1. the character everyone gets wrong i suffer from a disease called "im the only one with correct opinions about every character ever" so i kind of feel this way about everyone all the time HJKLSDFHJKL.......but maybe its just bc im so Him For Real, but i feel it a lot with blitzo????? i feel like hes the character where i see the most takes about him that i fundamentally disagree with. it doesnt help that his character writing is so shitty tho.

2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom I DO KNOW EXACTLY WHO ITS ABOUT. BLITZO. sjhkdfhjksdf kind of ties into the thing i said above and not EXACLTY what the question is asking but. that man is a SUB. i am being so so serious when i say that everyone who thinks he is/writes him as a dom and/or top doesnt understand him as a character. its partially bc stolitz's writing is so godawful, but like. its not even. subtext??? that this man is a sub/bottom??? its just text. its so obvious that they basically say it. 16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc) ANOTHER REALLY GOOD ONE. stolitz instantly came to mind HJKSDLFHJKL just the whole ship. specifically the arc in the show. also huskerdust? not the ship itself but the characterization. its the same flavor of evil that stolitz is just without the power imbalance. vivzie wants sexual assault in all of her leading ships soooo badddd. i hate the fandom take (loosely based on canon) of husk being ""into it"" the whole time angel was harassing him. makes me fuckin GAG.

19. youre mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like... STOLITZ BEING CHILDHOOD FRIENDS. omg critics usually HATTTTEEEE this shit!!!!!! and i totally see where theyre coming from. ""the circus"" was OBVIOUSLY just meant to humanize stolas/shift the ""blame"" onto blitz instead by making it seem like he initiated it/made stolas think he wanted this (which doesnt make it right but wtever). and the childhood friends (if you can even call them friends) IS so nothing......but im such a sucker for this trope. i actually think its really cute. IDKKKK i think it ties into how i genuinely think that stolitz couldve been good if they had lead with this. since he started off as a villain and had a very rocky transition into being """not a villain""" despite still being horrifically evil, the show is stuck in this weird place of trying to TELL us that stolas is good and worthy of redemption while SHOWING us that hes not. if he was a villain at the start, they shouldve stuck to their guns and kept him that way. if they wanted him and blitz to have a romance, then they shoudlnt have fucking started the show like this. its too late to go back and fix it and the circus is a very clear showing of them trying and failing to do so.....AND YET. i still think its sweet. it makes me yearn for a show where they remeet as adults and start reforming a FRIENDSHIP instead of a weird sex deal. it wouldve actually been cute and compelling to see them observe how the world has hardened and changed the other and finding out that they still love each other despite it. how they both were so deply hurt by the circumstances and yet still managed to grow in a way that left room for the other. You sat on Aaron’s bed curled up with a sick Jack, all the blankets you could find, and coco playing on the tv.

God you missed your boyfriend.

You had been dating Aaron Hotchner for a beautiful 6 months before all hell broke loose.

Emily Prentiss, one of your very best friends and former co workers was killed, your boyfriend was sent to Pakistan and you were just trying to keep yourself together let alone Jack and your BAU family. That was 3 months ago now.

You laid there at stroking jacks hair and thinking of the choices you’ve made in the past year, how proud Emily would be of you and how much you really miss her and Aaron. You pushed the tears about Emily away and focused on how far you’ve come from having a hopeless crush on your boss, to laying in his bed taking care of his son.

You had transferred from the BAU to linguistics about 2 months in to your relationship. You had always wanted to end up there and figured you’d do the fun dangerous job before you settled down. Then you met Aaron and Jack and you knew right away that you were ready to be home more, you were ready to be with Aaron Hotchner with out it being a secret.

Before your relationship began, you worked with the BAU for about a year while slowly falling in love with your boss. You two had become the best of friends. Emily, pen, and jj always told you he wanted more too but you couldn’t let yourself believe it. That is until the day he had an emergency meeting with Strauss and Jessica was called away to help her dad. You automatically offered to watch Jack. You smile as you remember overhearing Hotch tell Dave the problem.

“I know I should have a back up but all my back ups are here Dave, I’ll just ask someone to go get him and bring him here…”

You had ran up to hotch’s office to drop off paperwork when you heard his talking to Rossi.

