Cortex - Troupeau Bleu

The sample from the late MF Doom's (RIP) "One Beer" features an immediately recognizable and almost ubiquitous sample that comes from this album. A French jazz-funk record that oozes with soul and groove, the album has become a sort of honeypot for hip-hop producers and rappers, with artists like Tyler, The Creator, Lil Yachty, and the aforementioned MF Doom using tracks from this album to flip into making something new and refreshing as this album was. Mireille Dalbray's lilting voice moves from terse verses in the first half of the album, to soulful scatting in the second half, and the synergy between the band members is impeccable, moving together like one, to create smooth and funky compositions.

Holy moly does this novelization fragment confirm Alita wasn't in the Scrapyard for those whole 300 years?

So, one of the big mysteries around Alita is how she got in the Scrapyard and how long she was there before Ido found her. Maybe Alita lied inactive there since The Fall, for 300 years.

But the official novelization seems to hint at something different:

Nova heard her.

Chrome optics weren't his only enhancements, and there had been many upgrades since the young battle prodigy had first spotted him watching her spar with her sensei Gelda in the zero-g sphere.

That hadn't been the first time he had watched her, nor the last. He had kept track of her over the years—the centuries—and when she had finally fallen, he'd thought she had met her end.

(let's ignore Nova saw her spar with Gelda, this is a topic for another post)

The last sentence is constructed in such a way as if centuries passed before Alita ended up in Scrapyard.

While the war was long, for sure it didn't last for centuries. This indicates Nova had an eye for Alita after The Fall, until something happend, and then she fell.

But what would happen between The Fall and Ido discovering Alita? And would that make sense?

Idea #1

Alita could survive the Fall and remain active for centuries, maybe even still taking actions against Zalem after the Fall and eventually she clashed with Nova/got caught.

However, according to Ido, Alita's brain was biologically between 14-18, a teenager's brain. Even 25 years old brain is different than 18. It shouldn't remain a teenager brain if she was active for longer. It makes more sense that she went into statis when she was 18. Until URM bodies didn't allow the brains to mature frontal cortex so the soldiers would be more willing to do extreme stuff 🫠 overthinking much

Idea#2

Nova caught Alita when URM lost during The Fall and experimented on her for centuries, then threw her to the trash.

But it doesn't make sense how Nova wants her anti-matter heart, if she was in his hands before. Unless he only uses this as an excuse to tell his subordinates when in fact he is hunting her purely for fun.

OR, Alita wasn't discarded by Nova, she fell while trying to escape from his lab

Idea#3

Nothing happened. She was in the Scrapyard and Nova was aware of it, keeping an eye on her, and centuries passed like that.

Buut that's not how the sentence sounds like

If we ran an episodic, easy to join and easy to leave, voice chat TTRPG over on our Discord server which game would you be most likely to join?

Star Trek: Mercury - set in the Kelvin timeline, aboard a Nova Class starship captained by the Vanderkemps, a plural system that used to be the ship's counselors, probably doing the adventures the Enterprise did in ToS but isn't doing now because they timeline is different. Played using a system based on Cortex Prime.

Sunspot Chronicles - set in a gigantic generational starship populated entirely by randomly genetically engineered people who resemble chimerical furries, where gender is not assigned at birth and doesn't even have a word, and everyone gets to pick their own name. Also played using a system based on Cortex Prime, but different and simpler.

Adventures of Molly Rocketcoil - a spinoff of the Sunspot Chronicles but taking place on a starship crewed by galactic superheroes, and you'd most likely be their newest family members (with galactic superpowers). Queer found family exploring the cosmos, and you could be nearly any sort of alien you can think of or invent, but not human. PROBABLY run using Sentinel Comics RPG.

These games would use the books we've written as loose canon, but could be considered alternate universe versions, to allow full creativity from the players.

"Nós chegamos na parte da MASS Tour PHASE 03 "LAST MILE" onde o único show que falta é o Toyosu.

Nessa turnê, eu usei o meu recém adquirido Neural DSP "QUAD CORTEX", que comprei pouco antes dessa turnê.

Eu o levei comigo para introdução como uma nova adição ao meu sistema atual e brinquei com ele durante a turnê, porque o Neural Capture ocupa pouco espaço e não dá pra falar nada contra ele, por isso eu tive que implementá-lo.

Eu planejei isso com sentimentos leves, colocando todos os meus equipamentos enormes nele e usando o sub no lugar dos aplicativos.

Além disso, quando tentei gravar um simples OD, a qualidade ficou perfeita, mas os erros pequenos se tornaram incrivelmente irritantes, por isso eu acabei tendo que escolher em meio a vários padrões para gravar uma pequena parte.

Quando eu configurei a gravação para ser feita pelo Inst, não tive dúvidas de que seria uma substituição fantástica dos gabinetes para captação.

Essa captação funciona bem e o processo é inesperadamente divertido e eu tenho a impressão de que irei criar novos aspectos de criação de som diferente dos comuns que eu já conheço de agora em diante (mas eu já estou bem atrasado...).

Dear God,

Thankful and blessed today. All is well after my 26 hours duty. I was able to sleep a little. I ate hopia mongo. I arrived home safely. I drank yakult and ate 1 banana. I had my self care routine. I drank my vitamins and medicines. I slept and woke up at 5PM plus with the help of my alarms. I prepared myself for 4 hours duty. I ate nova. I arrived at Saif’s house safely. I cared and monitored my patient with the help of Ate Carme and with you Oh God. I played cooking fever. I scrolled my social media accounts, chatted my family and friends. I have menstruation. Ate Carme shared a food and I ate bread with cheese. I did cortex. We had little conversations. 4 hours duty ended and I arrived home safely. I had my self and skin care routine. I read few pages of the Bible. I watched Inside out 2 and while watching, I ate Lapids’s chicharon laman and drank Cali pineapple flavor. I will continue to watch Inside out 2. I will drink my medicines. I will watch random videos. Have mercy on us Oh God. Guide us always to the right path. Remove sickness, danger and negative things in our life.
