xiao normally woke up quite early.

six am, to be exact. why? well, you usually got up at eight, and getting up early gave him a lot of time to get ready and stretch for the day. his room was right next to yours, and he was a very light sleeper. it was perfect because if any commotion happened in your room in the middle of the night, he'd be the first to know.

his morning stretches usually consisted of simple stuff. leaning down to touch his feet, stretching his arms, lifting his leg up and seeing how long he could hold it for, splits where he rested his head on his knees.

yeah, 'simple stuff.'

once he was done, he took his knights uniform out of his closet, slipping it on and checking every inch of fabric to make sure it was up to standards. collar? check. intricate armor? check. the only thing that was missing was...

his trusty spear.

the primordial jade winged spear... the weapon had been gifted to xiao when he was hired by your family. apparently it was sent over along with him from the prince of the nearby liyue kingdom where he originally lived. it was sitting next to his bed, easy to spot in case of emergencies.

he grabbed the spear, taking a good look at it before finally walking out of the room to stand in front of your door. this wasn't his favorite part of the day, as it was just him sitting in front of your door until you eventually woke up and came to bother him, but he didn't really mind the silence. the next hour and a half went by quicker than he expected.

xiao usually spent the time thinking, occasionally greeting the various maids, butlers, and cleaners that went past him. he also greeted a worker who personally tended to you, which was a sign that he needed to start preparing himself.

and like he expected- around 30 minutes later, you came walking out, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. you were dressed in a more thin and form fitting outfit, as you were preparing for your daily training with him. "good morning, xiao!"

xiao bowed at you, right hand over his heart and left arm behind his back, just like he was taught. "good morning, your highness. i assume you're ready for training?" he followed you as you started to walk down the hallway, jade weapon in hand.

"of course!" you laughed, turning around and giving him a wide smile. your smile had been the same ever since the two met as almost teenagers, and it was honestly his favorite thing about you. "i'll definitely beat you today, just you wait!" the two of you walked by many rooms on your way to the courtyard, and you passed the time by chatting to him and waving to every person you saw.

eventually, you made it to the training grounds, and xiao waited for you as you chose your weapon. he had put down his spear when the two of you had gotten there, trading the weapon for a dull spear that had no chance of hurting you. you had decided to go with a sword, but xiao was sure that you'd choose something else the next day.

after choosing your weapon, you took up an offensive stance, feet a little close for xiao’s liking, but he wouldn’t tell you that now. you would figure out your mistake later. your voice rang through the training yard, echoing thanks to the walls that surrounded you.

“get ready to get beaten!” you said, a confident smile on your face. xiao rolled his eyes, greatly amused by your little talk. he pulled off the shirt of his knights uniform, setting it to the side and leaving him in a form fitting, sleeveless top that showed off his arms and back.

picking up the dull spear, he got into a more defensive stance, moving his spear in front of his body so it would act as sort of a shield. “i doubt that you’ll beat me. now, enough talk- let’s get started.”

you immediately raced forward, swinging your sword in a direction that wasn’t protected by xiao’s spear. with his inhumanly fast reflexes, xiao blocked your swing, and you quickly found yourself on the defensive instead.

you tried to get back on the offensive, but the swings from xiao’s spear kept you from really doing anything. suddenly, xiao swept a foot under your legs, tripping you and causing you to fall backwards. you tried to get back up. but you were met with the dull tip of his spear being pushed against your neck.

“i win.” he spoke, and you could sense a bit of amusement in his voice. letting out a cry of exhaustion, you rested your head against the ground, pouting. “that wasn’t fair!”

the skilled knight let out a soft sigh, removing his weapon from your neck. he held back a small smile at the sight of your pout, instead holding a hand out for you to take. you gave him a glare (it wasn’t very scary) before taking hold of his and pulling yourself up.

“first off, your biggest mistake,” xiao walked over to his previous spot, turning his head to make sure you were listening to him. “when it came to both your defense and offense, you were too stiff.”

he got in a random pose, and it quickly occurred to you that it was probably the stance you were in as you were training. it looked weird on him, especially when you compared it to his usual elegant yet sophisticated moves.

