Bennett & Bianca birthday fic yippee!! ^-^

(Shhh ik it's basically midnight this is on-brand for me)

The sun streams through the window, forcing Bennett to open his eyes. He can already hear birds chirping, so he swings himself out of bed. For once, he doesn't fall out of his bed. He glances around, a bit surprised, before he changes into his usual outfit.

When he swings open the door, there's a figure on the couch. At the creaking door, the figure turns to face him. Dark green eyes, an upturned lip, white hair pulled into a ponytail...

"Bee?" he asks, confused. It does explain why he didn't fall out of bed. For the first time ever, he has his twin sister to share his birthday with. She smiles, a genuine one, and hops up from the couch. Her ponytail wisps back and forth as she approaches him. She pulls her twin brother into a hug, and Bennett squeezes her just as tightly. They pull apart, and Bennett's eyes sweep over her. She's dressed in her usual outfit, including the heeled boots. She has ditched the feather boa, interestingly enough, drawing attention to the necklace hanging loosely around her throat. She clears her throat and says, "What do you say we get our day started?"

Bennett smiles, claps his hands, and takes off through his house.

A chorus of "Happy birthday, kiddos!"s follow the twins through the house as they approach the dining room. Several of Bennett's dads sit around the table, chatting fondly. They all greet Bennett and Bianca fondly, laughing and clapping the twins on the back and ruffle their hair. Bianca huffs, but the fond smile on her face betrays her true feelings.

The small family sits and talks for about an hour, before there's a knock at the door. Before anyone can get up, somebody walks into the room. A familiar figure dressed in knee-length boots and shades of blue. She crosses her arms and leans on the wall, clearing her throat.

"Azzy!" Bennett exclaims excitedly, rushing over to embrace his adoptive sister. Bianca is close behind, and Aslia wraps her arms around her chosen siblings. She wishes them both a happy birthday genuinely, and then greets Bennett's dad before the three of them leave.

Bennett skips ahead, dragging Bianca right behind him. Aslia walks a bit behind them, a smile on rose face.

The day is spent running through the countryside, battling hilichurls and just generally having a good time. Even the usually harsh and closed-off Bianca is light, airy, and friendly. Everything goes well for the trio, and Aslia insists that the twins keep the loot. Every time Bennett finds something, he lights up like the sun that beats down upon them. Bianca giggles at that, socking her brother in the shoulder good-naturedly. Aslia rolls her eyes, smiling so wide it practically cracks rose face in half. Grass wisps around the twins' ankles as they run through it, pure and free. It brings a smile to Aslia's face, before ro jumps when Bennett playfully calls for rose to join them. And ro does, tackling Bianca into the grass. A smudge of dirt gets on her usually-pristine dress, but she just snorts and playfully shoves Aslia off of her. This somehow turns into the three siblings wrestling in the grass, rolling in the dirt and shoving each other.

As sun starts to dip lower in the sky, Aslia hops to her feet and brushed herself off. "We've gotta get back to town. C'mon, guys," she says. She holds out her hands, and each twin accepts one. Aslia pulls them both to their feet, before reaching up to pick a blade of grass out of Bennett's hair. Bennett blinks for a moment before saying, "Oh yeah, it is kinda late. Huh."

"And I am beginning to get hungry. Let us return to Mondstadt," Bianca adds.

They rush back to Mondstadt, making it back just as the sky starts to become painted in beautiful shades of pink and orange. Cyrus is seated at the bottom of the stairs to the Cat's Tail, and Katheryne is conspicuously absent from her usual post. Aslia calls, "Dad! We lost track of time, but we're back now!"

Cyrus stands up and greets them all fondly, hugging them one by one.

Bennett follows Cyrus and Aslia into the tavern, Bianca at his side.

"Happy birthday!"

A chorus of voices ring out the moment the twins cross the threshold of the tavern. Banners and hung all around, and large cakes are thrust into the field of vision of each twin. Lumine and Aether are holding the cakes, both smiling. Paimon pops a party popper, giggling as confetti rains onto the twins.

Wiping the confetti from his eyes, Bennett looks around the tavern. Diona is seated on top of the bar, waving. Fischl and Razor light up, both smiling and blowing a kiss Bennett's way. He doesn't see much else, though, because Marjorie runs over to squeeze him and his twin sister in a bone-crushing hug. She exclaims, "Happy birthday, you two!"

