your face.
“The tip was slight, but the source believes that there might be something to check at a bar. It’s one Hiddleston frequents, High Rise.”
Oh, if only the name didn’t chime with recognition at the back of your mind. There isn’t much to do but accept your fate and follow up on the lead, only try your best to avoid being recognized as the girl who left with Tom Hiddleston half a year ago. That could be rather easy, seeing as the bar was dark and you’d been wearing more make-up than usual and the dress you wore hadn’t stood out in any way, and it being six months ago.
You nod at captain Cheadle. “Anything else we should know?”
He nods slightly. “There came one more thing with the tip, but this wasn’t a written message.” He roams around his papers for something and eventually fishes out an evidence bag. Inside is an envelope and something small you can’t see from far away. He slides it across the table to you.
Your heart skips a beat at the sight of what lies in the bag. The envelope easily recognizable as one you’d written yourself (though you’d used a typewriter―fancy―so there isn’t any handwriting to check), and the content a barely visible silver and gold wristband inscribed with a phrase Tom has whispered time and time again in your ear (the most intimate you’ve been outside of sex); my safe spot is with you in my arms.
Your fingers graze over it as you look at the inscription. “That’s pretty intimate,” you say, and an agreed murmur comes from your captain.
“You traced it?” asks Mackie.
“Untraceable. Paid in cash, no receipt, and might even have been done illegally.”
At least you know that that’s not true, and if they’d tried just a little bit harder, it wouldn’t be that hard.
“Fingerprints?” you ask, though not sure exactly where it comes from. (Or, well, it comes from the fact that you’ve touched the wristband on several occasions and that, unless wiped, there should be fingerprints all over it.)
You look up from the evidence bag to see captain Cheadle shake his head. “A few around the clasp, but none enough to make a full print, and any other we could find are only Hiddleston’s. The envelope’s the same”
“The question is whether Hiddleston sent it to someone or if someone sent it to him.” Evans motions for you to slide the evidence over to him, and you do.
“He’s the biggest crime lord in New York, he’s gotta be real smitten if he’d make that to send to someone.” Mackie shrugs, not sold on the idea that Tom Hiddleston, crime boss extreme, could be sappy enough to send it apparently.
Well, if only you knew what Tom would do for the one he loves, if only you knew.
“Well,” you say and clap your hands together, “seems we have more to do today than reports.”
A slight chuckle comes from the three men in the room with you.
“I want you, Mackie, with me on a trip down to High Rise. Captain, is it possible to talk to our source other than written communication?”
A nod.
“Then I want you, Evans, to have a little chat with Hiddleston’s ex-buddy. Let’s see if he doesn’t have more information, and if you can’t get much, try a little harder on the wristband. There’s gotta be something to look for there, maybe mention it to our source?”
“On it.” Evans gives you a thumbs up, grabs the evidence and walks out the door. You and Mackie move to do the same, and on your way there, you fish your phone out from your pocket.
[08.41] twh i’ll have to get back to you on that, but you can probably count me in have a good day, darling
[09.27] you sounds great but, on some not so good news, you got a snitch amidst you and i have smth that belongs to you in evidence
You don’t wait for a reply, certain he’s busy and also because Mackie is a nosy asshole and you’re not gonna get caught on a text message.
“You know where High Rise is?” asks Mackie as you make your way to your desk.
“GPS exists, but I have a hunch,” you say as you grab your jacket. Unfortunately, that hunch is more a hunch that your relationship is getting threatened by your work.
(“A hunch. Yeah, right, you’ve probably been there.”
“Careful what you say there, kiddo.”
“I’m older than you!”
“And yet, I’m driving.”)
--
[09.53] twh name? and what might that be?
[11.16] you i didnt get one but one of my guys is questioning him smth i bought you
[11.17] twh ill figure it out, and that has to be my wristband. how?
[11.17] you you tell me
Mackie nudges your arm with his elbow as you make it inside the bar. It’s mostly deserted, highly unlike the life that was there the last time you set foot in the place. A man sits in the booth in the back sipping what looks like whiskey based on the glass and the brown liquid inside. By the entrance, a woman and a man sit across each other at a table. Each of them have a beer, though only the man looks to have touched his, and the woman doesn’t look too happy with him.
However, you turn your attention to the bar, and the bartender behind the counter. Fortunately, he’s not the same one that was here when you were. Making your way over, you note the exits (the one you came in through, a backdoor in the kitchen, and―one you noted the first time you were there―the window in the ladies’ room). You also note the man sitting at the edge of the bar counter, back hunched over and an old fashioned placed in front of him. Untouched.
“How can I help you?” asks the man behind the counter. A bushy beard covers his chin, ruffled brown hair the top of his head, and tattoos cover his upper arm, visible where his t-shirt sleeve ends. In his hands he holds a cleaning towel and a glass, but as you sit down, he slings the towel over his shoulder and puts the glass down. “Guessing beer for you, sir, and maybe a scotch on the rocks for the lady?”
You shake your head, and roll your eyes at Mackie’s almost nod. You’re at work, you’re not gonna drink. “Sorry, mister, but we’re here on other business.” You pull out your badge and give him a peek.
The bartender’s eyes go wide. “Sorry, ma’am, didn’t know. You could've fooled me.” He holds out a hand. “I’m Tom Hardy, co-owner of this shithole.”
“Shithole?” Mackie eyes the man.
“Can’t say there’s a lot of good going on in here, really. Nothin’ illegal, though.” Hardy winks at Mackie and you roll your eyes. The last thing you care about is the tiny illegal things going on at the bar. “What can I help you with? There’s not been any complaints, right?”
Mackie shakes his head. “Relax, man, it’s got nothing to do with you. We’re looking for information on a man, also named Tom, but with a different last name. Hiddleston, heard of him?”
The scoff Tom Hardy comes with is barely audible, but you catch it and cock your head to the side.
“Who hasn’t heard of Tom Hiddleston? Supposedly a big mafia boss, but the police has got nothing on him.”
“We got word he frequents this bar. That true?”
Hardy nods. “He’s by at least once a week, sometimes more.”
You try to drown the ache that falls over your heart knowing he still comes by. “You know what he’s here for?”
The bartender shrugs. “Don’t get into that shit, but I know he has a deal with my co-owner, Luke Evans.”
Mackie pulls out a pad and a pen and writes down the name. “Hiddleston ever leave here with a girl in the last few months?”
Hardy shakes his head. “Nah, leaves with the same men, though he has gotten different. Before he used to indulge a little more with the women, but now he seems to not want to. They want him, though.”
The ache fades a little at that. He’s loyal, he’s trustworthy, he’s yours. “Did he use to leave with girls before?” you ask.
“Dunno. He’s usually here when Luke works, only some shifts we got together.” Hardy shrugs. “Though the times I have been here, he’s never left with a girl. He’s followed some into the bathroom, but never left with one. Gotta be some special girl for him to leave with her.”
You suppress the smile that tugs at your lips. “Thank you, mister Hardy. Could you get us in touch with your co-owner? We wanna have a little chat with him, too.”
“He works tonight. Sorry, can’t give you anymore.” The man picks up a glass again. “But if we’re done here, you’re gonna have me excused. I have a job to do.”
“Thanks for the cooperation,” says Mackie and pushes away from the counter. “We might come back for more.”
You say a small goodbye as you follow after your coworker. On the way to the door, your eyes stray to the man in the back of the bar. Something about him seems off, and even more so when he holds up his glass and tips it your way with a slight hint of a ‘cheers’. The creepy smirk that places itself on his face sparks no comfort, and you let out a sigh as you walk through the door Mackie holds open for you.
“Something wrong?” he asks.
“Got a weird feeling from one of the dudes in the bar. Might be nothing, might be something.” You shake your head, slowly, as your thoughts whirr around in your head. “Doesn’t matter. If he’s here tonight, I might check into it, but it’s probably nothing.”
Mackie shrugs. “We didn’t really get that much here either, though. Hope Evans got better luck.”
“Yeah, gotta hope. But I have a feeling our source might’ve changed his mind on talking.” You open the car door and get in, Mackie following your lead. “I have a feeling Evans might not have been very lucky.”
“You thinkin’ we might end up with… homicide?”
You shrug. “Can’t be sure, but wouldn’t be surprising. Don’t believe we’re gonna be able to connect it to Hiddelston, though.” You start the engine and pull out on the road. “Don’t believe we’re gonna have any connection other than the guy’s snitching.”
“Good enough to talk to him.”
“Good enough to blow what we have if we do.”
--
The police station became a place of chaos in a matter of seconds. One moment, you’re talking to Evans on what he could find (the source had disappeared without a trace), and the next, it’s like the station is on fire.
Evans, Mackie and yourself are out of the loop. You lean against your desk, your coworkers leaning against the neighboring ones, and look at the chaos erupted around you. People run from one place to another, screaming for help or otherwise.
Then silence consumes the crowd as someone turns up the sound of the TV in the background. You turn to see the screen. On it, there’s a picture of a fire and countless dead bodies, burnt crisps until there is nothing recognizable left to see.
“In just a few minutes the house, that belongs to the infamous crime boss Tom Hiddleston, went up in flames. Whether the man himself was in the house or not, we do not know. Police have yet to arrive at the scene, and the firemen are doing their best to put out the blazing fire. So far, we have no witnesses and no way of knowing what caused it. We’ll be back soon with more updates.”
You lock eyes with Evans and Mackie.
“Our source was in that fire, wasn’t he?” Mackie makes a grimace, and then shakes his head and throws his hands up in the air. “You called it. You fucking called it.”
“I didn’t want to call it.” You shake your head. “And we’re not the force to go out there either, so we’re gonna need someone to talk to Hiddleston about this, about his source, without it being suspicious.”
Evans gets up from his place. “I’ll ask Sebastian.”
“That buddy of yours?” you ask.
“This is the kind of case he gets called out on.”
“Go ahe―”
“Y/L/N!” You’re cut off by the sound of your captain yelling your name. “You’re going out with the team. Take one of the boys. Don’t alert Hiddleston, but he’ll know why you’re there.”
“You got it, sir.” You turn to Mackie and Evans. “Looks like we got some luck after all. Which one of you wanna join me?”
--
When you pull up to the scene, the fire has been put out. But the fire that is the press and the countless people that’ve decided this is something they need to see live, that has yet to be handled.
You and Evans walk up to the police barricade tape and shove it aside. An office tries to stop you, but you easily walk past after a flash of your badge. The head officer on the case is easily recognizable where he commands what looks like some junior officers.
“What’s the deal?” you ask.
He turns to you, and there you find Evans’s and Mackie’s friend, Sebastian Stan. He smiles at the two of you. “Got five casualties, one critically hurt on his way to the hospital. Medics think his fate’s been sealed. Other than that the fire’s been put out, and the owner of the house arrived about five minutes ago.” Sebastian points to a male figure pacing up and down the sidewalk. “Don’t know if I’d wanna talk to him though.”
You swallow a lump in your throat. “We haven’t got much choice.” You’re about to walk from the officer, but you have one last question. “You got any identities on who died?”
He shakes his head. “Nothing, and so far it seems the fire was an accident. No fuel used of any kind, nothing weird about the source, and the six that were in the house weren’t close to it. Three of them were asleep.”
“Didn’t the house have a smoke alarm?” asks Evans.
Sebastian shakes his head. “Nope. And you’re not gonna believe what they, as of now, believe to be the source.”
“What?”
“A hair dryer. Wasn’t turned off.”
You frown. “A hair dryer? Nothing else? It’s a pretty big house. Seems like a long shot.”
Sebastian shrugs. “So far we’ve ruled out arson, and seeing how annoyed the owner is over there, safe to say he wasn’t planning on burning his house down.”
Don’t say that. He wouldn’t care, seeing as that isn’t the house he uses mostly―that’s just the public one.
Even Evans knows that, and you give him a look as you move away from Sebastian and towards said owner of the house.
“Hiddleston,” you say as you near him.
The man turns around. His expression is curious rather than angry, but something tugs at his lips as his gaze flickers over to Evans. “Miss Y/L/N, what do I owe the lovely pleasure?”
“Your house burned down. Five of your men dead, and a sixth one just holding on. We’re thinking he’ll die, too, medics said it was critical.” You shrug. “But you already knew that, right?”
Tom smiles, and takes a step closer to you. You have to hold out a hand to stop Evans from coming in between, knowing you have somewhat of a bodyguard in the man. “Darling.” Tom’s hand comes up to cup your cheek and you have to fight the urge to lean into his touch. “How could I know that? No one wants to tell me a bloody thing.” His voice changes fast at the last sentence, the annoyance creeping in.
“Did you set the fire?” asks Evans.
You roll your eyes. “He doesn’t mean to ask that. But we would like to know if there are any of your acquaintances missing?”
Tom nods. “There’s one I wanted to talk to. Name’s Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Haven’t been able to contact him since last night, and that’s unusual.”
“You think he was in the fire?”
The male shakes his head. “I don’t believe he was there at all, but I do believe he would do this. I got the impression he isn’t quite happy with me, or my decisions lately.”
He’s the snitch.
“We’ll let you know if he was in the fire.” You use your hand to push Tom’s hand away from your face, his touch lingering a little too long to be a play (but you weren’t going to complain.) “I have one other inquiry.”
“Go on.”
You take a deep breath before the words leave your mouth. He should be prepared, considering you told him what was in the evidence bag, but you can’t be sure. “Any girlfriends or women in your life we should know about?”
He smiles (god, that smile). “Other than you, love?”
Smooth. You can practically hear Evans roll his eyes behind you.
“Yes, other than me.”