“I’ll watch him” you volunteered right away.

It took a few minutes of convincing but finally he gave in and you spent a perfect afternoon with Jack until his dad got home around dinner. All three of you sat down to eat the dinner you made. It all felt perfect and meant to be. Turns out Aaron felt the same way.

“Y/N thank you so much” He said as he walked you to your car door that night.

“Always Aaron you know that”

“But thank you for everything. The two of us are so so lucky to have you.” He said as he placed a hand on your hip and you leaned into him a bit.

“I’m lucky to have you both” you said as he leaned closer to you “I’m so glad to have you Aaron.” You whispered before he leaned in and placed the most perfect gentle kiss on your lips. You wrapped your arms around his neck and smiled as you pulled apart and he leaned his forehead on yours.

“Will you let me take you out Y/N.” He asked sweetly and you couldn’t stop your giant smile as you nodded.

Since that perfect night she and Aaron had started the best relationship she ever had been in.

As you laid in bed with Jack you thought of your boyfriend. The man who lost a team mate, a friend and been sent to Pakistan away from his son and girlfriend. You thought about how much you wished he was with you both. Curled up around you and Jack making you both smile and Jack feel better.

A few hours later you and Jack had both dozed off. You woke up to the ringing of your phone. Every time you woke up you automatically would reach for Aaron then realize that he wasn’t here. As you fought the inevitable sadness you answered your phone and heard Derek’s voice on the line.

“Is everything okay?” You asked.

“Yeah, I need you to come in got word from Hotch.”

“Be right there let me call Jess.” You said as you slipped out from under Jack.

About 20 minutes later you were driving to Quantico thinking about the last phone call you had with Aaron. You driven in to fill him in about Jack and talk to him and Derek about Doyle. Of course you hadn’t stopped looking even if the FBI thought you had. You didn’t have much time to just take him in, his voice how he was. God you missed that man.

As you walked in to the conference room where you were told the team was your mouth dropped. There standing the head of the room was Aaron Hotchner. Next to the Emily,, alive and well. You knew he had been hiding something, you also knew sometimes he had to keep secrets from you. You hated it but knew this was for a reason, as much as it sucked… you would get over it. right now all you could do is be happy your best friend was back, and your boyfriend was here. And he was sporting the sexiest beard you had ever seen.

You paused and your keys dropped to the floor as you locked eyes with him.

Quickly Emily ran over to hug you. You were thankful for her support since your legs felt like jello.

“I missed you!” She said into the hug.

“I’m so happy you were fake dead I can’t even made that you guys lied your faces off.” You said as you felt Emily chuckle into the hug and she watched Aaron physically relax. He must have been nervous you would be mad. Jj must have known too because at your words she physically relaxed as well.

“You may be the only one not mad.” Emily breathed.

“Eh they’ll get over it, being you’re alive and all.”

“Yeah well I think you’re boyfriend might need some extra support.”

“Gladly” you said as Emily let go so you could move to him. The rest of the team huddled around her, giving you both space as you collapsed in Aaron’s arms.

He scooped you in and you broke down. He had you so tightly wrapped in his arms and you hadn’t felt so safe in months.

“Y/N I’m so sorry. I I had to.” He whispered against you and you shivered and squeezed him tighter as his voice cracked with emotion. You close your eyes and take in the feeling of his hands, his handsome beard, his strong body.

“I’m not worried about it, I hate that you had to lie to me, and leave, but all I care about is you both being home safe.”

“God I got so lucky�� Aaron whispered.

You knew you would always hate the fact that you had to grieve your best friend and that your boyfriend had to lie to you and be away from you for 3 months. However she couldn’t deny she couldn’t be mad at him or her friends for doing what they had to.

“Me too aaron.” You say as you hold him. “And don’t even get me started on how lucky I am to see you with this this beard!” You said flirtatiously as you stroked his cheek.

He smiled at you and winked. “I’m sure Jack will hate it but I’ll keep it for at least a night.”

You laughed and winked back to him. “ that’s all I ask.” You said and kissed his cheek.

“Now let’s get this bastard finally so Jack and I can have you home!”

“Anything to be back with my favorite people.”