Bennett gets out a thank you, and Marjorie releases them with a small chuckle.

Bianca extricates herself and vanishes into the crowd, whilst a voice calls to Bennett from over at the bar. Kaeya is leaning there, raising a glass as he calls Bennett's name. The young adventurer beelines towards the knight, pausing to give Paimon a pat on the head and the Traveler siblings each a quick hug. As he draws closer he can see Diluc behind the counter. It's strange, seeing him behind this bar rather than that of the Angel's Share.

"Happy birthday, Benny," Kaeya chirps when Bennett draws near. Diluc echoes the sentiment, and so does a distracted Diona. She wanders off as Kaeya talks, Bennett listening intently. When arms wrap around his midsection from behind, he jumps. It's just Razor, though, so he relaxes. He continues his conversation with Kaeya, Diluc joining in as well.

Footsteps approach, and Bennett looks up. Surprisingly enough, he sees Katheryne standing before him. She offers him a small gift, and wishes him well. That explains why she wasn't at her stall. Huh, he'd never seen her outside of her little booth. Weird. Well, whatever. He thanks Katheryne warmly, and she ruffles his hair with a gentle smile.

There's talking, cake, and presents. Aslia is the last one to give a gift, claiming ro was "saving the best for last".

Ro gives each sibling an oddly-shaped wrapped package. Peeling back the paper, Bennett spots a small plush toy. Pulling it out fully, he sees it was obviously handcrafted. The stitches are messy in some places, but it was clearly made with great care. A small dog, with golden fabric and long, floppy ears. Bianca gets an owl, made with similar care.

"I hope you like them," Aslia murmurs, "I was working on them for a while."

Both twins launch themselves at her, wrapping her in the tightest hug they can.

This is the luckiest birthday of Bennett's life.

So I saw a yt video 'explaining alcohol to an alien' or something like that a while ago and it was all like yeah we poison us for fun har har and like Yes but also now I'm thinking

What if there's an alien race that's just... Not as intelligent as humans are. There are some plants they eat that make them able to focus better for a short while, and as their society grew they used these and made drugs to basically sharpen their minds for work purposes, like just the ones doing the more complicated jobs, and during off hours they're still just dumb and having fun

And when they meet humans and learn about alcohol sure at first they're like Wtf you poison yourselves for fun?? But then they learn more about it and it sounds like drinking alcohol has the same effect on humans as Not eating their own drugs has on the aliens

So just to clarify because apparently it's needed xD I'm thinking rly animal like aliens or if you want to go IQ points 50-70, until they stumble across a plant that unlocks sth in their brains so they get to IQ 100 or so but only directly after eating it, and with that they figure out the skill to harvest the plant and turn it into a drug that puts them on par or above human average intelligence and creativity etc. But they're not used to being like that full time! They're used to thinking about food and sex and friends and sleep, only being more complicated when it's necessary for work, and the thought that we humans are thinking deep thoughts All The Time about philosophy and politics and maths and the future and whatnot actually sounds terrifying and horrorlike to them

You know what, to start the year off, Imma make this lil appreciation post.

Now it's only been like, less than a year since I joined Tumblr about, I've been writing and drawing for years before this point, but the community here, especially the CoD community which I am mainly apart of just made me feel amazing. Everyone I've met here are some of the nicest people.

I have gotten my old hobbies back, giving me reason to write and draw again which have majorly helped with my own mental health, and now I just wanted to give the amazing people a shout out to start the year off, to hopefully make peoples days, and to just let them know that I appreciate yall!

✮ a /n ; im so embarassed that this is leaving my fingertips actually. i do have to clarify like... i dont rlly think leona gets jealous easily but he can be kind of childish bc he's spoiled if that makes sense lmao. i was so Plauged by this i couldnt sleep its like 4am. i took my melatonin at midnight im so sick. blame @/petrichorium i am not responsible.

✮ synopsis ; leona kingscholar is often annoyed, but not usually over something like this.

He shouldn't have come to class.

The clock on the wall is agitating. Tick, tick, tick. On repeat over and over, plainly the same and piercing. Leona is sensitive to his surroundings, and particularly to noise.

He hates loud noises and sharp cries and he hates the sound of the damn clock in Trein's classroom. He's never been a fan of the classroom setting, general lack of motivation aside. It goes against his very nature to listen to boring lectures and sit through assignments he's already done hundreds of times.