“Then no. I have a far too busy life to deal with girlfriends,” he says, and winks, “though you shouldn’t hesitate to contact me.” Tom leans in close, his lips grazing your ear and his hand taking yours―something cold grazes your fingers. “I can give you a night you won’t forget.”
You don’t let the hitch in your breath show, and when he places a kiss to your cheek, you only stare at him as he pulls away (and let your hand find comfort in your jacket pocket where you let go of your keys).. “Don’t leave town, Mister Hiddleston.”
“I won’t, darling.”
And then you walk away together with Evans. He keeps glancing behind him, and the confusion is written on his face.
“Just ask,” you say as you reach the car.
Evans opens the door. “How are you not fazed by that?” he asks.
You get into the car and shrug. “Because I don’t let it. He thinks it’s fun to play with me because I don’t have a reaction―” (ehehe, yeah right) “―I think it’s fun to let him. Eventually, something has to slip and we’ll be able to catch him on the spot.”
“But you gotta allow yourself to be harassed to do so?”
You chuckle. “I wouldn’t call it harassment, hon. I call it work.”
Evans frowns as you start the engine and pull out of the parking spot. “What do you mean?”
“Haven’t you noticed? When it comes to sexual harassment, Tom Hiddleston is the least of my worries.”
--
It’s supposed to be a brief stop; get into your apartment, change into something that doesn’t drag attention at a bar on a Thursday night (probably not going to be too crowded anyways), and get out.
But when you walk in through the door, you see a pair of shoes kicked off in the entrance hall. A coat lies draped over your living-room armchair―a coat easily recognizable.
You hurry to close the door, and kick off your own shoes. The trail of clothes leads you further into the apartment. A dress shirt folded together and placed on the cupboard in your living room. Pants lie discarded on the floor in the doorway to your bedroom. And the man who it belongs to, you find tangled in your sheets, buck naked with the exception of the tie around his neck.
“What do you want?” you ask him, an amused smile plastered on your face as you shake your head.
Tom lifts his head a little. A smirk colors his face and he shrugs. “Thought I could surprise you a little, before I have to get going.” He checks the wristwatch on his arm (which you first now noticed he hasn’t taken off either). “But you’ve used quite a lot of time to get here, and now we barely have time for anything.”
You shake your head, smile gone. “Sorry, babe, but I haven’t got the time.”
“What? You have plans for the evening?” There’s a teasing lilt to his voice, but it still slightly hurts seeing as you barely get out of the apartment when you get time off. Really, six months ago was a chance meeting unlike any other.
“I have work.” You move to open your wardrobe. “But if you want, you can help me figure out what to wear.” You turn your head to cast Tom a glance, eyebrow raised.
He turns a little, enough for the sheet that had covered him to fall off and leave him fully exposed. And with just the tie as a piece of clothing, you have to turn back around. God, what that man can do. You grit your teeth as you open the door and file through the few dresses you own, patiently waiting for his response.
“What is it for?” he asks, and his velvet smooth voice does nothing to ease the growing arousal in your gut, not with the image of him and that tie the only thing on your mind.
You swallow before you reply, but you don’t dare turn around. “Gotta talk to the owner of a bar, and don’t wanna drag attention with people there so we agreed to act less like police. Might have to have a drink or two.” You sigh, and close your eyes. “You should have waited with this until then.”
“What?” His voice is in your ear, warm breath fanning your neck. You bite down on your lower lip, hard. “You don’t like it? You’re not enjoying it?” His hands find the hem of your shirt. Fingers graze up along your skin and you find yourself complying when he makes a move to drag it off.
“Tom,” you whisper. You lean into him, into the fingers tracing along your bra and the way his lips ghost over the skin on your shoulder, up your neck. “I don’t―” You shudder as he presses a kiss to your jaw. “Ba― Babe, I don’t have―”
He tips your head back and his lips find yours. Barely touching, you close your eyes, and the image of Tom in bed and you using the tie to drag him to you has you swallow, almost succumbing to the pleasure you know you’ll get. His voice is low when he speaks. “Don’t have what?”
You don’t answer as your hand shoots up to press his head closer to yours, to push your lips together. Everything you can think about is him, your boyfriend, and in a matter of seconds your clothes are off as well, and you sink into the mattress as Tom throws you down on your bed. Your eyes open briefly, to see him study the contours of your body and, even as you do give into Tom and your desire, the haste is still on your mind.
With determination etched into you, you drag him to you with the tie and capture his lips in yours. There is no limit to what this man does to you, and there is no limit to what you let him.
--
With the already extra time you used with Tom, you didn’t have the time to shower. You’d tried your best to fix your hair and do something extra with your make-up, but Tom didn’t have it in him to let you dress and time was wasted.
Evans and Mackie pick you up outside your apartment complex in Evans’s car. As you approach, the two of them lean against it, deep in conversation. They barely notice you coming, but when they do, both give appreciative looks.
“Looking good,” says Mackie, eyes travelling up and down your body. Evans remains quiet, the way his eyes dance over you the only comment you get (and you have to admit, you’re not really complaining.)
You’d opted for something nice, but nothing too much. A skirt that stops mid-thigh, knee high boots with a thick heel, and a slightly revealing shirt. (You’d also opted for a thigh holster so that you could still bring your gun.
“You’re wearing that.” It’s more a statement than a question from the naked man resting on your bed.
You nod, and glance his way. “Problem?”
Tom’s eyes graze over you, hunger evident in them. “I would certainly like to take it off.”
You lift the hem of your skirt, revealing the thigh holster with your gun. “This too?”
“Yes, and right now.”)
In your hand, you have a clutch and you’re also wearing a coat to keep some warmth in the cool evening air. “Shall we go?” you ask.
And the two men both get off from where they’re leaning against the car. Mackie easily offers up the passenger’s seat to you, even though whenever it's him and Evans fighting over it, it’s first come first serve. You smile a thanks and then you’re on your way.
Evans parks a few blocks away from the bar (his expensive Audi with tinted windows certainly drags some attention), and you use the walk there to go through the course of action.
“Mackie’s the cop-cop. He’ll talk to Luke Evans, try something else. We try to talk to some of the people there. Whether that’s as a cop or not, I don’t really care. All we really need is a lead. If anyone sees any of Hiddleston’s associates, please alert the others.”
The two nod. “Sure, but before we go in there, you have to fix your hair.”
You raise your brow at Mackie. “Excuse me?”
“You got sex hair.” He gives you a ‘sorry’ smile and a shrug. “Like, we’re not judging you for having it, but if you’d told us you had a visitor we would’ve waited to come to give you more time.”
“Fuck.” You shake your head and stop. “One, help me fix my hair. Two, I wasn’t planning on it. I was ambushed.” Something that isn’t really that far fetched, it’s not like you knew Tom would be there when you came home.
Evans stops in front of you and asks with his face if he can help, and you nod. His hands move to brush a little through your hair, and fix a little on what probably stands out.
“How could you get ambushed?” asks Mackie.
You roll your eyes. “I got home, there were some clothes lying around, I followed the trail to a naked man in my bed and seeing as it’s the guy I’m currently seeing it wasn’t a bad sight. I tried to tell him I didn’t have the time, but he can be quite persuasive.”
As you talk, Evans tugs a little harshly on your hair and you let out a pained sound. He apologizes, but continues to try and fix your hair.
Mackie shrugs. “How long have you been seeing him?”
You shrug. “Few months.”
“How many months are a few?” asks Evans, his hands letting go of your hair and an approving smile on his face. He steps away to get Mackie’s blessing and the man nods affirmative.
“Uhh, six.”
Both Mackie and Evans stare wide-eyed at you.
“You’ve been dating a dude for six months and not told anyone?!” If you didn’t know better (and you’re not always sure you do), you’d think there was a layer of accusation in Mackie’s voice, but you don’t believe there is.
You shrug and begin to walk again. “What does it matter? It’s not like there’s a need to know about those things.”
“I thought we were friends.” Mackie shakes his head, a small friendly glare sent your way.
“What made you think that?” you ask, but the same friendly feel to your words as there was to his glare. “But can we let it go? I don’t want to talk about my private life.”
Evans nods. “We’re here anyways.”
And you sure are. You look up to see the blinking neon sign of the bar. The bass from the music drifts to where you stand by the door, and with a quick glance inside, you can see it’s fuller than you expected for there to be another work day of the week left. Though you do notice the age of the people; it's possible the college kids don't have class tomorrow, or don’t care.
The three of you make your way inside, gaining a few glances as you step in, but everyone quickly turns back to their own lives. You give a small sign to the two men you came with and move away from them.
It’s easy to step up to the bar, and you easily recognize the bartender as the one who was there when you met Tom. You’re guessing he’s Luke Evans, and you take a breath before you signal him for a drink. Hopefully, you won’t be recognized.
“What can I get you?” he asks.
“A whiskey, thanks.”
He pushes away from the counter, and easily grabs a glass and a bottle and pours. When he puts it down in front of you, his gaze lingers. “Have I seen you before?”
You shake your head. “Has to be somewhere else than here in that case.”
“First time?”
You nod.
“Recommend not drinking a lot. We get some sleazy people in here.”
“I hear you also get crime bosses. This the place to meet the Tom Hiddleston?”
Luke chuckles. “Hon, if you want to meet Tom Hiddleston, I suggest you start being careful what you wish.” He nods to the back of the bar. “Best luck is sitting down in that reserved booth. It’s his usual.”
You cock your head. “He’s coming here today?”
The bartender nods.
“Ain’t I lucky,” you whisper and smile at him. You easily get away from the counter and make your way to the empty booth in the back.
Sure enough, a sign reading reserved is placed on the table. Who it’s reserved for doesn’t say, nor is there a time stamp. You make for sliding into it, but a hand grasps your wrist and pulls you away.
As you fall into the chest of the stranger, you turn your head. The man who you’d seen earlier today is the one holding you back. Up close, you notice bags under his eyes and he reeks of alcohol. You pull away from his grip and raise a brow his way.
“I wouldn’t sit down there if I were you,” he says, and slides into the same booth he had earlier.
“Why?”
He shakes his head. “Tom Hiddleston isn’t a man to mess with.”
“And how do you know so much about Tom Hiddleston?”
The man pats the seat next to him. “Sit and I’ll tell you.”
You hesitate, but eventually slide in. You leave room between yourself and the stranger. If anything were to happen, you do have a gun.
“You got any relation to Hiddleston?” you ask (you have to admit, no matter how much you want your boyfriend not to be caught, you wish you knew more about what he did do).
“Name’s Aaron.” The snitch.
You motion for him to go on.
“I was hired by him three months ago. He felt the cops were gaining and wanted something, or someone to try and put a stopper to it.”
“So, Tom Hiddleston hired you to snitch on the cops?” You want to laugh, seeing as you snitch enough for Tom to never know exactly what you know, but enough to cover his tracks.
Aaron shakes his head. “He hired me to snitch on a cop. A specific one.”
You frown, sure if he was hired to snitch on you you’d know and he would have recognized you. Perhaps he had.
“The cop’s here today.” Aaron’s gaze travels into the crowd of people in the bar. You see where he looks. Evans. “His name is Chris Evans.”
“Why did he want you to spy on him?”
Aaron shrugs. “He never said. And eventually, I got sick of it. The guy’s obviously not a threat to Hiddleston and his business. Y/N Y/L/N is, but it’s impossible to find out anything about her. Don’t even know what she looks like.”
You try not to let it show that you flinched at the mention of your own name. And you find it weird that he can’t find anything on you. Tom did so, easily. But there’s no need to dwell on that. You glance at Aaron again, unsure how to ask.
“You say you got sick of it. What did you do? Just stop doing his bidding, or something else?”
A smile colors Aaron’s face. “Snitched to the cops. Left a message. Anonymous, but I gave them a way to contact me for more information.” He shakes his head. “Got contacted today, but never replied. But I saw you here this morning, talking to the bartender.”
You cock your head. That could be an easy way to draw the connection to you as a cop, not necessarily as Y/N Y/L/N, but you had been seen with Mackie, and usually Mackie and Evans were seen with each other.
“I have a proposition for you,” he says. “One that means getting close to Hiddleston, and that includes spying on him. Mics, cameras, whatever. I need him in jail.”
“I’m gonna have to say no. I was just hoping for a night, a friend of mine told me he was real good in bed.” You shrug. “But if you have angered him, I got told by the bartender that Hiddleston comes in today.”
Aaron smiles. “You’ll have to excuse me, then. I hope you don’t anger him with only the intention of a one night stand. Based on how you look, I’m pretty sure you’re his type.” The male slides out of the booth, downs his drink in one go, and waves goodbye. You watch as he moves to the restrooms, and you roll your eyes when he winks.
[10.47] you snitch is alive, in the restrooms hiddlestons supposed to come in today
[10.48] evans no snitch in the restrooms, window’s open tho guessing it was the guy that slipped past me just now
[10.48] you guess so mackie u got anything from the bartender
[10.50] mackie that hiddlestons coming in that their deal is just renting of the venue from time to time
[10.50] you well just have to do the best of it then im sitting in his booth so if he comes hell notice
[10.51] evans sure thats a good idea??
[10.51] you would very much like to know why he put someone to spy on you evans snitch was hired to keep tabs, got annoyed he wasnt keeping tabs on me
[10.51] mackie dam i wanna know that too be careful
You look up and meet the gazes of your coworkers. Evans looks uncomfortable, worried almost, judging by the crease between his brows. Mackie gives you a look of understanding and a pair of thumbs up.
