I absolutely love your writing!! Idk if you're open for request, but if you do, can I request doctor!reader with Harumasa? He loves to go to infirmary not only he can pretend to be sick but also just to see them
Tumblr media
Double trouble cause I thought it sounded like a fun combination. Does using a 1988 song name as the title make me sound old? 🤔

The end of your pen tapped thoughtfully against your plush lower lip as you skimmed your notes. Once. Twice. Your eyes dart to the opened paper file on the counter beside you.
Even cracked it was a solid two inches high and crammed full of health histories, specialty consult results and prescription sheets all bound haphazardly with what looked like ties from a bread bag. You really needed to get an actual binder to hold it all, but as of now you had other problems to address.
“Well,” you swiveled your chair around as you clicked your pen, eyes still skimming your intake sheet before you looked up with a smile, “Good news is nothing seems to be wrong. Well, let me rephrase that, wrong when compared to your baseline.”
It was an important differentiation to make when you were dealing with one of your most tasking patients. In your two years of clinic practice in the city you had never needed to spend a series of days pouring over a patient file, heck, even before you graduated and were staged as a resident in the clinic in the Outer Ring it wasn’t so extensive.
Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome was a bad actor, and Asaba Harumasa seemed to be its favorite role to haunt.
He coughed pitifully, a hand splayed over his chest as he shook his head. “Are you sure, Doc? My body’s aching all over and my head feels funny, and I—,” he coughed again, “can’t seem to shake this cough.”
You frowned, scribbling another note on your papers. “Have you been taking all your medications as indicated?”
“Just as the doctor ordered…actually,” a pensive expression decorated his face as he fisted the fabric of his work shirt, “maybe I have a deficiency in something, I think I ran out of some of my vitamins.”
You perked up immediately, flipping quickly to his laundry list of medication and supplements. “Which one have you been missing? A? C? K?”
“I think it was vitamin you.”
“Oh.” You pulled your prescription pad off the desk. “I’m going to write you an order for  Vitamin U. Try adding some cruciferous veggies to your diet, leafy greens, broccoli, stuff like that. Call me if it starts giving you stomach problems.”
You tore the slip off your pad as you extended it to him, the paper decorated in your curling and messy script.
“Do you need a work excuse?”
Should he just quit? This was the question he asked himself every time he stepped out the door of the clinic back onto the street, paper bag of medication in his hand.
White coat syndrome was a very real affliction, though his heart wasn’t racing and his blood pressure wasn’t spiking because he was anxious. After the fourth visit you just assumed it was his baseline response to see his pulse spike randomly through the exam, after all, his syndrome mainly seemed to impact his heart and lungs.
What you didn’t know was that wasn’t his baseline, nor was it a mutation of his syndrome not documented by his past physicians. It was simply a biological response to something else you conveniently seemed to not notice: the raging interest he had in you.
Rest assured he was absolutely mortified when he figured it out himself, laying on his back staring at the ceiling in the dark as he realized he was enthralled by the very idea of you. Your intelligence, your nimble hands, the way you tapped your pen against your lips when met was a challenge you hadn’t quite deciphered, your warm smile.
It wasn’t a complete lie when he would tell you he felt feverish, or that his stomach felt sick and his heart was racing, he felt all those things with horrifying clarity tenfold when your hand pressed against his forehead after noting aloud that his skin seemed flush and clammy.
Was it crossing a line to be flirting with your doctor? Definitely, he was sure he was toeing some doctor-patient professional relationship line, but if he ended up in someone else’s care later then there really wasn’t anything holding him back.
But he was growing increasingly convinced that if you weren’t intentionally playing dumb that you might be a little thick when it came to the nuanced science of flirtation because he had shifted from casual to nearly outright and you never batted an eye.
How else could you have misinterpreted his texts from last week? He was half-giddy with excitement, sure he had you this time.
I miss you.
Your appointment isn’t until next week, you didn’t miss anything. Have a good night :)
It haunted him nearly as much as the day he forgot his work excuse and asked you to text it to him, how proudly he had flipped the phone screen to show Tsukishiro until she squinted and asked, “Why do you have heart emojis around your doctor’s name?”
A devastating blow to his ego. But so was every failed attempt to catch your eye.
“Do you have an inhaler? Cause you just took my breath away.”
“Hold on, I’ll grab one from the cart. You’re supposed to carry your own inhaler, Mr Asaba!” You scolded, disappearing for a moment before tossing him an inhaler.
“You look a little under the weather yourself, Doc. Sure you aren’t deficient in vitamin M E?”
“Ah, I didn’t put as much makeup on today.” You cupped your cheeks with your hands thoughtfully. “I feel fine though, thanks for your concern.”
“I’m no organ donor, but I’d love to give you my heart.”
“Your medical condition prevents you from joining the organ donation program.” You didn’t even bother to turn around when you acknowledged him.
“I think my heart just skipped a beat when I looked at you.”
“You’re on a medication that regulates heart rhythm, should I write you a cardiology referral?”
He went to text you again as he walked home for the evening. Typed. Deleted. Typed again. Deleted again. You just weren’t getting it, or maybe you were just too kind to tell him you weren’t interested or even that you had a boyfriend already on his numerous visits. Maybe he should just give you some space?
But maybe that would be cruel when you were standing on the sidewalk waiting for the light to change, mascara smeared down your cheeks as you sniffled. He pocketed his phone.
“Hey Doc, you alright?”
You tensed, head swiveled in his direction before you quickly turned your face away, hands swiping at your cheeks before wiping them on your dark scrubs hastily.
“Oh, hey Mr. Asaba.” He frowned at your attempt at a cheerful tone, your voice still wavering from your tears before you cleared your throat. “You, uh, don’t have to call me Doc when the clinic is closed.”
“And you don’t have to call me Mister when I’m not sitting on your exam table.” He retorted, catching the little quirk at the corner of your lips as they quivered in a small smile.
“Want me to walk you home? It’s kinda late.”
“No, but thank you.” You peered over your shoulder towards the restaurant just behind you. You gripped your bag tighter, inching closer to where he stood beside you on the curb.  “Actually, would you mind..?”
He didn’t have to ask you what was wrong, within the first five minutes of your walk you had apologized to him multiple times, started crying again, and spilled your heart out.
Six bad dates in the span of a couple weeks came to a head over a plate of chicken parm, your date kicking back as he declared you to be dull, hopeless, slow, and much uglier in person than your dating profile picture (which was your clinic profile photo).
“He said that I “couldn’t take a hint”, whatever that’s supposed to mean!” You cried indignantly before you turned to him, eyes puffy and wet from your tears.
“Am I that bad?”
He sucked a breath between his teeth. “Well, not to play the devil’s advocate but I’ve been flirting with you for weeks and you didn’t notice.”
You stopped dead in your tracks. “What?!”
He held up his hands defensively, but before he could say anything your head had already hung low, shuffling your clinic sneakers on the dirty sidewalk outside your apartment.
“I’m sorry.” Your voice was small as your shoulders sank. “I’m not very good at stuff like this.”
He rubbed the back of his neck, fingers grazing his choker. “I noticed, but it’s fine. You just need things to be a little more straightforward.”
He took a deep breath, clasping his hands together as he pointed at you. “I think you’re very pretty and charming in your weird doctor-y kind of way, so I would like to take you out for dinner sometime. Like, romantically.”
He was sure you gave yourself whiplash for how quickly your head snapped up, eyes wide. You brushed your tousled hair back from your face, cheeks flushing brightly enough he could see them burning under the streetlights.
“Oh, okay….when?”
“Tomorrow after you get off? I’m dreaming of beer and fried chicken if you aren’t opposed.”
“Of course not!”
He was a little taken aback by how aggressively you answered, your hands clasping around one of his as if he was about to dematerialize before your very eyes.
“Great, then I will see you tomorrow. Have a good night, Doc—I mean, (y/n).”
“Good night to you as well.”
He turned to leave. He was practically screaming inside like a teenage girl you just secured a prom date, a new lightness to his step in the wake of his victory.
“Harumasa!”
He paused in his step, head whipping around to face you. You still stood on the stoop, a smile plastered across your face like he hadn’t seen before, one that lit your eyes up and dimpled your cheek.
“Thank you!”
He gripped his chest over his heart as it flipped wildly in his chest. His grin was pained when he looked up at you.
“Doc, I might actually need emergency care this time--,”

File Folders and Binders: Keep student work, lesson plans, and important documents neatly organized with file folders and binders. Color-coded options can help you quickly find what you need.
Desk Organizers: Desk organizers can help keep your workspace tidy and efficient. Consider using trays, pen holders, and drawer organizers to keep everything in its place.
2. Classroom Supplies
Stocking up on essential classroom supplies ensures you’re prepared for any situation. Here are some must-haves:
Writing Utensils: Pencils, pens, markers, and highlighters are fundamental tools for any classroom. Keep a good supply on hand to avoid running out mid-lesson.

Wall Posters and Banners: Educational posters and banners can reinforce key concepts and create a visually stimulating learning environment.
Comfortable Seating: Ensure you have comfortable seating options for both you and your students. Bean bags, cushions, and ergonomic chairs can create a cozy reading nook or a flexible seating area.
5. Personal Care Items
Teaching can be demanding, so it’s important to take care of yourself, too. Here are some personal care items to keep you at your best:
Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining energy levels throughout the day. Invest in a good water bottle that you can refill as needed.
Healthy Snacks: Keep a stash of healthy snacks like nuts, fruit, or granola bars in your desk to keep you fueled during busy days.
Hand Sanitizer and Tissues: Keep hand sanitizer and tissues readily available to maintain a healthy classroom environment.

In the realm of office supplies, binder clips might not be the first item to ignite excitement. However, when you add a splash of color to these practical tools, they become not only functional but also a vibrant addition to your organizational arsenal. Let’s explore the myriad ways colored binder clips can add flair and efficiency to your daily life, both at work and at home.
Tumblr media
1. A Burst of Color in the Office
The typical office environment can sometimes feel monotonous, with its endless stacks of white paper and black pens. Introducing colored binder clips is a simple yet effective way to bring some cheer to your workspace. Here's how you can make the most of them:
Color-Coding Documents: Assign different colors to various types of documents. For instance, use blue clips for financial papers, red for urgent tasks, green for completed projects, and yellow for items that need review. This visual cue can save you time and reduce the stress of sifting through piles of paperwork.
Priority Management: Use colored clips to prioritize your to-do list. A red clip might indicate high-priority tasks that need immediate attention, while green could signify less urgent work. This method helps you focus on what’s most important without constantly checking your list.
Personal Touch: Personalizing your workspace with bright, colorful clips can boost your mood and make your desk feel more inviting. It’s a small change that can have a big impact on your workday.
2. Home Organization Hacks
Colored binder clips aren’t just for the office. They can be incredibly useful around the house as well. Here are some creative ways to utilize them:
Kitchen Helper: Use binder clips to keep your snack bags sealed and fresh. Assign different colors to various family members so everyone knows which snacks are theirs. You can also use them to organize your spice packets or recipe cards.
Cable Management: Tired of the tangled mess of charging cables? Use binder clips to keep them organized and untangled. Assign a different color to each device’s cable for easy identification.
Mail Sorting: Create a mini mail station by using colored clips to sort incoming mail. Red clips for bills, blue for personal letters, and green for advertisements or catalogs. This system helps you stay on top of your correspondence without feeling overwhelmed.
