"You know what the worst thing about being a line cook is?" Foster sighed, leaning on the table, resting his chin on his arms. "It's that I almost never feel like cooking for myself at home."

badger & boar pub ! ( open for — @nottinghillstarters )
one beer, two beer, shot… already striker’s eyes were subject to double-vision, a phenomenon near impossible to navigate thanks to his left pupil’s tendency to wander on its own accord. the magic of his evening? not one drink had been paid for out of pocket. half-guzzled pint glasses had been swiped from abandoned tables, the dregs of downed shots poured to the back of his throat, the odd sip of whiskey from a bottleneck swiped from behind the bar. over the years of empty pockets and a hankering for booze the oldest cannon had invented genius ways of getting hammered for nothing more than a flutter of his eyelids.
with a nudge, the male gestured to a glittering bottle of vodka, gold flecks nestled at the bottom of the glass, sitting pretty beyond the counter. those drinks were reserved for the christmas celebrations, the birthday drinks, the post-lottery wins; surely they could never afford even so much as a whiff. “dare you to grab that pretty lil’ thing up there,“ his voice was a gravelly whisper, loud enough just so his counterpart could hear over the hubbub, “i suddenly got a hankerin’ for the yellow stuff.“

"You good if I sit here?" Gabe wasn't giving them much of a choice, the place was packed and he had an essay he needed to finish, his own place complete chaos right now. A moment later he dropped down a pile of books, letting a sigh go heavily. "What is going on today? Where did everybody come from?"

✩ LOCATION: the library , probably or a coffee shop if you don't have anyone who would be in the library ✩ STATUS: open ! @nottinghillstarters
SHE’S MUMBLING A BIT TO HERSELF , the frustration so clear in her tone as her hand writes rapidly across unlined paper — charts decorating it’s entirety . she keeps looking at the book , writing more down , little notes in the corner that she’s certain only she could decipher . she’d been so lost in her head , that she didn’t realize she’d sat in the seat where someone’s bag had already been behind the chair , meaning it had likely been claimed , so when footsteps interrupt her thinking process , she looks up , a bit frazzled , ‘ oh god , i am so sorry , were you sitting here ? ‘

pari looks up at the wall of skateboards in front of her, "could you see me skating?" she asks the other. "maybe i'd get into it, if i could have a pink skateboard" pari had always been a girly girl, with pink being her favourite colour.

location: Bluebird Cafe
Lorna had never been so tired in her life, not only was she on a late shift but her neighbours were having guests over so she only managed to get a few hours of sleep. Thankfully the coffee she got was giving her a boost of energy that she needed to do shopping that day. She had been looking down at the list she had scribbled down before she left and hadn't noticed the other until she looked up for a second. "Oh I didn't realise how packed it was, need to sit down? I don't mind."

↳ ft. blair + anyone ! ( @nottinghillstarters ) at eclipse nightclub
❝ wow ! ❞ the exclamation comes in the form of a singular word, softly slurred by the several rounds of shots he's indulged in with perfect strangers over the course of the night. glassy gaze is locked on the exuberant aftermath immediately following a marriage proposal in the middle of the club ; a handful of patrons cheering and applauding, a few confetti poppers, and, at the center, an enviably happy couple. blair is unfazed by the unusual choice in venue for such a grand act of love, beaming fondly as he turns to face the person nearest him. ❝ i did a round of tequila with the two of them earlier ― she said that their favorite dj is performing tonight ! ❞ he calls over the music. ❝ he played at their first rave ! how romantic is that ? ❞ and, more importantly, why can't he ever find that ? anyway... no, it's too nice a moment to spoil, he should just admire it. ❝ do you want to get drink ? ❞
#↳ narrative ( blair )#↳ ft.#nottinghillstart#alcohol tw#also jfc i think this might be my first open literally how has this happened#maybe i'll post another soon ??

location: jamie's front yard / public sidewalk stats: open @nottinghillstarters
she'd been in the middle of hose watering the grass - mostly because she was bored, and it was relaxing. she was interrupted by a noise above her, causing her to turn and look up - and there piper was, on the roof, walking back and forth. so, her motherly instincts kicked in, but so did her childish ones. she aimed the water up to spray the teen, earning a growl of frustration. dropping the hose, she pointed 'down'. "i don't know what you were thinking getting on the roof, and without your ears at that, but get your ass down and don't let me catch you up there again or i'll put prison bars on the windows," jamie spoke as she signed before walking over to the mailbox. "they say 'be friendly with your children', but then there's my child, who gives me daily heart confarctions cause she does stuff like play on the roof," she muttered, flipping through the envelopes she took out of the box.