Later that night You were back in Aaron’s bed wrapped around Jack again, except this time you were looking into the incredibly handsome eyes of your boyfriend. Jack had jumped for joy despite his aching throat when his dad walked through the door. As Aaron had guessed he didn’t love the beard but agreed that he could deal with it for a few days when his daddy said you liked it.

You reached across Jack and cupped his cheek smiling as he turned his head to kiss your hand.

“I know this is an awful way to do this, but please stay, officially move in with us. I know you were staying here between leases while I was gone, but I don’t want you to look for a new place. Move in with us?”

You smiled with tears in your eyes

“I was really really hoping you’d say that!”

Jack woke up just a little as Aaron leaned in to kiss you.

“Ooo were kissing Y/N” he whispered as he kissed your cheek.

You giggled and Aaron hugged you both saying “I asked Y/N if she wanted to keep living here with us.”

“Yayyyyyy!” Jack rasped out and hugged her.

“Don’t you wanna know if she said yes?” Aaron laughed to his son.

“You have your giant Y/N smile on ofcourse she said yes!” He said to his dad with a ‘duh’ face

6. WALL-E: MY FAVORITE PIXAR MOVIE EVER. watch robots be cute. they are robots. and they fall in love. what more could you want

7. The Princess Bride: i can quote this movie front and back. cheesiest most ridiculous film ever it’s So Perfect

8. The Parent Trap: two girls discover that they are identical twins, switch places in order to reunite their parents, all while playing pranks on dad’s shitty new gf. sweet, funny, heartwarming, everything you want from a comfort movie!

9. Mary Poppins: ok this ones a little embarrassing. this movie still makes me cry. i PROMISE its still a comfort movie tho! there’s something about this movie that allows you to take the smallest sliver of joy in a dull dreary world and make it into something magical.

10. Ratatouille: wall-e may be my favorite pixar movie, but ratatouille is the most comforting. its my go-to movie for artistic burnout. anyone can cook!

2. Billy Elliot (2000): i literally grew up with this movie. I would watch it all the time with my mom and it's just so good <3

3. Mamma mia (2008): same reason as billy elliot (these two movies raised me). The setting, the songs, the cast, everything is perfect in this movie!

4. Charlie and the chocolate factory (2005): i honestly don't know what to say. It's just so much fun

5. Les Tuche (2011): french movie about a lower working class family winning 1 million € at the lottery and moving to monaco. The humour of this movie is so beauf as we say in french (i'm sorry i don't have any english word that fits) but i love it so much! Perfect for when i need a good laugh

6. Frozen (2013): i don't know what it is about this movie, i've seen it so many times and it just makes me so happy! I remember being like 12 and spending afternoons with my friend filming music vidéos for the songs, i also have another friend with who we sometimes look at each other and quote a scene. Just lots of good memories around this one <3

7. Little miss sunshine (2006): so good so fun so sad so lighthearted so deep so everything

8. The great Gatsby (2013): i'm in love with the aesthetics of this movie, it's so pretty to watch! I also love the (very random) soundtrack

9. Finding Nemo (2003): the first movie i was obssesed with! I would watch it all the time when i really young (like 2 or 3 years old)

The Kinder Thing by stele3. Literally a fic that I have not stopped thinking about since I read it. A masterpiece. I don't know how it doesn't have more attention. The ending will have you sobbing like a baby. Time travel, happy ending, Mature.

The Right Partner by @leehanji. 2 chapters (hella long), complete, Explicit. Literally and Mr. and Mrs. Smith story but Stucky. So fucking good.

if you're looking for jesus (then get on your knees) by @voxofthevoid. 1 chapter of a 3-part series, complete, Explicit. S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Barnes meets one Silver Fox Commander Rogers. "Meets" as in is kidnapped by. But it's all in good fun. Anything by Vox is delicious and immaculate but this story and series might be my favorite. The slowburn is so goddamn good and smut is top tier. Excellent story as well.

one stop by yasgorl. Evanstan. 1 chapter, complete, Explicit. This is dark, but it is delicious. Definitely pay attention to writers "Abuse of Authority" tag.

Bang My Boyfriend by OhCaptainMyCaptain. A classic. 1 chapter, Explicit, Supersoldiers. Bucky lets everyone in the Tower fuck Steve to fulfill a fantasy of Steve's. Each experience with each character is so well thought out and so in character for each person. Literally an out-of-body experience.