3. School Supplies with Style
For students, staying organized is crucial for success. Colored binder clips can make this task easier and more fun:
Classwork Organization: Use different colored clips for each subject. This way, your math homework doesn’t get mixed up with your history notes. It’s a simple trick that can save time and reduce stress during study sessions.
Binder Enhancement: Decorate your binders with colorful clips to add some personality. It can make your school supplies stand out and might even make studying a bit more enjoyable.
Project Management: When working on group projects, use colored clips to designate each team member's contributions. This visual distinction can help keep the project organized and ensure everyone is on the same page.
4. Travel Companion
Colored binder clips are also great for travel. They are compact, lightweight, and incredibly versatile:
Travel Documents: Keep your travel documents, such as tickets, passports, and itineraries, clipped together with a brightly colored clip. It makes them easy to spot in your bag and ensures you don’t misplace any important papers.
Money Organizer: Use different colored clips to separate your cash into categories like food, souvenirs, and transportation. This method helps you stick to your budget and keeps your money organized.
Accessory Holder: Prevent your necklaces from tangling by clipping each one to a binder clip. It’s a simple solution that protects your jewelry while you’re on the go.
5. DIY and Craft Projects
For the creatively inclined, colored binder clips are a dream. They can be used in a variety of DIY projects:
Photo Display: Create a unique photo display by attaching your favorite pictures to a string with colorful binder clips. It’s an easy and affordable way to personalize your space.
Art Supplies: Keep your drawing or painting materials organized with different colored clips. This method is particularly useful for separating different types of paper or organizing your paintbrushes.
Gift Wrapping: Add a personal touch to your gifts by using colored binder clips instead of traditional ribbon. It’s a quirky and modern twist that can make your presents stand out.

Ten Things You Need to Make Sure You Don't Forget When Moving!
Relocating can be a scary experience, and in the whirlwind of this overwhelming situation, it's easy to forget about important responsibilities. Therefore, all you need to do to ensure that a similar circumstance does not occur to you and that you smoothly navigate your house moving journey is to make a timely reservation with the professionals packers and movers. Once you have done this, you can return to the core of your move, which is the three Ps—planning, preparation, and packing—to ensure that nothing essential is left out of your plan or is left unattended.
Tumblr media
When you give a glance at the things we recorded underneath, you can direct your move somewhat more easily. That can be guaranteed by us! Therefore, without further ado, let's take a look:
• To be in possession of the necessary documents: If you are making last-minute preparations for your move, there is always the possibility that you will forget to collect or provide your essential documents from the bank or office. Therefore, ensure that you gather everything promptly and prepare a folder specifically for the task. Having a document binder is very important because it will keep all of the important papers, like your contract, proof of identity, car papers, insurance and health certificates, license, passport, and so on. set up.
• To assess the requirements for storage: Most of the time, when we are preparing our belongings for the move and already juggling a lot of other responsibilities, we should also assess the belongings that require a storage facility. In an ideal world, these would be all of your possessions, accessories, and artifacts. There could be a few justifications for why one picks a capacity unit and in the event that you need it to, ensure you track down an optimal organization for the equivalent.
• To return everything borrowed: When we move homes, we should only pack and move our own belongings, not anything that doesn't even belong to us. Therefore, if you have ever given something to a friend or coworker as a gift or if you have ever borrowed something from a neighbor, make sure you keep that information. Return what other people have loaned you. This is not just bad behavior; it must be done consistently.
• To get back clothing garments - This is one of the most frequently failed to remember things when somebody intends to move homes. This is due to our propensity to forget things that we do not encounter frequently. Do you recall the saying, "Out of sight, out of mind?" We don't remember picking up our bedding or clothes from the dry cleaners because of this, which also perfectly fits in here. Take a note of the drill now that you know it.
• To acquire a useful toolkit: While the terms "essentials bag" and "necessities kit" appear on every checklist, there isn't much about the toolkit that can also protect you from certain mishaps while traveling. It is critical to keep the essential gear accessible even if nothing like that occurs. Safety scissors, heavy-duty packaging tape, plastic wrap, additional sandwich pouches, permanent markers, and other items can be included in your toolkit.
• To purchase a medical kit: If you think that just carrying the medicines you and your family need will suffice, think again. No one can really tell what you may be needing except if you go over a crisis. If you have children, you need to be more prepared and take the necessary actions. In order to ensure that your children have a pleasant moving experience, make sure you have all of the medications, prescriptions, and comforters they are accustomed to. If you need help, talk to your doctor, and don't forget to hire Agarwal Packers and Movers.
• To get your beloved plants ready: People moving need to take better care of their plants in the nursery. They are frequently overlooked and not even thought about moving. However, if you hire a reputable moving company that focuses on pet and nursery moves, you will be able to transport them in the best possible condition. However, check to see that the plants have been properly prepared and that any that appear to be weedy have been trimmed, cleaned, and moved.
• Don't make arrangements for pets—Even though this and the one before it are not things that people can easily forget to do, there are times when they don't have time to get their pets ready for the move. Our pets, like humans, require constant care—they must be taken to the veterinarian, vaccinated, and given medication if they experience discomfort during a lengthy journey. Also very important is making a kit for your pet so you can get the things you need quickly.
• Not protecting the pretty things: You don't have to worry about your belongings' safety if you hire moving professionals. They will deal with all of that with the best pressing help and required pressing and moving instruments. However, you should first clearly list everything in your moving inventory to avoid losing track of it. Because they appear to be already there, embedded on the walls and ceiling of our room, we frequently forget to remove the décor items and other household accessories from our space. Therefore, you should either undo them yourself or ask moving professionals for assistance.
• Avoiding difficult-to-reach areas: Before the moving professionals arrive at our location to begin packing, there is some preparation required. That is the point at which you give your very best - destroying stuff, eliminating objects from their laid out places, and so forth. Make sure you check the basement, storeroom, and other complicated areas of our house before you finally move out for good. We don't do that.
Tumblr media
Therefore, the next time you move, pay close attention to the aforementioned advice and enlist the help of professionals movers and packers for a stress-free move!

Points to note for your upcoming move!
Relocating to a new city or state can be extremely hectic and stressing. Moving to a new country can even be more anxious but thankfully it can be managed with proper assistance from Agarwal Packers who are the giants in packing and moving domain and proper planning along with the checklists. This will let you enjoy your moving experience to the fullest.
Tumblr media
However, to make sure that things go well, you must start pre-planning month-wise, and when the moving date comes near then planning things week-wise will make the whole process better. Relocation can be done in three effective steps: planning, sorting, and packing. Today in this post we are going to discuss the steps in detail:
Amazing moving tips to make your relocation a successful affair-
So, here it goes:
• Planning is the key and nothing could be carried out properly without an effective plan so start planning it at least 1 month before. To plan it considers the tricks given below:
• If you are residing in a rented apartment then you need to give notice to the landlord in advance for sure. Thus, prepare and send the notice to your apartment’s owner.
• Do you have children? If yes then have you found a school for them at the place where you are planning to get settled? You must start searching for the same as soon as possible.
• Will you be packing your stuff on your own or it will be done by an expert? Decide this essential thing in advance; if you want to get it done with the help of a moving professional then you must start searching for them.
• Do you know if your new house will be well furnished or not? If not have you decided on the furniture and appliances that you would like to carry along? Make sure you get the articles sorted as soon as you are sure about your moving plan?
• Have you planned what you will be doing with the extra stuff that will be left behind? Where you will be donating or selling it? Get these details updated and get rid of the junk quickly.
• Which utilities such as gas, water, electricity, internet, etc you would like to cancel or get transferred to your new place? Decide this once your moving date is finalized and inform the same to the service providers.
• Are there any refunds or pending payments left? If yes, settle them soon.
• Do you have any subscriptions that won’t be continued at your new place? Cancel or renew them.
• When will you be sending the information about your home relocation along with the new address to the important places?
• Is there any need to hire movers and packers or you can deal with the process personally?
• Have you prepared a binder to safely place your essential documents in one place? How you will be carrying them together?
• Did you pack your ornaments safely? Don’t forget to pack them in a separate bag that you will be carrying along with you on the whole journey?
• If this is not your official move, did you inform about the change at your office?
These are the important tasks indulged while pre-planning a move. Make sure they do not impact the whole process and you complete them at the right time.
Tips to declutter before moving – when it comes to packing, nothing can be more important than decluttering. If you avoid this essential step you may end up carrying a lot of extra items to your new house. You will have to pay extra to the movers also for the boxes that these extra articles occupied.
Cleaning up the stuff ahead of the move is a good way to save your effort and money which you can spend in setting up your new house later.
Here are a few steps that will help you to sort the stuff:
• Start from the living room and look at the furniture and other articles and check which one will work best at your new house.
• If your current furniture will not be adjusted at your new home then make sure you find the suitable furniture soon and start looking for the people who can buy you old stuff.
• Now, your kitchen’s turn, see what appliances do you use frequently and separate the ones that you don’t use anymore.
• Check your cupboard and sort out the clothes that no longer fit you. Donate the ones that do not serve your purpose anymore. The same goes for shoes and accessories too.
• If you have children and they are grown up, then it is the time to donate their old toys, clothes, shoes, and stuff as well. There is no point in taking them along, it will increase the cost and lessen the space at your new place.
Tips on packing before you move
These packing tips will help you out to get settled in your new apartment without hassles. Here are some important moving tips and checklist that you must prepare at least a month before:
• Get the boxes and start packing, create a list of the contents contained in each box, and paste it on the relevant box. This will help you to easily know the types of articles present in every box.
• Start putting non-essential items in a separate box such as out of the season clothes, old toys, appliances, etc.
• Try to pack the items of each family member differently. This will help you to sort the stuff more efficiently once you reach and unpack your things at the destination.
• Create a list of the things needed by each of your family members and take a separate bag to keep those things in one place.
Tumblr media
Availing Agarwal packers and movers services will definitely make sure that all your stuff is properly packed and moved to your new house. I hope these points will help you in the best way possible.
Have a happy move!!

How I've Used My iPad to Boost Productivity
25 September 2022
A recent trend for students in high school and college is to buy new technology, such as new computers or tablets, to help them be better students. There are many benefits to using new technology, especially with the way that current technology is constantly getting better. It's been a couple months but I did end up going with the trend of getting a new iPad to use for school back in May of this year.
1. Textbook Notes
My textbook notes have gotten better over the past couple of months as I am now able to easily switch back and forth between the textbook I'm using and the notebook I'm writing in. Before I got my tablet, I was constantly confused about where I was in the textbook when I closed it and when I looked back after taking a single note from the actual textbook. With the tablet, I am able to automatically open my textbook to the page that I was last looking at, as well as mark exactly where I was in the reading before I either stopped reading or moved to take notes on what I just read.
Another benefit is that I am able to easily copy images between my textbook and my notes due to screenshots. I take the screenshot immediately from my textbook and format my notes around the screenshot instead of just making a random space that may or may not be able to fit a clear picture of the image from the textbook or a drawing of the picture that will probably just confuse me more.
2. Consolidation
One thing that my program in school has shown me that is important is that you need to be able to get to everything that you need as quickly as you can. This used to be a binder for me, but that took up a lot of space in my bags, was extremely heavy, and just wasn't that useful as classes started doing more things online.
My tablet has allowed me to put all of the information I have from a class into one singular place, whether it be an app, a digital folder, or just on the main screen of the tablet. I am able to find everything that I need in just a few taps rather than shuffling around randomly in a binder, folder, or book bag.
