in the last two days i have listened to ten albums. long car ride go brrrrr

anyways i ranked them all: 11: Owl City - Coco Moon (2023) not a bad album, liked it better than Cinematic or Mobile Orchestra, but Owl City peaked in 2009 like the rest of my taste in music 10: They Might Be Giants - BOOK (2021) honestly fell asleep during this one so i can't rate it properly, tmbg was my childhood tho so this is not at all a dig against them but their older stuff is a bit better imo 9: Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love not a bad album at all, i'm just not as into the r&b style music, especially when listening in the car makes it hard to hear the more reverby washy vocals 8: Glass Animals - How to Be a Human Being (2016) it was good but had the same not-quite-my-style issues as UMO, those 2 are about even tbh 7: MISOGI - Death Metal nice and indie, not always a big rap guy but MISOGI is great, reminds me of nothing,nowhere. liked his little*stars ep better but death metal is quite nice 6: Death Cab for Cutie - Kintsugi love me some death cab, kintsugi is nice and unexpectedly ambient, walla's last album is his best-produced 5: Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlanticism (2003) the death cab classic, absolutely had to be next on my list to listen to every death cab album. it was good and i liked it. 4: Paramore - Riot! (2007) liked paramore's more recent stuff a lot but riot! confirms hayley williams' amazingness as a vocalist 3: Death Cab for Cutie - Asphalt Meadows starting to sense a theme here? would be #1 if it was my first listen but since it was my 3rd i wouldve felt bad denying the other albums top 2... but one of my faves all-time 2: Wallows - Nothing Happens (2019) fantastic album 10/10 why didn't i listen to my friends telling me to listen to them sooner omg 1: Astrale - Pastpresentfuture (2023) love Astrale so much, reminds me a lot of my own style, great voice, super niche and obscure... checks all the boxes for me

Did you know that the average human being has an attention span of less than a goldfish? 

From 2016 to the current year the attention span is around 8 seconds, a goldfish on the other hand has around 9 seconds. Isn't it amazing that a goldfish that can fit into the palm of a small child has more focus than a person? One of the significant causes was the internet. Since 2016 social media and online chatting platforms have been getting more popular, especially during the COVID-19 years. People found other ways to distract themselves from being stuck at home for almost a year and a half. Many people switched to watching tiktok and small clips of news, 

they could get any information in about 8-15 second clips and move onto the next video. It can come in handy to get information fast and easily but it’s still not enough to write whole papers or gather a thought on it, so you keep scrolling by, ignoring it onto the next video and the next and the next…
