Approaching this female was almost a bad idea, at least that’s what the skeleton assumed. The brute behind her kept shuffling, ready for attack it seemed. Not that it could attack, but Rus seemed like he wanted to fight regardless.

Ignoring that, G waited for Aliza’s response. He didn’t wait long, nor was he surprised. Hand on chin, she eyed him, considering. “If we were to help you with supplies, what would be in it for us?”

G’s grin got wider than before. “What exactly do you want, Madam?”

Astonished, Aliza quickly collected herself and said, “I want to watch you work. Clearly this place, wherever it is, is holding us hostage. While I enjoy watching the otherworldly brutes give each other the stick eye, I need a distraction until I can return to my people.”

G’s jaw barely twitched. He wasn’t too fond of watchers, but he needed the supplies. His gaze then landed on Rus. “I’m assuming he would want to come along?” Rus growled in response, taking a step forward. G ignored the threatening response as Aliza responded. “He is my uncle and protector. There should be no problem with this.” Her voice was challenging him, lilac eyes calculating.

He sighed, almost exasperated. “I do not see the problem with that. Your uncle however, is he intelligent?”

Rus grunted but didn’t respond. Aliza nodded and said, “He may not seem like it, but he is smart. Do you need assistance while you work?”

“It is very possible, but I wouldn’t want him out of his comfort zone.” G grimaced; it was almost like cornering a wild animal. Frisk would be nowhere near these two, Rus especially.

The monster in mention started shifted more, becoming more nervous the more G stood there and talked to them. Aliza yanked the yank gently, centering Rus again and reminding him subtly that everything was fine. With a sigh, she asked, “And what of your wife? I figured you would be around her constantly.”

G scoffed. “I already have someone watching her. Think of two of me, but more…” Another glance at Rus, “more jumpy, less willing to talk,” he finished.

Aliza seemed satisfied with this. “Plenty of metal and, what was it, silk?” G simply grinned, causing the human to sigh. “I’ll see what I can come up with.”

With that, she turned around and gently touched Rus’ skull, giving him the faintest of smiles. “It’s been a while, so let’s find something to eat.” At the mention of food, G’s stomach barely growled. Figuring she was silently dismissing him, he turned and started to walk off. It was about time he fed his dearest.

A butterfly fluttered near Aliza and she took notice, watching as it fluttered around her almost happily. She scoffed. “Futile as this may be, I am curious. You’ll get your husk soon enough.” The butterfly fluttered only slightly closer before flying off. She frowned but didn’t ponder about it.

She had an uncle to feed.

I can just imagine Chara doing the "BUT IT WAS ME, DIO ALL ALONG" thing. But with Chara replacing Dio.

Is this au of caretaker supposed to be the fell version, or is it something else?

No, no, that’s not right.The initial idea for the design came from conversations I had with Mineru for coming up with “AU ideas”, with the drawings being just jokes, like BlackRazorBill’s Beardtaker and my other creation (altough I’m not so certain I actually came up with the idea myself) Barataker.

Because Underfell/Swap were the original AUs for Undertale, it seeemed only logical to draw that (especially because at the time, no one expected Chara to be a killer, so Undertaker would contrast Caretaker’s friendly facade).

The comic’s completely different though. I fleshed out the characters’ personality, backgrounds and preferences to a point that’s hard to believe they started out as the exact same character but wearing black clothes.

Funnily enough, Undertaker’s laid back vibes are still a stark contrast to Caretaker. Somethings never change.