LOCATION: the grind
𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐊 official ownership of hammonds pub, bowie had hit the ground running. they had wanted to make things bigger and better than before, but still keep things traditional. meeting up with a friend to get work done certainly made things easier -- giving them a friendly face to gaze up to when they were beginning to get overwhelmed. ❝ do ya happen to know any bands that are lookin' for gigs ? ❞ bowie asked, twirling a pencil between their fingers as they spoke. their face was illuminated by the sunlight, but the glow of their laptop screen was certainly apparent. ❝ i need some new faces -- might be a little more willin' to hear 'em out. ❞

“I’m not really big on this stuff,” Esmeralda admitted, carefully flipping through a tarot deck. “But the artwork is so pretty. I was thinking about doing a cosplay photo series based on a tarot deck. " The dark haired girl finally looked over at the person she'd gone to the shop with. "What do you think - should we buy a deck and try to learn how they work?"

wolfe's den ! ( open for — @nottinghillstarters )
it wasn’t often that evanie had a night free, escaping from being shackled behind the bar and allowed to indulge in the blaring music without the responsibilities of a bartender. instead she was spending the evening beneath fluorescent lights, twirling within a sea of strangers, singing along to whatever music the DJ chose to play. after what seemed like hours of generic pop hits, the first few lines of ’that don’t impress me much' by shania twain rang out through the venue. excitedly, she took hold of the first arm that happened to come into contact with her fingertips, dragging them to the middle of the floor to dance. “oh my god—this is my song!”

for: @nottinghillstarters ( open! ) location: local park
Seriously? This was how his morning was going to go? Usually, Dominic didn't bother to take the dog out, he'd be straight to the office, on the phone, multiple emails answered before he even got there. Today, however, he'd chosen to take his time, not to rush, to stop by the park and let the dog run around for an hour before he did anything else. Clearly a mistake because now the dog was running around after other people, tail-wagging manically, as opposed to just running around by himself. Jogging after him casually, feet slipping slightly on the early morning dew, a breathy laugh escaped him as he called out, "Sorry, he's a big, dumb idiot..." Much like his owner at that moment. "He only wants to play and he thinks everyone else does, too. No boundaries."

✩ location : hammond's pub ✩ open : @nottinghillstarters
IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING that hammond’s pub was popular on a saturday night . every seat at the bar , the high tops , even some standing around drinking — each space was full to the max . luckily , he’d arrived early enough to get a seat at the end of the bar , but that didn’t mean it was the most … comfortable place to be in . with a cold beer in hand , however , he was able to ignore it and the loud chatter going on behind him . it’s not until he feels someone stumble against his back that his attention is pulled away from the television above the bar , followed by the sound of glass hitting the bartop that he turns to see the same person that stumbled into him , managed to knock over the drink of the person sitting next to him . ‘ ah shit – ‘ without apology , the patron kept going , yelling over to what appeared to be a group of friends seated at the far corner , ‘ that sucks , listen , let me buy you another one . ‘

open starter // @nottinghillstarters leaving the grind
after a morning meeting hadn't gone her way , val decided it was very important for her mental health to not work from home today . it was one of those rare times where she considered going back to creating an office , but for now the grind would be a good enough place to grind . after hours there , val finally collected her things to go . she was mumbling dates and fabrics and measurements beneath her breath while packing up and turning on her heel . she finally stops talking to herself long enough to realize someone else was . did she forget something behind ? did they recognize her ? she doubted it due to being dressed down . still , valeria doubles back reluctantly . ' did you say something ? '

starter: open location: Badger and Boar Pub
"Hi I'm Siles Feng -- and you're watching Celebrity Teatime on Channel 4," he said in his most confident TV voice. "How was that? Or should it be more like "From Celebrity Teatime, I'm Siles Feng. Next on Channel 4." Both sounded equally bad but in his attempt to redefine himself as a professional news anchor, he needed something catchy people would remember. If he could get them to think about his catch phrase, maybe then he could drive viewership up. @nottinghillstarters