Sugar Daddy by orphan_account. Evanstan. 17 chapters, complete, Explicit. One of the first fics I read as I found my way into the fandom through fic first. One that resides in my soul. Slow burn and delicious and Daddy.

The Fool in the Mirror by thepinupchemist. A/B/O, Alpha Steve and Omega Bucky, Shrunkyclunks. Heed the tags on this one. 22 chapters, complete, Mature. I always have this comfort fic at the ready for when I need to be taken away from everything.

Last but not least, my favorite series, Meet-Cute AUs by 74days. 50 parts, all 1 chapter, complete. Just 50 ways that Steve and Bucky continue to meet each other and fall in love. Comfort.

Once the two had settled into a grove Dab and Hawks got along well, they kind of had to considering they were living in the same one bedroom apartment. Hawks didn’t know this before but the league, or more specifically Dabi owned a club, the two of them would often go out whenever they could get Toga to leave them be. Some nights Hawks and Dabi were more than friends, to put it bluntly they fucked. If they weren't at the club or in their little shared apartment they would usually be out exploring, Hawks didn’t like killing in the night he felt it unfair. Some nights though the two would just stay up talking, and others Hawks would fly them up to the roof they first met on and they would just sit there. The two had become domestic in a sort of feral way, they dyed their hair on the same days, and even divided the house chores, Dabi was even teaching Hawks how to cook. But all good things come to an end. One night when they were out at the club Dabi left to go use the bathroom and just like that Hawks was taken.

It had been months, Dabi put all his anger into his plots to kill his father and running his club, Dabi had just figured Hawks had had enough of him and decided to leave, but that was the farthest from the truth he could get. 

“I won’t say jack shit about them and you know that, you’ve been at this for months!” Hawks yelled at the hero that had been sent in for him today, he assumed he was in a basement. 

“Well you know what time it is then.” Someone said, it sounded like Endeavour and honestly Hawks wouldn't be surprised if it was him, it wasn’t above Enji to hold someone in his basement and torture them. 

“Yayyyyyy, time for my water!” Hawks said, he had gone insane even more so than he had been before this was how he was coping. After having been waterboarded and not spilling about the L.o.V for the day the hero who he still assumed to be Endeavour left, but a few hours later he heard a voice. 

“The hell is going on here?” The youngest Toderoki whispered barely loud enough for Hawks to hear. 

“Oh another one!” Hawks said almost with giddy excitement. 

“Oh my God, Hawks!” Shoto whispered again, almost like he was afraid to raise his voice. As Todoroki rushed over to undo the restraints holding Hawks to the chair he had been in on and off for months he noticed the water from earlier all over the ground. 

“Thanks for that buddy, but I think this is my queue to head on out.” Hawks said hacking up a lung, all that water hadn’t done him well and now that he was standing up and moving he could really feel it. 

“Yeah, no that’s not happening. You can’t fly like that.” Haks knew the youngest Todoroki was right, but that didn’t mean he liked it. 

“How long have you even been here?” Shoto asked the winged hero who had been missing from the hero world for around a year at this point. 

“Fuck, that’s a great question. Ummm my rough estimate is around 4 months.” Hawks responded, Shoto could only wonder what Hawks had been doing when he disappeared from the hero world but that didn’t matter. No one should be treated like this. 

“God I’m hungry, y’all got any food?” The fuck is wrong with this guy Shoto wondered. 

“You can’t just stay here, he’ll know.” Hawks knew the boy was right but he felt like shit. 

“Where do I go then?” Hawks asked the half copy of his old friend. 

“Well dear old dad has some apartments around the city, you could stay in one of those.” Shoto suggested to Hawks with an alarmingly calm tone, almost as if he’d done this before. Once Shoto had somehow gotten Hawks out of the house and to the apartment, Hawks hacking up water the whole time, after getting Hawks to the well stocked bathroom Shoto decided to go make a meal, his father always had nice food in the extra homes he owned. While Shoto did that unbeknownst to him Hawks was reverting back to old habits, popping all the pain killers he knew wouldn't kill him plus a few, water to the lungs hurt like hell and Hawks was tired he wanted sleep. So that’s what he did, he went to go lay down in a bed unlike his last apartment where he had shared the only bed with Dabi, there were at least 4 beds in this apartment and no one to lay with. He missed his patch work friend, he missed the warmth of laying next to someone. In the morning Hawks was kinda bummed he woke up at all (mood), after he had accepted he was still alive he decided to sit up. Boy was that a huge mistake, it was the first time in months he had really layed down and his body was not having it. 