3. Documents
With my iPad, I have been able to take all of the documents that my teachers have given me online and actually use them. I am able to easily take the documents they gave me, download them, and annotate them as they go over the document in class, as opposed to when the teacher would just show us the document and talk about it, leaving the students to take weird notes about the document in general rather than the specific things that the teacher points out in class.
It also allows me to turn all of the paper documents into digital documents so that they can all be easily annotated and kept in the same place.
I am just trying to share my experience with getting a new iPad. I am not trying to tell you that you should absolutely no matter what get a tablet to help out with school or that getting this tablet is going to completely solve your problems as a procrastinator, but it has helped me a lot on getting to the path that I want to be on.
If you have an iPad, let me know how your tablet has helped you and how you use it to help you. And if you don't, let me know what kinds of things you do in your life that kind of match what I mentioned above.
I love hearing from you guys and I can't wait to see you guys achieve everything you want.

Every time it happens you wanna scream, you wanna take your anger out on her. She makes you feel emotionally unstable you've threatened to expose her but she has more dirt on you than you do on her you are afraid to live. The bell rings dismissing everyone to leave you to get up but your friend grabs your wrist tightly the evil smile on her face knowing she's gonna do something bad to you, she lets go of your wrist grabbing her textbook off the desk, and slapping you against the face with it.
The impact making your face stinging she continues slapping you with it before the last time she slams it on your head hard, making you stumble back into a desk. “Pay attention next time when I'm talking to you”. Tears flow out of your eyes from the injuries your sobbing like a little baby on the floor what did you do to deserve it? Why is she so cruel towards you? You apologize between your broken cries she groans out at your pathetic appearance but thrives to see you in pain, in every way.
Putting the textbook back into her backpack zipping it she puts it on her back, before glaring at you trying to get up only to fall over again. You grab onto the edge of the desk getting back up balancing your weight on both feet grabbing your notes and putting them neatly into your binder. Setting it in your backpack looking at the textbook you were just beaten with made you strive but you grabbed it looking at her she quirked a brow at you. Gripping the textbook tightly you threw it at her striking her right in the face she flew backward knocking over a few desks crashing into them.
At the moment you felt a sense of power you walked over to her, hovering over her she looked pissed but you didn't care, leaving the dumb textbook there. Walking back to your desk and grabbing your backpack walking through the desk and heading outside the door you heard her screaming and yelling at you, ignoring her constant threats and rambling slamming the classroom door shut.
You haven't seen her since....
She stopped showing up to class until was sick you didn't care but the sickness looked so serve. You wanted her to suffer, have her feel all the pain you went through. You had the best idea ever and pulled your out looking to check when the Library closed, you had 2 hours of class left. Putting your phone back into your bag you pulled up your document finishing it up.
Typing your last sentence you finished it off by putting it in the folder and sending it off to your teacher, closing your computer. You had only two minutes till the bell rings, grabbing your phone again, unlocking it you began typing in the library website. Looking through the many books you checked to see if the book was still there, it read “available” putting an order in to go pick up the book you texted the person.
The bell ring standing up you shook aggressively thinking about how your “friend” beat you with the book, picking it up off your desk. Sliding it into your backpack you made your way through the crowds and people rushing to the exit. You didn't blame them It sucks here but you need the education. Walking down the entrance making your way down to stairs you navigated your way to the library, walking down the sidewalks the pretty signs, and scenery from different stores and shops.
Stopping in front of the library opening the door and stepping inside there are people at every table reading, studying, or just sitting there hanging out. Walking up to the counter you show her your ticket number she nods before heading to a cart and grabbing it off there she scans the book putting it down and pushing it forward towards me. You thank her as you grab the book and make your way out of the library making your way to your home, it was late so you sped up a lot trying to make it home safely, knocking on the door your roommate opened the door letting you in.
Taking your shoes off, making your way to the kitchen you began washing your hands while your roommate is cooking dinner. “How was your day today” “it was good “ you respond to her question. She walks over to you holding your cheeks in her hands “is your face better?” the incident leaving a big bruise on your eye you lied saying you crashed into the wall knowing damn well you're not that clumsy but it was only a lie in your mind at the moment.
Putting the book and your backpack on the floor near the couch, you sigh out heading back to her when she calls your name.
“It still hurts but I'll manage” you quickly say, flinching when she raises her hand to pat your head. “I’II get you some ice, go shower” you nod quickly disappearing into the halls. You open the door stripping out of your clothes and putting them into a dirty clothes bin turning on the shower you step inside closing the shower door. Washing your body and hair humming as you are glad you get a break from the abusive bitch, you'll make she's gone for sure even if you have to kill her yourself.
Stepping out of the shower you grab a towel off the rack and securely wrap it across your body, walking out the bathroom to your room closing it's nice and chilly in your room just how you like it, getting dressed was harder than normal you kept getting distracted. Your roommate calls you for dinner making your way back to the kitchen you sit down looking at your food you both bless it before eating “It's so good like always” she chuckles at the compliment “Oh it was nothing just something I threw together “.
You two chat at the dinner table place your dirty dishes in the sink after eating, running water, and put soap into the sink grabbing the bleach from under the cabinet drizzling a tad bit in. Washing the dishes while Ren is in the living room reading manga. Scrubbing the dishes down a couple of times making sure they clean you put them on the drying rack, draining the water, and washing your hands once again.
Grabbing the book off the table you look at her smiling “I'm heading to bed early” she nods and continues reading, slamming your door closed making her jump slightly. You put the book down walking to your closet grabbing candles and setting them down taking pink chalk and drawing on the floor. Lighting the blue candles up you wanna connect with the underworld you need someone whos experienced hell to help you make someone's life horrible. Setting them down in a certain order you missing one more item laying a necklace in the middle you opened the door to see all the lights which are perfect meaning your roommate is sleeping.
Opening the book you flip through the book to find her “Kuina Hikari” running your finger over the blue candle the flame glazing your finger you press it on the words, chanting them over and over you see a spark that turns into an explosion sending you flying into the wall. You shouldn't have been so close to it that's your fault lifting your body there she stands the candles are purple, she holds the necklace “you summoned me?” you bow to her “I need help with revenge on someone”
She smiles and giggles “It’II cost you..your humanity simply devoting your whole life to me.
You gulp at her word your whole life?! you have so much to live for but this is the one chance to get the best revenge on her “okay.” She was shocked holding her hand out you shake her hand her temperature burning your body a caterpillar mark is on your hand “is this some sort of marking”. She boops your nose “yep”
“If you need me just say my name” and with that, she disappears the markings and everything is gone but the mark on your hand is still there. Your roommate bursts through the door “Are you okay?!” you look up at her and give a weak “yep” she nods again apologizing for not knocking and closing the door. You decide to get some sleep crawling in your bed and letting the thought of Kuina and darkness consume you.
♡︎♡︎♡︎.
Your alarm keeps going off you slam it off the little nightstand but you hear a gentle telling you wake up, eyes fluttering open to meet Kuina you sit up and yawn greeting her a good morning she greets you back. Interesting how’s shes dead but stills has a good sense of fashion why is that on your mind right now who knows your still tired. “I’m going back to sleep..” falling back into bed balling in your covers and letting soft snores leave your lip
It’s Saturday you shouldn’t have to get up right now but Kuina pulls the covers off you making you shiver from the coldness of your room . “We have work to do” You get and walk to bathroom turning the sink on and grabbing toothbrush, brushing your teeth while Kuina goes over a plan that could ruin your friends life forever. Little do you know you’ll be trapped forever with her
Getting through the basics of the morning you and Kuina sit on the bed your roommate already left hours ago so you didn’t care. She pulls a needle out of nowhere telling you, you could get her accidental pregnant by poking holes into a condom which is a brilliant idea you always wanted to do it but you want to suffer more than that. You begin telling Kuina on how high you want her to suffer and she understands having the perfect plan melted into her brain on how it would work it out and if it failed they just kill her.
You open your phone texting your friend about hanging out which of course she says yes giving you a sob story about the other day which you only respond with “k“ knowing that that'll piss her off. Grabbing a notebook off your desk you begin scribbling down every sin she's ever made Kuina is surprised at how Karma hadn't caught up with her yet but today was the day it does. “Basically, we have to sabotage what condom she's using and getting her embarrassed all over social media till death “ you nod at it knowing Mik she'll break down in a heartbeat.
Your definitely going to hell but that's not important right now! After getting details this afternoon you will meet at a cafe all you have to do is pour lative in her drink when she leaves her wallet to take it and poke as many holes as you can in the condom and then boom. This seems like a good plan you just need to be on your acting skills you can't manipulate the manipulator....right?
“She’ll suffer just like you had to...”

Gaps in His Files (Part 1) [Relabeled; Refiled Series]
Fandom: Sanders Sides
Relationships: Logan/Patton
Characters:
Main: Logan, Patton
Appear: Remy
Summary:
Logan Berry has learned many things the last 10 years: a lot of math and physics, a bit of humility, and how to be a hero being just a few. Through his education, his experience teaching, and his exploits as the superhero Bluebird, he’s changed in a lot of small and large ways. He has recorded these changes in well-organized documents and files. He’s even had to create two new file designations: a red one for files about his moonlighting at Bluebird, and a light blue one dedicated to his boyfriend, Patton.
When Bluebird is targeted by a memory device and all of those 10 years of progress suddenly disappear, Patton Sanders and Logan’s extensive files are left as his only resource to get those memories back. But what is Patton supposed to do when there are clear gaps in his files? And what does he do when he is one of them?
This is set 25 years before Sometimes Labels Fail though it’s story is completely independent of it and it is not necessary to read that one first.
Notes: Superhero AU, memory loss, past child abuse, past child neglect, unhealthy ideas about ones place in relationships, emotional suppression, self-deprecating thoughts
There are a few background stories for Logan and Patton’s relationship that are also unnecessary to read, but expand their backstory a bit. They can be read before or after this story. Coffee Shop Meet Cute and Coffee Shop Incident Report deal with their first meeting, The Things We Never Mentioned talks about how Patton figured out Logan was bluebird, and Logan’s 25 Step Plan to Ask a Boy Out is how they started dating.
Logan woke slightly colder than he should have been with a presence in his bed that had not been there when he’d fallen asleep. He squinted at said presence in the dim light of his bedroom. “You are a blanket thief,” he informed the sleeping form as he carefully brushed a bit of hair out of his face. He stirred a bit, pressing back against the touch with a soft sound. Logan glanced over at his bedside table and quickly reached over to turn off the alarm that was set to go off in 4 minutes. Then, he turned his attention back to the bed invader.
“Patton,” he called softly, leaning forward to brush a soft kiss across his brow. He puffed out a breath in response and shuffled closer, still mostly asleep. Logan smiled. He appreciated Patton in any state, but sleepy Patton held a special place in his heart. He started peppering kisses down his cheek to his jaw causing his nose to twitch as he started to stir. “Good morning dear.”
“Uhm nuh humba na ha.”
“Ah yes,” Logan replied seriously, “a compelling argument.”
He was still not quite in the waking world, but he was conscious enough to recognize the mocking. He whined and slapped Logan’s shoulder softly. Logan took that as a cue to roll on top of him and lean forward to kiss his neck.
“No,” he whined and wiggled. “Annoying.”
“Annoying huh?” Logan asked into his neck. “Big words for someone guilty of breaking and entering.”
