Sonja should have turned him down, should have told Magnus to shove his favour owed so far up his ass that it never came out again. Instead she had agreed, even if the gold band on her finger felt like it burned when she did. The huntress wanted revenge on Valentine, but she wasn't the type to kill a kid. Magnus knew it, and it was why he'd hired her. No other would smuggle the kid out knowing who her father was, and Sonja knew it wasn't fair to blame the child for who their parents were. Many would kill her to get at Viktor, if they found out they were related.

Sonja looked at the girl, pursing her lips and thinking over whether or notshe should just walk out the door and tell Magnus he'd need more than a prayer to get the kid to the fireflies, he'd need magic.

"Get your gear girl, and a spare pair of shoes. We're going to be walking most of the way, and I don't want to hear a peep out of you about that, am I clear? You want to get to the fireflies safely and in one peace? You do as I say. We're going outside the walls of the quarantine zone, infected aren't the only things out there that want you dead. You want to live? Keep close, keep quiet, keep your head down." The huntress instructed, folding her arms over her chest and waiting for the girl, Clary, to grab her things. The leather jacket Sonja wore was hiding various weapons, guns, knives, shivs strapped to her. her backpack held other scavenged gear and weapons. Her hair had blades hidden in the braided locks, making her look wilder than she actually was.

The huntress was known for the leather armour that she wore, after all, it was hard for someone to bite through leather. It gave her good protection against the infected and stopped most blades. Bullets would get through and did, she'd stitch the holes in her armour with whatever she could. In daytime, it made her stick out, but at night, she was very hard to spot. They'd cross as much of the populated areas at night as Sonja could arrange.

"Get a brush, and come here when you're done. That ponytail might keep your hair out of your eyes but its a liability if someone grabs you. Just don't grab your hair when I'm done, or you're going to stitch your own hand back together, and there's not a chance I could find you a tetanus shot in this day and age." She sincerely hoped that it wouldn't be a mistake to do this, she'd be civil to the kid....it was about as much as she could do. Sonja knew the sooner they set out, the sooner that they could slip out past the soldiers and get on their way. If they were lucky, it would only take a season to get from one side of the country to the other.

The Springboks schedule for 2023 has been confirmed by SA Rugby, outlining South Africa’s path to the World Cup Final beginning with their first test against Eddie Jones’ Australia in Pretoria in July.

The defending champions have confirmed that they would compete in six matches before facing Scotland on September 10 in Marseille for their World Cup debut.

On July 8, Jacques Nienaber’s team plays Australia at home to open the 2023 Test season before going to New Zealand to play the All Blacks.

On July 29, a match against Argentina will mark the conclusion of the condensed Rugby Championship at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

The Wallabies will visit Loftus Versveld for the first time since 2016, and the Springboks will host Argentina in Johannesburg for the first time since 2013. All of the Springboks home tests will take place in Gauteng, at an altitude. Both of both games were won by South Africa, who defeated Australia 18-10 and Argentina 73-13.

You were at the edge of your seat. Fina-fucking-lly!

“Well, it was about time!” The voice beside you exclaimed. You would normally throw a pillow at Bambam when he complains in the middle of watching a movie, but this time, you simply couldn’t be bothered, so you just settled with trying to hit him without looking. “Hey!”

“Shhh! Shut up will y— oh! Look, look, I think this is it!”

The male lead— Peter, as the his love interest called him— seemed taken aback. “Really? I mean, you do?” He stammered, avoiding her gaze, then letting out a sigh of relief. He looked at her longingly once more, unable to stop himself from grinning widely. “Jean, I’ve always wanted to tell you that—”

“Of course I like you, Peter! You’re my best friend after all!”

“What?!” You and Bambam screamed in unison.

“Oh come on!” You groaned, sinking further into the couch. Bambam, on the other hand, booed at the television, throwing popcorn. “Man, you suck!”

“God, I know right?” You mutter under your breath, disappointed. The movie had been dragging the confession scene for so long that you’ve finally given up and lost interest. “How can she be so blind?”

“What, no!”  Bambam glanced at you, giving you a look. “I didn’t mean the girl!” You throw up your hands, not getting his point. He only shook his head slowly, clicking his tongue.