You down your drink, try to cover the hiss as pain sears down your throat, and make to sit down in Tom’s booth. On the way in, you knock over the reserved sign, making it fall to the floor. Now, it’ll look like you didn’t know.
[10.57] mackie Incoming
The front door opens slowly. Heads turn to look who comes through, and unlike when you arrived with Mackie and Evans, everyone’s eyes stay on the man who weaves his way through the crowd.
Tom stops by the bar, has a small chat with the bartender and turns his head to look your way. A smirk grazes his lips as your eyes lock, but he quickly turns back to the man he was talking to.
You swallow. You have to steady your beating heart, have to shove the thought of the night’s previous events to the back of your mind, and kill the deep swirling feeling in your gut at the sight of Tom in that blue fucking suit. God, if there was something Tom Hiddleston was made to do it’s wearing suits.
The blue color suits his very being. It’s tailored to fit him perfectly; long legs encased in blue fabric that shows off his bum, suit jacket that fits his shoulders and back in a way that has you swallow. You can see his broad shoulders and some of the tightness that drags at his muscled arms. What you can’t wait to see, is how well the shirt underneath fits him. You simply can’t wait for him to pull off the jacket.
Thankfully, you don’t have to wait very long. With two drinks in hand he makes his way up to where you sit. He doesn’t say anything as he places them on the table, nor does he say anything when he pulls up the reserved sign from where it lies on the floor. He places it back on the table, eyes you warily, and sides into the booth.
Long arms grasp for the drinks. He pulls them in and pushes one to you. “Can you drink, darling? You’re working, right?”
You take the glass and swirl the liquid around inside it. “I can, actually.” And you take a sip. “But I won’t drink a lot.”
Tom moves closer to you, knocking his thigh against yours. You take a deep breath at the touch, the only one you can return―Tom flirting with you whilst you work is no news, but it would be quite different if you did the same. “Have you been waiting long, darling?”
“No, I haven’t. I managed to preoccupy myself.”
“Oh, can I hear?”
You shake your head. “What good would you have of that?” you ask. When you get a shrug in return, you roll your eyes and take another sip of the whiskey. “I have a question for you, though.”
Tom cocks a brow.
“Why did you need someone to spy on Evans?”
Your heart beats fast as Tom moves even closer, lips coming up to ghost across your cheek. You can see that the two in the crowd of people keeping a close eye on you flinch, but you don’t make a gesture to show any discomfort. “Have you not noticed, love?”
You push him away by placing a hand on his chest. “Noticed what?” You try to pull your hand back but Tom places his over yours and keeps your touch on him. A small hint of the love he usually offers you shows through the blue of his eyes.
“The man likes you, darling. A little too much. Can’t have another man try anything with my woman.” Tom’s gaze flickers out to the crowd, and as you follow it, you see how it lands on Evans and how your coworker squirms. “Now, if only I could show him.”
“Tom,” you say, voice bordering on affectionate. His eyes flicker to you in surprise; he’s only ever been Hiddleston in public. “There’s nothing to worry about, and if you try anything, anything at all, you will have a gun to your head.”
Tom chuckles. “Are you threatening me?”
“You know where the gun is.” And the hand that travels up and under your skirt, grazing by the thigh holster, has you swallow. You take a deep breath as his hand travels a little further, and the only way to stop him is to grab his hand. “I didn’t say you could check.” You push at him a little, creating more distance between you two (even though you would like to sit close to him).
“I didn’t think I needed permission, love.” He smirks and you shake your head.
You smile innocently at him. “Usually you don’t.” You go to slide out of the booth. “Bye, Hiddleston.”
Tom grabs your arm and pulls you back to his chest. “Have you really made that big a dent in the case of the Blue Sweater?” he whispers in your ear. You writhe in his grasp, but a firm hand turns your head to him and his face draws closer to yours. “Tell me what I need to do to have the lead again, darling. I’ll do anything.”
And you can’t stop the sound of surprise that escapes you when Tom presses a chaste kiss to your lips. The surprise is so big you only stare wide-eyed at him, not able to kiss him back (and good is that seeing as you’re in public), and when he pulls back, you push away from him and shake your head.
“You’re an idiot,” you say (no teasing or play in your voice), and then you walk away. You rush out of the bar, feel Evans’s and Mackie’s eyes on you, and when you get out of the front door you lean against the wall. Your heart hammers in your chest. You’re panting, and you can feel the rush of adrenaline making its way through your body.
You may like to play with fire, letting him flirt and show affection in public, but you wouldn’t ever go this far. You wouldn’t ever think he’d even risk it.
“Are you okay?” comes a voice from next to you. Evans and Mackie have made it outside, and you push off the wall to start walking to the car.
“We’re not talking about it,” you say.
Neither of them make a move to say more, and you can hear them follow after you. Tom might be the worst person in history to be in a secret relationship with. Or maybe the best. You haven’t decided yet.
--
It’s no surprise to see the people surrounding your desk when you get to work. Your two usual pests sit at their own, and though not a part of the group waiting for you, they shoot you glances as you sit down.
You try not to glare at the group, but when they all just quietly stare at you, the anger bubbles. “What?” you ask.
A small murmur goes through them, until your impatient glare becomes too much and one voice squeaks out, “did Tom Hiddleston kiss you?”
He has more than once, you think.
You don’t reply, only giving them an unamused look in return. They quickly scatter, and you can hear the chatter that bubbles up amongst them.
Not only do you not have the patience for stupid pestering (and annoyance at Evans and Mackie for spreading the word), but your morning was the worst in a while. It’s almost become a usual for Tom to sleep over, whether because he falls asleep after sex or if he just wants to cuddle, but when you came home yesterday, there was no Tom.
And no Tom means no morning cuddles, or a goodbye kiss as you leave out the door. On top of that, he hasn’t texted either. No saying why he didn’t show. No explaining why he risked a kiss in public.
A text you did get in the morning, was a journalist asking for an interview. Especially interesting was the lack of respect for an ongoing investigation, and the bold way to ask whether or not you were secretly helping Tom not get caught (you want to know how they would even guess it. That’s a pretty bold assumption to make about the lead detective on a case).
Tired, you rest your elbow on the desk and lay your head in your hand. You massage your forehead slightly, and there’s no mistaking the groan that leaves your lips as your thoughts swirl.
A knock on your desk pulls you out of it. You look up to see Mackie leaning against it. “You okay?” he asks.
You shake your head. “It doesn’t matter. We gotta talk about what information we got, though. But I don’t trust… I don’t want to talk out here, so, briefing room in five minutes. I don’t know if Evans heard, but make sure he did.”
Mackie scrunches his nose slightly and presses his lips together.
“What’s wrong?”
“Briefing room’s occupied.”
You curse under your breath and shake your head. “We got a meeting room, that occupied?”
Mackie shakes his head. “Not that I know.”
“We’ll meet there.” And as he gives you a thumbs up, you get up from your desk and move to the captain’s office. With a knock and a mumbled ‘come in’ you walk into the room and close the door behind you.
Cheadle looks up at you. “I heard what happened.”
You nod. “Yeah, but there’s something else I’m here about.”
He quirks a brow. “Oh? Important?”
You pull out your phone, ignore the new message you’ve gotten and find the text from the journalist. You hand the captain your phone. “Got this this morning. I want to know how they got my number, what made them think I’m colluding with the guy I’m trying to catch, and what the hell made them believe I’d ever talk to a news source about an open investigation.”
“That is weird.” Captain Cheadle hands you back your phone (just in time, too, because a message chimes in from twh). “When you have time, come back in here. I know you’re gonna talk to the guys now, but I’d like for it to be soon. And check if they haven’t gotten the same one.”
“Yes, sir.” You sigh and walk out again. You head for the meeting room and on your way you pull open your text thread with Tom.
[08.18] twh darling we need to talk i think i have some information you’d like to have
[08.23] you gonna talk about smth else too or just your problem??
[08.23] twh im sorry, darling, i got caught up in work we can talk about both tell me when you have time and ill show up at your flat
[08.23] you tonight, 8
The reply goes by you as you open the door to the meeting room. Evans and Mackie already sit down, Evans with papers in front of him and Mackie with his phone out on the table. You frown, but sit down across from them.
“I don’t know who wants to start.” You look between the two men, and when neither say anything, you shrug. “Guess I’ll go then.” You take a deep breath. “Our snitch’s name is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the man Hiddleston mentioned yesterday when we questioned him about the fire. He isn’t dead because he was in the bar. He says he was hired a few months ago to keep tabs on Evans, but he got sick of it because, according to him, you’re not the threat. On the other hand, I am, but he didn’t know he was talking to me.”
“Did you find out why Hiddleston got him to spy on Evans?” asks Mackie.
You shake your head. “Hiddleston didn’t answer that. Snitch didn’t know himself, but he said he tried to keep tabs on me, too, only he couldn’t. He didn’t have anything to go on, no information, no way to know what I look like. And I find that interesting. Why would Hiddleston go out of his way to make sure they couldn’t do anything to make me a culprit or anything?”
“Maybe because Hiddleston has the biggest crush on you?” asks Evans, and there’s no mistaking the hint of spite in his voice as he says so. “Or, he finds you that big enough a threat he can’t have his guys going around doing stuff to hinder you because you’re smart enough to be able to connect it to him?”
“I hope the last,” you mumble. “But there was definitely something he wasn’t telling me. He seemed to know more than he let on, but I couldn’t push like I usually do because then he’d know. I want to see if we can contact him again, because he knew we tried yesterday without luck.”
“We’ll try, but I don’t think we’re gonna get much either.” Evans nods, and all three of you let out sighs.
You motion for them to start talking instead. Evans slides you a piece of paper. Not much is on it, but the words are clear. You look up at him.
“There were some regulars there that have witnessed Hiddleston many times. The man I talked to said that.” Evans coughs. “‘He’s always alone, at least when he sits, but he leaves with men. Never has a girl around him unless they come up to him, hasn’t had one in a long time. Only once did he leave with one. She was pretty, looked rather intimidating, actually. Don’t think it lasted.’ The man also went on to ramble about how after that, Hiddleston hasn’t been seen with a girl. Well, before you.”
“So he has left with a girl once.” Mackie confirms. “Luke Evans said the same thing. A pretty little thing that edged in on the man unlike no one he’d seen before, and that surprisingly got to leave with him. He’s never seen the woman again, and he found that odd. He doesn’t believe Hiddleston’s got someone in his life, though.”
You bite your lower lip. “Well, that is something. Any descriptions?”
Both shake their heads.
“There is one thing I noted, though,” says Mackie. “If Hiddleston does have someone he likes, is with, whatever. He so openly flirts with you that that woman has got to be furious, and he probably wouldn’t have kissed you either. I think the wristband was sent to him, not from him.”
You nod. “I believe you’re right there.” You know he’s right, but that’s details you’re not sharing. “But I have something more interesting.” You fish your phone out of your pocket (ignore the new messages from Tom) and open up the one you got this morning.
“What’s going on?” asks Evans as you place your phone in front of them on the table. They read over the text and cast eyes up to you. Something in the look both send, they’ve seen something similar before.
“Got it this morning.” You snatch your phone back, seeing the almost pop-up about a new text and not risking who it’s from. “I need to know who believes I’m colluding with the enemy.”
Mackie nods as he opens up his own phone and slides it across to you. “We got the same text, though slightly altered. They’re asking if we know anything about you colluding with Hiddleston.”
[06.53] unkown Hi, I’m a reporter from New York Times. I was wondering if there would be released more information pertaining to the Hiddleston case, and what you know about Hiddleston and Detective Y/L/N’s relationship to the man. I heard last night that they kissed, and maybe the reason you haven’t caught him yet is something entirely else than him being good at what he does.
“Fucking hell,” you mutter. You slide Mackie’s phone back to him and let out a loud sigh.
Things are not looking very bright.

But Who Could Love Me? (Rimmer x Reader) - Chapter 8
A/N: 👀
Warnings: Erm mostly fluff, some implied stuff 😏 also a little arguing!
Summary: Basically giving Rimmer the love his deserves :P
Even though Rimmer was always changing its hiding place you knew where the holo disc was after all you did know him better than anyone else.
“How did you know where I hid it?” Rimmer was stunned as you started unscrewing the cover of the air vent he’d hidden the disc in.
“I know you too well Arnie” You smiled as you pulled off the cover to reveal an empty vent “It’s not there?”
“What? It has to be? That’s where I put it?” Rimmer crouched down beside you to look in the vent “...Kryten!!”
“What about him?” You asked as you started putting the vent cover back.
“That bloody bogbot must’ve cleaned the vents” Rimmer shook his head.
“But don’t the vents self clean?” You asked.
“This is Kryten we’re talking about” Rimmer smiled.
“Touché” You replied as you stood up “Let’s go find him see if he knows”
After traipsing round the ship for what felt like hours, not surprising given it’s the size of a city, you finally found the mechanoid, happily humming away while mopping the medi bay floor.
“Hey Krytes you wouldn’t happen to know the whereabouts of a certain holo disc would?” You asked sitting down on the bed as Rimmer followed.
“Surely one Mr Rimmer is enough ma’am?” Kryten asked earning a grumble from the hologram next you.
“She means Kochanski’s disc” Rimmer groaned glaring at the mechanoid who hadn’t even thought about stopping what he was doing.
“I haven’t seen it sir, why?” Kryten asked finally coming to a stop.
“Yeah why?” Rimmer looked at you, realizing he never actually asked why you wanted the disc.
“Well Lister is quite obviously depressed and missing Kochanski” You explained.
“Well that’s nothing new” Rimmer scoffed.
“That might be true but I don’t think him seeing us together is helping” You replied as Kryten nodded in agreement.
