for the record, I was at the Shut It Down 4 Palestine protest in DC on November 17th. fascist media was spinning the story as the protest happened, and while I know for people out of DC this isn’t very relevant, but I believe correcting this misinformation is vitally important.

one thing that the media and Zionists keeps claiming is that the protest shut down Union Station and the red line. but it didn’t. the pigs shut down Union Station, and the red line never stopped running.

the MPD would not allow anyone in the station—no one trying to get home, and they kicked out the unhoused people who rely on Union Station for shelter as the temperature dropped.

protesters did not block the station entrance. police barricades did. they shut it down for us, and they shut it down in the most unnecessary way.

they shut it down to deny protestors and unhoused people shelter in hypothermia season. they were not trying to keep the trains running, or they’d have kept them fucking running.

also, the red line never shut down. someone claimed it was on Twitter ten minutes before I boarded the red line. it just skipped Union Station.

this isn’t the most egregious spin or cop activity from the protest. I’ll be posting about more of it.
