You were currently live with Tommy and Phil at your sides, watching you draw. You usually streamed when you were working out the blocks for your upcoming comic, wanting to get some outside opinions from friends and chat as you worked.

Charlie and Ranboo's voices hung in your head over the Discord call, where you'd repeat their words to Tommy and Phil as they talked. Those two were streaming some weird simulation game, so you were listening to them babble with your volume on 10 as you worked, more so listening to Phil and Tommy. The blondes were giving you suggestions, compliments, and were talking about some movie they'd recently watched together.

You place your pen back down on the iPad screen, coloring in the blocks as you worked. You had numerous amounts of pallettes to make sure all the colors were correct, plus it made life easier in the long run.

"No, no, no!" Tommy waves his finger dangerously close in front of Phil's face, "That movie sucked. The dad can kiss my ass!"

"The dad was trying to save his kids, Tom!"

"By shooting their mum?!"

You slowly look up at your webcam, your jaw slightly agape, eyebrows furrowed. You listen as they both blabber on and on, talking about whatever plot there was to this random apocolypse movie that they'd seen.

"What are you talking about...?" You finally ask, looking slightly back and up at Tommy.

"Explaining to Phil about how he's wrong!"

You turn back down to your iPad, continuing to color in the boxes as you had been. You flinch and push yourself back in your desk, hearing Charlie and Ranboo both scream into your ears.

ive really been loving the pacing of your story and i enjoy the concept and the bits that have been released about the plot! youre doing really well, and i admire it greatly!!

ive been having trouble figuring out an overall plot in my own work, i just have character ideas and the vaguest idea for a storyline. i try to just write but then i usually end up taking a break (re: dumping it) because i don't have anymore ideas for how to complete the plot. i've laso been curious about how you go about writing for a comic (do you write then do thumbnails? do thumbnails then go back to figure out dialogue? a third thing?) so i was wondering if you had any advice or resource tips for writing? both for comics and for overarching plots, if that's okay

Oh thank you so much!! I can't say I'm a comic book artist at heart because I really don't have much experience, I was only an illustrator for a short while and never wrote anything myself, but learning from past mistakes (i.e. I don't stick to plans), I've so far done this and it seems to work:

I'm one of those that don't like to plan strict layouts for the entire thing, because chances are I will not stick to it, so what I've done for felt world is just write a sketch for the overarching plot, the b-plot and c-plot, with rough estimates in what order I want the major plot points and settings to be. My current sketch looks like this;

(which is done in Miro) and as you can see there aren't that many plot points, because I want to have the wiggle room to come up with something on the spot. And also, my comic focuses a lot on interpersonal relationships, character development, and themes rather than the plot, which means it needs to be concise or else the comic is gonna take 6 million years to finish.

And now,, I think this might just be how I work, but I think it's easier to be creative when you have strict restrictions rather than all the choices in the world.

for me, personally, I restrict an update of 10 pages tops, because instagram only allows max 10 images per post! This means I have to 1) fit all I want to say in 10 pages, 2) it has to be concise or else I infodump on readers, and 3) I have to answer some sort of question within the update, or else I said nothing and I start over.

As for scripts, I tend to write one or two sentences of what's going to happen for the update, and then I get to thumb-nailing and sketching right away! I come up with most of the dialogue on the spot too.

And also, I think what's most important, is that you take your damn time! If you aren't immersing yourself in your own world, how do you expect your readers to do the same?

I'm very much a believer that the stories you are telling are something that comes to you naturally if you just sit with it and listen rather than demand that it makes itself known to you. When I brainstorm for felt world I quite literally sit in my bed and go "omg!! And then what? :0" TO MYSELF LMAO as if I'm not making everything up myself! I think that's extremely important that your story is engaging to you first and foremost!

And as for more practical tips

carry a notebook with you or use your notes app AS SOON as you get ideas to write them down! No you will not remember, lol.

set rules of what you're not allowed to do with your story so that you don't fall into lazy trope territory! You can do that when you brain storm, but finesse the story post brainstorm to just make it.. smarter.. if that makes sens For example, don't kill your gay characters, don't make sensitive men the butt of the joke, don't make your women fight over men (unless it's the point), etc.

set physical restrictions! For example, max amount of pages per upload, max amount of pages for the whole story, max amount of characters, etc.! That literally forces you to problem solve, which by definition is creativity! Like, oh you can't do this the obvious way? Do it the creative way! That's way more fun!

I could probably go on, but this is too long already! But I hope it at least helped somewhat!

i draw well i'd like to say. i took art gcse and it did infact make me want to jump because of my god awful teacher but its okay we got through it (A* in the end so it was worth it) however if im up for it i may or may not share some of my artwork for the world to enjoy.