“It’s true, you too are like a couple of lovesick teenagers, always giggling and kissing each other” Kryten complained, he may not have grasped all the human emotions but even he was getting fed up with you and Rimmer ...not that that was going to stop either of you.
“Hey I can’t help it, he’s just so loveable!” You grinned, gently placing your hand under Rimmer’s chin and placing a kiss to his cheek as he smiled.
“Ma’am please” Kryten shuddered, his neck disappearing into his suit like a turtle hiding in its shell.
“So if it’s not in the vent and Kryten hasn’t seen where is it?” You asked, looking at Rimmer.
In a matter of minutes every scutter on the dwarf was now lined up in-front of you, Rimmer and Kryten in the medi bay, Rimmer almost buzzing through the roof at leading his own little robot army.
“Right you lot!” He commanded as he paced back and forth “We’ve got a task for you! For some reason Y/N wants Lister to be happy! ...Ow!”
Rimmer jumped as you pinched him while Kryten tried not to let the laugh he was holding back escape.
“As I was saying before Y/N so rudely pinched me...” Rimmer shot a playful glare at you.
“Don’t make me do it again!” You warned him with a smile.
“We want you to search the entire ship for Miss Kristine Kochanski’s holo disc ...apparently Lister’s happiness matters now ...Ow! Alright I’ll stop” Rimmer chuckled as you pinched him again as the scutters set off on their mission.
“Good one ma’am” Kryten commended you with a nod.
“Thanks Krytes” You smirked at Rimmer as he pretended to sulk.
“Y’know ma’am I could see if Miss Kochanski updated her personality file before the radiation leak happened?” Kryten suggested “Just in case we can’t find the holo disc?”
“Kryten you’re a genius! ...personality files, why didn’t I think of that?” You smiled as you sat with Kryten at the computer monitor.
“Hey?” Rimmer made himself known as yours and Krytens eyes shot up from the screen.
“Everything ok?” You looked at him as he pouted “Tell you what, why don’t Arnold and I go check the holosuite?”
“Good idea ma’am” Kryten agreed knowing full well Rimmer just wanted your attention.
“Arnold?” Rimmer looked at you with an eyebrow raised, you very rarely called him anything but Arnie.
“Come on you!” You laughed as you pulled on Rimmer’s hand to take him out of the room “You’re a smeghead you know that?”
“Oh I know!” Rimmer chuckled in your ear as he wrapped his arms around your waist as you tried to walk.
“Now which way was the holo suite?” You pondered.
“We’re not really going there are we?” Rimmer groaned as you reached the lift at the end of the corridor.
“Do I really need to answer that?” You smiled as you gently pushed him into the lift “Let’s go!”
“Oooohhh” Rimmer sulked as you told the lift where you needed to go.
Finally reaching the hologram projection suite it had occurred to you that you had never actually been inside it, this was the room that was essentially keeping you and Rimmer ‘alive’. Flashing lights and monitors everywhere alongside a huge metal cabinet which you could only assume contained the Red Dwarf crew holo discs.
“Annnnd it’s locked ...let’s go” Rimmer was almost estatic that the cabinet was locked.
“Well is there a key?” You asked.
“I’ve never seen one and I would’ve thought Kryten would have mentioned it before we left the medi bay” Rimmer replied “Let’s go?”
“Ah ah not so fast!” You smiled as you pulled a hair pin from your pocket and a paper clip from a file on the desk.
“What are you doing?” Rimmer looked at you confused as you straightened out the pin and the clip “Are you going to try and pick the lock?”
“Not just try honey!” You grinned as the lock came undone and dropped to the floor “I would’ve thought someone like you would be a lot more prepared”
“Well this is normally Kryten or Listers area of expertise” Rimmer shrugged “My god it’s a mess!”
“Well let’s get started then” You smiled handing Rimmer as stack of discs.
An hour or so later and every surface of the holo suite was covered in discs, in stacks that were organized alphabetically by Rimmer.
“See I knew you find interest somewhere” You looked over at Rimmer who had sat down with his feet up on the table and his arms crossed across his chest.
“What do you mean?” Rimmer asked as you started putting the discs back in the cabinet in their new order.
“I have noticed the alphabetical order Arnie” You smiled “No Kochanski though?”
“You know if the scutters do find this disc and we give it to Lister, Cat will start complaining?” Rimmer mumbled.
“Yeah I know but there was only one other option and you’d lose your mind” You spoke calmly.
“And that is?” Rimmer sat up properly.
“Well I could let Lister take me on a date” Rimmer’s face started to turn red “One date!”
“No, absolutely not, no way” Rimmer snapped “I’m not letting him borrow my girlfriend”
“Ah so I am your girlfriend then?” You grinned as you walked over to him.
“Well I thought it was kind of obvious” Rimmer’s lips started to curl as you stood behind him.
“I know but I’ve never actually heard you say it, what’s going on with you anyway?” You spoke softly as you wrapped your arms around him “Is someone sulking because they’re not getting my attention?”
“A little bit yeah” Rimmer tried to keep a straight face as he looked up at you but with you stood behind him talking ever so sweetly in his ear he found it difficult.
“I also know you’re not too happy about helping Lister out when he stole your chance to tell everyone about us?” You continued to speak softly in his ear before placing a kiss to his cheek “May I remind you that even though it didn’t go the way you had hoped they’re still jealous ...isn’t that kind of what you wanted?”
“I guess yeah” Rimmer smiled as you walked round to stand in front of him.
“Anything I can do to cheer you up?” You asked as a devilish grin took over his face “Except that ...not here anyway”
“Ah damn” Rimmer had the devil in his eyes as you sat down on his lap, his arms instantly wrapped round you. In one swift action he could’ve had every disc and file off the desk and on the floor and have his way but he knew you’d tell him off.
“Maybe later though” You whispered in his ear as he chuckled leaning into kiss you as someone else cleared their throat.
“Gross!” It was Cat! Leaving as soon as he appeared.
“Hey look we’re three for three now” You smiled as Rimmer laughed burying his face into the crook of your neck.
“Come on let’s get this cleared up” Rimmer looked over at the endless piles of discs.
"I hope the scutters do find the disc" You sighed as you stood up.
"Why? Why are you so interested in Listers happiness anyway?" Rimmer grumbled, his good mood abruptly coming to its end.
"He's my friend?" You replied trying not to take Rimmers tone of voice personally.
"He's a goit!" Rimmer spat, his eyes locked on the discs he was placing back in the cabinet.
"Look I understand your still upset but I'm not going to put up with this every time my attention is focused on someone else" You were starting to get a little annoyed, you knew Rimmer was complex, that he needed reassurance and that this was always going to be a problem but it didn't mean it didn't upset you.
"You won't find that disc!" Rimmers voice dropped so much it could barely be heard.
"What?" You looked at him as he looked at the floor.
"You wont find that disc!" He spoke up still refusing to look at you as the guilt took over.
"What do you mean? Arnie what have you done with it?" You stood with your hands on your hips, your patience wearing thin "Why won't I find it?"
"Because I flushed it out of an airlock months ago" Rimmer finally confessed "And I hid the case in the air vent to make everyone think it was still on board"
"You have got to be kidding me?" You sighed "You let me do all this knowing full well I'd never find it? Why can't you deal with Lister being happy?"
"Look I flushed that disc way before you glitched here, it had nothing to do with you!" Rimmer tried to explain himself "That disc would've just made him more miserable, she split up with him for someone else before the radiation leak happened, she wasn't interested in him, I was protecting him"
"Protecting him? Or were you really protecting yourself so your esteem didn't crushed again?" You snarled, you didn't want to be mean but you were pissed and not about to let it go.
"Why are you pissed with me?" Rimmer couldn't understand why his mistake affected you.
"You know I love you more than anything but sometimes you are an insufferable prick Arnold!" You sighed as you went to leave.
"Please don't leave me!" Rimmer panicked.
"I'm not going to leave you ...but you do need to sort this jealousy of yours out" You replied before walking away.
You knew Rimmer meant no harm to you, after all he flushed it before you arrived on the dwarf but you knew all the while Rimmer's jealousy ran rampant in his head it would drive a wedge between the two of you. He's rationality knew you were only trying to help out Lister as a friend and nothing more but the raging green monster could only assume the worst and it was slowly taking over.

For @azurefishnets... last year! But what’s a backlog amirite. Now it’s seasonal again!
Kamila shook her head.
“Too bad you don’t get it, Sissel, do you? It would be fun to work on this together.”
Talking to the cat was a tried and true pastime whenever she got a technical break from the absolute concentration her projects required. In that cozy wintry afternoon, brandishing a plastic welder that would be heating up for next minute or so, Kamila looked at her cat, at the pieces of the soon-to-be noise-cancelling earrings spread out on the table, at her apple tea in her favorite mug which had gone cold thirty minutes earlier but everybody knew that it was the thought that counted and that tea was more of a state of mind anyway, and felt at peace with the world.
Sissel could not quite say the same. What didn’t he get? Couldn’t he? He walked onto the table, feigning nonchalance as only a cat (or a ghost) could do, watching her solder three blue plastic rings and fasten them to an earrings base on one side and to a short chain on the other. At the other end of the chain were the blue silicone bits Alma put in her ears at night, the ones Sissel was not allowed to play with. The look of the plastic rings matched that of the silicone plugs – not the same, but they looked good together, as if they were always meant to be part of the same item. Sissel meowed: he got that much. Kamila set down the rings for a moment and sneaked him a scratch on the back, but did not seem to care for a follow-up to her statement.
The earrings were not the only item on the table. A small crawler robot retrofitted from one of Kamila’s early competitions was waiting for the finishing touches – its flashy new red coating was taking entirely too much to dry, as resin coatings are wont to do, and a bottle of ketchup stood next to it. Sissel slipped into the ghost world to paw at the bizarre contraption, still wondering. He understood soldering, he understood knitting, he knew it was bad when acrylics dripped out of their bottles. He understood checkers and had a beginner’s grasp on chess, and knew how to play mean card tricks with a small human help, so all in all, there was no reason to cut him out of the afternoon’s entertainment. He found the knack that made the little robot start and gave it a little ghostly push, out of boredom and contrarianism.
The robot grabbed the ketchup, surveyed the table, found what looked like a dish and was about to squeeze the condiment on Kamila’s tools when she reached for the off button.
“Sissel, no!” she snorted. “Not like that!”
She never could figure out how the cat pulled these pranks, and as a prospective scientist it stung like a personal failure. Still, as a prospective scientist, she had come to the irrefutable conclusion that it was none other than the cat who did it, and it felt like their little secret, and a bit of magic that brought a strange joy to her rigorous world.
“You silly kitten, you know you are my favorite tester in the whole wide world.” She fastened the welder to its holder and gave Sissel her undivided attention. “And I know you are very, very smart.” That netted her some understated purring that may or may not have been intended as a demure agreement. “And that you understand at least half of what I’m saying. The other half is the stuff you don’t want to hear so that doesn’t count.” Busted.
“But these are the presents I am making for my mom and dad, Sissy. We don’t know who your mom and dad are, so we can’t bring them presents!”
Kamila ran a hand through his cold fur, giving her full consideration to the scenario she had only evoked in a burst of mindless musing. “...or should we bring cat treats to the park next week? Maybe they’re still there and I would not want to be rude. I am very grateful to have you, you know.”
Was that all? Sissel headbutted her wrist when he grew tired of pretending to have a heartbeat and breathe, moving away to the other end of the table and staring at her with bright unblinking eyes.
Humans did love to overcomplicate things, really.
Yet that thought, or part of it, remained appealing.
So he set out to work.
It so happened that Jowd shared many traits with the quintessential cat. This was not always a help to Sissel, who had taken to spending most of his time among humans and sometimes felt like he missed out on the finer complexities of both species. It was, however, enough for him to know, deeply and intimately, that the way the detective went on and on about his upcoming work trip overseas was a desperate caterwauling, a call for help. He was so offended by the sheer fact of being expected to hold a speech at some conference that he neglected to share any details about it, or Sissel wasn’t paying attention on the rare occasions when he did, but what was clear was that the sole thought of leaving felt like torture.
Sissel, then, played a waiting game. He would need a stage for his trick: the right moment had to present itself at the police station, among a crowd of Jowd’s colleagues.
It rained; McCaw walked into the atrium and threw the wet plastic wrapping of a snack into the nearby trashcan. Sissel closed the lid when nobody was watching, letting the plastic fall toward the ground; a well-timed loosening of the radiator’s valve blew it away from the trashcan and close to Jowd’s feet. Now – and this was crucial to Sissel’s plans – Jowd had good eyes and lightning-quick reflexes. He would see the perilous transparent slip of plastic and sidestep to avoid it, even gaining a modicum of admiration from the bystanders. It would only garner more sympathy for his plight, then, when an improbable chain of events that began in the dusty spaces above the cupboards made a bowling ball fall on the desk next to where he’d landed, triggering the drawers’ spring-loaded latches at once and throwing all three drawers at Jowd’s calf with considerable strength. The man yowled in pain as he fell over and squinted at the last movement of this drawers disaster: a sheet of wrapping paper and a ribbon somehow flew out of them only to land exactly on his shoulder.
“Doctor’s gonna order some rest for this. You are welcome,” he said through the ghost world. Jowd’s laughter almost tore down the place and so Sissel congratulated himself upon a job well done: his dad had gotten his present.
His other dad would turn out to be a more complicated affair.