“your legs were too far apart, which was why i was able to trip you like that.” crossing his arms, xiao continued to speak. “and while you did try to get past my defense, you were just a tad bit too slow.”

you let out a long groan, patting the dirt off your clothes. training wasn’t really your favorite thing to do, and while it was fun at times, it was tiring when you constantly had to perfect every last bit of your stance for multiple weapons.

“‘just a bit slow…’ alright, i’ve got it.” you picked up your sword, brushing the dirt off the hilt of the sword. “now that i’ve heard all of this, i’m sure i’ll be able to beat you this time.”

you got into position, and followed xiao’s advice. legs not too far apart, making sure you weren’t too stiff. there’s no way you would be beaten now, you looked perfect.

“alright, your highness,” xiao got in position as well, his eyes scanning your body. after a second or two, he looked back at your face, seemingly pleased by how you had taken note of his advice. “give it your best shot.”

you are (y/n): a royal living in the kingdom of aetas*, and the time has finally come for you to choose who to marry. as a way of looking for a future spouse, you begin searching all across the land of teyvat. your parents weren't very picky with who you chose, so it shouldn't have been that hard. but really-

who knew that there were so many men willing to marry you?

Xiao your personal knight. he was appointed to you when you were both young, so you practically grew up together. he was adept at many things: fighting, teaching you how to defend yourself, reading your practiced facial expressions, and of course, protecting you.

ever the stoic person, xiao is the type to stand by you and stay quiet unless you ask him something. he much rather preferred to- as you liked to say, "stand there and look pretty." he always looked at you weird when you said that. after all, he believed that he was just doing his job.

he often found himself shooing away strange people who tried to make moves on you. he claimed time and time again that he was only doing it to keep you safe- and while that may be true, you've begun to think that he's doing it more out of jealousy than his concern for your safety. or maybe he's right and you're just overreacting.

Zhongli the king of the liyue kingdom, and quite a lovely man! you met him a few times in the past in places like royal balls, finding that he was naturally a gentleman. unlike most other people you met, he was respectful with his touches. he always had his hands clasped either in front or behind him, and he only ever touched you when dancing or kissing the back of your hand as a greeting.

he seemed very sweet, but you found that he had quite the extensive knowledge about war tactics. how to plan, where to strike first, how to absolutely obliterate someone in battle... things like that.

zhongli had the tendency to ramble on about things, which was quite handy when you needed something to fall asleep to. you've always tried to keep your eyes open, but they just end up closing on their own. and the next thing you know, you're tucked into your bed. this happens every time you're with zhongli, and you've begun to think that he does this on purpose since it helps you sleep after a particularly stressful day...

Ayato a noble from the inazuma kingdom, and another respected man. you didn't know him very well, so you never really had much to say about him. you had heard rumors that he was an incredibly smart and efficient man, leading his clan at a concerningly young age- and all while taking care of and protecting his younger sister.

you had also heard about how he had survived an assassination attempt from one of the most feared assassins in the land! the assailant was reportedly able to disappear and reappear at will, but the young master managed to outsmart him in the end.

facinating, you thought. maybe you'd be able to learn a thing or two from him.

Thoma one of ayato's guards, and the housekeeper of his manor. along with your parents, you'd visited the inazuma kingdom on a few occasions, and he was the first you noticed. after all, blonde hair and pretty green eyes weren't exactly common in inazuma.

and what a coincidence, you later found out that he was from the same kingdom as your childhood friend!

now, thoma was absolutely the sweetest guy you had ever met. he was kind, hospitable, and he knew the best places in inazuma to eat at. you tried your best to pay for your meals in return for his hospitality, but he never let you. always greeting you with a smile and sending you off with a kiss on your knuckles and a deep bow...

ah, he really is too nice for his own good.