“No breaking,” Patton complained, “I have a key!”
Logan hummed in response. “When did you get here?”
“About 4am,” he mumbled.
“Hmm,” Logan said and gave him a slow kiss on the lips. “I’ll close the curtains when I get up.”
Patton’s legs wrapped around his waist and he yawned. “Thanks.”
“I am going to have to get up pretty soon dear,” Logan pointed out.
“No,” Patton whined, “snuggles.”
“I think my students may not be happy if I do that,” he said.
Patton snorted. “They would too.”
“Well, at least my supervising professor wouldn’t be happy.”
Patton just grumbled and snaked his arms around Logan’s neck before pulling him down for another long kiss.
It took much effort for Logan to pull himself back. “This is entirely unfair,” he said, fingers tracing patterns over his cheeks. “You are far too adorable to resist.”
Patton giggled which was even more unfair and Logan surged forward for another kiss, though it was a quicker peck this time.
“And yet you resist me,” Patton said when he drew back again, a finger tracing his brow.
“Duty calls,” he responded.
“Yeah,” he replied softly.
“I love you,” Logan said. The hand on Logan’s shoulder clenched into the fabric of his shirt.
“I love you too,” he said, a bit of a shake to his voice before lunging forward to kiss him thoroughly once again. Logan was breathless by the time they finally drew apart.
“I do have to go now,” he said regretfully.
“Yeah, I know,” he said, and released his grip on Logan’s shoulder.
Logan regretfully pulled himself from the warmth that was Patton and stood. He went to his window and pulled the curtain to darken the room before going to his closet. The suit he’d picked up from the store yesterday was front and center, and he touched the outside of the white plastic covering it with a soft smile. Then he grabbed his outfit for the day. When he turned back around, Patton had already closed his eyes and curled himself around an extra pillow. Logan paused and leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek before going to change and get ready in the bathroom.
Once he was dressed, he entered his kitchen and his eyes immediately found the note on his countertop. Don’t forget to eat breakfast! :) <3 was scribbled in Patton’s messy scrawl on one of Logan’s sticky notes. Logan puffed out a laugh and went over to start the coffee machine. He reached for his coffee cup and caught sight of another sticky note inside it. Don’t ignore me. >:( it read. Logan shook his head and went about organizing his school supplies in his bag. He pulled out his planner to check his schedule for the day and another note fell out. Logan…
“Fine, fine,” Logan said aloud and walked over to his cabinet to grab the loaf of bread there. A note was taped to the top. Thankyou! <3<3. “Absolutely incorrigible,” he said fondly. He gathered up that note as well as the other three while he waited for the bread to toast and stuck them in his pocket. He spread peanut butter on his toast and poured himself a cup of coffee before taking his breakfast and his planner into the extra bedroom he’d converted into an office.
There was a pen sitting on his desk out of place and Logan bit his tongue in agitation, picking it up and sitting down on his chair. He took a bite of his toast and opened his planner to his to do list for the week. The calendar next to it had his class schedule in black pen, his personal appointments in green, and his study schedule in dark blue ink. His Saturday had been blocked off from 3pm to 11pm with a lighter blue inked pen. He went to check off one of the tasks he’d finished last night, and nothing happened.
“I’m going to kill him,” he told the empty room before rolling his chair over to the trashcan to throw out the empty pen. It clinked against the two already in the trashcan. He swore Patton had the latent superpower to summon inkless pens and the more time he spent at Logan’s apartment, the more accumulated despite Logan’s best efforts. It was a source of endless torment for Logan but still a small price to pay for his boyfriend’s presence.
Once he’d grabbed a functioning pen from its place in his pen holder and finished editing his weekly task list (Though there were a few important exclusions in this week’s list in fear of prying eyes. He would have to remember to call the photographers to confirm between his first and second class without a note to remind himself.), he reached into his pocket for this morning’s notes. He glanced up at a spot on the far wall that was too high for him and, more importantly, Patton to reach without buying a ladder. Well, at least, it would be too high for Logan except for one important fact. He flicked his finger and a small hidden door slid up. The contents of the secret compartment shot into his hand with barely a mental nudge.
He opened his desk and found the stack of different colored paper he kept there. He flipped past the dark blue and red to get to the pieces of light blue paper in the exact shade of the cover of the binder he held in his hand. He selected one of those pages and used the hole puncher on his desk to prepare it to go into the binder before he carefully arranged the notes from Patton on it in chronological order. Then, he pinned each of them down with pieces of tap and wrote himself quick notes next to each to remind himself of where he’d found them. Once finished, he turned to the binder. He touched the cover with a large amount of fondness and a bit of mortification because honestly, he couldn’t believe he was still doing this.
He’d started taking notes on Patton the moment they’d met in a coffee shop over three years ago. Later he would learn that Patton had just gotten off of a long shift at the hospital and was utterly exhausted, but all Logan had known at the time was that a strange man bumped into him and would have spilled an entire cup of hot coffee on him if it hadn’t been for Logan’s own quick reflexes. Unfortunately, those quick reflexes had not been of the physical variety; he had accidently used his powers to stop the cup and its contents in midair. He’d turned wide eyes to the stranger, dreading a reaction. There weren’t exactly many supers with telekinesis who lived in the state after all, but he’d just said “good catch” as though he hadn’t noticed Logan’s attempts to ruin his own secret identity. Logan hadn’t known whether or not to believe him when he acted as though he’d seen nothing, worried about who this man could be and what he could be planning. (Patton would later tell him that Logan probably could have floated into the coffee shop upside down and kicked Patton in his face, and he wouldn’t have noticed that day.) So, he’d written up an incident report for his red files with all the details he could remember and then resolved to keep an eye on the man in case he was lying and plotting to take action against Logan (he hadn’t been). And well, he had certainly ended up keeping an eye on Patton.
Later the binder had become a cumulation of frankly embarrassing records of his crush along with a failed list of steps to get a date (failed because while executing the third step, Patton had asked him out.) Then, once they’d started dating, it had been a sort of crutch, filled with hypothesizes and observations about Patton as though he were some sort of science experiment. Logan had never had any type of romantic relationship before (barring the two embarrassing incidents where his parents attempted to set him up with dates for school dances). He’d vowed when he first put on a mask that he would never date anyone who did not already know his superhero identity. The nice Catch-22 was that Logan had never told anyone that he was Bluebird. Then Patton barreled his way into his life with no regard for Logan’s emotional walls. Logan had been going in blind and the binder had been his way of dealing with the confusing, though wonderful, feelings.
He was better now, more settled, and more comfortable with the peculiarities of sharing so much of your life with another person. Now he only really referred to the binder for specific, important events. Other than that, it was used more like a scrapbook anymore. Logan had trouble throwing away things Patton gave him.
He flipped to the correct section of the binder and placed the page with this morning’s notes in it. His finger traced the smiley face and heart on the first one. Then, he flipped to the back of the binder briefly, tapped the baggy hanging there with his finger, just to double check, before closing the binder and replacing it back in the hidden compartment with his powers.
He drank the rest of his coffee and packed his bag before leaving to get to his 8:30 am class on time. It was Tuesday now. One more normal day today and three more after that.

Breathe in the Salt - Chapter Twelve
AO3
Beta reading by @thesnadger! Go read her things, like this time travel au!
Options are considered.
Tim has a rough time.
Shit. The lights were still on.
The small, illuminated window of the front door had stopped Martin in his tracks. Why had he come here? Certainly, talking to Jon about what had happened was something he should do, but that hadn’t been on his mind at all.
No, he knew the reason. He berated himself on Tim’s behalf.
Martin looked about, his eye catching the railing that blocked off the cliff. It was as good a spot as any for moping. He.made his way over to it and leaned his elbows on the flat top of the railing, careful to keep his eyes toward the dark horizon instead of the thrashing sea below.
Stupid. He had been lucky they were late workers. They’d unknowingly stopped him from throwing himself at some voice-stealing horror. What had he been thinking? That he would figure things out on his own? As if he could fix everything by running straight toward the danger and- and what?
Well, he certainly wouldn’t be doing anything that night. “Just be patient,” he muttered, rubbing his eyes. “It’s gonna be fine.”
“Y’know, you’re taking this whole process a lot harder than I’d expected.”
Martin jumped, gripping the railing with white knuckles. Sasha walked up and leaned against the railing to his left, tilting her head to look at his face. He stammered out, “When-”
“I’d come out to grab something from the car and stretch my legs a bit. You didn’t hear me walk over?” She raised an eyebrow at his tense state.
“I… Yeah. No, I mean I didn’t hear you. Sorry.” His voice came out more raw than he’d expected, and he cleared his throat. “Would’ve appreciated more of a warning, though?”
She smirked. “Noted. Though I wasn’t exactly trying to sneak up on you. Sounds to me like you were talking a bit too loudly to yourself.”
“Oh.” Well, he supposed that was a reason to stop talking to himself outside the lighthouse as well. What a week for learning embarrassing things about himself.
“So, Martin. Were you just planning to run upstairs for a quick chat?”
Martin tried to respond, but she didn’t give him an opening. “Clearly you didn’t come up here to talk to us.” She looked out across the sea, letting her smile falter. “I respect how much you want to figure this all out, but Tim definitely won’t be happy.”
Martin flinched. “No, you’ve got it wrong. I hadn’t even been thinking about it when I walked back up here, and once I saw you all were still working, I figured I’d leave you be.” He paused, then added, “And Tim really doesn’t need to know I was out here. He’d just get the wrong impression.”
With a curt laugh, Sasha readjusted herself onto both elbows. “I suppose he doesn’t. I wouldn’t let this happen again, though, if I were you.” A moment passed as she stretched her fingers. “What brought you up here, then?”
“I mean- that’s sort of personal.” Martin leaned away to get a better look at her, but her expression was unreadable in the dim light.
“Unless you have reason to believe the lighthouse compelled you, I have to assume there was some other reason you wandered up here, especially with that newly-soaked jacket sleeve?”
He laughed nervously. “Oh! Oh, I just tripped on the way, and with all the puddles-”
She cut him off. “Please don’t try that with me. It wasn’t a terrible deflection, but if you think I’m going to take a ‘personal reasons’ defense for you returning to your dangerous place of work past sundown when we might not be here-”
He held his hands out in front of him defensively. “It’s not like that! I just needed some air, and-.”
“And then you came here after a rather nasty fall.” When she saw Martin’s bewildered expression, she tapped a finger to her temple.
Lifting his hand, Martin lightly touched his own forehead and found a slightly raised lump just under his bangs that stung with the contact.
Sasha sighed. “I don’t want half-truths, which you seem to enjoy giving. Just tell me what happened.” She crossed her arms. “I want to understand what’s going on, same as you, but if you don’t trust us, we can’t trust you to make safe decisions.”
Martin scoffed. “Sure, yeah, like you all make ‘safe’ decisions.”
For a minute or so, they stood in silence against the rail and looked across the water. Turned away from the lighthouse that peered over their shoulders, Sasha’s features were obscured. She seemed to be waiting patiently. He took the offered time to think.
She wouldn’t need to know all the particulars of why he’d left home. Getting defensive when she had no reason to suspect anything other than the very real weirdness of the night was just digging him into an unnecessary hole.
“I wanted to get some time out of the house for myself.” Yes, that should be enough for that bit. “When I got up top, I looked at the lighthouse without thinking and I blacked out. Maybe part of me thought I could figure things out by coming here, instead of sitting around doing nothing.”