Not that anyone else in all his extended families had any claim to the title of “uncomplicated”, ever, but Yomiel remained the uncontested champion in the opposite direction and so Sissel tailed him for a few days, in and out of the ghost world, waiting for inspiration to strike. Yomiel’s new life needed… a dishwasher, a subscription to at least three computer magazines, a book called “Cooking for newbs” (spelling uncertain), a substantial supply of hair gel, a cat-shaped ladle and a cat-printed tie, Sissel learned, none of which were things a ghost cat could provide, unless a ghost cat felt like stooping to ghost crimes.
Rain again. It was a dark and stormy afternoon when Yomiel grabbed an umbrella and got ready to make a run to the convenience store down the corner; Sissel duly followed him inside the umbrella itself. They coasted a pile of junk discarded next to the wall of an abandoned building – broken chairs, a desk, file cabinets, cardboard boxes littered the sidewalk. Nothing special, nothing new. If not for his ghost senses, Sissel would have never given it a second thought. But that presence was there, undoubtedly. So Sissel jumped out of the umbrella and into a fire hydrant, and from there he frantically looked for the control unit of the nearest street lamp.
Sunlight was fading, and the city would soon bask in in its warm artificial lights, but that one street lamp lit up ahead of time to shine a spotlight on the pile of cardboard boxes. Yomiel raised an eyebrow under his shades. The street lamp went out and lit up again. Yomiel shot it a pointed look and approached the boxes underneath.
As he moved one of them aside, a kitten meowed at him, red fur darkened by the relentless rain. It was lost and hungry and had the biggest, roundest paws; Yomiel teared up as he tried to hold it and felt it hold him in turn. He cradled the kitten close to his chest and greeted it with his warmest, most private smile.
The whole street lit up.
“I know it was you, Sissel,” Yomiel whispered to the empty boxes. “You could’ve just told me! Who’s givin’ ya this knack for theatrics?”
“Statistically, you.”
“As if. I’m onto you. But… thank you, my friend.”
“...you are welcome. Just don’t name it after me, will you? Try to break the streak?”
“I’m not making any promises.”

"max! come back!"
i yelled, chasing after my six year old. i heard him giggle as he ran towards the front door of the office.
"gotcha!"
i said, grabbing his hand before reaching around him and picking him, placing him against my hip with a huff.
"mommy i wanna go."
he whined and i shook my head, opening the door.
"i know baby but you have to be quiet, there are people working."
i said and he nodded, twisting his fist into my red blazer as we got in the elevator.
"do i get to see your office again?"
he asked excitedly and i sent him a smile.
"yes baby, you get to tour the lab too if ginger remembered you where coming today."
i said and he bounced against me, kicking his legs. i could barely hold onto him.
"mommy look!"
he pointed as the elevator opened, the large statesman emblem was embossed on the wall. i nodded with a smile.
"you wanna touch it?"
i asked and he nodded, leaning forward with his hand outstretched. he placed his hand against it, rubbing his fingers into the grooves like he had the last few times he'd visited.
"is that my favorite little man?"
i heard from behind me and turned to look at champ making his way down the hall.
"champ!"
he screamed, wiggling out of my grasp and running into his arms.
"you're getting so big."
champ said with a groan as he hoisted him up into his arms.
"im six now!"
max said loudly as we began the short walk down the hall to my office.
"six?! you're practically a grown up!"
champ said, making max giggle.
"no silly, im not that old."
he said with a smile as we rounded the corner.
"well, big man, what do we have on our list of things to do today?"
he asked as i moved to my desk to start my computer.
"ginger said i could tour the lab!"
he said loudly as champ sat in the chair opposite me, looking up to me and giving me an almost impressed look as max got comfy in his lap.
"well doesnt that sound fun."
max nodded quickly.
"hey kiddo, how about when you're done, you have ginger bring you by my office. i got a present for ya."
champ said and i sent him a look.
"really?!"
max said, wrapping his arms around champs neck in a hug.
"thanks."
he said, champ laughing a little bit as he hugged him back.
"well i gotta get back to work buddy, ill see after the tour. yeah?"
he said, holding him and standing up, setting him down in the chair.
"okay champ!"
he said with a wave and i nodded to champ as he made his way to the door.
"dont forget that mission assessment today either."
he said and i nodded.
"im meeting with jack during the tour."
i said and he nodded before closing the door behind him.
"mommy when do i get to see ginger?"
max asked impatiently as i sat, laughing a little bit.
"let me call her baby and i will let you know."
°°°°°°°°°
"ginger!"
max yelled, letting go of my hand and running to her as the doors opened. to my surprise jack was standing there talking to her, looking to me with an interested look as max came barreling into ginger for a hug. she crouched down and ruffled his hair as he pulled her glasses off, tucking the temples behind his ears and smiling at her widely. i laughed a little bit.
"baby you cant just take peoples glasses without asking first."
i said and he looked to me with a frown.
"sorry."
he said bashfully, handing them back to her and watching her stand.
"its okay max. are we ready for that tour?"
she asked, placing them back on her face, and he nodded quickly.
"please, please, please!"
he said quickly, taking her hand.
"ill see you when we're done?"
she asked and i nodded.
"oh, i almost forgot, take him to the conference room when you're done. champ said he had something for the little mans birthday."
i said looking down at him and raising my brows.
"oh thats right."
she said, also looking down at him.
"youre what? twelve?"
she asked playfully and he laughed.
"ginger, you know i just turned six."
he informed her and she nodded, closing her eyes and acting it up.
"oh thats right! six!"
she said, leaning down to his eyes level.
"i think we have something special just for you in here too."
she said and his eyes went wide.
"really?"
he asked and she nodded.
"yep, but we have to wait till we go see champ before you can have it."
she said and he nodded quickly, squeezing her hand and pulling her forward.
"lets get to it then!"
he said and i laughed, waving as they disappeared further into the room. i shook my head and looked to jack.
"ready to get that meeting started?"
i asked and he nodded, following me as i turned to walk out of the lab.
"so,"
he said and i sent him a raised brow.
"whose kid?"
he asked and i huffed out a laugh.
"mine, jack, he's mine."
i said and he nodded.
"funny, you didnt mention him."
he said and i shook my head.
"forgive me for not informing the out of towner."
i said with a wink and he rolled his eyes.
"hey y/n."
tequila greeted as he rounded the corner just as we did. he tipped his hat to jack.
"whiskey."
he said. i turned around and walked backwards to look at tequila as he got further away.
"max is in the lab with ginger, party in the conference room after their tour."
i said and he fist pumped.
"ill be there!"
i nodded once before turning back around. jack sent me a look.
"what?"
i asked innocently and he shook his head.
"am i the only one that didn't know you had a kid?"
he asked and i laughed.
"guess so cowboy."
i said, opening the door to my office and letting him in.
"as your boyfriend i feel like i shouldve known before now."
he said and i snorted.
"jack you are not my boyfriend."
i reminded and he sent me a look.
"have we not been going on dates?"
he asked and i closed my eyes, shaking my head and making my way behind my desk.
"missions are not dates jack."
i pointed out and he shrugged, dropping into the chair on the other side.
"why not? if i remember correctly most missions aren't supposed to end with your tongue down my throat."
he said and i sent him a stern look.
"jack-"
he held his hands up.
"no, no, i get it. you dont want a relationship as much as i don't. we're on the same page."
he said and i sighed.
"jack we talked about this. we both have our reasons for not getting into it. i just... i dont want him to get used to someone and then things end badly again. hes already lost one dad, i cant live with the guilt of breaking his heart like that again."
i said and he nodded.
"darlin, i know better than anyone what its like to lose your family, but that doesnt mean we both cant move forward. we have shared experience in that department, maybe it could make our relationship stronger."
i looked to my desk for a moment.
"let me prove it to you. let me take you out on a proper date, let your kiddo get used to me as another statesman agent, and if things get serious later on down the line then great, we can let him know about us."
he said and i looked back to him, chewing the inside of my lip.
"fine. ill let him get close to you today, see if he likes you if you really do plan on hanging around for a bit."
he nodded.
"champ needs me here for a while, i wont be going back to new york long term for at least a few months. besides, you know how badly i wanted to be a dad once upon a time, let me show you i can do this."
he said and i sighed.
"alright, ill give you a shot. but for now lets just get to work. we have to finish this mission report before the tour is over."
he nodded once.
"yes ma'am."
°°°°°°°°°
"mommy look!"
max shouted as jack and i walked into the conference room, running to me wearing his very own black Stetson and bolo tie.
"champ said im an honorary statesman!"
he said excitedly, fixing the tie into place. i laughed a little bit, looking to champ sat at the desk before crouching down in front of him.
"and you are the cutest statesman there ever was."
i said, holding his waist lightly and kissing his cheek. he giggled at me before hugging me quickly and running back to the table.
"now you look like whiskey."
tequila joked, pointing to jack and max looked at him. his eyes went wide as he set his crayon down onto the coloring page he was working on.
"i wanna be like whiskey!"
he said boldly, sliding off the chair and standing next to him, copying the exact way he was standing. jack dropped to one knee and looked over at max.
"its like looking in a tiny mirror."
jack said, max beaming at his words. they both looked up at me.
"what do we think mom? dont we look alike?"
jack tormented and i sent him a testing look.
"i guess we have a new favorite huh?"
i said slightly amused and max side nodded.
"mommy, no one could replace you, but i cant dress like you your shoes are to hard to walk in."
he said, making us all laugh as he climbed back into the chair and went back to coloring.
"thank you baby, i appreciate that."
i said, taking the seat next to him and looking at the page he was working so diligently on.
"did we get more horses?"
i asked, looking to ginger and her nodding.
"i remembered how much he loved going to the stables last time he was here."
she said and i sent her a knowing smile.
"oh, yeah, he has been obsessed ever since."
i said, looking back to him. my gaze made its way to jack as he looked down at him coloring.
"you like horses buddy?"
he asked and max nodded.
"my favorite is the mustang. mommy even lets me watch spirit before dinner every night."
he said proudly, not looking away from his project.
"how would you like to see a real life one?"
jack asked and i sent him a look. max's head snapped in his direction quickly.
"you have a mustang?!"
he asked bewildered and jack laughed.
"yeah i do. ill make you a deal."
he said, pointing at max and max was hooked.
"next time you come in with your mommy, and she's okay with it, ill take ya to go see him. and maybe take ya for a ride around the complex."
he said and max looked to me quickly.
"mommy! mommy please! i wanna see the mustang!"
he said and i sighed, brushing some of the hairs out of his eyes.
"okay baby, next time you visit we can go see whiskeys mustang."
i said and he fist pumped the air.
"yes! thank you mommy!"
he said hugging me. i watched jack with a burning gaze as he sat on the other side of max. i looked to champ and he sent me an amused look.
"kids will be kids."
he said and i rolled my eyes.
"now, how about that birthday cake we talked about?"

Ghost
Summary: Kurtz/Reader Request: using the song Ghost by Jacob Lee
You nudge the window open, letting the sound of the rain offset the music you have faintly playing. You pull the book closer to you, balancing your notebook on the chairs arm as you scribble notes and quote ideas for your english essay. You frown when you smell smoke wrinkling your nose as you stand on the chair about to close the window. You hesitate when you hear talking, nervous about being spotted, you don’t think anyone who’s out back behind the school smoking wants some random person eavesdropping.
You catch the eye of the figure under the window, when you stick your arm out to close it. “Hey there.” You don’t say anything closing the window sharply; you can hear his laugh muffled now; your face heats up as you try to shake the thought of his smile. You focus back to your book not moving when the bell rings and ignoring the look from the librarian. You knows she won’t actually kick you out. You’re distracted, humming even though your playlist ended hours ago and you’re halfway through the last chapter when a hand nudges it out of your grip, folding over the corner. “Missing lunch isn’t healthy.” You freeze at the voice from the boy under the window.
“Kurtz.” He smiles again holding his hand out. You smile back shaking it. “This is where you tell me your name..” He nods and you jerk back as the Ghoulies pull him away from you. “Kurtz come on; Lance said the Serpent’s are itching for a fight. You can play later.” James, one of the head Ghoulies shoves him towards the door. He nods turning from you; you watch his smile replaced by a frown and brush it off as him being upset about however he was going to play, you shiver at the implication and tuck your book into your bag; deciding to take his advice and make your way to the lunch room. You settle for breezing by it, hearing the screaming and laughing; you know there’s at least one fight happening.
You keep your head down like usual. Staying in the library whenever you get the chance. You keep the window open where you sit; refusing to admit to yourself you’re hoping to hear more of Kurtz, to find an excuse to talk to him. You catch him smoking and each time he offers you a half smile rolling his eyes when you jerk the window closed. He’d been sick the past few days, or maybe the rain had been too heavy, whatever reason he wasn’t at his usual spot and you tried to mask your disappointment.
You watch a figure stumble in, soaked and dripping on the carpet you watch as they stagger towards the back, near the computer room. You think you can hear them muffle a scream. You stand and move towards the room they most likely went into. You step through the doors watching nervously as a figure slumped against one of the tables looks up. “Hey.” You frown at how his voice slurs, you wince as you notice the blood on the side of his cheek. “Don’t worry about it, from the fight in the cafeteria.” “That was weeks ago.” You speak and he smiles wincing as you can see the cut on his cheek reopens. “Kurtz, what happened?” “Nothing.” He leans forward, letting your hand brush against his cheek. “Let me help?” You half question, pulling a cloth out and wiping is carefully against his cheek. “Sorry it’s not the best, but that doesn’t look near as bad with that blood gone.” You assure him and he nods. “Thank you.”