Venti your dear childhood friend. the two of you had known each other since you were babies. he was a tad bit older than you, and since you were both royals, you had plenty of time to bond together. your childhoods were spent running around the castle halls, playing tag in the many passageways that littered the area.

venti always seemed to have a childish wonder to him, and that trait only persisted as the two of you got older. once you began to get swamped with royal duties, venti was always somehow there to provide a stress free environment for you to relax in.

whether it be a picnic in your garden, or a late night walk on the outskirts of your kingdom where you spent most of your time catching blue crystalflies. now, you had to admit- you had quite the crush on him when you were younger. the feelings have faded away by now, but they were quite fun while they lasted...

Kaeya a noble and the son of the late crepus. as he is adopted, he is not the heir of the ragnvindr house. unlike most would think, he doesn't mind it. he spends his free time roaming around the kingdom, making personal connections with people- unlike his dear brother. no offense to him.

you've met kaeya on a few occasions while hanging out with venti (xiao was tagging along, as a personal knight should.) he was often one of the ones shooed away by xiao due to his attempts at flirting with you. kaeya and venti were acquainted as they drank together a lot.

kaeya flirted with almost anyone, so you never knew if his flirting attempts were just his personality or genuine. did his smooth words genuinely fluster you at times? maybe, but we won't get to that now.

Albedo the chief alchemist of your alchemy department. he was very, very smart, and you often found him helping you out with your studies. normally they were quite boring. confusing math and science, sleep inducing reading and history... but with albedo there, everything was calm and fun...

he was patient with you, explaining things carefully and working things out with you if needed. albedo with his pretty hair and pretty glasses and pretty smile...

this meant nothing. you were just a sucker for pretty men.

anyways, albedo was quite the calculative person. he was another person who knew how you were feeling based off of your facial expressions, which was both a blessing and a curse. he knew when you were frustrated with something, which was a sign for him to grab your favorite drinks and snacks and take a break. now, this was something you'd always appreciated about him.

alrighty, here's the cast! keep in mind that not all of these are love interests, they're just the people who made it into the top five (with the exception of thoma and ayato who were guaranteed to be in the fic when i first thought of making something like this.)

these also aren't in any particular order because i didn't want to give away who the endgame was. i just randomized it a bit! you may think that you know who the endgame is based on what i wrote, but you're most likely wrong!

summary: next up is your lovely childhood friend venti! ever the carefree young man, venti is the person you go to when you want to let loose a little. although he has royal duties of his own, he’s willing to do anything for you, even if he hurts himself in the process.. characters included: venti, xiao, mentions of kaeya, mentions of albedo nova affectus series: day in his life <[previous] - [next]>

you closed your room door, groaning loudly in exhaustion. today was a long day of working with albedo and public appearances that felt like they lasted forever.

even though you loved seeing all of the citizens of your kingdom (more so the children as they were adorable. they often bought flowers with their pocket change and gave them to you as you rode by in your carriage) it felt like the energy of the various towns was seeping away at your very being.

collapsing onto your bed, you curled into a ball, taking in the feeling of the cool and soft sheets that enveloped your large bed. you were able to see the orange rays of the slowly dwindling light dancing across your walls. it was pretty, and you found yourself wondering if you'd be allowed to walk outside for a bit.

you were about to get up and go ask xiao for permission before a light knock on your balcony door interrupted your thoughts. quickly turning around, you noticed a person waving excitedly at you.

you ran over, quickly unlocking the doors and throwing them open. "venti!" like usual, venti was here to cheer you up. he always seemed to know when you were in a bad mood, and it's been like that since the two of you were children.

"hello, (y/n)!" he gave you a quick hug, and you eagerly hugged back. the two of you stayed in that position for a few seconds before pulling away, large smiles on both of your faces. venti was in more formal wear today, a dressy white shirt and black pants. his twin teal tipped braids were as pristine as ever, and you noticed that he had abandoned his usual hat.

clearly he had just ditched his post. you didn't really care though.

"come in!" you placed a finger over your lips before grabbing venti's hand, dragging him over to your bed so the two of you could sit. venti quickly made himself at home, laying back on your bed with a quiet sigh.