He took in a shaky breath. “But I’m not trying anything tonight, obviously. I wasn’t thinking straight, that’s all.”
With this, some tension left her face. “I don’t doubt it considering the bump on your head, though coming here without thinking is concerning in and of itself. Did anything about tonight’s blackout seem different from what you’ve experienced recently?”
He nodded. “The vertigo, it usually just... happens. I look at the lighthouse, or down from its weird window, or sometimes just down the hill, and it hits like a brick. Tonight, though…” he swallowed, but the dryness made it an effort. “I saw something. A huge, black pit right behind me, like it was always there.”
There was a wobble to his voice, but if Sasha noticed, she didn’t react. “And when did the vertigo hit?”
“I’m not sure? It happened so fast, it was like the sky was pushing me into it. I think... it was when I finally looked down into the pit that the feeling came.” Martin twiddled his thumbs. “Then I came to, and the pit was gone.”
“Hm.” Sasha tapped on the railing and looked at him. “Has anything changed for you between this incident and the ones earlier this week?”
“No. I don’t think so.” The lie felt bad going down, but there was no helping it. “I was stressed about everything going on, I suppose. Thinking about upstairs.”
She seemed to accept this with a nod. “That could do it. Stress works well with a lot of phenomena. If you think of anything else, let us know. Tim has been trying to keep track of his experiences, but I think it’s hard for him to keep his thoughts straight about it.” Her brows crinkled with concern.
Martin frowned. “There was a moment on the stairs where he wasn’t doing well.”
She sighed. “Yeah, it’s been a rough week for him. Luckily, he’s not one to hide this sort of thing when he doesn’t have to.” That would’ve felt pointed if she didn’t seem so genuinely worried. “Not that he never does. Everyone has personal business. But he knows that right now it’s best to be up front about any issues, because it means we can try to solve the problem.’
She purposefully locked eyes with him. “You get that, right? We all want this to be settled so everyone can be okay, and that means honesty.”
She could tell he was hiding something. Or she was just throwing whatever at the wall just in case he was lying. Or she was just concerned about Tim and himself?
Shit, he wasn’t in a place to figure out what anyone was thinking. “I know. It’s important to have all of the facts. That’s why we’re waiting for the phone call, right?”
“Yep.” Sasha tucked some loose hair behind her ear. “Tim said he’d talked to you upstairs, about what the thing probably is.”
Martin huffed in frustration. “I know, but I’d still rather do something. He- they begged me to help. I know it was my own voice, but-”
Her hand landed gently on his shoulder. “But it felt like a person?”
Another hard swallow. “Yeah.”
Sasha tapped on the railing again, then looked back at her car. “I should go get the thing I came out here for. You should come inside, too, to tell the others what happened. Maybe they’ll have some insights.” She offered him a half smile, and as she turned more toward the light, Martin could see the bags under her eyes. “Honestly, it’ll be a welcome excuse for all of us to stop going over historical documents and our own bad handwriting.”
“Not super successful, then?”
She smiled with more than a hint of pain. “More like success is hard to track in these circumstances.”
Once Sasha had grabbed a file folder from her car, they walked back into the lighthouse. Martin kept his eyes down, unwilling to look at Tim or Jon for very different reasons.
“Look who showed up with some new info regarding magical nausea.” Sasha took a seat at the table next to Tim.
“Great!” Tim said, closing a binder with a decisive snap that made Martin’s head shoot up in surprise. “Love to learn more about terrifying phenomena that affect me in unpleasant ways-Oh, wow. That’s a nasty one you’ve got.”
Martin set his slightly damp jacket on the back of his chair and sat next to Jon without making eye contact. There was no chance Jon wasn’t connecting some dots about his reappearance, and even if Tim and Sasha weren’t present, Martin had no desire to discuss anything related to selkies for a long, long while.
--
“That’s certainly… something,” Jon said, once Martin had completed a more thorough retelling of his fall. “Does that sound anything like what you’ve experienced, Tim?”
Tim seemed to contemplate this. “I haven’t had it bad enough to pass out, and a big hole in the ground doesn’t ring a bell. It doesn’t feel wrong, though.”
“How so?” Sasha asked. She had her elbow on the table and leaned her head against a closed fist.
“I mean, when I’m walking up those stairs, it’s hard not to feel like you’re about to fall into something. That’s where vertigo usually happens, right? On the edge of a big drop, like the one outside.”
Jon looked up at Tim, then back down at his pad. “Yes, though it can also be caused by an issue of the inner ear, a cause we shouldn’t throw out just yet.”
Tim snorted. “My ears are fine, thank you very much.”
This earned him a pull on the ear lobe from Sasha. After he grunted with some dramatics, she said, “Yep, seems fine to me. I wonder, Martin, if the change was brought on by your time with Simon Fairchild. He also sort of ‘pushed’ you backwards, right?”
“Huh. Yeah, actually. It was a lot like that.” Of course it was. How had he not thought of that? “Sorry. I guess it’s hard to think about either of those experiences too much.”
Jon tapped his pen on the table, seeming to look for the right words. “That doesn’t explain why it didn’t happen until tonight, when you’d been on the stairs hours earlier. Considering Tim’s response, I would’ve expected yours to be worse as well.”
Martin made the mistake of looking up to see Jon’s concerned face. Yes, Jon had an idea of what had changed between then and now and was doing a terrible job at hiding it from the others. “Maybe it was frustration, then? When I went home, it was after hours of nothing happening. Maybe that made me look up longer than normal, and everything with me is fine.” Please, he begged, please stop looking as if you know something.
Before Jon could respond, Sasha said, “We could test it.”
Grateful as he was for the distraction, Martin stared at Sasha in confusion. “...How?”
“We go up the stairs and supervise. If things are the same as they were before tonight, then we have new knowledge about how this place works. If the pit reappears, we can dig further into why this seems to be your current condition.”
Tim spoke up with an unexpected edge to his words. “And when you say ‘go up the stairs’, you mean do that and come right back down, right?”
Sasha turned to him. “We could, but-”
Tim slumped in his chair, massaging his temples. “No. No, we talked about this, and it’s a bad idea.”
“It’s also a bad idea to wait until time is up.” She lowered her voice, reaching a hand out toward Tim’s shoulder. “Look, we’ll all be there, and we won’t spend too long talking to it. I promise.”
Tim swatted her hand away. “You agreed to wait for the phone call! It hasn’t even been 24 hours.”
“What if it doesn’t come? What if she never calls back, and we waste the rest of our time and end up returning to the Institute with nothing?”
With some irritation, Jon said, “There’s a change Elias will extend the project-”
“Oh, I don’t believe that for a second.” Sasha waved her hand dismissively. “If anything, his weird radio silence this whole week makes me think he has no intention to do so. Has he responded seriously to any of your update emails?”
Jon opened his mouth to speak, only to come up with nothing.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought. Nothing but ‘excellent’ and ‘thank you for the report’, if you receive a response at all. If we can’t find anything that doesn’t make our digging into the Lukases painfully obvious, we’re going to get pulled from this place, leaving us with no answers or solutions. I don’t think Martin would be very happy with that outcome. I definitely wouldn’t.”
Martin kept his mouth shut, not daring to enter the argument. His eyes flitted between the three researchers, a horrible emptiness filling his chest. So that was it. Unless Naomi gave them something to work with, or they figured out whatever was going on in the next day, that could be it. They would be gone, and he’d be on his own.
Tim glanced at Martin, his face layered with exhaustion and a sort of dread. “...Guys.”
Jon’s eyes were still trained on Sasha with uncertainty. “I don’t think we can make a call-”
“I think we can! We can ask it a few questions, alternate who asks something so it doesn’t get too much of anyone, then stop once we’ve got something we can use-”
Tim’s gaze lost focus, and he shot out of his chair. Before the other two could respond, he stumbled across the room and into the toilet, slamming the door behind him.
“Shit,” Sasha said under her breath, walking after him. She pressed an ear to the door, then grimaced. “Tim, are you okay?”
Jon sent him a brief, nervous look. “Just… give us a moment.” Jon pushed himself out of his chair and joined Sasha.
“Er.” Martin ran his thumb over his knuckles, eyeing the exit with increasing desperation. If Jon hadn’t said anything he would’ve quietly excused himself, but as things were, Martin remained glued to his chair.
The walls betrayed any attempt at whispering. “Tim.” Sasha knocked lightly on the door. “It’s okay. We won’t do anything tonight, I swear.”
She winced at something Martin couldn’t hear. “Oh, that doesn’t sound good,” she muttered, turning toward Martin. “Can you get some water?”
--
After about ten minutes, Tim stumbled out of the toilet, finished glass in hand. After looking at his chair, he elected to sit on the floor with his back against the wall.
He sighed, placing a hand over his eyes. “Don’t get how you’ve worked here for so long.”
Martin scratched his face. “It’s-”
“‘Good pay’, I know.” Tim dropped his hand and played with the empty glass, narrowing his eyes at Sasha and Jon. “God, stop hovering and get down here. Stop making me look up.” They did as they were told, Sasha with legs pulled to her chest and Jon with an elbow resting against his one upright knee.
Tim waved a lazy arm up at Martin, who had returned to the table. “You too. Everyone on the floor.”
“Oh. I, um, I really should get going, actually? It is a bit late, and-”
Tim’s glare was feeble at best. Still, Martin got the message and sat on the floor as well, crossing his legs in front of him with all the grace he could muster, which wasn’t much at this point.
Satisfied, Tim dragged a hand down his cheeks, pulling at the skin under his eyes. “Well, then. Martin. How are you feeling right now?”
Martin leaned back. “Excuse me?”
Tim rolled his eyes. “You came here after hallucinating a giant pit and hitting your head. How are you feeling?”
The sincerity of the question hit Martin like the pavement. “I’m… I’m fine? The bump only stings when I touch it, so...”
“Not quite what I meant. It’s been a weird week. I’m wondering how you’re doing, considering all this.” He gestured the glass toward the general surroundings.
“I-” Martin looked to the others, but all he got were similar questioning looks. At least they weren’t holding up pens and notebooks, and they didn’t have a look of scientific interest. They just... wanted to know how he was doing. “Okay, yeah, it has been a weird week. Whatever is going on, the dizziness is way worse than it used to be, and I don’t know if it’s from us snooping around, or unusual amounts of stress, or something else entirely, but it’s not great.”
To his right, Jon grimaced and pulled his upright leg closer to himself. “I apologize. We’ve been relying on you for much of our investigation, but I hadn’t checked to see if you were all right with it all.”
Martin shook his head. “I wanted to help. It was my own decision to be involved like I have been. It’s my job to keep track of how I’m doing.”
Sasha exhaled through her nose. “True, but we could’ve been more upfront about the methods and risks.” Sasha twisted a lock of hair around her finger. “You’ve been helpful to us, and we’re thankful, but that doesn’t excuse ignoring the effects our work could be having on you. It’s a lot to deal with if you’re not prepared.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Martin chuckled. “This is your job, though. How the hell do you deal with it?”
Tim snorted. “Apparently I haven’t been. This past week has knocked me right on my arse.”
Jon frowned. “It’s not always like this. For the most part, we just stay at the Institute, taking new statements and praying we can find a rational place to store them in the ancient filing system. Which we’re still dealing with despite working on it for two years now.”
“God, please no, not the filing system again,” Tim groaned, unable to hide a smirk.