“How sad, Alexa, play Despacito.” He said laying back down, getting up just wasn’t in the cards for the day. Alas at some point late in the day he did get up, almost puking on the ground in the process barely making it to the toilet. He really hoped his old friend had tortured him correctly and he didn’t have any brain damage, cause that would be pretty shitty. As the week passed Shoto came to check on him whenever he could sneak out of the UA dorms, Hawks is lucky Shoto decided to visit his childhood home when he did because without him he’d probably be much worse off right now. After a few months Hawks decided it was time for him to go, though he still felt like shit, he needed to see Dabi. It only took an hour to get to the club Dabi owned from where Hawks had been staying, he ended up leaving a note because he knew Shoto would rightfully so try to stop him. 

Once Hawks got to the club it was around 10 pm and starting to fill up as it always did. After having been there for a bit he felt a needle go into his neck. 

“Dabi says to meet him on the roof bird boy.” Hawks knew that voice anywhere, it was Toga. 

“What the fuck Toga, what did you just put in me?” Toga was slightly annoyed, he disappeared over 5 months ago and now he comes back. 

“It’s poison, boss man’s orders. Sorry birdy, though I would hurry up getting to the roof you'll probably black out soon.” Boss man? Hawks had so many questions to ask but he had to hurry up before the poison took effect. Exiting the club and flying up to the roof didn’t take long at all, once he had landed on the roof he found Dabi sitting there cigarette in hand. 

“So poison, really. And why did Toga call you boss man?” Dabi was utterly pissed. 

“You're not allowed to ask questions, You left!” Dabi said, his eyes widening in anger like they usually do whenever he’s about to kill someone who puts up to much of a fight. 

“So where'd you go.” Dabi said not really asking but demanding, he needed to know what happened he felt like he’d suffocate if he didn’t. 

“Well glad to see you as well. To answer the ‘where did you go’ question. I might've gotten kidnapped and tortured for a while. The little Todoroki kid found me and housed me for like 2 months, and now I’m here. Is that enough information for me to be given an antidote now.” Hawks said rather calmly, truth be told he expected much worse from Dabi, poison was just the tip of the iceberg and he knew that. Dabi decided to indulge in his curiosity, walking over to Hawks and sticking him in the neck with the antidote. 

“So, boss man. Now that we’re not about to kill me can we have a conversation?” 

Hawks wasn't mad about being poisoned but he wasn't entirely happy, he did know where they were coming from and why though, they thought he ran back to his old hero life.

Summary: These powers had come not too long before Mr. Stark had found you and taken you in as a new part of the team. However, you didn’t know much at all and had nobody to confide in besides Wanda. You felt alone and like nobody understood you. Until you heard his screams in the middle of the night. You had the urge to help your new neighbor; but did he want your help?

“And who is he?” 

BUZZ. BUZZ. BUZZ.

Ugh.

It was 7:00 am sharp on a Monday morning, with your first full day ahead of you at the Avengers complex. It had been two weeks since you got your powers and your entire life had turned right around. You didn’t know your own body anymore, you felt like a child. Trying to figure out your limits every day. Nothing felt the same, almost like you were watching it happen to someone else from afar.

You never asked for it. But nonetheless, here you were in your new room. Far from your old home.

Someone knocked on your door, and Wanda popped her head in.

Wanda was the first person to talk to you when you arrived, and you felt secure around her. She was the room across from you and pretty much the only one in the whole complex you had even spoken with yet besides Mr. Stark and Mr. Rogers. She was a bit younger than you, so it felt like you had the little sister you always wanted.

“Oh good, you’re awake,” Wanda says, opening the door a bit more.  “Would you like some breakfast? Vision can make you anything you’d like.”