"how have you been?" venti asked, a small smile on his face. you playfully rolled your eyes, looking to the side at your headboard before averting his attention back to him. "i've been good. doing the usual studying and the occasional public appearance."

venti chuckled, crossing his arms under his head as a makeshift pillow. "what was it today, science? not really my thing." you groaned, flopping backwards so you were laying down as well. "ugh, it was terrible today! so many chemical formulas, i could feel myself getting more confused by the second."

you threw an arm over your face, preparing to tell him more- but the sound of your room door opening caused both you and venti to look up in confusion.

"your highness, who are you-" xiao's voice started off soft, as if he was trying to keep himself from interrupting your conversation more than he already did. but the politeness quickly faded once he saw who exactly you were talking to. "oh, it's you."

venti laughed nervously, and you found yourself suddenly becoming scared for his safety. xiao could be quite scary nowadays when he was angry (you found out the hard way when you were caught trying to sneak out for some fresh air in the middle of the night) and you'd hate for venti to witness that.

"you're tresspassing." xiao spoke, his spear clutched in his hand. "you have to leave." venti stood up, rolling his eyes in exasperation as he crossed his arms. "eh, tresspassing shmesspassing! i'm just saying hello to my very good friend! right, (y/n)?"

xiao's eye twitched at venti’s casual mention of your name, even though he was royalty himself (and you were childhood friends) which meant he was able to call you whatever he wanted. "but i'll be good and leave."

you and your knight watched as venti walked towards the window and sat on the edge, the light wind from outside blowing his loose clothing around a bit. "i guess i'll see you later, (y/n)!" and with a wave and a sly wink, he leaned backwards, falling and disappearing with a gust of the magic from his homeland.

a small noise of disgust caught your attention, and you turned around to find xiao rolling his eyes. the sight caused you to laugh, as xiao and venti seemed to have a bit of a rivalry for as long as you could remember. "he's not that bad, xiao." you spoke, a hint of amusement in your voice.

moving further up your bed, you drew your knees to your chest, resting your chin on them as you stared at the young man. "all we were doing was chatting about my day! maybe you need a little bit of that in your life too... how was your day?"

xiao scoffed, turning around in the direction of the cracked open door. "you don't need to know about my day, your highness. nothing truly important happened anyways." and before you could answerr, he walked out, gently closing the door behind him.

pouting slightly, you laid down. the previous orange rays on your walls had faded into an almost blue color, and the sheets were slightly warm. maybe xiao was too tired from earlier to tell you about his day? not that you minded, he didn't have to tell you everything. but even a little snippet of his 'waking up at the crack of dawn' routine would have been nice.

getting up, you went over to your large wardrobe, changing out of your clothes from earlier into something lighter. once you were changed, you laud back down, enveloping yourself in the soft sheets of your bed before dozing off.

but you were interrupted by the sound of light tapping on your window.

rubbing the sleep out of your eyes, you sat up. you put on a pair of shoes that were next to your bed before looking towards your balcony to see the very same person who had left your room just hours before. venti.

walking over to the door, you slowly creaked it open, not wanting to wake up your knight who was just next door. venti had a large smile on his face, as if he was expecting a warm invitation.

but he was wrong.

"what do you think you're doing popping up at this time?" you made sure to keep your voice low, and clearly venti was startled by it judging by how he flinched.

"well, i'm sorry!" he spoke, twiddling his fingers in front of him. "i had something planned for you earlier, but xiao caught me before i could tell you!" a cute little pout was on his face, and you would have given in if you didn't know his true ways of convincing you already.

venti caught on to this quickly, so he changed his way of persuading you. "come on, (y/n)! we haven't hung out- let alone see each other in so long!" he took your hand in his, bringing it to his chest. the gesture almost made your heart skip a beat. "can't we hang out tonight? just this once?"

you scanned his face. the combination of the sad look on his face as well as your hand in his made your heart ache. you had been stressed lately, so maybe a little break wouldn't hurt...

"oh, fine-" venti reacted quickly, his face lighting up as he pulled you close for a hug. the sudden closeness caught you off guard, and you found yourself yelping out before covering your mouth with your hand. after hearing your yelp, venti stopped, and the two of you spent the next few seconds in silence.