Jon soldiered on, bitterness dripping from his voice. “It’s an absolute mess. Statements are dated, but nothing is organized by date! We’ve only just started to have a usable database, and by the time we enter everything into it, we’ll be haunting the place ourselves.”
“So, to answer your question, we deal with it by doing paperwork and complaining,” Sasha said with a fake brightness. Her shoulders slumped. “I know it’s been rough, but this is the part of the job I live for.”
“Normally I’d agree, if I wasn’t being terrorized by literal hostile architecture.” Tim landed hard on his t’s, jaw clenched. Then, he relaxed and shrugged at Martin. “Otherwise, yeah, field work is great. Get to see new places, and most of the time it’s just a nice trip out of the city.”
Jon rolled his eyes. “I do wish we had a better vetting process for these things. I understand the budget currently allows for field trips, but I’d rather not be sent out for pranks and tricks of the light. And, well-”
“It could stop you from being an arse every time Elias sends us off?” This earned Tim an annoyed scowl.
Jon stammered out, “That is not fair-”
“And that’s enough of that, I think.” Sasha stretched out her legs. “We’ve all learned a lesson and made friends.”
“If Martin hasn’t decided to delete my number the moment this is taken care of,” Tim said with a wide grin. “Wouldn’t blame you, mind.”
Martin raised his eyebrows, heat rushing to his ears. “Hey, I’m not-”
Tim waggled a finger. “Don’t say anything you’ll regret. I’m a very avid texter.”
“I’m- it’s not-” Martin took a quick breath to gather himself. “It’s been nice, actually, having you all here. Even if it’s ended in me banging my head against a curb.”
Jon cleared his throat. “Though that is a… nice sentiment? We do still have tomorrow. And though Sasha thinks it to be unlikely, I’m still expecting an extension, especially after your incident earlier.” He nodded as if reassuring himself. “Yes, I think it will be fine.”
“Just don’t go falling over again,” Tim said, pointing a firm finger in Martin’s direction. “I for one plan on keeping my eyes shut the whole walk to the hotel, forcing Jon and Sasha to lead me away from potential danger.”
Ignoring a dirty look from Jon, Tim’s face softened. “Just take it slow on the way home. Maybe take one of us with you in case the hill ends up being a lot. I’d go myself, but it might end with both of us tumbling into a bear.”
Martin laughed. “I don’t think we have- Anyway, I don’t think that’s necessary.”
“You did say something about the hill giving you trouble,” Sasha said. “Jon knows where you live, right? He can make sure you get back fine, and I’ll stop Tim from tripping into a bin.”
“Yes, that’s good thinking,” Jon said, using the table to pull himself to his feet.
Oh no. “Um-”
“It was our fault for not checking in with you.” Jon offered a hand to Martin. “The least we can do is make sure nothing else happens tonight.”
The walk was terribly long. He was already feeling much better. Jon would have to walk all the way back afterwards. Really, he’d be-
“All right…” Martin grabbed Jon’s hand, accepting the help. “Only if you’re okay with it.”

New Assignment
Tumblr media
moodboard created by @chuuulip
Character(s): dark!Bucky, later dark!Steve, too
Warnings: this is a dark!fic, it contains non/dubious-consent elements. Some violence as well at the beginning. It goes without (and with) that this is 18+.
Summary: Our reader deals with the grief and paranoia of what she has witnessed, but she finds herself drawn into the belly of the beast.
Notes: I am reposting this fic here. It was originally on ao3 but now it’s on tumblr too! If you read, I love feedback and would love any comments you have. And if you can, please share! Anyhow, enjoy :)
You didn’t sleep that night. You could barely remember returning to your apartment. Turning off your car, locking it, punching in your security code at the front door, climbing the six flights to your bachelor loft. You could recall your door clicking shut and the chain sliding into place. Sitting down in the only chair and staring at the blank television screen. The sun rose through the window, at first a blood orange, softening to an amber, and finally the soft yellow of the morning.
Your alarm chimed, dampened by the leather of your bag. You leaned over the arm of your chair painfully and reached for the handle, dragging it up and over onto your lap. You dug inside and dismissed the ringing reminder. You were not scheduled for any tempwork today but you hadn’t rescheduled your alarm; as you often cursed yourself for. You were about to drop your phone back where you got it when a notification flashed across your screen.
‘Did you get home okay last night?’ Allie texted, another following quickly. ‘I didn’t hear from you.’ You were home, alive, but were you okay? You blinked, swallowing through the dryness of your mouth. You unlocked your phone and quickly replied with a fib; ‘I’m fine. I must have forgot and fallen asleep.’ She answered swiftly, ‘Good. I was worried. There was a robbery last night near my building. The guy was killed.’
I know , you thought, instead sending a singular ‘Oh,’ and shocked emoticon. You locked the phone and tossed it onto your couch, well away from you. You were stiff when you stood, a sleepless night sat in a cheap Ikea armchair was ill-advised. You stretched, trying to shake the cloud away from your head. It was as if you were seeing the world through tinted glasses.
You made your way to the bathroom, trying to pull the elastic from your ponytail which had sagged to the nape of your neck. You broke it in your efforts and hissed, throwing it against the mirror. Your eyes met those of your reflection and you blanched. Your eyes were dark with fatigues, your skin almost sallow, face puffy from tears. You looked like a different person; felt as much.
You reached over, past the shower curtain, and twisted the old four-pronged faucet which gave a whine of metal on metal. Water spattered onto the tile and you withdrew your arm, slowly undressing as you avoided another glance at yourself. Shoes, socks, blouse, pants, underwear, all in a pile in the corner. You would have to throw those out. They felt tainted.
You stepped under the steamy flow and it embraced you, melting the ice which had formed along your muscles. As your hair absorbed the water, you leaned your head back and breathed deep; as if it were the first you had drawn since the night before. As if it were your first and last. You shuddered and the tears began again; melding with the drops falling from the shower head.
By the time you felt clean, if you could call it that, your head throbbed from crying. You stepped from the shower and wrapped yourself in a towel. You secured it at the top of your chest and went to fetch a trash bag from the kitchen. You dropped your clothing into the plastic liner and tied it tightly, dropping it by the door. You would toss it later.
You dragged your feet to the next room where your bed awaited, the sheets and blankets still askew from your last slumber. You fell upon the mattress, hair damp, towel loose around your form, and closed your eyes. Sleep came quickly, out of physical necessity, rather than mental clarity. Your rest was tumultuous and filled with vision of blood and your own demise. It was the most exhausting sleep you had ever experienced.
The first week was filled with grieving. You went to work, did what was needed, and returned to your apartment to mull in silence. You were still overcome with the haze; so detached from all around you. You could pretend it was normal; smile, say hello, ask “how are you? Oh me, I’m good. What can I do for you?...”
The second week was when the fear set in. The nightmares had become more clear and you couldn’t help but look over your shoulder wherever you went. Even in your own apartment. What if you had been seen? What if it had been a trap and they had seen you as you left? What if you hadn’t waited long enough? What if they found you?
You told yourself it was merely paranoia. As it was, you weren’t important enough to be a threat. In your own life, you were little enough to be noticed by the people in the fluorescent-hued offices you were sent to. If you had been found out, would you not have been dealt with by now? You just needed to get over it. Move on. You were alive...and that man was dead. Even if he was a criminal, a drug dealer, a murderer himself; he was dead.
It was another early morning but as of late, you were always awake before your alarm could hasten you. A bowl of yogurt, some granola on top, with a glass of orange juice, some toast and jam. Same breakfast every day. Dress in the dark, unplug your phone, pack your work bag, slip on your flats, a jacket over your arm in case it rains. Keys, stairs, car. Fuck, you hadn’t checked your new assignment.
You sighed and dug your phone out of your bag, your email shone brightly from the screen in the lowlight of early morning. You pressed on the first email; that day’s date, and waited for the winding circle to load. Stark Tower, front desk. Monday to Friday assignment. Special pay, $22/hr, clearance required before commencement. Report to security office upon arrival.
Your phone slipped from your hand but you caught it before it could slide down your leg and onto the floor. Why hadn’t you read it before you said yes? Because that was your habit. You had nothing else in your life so you took whatever would pay. These last weeks, you had merely accepted anything which crossed your screen. Hell, you had worked enough jobs that you could handle it all. Dentist office, insurance company, high-brow CEO. It was all the same. This would be no different.
If you saw those men again, the ones you dreaded even thinking about, what would you do? Nothing. They didn’t know you saw them; couldn’t know. You had nothing to fear. Would you even see them? The odds that they would be at Stark Tower the week you were there were slim or that they would have any reason to stop by the front desk if they did. It was just another job.
You dropped your phone back in your bag and started your car. If you didn’t go now, you’d scare yourself out of it. It was all in your head. Maybe it was. Maybe you hadn’t heard that man die. Maybe you hadn’t seen Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes with their guns pointed at him. Maybe, maybe, maybe...but you had.
You pulled up to Stark Tower; there was a parking garage below. You were stopped at the window and reported your purpose. “Return here with your credentials and we’ll give you a proper pass. For now, take this temporary one,” The man in the booth instructed, handing your a slip. You drove on ahead and found an empty space. You killed the engine and hung your head for a moment, gathering your wits. Reaching for your bag, you forced yourself out of the car and locked it, looking around the parking garage with a gulp. It was different than the concrete maze behind Allie's building. This one was as pristine as the rest of Stark Tower; shining, metallic walls and pillars, lines formed by electronic lasers across the tarmac. Who knew a parking lot could be so fancy?
You found your way to the stairs which the arrows told you led to the public entrance. You held onto the rail as your feet were heavier which each step. You pushed through the metal door and found yourself at a door just inside the foyer of Stark Tower, opposite the automatic glass doors which lined the front. You looked around, the digital lettering reading ‘Security’ catching your eye.
You crossed to the desk, stopping before the glass which separated personnel from public. “Hello,” You greeted as the man turned to you, his dark uniform marked with a simple label across his left lapel denoting his department. “I’m a temp sent from Blue Binder Temp Agency.”
“I.D.” The man demanded and waited for you to produce your wallet. You slipped your driver’s license through and he typed into the computer just to his left. He held up the card and squinted. “Y/N?” He turned to you, “I need a second form of I.D. to confirm.”
You dug around and offered him your birth certificate. He inserted both your license and certificate into a slot and they were swiftly kicked back out, a copy of both appearing in a tray below. He returned your documents and typed once more into his computer. “Fingers on the desk along the outlines.”  You looked down and red dots appeared on the metal ledge before his window in the pattern of fingerprints. You placed your hands as he advised and the red dots flashed and disappeared. He pointed to a small black dot along the metal lining his window, “Look at the camera.” A flash caught you off-guard as your eyes found the small device and his printer began to work once more.
He held up a plastic card, attaching it to a lanyard and slid it through the slot. Your picture, name, and clearance were listed on the front; the other side was only a barcode. “Scan this for entrance and at the parking garage. You’re all set.” He looked over your head and waved, “Next.”
You stepped aside as the person behind you moved before the glass and you looked around. Where exactly were you suppose to go? You turned back and the security officer caught your eye, rolling his own before pointing across the foyer. You followed his finger and spotted the large, circular desk opposite him. Ah, yes, that empty seat must be for you.