“Y/n. Are you alright? I thought I heard you scream earlier, was that just the pain?” “Yeah pain.” He seems to tense, you can see it in his shoulders. You nod to him, trying to convey you wont talk more about it. “It’s nothing just a stupid Ghoul thing.” You hum slightly nodding for him to continue. “Part of being with them. Have to go against one of the higher members at random times. Lance thought it’d be funny to throw me against Shank.” “Shank?” “No one you should concern yourself with.” “Most would say the same about you, you know that right?” He laughs nodding. “You want me to look at that later today?” “You trying to ask to come over?” You look to the ground nodding. “If you want.” “We got partnered on that history project anyways.” “History project?” “Yeah if you ever went to class you’d know.” “I go to class, sometimes.” He laughs and you can’t help but smile with pride.
You’re standing by the flag pole nervously watching the group of Ghoulies, you can tell they’re waiting for someone, and when Kurtz steps out they straighten up. Seeing his back you manage to get a proper look at the jacket he sports, black leather all the way around, a few studs against the back, around the patch of a skull wrapped with chains. You frown at the Ghoul mark but wait wondering if he’s going to turn. He doesn’t but you can see him talking, pointing back towards the school. One of the ghouls nods towards you and you look away, you can see Kurtz look back at you and nod, the other Ghoulies shaking there heads and pulling him away. You can see him pull back from them and you try your best not to look to hopeful when he turns towards you. One of them reaches out and tugs him back, looping there arm around him and grinning darkly at you. You can feel a hand on your shoulder once Kurtz disappears from your vision. “He’s useless to concern yourself with.” Is hissed into your ear, by the time you turn to where the voice comes from you’re alone by the flag pole once more.
You watch Kurtz closer after that, you fingers drumming against the desk as you sit in the back of history, he nudges you when the bell rings and you walk slightly behind him as he makes his way to English, you’re surprised to see he shares it with you and the teacher seems even more surprised to see you sitting in your seat next to him. “Come over today.” He hums flicking through the copy of Brave New World. “I thought we were reading Fahrenheit 451.” “ That’s next semesters-“ The teacher rolls his eyes as you nudge the bookmark back in place, three chapters from finishing. “Brave New World it is. Yay orgies and drugs.” Kurtz snorts smiling at you. “Kurtz is there something you’d like to share about Mr. Huxley’s work?” “Yeah sounds like his idea of a utopia was just the Ghoul’s Friday night.” The teachers not impressed scowling and giving him detention.
“Sorry Y/N guess we have to postpone the history project again.” He laughs under his breath and you roll your eyes. “Well I’ll definitely have to come over Friday, can’t miss out on a real life Brave New World experience, you think I’ll get extra credit if I take pictures?” You wink and snicker, catching the teacher’s eyes in a glare. You try your best not to beam when he give you detention. “Well then Y/N don’t tell me I’m a bad influence on you.” “Not at all, if anything I’m a bad influence on you; making you miss Ghoul meeting and-“ “SHIT!” Kurtz slams his fist onto the table and the teacher looks unimpressed. “Kurtz what have-“
“Fuck off.” He hisses standing and walking out of the room, you watch as the teacher doesn’t look up as you move to follow him. “Kurtz?” “They told me if I missed one I was out.” “Well that doesn’t seem anything like a decent gang.” “What?” “I mean if they’re going to kick you out cause you don’t show for one meeting seems a little extreme, plus they’d have less members if that was an actual rule.” “I know but I can’t-“
“Cant what? They need you more that you need them.” “No I’m; I’m nothing without them.” “So you just came into being with a little leather jacket? An undying sense of loyalty to a gang you met when you started high school? It’s been years with you in them; you really think they’re going to throw you out cause you miss one meeting?” He nods feverishly and shoves his bag into your hands. “Can you meet me in the library? After this meeting.” “Of course.” You turn starting for the library, no point in going to class when there’s only one left.
You’re sitting in your usual spot watching the door. You don’t mean to snoop but when you shift moving Kurtz’s bag next to yours you can see the bright cover of the sketchbook. You assume the meeting has just started so you pull it out carefully opening it. You skim through the pages, mostly half finished sketches, and colour combinations; you laugh at the sketch, clearly done form his point of view, your arm reaching out to close the window, the top of your head just visible. You turn the page watching and the sketches end up more finished but almost an unrecognisable style; the bright colours are what throw you off the most, before it have been almost completely pencils and now it was neon in comparrision, paints and chalk colour faces and clothes outlandishly bright. You note in place of a signature all that’s written is a squashed ‘jangle 2 ½ tubes; twenty minutes.’ You try your best not to think about this being the day of the fight; how the serpents have neon blues and greens dripping from their faces and the knife one of the Ghouls has drips the same.
Kurtz doesn’t say anything and you debating telling him you looked through his sketchbook but decide against it for the moment. He’s brought you back to his house, pulling his books out gives you the excuse you need. “What’s that?” “Sketchbook, mostly empty, ghouls don’t like me doing art, says it distracts from the gang.” You nod but he laughs catching you frowning. “Don’t agree with them?” “If they think you drawing is distracting what on earth do they have to say about me?”
“Well they don’t like me socializing outside of the gang and the thought of me dating outside of it isn’t something they consider.” You swallow leaning closer to him. “If you’re already distracted by art;” You nudge the sketchbook from where it sits between you on the bed scooting into the space made by it. “Why shouldn’t you be distracted by something more enjoyable?”

Free Move Apartment Locating Companies - Know the Truth!
55+ apartments johns creek
Many of us are attracted to the term "free", as well as the proven fact that we have been getting something absolutely free. There are many legitimate free offerings available to consumers inside a wide selection of settings. For example, Apartment Locators truly offer a valuable want to all renters that are looking for a flat, and also the services are free on the renter, saving them a lot of time driving around visiting a large number of properties, and intensely probably passing up on the best deals and also the best apartments.

However, there's also many companies who use the word "free" to entice customers, and then they might actually provide you with the service or product that they can initially promised. They get past this deception by writing countless loopholes in to the fine print of these advertisement that they can always excuse the absence of delivery. So caution is obviously as a way when you find yourself trusting service repair shop who plans to give you something important for free.
Moving is a very stressful here we are at many. Often you can find deadlines to get from your current apartment by a certain time. You can find what to sort and boxes to pack it, also to pack carefully in order to avoid anything from being broken. Then there is the careful loading and also the careful unloading and also the unpacking and placing and sorting. You need to allow time and energy to clean the previous apartment before you submit the keys, and you've got to make sure you happen to be stopping by the new apartment during business hours to help you receive the keys to your brand-new home. You've utilities to disconnect and new utilities for connecting. A whole lot is taking place at once, high always is the concern that you might have forgotten something important. You already arranged your schedule to offer the day free for moving. You have all your affairs so as, so you are just looking forward to the movers to come. The LAST thing that you'll require is really a glitch over some small detail in terms and conditions that causes your moving company never to arrive and deliver that "free" move which you were depending on and getting yourself ready.
That is just what became of a buddy of mine very recently. She used some of those apartment locating companies from the Dallas, TX area that supposedly offered a "free" move. I wont mention names here, but it's a common company. Anyway, she gets home from work and it has all of her items packed capable to go. It is a Friday evening, and he or she has had the move scheduled using the movers for weeks. She has to become Away from her apartment by midnight THAT night. They may be suppose in the future at 7:00 pm, so there is a little a period crunch but that's the sole time the movers had available. They finally arrive, take a look at her small 1 bedroom apartment and tell her "The free move only covers 2 hours price of free moving. It appears as though you've more items than we are able to move around in 2 hours" (fine print), and so they leave!!!! My buddy is panicking. Jane is one particular lady who lives through herself and it has to become from her apartment in just a few hours. If she resides in a small 1 bedroom and had too many items so they can move, it can make me wonder just who they COULD move?? Anyway, my good friend calls me at 8:00 desperate and crying. I rally up our other friends and that we manage to find a U Haul place that's still open and rent a truck. All of us go over and move her that very same evening. She got out of her apartment in time, and she got a free move alright, nevertheless it wasn't from the company who promised her the move. She did everything she was suppose to do, wrote their name for the Leasing Application because Locating Company who referred her on the new apartments, plus they GOT Taken care of THE REFERRAL, yet they didn't provide you with the move that they can promised.
Apparently a number of these "free move" companies have small print that limits just how long they are going to offer you to the move. And just what happens in the event the move goes wrong with go over that point. Can they just leave? Evidently. Or, when they look over your items and feel the job will take beyond the allowed time, they could not START the move. One more thing to watch out for within the small print....not merely may there be limits to the time they will allow, but they often limit like items and the amount of items they'll move. For instance, when you have a 1 bedroom, they often have a very specific report on the only real items they are going to move. For example: 1 couch, 1 table, one dinning table, 4 dining chairs, a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, 2 lamps, a few boxes (they frequently will still only accept move a small amount of boxes) and a lot of times that is certainly it!! In case you have a couple bedroom, they may increase the list with the help of another bed and dresser. But what if however, you have an item that's not on the list.....like a desk, or possibly a curio cabinet, or even a piano, or perhaps an aquarium, or a dresser or an extra table or a loveseat, or a recliner, or even a number of boxes compared to they allow? Don't be surprised whenever they leave all items behind that aren't on the restrictive list, and you really are just stuck determining how to deal with them yourself. If it is enough items, or things that are just right, you might end up needing to rent a truck or UHaul anyway, or call friends who are able to come help you.
Another friend recently told me that something similar became of him that happened to my first friend. He was using one of people apartment locating firms that provide a "free" move. He said they were calling him daily when he was ready for the apartment, trying difficult to convince him to maneuver into one of the few places that they recommended. Each day they called to find out if he picked a place yet if he placed their name about the Leasing Using any apartments yet. Finally he did choose a place, anf the husband did put there name there because Locator who referred him. And then, a fascinating thing happened. He could never get ahold of anyone in the apartment locating company again! Once they found he picked a spot and wrote them down (their check was guaranteed), they never called him after that. They would not return his calls anf the husband couldn't discover a real live human from the company to talk with as a way to schedule his free move. He finished up the need to hire another mover in the long run. The "free" move locating company got paid their cash and they never delivered the disposable move.
How would be the "free move" locating companies not the same as all the other Apartment Locating Companies? Well, there are several definite differences that you should know about. First of all, let's establish the fact that most Apartment Locating companies do not need to give you a "free move" to entice customers. Many experts have shown their superb customer satisfaction along with the expertise they offer will save you the average renter $500-$700.....which is considerably more valuable as opposed to price of a couple hour move. Plus, they truly be useful for finding the top and quite a few awesome apartment home. Another clear difference is that this: Not all of the apartment communities out there work with the "free move" locating companies. In fact, some of them won't. This is because of a combination of reasons.
For one, some "free move" companies do not have the most effective reputation. Secondly, many of the apartments tend not to believe that they actually earned the commission that they are wanting the apartments to spend them. Among those free move companies just have an online site where you sign on and check on your own. They only will show you information on the small selection of of properties which will actually work using them and pay them back. Once you look for a place, you go online again on the website and inform them which you picked and therefore the computer is suppose to schedule the move. Not every nokia's are similar, however this is the process for some. A true human isn't even actively involved in assisting you using your search in many cases. Many of the apartments believe just putting a website online alone does not merit earning a commission. Now you may have an online prescence. The truth is, the apartments already have their own website. While there is no problem using a Locating Company creating a website (in fact, every one of them do), the challenge arises if the locator ONLY communicates through the website and therefore are predominantly a dot.com business.
The apartment complexes don't wish to pay a dot.com for establishing a website and then only delivering what you promises the main time. They would like to pay Apartment Locators that have a brick and mortar office, who've actual live Agents who work there and who deal one-on-one together with the potential renters, assisting them to find their new rental home with customized, individual lists of apartment information. Often times these Locators even escort their customers to the properties. In the event the client carries a unique situation, the Locator can identify them which properties are in all likelihood to be effective their their own circumstances. They know who may have the very best specials on the market, or who may have the particular amenities how the renter is seeking. The renter can actually call their Locator and meet with them and get questions and create a working relationship.
What is the disadvantage for you personally, the objective renter, when they are not all of the apartments works using the "move free" locating companies? The situation arises in that the "move free" information mill only planning to recommend for you the particular apartments that occur to utilize them. Which means that you may not find out about the property that's actually the the one which matches precisely what you would like and possesses the top special. They are going to only display information for the properties who covers the cost them. Once you make use of a traditional Apartment Locator who works with All of the properties within the City, you can depend on that you will be receiving the whole picture and can honestly be known about every one of the properties that have the most effective specials. This is the distinct advantage that real local Apartment Locators have on the so-called "free move" locators. Most traditional Apartment Locators work with All the reputable apartment and townhome communities. No matter to them what one you pick in the end as long as you are satisfied, because These pays the Locator and assist the Agent. They have no need to try to steer that you one particular property over another. Their job is usually to recommend who has the best selection and appears to be the best match for you.

For example: 1 couch, 1 table, one dining room table, 4 dining chairs, a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, 2 lamps, a few boxes (they often is only going to consent to move a small number of boxes) and lots of times that's it!! In case you have a couple bedroom, they could increase the list with the addition of another bed and dresser. But what if you have an item which is not on their own list.....say for example a desk, or even a curio cabinet, or even a piano, or perhaps an aquarium, or a dresser or perhaps an extra table or perhaps a loveseat, or a recliner, or perhaps a number of boxes compared to they allow? Don't let yourself be surprised when they leave all items behind which aren't on his or her restrictive list, and you are just stuck working out what to do with them yourself. If it is enough items, or goods that are sufficient, you may find yourself needing to rent a truck or UHaul anyway, or call friends that can come assist you to.