"he- he didn't hear, right?" venti whispered, and you shook your head. if he had heard you, he would have already been knocking on your door. "let's go before something else happens."

taking one more look back into your room, you nodded, and the two of you were quickly off. with the use of venti’s magic, you were able to quickly get to your location, which was a forested area in a place you had no recollection of.

“what is this place?” you asked, eyes wandering around the area. small lines of moonlight creeped through the leaves of the trees, giving barely enough light for you to see your friend. feeling venti squeeze at your hand, you glanced at him, taking note of how his ombré braids and eyes seemed to almost glow.

“something i found a few weeks ago, come on, it gets better!” venti began to lightly drag you along, and you found yourself laughing. the only things you could hear were the sounds of the leaves crushing under your feet and the wind weaving in between the leaves in the trees.

after a few seconds of being dragged along, the two of you made it to a clearing that made your jaw drop in awe. in front of you was a gorgeous lake with many flowers surrounding it. the sound of a waterfall that led into the lake echoed through the area, and more moonlight than before peeked through the top of the trees.

“cool right?” venti finally spoke up, a soft look in his eyes as he dragged you over to a basket and blanket that you somehow missed. the two of you sat down, and you continued to look around as venti spoke.

“i was having a hard time one day, and i just needed somewhere to go.” he pulled his knees up to his chest, thumbing at a blade of grass nearby. you felt your heart clench as you looked at him, taking note of the sad look on his face. “i just wanted to get out. so i did, and i found this place.”

glancing at you with a small smile, venti scooted closer to you, pushing the basket closer to your body. “‘course i can’t keep a place as pretty as this to myself, so i decided to show it to you!”

he changed the subject too quickly. “ven, come on…” you had a hint of what he was struggling with, but you weren’t willing to push at his boundaries and force it out of him. like you thought, he shook his head, this time putting the basket into your lap.

“i’ll be okay. here, open it!” there was a pretty little smile on his face, and you found yourself caving before opening the basket. inside were your favorite fruits and snacks, along with some drinks that you favored.

“oh, venti, you didn’t have to!” your friend laughed loudly, clearly pleased by your reaction. “nonsense! we’ve both been having a bad time recently, and it’s only fair to have a break every once in a while! this one just so happens to be a late one…”

a laugh escaped your lips as well, and you placed the items between the two of you. “well, what are we waiting for? let’s dig in!”

you and venti spent the next hour chatting about anything and everything you could think about, and the food slowly dwindled as the time went by. before you knew it, you were headed back to your home, happily full yet sad that you’d have to leave your friend again.

as you stood on your balcony, you contemplated if you really wanted to go back inside. while you really didn’t want to go back and do more work, you knew deep inside that you couldn’t just abandon your duties as royalty.

turning to venti, you gave him a quick hug. “thank you for this, ven.” the young man hugged you back, his hands rubbing at your back comfortingly. “i really needed this…”

you felt venti burry his face in your neck, chuckling at the slightly ticklish feeling. after a few seconds, he pulled away. “anything for you. and i could tell, we both needed this!” venti laughed softly, taking a quick glance at the moon as if he was searching for some sort of answer in the dark night sky.

“looks to be around one, you should get to bed.” right at that moment, you yawned, and venti found himself smiling at the sight. “goodnight, (y/n).”

“goodnight, venti.”

and with a gust of wind, he was gone.

“he’s willing to do anything for you, even if he hurts himself in the process.” hmm… could that be foreshadowing?? 🤨

summary: the first character we are introduced to is albedo, your lovely tutor and someone that you trusted with your deepest secrets. i wonder, what is his daily routine like? character included: albedo nova affectus series: day in his life <[next]>

"good morning, your highness." your tutor bowed, making you pout as you welcomed him in. the young man went by the name of albedo. he was the chief alchemist of your kingdom's scientific department, and he was well respected as one of the smartest men in the kingdom.

twice a week, he would visit your room in order to help you with your studies, mainly focusing on the mathematical and scientific aspects. he was a great teacher! he explained things in a manner that even an elementary schooler would understand, and he was very patient with you when you were struggling with a particular problem.