You crossed and found the hinged section of desk meant to swing open and allow you to get behind the mammoth. You spotted a vague red square just beside it and scanned your newly-acquired ID card before slinging it over your neck. The desk unlocked and you opened it, stepping inside and closing it behind you.   You tucked your bag beneath the desk at your feet and sat in the large rolly chair. It was by far the most comfortable that you had been allotted in your work. You booted the computer, reading through the briefing left for you in a file upon the desk. It was straightforward enough; your usual work. Greeting, handing out maps, reading from the list of frequently asked questions. A greeter more than a clerk. Well, it was easy work for good pay. You couldn’t complain.

As a kid i absolutely loved going for walks to the forest with my uncles or grandma. I especially loved going there in winter time. I was jumping in the biggest snowbanks. I was dragging my grandma inder the tree and then shaking brances and snow was falling on us. :D There was a place where i could sled and i enjoyed that a lot too. Summertime walks were awesome too. We were taking dogs with us. We (me and dogs) were running in grass that big we couldn't see anything. Dogs were often swimming in the river and i did too if it was warm enough. The other day one dog jumped into the river and for some reason started swimming backwards. We were calling them but they were swimming furter and further from the bank towards plants that were growing there. Uncle got worried and jumped into the river to save my dog. He jumped in jeans and then we were drying his documents and money on the grass in the sun :D17) What is something you own that is important to you? What makes it so important?- my plushies - there are some, and each remind me of time or person that is important for me. 14600 shares The contents of your Bug Out Bag are one of the most important things you need for disaster preparedness. We’ve talked about this a lot before at Primal Survivor. But, as we’ve said many times, each person has different needs. A BOB for a fit young man, for example, will look a lot different than those of a family. To give you an idea of how different Bug Out Bags can be, check out these 4 examples of Bug Out Bag essentials. Not all of these Bug Out Bag contents are perfect, but looking at what they include and don’t include should help you decide what to put in your pack. BUG OUT BAG CHECKLIST Get organized fast with our completely free checklist. Example 1: The Military Bug Out Bag A female military veteran created this Bug Out Bag. She’s done a good job choosing her BOB items, including a few things you don’t often see – like the collapsible washbowl. She’s chosen a great survival knife (a khukuri), which would be much more useful in the wilderness than your standard folding knife. The basha pole (see here for more types of fighting stick) is excellent, but I wouldn’t recommend it to preppers unless you know how to use it in combat. It was also really smart for her to add waterproof pants to her BOB in addition to the standard waterproof jacket/poncho. If you’ve ever gone backpacking in the rain, you know what I am talking about! Bug Out Bag Contents *Not pictured: Example 2: Backdoor Survival Bug Out Bag This Bug Out Bag was made by the good people over at Backdoor Survival. I want to point out that this is the only Bug Out Bag here that includes COPIES OF IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS. As I talk about in this post about emergency binders, you must have copies of documents like your ID, passport, health insurance, etc., in case rescue workers need them. Not every disaster will bring about TEOTWAWKI, so you’ll want these for semi-SHTF scenarios! They also included some other really practical items – like TOILET PAPER. It isn’t necessary and does take up a lot of space, but you’ll probably be happy to have some TP around when SHTF. See toilet paper alternatives and toilet paper tablets. Note that Bug Out Bags are supposed to be the minimum supplies you need for survival immediately after disaster strikes. So, a knife sharpener isn’t strictly necessary. It is small and lightweight, though, so why not bring it along? I would have included a more durable flashlight, preferably a winding one, in case the batteries go out. Bug Out Bag Contents  Example 3: The Budget Bug Out Bag This is an excellent example of building a Bug Out Bag on a budget. There are some higher-quality items in this BOB (like the knives), but they are older and passed down. While this Bug Out Bag is a pretty good start (more than the average person has!), there are quite a few flaws here. Instead of including 4 knives in the kit (yes, there are 4 knives here!), I would have opted for one really good quality survival knife with a fixed blade. Fixed blades are much stronger than folding knives, and a quality blade will allow you to do things like cutting wood. Or, he could have packed 1 fixed blade and 1 folding knife. Read how to select a good survival knife. I would have also opted for a wind-up flashlight instead of carrying all those spare batteries. And there should be some sort of tarp or tent in this Bug Out Bag. A wool blanket isn’t much good when you don’t have a roof over your head! Bug Out Bag Contents Example 4: Secondary Bug Out Bag This is a SECONDARY Bug Out Bag – meaning it contains the gear which isn’t used as often, so the main Bug Out Bag can be free. There are some nice additional items here – like the zinc oxide tape and mini fishing kit. The addition of gloves is nice, too, especially for urban survival situations where you might have a lot of broken glass or rubble. hello everyone!! as a high school junior taking 4 aps, 3 other classes, preparing for the act, trying to do college research, stage managing a musical, and trying not to lose my mind, here are some fun n handy tips for not Dying when ur schedule is hell!
if you found this post helpful maybe give it a like/reblog and check out my other posts here!
01 | PLANNING AND PREPARING
so much of getting and staying organized has to do with organizing your time in advance.  there are a million ways to do this--google calendar, a bullet journal, a planner, some post-it notes.  my system involves three parts: a google calendar, a planner, and an online to-do list app.
google calendar: this is mostly for events.  i can see when i have rehearsals, classes, doctor’s appointments, etc.  this helps me see how much available time i have and budgeting it properly.
planner: i take this with me to school, and i use it to right down when i have assignments and tests.  i use the ban.do planner, but these are a bit pricey, and really anything will do.  just somewhere to put down tasks so you can keep track of them
getplan.co: this app is, honest to god, the only reason i am still alive and breathing.  it plugs into your google calendar and then allows you to create and schedule tasks around events.  @studycxlture has an amazing post about plan here that i def recommend checking out!
general tips about planning:
plan out the events of your month at least two days before it starts
set aside a night (i like sunday evenings) to set up a system for the upcoming week and go over what you have planned so you don’t forget anything
you are NOT gonna remember that assignment that teacher told you about.  write it down.
you do not need a fancy system.  it’s okay to try lots of different things until you find what works
never spend more time planning out tasks than completing them.  unless you have that much free time, don’t dedicate two hours to making a lovely weekly bullet journal spread.
color codes!!! are a life saver.  i have one with a color for each class (red for english, orange for spanish, yellow for history, green for science, blue for math, etc) as well as some for my extracurriculars (pink for the musical, teal for model un, etc).
always have ur planner open when ur working, so that you can make sure u r actually completing all the tasks u said u were gonna complete
02 | STAYING ORGANIZED
oh my god oh my god oh my god staying on top of your work is SO important when you’re busy.  being able to find your worksheets and keep track of your homework and your million responsibilities is essential to being successful.  to stay organized, i have an expandable file folder with tabs for each class.  because i take most of my notes in notebooks instead of binders, this is a good way to keep all of my handouts, worksheets, and syllabi centralized.
also, make sure you have a way to keep your online materials organized.  create a folder for each school year, and within that folder, create more folders for each class.  from there, it’s up to you about how you’ll organize files. you can create even MORE folders (yeet) for things like homework, notes, study guides, etc, or folders for each unit you study.  the possibilities are endless!!!! isn’t technology exciting
here r some pieces of advice for staying organized:
have a series of folders/binder/expandable file folder to hold your worksheets.  or one for each class, though i prefer to keep all my papers in one a) to save money and b) to save space.
label your notebooks/binders so that you know which ones to bring home with you
never just shove something into your backpack.  never.  i’m gonna manifest into ur classroom and FIGHT you if u do that.  it’s not good, it’ll end up getting lost or crushed under the weight of all ur textbooks, and you’ll end up panicking when u can’t find it
have ur planner on u at all times
keep a good filing system of ur stuff at home.  u don’t need to carry around every single bio assignment you’ve gotten back, but by the time ur final rolls around ur gonna want 2 b able to look at all the materials you’ve gotten during the semester
that being said, throw stuff away when the year is over!  i, for one, know i’m never gonna think about calculus after this class is done, so i will be recycling all of my papers (save the earth) and moving tf on
keep a recycling bin in your room!  even if it’s just a paper bag, it’ll make throwing paper in the trash way less tempting (save the earth)
u don’t need a ton of pens.  i’m being a giant hypocrite saying this but you really don’t need all that stuff.  if you want it and you can manage it, great, but if it’s just another thing to keep track of, leave ur staedtlers and ur mujis and ur fineliners and ur calligraphy pens at home, and just take the essentials with u to school
03 | MAKING THE MOST OF UR TIME
in order to succeed, it’s v important to make every second count.  this doesn’t mean studying 48 hours straight (pls don’t), but try not to waste time. whether this means you spend fifteen minutes napping, doing some reading for english, or having a quick snack, make sure u are being productive and healthy!  i, for one, sometimes have 1-2 hour breaks between school and rehearsal, and i like to use these to walk to the grocery store by my school and get some food and then study in the deli.
some ideas for being productive!
carry a clipboard around everywhere.  this way, u don’t need to spend as much time transitioning in and out of tasks, u can just put ur work onto the clipboard, and put it in ur backpack at the end of a break, and then the next chance u have to work on it, just take it back out.  easy peasy
work during commutes! nOT if ur the one driving the car though that’s VERY dangerous and distracted driving = bad.  but if ur on the bus, or ur mom is driving u to school, that might be a good time to go over some notes you took last night, or some reading you need to catch up on.  nothing too insane, please don’t do ur chem labs on the public bus but.  u know.
read over the notes you took that day on the ride home.  this will help reinforce the information in ur brain, and it’s not super difficult. i go over my apush notes during the 40 minute drive home and sometimes talk about them w my mom, which gives me a much better grasp of the material
don’t waste time on social media.  either delete instagram altogether, or log off/mute notifications before u start work.  same with tumblr.  don’t start scrolling obsessively if u have three tests to study for.
power naps!!!! napping for about 10-20 minutes, maybe on the way home or to practice/rehearsal/whatever u gotta do, can help u feel refreshed!  anything longer will make u more tired tho, so be sure to get up when u say ur gonna get up.
study smarter: when ur going over material, u don’t need to handwrite 60 beautiful flashcards.  use quizlet instead.  don’t revise if it’s not gonna help u.  prioritize which assignments r gonna be most impactful over the little ones u can easily make up
take good breaks!! breaks r VERY important and should be utilized properly.  here r some good suggestions for things to do:
throw in a load of laundry
empty the dishwasher
stretch/do some jumping jacks
drink some water!
go for a walk
talk to a family member
get a snack!
read some fun novels n such
scream?
!! in case of emergency !! the following tips should only be employed when ur short on time.  don’t use these just bc u can, this is just when it’s about getting close enough to grasping material, not actually grasping it
do every other math problem assigned, and either star the ones u didn’t do, or get the answers from the back of the book.  this way, u get some practice but u also save time
sparknotes ur reading beforehand.  this way, u can recognize what’s going on.  it’s not v good for developing ur reading comprehension, but assignments will go by quicker
NEVER google translate ur language homework, but u can use word reference for helping u find the right word and proper conjugations
flagpole it: didn’t study enough for a test?  are u guessing on like 10 of the questions?  if it’s multiple choice, but the same answer for all the ones u have no clue about, unless that answer choice seems highly unlikely.  then pick a different one.  this way, ur statistically more likely to get some of the ones you guessed correct.
when u have an online assignment due at midnight and it’s 11:53 and u haven’t started, find another assignment you’ve already completed that has a similar document name.  for example, “scarlet letter chapters 9-11″ instead of ur actual assignment “scarlet letter chapters 12-14″.  submit the other one, and then when u finish the other assignment (either that night or the next morning) email ur teacher and apologize, say u accidentally submitted the wrong document
if ur parents will let u (if ur in high school) or u can let urself (if ur in uni), it’s okay to skip a day to catch up.  just make sure u actually work, get the notes u missed, and talk to ur teachers/professors abt the material u missed.