NICHE INTERESTS

pride and prejudice and zombies. one of the MOST amazing parodies of a film ive EVER seen. it was so so so good and the sillyness of it made it 10x better. seeing lily james fight zombies with a sword and being badass may have increased my straight factor. crochet, i can do that. its so fun and i love making little animal plushes to collect for myself, it really fills me with joy sonic the hedgehog, i love that blue little thing he makes me so happy and i love the entire franchise. my favourite character being tails because 7 year old me made a decision and had to stick with it, probably because having 2 tails was cool to me for some reason (talk about being woke) pokemon, ive probably grown up watching every single series of pokemon to exist, and played many of the games via emulators since i never had my own ds :(. but at one point i had the entire pokedex memorised. (not anymore tho sadly) but i am eager to get back into it.

I love the "Bisexual Menace" John headcannon but I feel like we're missing the subjectively funnier headcannon of rabid straight ally John Marston.

Like, he's this gruff salt of the earth type cowboy who hates the government and has the stereotypical nuclear family (at a first glance). You've **seen** him shoot a gun faster than you could *say* the word bang.

He is the type of guy I'd be scared to ask to use proper pronouns until I heard him talk about the time he spent two nights in jail because "Some dumb bastard called my brother a f----t and they had to **tear** me off of him." (Even better if Arthur dies at some point before this "joke" in the AU)

At which point you would come to learn that this man lived in the equivalent of a LGBTQ commune.

I was confused at first cause I thought they were a k group but their language sounded off to me and one of them is v e r y fruity if you catch my drift— but like now I’m growing attached and I miiiiiight grow obsessed cause omG they sound so good. 😭😭😭

Hiiii Maxx!

Woahh, I never thought I'd see the day someone talked positively about 4MIX and I'm HERE FOR IT! A few years ago, not too long after their debut I want to say, they got massively dragged across YouTube (and maybe on here too? I can't quite remember - long time ago) for being "untalented" and "trying too hard to be kpop" 🙄

4MIX is actually a T(hai)POP group! They kept doing their thing despite the barrage of hate and their songs keep getting better (imo).

The member I believe you're referencing is their beautiful leader, Ninja. I don't want to misgender anyone so I'm going to avoid pronouns as best I can 😅🙏 but Ninja is indeed LGBTQ+! Ninja is pretty open about that aspect too, and I believe Ninja came out as gay pretty early on in 4MIX's career. Now, though, Ninja may have transitioned but I'm not one percent sure so I'll leave it there!

I don't follow artists outside of YouTube (listening to their music and rarely watching shorts) and the occasional post on Tumblr, so I don't know much about the other members or anything really personal about the band. Mcka is probably my bias tho!

TPOP (and PPOP, my beloved) is actually filled with amazing artists and I'm so so so happy to see some love for it, and for 4MIX who have struggled so much yet endured and persevered!

I only know title tracks but Hot & Cold is my favourite!

I think Mixed in the Key of Emo is pretty great. It wasn't even planned, and after writing the first wieners, it was a nice change of pace.

Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

Carefully, Mickey grabs ahold of the chains on either side of Ian’s head and pulls himself upwards, inserting each leg between the chains and Ian body, so he can seat himself firmly on Ian’s lap. Confused, Ian stares blankly at Mickey, who just leans in and plops a quick kiss on his lips. It’s not romantic, but it’s not, not romantic as well.

“Just so you can have one not-so-shitty thing I guess,” Mickey replies. “You looked all mopey and shit, and I’m sure tears wrinkle clothes,” Mickey adds, and then his words get cut off as Ian gently pushes his hand into Mickey’s fringe, moving it off his face as he presses a deep kiss into the boy’s mouth, pushing both of them slightly forward in the swing.

Ian’s not exactly sure just why he’s kissing the other boy, aside from the fact he’s probably still intoxicated and had a very shitty night. But the kiss deepens just a bit more with Ian pushing himself towards Mickey. The swing starts to tip with the weight, and Mickey slides off Ian’s lap and onto his ass.

Ian is still holding onto the chains when Mickey falls off, so he has to use his foot to stop himself from falling backwards. Hearing Kev's honk, Ian leaves the playground without a backward glance and tumbles into the car. His previous thoughts of prom and the disaster of Josh melting away as he glances back at the playground and thinks about the drunken kiss he just had with Mickey.

Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Running into people that read my fic in NYCC. Like, in line for Cam & Noel and being told "oh, thats on my reading list I've been seeing it float around tumblr." And me being like "thats my fic." It was just so cool to see people actually read it, cause i dont think people do.