Another friend recently told me that something similar happened to him that happened to my first friend. He was using one of people apartment locating firms that give you a "free" move. He stated these folks were calling him every day as they was looking for the apartment, trying difficult to convince him to advance into mostly of the places that they had recommended. Each day they called to check if he picked a location yet and if he place their name for the Leasing Using any apartments yet. Finally he did look for a place, and that he did put there name there since the Locator who referred him. Next, an appealing thing happened. He could never get ahold of anyone at the apartment locating company again! If they found out he picked a location and wrote them down (their check was guaranteed), they never called him and then. They wouldn't return his calls and the man couldn't discover a real live human within the company to talk with to be able to schedule his free move. He found themselves needing to hire another moving companies ultimately. The "free" move locating company got paid their and so they never delivered the free move.
How will be the "free move" locating companies distinctive from all the other Apartment Locating Companies? Well, there are many definite differences that you ought to keep in mind. For starters, let's establish the fact most Apartment Locating companies need not give you a "free move" to entice customers. It's been shown the superb customer support and the expertise they have preserves the normal renter $500-$700.....that's much more valuable compared to the cost of a 2 hour move. Plus, they truly assist you in finding the most effective and a lot awesome apartment home. Another clear difference is: Not every the apartment communities on the market works together with the "free move" locating companies. Actually, some of them will not likely. This is due to a variety of reasons.
For one, a few of these "free move" companies don't have the very best reputation. Secondly, many of the apartments don't feel that they actually earned the commission that they are wanting the apartments to pay for them. Some of those free move companies have an internet site where you login and look yourself. They just will highlight info on the small selection of of properties which will work well together and outlay cash. Once you pick a place, you log on again on the website and say to them which one you picked and so the computer is suppose to schedule the move. Not every one of the businesses are the same, however this is the method for a few. An actual human is just not even actively linked to helping you with your search in many cases. Lots of the apartments think that just putting a website alone won't merit earning a commission. Now you may have an online prescence. The truth is, the apartments currently have their own website. To find out no problem which has a Locating Company having a website (the truth is, every one of them do), the issue arises when the locator ONLY communicates through their website and are predominantly a dot.com business.
The apartment complexes don't wish to pay a dot.com for generating a website after which only delivering what you promises area of the time. They want to pay Apartment Locators who've a local office, who've actual live Agents who work there and who deal one-on-one with all the potential renters, assisting these to find their new rental home with customized, individual lists of apartment information. Often times these Locators even escort their customers towards the properties. In the event the client features a unique situation, the Locator can identify them which properties are usually to work their their particular circumstances. They are fully aware that has the top specials available, or who's the actual amenities how the renter needs. The renter can call their Locator and talk with them and get questions and build a working relationship.
What is the disadvantage for YOU, the objective renter, when they are not every one of the apartments will work with the "move free" locating companies? The challenge arises because the "move free" publication rack only planning to recommend to you this apartments which occur to utilize them. Which means that you might not find out about the property who is in truth the the one which matches exactly what you need and contains the most effective special. They will only display information for the properties who covers the cost them. Whenever you start using a traditional Apartment Locator who works with Every one of the properties in the City, you can depend on that you will be getting the whole picture and can honestly be known about all the properties that have the most effective specials. This can be a distinct advantage that real physical Apartment Locators have in the so-called "free move" locators. Most traditional Apartment Locators assist Each of the reputable apartment and townhome communities. No matter for many years which you choose ultimately if you are content, because Them all will probably pay the Locator and work with the Agent. Other product should attempt to steer one to a definite property over another. Their job would be to recommend who may have the best selection and appears to be the top match in your case.

"Um..who made you mad"? Chris nervously asked as you forcefully and angrily chopped the carrots. He covered his dick, he felt sorry for the carrot. When it was a guy problem you cooked and did it dangerously. Everyone one knew to stay away from you when you had a knife.
"No one. Why do you ask"? You growled, picking up a potato and stabbing it.
"You murdered that carrot and what did the potato do to deserve that"? He asked examining the pieces of carrot around the cutting board and the potato with the knife still stabbed in it.
"I don't know, maybe his girlfriend hasn't heard from him in three days and is anxious that he doesnt love her anymore so he needs to be chopped up into little pieces".
"Ryan hasn't called"?
"Hasn't called, text, facetimed. Nothing". You huffed. Chris came over carefully and wrapped his arms around your shoulders. Ryan was one of his best friends but no one was going to hurt his little sister.
"Have you talked to him"?
"It's been a couple days".
"I just dont know what I did for him not to answer me". You sniffled away a tear. Chris grew angry. No one was going to treat you like this.
"You did nothing wrong. He's probably just busy".
You turned around, pulling out your phone showing Ryan's Instagram post about how he's hanging out with a group of friends this weekend.
"He's not to busy for a party but to busy for a phone call from me"?
Chris sighed. He didn't know what to say. Ryan could have answered and told you that he was busy with friends. After three years together that was the right thing to do.
"When's dinner going to be ready"? Chris asked going to get his jacket.
"It'll be awhile. Why"?
"Thought I might get a movie or something".
"Okay". You thought that was odd but shrugged it off and went back to the massacre of vegetables.
Chris rode to Ryan's house, he wanted to see what was up with him.
Chris knocked and AJ answered the door.
"Sup man". AJ greeted him.
"Where's Ryan"?
"In the basement. Dude what's going on"? AJ followed Chris with caution.
Chris walked into the basement, Ryan and a bunch of guys from the crew were playing Fortnite laughing having a good time while his sister sat at home wondering what she did wrong.
Chris got so angry that he throw Ryan's computer screen off the table it shattered to tiny pieces.
"Dude what the fuck"? Ryan pushed Chris.
"Why haven't you called or answers Y/N"?
"You wrecked my computer".
"You hurt my sister. I knew you two shouldn't have gotten together but she really likes you and I thought you would be good together but I was wrong. Fucking wrong".
"What are you talking about"?
"Y/N, she's called and texted you but you're to busy to notice her and that she's hurting".
"Oh shit". Ryan pulled out his phone and turned it on. The moment it came on it dinged and dinged some more. All called and messages came from you.
"I turned it off when we started playing".
"You ignored my sister for some fortnite game? Really"?
"I'm sorry man. I'll call her now and explain".
"She's not going to believe it. She's over at my house wondering what she did wrong. She's killing carrots probably thinking they're your dick. I felt bad for her and the carrot".
"I'm sorry. This game was important to me".
"And Y/Ns not? You really screwed up. Should've told her". Chris walked out of the basement and left going back to his house.
Chris came in the house falling on the couch with a huff as you put the plates on the table.
"You okay? Where's the movie"?
"I forgot it". He mumbled into the pillow.
"Then where did you go"?
"Ryan's".
"Chris, you didn't"?
"I had to see what was so important".
"What was it? It's not another girl"? You started biting your nails.
"No it's not a girl. It's video games".
"He fucking ignored me for a damn game". You screamed. You had to confront Ryan.
Chris groaned going after you. Mainly to keep you from killing Ryan.
Bursting through the door, Ryan sat at his desk trying to fix his computer.
"Are you serious"?
"I'm sorry baby, I should told you that I was spending the weekend with the guys gaming". He quickly turned in his chair getting up.
"You had me thinking the worst. Is he cheating, am I not good enough. The thoughts in my head made me feel like shit. You hate when I do something like this so why do it to me"?
"I forgot. I'm sorry. What can I do to make it up to you"?
"Nothing, I just got really worried that I done something or wasn't good enough for you anymore that you moved on".
Ryan moved your chin to look at him. "Don't ever think that. You're always going to be my number one. There will never be anyone as great as you. You're my everything. I just fucked up and turned my phone off. I should have told you so you wouldn't worry. I'm sorry. I love you, can you forgive me"?
"Yeah, I love you too". Ryan pulled your chin to his kissing you deeply and lustfully. Chris stood there in disgust, his sister making out with his friend.
"So are you two good"?
"We're good". You smiled at Ryan.
"But you and I have busy to attend to. You broke me computer".
"I'm sorry. I was angry that you did that to my sister and I took it out".
"I get that but that was a nine hundred dollar computer screen and I want it replaced before I have another fortnight gaming session". You eyed him.
"I'll let you know in advance so I wont worry you. I promise". He kissed your temple.
"I'll see what I can do". Chris shrugged his shoulders as he walked off.
"See? You'll do Chris Cerulli". Ryan yelled.
"If you'd answered none of this would of happened". Ryan stood there shocked.
"Come here, I'll make it better". You hugged him.
"You gonna buy me a new screen"?
"No". You laughed as he dramatically cried.

Telling the Paladins Your Pregnant Preference
Request; Can I be your first Voltron request? Reader being pregnant with the paladins baby and revealing to them?
They start getting shorter towards the end :/ sorry
___________________________________________
Pidge
"What're you gonna name him?"
Your eyes watch as Pidge pulls the small chip from the computer, grinning at her older brother and jogging up to him and the robot next to him,
"How about Chip?" She teases, holding up the chip between her fingers and handing it to Matt,
"You and your puns," Matt shakes his head, Pidge shrugging sheepishly and placing her glasses on the robots nose,
"Sorry, I just cant wait for someone else around the house," She hops on her toes, looking over at you when you stand from her desk,
"Maybe we wont have to," Chest tightening, you watch Pidge tilt her head in confusion, before she follows your hands placed at your stomach,
It takes her mind a full half minute to process your gesture, before she gasps, loudly, "Oh my God! It worked!?"
You nod, tearily, hand coming to your cheek as you sniffle,
"It worked!" Pidge turns to Matt sharply, grin hurting her face, "Oh my gosh, Im gonna be a momma!" She turns back to you, "You're going to be a momma!"
You laugh, Pidge running up to you, hands at your face, "This is amazing," She pecks your lips, "This small piece of tech could help millions of women wanting to be mothers," Pidge takes your hand, tugging you outside of the shed, "Mom! Dad! You're going to be grandparents!"
"It worked?" Samuel turns to the two teenagers, your eye's already red from tears of excitement,
"Oh that's great!" Colleen embraces you, your eyes pinching shut as your arms slide to her back, "Congratulations! If you need any help during the pregnancy dont be afraid to ask!"
Colleen leans back, hand wiping your leaked tears, "Now that means no more skipping meals and sleep to work all night, both of you, understood?"
She eyes Pidge,
"But Im not the one pregnant," Pidge reminds, Colleen rolling her eye's,
"Yes but Y/N is also going to become very moody and very touch starved. We dont need you out of her reach or snapping at her from being too tired," Colleen demands, your eyes looking at the ex paladin next to you,
Pidge crosses her arms, faking a pout, "Yes mother,"
Keith
Keith was easy to find. If he wasnt in his lion or with the team, he was either asleep, with you, or training,
He hasn't been in his room all day, and he hasnt seen you since lunch, so that only meant one place,
The training deck
Watching him clash bayards with the training bot, you lean against the thick wall behind you, twirling the small device in your hand behind your back,
You had woken up sick for the past week. Asking Coran and being placed in the healing pod for two minutes, Coran revealed you were in fact pregnant,
He had transfered the reveal to a smaller device, claiming it would be easier to show Keith that way, and calmly pressured you to talk to the Red Paladin
So here you were, face flushed with terror and stomach tightening as if threatening to puke again for the second time that day,
Keith watches as the bot vanishes in defeat, before his gaze finally catches you and his smile is back on his face,
"Hey," He pants, clasping his bayard on his belt and walking up to you, "Want to train?"
"I think I enjoy just watching you," You smile, placing your lips over his slowly, "I need to show you something,"
"Sure," He heaves, brushing black hair from his face and looking down at your extended hand, "Whats this?"
He lifts the small device, two pink lines visible,
"Coran gave it to me after I was put in the healing pod," You speak quietly, Keiths eyes snapping up to yours,
"Why were you in the healing pod?" His hand presses to your forehead, "You okay?"
"Im fine," You smile, "Keith, Im pregnant,"
"You're-" Keith inhales, looking back down to the lines, "You're pregnant? And its mine?"
"No its Zarkons," You shoot, rolling your eye's, "Yes its yours,"
"I'm going to be a dad?" Keith slides his hand into his hair, stepping back, "What if I become just like my father? Abandon you and the baby?"
"You won't," You grasp his shirt, pulling him back to you and placing his large hand at your stomach, "Because you aren't your father, you're Keith Kogane, the father to my baby,"
"This is the worse timing ever," Keith groans, head falling back, "You're not allowed to leave the ship, understood?"
"Yes sir," You grin, Keith dropping the device to cup your face and pull your lips back onto his,
Shiro
"I'm what?"
You step out of the healing pod, eyes wide on the red head in front of you,
"Pregnant!" Coran smiles, twirling his mustache in his finger, "And I hope its Shiros, no?"
"Of course its Shiros! Whose else would it be?" You grasp your hair, eyes watering,
"What's going on?" Shiro steps into the medic bay with Allura on his tail, catching you covering your face, "Is everything okay?"
"Wonderful, actually," Coran raises an eyebrow, "Congratulations,"
"On what?" Shiro furrows his eyebrows together, looking at you, "Y/N, are you okay?"
You slide your hands from your now stained cheeks, sniffling, "I-I dont know," You shake your head, Shiro looking at Coran before pulling you against him, "Coran, whats going on?"
"Well you see," Coran clears his throat, "Have You noticed Y/N getting sick lately?"