All of his education from being young royalty paid off but ultimately amounts to nothing, because if he wants to graduate he still has to do this all over again.

He's a hunter, so he's not opposed to sitting and lying in wait if there's a promise of reward at the end. If all this sitting around with a twitching ear and bored sigh would amount to anything he'd be a little less annoyed with attending.

And there was one, originally. A thing, that Leona had wanted (which he can only admit to himself begrudgingly) that was worth hauling his ass out of the peaceful botanical garden and into class today. That very thing which is currently giggling their heart out to one of those idiot freshman from the Heartslyabul dorm.

Tick, tick, tick. Leona snaps his jaw close and tears his eyes from the sight, nose scrunched in frustration with a knuckle pushed against his temple.

He wants to go back to his dorm. But he can't. He won't until he gets what he even came for.

The presence of another person alerts his senses, but he relaxes upon realizing it's Ruggie, sitting on the edge of his desk with that usual smug air about him. Leon passes him a glance but doesn't say a word.

"Somethin' troublin' you, my liege? Shyehehe."

Leona all but growls.

"Shut your trap or I'll hang you up by your tail."

"Ouch. That bothered by it, huh?"

"I'm not bothered by squat."

Ruggie laughs hard at that and Leona considers throwing him through a wall. Ruggie is also looking ahead where you at, staring a little more openly than Leona is. He whistles under his breath. He can't remember the names of the two brats, but they're always together. One of them with orange hair and the other with the short blue.

"They're pretty close with those two, yanno. Heard they were having sleep-overs and all durin' their first year.''

Leona narrows his eyes. The clock ticks on. Ruggie grins and Leona knows he should just up and leave. It's stupid to be hanging around here. It's lame that he's even looking. He should just go up there and—

"They're best friends, basically. Been like that since before you two had a thing going too. Way before that, I think."

Leona knows well enough what Ruggie is doing. What Hyena's are good at, goading his annoyance to push him to act. He's looking for a show, and Leona is nearly tempted to give him one. Nearly.

You're not the fierce type like the women back home. You probably wouldn't think twice about it, just bat your little lashes and wave your friends goodbye like the herbivore you are if he decided to drag you away. You'd pester him, follow him around while he acted moody and cold for a while before frowning.

You'd get mad at first, before huffing and saying sorry for something you didn't even do. Mumbling and poking around until Leona eventually drags you in his bed to nap instead of being outright about any of it. If his sister-in-law knew he was acting like such a kid to his woman, he'd never hear the end of it. It's that voice in his head that keeps him stuck in his chair, seething.

"Not like you to be so docile, King." Ruggie says. Leona shoots him a mean enough glare that he backs away in fear.

It's not like he's being docile. Not really. There's more to it than that.

Thing is, Leona is used to being chased. Regardless of his inferiority in birthright, he's still royalty. Royalty means plenty of people itching to get in his good graces to get a taste of the highlife. Leona is used to cheap tactics of seduction and luxury in order to earn his favor - he can smell it from away. He's always half expecting to uncover secret intentions.

It never happens. You are all by all measures, frustratingly sincere. Leona doesn't really know how to respond to it. You don't pay mind to his royalty or his ability aside from a normal amount of awe. You're an herbivore firstly, and a stranger to this world after that. Whatever traits in Leona you've latched onto, he can't wrap his head around nor does he understand.

It's the first time in his life that he's gotten into a romantic entanglement like this. Where everything is all lovey-dovey and things are so important. He's always been respectful to his women but he's never been seriously in love in his life. It's different from just being decent. He cares what you think to an extent that's unfamiliar. It's not like he'd ever fix his mouth to say all that, but it really matters that he does things the right way.

Leona doesn't usually act in self-interest, to begin with. Cocky as he may be - he's still king and kings act in the interest of his people. Regardless of what it looks like, you are part of his people. His pride, in more simple terms.

It's not being docile as much as it's an effort to show some respect for you.

Leona isn't usually jealous about petty, trivial shit. It doesn't matter to him what you do or who you do it with in your own time. He likes that you're independent, too.

He is however, a territorial apex predator and a prince. For better or for worse whenever he looks at you, all he can see is to prey animals encroaching on his territory.

That's the part of him that's raring to go. Teeth clenched and agitated, brows all drawn together in frustration. Leona wants to go back to his dorm, but he wont without what he came for. It's putting him in a bad mood.