but before we get to all of the boring school stuff, let's get to know him better.

you weren't sure where albedo was originally born, but he used to live in mondstadt before he came to work for you. albedo began his routine well... after waking up! after he was done with his morning duties, he went over to the nearby alchemical department to do some quick work.

the work mainly consisted of him giving his assistants: sucrose and timaeus, something to do for a while/checking in on their progress. depending on the day, he would stay in the lab and work with them as the day flew by.

today wasn't one of those days, as it was tuesday. tuesdays typically meant that it was time for your bi-weekly tutoring session. anyways, that's how he ended up at your room door.

giving your guard a quick nod, albedo stepped in the room, scanning the decor before sitting at the table the two of you often worked at. it seems that, since his last visit, you had decorated your large room with more things. perhaps your friend had managed to sneak you out again without your parents noticing?

"now, albedo. i quite enjoy your company, but why must we spend so much time learning such boring things?" you pouted, sitting down with a huff as you crossed your arms. albedo found himself holding back a laugh. over the course of your many years of being friends, he found that you didn't quite like things that took up too much of your attention span. then again, who does?

"do forgive me, your highness, but i'm afraid that you're required to learn these things. after all, it is part of the royal curriculum." albedo set his books to the corner of the table, watching you with an amused look as you let out a loud groan. "what am i supposed to do with all this... dumb math stuff! i understand the science as i'll need it for potions later in life, but-"

you cut yourself off, sighing and grabbing one of the notebooks that albedo had brought with him. picking up a pencil, you gave him a determined look, a wide- yet strained - smile on your face as you opened the book. "enough complaining from me! i'll try my best!"

an hour or so passed, and albedo spent his time carefully explaining things to you as he went along. you did indeed try your best, but sometimes... it just wasn't enough. soon enough, there were various math problems scribbled across your page. the further down the page got, the more scribbled the numbers became. a sign that maybe it was time for a break.

“my head hurts…” you mumbled. your head was resting against your head, fingers rubbing at your temple in a soothing manner. giving you a small smile, albedo took your notebook, closing it before putting it on his side of the table. “alright, your highness. let’s take a break.”

he stood up, walking towards and opening your giant door. after having a quick conversation with your knight, he closed the doors once again, sending a sweet smile your way as he sat back down. “xiao should be back in a little bit with some food, so let’s just chat in the meantime.”

you nodded, leaning back and stretching in a not so elegant way. but who really cares, no one would see you anyways. “everything has been so boring lately,” you spoke up, sighing loudly after your stretch. “of course, i still have to look for suitors to marry, but other than that…”

albedo nodded slightly, pulling his seat closer to the table. “have you found anyone yet? i believe that one of the nobles from the inazuma kingdom had his eyes on you?”

you shrugged. “it might not be in that way though. and although he is quite good looking, i don’t know him enough to want to marry him.” a series of knocks on your door interrupted your talk, and you quickly rushed to answer the door.

upon opening it, you were met with xiao holding two large trays. one with snacks and the other with coffee and tea for you and your tutor. “here are the snacks you requested, your highness. shall i bring them in for you?” you gave him a quick nod, opening the door more and allowing him to come in.

albedo stood up as well, taking the tray with the drinks off of your knight’s hands in order to help. once you were done, xiao gave a deep bow and left, closing the door behind him. perhaps you should request some snacks for him later- he must be hungry.

“aright, your highness,” albedo spoke first, setting the tray he had on a table that didn’t have a lot of valuable work stuff on it. “let’s take a quick snack break and continue when we’re done. how does that sound?”

you gave him an excited nod, picking up one of the sandwiches with a smile. “it sounds great!”

as i finish writing this, i realize that this isn’t very ‘daily routine’ like. forgive me for that, but hopefully i’ll get used to it as i continue writing for the other men!! also it’s very rushed and fast paced…

“your highness, your parents have requested your presence.” those were the words your loyal knight, xiao, told you one early morning. you were nervous, and rightfully so. whenever your parents needed you, they often just came to your room to tell you themselves. but to think that they decided to summon you in a more formal way…

you wondered what it was.

you stepped into the throne room, your heart pounding in your chest as you looked around. the elegant red and gold detailing around the room was awe inspiring, but when you’re nervous and worried about your heart pounding out of your chest-

it just made you feel small.

you glanced at your knight. xiao gave you a small nod back, his way of telling you that it would all be okay. maybe he was right.