04 | STAYING HEALTHY
ur health comes before any assignment, test, or extracurricular.  i know lots of ppl r probably telling u that and it doesn’t seem like they mean it, but i mean it.  no exam is worth sacrificing ur mental, physical, or emotional health for.  yeet!  so here r some things to keep in mind
eat!  ur fuckin!  breakfast!  whether it’s a smoothie or oatmeal or a cup of orange juice or an apple or an elaborate french toast dish, u need some food in ur stomach so that u have the energy to start ur day
remember to take ur meds if u need to!
drink water!  drink! water!  have a glass when u wake up, and then at least one with every meal, and one before u go to bed.  hydration is v important.  if u can, invest in a water bottle and take it with u to class.
pack a lunch!  and if ur staying later after school, pack snacks!  tech week for me is always hell because i get to school at 7:30 am and don’t usually leave until 11 that night.  it’s v important to stay nourished and hydrated so that u don’t get dizzy or faint.
remember!  that u are beautiful, and ur body is beautiful, and it deserves 2 b loved! especially by u.
get 6 hours of sleep.  aim for 8, but six at the very least.  if ur done with ur work, go to bed early!  don’t just stay up for no reason.
shower everyday, or every other day at least.  give yourself those 15 minutes as a break from work or school or anything else that’s keeping you busy
write down ur thoughts in a journal?
talk to a friend if ur feeling sad, or just feeling things very intensely.  share ur joy with other people!  vent ur sadness and anger so u aren’t carrying it around everywhere.
make some time to have fun.  see a movie w ur friends or ur bf/gf/datefriend or ur family over the weekend.  go to a museum.  hang out at the mall.  sleepover at someone’s house.  taking breaks is healthy.
make an effort to have dinner with ur family if u can (also if u like ur family.  i know some ppl have bad relationships w them so skip this step if that’s u).  it can be nice to reconnect w everyone, even when ur stressed or they’re annoying u, it can be nice.
remember that it’s okay to be imperfect!  u don’t need to be good at a lot of things.  i got a b for the first time last semester, i just got a c on an apush test, i failed my driver’s test again yesterday.  but i also aced my math quiz, i celebrated six months of knowing my best friend, i walked my dog, i helped put a production together.  it’s okay to have rough days and bad days and bleh days, as long as you keep pushing through them and working for the days to get better.
i love u!!! stay hydrated and nourished and get enough sleep.  put on some lotion if u have it available.  brush ur hair.  if u ever wanna ask a question, my ask box is always open!  <3

A HANDY DANDY CONVENTION CHECKLIST!
Prepping for a convention? Here’s a check list to help you get organised for your trip!
TICKETS Make sure you remember to print out all your tickets! That’s your PDFs/receipts for your convention ticket, photo ops and autographs, plus meet and greet invoice if you’re doing one. Hotels have printers of course, but it’s easier to have them ready to go, rather than trying to find somewhere to print them out while at the convention – because you’ll be busy!
EXTRA TIP FOR HARD TICKETS - CREATION SPECIFIC Some people put the hard tickets (bought at the con, or via PDF ticket exchange) in the back of their lanyard - they can fall out! Be aware of them at all times, or find a safter place for them! You can jot your name and seat number on the back, so if you do drop them and someone finds them, they can find you, or turn them into Creation who can find you. (Fingers crossed if you lose a ticket, someone honest finds them!)
ELECTRONICS Camera – with spare batteries and memory card and associated cords. Phone Laptop/iPad/iPod All your chargers! All your charger cables!
It’s also great to bring an extra battery pack for your phone, because there usually isn’t anywhere to quickly charge your phone without going back to your room, so if you have a pre-charged battery backup with you that can help keep in touch!
If you do forget something, you always have fan backup – someone will lend you that charging cable that mysteriously got left behind!
PENS A pen – for filling out reupping forms – and for writing down your email or twitter for new friends! Highlighter pens – for highlighting the schedule Coloured Sharpie – if you don’t want black or silver for your auto, bring your own coloured Sharpie pen!
PAPER Always bring some kind of notebook – just in case you want to jot down notes from a panel, or something someone told you, names, emails, twitter handles (as Jensen calls them) etc!
SOMETHING TO PUT YOUR PHOTO OPS IN You need something to put your photo ops in so they don’t bend and get ruined! You can buy great hard sleeves in the vendor’s room, but I find that sometimes the photos can get stuck in them! So be careful of that! A document display folder with plastic inserts, or a ring-binder with plastic inserts is great. Or just a hard plastic document envelope. The photos printed out at the con are 10x8, so anything that fits A4 or larger works.
WHATEVER YOU’RE GOING TO GET AUTOGRAPHED If you have something specific that you’re getting signed, don’t forget to pack it! The Vendors room has photos and books and some other items that can be used for autos if you don’t have something specific.
SNACKS AND WATER Soooooo important! Many of the convention hotels/convention centres don’t have much (or any) food available, or you have to go out to get food (and did I mention how busy you’ll be?), or it’s super expensive. So pack your own. If you’re travelling and can’t pack a sandwich or anything, even if it’s just some fruit or nibblies to take into the convention auditorium, that will help to keep your energy up.
The days are long, you might not get much sleep, you might be drinking more alcohol than usual, the hotels and convention centres are heavily air-conditioned, so it’s also super important to stay hydrated. If you can pickup a bulk pack of water at Target or a supermarket or something, that’s going to save you money and you’ll have water in your room and to take to panels! Seriously, snacks and water. Get on that!
*CREATION CON SPECIFIC - There is also a large water dispenser with cups inside the auditorium. You can use that water throughout the day, and you can also fill up your own water bottle from the supplied water dispensers to save more money.
HANDOUTS - Twitter/Tumblr/email Print out your Twitter @  or/Tumblr/email addy on little pieces of paper that you can hand out to your new fandom friends who want to be able to follow or contact you. You can make them simple, or into cool little business cards!
EXTRA MONEY – BUT BUDGET! Um. Cons are expensive. Outside of the costs of hotel accommodation and all your tickets that you’ve already paid for, you’ll also have to buy food and drinks (unless you packed them as per the awesome tip above!) The Vendor’s room or vendor’s areas at a con has cool stuff, t-shirts, books, stickers, mugs, glasses, posters, standees, all sorts of jewellery, and various other goodies that you might want. There may even be a guest that you didn’t get an op with, but when you see their panel, you feel you absolutely must hug the living hell out of them, (oh believe me, it happens!), so you just have to get another op! So take a little extra money, just in case. But budget…because it’s real easy to get swept up into the con craziness and want all the things and all the ops (speaking from experience), so make sure you set yourself a budget!
Make sure you have ID on you too, in case that is needed for credit card purchases!
YOUR OUTFITS Okay, I know, d’uh, you’re going to pack clothes! But if you’ve decided on a specific outfit, whether something pretty or something cosplay, make sure you have all the necessary bits! I always plan what I’m wearing for each day ahead of time. That way I don’t have to pack loads of options and I don’t have to think about it at the con. Some days (especially Saturday and Sunday) can start quite early, and the last thing you’re going to want to do is be trying on outfits like crazy. 1. You won’t have time. 2. You don’t want to increase your stress! So pre-plan your outfits and pack all the elements you decide on to make them perfect.
And bring something warm to take into the panels - it can be chilly in the auditorium!
CREATION SPECIFIC - CASH FOR CHRIS – the Creation photographer If you are buying JPEGS of your photo-ops you will need $US to give to Chris the photographer. Each photo op you have, comes with 1 10x8 print – but only 1. You can purchase JPEGS of each photo for $10 per JPEG. There is a number on the photo – you give that number to Chris or his offsiders. Each photo’s JPEG you purchase costs $10 and you must have cash for that. So when you know what photo-ops you’re getting, figure out before hand which you may need (if there’s more than one of you in the photo) or want a JPEG of and ensure you have enough $US on you. If you are at a Canadian con – you can use Canadian dollars but as Chris is from the US, US dollars are better for him. The JPEGS are super high quality, large files, which can be printed to LARGE canvas size if you want (speaking from experience).
NOTE - Chris supplies the JPEGS via an email link to Google Drive. Expect to get them within about a week or two after the con depending upon Chris’ other con and family commitments. Be patient - he will get them to you!
If you don’t have the cash at hand to buy the JPEGS at the convention, you can still buy them after the con. Go to the Creation website and follow the link and you’ll be able to contact Chris via there. See info below!
Tumblr media
TISSUES/VITAMINS/PAIN KILLERS ETC. There’s lots of aircon in the hotels/convention areas and you may get a running nose – you don’t want to be snuffly or snotty – pack tissues. Eyedrops – for the same reason, the aircon may dry your eyes out and make them sore and red. It’s also not a bad idea to pack some Vitamin B or C to keep your energy up and immune system working. Pack some Paracetamol or/and Ibuprfen in case of headache or backache or hangover! I always take hay fever medication with me – I never know if something is going to affect me in a place I’m not used to (Vancon for example, gives me hives…WHY I DO NOT KNOW!). I also bring cough/cold medication. I have got super sick at cons! It sounds like a lot, but seriously, I have got sooo sick and having stuff on hand has been a life saver. I also always travel with Bepanthen because I get tatts when I travel :D Also don’t forget extra contact lenses if you need them, and pack band aids (especially if you have new shoes.)
And remember, you are going to be somewhere where you can buy things, so don’t overpack. If you forget toiletries or need something, you will be able to buy at the con. Most cons are held in a hotel, all of which have some form of shop for emergencies - fangirls are also a great back up.
BREATHMINTS/GUM You’re going to want to pop a mint before you go into a photo op! You’re about to get up close and personal with Jensen Ackles, and you don’t want to breathe coffee breath all over him! Pack mints.
PERFUME/MINI DEODERANT For the same reason as the mints. You’re about to hug the crap outta Misha Collins – you don’t want “been sitting for 6 hours in the same shirt” smell as you squish into him!
LITTLE PURSE MIRROR Perfect for checking your lippy, hair, making sure you don’t have kale in your teeth – as you wait in line for your photo op. Don’t worry, EVERYONE is doing it!
HAND SANITISER. OMG YESSSS! Con crud is a thing. Protect yourself at all costs! Santitise like your health depends on it! IT DOES!
BAGS I get asked about bags a lot - what bag can you take to a convention. For Creation, at this stage there is no restriction on the bag you bring into a panel, however the bag must easily fit under your chair or the chair in front of you. You can not keep bags in aisles or anywhere they may be an obstruction or a saftey issue.
For Karaoke - it is requested that you do not bring a bag of any kind. So only bring a bag if it is vital - ie if you require a bag for medication, ensure you let the people manning the door know.
If you have a camera, and do not need that bag - bring it without.
For the Saturday Night Special Concert - once again, avoid bringing a bag. If you do bring a bag for the concert, it must be small purse size, or a camera bag.
Note: there is security and all bags will be checked so DO NOT BRING A BAG to Karaoke or the concert.
ALCOHOL Creation do not allow alcohol at their events, there is no alcohol permitted at Karaoke or the Saturday night concert, or in panels. (There wasn’t even alcohol allowed at the Hawai’i con luau dinner! Seriously.)
That’s it for now! But I’ll keep adding more as more tips come up!