But ultimately, he doesn't move from his spot. Ruggie leaves eventually when his mood has soured completely. His head is on the desk and he's got his eyes closed, but his ears twitched at the sound of your chair dragging on the floor.

"Can you guys walk Grimm back to the door? I'm gonna go with Leona. Thanks! See you later,"

And just like that, the classroom clears of the last nuisances occupying it. Leaving only you and Leona and that ticking clock together.

He hears you walk up to him before he sees it. Your voice is annoyingly pleasant to listen to.

"Leona? You sleeping already?"

He's starting to understand why his older brother folded at every single word that came out of his sister-in-laws mouth. He lifts his head just barely to look at you and you're looking at him all wide-eyed. He wants to tick you off a little, but can't conjure up any ideas.

"You done with those little yippin' herbivores you call friends? Can we leave now?"

You frown.

"You're in a bad mood. And don't be mean to them, they are actually my friends, you know?"

He scoffs and your frown deepens.

"Leonaaa," You drag out the syllables of his name as you stand beside him "What's wrong with you?"

He hears you pull a chair up. When he finally sits up, you're sitting directly in front of him on a chair turned backwards. There's hardly any room between you. Your face is twisted up with worry.

Leona reaches to pinch your nose. You pull away making his lips twitch upward.

"I shouldn't've came to class." He complains. You rub your nose but don't say anything back, considering him.

"I didn't think it was that bad today though. I guess it might always be for you though since you know like, everything, but I don't—"

Before you can keep going, he leans forward to press his lips to yours. It shuts you up effectively. Your lips are soft. They're sweet and a little sticky - mouth warm and welcoming.

When he pulls away, you blink at him.

"What were you sayin'." He asks.

You look a little taken aback.

"I don't know. Oh, uhm. I liked the lesson. It's fun to learn stuff about this world, I guess." You stumble over your words like you're shy. It's ironic to him, but charming all the same.

He grins.

"What? You nervous after a little kiss?" He teases.

You flush.

"You're not usually that forward, dummy. Which brings me to my question again, what's up? You're sulking."

"What the hell? I'm not sulkin'"

"Yes you are. Your doing the little nose scrunch thing too. Did something happen?"

He pushes the comment about his nose scrunch away entirely because he's sure thinking about too long is gonna get on his nerves. He glares at you for a while, debating on what he should say. Truth is, he is a little pissed. But he isn't going to tell you that your little chat with friends is making him territorial. That would be ridiculous.

There's a brief moment of silence before you pause. You tilt your head, eyes shining with curiosity.

"...Were you lonely?" You suggest.

His face drops.

"You're not the jealous type usually, but you're like a big overgrown kitty. So, you missed me right? That's why you're moping?"

The tone of your voice makes him want to pinch you again.

"Watch your mouth, herbivore." He grits, agitation rolling back into his tone like a wave. And you laugh, the nerve of you. Giggle a little as you lean in closer.

"You didn't say no."

"Shut up." He says, weakly.

"Leona," You say his name again, a little sweeter. Purposefully full of affection and he hates everything about how mushy it's making him feel. You reach your hand up to his head, petting behind his ears in the place you know he likes "I'm sorryyy,"

"Do you go 'nd tuck your tail between your legs like this for everyone? Where's your self-respect, huh?" He means to say with a lot more characteristic sarcasm.

But it all comes out gross and sweet sounding instead.

"Mm, no? It's just that my boyfriend is pretty shit at being honest about his feelings so if I don't dote on him he'll wither away like a houseplant and—"

He covers your mouth with his hand and glares at you, faux annoyed. And you're giggling against his palms, all bely laughs. It's all a little nauseating for him. He pulls away by cupping your jaw instead, squishing your face together.

"When'd you get so damn mouthy?" He grumbles.

"Since forever ago." You say through squished lips. He huffs, leaning forward to kiss you a second time. You're all soft everywhere. Squishy and mellow. Leona kisses you three times in the process, each one a little more impatient than the last before releasing you.

He doesn't let go, hand going to cup the back your neck instead. He cradles your head close, sighing against your mouth.

"Annoying," He says. You smile at him and he has to look away to deal with the intensity of it.

"You love me." You say with a smile. If only you knew the half of it.

He doesn't say that of course. Just scoffs as he stands to his feet, dragging you with him. He curls an arm around your waist, pulling you close to him. The warmth of your body makes him purr.