“hello, my dear.” one of your parents spoke up, their place on the smaller throne making them look like the most powerful person in the world. “sorry that we have to summon you like this, but this is a very important announcement.”

you bowed/curtsied slightly, trying to hide the nervous look on your face. “i hope you’re not trying to marry me off to someone…” you spoke softly, but at the same time, it was loud enough for your parents to hear.

your other parent let out a loud laugh from their spot on the bigger throne, and you found yourself getting a tad bit more nervous.

“i wouldn’t say that, (y/n),” they smiled, and suddenly, you were more confused than nervous. “you are around the age you need to start getting looking for potential suitors, but unlike in other kingdoms…” they paused, glancing at your other parent with a knowing smile.

your parents had been part of an arranged marriage, something that was decided since they were born. they were lucky, and ended up falling in love through their teenage years and happily marrying. they had no idea how you would be if they forced you to marry someone against your will, so…

“we’ve decided to allow you to choose who to marry!” you glanced from one parent to the other, trying to process what they had just said. “you’re not… forcing me to marry?”

you had plenty of friends who had been forced to marry, and you were beyond scared that you were going to be next. but to your surprise, you weren’t. “i can choose who i want?” a smile graced your face, and you found yourself running up to your parents, hugging them tightly.

“thank you, thank you!- wait,” you pulled away suddenly. tilting your head in confusion. “i don’t have anyone in mind to marry just yet?”

one of your parents spoke up, their booming voice echoing through the throne room. “we’re not rushing you, dear (y/n)! you can take as much time as you want.” the other parent nodded, a gentle smile on their face.

“we know that whoever you choose, they’ll be perfect for you.” backing away from the thrones, you gave them another quick curtsy/bow, running out of the room. xiao quickly followed behind. you got to choose who you wanted to marry! this should be really easy… right?

anyways the characters should be revealed in a while, but it might be a few days since i still have to write the last few character introductions!

(for now though, i’ll fill the tags with everyone i write for. if i only tagged the people you voted for, you would be able to figure out who the characters are before i reveal them, and i can’t let that happen!!)

also um, sorry if this part is hastily written, i needed a prologue or something and it was written on my phone in the span of like… 50 minutes-

oh yeah, let me know in the comments how you feel about the gender neutral parent thing! i didn’t execute it very well in this part (like i said it was written in under an hour) so it may be a bit confusing as they seem like the same person at times.

should i just default it to a mom and dad, or use king and queen but keep the genders more neutral? (ex: the queen spoke loudly, their elegant yet commanding and strong voice sending shivers down the knights’ spines.) djjsjdskdnd just let me know in the comments, thankssss!!!!

i literally have nothing to do in my life rn, so why am i not writing?

answer is: i don’t know.

i get to writing but i stop halfway through the fic. the obvious solution to that would be to just continue writing and push through it, but that just leaves my fics with a rushed feeling to them. i know some of you have noticed it. some of my fics start off good but halfway through it starts getting rushed (prime example is the venti fic from my nova affectus series)

anyways idk what’s wrong maybe i need to think for a bit

i took a little mini break and all (or maybe i just completely forgot to check my stuff, who knows???) but anyways that little break was very much needed, i was on a little vacation for my little sisters birthday and it was really funnnnn, i got to swim for the first time in a year which makes me sad because now i know i’ll never be able to do it again (ya girl doesn’t have enough money to be spending willy nilly like that)

one day i’ll be rich enough to spoil my family <3 (i will it’s not a debate i absolutely will be rich little kid me even knew that >:( )

but break over, now it’s time for me to get back into the groove of writing, i need to pre write more nova affectus stuff since i have NOT gotten to that yet- uhhh yeah byeeee that’s it for my little updateee