She was already dressed, her hair pulled back in a ponytail, although she had bags under her eyes. Must’ve been up late. She had a grey tank top on and some black leggings, and just some ankle socks with a light sweater over top.

You sat up, rubbed your eyes and threw your legs out from under the bed. You could feel your hair sticking up and you had lines all over your arms from your shirt. Man, it felt like you’d slept for a month.

“Yes please, I am starving,” you replied, feeling your stomach rumble when you sat up.

“Well come on Y/L/N!” She slid down the hallway down past some other doors and was quickly out of sight.

You got out of bed and trudged out the door, still half asleep when you heard a grunt coming from the next door down. You stopped, curious as to who your next door neighbor was.

You weren’t terribly familiar with any of the other Avengers, but you recognized some. Vision was pretty hard to miss, you knew Mr. Stark and Mr. Rogers obviously and Wanda, but others tended to blur together.

The grunting continued and became more aggressive. You weren’t affected by that as your curiosity won over. You quietly stepped near the cracked door and looked in with your stomach against the door.

The room was fairly empty, except some clothes on the floor, an alarm clock identical to yours and a man in a bed. He had his hair up in a bun and a white tank top on, the rest of his body covered by a single blanket. He looked sweaty and his bed was a mess.

Must be an active sleeper, you thought to yourself.

You continue to watch, growing a bit worrisome at his sudden movements, and he turned toward you quickly. The look of discomfort on his face was frightening and he snapped his eyes awake, directly on you. Your eyes widen and for a split second, everything froze. You then moved at the same time; he jumped out of bed and you darted back in your room. You hid behind your door, and he walked out into the hallway. He looked around, not seeing you or anybody else. He sighed, took his hair down to let it fall on his neck. He scratched his stomach and walked back into his room.

You were unaware of you holding your breath until he shut his door. The stunning image of his eyes and that look on his face had already been engraved in your memory for good. You shook your head, determined not to think about him anymore and slid out to head to the dining room.

 “Where’d you go Y/N?” Wanda asked, realizing she kinda left you behind.

“Oh, just still waking up. And this place is huge, so it takes me a minute to find things,” you said, awkwardly laughing. “Hi Vision, are you cooking anything yummy up?”

Vision looked up, wearing his “Robots Can Cook Too” apron and smiled at you. “Of course Y/N, anything, in particular, you would like on this Monday morning?”

“Maybe some eggs and toast? With a bit of butter,” you replied, already smelling the omelet he was making for Wanda.

“Sounds fantastic.” He went back to work, and you and Wanda made small talk until more people started arriving dressed and ready to start the day.

 One by one, everybody was eventually in the living room and had eaten breakfast until two people were left to come out. Mr. Rogers was one of them but you weren’t sure who the other was. Then you realized you were the only person not dressed and slipped out of the room to go put on some clothes and look a bit more presentable.

 When you got to your room, you heard voices in the next room down and curiosity won again. You tiptoed down to the room and listened carefully to the two voices talking on the other side; Mr. Rogers and somebody you didn’t know yet.

“We need somebody to talk to you about this, it’s been consistently happening for nights now Buck.” Buck? Who is Buck??

“Steve, it’s been happening for years. They’re just a bit more violent now, nothing I can’t handle.” This man’s voice was husky and deep, coming from the next door neighbor you assumed.

You peeked through the back of the door’s crack and saw Mr. Rogers, standing with his arms crossed looking at this all too new and now familiar face. You had yet to dress yet, still in your oversized ACDC shirt and Nike shorts underneath with black ankle socks on.

 Both of the men were at least 5 inches taller than you, Mr. Rogers seeming an inch or two taller than this other man. You could only see the left side of his body (your left) and then he moved slightly and you saw it. You must’ve been so distracted by his face the first time that you hadn’t even noticed that he was missing an arm, replaced by a metal one with a shining red star on the shoulder. His facial hair had been growing, but nothing more than stubble. His hair was parted all which ways, and he was still in his white tank top and black sweatpants with no socks. His eyes were probably the most distracting thing about him though.

They were a soft baby blue, with medium length eyelashes but something was different about them. Not only were they beautiful, but they seemed so exhausted. Like he’d been through hell and back twice but still had the energy to get out of bed. They were experienced. Knowing. You wondered what those eyes had seen and why they were so tired. He drew you in just by you looking at him.