"In your dreams. You owe me for cuttin' into my naptime."

"What can I do for you my liege?" You say sarcastically, grabbing his hand openly. He squeezes it "You wanna take a nap with me?"

"Can't promise I'll get you in my bed and not fuck you about it." He says with a lazy chuckle. You nudge his side.

"You're so crass."

"You love me," He mocks. You huff.

"Unfortunately, I do. Could use some rest though," You yawn, and blinking blearily "So nap time it is. 'kay?"

He kisses the side of your head.

"Sounds good t'me."

Diluc had been looking around the lesser patroled areas of Mondstadt to search for the Architect

He didn't even need those incompetent knights to tell him their god had finally descended

He already saw the signs long before Mondstadt

Bc youve been in Wolvendom, the area has flourished over time, more fish in the water, more game to hunt and bigger, crows making circles in the sky despite there being no corpse

And one of the closest places to you,

Is the Dawn Winery.

Diluc's security against Venti began to hold up better, the staff didn't have to clean as much things like dirt or weather damage to the manor,

His hawk had never been faster delivering his letters, he almost thought the little guy had been drugged with something

He patroled Stormterror's Lair, and deep in the woods surrounding the manor that the knights hadn't bother to go into

Afterall, he figured you'd never had a mortal form before, so u were unlikely to fend for urself for very long in the woods lol

so he wanted to find u quick (aww softy :')

He even made a trip out to the Thousand Wind Temple and Dragonspine (he did report that one to the knights, he didn't want Amber, Bennett, or Creator-forbid Klee, being the few pyro users to have to explore it)

Finally, after doing the further away locations, siginificant in history and rich with leftover magic

Diluc figured that's where you might land first, so he saved Wolvendom for last

It would at least let him check on that wolf kid and maybe get to talk to him long enough to ask him if he's seen anything unusual.

The lord of Dawn Winery manor heads into the Wolvendom woods, just as sunset colors the trees...

It was a Friday evening, the sun was setting, the weather was pleasant and it was time for all of the Lupical to come together and eat a big feast!! :)

About once a month, Andrius will come out for a few nights and dine with all of yall

Hes an old wolf give him a break, he takes long naps

So u cook lots of Mondstadt favorites to eat on and a few Liyue dishes too

Razor, ur favorite helper, has helped u finish the last dish and is now romping around with the puppies bless <3

U guys have dragged ur coffee table dining table setup out to sit and eat at

Andrius lets out a not too loud, not too quiet howl, and as the wolves, Razor and you lmao join in

Yall dig in, bones flying everywhere, spagetti noodles flingling around, it would put toddlers to shame lol

Diluc hears a howl that is too... big to be a regular wolf.

It filled the air of Wolvendom like no howl before it, as he used the glowing lampgrass to help light the path deeper

He sneaks past a hilichurl camp or two, all fast asleep

He scans the woods, and figures he'll search the woods besides the path after he gets to that old stone carved pit-

Food?

Diluc sniffs the air, and squints deeper into the forest

The black branches shade the way ahead, but just barely... he can see the flicker of orange and blue light?

He summons his claymore, bracing it on his shoulder, and creeps into the treeline to better hide him

You swear to god (dammit swear to.. you??) someone is watching you.

You look around the piles of fluffy doggos, happy and stuffed full they r slowly forming puppy piles

Andrius is finishing his meat platter, also sitting on all four legs on the ground

Razor is splayed on his back beside you, eyes closed, his feet sticking out the other side of the table, u chuckle at him

But not a single Lupical seems to be looking at you.

Gulping down your last few bites, you scan the treeline

U refuse to be that bitch in a horror movie where their gut says smth is off and they brush it off or barely look at their surroundings

Turning around to the treeline behind you, u see something... red fur?

U sit up some more, peering over the bushes at the bottom of the trees

You meet a pair of warm brown eyes, widened like they're just as shocked to see you

As u notice his familiar red high ponytail (but also not?? Its weird going from 2D to 3D and still recognizing bitches)

U peer down at his chest, as he carefully stands out of the foliage-

That familiar star shaped button that u can press for the character menu screen, the same thats on Razor, on Benny, on Fischl, on Lisa-

Hovers over Diluc's chest.

