their right eye is also the reason zallen doesnt have visable horns. they naturally grow forward and curl in, strait into babies eyes. after it fucked with the right one as a kid their lusus just decided to take them off cus jfc thats painful

A stroll in the outside world, at night, so nobody would find it suspicious, not too many years ago.

It’s not everyday that you can go out like this, but pressuring Patchouli enough so she could let you to go out was something you could allow yourself...and Yukari seemed to not mind, or at least, not that much.

It was disappointing, though, you simply wanted to do this to see if the world changed since you started living around Gensokyo...but it seems that humans keep thinking the same things as when you left, and that simply makes you to go back to Gensokyo.

“What a bother...” You said yourself while making your way to return to the place where Patchouli was going to take you back.

You’ve been feeling like if someone was following you for some time now, though...so maybe there was still something (or someone) enough interesting to play around with.

Twelve sweeps, now. Or twenty-six years, he recalls. Twenty-six times he’s stood there, and he’ll probably be back there, year after year as well, until another twenty-six have come and gone, or until he’s no longer here.

Blaike stands alone in an empty room, kept immaculately spotless as it was those twenty-six years ago. He’s not sure how he’s managed to return here, every year, every time, for the same simple little ritual, but he does it unfailingly, every single year.

He places a cupcake on a dresser near the window, a single candle sticking out the top. Beside it, a picture frame, showing him grinning widely, along with Vina clinging to his side with a smile just as wide, and twice as radiant in his opinion. The icing on the cupcake matches the bright, eccentric teal of his eyes. Her favorite color.

His smile now is sad, and reflects the twenty-six years he’s lived since she passed on. Years full of grief, and loneliness. He refused to take on another matesprit. She meant far too much to him.

“Hey, darling. I’m back here again. It’s… been a hard year. I’m slowly learning to get by without you, but… It’s been so long, and it still hurts.”

He lights the candle now, and the gentle, flickering firelight dances, reflecting off the glass of the picture frame. His solemn smile fades away, and he takes a deep breath, preparing himself mentally as he recalls the words he’s said twenty-six times before.

“Happy birthday to you.. happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, my darling Vina…” He pauses, tears welling up. He wipes them away, and goes to take another deep breath, but it turns into a sob. He takes the picture from atop the dresser and sits down on the floor next to it, his back to the wall.

“Happy birthday, my love. I miss you so much.”