Then he looked at you. Mr. Rogers noticed what he was looking at, so he turned around and walked toward you, knowing you’d been caught. He walked toward you, with the guilt rising in your chest for eavesdropping.

“Hey Y/N.” said Steve, as he shut the door. “What all did you hear while listening in?” He looked at you with his hands on his hips, waiting to hear what you had to say.

“Not much at all, I was just coming to change.” You replied, attempting to play it off.

He looked at you suspiciously but decided to drop it. “Well, alright. Go ahead and get dress, we’ll be starting soon.”

He walked away, already ready as well in his elbow length navy shirt and grey cargo pants with navy blue shoes. You sighed of relief and headed to your room to get ready for your first day, and what a day it had already been by 7:45 am.

 Everyone was dressed and ready in the living room on couches and chairs, even your mysterious neighbor who had his hair down and clean, a long sleeve black shirt on and grey joggers with black tennis shoes. You were dressed as well, in a white short sleeve shirt and some teal leggings with light grey shoes and your hair up in a ponytail.

Mr. Stark was going over the training we’d be doing as a team today, although much of the attention was on me and getting my powers ready for battle. Everybody seemed to have a different task for me and I would practice a bit with everyone. Even Peter, the youngest of the bunch. Even though he’s young, he still has a lot more experience than you, you thought.

 You looked around the room at everyone and zoned out, getting an idea of who was who while Mr. Stark introduced you to the group. There was a tall man standing next to Mr. Rogers who seemed to be good friends with him, Peter Parker who you knew from Mr. Stark telling you, Vision and Wanda, an older man who has braces around his legs and seemed to be in constant slight pain during the whole meeting, your neighbor, a woman with short blonde hair and a a serious stare, a man who seemed to be in his 40s with short black curly hair sitting next to the woman, and finally a man standing behind the couch, with a vest on and a sling of arrows on his back.

 Mr. Stark quickly listed names off to you as everyone waved or said hello, but when he got to your neighbor, you came back to the conversation and heard that his name was Bucky. Mr. Stark’s voice changed a bit when he had said his name, like something between the two of them, had happened in the past and it had not gone well.

“And that’s everyone! So, in about 10 minutes we’ll meet outside near the hangar and get ready for today’s training, starting with Little Miss Shapeshifter over here.”

You froze, immediately growing cold and uncomfortable. You were not exactly comfortable, to say the least with your powers yet, much less ready to reveal them to the whole group on your first day; but it seems like Mr. Stark had taken care of that for you already. Everyone’s eyes were on you, as you squeaked out a small hello and everyone left, you still as tense as a wooden board.

Mr. Stark saw your discomfort and sent everybody on their way, but stayed to chat with you.

You caught some stares and glances when everyone left but one specifically caught your eye. Bucky. He was staring at you, with a bit of confusion but mostly curiosity. You both seemed to be thinking the same thing, without either of you knowing it.

Who the hell are you?

But the real question was, did he want to know more about you?

Mr. Stark snapped you back to reality and Bucky was walking back to the hallway and soon out of sight when Mr. Stark began to speak. “Hey, I’m sorry about that. Things just slip out of my mouth without thinking but everybody would find out sooner or later today okay? My bad, Y/N.”

Mr. Stark rubbed your shoulder and walked off with Wanda coming to loosen you up, as she could see you were still tense.

“Hey, you okay?” Wanda said, wanting to make sure you were alright.

You dropped your shoulders and sighed, “Yeah I guess so. I don’t know, I guess I wanted to tell everyone myself about this weird thing that has happened to me. I’m still really uncomfortable in my own skin for now, but hopefully, all of you will help.”

Wanda gave you a small smile and a side hug when you thought you could maybe ask her something.

“Hey, Wanda?”

She looked at you and said, “What’s up?”

“Who is Bucky?”

It feels the exact same way about two months later, — sending a current of pleasant electricity thrumming through him, until his fingertips tingle and his heart soars— when Hunk proposes in the very pasture they'd met in. Keith, if it isn't obvious by the way he smooches Hunk silly, says yes.