Diluc is in the bush, observing the human(???) stranger (he really doesnt want to attract the attention of that.. giant spirit wolf thing)

The figure sitting at a ... table?? (He can barely process all these absurdities at once, hes only got so much brain space)

Has sensed his presence, and as he grips his claymore, ready to demand answers,

Razor startles, and jumps up, smelling the pyro user, he summons his weapon-

The figure locks eyes with him, and all he sees is gold.

Diluc drops his claymore.

also this is gonna be long as HELL so feel free to ignore me😭 i just wanted to say that im grateful to have ppl who read and love my work, i appreciate all of u soso much i swear u guys have no idea! each ask i get, each comment, rb, tag, i appreciate all interactions and hold them dear to my heart!!!!

ive been struggling a lot mentally lately, and have been feeling immense amount of stress over my grad school applications, work and basically every other aspect of my life. writing has been a good outlet so im happy that i still have it. however, posting on here had been a struggle for me lately, im sure everyone is tired of seeing posts like these and im probably adding on but idc😭

the fandom has felt a bit empty lately and even then i felt sort of excluded? in a sense? like theres some kind of clique in this fandom that im not a part of? idk how to make sense of it. its stupid. to feel this way over a fandom tbh, but i cant control it😭

and then again i also get super judgy of what i write, and get overly critical because of the lack of interaction and notes i get, or because of the hateful anons. it rlly is disheartening bc i love using tumblr as my escape, i love posting on here and connecting with people. writers, readers. it saddens me a lot that it turned into something really stressful for me.

so i have decided to come on here with a new mindset, a more of an idgaf attitude LMAO and WRITE whatever i like or what caters to me without being too worried! and if i can’t seem to do that i’m gonna be taking short breaks more frequently.

i just blabbed all this to basically say that im trying to clear my head, sometimes the negativity gets to me and i want to create a much more positive space for myself!! 😅

can i be honest and you can ignore me if you like absolutely it's nothing to do with you in specific you just seem very nice is all. as much as i love ofmd and the people with good opinions are awesome it feels sort of... cliquey sometimes 😭 or maybe a word less harsh it's not a harsh thing it's just like everyone's already settled in. like i know this is a thing in most fandom spaces but it's really hard to try and get an in anywhere i spose and like that post i don't even know if you reblogged said people don't even go into the main tags anymore (bc of racists and stuff which is understandable) they just reblog from each other but it makes everything feel really circular sort of. i know this isn't anyone's fault it's just a little sad complex thing i have lol i have no friends or even mutuals who are into the show and it's my special interest so i kind of just watch everyone from the outside and don't know how to get in without like annoying people.

i know exactly what you mean and i think the cliquiness happens pretty unavoidably in any fandom that reaches a certain size and has a certain amount of Discourse™ (and christ knows we have. so much of it over here)

and i completely get the feeling of coming into a fandom and seeing people who seem to have a really close knit circle of mutuals and feeling really intimidated. but fandom isn't meant to be some exclusive club and even if people are interacting with posts from the same few users all the time that doesn't mean they'd find you annoying or they don't want to interact with anybody new

from my pov folks are always welcome to reply to my posts or send me asks or tag me in stuff or whatever. i rocked up late to the ofmd fandom (almost a year after s1 aired) and i found nearly everyone (bar. a key few. who strongly disagree with me about basically everything lmao) to be really friendly

i don't really have any good advice bc the way i approach new fandoms is to basically rock up in the tag and just start yelling about every semi-coherent thought that forms in my brain but that's what tumblr is for and why this website is a good place lmao. but i know how you feel and it's hard but i promise it'll get easier if you take the first leap and start posting in the tag or replying to posts that you like

Signal Lost

I've had something happen to me that's so incredible and that I could have never hoped, something so touching and so unbelievable that it made me rethink a whole lot of stuff: a wonderful reader on Ao3 started reading my long-form fic (101k words!!!) and commented basically every chapter after a certain point. And wow, I would have never thought something like this might happen.

And yeah, it is my first fic with plot in it, yeah I will never believe it to be perfect, but it's good enough. And receiving all those emails from Ao3 really was the highlight of my days over the course of which I saw said reader slowly go through all my favorite parts!

And so I wish to give it some spotlight here, while I'm finishing up my school year and work and whatever! I will post this here for now, but I will drop chapters every few days and make a Masterlist for it this weekend. (nvm I don't have the energy to do this any time soon lmao) I have too many loose ideas in my head so this is just to pass the time till the brain worms wiggle all in the same direction

“I don’t think I’ve ever received a document as classified as this one. What am I supposed to do with it, Kate?” he says, dragging his thumb across the pile of papers, each file filled with more ink than the last.