“That guy,” He points at the forgotten movie on the screen, “gotta step up his game.” He shakes his head again, showing his deep disappointment.

You roll your eyes at him. “Confessing ain’t that easy, hot shot. Also, how could she not sense that that was a literal confession? Jesus, everyone can see that he’s head over heels for her! What is she scared of?”

Bambam shrugs, continuing to munch on his popcorn. “I’mhh notsh shayingsh ish eashy!” You shot him a deadpan stare as he pauses to swallow his food. “I’m just saying he could’ve done better! I mean man, who tells someone they like someone like that?”

You were about to open your mouth to retort back, but Bambam didn’t miss a beat. He quickly stood up and grabbed a slice of pizza, gazing at it lovingly like the way the main character had looked at the love of his life.

“Oh, pizza!” He lets out an exaggerated sigh, placing his free hand on his chest. “You do know I’m quite fond of you, right?” Then he gasps loudly, eyes widening in feigned surprise. “Oh, really? You do?!”

You burst out laughing. It was now your turn to throw popcorn at him. “You look like an idiot!”

“See? My point exactly!” Bambam returns the pizza in the box— gross— and flops beside you on the couch. He seems satisfied to have proven his point, but it wasn’t like you to back down easily. 

“So you’re saying his confession was bad, huh?”

“Yep. Totally sucked ass.”

“Are you implying you could do better?”

“Well, duh! I mean, like seriously? That was one of the worst confessions I’ve ever seen.”

“Really now?”

“Are you seriously still asking me about this?”

“Then prove it, you dumbass.”

“Oh, you bet I will— wait what?!” Bambam turns to you, confused. “Now how exactly do I do that?”

You pause for a moment, realizing that you haven’t thought this far. “I don’t know? Uh, pretend you’re like, confessing or whatever.“ 

Suddenly, your eyes grow a fraction wider, letting him know you had an idea. “Yeah! Pretend you’re confessing to me! Hah! Then I’ll be the one to say if it was a good confession.” You held your chin high, folding your arms.

He couldn’t possibly take this seriously. It’s Bambam after all, you thought.

Bambam almost chokes as soon as the words leave your lips. “P-pretend? Confessing to you? No way!” He looks at you in faux disgust and— if you had looked closely— a hint of panic.

You only raise your chin smugly, smiling at him. “Knew it. You were just talking shit.”

Suddenly, Bambam gets it. The only reason you suggested that was because you had full confidence that he wouldn’t— and probably couldn’t— do a confession seriously.  

Well, you weren’t really wrong. You knew Bambam after all. If this was any other friend, he either would’ve just told them no homo, bro or react violently in disgust. Except, it was you and he wanted to prove something, so he did exactly the opposite of what you expected.

“Well, if you really wanted a confession, why didn’t you just say so?” He grins at you widely, which was usually a bad sign. He turns to face you, and holds of both your hands.

“Wait— what are you doing?” You could feel your cheeks go warm as you notice your proximity.

“I’m giving you your confession, stupid.” His thumb softly caressed your hand, as if knowing that your heart was about to leap from your chest.

He was so close that you wanted to look at anything but his face, but at that moment he seemed so sincere and weirdly determined that you couldn’t stop looking into his eyes.

This is bad.

“Bambam, wait, I—”

“Shhh,” He silenced you, placing his finger on your lips. “You asked for this.”

I guess I have to go with it then. When he sees you give in to his (your) request, he goes back to holding both your hands and clears his throat.   

“Y/N, I—I’ve been wanting to say this for a long time, I just didn’t know how, you know? I mean, we’ve been friends since forever, right?”

You responded by reflex, nodding your head.

“I don’t know how it happened, honestly. Maybe I was just used to having you around. I mean, we’re always together. We know everything about each other as well. I’ve already seen you cry a thousand times! You’ve already seen me do stupid things many times. We’ve already did so many stupid shit together too!”

You roll your eyes at him. He wasn’t wrong though. The both of you have been together through so much, you couldn’t imagine who would you right now without him.

“What I’m trying to say is, I knew you were always important to me, but this— this feels different.”