They didn’t say anymore words, but the love (not to mention, the unadulterated mitigation of their combined grief) still nestled its way to his heart. There would never be enough time to describe how happy he was to see them again. And he knew that (and maybe he always knew) despite everything, here in his mama’s arms with his brothers and the familiar smell of grass and ocean, would always be his home.

General questions:

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?

I wrote a bunch less than last year, but this year was OOF so I didn’t do as much (93k vs last years 200+k ;w;)

although this IS disregarding my spice fics where i wrote almost 38k so,,, i didn’t do TOO terribly :D

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year? spice: hunk/sendak......

but other than that, i’ve really stuck to heith/shunk! What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.

Familiar Faces is by far my favorite of the year.  It was fun, it was kooky, it was funny, it was dramatic.  Structurally it was among the most challenging (Two chapters happen simultaneously and that had to be plotted out well).  Also, it was just super fun to work with Velkyn!

Okay, NOW your most popular story.

By kudos, Coming Through the Noise.  Which is cool!  I’d never seen a Gen truth serum fic before, and it was extra fun for a very reserved character like Shiro. Story most underappreciated by the universe? Unrelenting, probably.  It’s all about the nature of being a Hufflepuff from Hunk’s POV, so I get why it doesn’t get a big audience.  But I love it.  Puffs need more love :( Story that could have been better? I like Shackles on my Wings, but it probably could have done with an extra polish (most things I write could tbh) Sexiest story?

Saddest story? god.... Silence is Golden for sure,,,,, (tw for torture/whump/i guess mild gore???)

Most fun? Pas de Deux, adagio,,,,,, i love myself some fairy tale (*cough* barbie* cough) crossovers.

Story with single sweetest moment?

"I'll be fine." Keith says as he pulls away. "Tonight isn't about this. Let's... let's dance. I've never danced before."

"Really?" Then, realizing that no, Keith probably would have never gotten the opportunity, Hunk stands and offers his elbow to him. "Well, I'm obligated to show you the best time of your life now."

They don't head towards the ballroom. Instead, they skirt around the edges of the castle until they find a window, left ajar just enough so that they can hear the music loud and clear.

Hunk offers his hand, and Keith lets his drop in his large palm. He's gathered up, then, with one arm around his waist, and it takes a bit of ushering from Hunk for him to catch the rhythm. Keith stumbles over his own feet more than once, caught between looking down at the motions and up at Hunk's face.

In the end, Hunk lifts him just a few inches up and lets him rest on the tip of his boots so that he can dance them around without having to worry about stepping on Keith's toes. He isn't wearing shoes, after all.

They dance until the song changes twice, and Keith finds himself pressing an ear against Hunk's heart, basking in the steady beat for as long as he's allowed. Every so often, Hunk will hum to the tune and the vibrations will course straight through Keith's body, like light through a rainbow prism.

Keith was right when he'd assumed that his dress would be fun to twirl in. The fabric is kind against his skin as it flips this way and that, but Hunk’s touch against his back is even kinder.

Hardest story to write?

All We Need, because i was at a r e a l l y bad place when i tried to tame that beast, but i’m so proud of how it turned out, and also i’d probably do anything for peach c’:

left in the dust flowed out of me like water out of a spout,,,, it was Magical

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

mmmm i don’t think so? All We Need made me more conscientious of canon characterization, but by like maybe 10% asljhadl

dude..... All We Need, again. peachie was so patient and kind while it took me like 80 years ;w; 

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

i tried to be more Flowy n Metaphorical in my writing because i love that shit, and i think it’s going pretty well. i lost my touch somewhere around the end of summer for a bit, bc again i was having some Fucky moments, but overall i think i’m doing alright!!!! 

What are your fic writing goals for next year?

i have a couple long fic ideas i want to do!!! which i totally don’t mind talking about if anyone happens to be a little curious. one is an arriety au (bc i’ve never read the borrowers) and the other is that one old west au i literally never shut up about. 

there’s another one i’m iffy about where it’s basically shunk in Therapy together yayyyyyy, but we’ll see if that one stays dead

but overall: my biggest goal is to write more longfics for rarepairs!!! also more things w/ women bc i’ve really been slacking on that end. 

also maybe something for she-ra? i wrote down a couple ideas the other day that i’d love to explore