“You asked for proof, there’s your proof,” Laswell says.

“You said you’ll bring someone competent, and who can help us, this doesn’t tell me shit.” He stares blankly at the screen, tired. She stares back.

“The Captain specifically asked to keep this under wraps.”

He rubs at his face, scratching at his beard. It’s getting long again.

“Who is he, anyway?”

“I can’t tell you that.”

He groans again, picking up the file on top. No photo, no name, no age, no height, weight, no nothing . And he thought Simon was secretive.

“What can you tell me?”

“It’s the closest we’ve ever gotten to him. Did things a particular way.”

He shifts through the papers. “And the discharge?”

“Left after the entire team got wiped out. Messy stuff.”

“That why he doesn’t show his face?” He bends forward, grabbing the cigar from the ashtray and bringing it to his lips.

“John.” Her voice carries a heavy warning.

“Just sayin’,” he says, biting around the cigar with one side of the mouth. “What kinda captain doesn’t go down with his men?”

“Got enough guilt as is. You’re lucky I convinced them.”

They both remain silent. They know the missions would be a slippery slope. One wrong move and a war is started. He puffs a cloud of smoke.

“Anything else?” John asks.

Kate looks to the side, her face illuminated by another screen. He can see her hesitate, her lips are pursed in a thin line as if she’s debating her options.

“You’ve worked together before.”

His face lights up. “Finally! Who?”

Her face immediately hardens back up. “Can’t tell, John, my hands are tied.” She sighs. “You were still a Lieutenant.”

Years ago then. He mentally catalogs everyone he’s ever worked with, but he knows that at that age, he was throwing himself at every available mission, wanting to make a name for himself. “So an old fart then? How’s that gonna help us?” If the guy was a Captain when he was still a Lieutenant, and he felt himself grow old, he can’t imagine who Laswell is bringing back from the dead.

Laswell’s face distorts, he knows he’s pushing her buttons, but he has to know.

“Not older than you John.”

His eyebrows raise. “Oh?”

okay so i’ve matched with a few ladies on dating apps and i don’t know how to start the conversations???? i don’t mean to be a loser who doesn’t know how to talk to people, but like i’ve never genuinely flirted with someone a day in my life and i don’t wanna start it off with a boring “hi!” or “hey” LMAO. i’m sure you’ve had your fill with people asking basic questions about flirting and sparking convos with people you find attractive, but please i beg

this will be long so I'll put the cut right here and there's some topics. so first is the sparking conversation and creating opportunities for talking, then i talk ab the flirting

if someone else has more tips, helpful information, any corrections to what i said, please put in the comments and tags, i absolutely will be grateful bc i can't give an answer to this that would be conclusive 😭😭

listen, I'm not the best person to answer that. for context: because with the autism and being demiromantic (and demisexual in some level) and all, it's hard for me to develop a real contact with people which leads me to mask even over text sometimes - that's not to say I don't have good, fun and nice conversations with people, i absolutely do, but i truly need the other person to be into this so i can fully get into it over time and get used to it. not only that, but online contact is not the same as in person stuff. here i can have sexual conversations more easily because i have no irl contact. irl i need more physical moments with the person, being around them, having in person conversations - quality time if you will - and i have dozens of dozens of external factors I can't control (light, weather, sounds, the amount of people around, where i am exactly) and that will impact my mood, my expression, the level of masking; essentially everything in my social exchange. so it's harder.

with that being said, there's some things i usually ask/talk ab, because i genuinely want to get to know people and I'm interested on them as humans overall. don't be afraid to say "hii", be cliche or something, that's not as bad as it seems. you can say "heey i saw we matched, do you want to talk?", idk, be polite and express interest (I don't do dating apps and i know 0 about dating apps social conveniences, I'm saying based on what i usually do in regular conversations). if you're meeting them irl, there's nothing wrong in making small talk. other things i do, both irl and online:

- asking ab interests! music, movies, books, shows, hobbies, studies, job. i love getting to know that, bc i express a lot of myself through these things and i learned that others do the same. that's not a rule but it can happen, and sharing interests always gives more opportunities to other conversations and interactions, like exchanging memes, inside jokes. irl i also like to spend time doing something together: museum dates, library dates, movies, park; there's hundreds of possibilities. i truly enjoy the museum/library if the other person is into it because through talking ab these things you can learn a lot about them, their responses and ways of thinking, beliefs, etc.