"Yes," Shiro nods, "But I thought it was just from the food goo. Maybe eating it too much,"
"Im pregnant," You pull back before Coran could reveal, looking up at the man, "Its yours,"
"Oh Y/N, thats great!" Allura smiles, Shiro blinking, his hands tightening at your waist,
"Pregnant? In the middle of war?" Shiro swallows, and you hug yourself, looking down,
"Y/N will be safe here in the castle with us, of course," Coran nods once, Shiro tilting your chin up so your eyes were forced to meet his,
"We'll work it out," His thumb drags over your cheek,
"You're not mad?" You whisper, Shiro smiling weakly and pulling you closer, lips bonding to yours,
"How could I be mad? Im going to be a dad,"
Lance
"No wonder the bed was cold,"
You glance up and over your shoulder at a voice, eyes landing on Lance standing in his plad blue pjs, "You're in here by yourself and not in bed with me,"
"Couldnt sleep," You force your lips together, turning back to the tea Coran had made you,
"Everything okay?" Lance pulls a stool next to you, sitting down and resting a hand at your upper back, "You look pale,"
"Im pregnant," You pinch your eyes shut, before turning to face Lance. His hand had retracted, eyes staring at your face for what seems like hours but its only a minute,
"Please say something," You squeak, eyes brinming with tears Lance instantly notices,
"No no no!" Lance quickly remembers it late at night, lowering his voice, "Dont cry," His hands slide to your face, laugh weak, "This is amazing,"
"It is?" You swallow, "But we're in the middle of battling Honvera, our reality could be destroyed,"
"All of that doesnt matter," Lance stands up, raising you to your feet and pulling you into his chest, "Because I know once we go back to earth, my family is going to be thrilled,"
"They're going to flip," You choke out a laugh, looking up at the boy, "I cant believe this is happening,"
Lance flashes you his famous grin, kneeling doen and placing his hands at your stomach, softly speaking a flurry of Spanish you dont understand,
Putting a hand in his hair, you sniff, Lance standing back up and pressing his lips against yours, eyes shutting,
"Too bad its night time and everyones asleep,"
"Whys that?"
"Because I really want to yell in Shiros face that theres a new Space Dad in town,"
Hunk
You hadnt meant to wake him up. He looked so peaceful in the three seconds you got to look at his face, before your body forced itself to the bathroom to kneel at the toilet,
You thought you were quiet, but the hair pulling itself from your face was an answer alone that Hunk had followed you to check up on you,
"Thats the third time this week youve thrown up," Hunk frowns, grabbing a hair band to pull your hair into a messy bun, "And its only Tuesday,"
"Guess I just have the jitters," You force a laugh, coughing into the toilet and groaning, Hunks hand running up your back, "Or the stomach bug,"
"I can make you some green tea," Hunk suggests, your watery eyes looking at him and catching his soft smile, "Itll help ease your stomach,"
You nod, wiping your mouth and flushing the toilet, taking Hunks hand to stand on your own two feet, "I'll go see if Coran can give me a check up," You put a hand on your stomach, Hunk wrapping his arm at your waist to help you out of your shared bedroom,
"You two alright?"
You look over, Pidge standing just outside her door and staring, "I heard someone running,"
"Sorry I woke you up Pidge," You say genuinely, Pidge waving you off,
"Can you make sure she gets to Coran okay? Im going to make her tea," Hunk steps back from you, Pidge taking his spot by grasping your arm,
"You know, I dont want to spook you," Pidge looks up at you, "But weird food cravings? Sudden tiredness? Sickness? I think you might be pregnant,"
"What?" You dont notice your knees buckle until Pidge has her arms at your torso, and Keith is running up to throw your arm around his shoulder and lead you to the medic bay,
"Oh quiznack!" Coran starts up a healing pod, waving you inside, "What happened?"
"Coran, I think Y/N's pregnant," Pidge admits her theory, the shatter of a cup making the three turn to face Hunk, his eyes wide and face pale,
"She's what?" Hunk squeaks, Coran looking over in time for the pod to ding,
"Yep," He leans back, your body stepping out, "Y/Ns pregnant. Three weeks exact,"
Your wide eyes look at Hunk, before you yelp when his arms wrap around you, lifting you up,
"Holy- this is amazing!" Hunk sets you down, grin wide, "I mean, Im not ready to be a dad yet but no dad ever is,"
"I'm pregnant?" You murmur, hand running through your hair, "Oh God, I need to sit down," You pinch your eyes shut, Hunk lifting you and placing you on the table nearest to the pods,
"Its always a shock at first to new mothers," Coran explains, Pidge bringing in a new cup of tea, "But you will both be great parents, I can reassure,"
"Im not ready to be a mom!" You cry out, "I'm only nineteen, I was wanting to go to college and get married first- you know if our reality doesnt get destroyed, which, how the hell am I supposed to fight Honvera if Im pregnant!?"
"Well of course you wont be fighting," Coran clicks his tongue,
"But we'll need Voltron, shes the white lion," Keith reminds,
"Can we focus on the bigger picture here?" Pidge snaps, "Theres a baby Y/N or Hunk in here," She grins, hand at your stomach, "Maybe she'll inherit Hunks cooking skills,"
"That would be amazing!" Hunk cheers, your tears visible in his eye's, "Y/N, you have nothing to be afraid of," Hunk places a hand at your cheek, wiping away a tear,
"But what if something happens? I lost my father to the military and my mom struggled to raise me alone," You grasp at his yellow shirt, sniffling into his chest,
"Hunk is going to be there for your baby," Pidge declares, "And thats a promise Im making myself,"

Hey Krissy!! This is for you my dear child!! I know I haven’t been around recently but I hope you feel better! I miss you so much bb and I hope you like this ^-^ your a way better writer than me anyways~
—————————
“Kristina!”
The woman jumped startled from behind her desk quickly clicking away from the hero fan forums and looked over her monitor to her boss that was making his way over to her. She stood up from her desk and straightened out her dress shirt as she smiled at him softly.
“Yes sir? What can I help you with?” The older man grinned excitedly as he slapped a file on her desk. Kristina looked down at it before glancing at her boss as she picked it up. “What’s this sir?”
“It’s a new publishing assignment and I know that you're the only person I can trust for this client.” He grinned confidently grabbing her shoulder as his finger poked at the thick file in her hands. She blushed softly and smiled pushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she shrugged.
“Wow, I mean- Thank you sir, that means a lot. I promise i'll try my best.” He chuckled and gave her a soft shake.
“Well that’s what’s expected of you my dear, especially with this client. Wish you the best of luck Krissy….. You’re gonna need it.” With one final pat on the shoulder the older man made his way back to his own office leaving his employee to read the file. She sighed and sat down setting the file in front of her looking down at the confidential stamp on the front. Never really gotten a file like this before, or this thick. She worked as a political advisor and a client advertiser, You could call it like a manager to those that needed help with their image. She’s worked with politicians mostly but the company was started to broaden its levels of expertise into the Hero business which had honestly been a bit stressful on all of the employees. THis would actually be her first Hero assignment if the Confidential stamp with bold red letters was anything to go off of but hey! It would be an honor to work for anyone that kept the words safe, even the youngest of heroes needed to be appreciated for they were the Heroes of the future.
Taking in a deep breath she flipped the file open, her bright smile slowly fading as she saw the picture of the hero glaring back at her. Her hands immediately became sweaty and her stomach dropped. Explosive blonde hair and those angry ruby eyes, they were unmistakable. She could already feel the heat rushing up her neck to her cheeks changing her face to a bright rosy color.
Ground Zero, Japan’s most misunderstood rising hero.
…
And Krissy’s long time Hero crush.
She swallowed dryly and started paging through the file, her eyes skimming through pages and pages of public complaints and misconduct reports. They even put in articles that didn't exactly help his case. The initial shock slowly started to fade as her business mode started up. She exhaled heavily and opened up a new profile in her computer and started typing away.
She leaned back in her office chair lightly massaging her palm as she looked at the spread out of documents on her desk. She nodded and started to pile it all together putting the file away in her briefcase before standing up stretching her back moaning softly at the loud pops that ran down her back. She sighed and packed up the rest of her things and shut off her computer ready to leave for the day. It was still a bit early but she did come in really early to fix some issue with a client, so to say she was ready to go home was an understatement. Especially with this new case, she looked down at her desk as she smiled shyly, she was going to be working for THE Ground Zero!!
“Kristina!!” She yelped as her gaze snapped up at her boss who was hurrying towards her. So much for leaving early…
“Yes sir?” She smiled as he typed away at his phone.
“Were you on your way out?” He spoke without looking up.
“Y-Yeah I was about to head ho-”
“Well cancel that.” He interrupted not even listening. He handed her a post-it note shaking it slightly for her to take it. “I need you at this address ASAP. It's about your new client.” She glanced at the note then back at the clock.
“But sir my shift is over.” He sighed and looked up at her.
“Yes I know, I wouldn't be sending you there if it wasn't important. Heroes will be our top priority now, so when it comes to them we are always on the clock do you understand.” She sighed and nodded.
“Yes sir..” She mumbled, grabbing her briefcase and coat. He sighed and ran a hand through his thinning hair.
“Listen Krissy. You get this guy up the popularity poll and I will give you a raise. Any number and I will give it to you okay?” He gave her a pat on her shoulder and walked away back to his office. She looked back down at the note and gasped as she looked at the time scheduled. She hurried out of her cubicle and towards the elevador. She was already running late!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Can you tell me what exactly we are doing here?” Bakugou glared at Kirishima as he leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest. “You know I don't like these fancy places.” He mumbled as he huffed. Kirishima could only chuckle and shake his head.
“You do realize you sound like a child right, and dude can you please sit up straight? She's going to be here any minute.” Bakugou looked at him confused.
“She? Who the fuck are you even talking abou-”
“Hello! I'm so sorry for running late I do apologize.” Bakugou and Kirishima were both taken back by the woman who frantically bowed. Kirishima was the first to stand up and laughed softly, extending his hand to her.
“Hey don't worry about it, we weren't waiting too long. I'm Kirishima and you are?” She cleared her throat shyly and shook his hand.
“It's such an honor to meet you, my name is Kristina but everyone calls me Krissy.” She smiled sheepishly as Kirishima gestured for her to sit. She sat down setting her case next to her chair.
“And this guy right here is Bakugou. But i'm sure you know him.” He chuckled as Bakugou glared at him sitting up in his chair, he sighed and turned to look at her. He looked her over watching as she blushed and looked down shyly. He chuckled softly and leaned his elbows on the table.
“So Krissy what are you doing here?” She almost shivered at hearing him say her name like that. She cleared her throat trying to pull herself together.
“I-I well...Im y-your new public affairs adviser, sir.” She managed to say as she twiddled her thumbs under the table.
“New? What the fuck happen with the last one.” He looked over at Kirishima who looked away whistling awkwardly.
“I wouldn't know sir but I promise you that I will do everything I can to make you beloved by everyone. I'm already such a big fan and I can't wait to work with you!” She smiled brightly. Bakugou looked back at her and smirked.
“A fan huh~.” He chuckled and rested his chin in his palm. “Never had a fan work for me before. You sure you wont get distracted?” She blushed at his tone and shook her head.
I assure you sir that work comes first.” Kirishima grinned happily and patted Bakugou on the back.
“Awesome! Alright well I just had to make sure this dude didn't run off. Have fun and don't scare this one off Bakugou.” He got up and bowed before going on his merry way. She sat there watching him leave as she realized it was just both of them left.
“So.” She jumped at his voice and turned back to look at him.
Y-Yes sir.” He smirked at her.
“You sure you aren't going to get distracted? You look like you're about to melt with how red you are.” He chuckled as her face only lit up more. She quickly covered her cheeks embarrassed as he leaned back smiling to himself.
‘Cute’
To say that all of this wasn’t a quick change of pace for Bakugou was a lie, when this girl came into his life she meant business. His numbers went up just by some simple social media pictures that she had posted of him when he wasn’t paying attention. He was obviously upset at first for not asking first but once the public opinion changed he couldn’t really complain anymore. He had never really spent so much time with someone before which was also a welcome change that he had to come to terms with. He noticed when she was and wasn't there, at first it bothered him that she had had an affect on him but slowly but surely he had to face the facts.
He liked her.
Not that it was a bad thing but why?? She was just some quirkless worker so why had she grabbed his attention so much? What about this beautiful woman had him thinking of her almost constantly. He didn’t know…. and he was starting to not care. He sighed as he watched her type away at her laptop as she sat across from his desk. It had been a mellow day and his patrol had ended early due to no crime activity, she must have felt him looking because she glanced up at him and blushed once she met his eyes.
“Oh. Um is everything okay Bakugou?” She smiled softly. He smirked softly, always loving when she got flustered by him just looking at her. Plus he was guilty of using that against her, even to the point of making her wheeze of embarrassment
“What can’t I look at you?” Her blush darkened as she looked away putting a loose strand of hair behind her ear, a habit he was quick to notice when she got shy.
“S-Sorry I thought you needed something..” She mumbled. He chuckled and stood up walking around the desk.
“Actually now that you mention it. I think I do need something.” She gasped when he slapped her laptop shut leaning over her resting his hands on the back rest of her chair. She looked at him wide eyed as the tip of her ears grew red.
“A-And what might that be.” She held back a squeal as he leaned closer towards her face, his eyes never leaving hers.
“I need you to be my date tonight.”
“D-Date?! Me??” He smirked and grabbed her chin rubbing his thumb gently over her bottom lip.
“Well I’m talking to you aren’t I? I want you to be my girlfriend. How’s that sound?” He smiled at her. One of those smiles she rarely saw and knew were genuine. She sighed softly, her trembling hands resting on his chest.
“That sounds lovely.”
