Oh no, it's not a beer. Yes, it's tea. To be honest I could have called myself GermanTeaLover, but I am more the anti guy. But isn't it a great thing on a grey and rainy morning to drink some black tea? There are Beer times and there are tea times. And cold, wet March mornings belong to the second kind. This one is one of of my favorites : tea from the nilgiris, the blue mountains in south India, close to Bangalore. It's actually a nostalgic tea, as I learned to love it while being there. Lush green hills and wherever you go you get this half fermented black tea with a mild aromatic taste (not like the clunky taste hammer called Assam). I get my Tiashola from a small tea shop called Oblomow, in a small town were I grew up in. They don't even have a online shop, you can only order per email since the Lockdown 😂. ABG: Do you have a favorite Austin beer? If not, which one do you at least look best holding? Bill: recently i’ve been diagnosed as gluten intolerant. has put a crimp in my ipa love affair. but i found out austin beer works beers are gf. they don’t advertise it tho. so i like austin beer works ipa. when i could drink gluten — jester king was king.   Favorite Austin bar? i liked the horseshoe lounge.  when is it moving to new location?! Besides writing and recording your new album, what have you been doing to fill your days during the pandemic? (As fellow husbands and dads, any family man tips to pass the days?) well, it was written and recorded before the pandemic. outside activity is best — the pools were open for awhile! now you have to find some natural swimming hole. While we’ve seen you at the Mohawk and you most recently played at Scholz Garten,  we have more often seen you perform at churches, libraries, a resort and dark rooms during SXSW. Do you approach a bar or club show differently? Does it take more to command the room?   some venues have pre-arranged behavior schematics. it’s fun to play in a place that doesn’t ordain the response. living in austin has made me explore alternate venues more than other cities. bar/club shows — people can take them for granted because they all can look/feel alike if you don’t pay attention. Brewery collaborations are so hot right now. Anyone, local or not, you’d want to release a collab with? i heard there is a “dress sexy at my funeral” stout that a british brewer brews. but they never said a word about it to me. if i could do a collab i would convince jester king to make a gluten free ipa. Transport yourself to a non-COVID world, your next show can be anywhere in Austin, no rules. Where is it? on the grounds of the state capital.