- asking ab their day. i know it seems lame and basic. but you can talk abour what they do, if they have pets, if they like this or that;

- to me this is when I'm more comfortable with the person irl, which takes in consideration many things that I'll spare details, but inviting them over your place. to play some games, to spend time, to talk;

about the flirting: i think generally being comfortable with the person helps me. if we're talking ab a situation where both of you know there's an sexual tone and intention and interest, it's way easier (like around here, for example, if you slide in my DMs with a sexual tone, I'll suppose you want sexual conversation). but not everyone feels comfortable with the advance, or maybe they like to talk first and go tipping the waters slowly. if it's a situation where the sexual intention, or second intentions in general, isn't clear, I'd say talk a bit first and try to fit some things here and there. talk ab them being pretty in that photo, about them looking good while talking about their interests, about your reaction to them (does that way of talking make you feel things? do you think it's hot how they do something? do you find something attractive?) and see how they respond. also I don't know if it sounds ridiculous, but maybe... asking what they're looking for in a conversation on a dating app? bc i also wouldn't know wkdkkdd i guess it's supposed to be flirting all around so maybe let's start from that presupposition

there's no specific formula on this, which i truly lament about. i wish there was, trust me [*sweating, gripping my clothes and trying not to freak out about social interactions in general*]. if you have specific questions, you can always ask in the comments and also i will put this on general tags so people can see it and insert their tips

this was long and i feel like i was rambling. if it's nonsense, do let me know, but i hope it was somehow helpful. I'm 0 sure about this, again, the autism makes it extremely hard but this is what i could piece together up until this point in my very humble and quiet life.

Hello @f1utterbatz I am not SUPER familiar with tumblr so you have to forgive me if there’s a certain etiquette I failed to recognize, but this is the funniest set of tags for my art I’ve ever received during my time here and I appreciate it! /gen

BUT anyways I’m going to elaborate on my Zorinas (16, she/her non binary)

(that’s the OC’s name I feel an obligation to explain myself if I may)

(Will include pokemon SV spoilers)

(And also I love talking about Zorina in general I just dump the WILDEST shit on her LMFAO)

SV ZORINA

Zorina started as a pokemon Scarlet OC (specifically scarlet bc thats the one I played). I have another OC paired with her who I will ignore for this explanation, but basically, she’s the Prototype AI before AI Sada where they experimented to make a fully functioning human out of code. But she was too “human” to be used for the Paradise Protection Protocol, even defied AI Sada to the point she ran away

Long story short — she was attacked and lost all of her memories, found by my other OC (former Sada intern) who repaired her, needed a place to stay, so Hassel and Brassius took her in as their own and hadn’t told her she’s not human

Anyways on to BW2 and XY OC, they’re pretty short in comparison to my SV OC since they’re new but yes

BW2 ZORINA

This Zorina knows she’s AI LMAO. A robot.. she’s basically made to be Colress’ assistant, and worships him like a god (or loves him as a father? But just doesn’t know what she feels yet?) for “giving her life,” and yearns to be human like everyone else. (Post-BW2 she’s still his assistant, but she mellows out a bit and becomes more like SV Zorina, coming to terms with herself)

This is first ever art of her that was floating in my brain. Have sillies now

XY Zorina

I don’t have art of her… she is just a super new concept

Basically, she was created by Team Flare with a bit of help from Professor Sycamore for Lysandre to create the perfect woman — young, elegant, artistic, and beautiful — for the whole perfect world and eternal beauty + youth thing. So among the Zorinas, she’s the most “super human-y” because she was made to be unblemished at all costs, you can’t cut through her hair, all that stuff. He is obsessed with her, to the point that he won’t allow her to go anywhere without him/supervision from a Team Flare scientist.

Her plot throughout the game is that she’s Serena’s/Calem’s rival who is secretly going out and battling the gyms behind Lysandre’s back, and she eventually gets caught. Because Lysandre is a control freak, the whole thing in Lysandre cafe is also an attempt to help set her free.

She was taken under Sycamore’s care post-team flare plot

I’m sorry if this was incredibly messy and ramble-y but I like Zorina <33 wait until I make more version exclusives soon! LMAO
