Remember the episode when Holt and Kevin got re-married and Kevin said “there is no one here anymore but family” and the entire squad was there? You remember that?

I mentioned that Poppyhill is based on The Haunting of Hill House's Poppy Hill and that Ferndoe is based on Olivia Crain (more loosely).

So I'm gonna show one of my favourite scenes of the whole show, which also gives you an idea of how Poppyhill manipulated an already vulnerable Ferndoe.

(Note the mention of Poppy Hill's daughter drowning-- the same way Poppyhill the cat's two kits died)

My favourite horror stories are the ones where the main character is stopping to get help somewhere, like their car ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere but miraculously there’s a gas station, or they have food with a kind lady in a house, only to leave to find out the station / house was abandoned. 

Because it’s meant to be freaky like “oh, they were talking to ghosts this whole time!” yeah man, ghosts that just wanted to give you food and chill. They didn’t have to help you or be nice at all, and there’s literally no consequences for them being mean or violent because they’re already dead, yet they choose to have tea and cookies. You think it’s scary, I think it’s sweet

My art teacher hates her last name, so everyone just refers to her by her first name (she requests for them to). I think it fits a lot better too

Well, that is still a lot! But let’s calculate that

Kin to Firestar = 24 / 42 --> 57%

Not kin / kin only through mate = 18 / 42 --> 43%

Of course there are still many kin to Firestar outside of Thunderclan or recently deceased.

Maybe cats are a bit hard on him, maybe it’s all in Flamepaw’s head. What can be taken from this, and what we all know,

is that they need so many more cats from outside to join their Clan because so many of these ‘kin’ are also mates with each other

Thought 13-- I was thinking about how Squirrelflight was clearly trying to connect Sparkpelt and Flamepaw, when it hit me

She was probably thinking about her sister-- Leafpool, who desperately wanted to be close to her kits, but was forced to give them up. Leafpool, who spent her whole life being as much of a mother as she could, always falling short. Leafpool, who never stopped loving her kits, even when they stopped loving her. Leafpool, who lost her daughter only shortly after they had reconciled.

Squirrelflight knows how precious time between a mother and child is. She doesn’t want to see Sparkpelt waste it anymore than she already has, because she knows the heartbreak that it causes.

Also yes I did change Myrtlewing’s number of victims. I like him and I can do what I want, so I upped his list so that he can remain #1 killer (might give it to Gorseheart ‘cause I like him a lot too).

I want a character that has fleshed-out relationships with several others

I want a character who has friends

I want a character to get into more and more fights with their friends

I want a character to become more isolated

I want a character to embrace the anger they feel

I want a character that’s tired of doing their best when everything is always falling apart around them

I want a character that’s tired of apologizing when everyone gets so easily angry with them

I want to read the moment their friends go “oh” and realize that something is Terribly Wrong

I want a character to do something horrible

I want a character to realize that they don’t feel bad about it at all

I want a character that will decide to do something horrible again

I want a character to embrace the darkness

I want readers to realize that the character they believed to be the good guy might just end up the villain
